Ipse Esdras ascendit de Babylone, et ipse scriba velox in lege Moysi, quam Dominus Deus dedit Israël : et dedit ei rex secundum manum Domini Dei ejus super eum, omnem petitionem ejus.
- Cet Esdras vint de Babylone: c'était un scribe versé dans la loi de Moïse, donnée par l'Éternel, le Dieu d'Israël. Et comme la main de l'Éternel, son Dieu, était sur lui, le roi lui accorda tout ce qu'il avait demandé. (Ⅱ) - This Ezra went up from Babylon; and he was a ready scribe in the law of Moses, which the LORD God of Israel had given: and the king granted him all his request, according to the hand of the LORD his God upon him. (Ⅲ) - 6 ׃7 הוא עזרא עלה מבבל והוא ספר מהיר בתורת משה אשר נתן יהוה אלהי ישראל ויתן לו המלך כיד יהוה אלהיו עליו כל בקשתו פ (Ⅴ)

Et ascenderunt de filiis Israël, et de filiis sacerdotum, et de filiis Levitarum, et de cantoribus, et de janitoribus, et de Nathinæis, in Jerusalem, anno septimo Artaxerxis regis.
- Plusieurs des enfants d'Israël, des sacrificateurs et des Lévites, des chantres, des portiers, et des Néthiniens, vinrent aussi à Jérusalem, la septième année du roi Artaxerxès. (Ⅱ) - And there went up some of the children of Israel, and of the priests, and the Levites, and the singers, and the porters, and the Nethinims, unto Jerusalem, in the seventh year of Artaxerxes the king. (Ⅲ) - 7 ׃7 ויעלו מבני ישראל ומן הכהנים והלוים והמשררים והשערים והנתינים אל ירושלם בשנת שבע לארתחשסתא המלך (Ⅴ)

Et venerunt in Jerusalem mense quinto, ipse est annus septimus regis.
- Esdras arriva à Jérusalem au cinquième mois de la septième année du roi; (Ⅱ) - And he came to Jerusalem in the fifth month, which was in the seventh year of the king. (Ⅲ) - 8 ׃7 ויבא ירושלם בחדש החמישי היא שנת השביעית למלך (Ⅴ)

Quia in primo die mensis primi cœpit ascendere de Babylone, et in primo die mensis quinti venit in Jerusalem, juxta manum Dei sui bonam super se.
- il était parti de Babylone le premier jour du premier mois, et il arriva à Jérusalem le premier jour du cinquième mois, la bonne main de son Dieu étant sur lui. (Ⅱ) - For upon the first day of the first month began he to go up from Babylon, and on the first day of the fifth month came he to Jerusalem, according to the good hand of his God upon him. (Ⅲ) - 9 ׃7 כי באחד לחדש הראשון הוא יסד המעלה מבבל ובאחד לחדש החמישי בא אל ירושלם כיד אלהיו הטובה עליו (Ⅴ)

Esdras enim paravit cor suum, ut investigaret legem Domini, et faceret et doceret in Israël præceptum et judicium.\
- Car Esdras avait appliqué son coeur à étudier et à mettre en pratique la loi de l'Éternel, et à enseigner au milieu d'Israël les lois et les ordonnances. (Ⅱ) - For Ezra had prepared his heart to seek the law of the LORD, and to do it, and to teach in Israel statutes and judgments. (Ⅲ) - 10 ׃7 כי עזרא הכין לבבו לדרוש את תורת יהוה ולעשת וללמד בישראל חק ומשפט ס (Ⅴ)

Hoc est autem exemplar epistolæ edicti, quod dedit rex Artaxerxes Esdræ sacerdoti, scribæ erudito in sermonibus et præceptis Domini, et cæremoniis ejus in Israël.
- Voici la copie de la lettre donnée par le roi Artaxerxès à Esdras, sacrificateur et scribe, enseignant les commandements et les lois de l'Éternel concernant Israël: (Ⅱ) - Now this is the copy of the letter that the king Artaxerxes gave unto Ezra the priest, the scribe, even a scribe of the words of the commandments of the LORD, and of his statutes to Israel. (Ⅲ) - 11 ׃7 וזה פרשגן הנשתון אשר נתן המלך ארתחשסתא לעזרא הכהן הספר ספר דברי מצות יהוה וחקיו על ישראל פ (Ⅴ)

Artaxerxes rex regum Esdræ sacerdoti scribæ legis Dei cæli doctissimo, salutem.
- Artaxerxès, roi des rois, à Esdras, sacrificateur et scribe, versé dans la loi du Dieu des cieux, etc. (Ⅱ) - Artaxerxes, king of kings, unto Ezra the priest, a scribe of the law of the God of heaven, perfect peace, and at such a time. (Ⅲ) - 12 ׃7 ארתחשסתא מלך מלכיא לעזרא כהנא ספר דתא די אלה שמיא גמיר וכענת (Ⅴ)

A me decretum est, ut cuicumque placuerit in regno meo de populo Israël, et de sacerdotibus ejus, et de Levitis, ire in Jerusalem, tecum vadat.
- J'ai donné ordre de laisser aller tous ceux du peuple d'Israël, de ses sacrificateurs et de ses Lévites, qui se trouvent dans mon royaume, et qui sont disposés à partir avec toi pour Jérusalem. (Ⅱ) - I make a decree, that all they of the people of Israel, and of his priests and Levites, in my realm, which are minded of their own freewill to go up to Jerusalem, go with thee. (Ⅲ) - 13 ׃7 מני שים טעם די כל מתנדב במלכותי מן עמה ישראל וכהנוהי ולויא למהך לירושלם עמך יהך (Ⅴ)

A facie enim regis, et septem consiliatorum ejus, missus es, ut visites Judæam et Jerusalem in lege Dei tui, quæ est in manu tua :
- Tu es envoyé par le roi et ses sept conseillers pour inspecter Juda et Jérusalem d'après la loi de ton Dieu, laquelle est entre tes mains, (Ⅱ) - Forasmuch as thou art sent of the king, and of his seven counsellors, to enquire concerning Judah and Jerusalem, according to the law of thy God which is in thine hand; (Ⅲ) - 14 ׃7 כל קבל די מן קדם מלכא ושבעת יעטהי שליח לבקרא על יהוד ולירושלם בדת אלהך די בידך (Ⅴ)

et ut feras argentum et aurum quod rex, et consiliatores ejus, sponte obtulerunt Deo Israël, cujus in Jerusalem tabernaculum est.
- et pour porter l'argent et l'or que le roi et ses conseillers ont généreusement offerts au Dieu d'Israël, dont la demeure est à Jérusalem, (Ⅱ) - And to carry the silver and gold, which the king and his counsellors have freely offered unto the God of Israel, whose habitation is in Jerusalem, (Ⅲ) - 15 ׃7 ולהיבלה כסף ודהב די מלכא ויעטוהי התנדבו לאלה ישראל די בירושלם משכנה (Ⅴ)

Et omne argentum et aurum quodcumque inveneris in universa provincia Babylonis, et populus offerre voluerit, et de sacerdotibus quæ sponte obtulerint domui Dei sui, quæ est in Jerusalem,
- tout l'argent et l'or que tu trouveras dans toute la province de Babylone, et les dons volontaires faits par le peuple et les sacrificateurs pour la maison de leur Dieu à Jérusalem. (Ⅱ) - And all the silver and gold that thou canst find in all the province of Babylon, with the freewill offering of the people, and of the priests, offering willingly for the house of their God which is in Jerusalem: (Ⅲ) - 16 ׃7 וכל כסף ודהב די תהשכח בכל מדינת בבל עם התנדבות עמא וכהניא מתנדבין לבית אלההם די בירושלם (Ⅴ)

libere accipe, et studiose eme de hac pecunia vitulos, arietes, agnos, et sacrificia, et libamina eorum, et offer ea super altare templi Dei vestri, quod est in Jerusalem.
- En conséquence, tu auras soin d'acheter avec cet argent des taureaux, des béliers, des agneaux, et ce qui est nécessaire pour les offrandes et les libations, et tu les offriras sur l'autel de la maison de votre Dieu à Jérusalem. (Ⅱ) - That thou mayest buy speedily with this money bullocks, rams, lambs, with their meat offerings and their drink offerings, and offer them upon the altar of the house of your God which is in Jerusalem. (Ⅲ) - 17 ׃7 כל קבל דנה אספרנא תקנא בכספא דנה תורין דכרין אמרין ומנחתהון ונסכיהון ותקרב המו על מדבחה די בית אלהכם די בירושלם (Ⅴ)

Sed et si quid tibi et fratribus tuis placuerit de reliquo argento et auro ut faciatis, juxta voluntatem Dei vestri facite.
- Vous ferez avec le reste de l'argent et de l'or ce que vous jugerez bon de faire, toi et tes frères, en vous conformant à la volonté de votre Dieu. (Ⅱ) - And whatsoever shall seem good to thee, and to thy brethren, to do with the rest of the silver and the gold, that do after the will of your God. (Ⅲ) - 18 ׃7 ומה די *עליך **עלך[y] ועל *אחיך **אחך[y] ייטב בשאר כספא ודהבה למעבד כרעות אלהכם תעבדון (Ⅴ)

Vasa quoque, quæ dantur tibi in ministerium domus Dei tui, trade in conspectu Dei in Jerusalem.
- Dépose devant le Dieu de Jérusalem les ustensiles qui te sont remis pour le service de la maison de ton Dieu. (Ⅱ) - The vessels also that are given thee for the service of the house of thy God, those deliver thou before the God of Jerusalem. (Ⅲ) - 19 ׃7 ומאניא די מתיהבין לך לפלחן בית אלהך השלם קדם אלה ירושלם (Ⅴ)

Sed et cetera, quibus opus fuerit in domum Dei tui, quantumcumque necesse est ut expendas, dabitur de thesauro, et de fisco regis,
- Tu tireras de la maison des trésors du roi ce qu'il faudra pour les autres dépenses que tu auras à faire concernant la maison de ton Dieu. (Ⅱ) - And whatsoever more shall be needful for the house of thy God, which thou shalt have occasion to bestow, bestow it out of the king's treasure house. (Ⅲ) - 20 ׃7 ושאר חשחות בית אלהך די יפל לך למנתן תנתן מן בית גנזי מלכא (Ⅴ)

et a me. Ego Artaxerxes rex, statui atque decrevi omnibus custodibus arcæ publicæ, qui sunt trans flumen, ut quodcumque petierit a vobis Esdras sacerdos, scriba legis Dei cæli, absque mora detis,
- Moi, le roi Artaxerxès, je donne l'ordre à tous les trésoriers de l'autre côté du fleuve de livrer exactement à Esdras, sacrificateur et scribe, versé dans la loi du Dieu des cieux, tout ce qu'il vous demandera, (Ⅱ) - And I, even I Artaxerxes the king, do make a decree to all the treasurers which are beyond the river, that whatsoever Ezra the priest, the scribe of the law of the God of heaven, shall require of you, it be done speedily, (Ⅲ) - 21 ׃7 ומני אנה ארתחשסתא מלכא שים טעם לכל גזבריא די בעבר נהרה די כל די ישאלנכון עזרא כהנה ספר דתא די אלה שמיא אספרנא יתעבד (Ⅴ)

usque ad argenti talenta centum, et usque ad frumenti coros centum, et usque ad vini batos centum, et usque ad batos olei centum, sal vero absque mensura.
- jusqu'à cent talents d'argent, cent cors de froment, cent baths de vin, cent baths d'huile, et du sel à discrétion. (Ⅱ) - Unto an hundred talents of silver, and to an hundred measures of wheat, and to an hundred baths of wine, and to an hundred baths of oil, and salt without prescribing how much. (Ⅲ) - 22 ׃7 עד כסף ככרין מאה ועד חנטין כרין מאה ועד חמר בתין מאה ועד בתין משח מאה ומלח די לא כתב (Ⅴ)

Omne quod ad ritum Dei cæli pertinet, tribuatur diligenter in domo Dei cæli : ne forte irascatur contra regnum regis, et filiorum ejus.
- Que tout ce qui est ordonné par le Dieu des cieux se fasse ponctuellement pour la maison du Dieu des cieux, afin que sa colère ne soit pas sur le royaume, sur le roi et sur ses fils. (Ⅱ) - Whatsoever is commanded by the God of heaven, let it be diligently done for the house of the God of heaven: for why should there be wrath against the realm of the king and his sons? (Ⅲ) - 23 ׃7 כל די מן טעם אלה שמיא יתעבד אדרזדא לבית אלה שמיא די למה להוא קצף על מלכות מלכא ובנוהי (Ⅴ)

Vobis quoque notum facimus de universis sacerdotibus, et Levitis, et cantoribus, et janitoribus, Nathinæis, et ministris domus Dei hujus, ut vectigal, et tributum, et annonas non habeatis potestatem imponendi super eos.
- Nous vous faisons savoir qu'il ne peut être levé ni tribut, ni impôt, ni droit de passage, sur aucun des sacrificateurs, des Lévites, des chantres, des portiers, des Néthiniens, et des serviteurs de cette maison de Dieu. (Ⅱ) - Also we certify you, that touching any of the priests and Levites, singers, porters, Nethinims, or ministers of this house of God, it shall not be lawful to impose toll, tribute, or custom, upon them. (Ⅲ) - 24 ׃7 ולכם מהודעין די כל כהניא ולויא זמריא תרעיא נתיניא ופלחי בית אלהא דנה מנדה בלו והלך לא שליט למרמא עליהם (Ⅴ)

Tu autem Esdra, secundum sapientiam Dei tui, quæ est in manu tua, constitue judices et præsides, ut judicent omni populo qui est trans flumen, his videlicet qui noverunt legem Dei tui : sed et imperitos docete libere.
- Et toi, Esdras, selon la sagesse de Dieu que tu possèdes, établis des juges et des magistrats qui rendent la justice à tout le peuple de l'autre côté du fleuve, à tous ceux qui connaissent les lois de ton Dieu; et fais-les connaître à ceux qui ne le connaissent pas. (Ⅱ) - And thou, Ezra, after the wisdom of thy God, that is in thine hand, set magistrates and judges, which may judge all the people that are beyond the river, all such as know the laws of thy God; and teach ye them that know them not. (Ⅲ) - 25 ׃7 ואנת עזרא כחכמת אלהך די בידך מני שפטין ודינין די להון *דאנין **דאינין לכל עמה די בעבר נהרה לכל ידעי דתי אלהך ודי לא ידע תהודעון (Ⅴ)

Et omnis qui non fecerit legem Dei tui, et legem regis, diligenter, judicium erit de eo sive in mortem, sive in exilium, sive in condemnationem substantiæ ejus, vel certe in carcerem.\
- Quiconque n'observera pas ponctuellement la loi de ton Dieu et la loi du roi sera condamné à la mort, au bannissement, à une amende, ou à la prison. (Ⅱ) - And whosoever will not do the law of thy God, and the law of the king, let judgment be executed speedily upon him, whether it be unto death, or to banishment, or to confiscation of goods, or to imprisonment. (Ⅲ) - 26 ׃7 וכל די לא להוא עבד דתא די אלהך ודתא די מלכא אספרנא דינה להוא מתעבד מנה הן למות הן *לשרשו **לשרשי הן לענש נכסין ולאסורין פ (Ⅴ)

Benedictus Dominus Deus patrum nostrorum, qui dedit hoc in corde regis ut glorificaret domum Domini quæ est in Jerusalem,
- Béni soit l'Éternel, le Dieu de nos pères, qui a disposé le coeur du roi à glorifier ainsi la maison de l'Éternel à Jérusalem, (Ⅱ) - Blessed be the LORD God of our fathers, which hath put such a thing as this in the king's heart, to beautify the house of the LORD which is in Jerusalem: (Ⅲ) - 27 ׃7 ברוך יהוה אלהי אבותינו אשר נתן כזאת בלב המלך לפאר את בית יהוה אשר בירושלם (Ⅴ)

et in me inclinavit misericordiam suam coram rege et consiliatoribus ejus, et universis principibus regis potentibus : et ego confortatus manu Domini Dei mei, quæ erat in me, congregavi de Israël principes qui ascenderent mecum.
- et qui m'a rendu l'objet de la bienveillance du roi, de ses conseillers, et de tous ses puissants chefs! Fortifié par la main de l'Éternel, mon Dieu, qui était sur moi, j'ai rassemblé les chefs d'Israël, afin qu'ils partissent avec moi. (Ⅱ) - And hath extended mercy unto me before the king, and his counsellors, and before all the king's mighty princes. And I was strengthened as the hand of the LORD my God was upon me, and I gathered together out of Israel chief men to go up with me. (Ⅲ) - 28 ׃7 ועלי הטה חסד לפני המלך ויועציו ולכל שרי המלך הגברים ואני התחזקתי כיד יהוה אלהי עלי ואקבצה מישראל ראשים לעלות עמי פ (Ⅴ)
