And I gathered them together to the river that runneth to Ahava; and there abode we in tents three days: and I viewed the people, and the priests, and found there none of the sons of Levi.

Je dirigeai mon attention sur le peuple et sur les sacrificateurs, et je ne trouvai là aucun des fils de Lévi. Then sent I for Eliezer, for Ariel, for Shemaiah, and for Elnathan, and for Jarib, and for Elnathan, and for Nathan, and for Zechariah, and for Meshullam, chief men; also for Joiarib, and for Elnathan, men of understanding.

And I sent them with commandment unto Iddo the chief at the place Casiphia, and I told them what they should say unto Iddo, and to his brethren the Nethinims, at the place Casiphia, that they should bring unto us ministers for the house of our God.
- Je les envoyai vers le chef Iddo, demeurant à Casiphia, et je mis dans leur bouche ce qu'ils devaient dire à Iddo et à ses frères les Néthiniens qui étaient à Casiphia, afin qu'ils nous amenassent des serviteurs pour la maison de notre Dieu. (Ⅱ) - Et misi eos ad Eddo, qui est primus in Chasphiæ loco, et posui in ore eorum verba, quæ loquerentur ad Eddo, et fratres ejus Nathinæos in loco Chasphiæ, ut adducerent nobis ministros domus Dei nostri. (Ⅳ) - 17 ׃8 *ואוצאה **ואצוה אותם על אדו הראש בכספיא המקום ואשימה בפיהם דברים לדבר אל אדו אחיו *הנתונים **הנתינים בכספיא המקום להביא לנו משרתים לבית אלהינו (Ⅴ)

And by the good hand of our God upon us they brought us a man of understanding, of the sons of Mahli, the son of Levi, the son of Israel; and Sherebiah, with his sons and his brethren, eighteen;
- Et, comme la bonne main de notre Dieu était sur nous, ils nous amenèrent Schérébia, homme de sens, d'entre les fils de Machli, fils de Lévi, fils d'Israël, et avec lui ses fils et ses frères, au nombre de dix-huit; (Ⅱ) - Et adduxerunt nobis per manum Dei nostri bonam super nos, virum doctissimum de filiis Moholi filii Levi, filii Israël, et Sarabiam et filios ejus et fratres ejus decem et octo, (Ⅳ) - 18 ׃8 ויביאו לנו כיד אלהינו הטובה עלינו איש שכל מבני מחלי בן לוי בן ישראל ושרביה ובניו ואחיו שמנה עשר (Ⅴ)

And Hashabiah, and with him Jeshaiah of the sons of Merari, his brethren and their sons, twenty;
- Haschabia, et avec lui Ésaïe, d'entre les fils de Merari, ses frères et leurs fils, au nombre de vingt; (Ⅱ) - et Hasabiam, et cum eo Isaiam de filiis Merari, fratresque ejus, et filios ejus viginti : (Ⅳ) - 19 ׃8 ואת חשביה ואתו ישעיה מבני מררי אחיו ובניהם עשרים ס (Ⅴ)

Also of the Nethinims, whom David and the princes had appointed for the service of the Levites, two hundred and twenty Nethinims: all of them were expressed by name.
- et d'entre les Néthiniens, que David et les chefs avaient mis au service des Lévites, deux cent vingt Néthiniens, tous désignés par leurs noms. (Ⅱ) - et de Nathinæis, quos dederat David et principes ad ministeria Levitarum, Nathinæos ducentos viginti : omnes hi suis nominibus vocabantur. (Ⅳ) - 20 ׃8 ומן הנתינים שנתן דויד והשרים לעבדת הלוים נתינים מאתים ועשרים כלם נקבו בשמות (Ⅴ)

Then I proclaimed a fast there, at the river of Ahava, that we might afflict ourselves before our God, to seek of him a right way for us, and for our little ones, and for all our substance.
- Là, près du fleuve d'Ahava, je publiai un jeûne d'humiliation devant notre Dieu, afin d'implorer de lui un heureux voyage pour nous, pour nos enfants, et pour tout ce qui nous appartenait. (Ⅱ) - Et prædicavi ibi jejunium juxta fluvium Ahava, ut affligeremur coram Domino Deo nostro, et peteremus ab eo viam rectam nobis et filiis nostris, universæque substantiæ nostræ. (Ⅳ) - 21 ׃8 ואקרא שם צום על הנהר אהוא להתענות לפני אלהינו לבקש ממנו דרך ישרה לנו ולטפנו ולכל רכושנו (Ⅴ)

For I was ashamed to require of the king a band of soldiers and horsemen to help us against the enemy in the way: because we had spoken unto the king, saying, The hand of our God is upon all them for good that seek him; but his power and his wrath is against all them that forsake him.
- J'aurais eu honte de demander au roi une escorte et des cavaliers pour nous protéger contre l'ennemi pendant la route, car nous avions dit au roi: La main de notre Dieu est pour leur bien sur tous ceux qui le cherchent, mais sa force et sa colère sont sur tous ceux qui l'abandonnent. (Ⅱ) - Erubui enim petere a rege auxilium et equites, qui defenderent nos ab inimico in via : quia dixeramus regi : Manus Dei nostri est super omnes qui quærunt eum in bonitate : et imperium ejus, et fortitudo ejus, et furor, super omnes qui derelinquunt eum. (Ⅳ) - 22 ׃8 כי בשתי לשאול מן המלך חיל ופרשים לעזרנו מאויב בדרך כי אמרנו למלך לאמר יד אלהינו על כל מבקשיו לטובה ועזו ואפו על כל עזביו (Ⅴ)

So we fasted and besought our God for this: and he was intreated of us.
- C'est à cause de cela que nous jeûnâmes et que nous invoquâmes notre Dieu. Et il nous exauça. (Ⅱ) - Jejunavimus autem, et rogavimus Deum nostrum per hoc : et evenit nobis prospere. (Ⅳ) - 23 ׃8 ונצומה ונבקשה מאלהינו על זאת ויעתר לנו (Ⅴ)

Then I separated twelve of the chief of the priests, Sherebiah, Hashabiah, and ten of their brethren with them,
- Je choisis douze chefs des sacrificateurs, Schérébia, Haschabia, et dix de leurs frères. (Ⅱ) - Et separavi de principibus sacerdotum duodecim, Sarabiam, et Hasabiam, et cum eis de fratribus eorum decem : (Ⅳ) - 24 ׃8 ואבדילה משרי הכהנים שנים עשר לשרביה חשביה ועמהם מאחיהם עשרה (Ⅴ)

And weighed unto them the silver, and the gold, and the vessels, even the offering of the house of our God, which the king, and his counsellors, and his lords, and all Israel there present, had offered:
- Je pesai devant eux l'argent, l'or, et les ustensiles, donnés en offrande pour la maison de notre Dieu par le roi, ses conseillers et ses chefs, et par tous ceux d'Israël qu'on avait trouvés. (Ⅱ) - appendique eis argentum et aurum, et vasa consecrata domus Dei nostri, quæ obtulerat rex et consiliatores ejus, et principes ejus, universusque Israël eorum qui inventi fuerant : (Ⅳ) - 25 ׃8 *ואשקולה **ואשקלה[y] להם את הכסף ואת הזהב ואת הכלים תרומת בית אלהינו ההרימו המלך ויעציו ושריו וכל ישראל הנמצאים (Ⅴ)

I even weighed unto their hand six hundred and fifty talents of silver, and silver vessels an hundred talents, and of gold an hundred talents;
- Je remis entre leurs mains six cent cinquante talents d'argent, des ustensiles d'argent pour cent talents, cent talents d'or, (Ⅱ) - et appendi in manibus eorum argenti talenta sexcenta quinquaginta, et vasa argentea centum, auri centum talenta : (Ⅳ) - 26 ׃8 ואשקלה על ידם כסף ככרים שש מאות וחמשים וכלי כסף מאה לככרים זהב מאה ככר (Ⅴ)

Also twenty basons of gold, of a thousand drams; and two vessels of fine copper, precious as gold.

And I said unto them, Ye are holy unto the LORD; the vessels are holy also; and the silver and the gold are a freewill offering unto the LORD God of your fathers.
- Puis je leur dis: Vous êtes consacrés à l'Éternel; ces ustensiles sont des choses saintes, et cet argent et cet or sont une offrande volontaire à l'Éternel, le Dieu de vos pères. (Ⅱ) - Et dixi eis : Vos sancti Domini, et vasa sancta, et argentum et aurum, quod sponte oblatum est Domino Deo patrum nostrorum : (Ⅳ) - 28 ׃8 ואמרה אלהם אתם קדש ליהוה והכלים קדש והכסף והזהב נדבה ליהוה אלהי אבתיכם (Ⅴ)

Watch ye, and keep them, until ye weigh them before the chief of the priests and the Levites, and chief of the fathers of Israel, at Jerusalem, in the chambers of the house of the LORD.
- Soyez vigilants, et prenez cela sous votre garde, jusqu'à ce que vous le pesiez devant les chefs des sacrificateurs et les Lévites, et devant les chefs de familles d'Israël, à Jérusalem, dans les chambres de la maison de l'Éternel. (Ⅱ) - vigilate et custodite, donec appendatis coram principibus sacerdotum, et Levitarum, et ducibus familiarum Israël in Jerusalem, in thesaurum domus Domini. (Ⅳ) - 29 ׃8 שקדו ושמרו עד תשקלו לפני שרי הכהנים והלוים ושרי האבות לישראל בירושלם הלשכות בית יהוה (Ⅴ)

So took the priests and the Levites the weight of the silver, and the gold, and the vessels, to bring them to Jerusalem unto the house of our God.
- Et les sacrificateurs et les Lévites reçurent au poids l'argent, l'or et les ustensiles, pour les porter à Jérusalem, dans la maison de notre Dieu. (Ⅱ) - Susceperunt autem sacerdotes et Levitæ pondus argenti, et auri, et vasorum, ut deferrent Jerusalem in domum Dei nostri. (Ⅳ) - 30 ׃8 וקבלו הכהנים והלוים משקל הכסף והזהב והכלים להביא לירושלם לבית אלהינו פ (Ⅴ)

Then we departed from the river of Ahava on the twelfth day of the first month, to go unto Jerusalem: and the hand of our God was upon us, and he delivered us from the hand of the enemy, and of such as lay in wait by the way.
- Nous partîmes du fleuve d'Ahava pour nous rendre à Jérusalem, le douzième jour du premier mois. La main de notre Dieu fut sur nous et nous préserva des attaques de l'ennemi et de toute embûche pendant la route. (Ⅱ) - Promovimus ergo a flumine Ahava duodecimo die mensis primi ut pergeremus Jerusalem : et manus Dei nostri fuit super nos, et liberavit nos de manu inimici et insidiatoris in via.\ (Ⅳ) - 31 ׃8 ונסעה מנהר אהוא בשנים עשר לחדש הראשון ללכת ירושלם ויד אלהינו היתה עלינו ויצילנו מכף אויב ואורב על הדרך (Ⅴ)

And we came to Jerusalem, and abode there three days.
- Nous arrivâmes à Jérusalem, et nous nous y reposâmes trois jours. (Ⅱ) - Et venimus Jerusalem, et mansimus ibi tribus diebus. (Ⅳ) - 32 ׃8 ונבוא ירושלם ונשב שם ימים שלשה (Ⅴ)

Now on the fourth day was the silver and the gold and the vessels weighed in the house of our God by the hand of Meremoth the son of Uriah the priest; and with him was Eleazar the son of Phinehas; and with them was Jozabad the son of Jeshua, and Noadiah the son of Binnui, Levites;
- Le quatrième jour, nous pesâmes dans la maison de notre Dieu l'argent, l'or, et les ustensiles, que nous remîmes à Merémoth, fils d'Urie, le sacrificateur; il y avait avec lui Éléazar, fils de Phinées, et avec eux les Lévites Jozabad, fils de Josué, et Noadia, fils de Binnuï. (Ⅱ) - Die autem quarta appensum est argentum, et aurum, et vasa in domo Dei nostri per manum Meremoth filii Uriæ sacerdotis, et cum eo Eleazar filius Phinees, cumque eis Jozabed filius Josue, et Noadaia filius Bennoi Levitæ, (Ⅳ) - 33 ׃8 וביום הרביעי נשקל הכסף והזהב והכלים בבית אלהינו על יד מרמות בן אוריה הכהן ועמו אלעזר בן פינחס ועמהם יוזבד בן ישוע ונועדיה בן בנוי הלוים (Ⅴ)

By number and by weight of every one: and all the weight was written at that time.

Also the children of those that had been carried away, which were come out of the captivity, offered burnt offerings unto the God of Israel, twelve bullocks for all Israel, ninety and six rams, seventy and seven lambs, twelve he goats for a sin offering: all this was a burnt offering unto the LORD.
- Les fils de la captivité revenus de l'exil offrirent en holocauste au Dieu d'Israël douze taureaux pour tout Israël, quatre-vingt-seize béliers, soixante-dix-sept agneaux, et douze boucs comme victimes expiatoires, le tout en holocauste à l'Éternel. (Ⅱ) - Sed et qui venerant de captivitate filii transmigrationis, obtulerunt holocautomata Deo Israël, vitulos duodecim pro omni populo Israël, arietes nonaginta sex, agnos septuaginta septem, hircos pro peccato duodecim : omnia in holocaustum Domino. (Ⅳ) - 35 ׃8 הבאים מהשבי בני הגולה הקריבו עלות לאלהי ישראל פרים שנים עשר על כל ישראל אילים תשעים וששה כבשים שבעים ושבעה צפירי חטאת שנים עשר הכל עולה ליהוה פ (Ⅴ)

And they delivered the king's commissions unto the king's lieutenants, and to the governors on this side the river: and they furthered the people, and the house of God.
- Ils transmirent les ordres du roi aux satrapes du roi et aux gouverneurs de ce côté du fleuve, lesquels honorèrent le peuple et la maison de Dieu. (Ⅱ) - Dederunt autem edicta regis satrapis qui erant de conspectu regis, et ducibus trans flumen, et elevaverunt populum et domum Dei. (Ⅳ) - 36 ׃8 ויתנו את דתי המלך לאחשדרפני המלך ופחוות עבר הנהר ונשאו את העם ואת בית האלהים ס (Ⅴ)
