καὶ εἰ̃πεν κύριος πρὸς 'Ιησου̃ν μὴ φοβηθη̨̃ς μηδὲ δειλιάση̨ς λαβὲ μετὰ σου̃ τοὺς ἄνδρας πάντας τοὺς πολεμιστὰς καὶ ἀναστὰς ἀνάβηθι εἰς Γαι ἰδοὺ δέδωκα εἰς τὰς χει̃ράς σου τὸν βασιλέα Γαι καὶ τὴν γη̃ν αὐτου̃
- L'Éternel dit à Josué: Ne crains point, et ne t'effraie point! Prends avec toi tous les gens de guerre, lève-toi, monte contre Aï. Vois, je livre entre tes mains le roi d'Aï et son peuple, sa ville et son pays. (Ⅱ) - And the LORD said unto Joshua, Fear not, neither be thou dismayed: take all the people of war with thee, and arise, go up to Ai: see, I have given into thy hand the king of Ai, and his people, and his city, and his land: (Ⅲ) - Dixit autem Dominus ad Josue : Ne timeas, neque formides : tolle tecum omnem multitudinem pugnatorum, et consurgens ascende in oppidum Hai. Ecce tradidi in manu tua regem ejus et populum, urbemque et terram. (Ⅳ) - 1 ׃8 ויאמר יהוה אל יהושע אל תירא ואל תחת קח עמך את כל עם המלחמה וקום עלה העי ראה נתתי בידך את מלך העי ואת עמו ואת עירו ואת ארצו (Ⅴ)

καὶ ποιήσεις τὴν Γαι ὃν τρόπον ἐποίησας τὴν Ιεριχω καὶ τὸν βασιλέα αὐτη̃ς καὶ τὴν προνομὴν τω̃ν κτηνω̃ν προνομεύσεις σεαυτω̨̃ κατάστησον δὲ σεαυτω̨̃ ἔνεδρα τη̨̃ πόλει εἰς τὰ ὀπίσω
- Tu traiteras Aï et son roi comme tu as traité Jéricho et son roi; seulement vous garderez pour vous le butin et le bétail. Place une embuscade derrière la ville. (Ⅱ) - And thou shalt do to Ai and her king as thou didst unto Jericho and her king: only the spoil thereof, and the cattle thereof, shall ye take for a prey unto yourselves: lay thee an ambush for the city behind it. (Ⅲ) - Faciesque urbi Hai, et regi ejus, sicut fecisti Jericho, et regi illius : prædam vero, et omnia animantia diripietis vobis : pone insidias urbi post eam. (Ⅳ) - 2 ׃8 ועשית לעי ולמלכה כאשר עשית ליריחו ולמלכה רק שללה ובהמתה תבזו לכם שים לך ארב לעיר מאחריה (Ⅴ)

καὶ ἀνέστη 'Ιησου̃ς καὶ πα̃ς ὁ λαὸς ὁ πολεμιστὴς ὥστε ἀναβη̃ναι εἰς Γαι ἐπέλεξεν δὲ 'Ιησου̃ς τριάκοντα χιλιάδας ἀνδρω̃ν δυνατοὺς ἐν ἰσχύι καὶ ἀπέστειλεν αὐτοὺς νυκτός
- Josué se leva avec tous les gens de guerre, pour monter contre Aï. Il choisit trente mille vaillants hommes, qu'il fit partir de nuit, (Ⅱ) - So Joshua arose, and all the people of war, to go up against Ai: and Joshua chose out thirty thousand mighty men of valor, and sent them away by night. (Ⅲ) - Surrexitque Josue, et omnis exercitus bellatorum cum eo, ut ascenderent in Hai : et electa triginta millia virorum fortium misit nocte, (Ⅳ) - 3 ׃8 ויקם יהושע וכל עם המלחמה לעלות העי ויבחר יהושע שלשים אלף איש גבורי החיל וישלחם לילה (Ⅴ)

καὶ ἐνετείλατο αὐτοι̃ς λέγων ὑμει̃ς ἐνεδρεύσατε ὀπίσω τη̃ς πόλεως μὴ μακρὰν γίνεσθε ἀπὸ τη̃ς πόλεως καὶ ἔσεσθε πάντες ἕτοιμοι
- et auxquels il donna cet ordre: Écoutez, vous vous mettrez en embuscade derrière la ville; ne vous éloignez pas beaucoup de la ville, et soyez tous prêts. (Ⅱ) - And he commanded them, saying, Behold, ye shall lie in wait against the city, even behind the city: go not very far from the city, but be ye all ready: (Ⅲ) - præcepitque eis, dicens : Ponite insidias post civitatem, nec longius recedatis : et eritis omnes parati. (Ⅳ) - 4 ׃8 ויצו אתם לאמר ראו אתם ארבים לעיר מאחרי העיר אל תרחיקו מן העיר מאד והייתם כלכם נכנים (Ⅴ)

καὶ ἐγὼ καὶ πάντες οἱ μετ' ἐμου̃ προσάξομεν πρὸς τὴν πόλιν καὶ ἔσται ὡς ἂν ἐξέλθωσιν οἱ κατοικου̃ντες Γαι εἰς συνάντησιν ἡμι̃ν καθάπερ καὶ πρώ̨ην καὶ φευξόμεθα ἀπὸ προσώπου αὐτω̃ν
- Mais moi et tout le peuple qui est avec moi, nous nous approcherons de la ville. Et quand ils sortiront à notre rencontre, comme la première fois, nous prendrons la fuite devant eux. (Ⅱ) - And I, and all the people that are with me, will approach unto the city: and it shall come to pass, when they come out against us, as at the first, that we will flee before them, (Ⅲ) - Ego autem, et reliqua multitudo, quæ mecum est, accedemus ex adverso contra urbem. Cumque exierint contra nos, sicut ante fecimus, fugiemus, et terga vertemus, (Ⅳ) - 5 ׃8 ואני וכל העם אשר אתי נקרב אל העיר והיה כי יצאו לקראתנו כאשר בראשנה ונסנו לפניהם (Ⅴ)

καὶ ὡς ἂν ἐξέλθωσιν ὀπίσω ἡμω̃ν ἀποσπάσομεν αὐτοὺς ἀπὸ τη̃ς πόλεως καὶ ἐρου̃σιν φεύγουσιν οὑ̃τοι ἀπὸ προσώπου ἡμω̃ν ὃν τρόπον καὶ ἔμπροσθεν
- Ils nous poursuivront jusqu'à ce que nous les ayons attirés loin de la ville, car ils diront: Ils fuient devant nous, comme la première fois! Et nous fuirons devant eux. (Ⅱ) - (For they will come out after us) till we have drawn them from the city; for they will say, They flee before us, as at the first: therefore we will flee before them. (Ⅲ) - donec persequentes ab urbe longius protrahantur : putabunt enim nos fugere sicut prius. (Ⅳ) - 6 ׃8 ויצאו אחרינו עד התיקנו אותם מן העיר כי יאמרו נסים לפנינו כאשר בראשנה ונסנו לפניהם (Ⅴ)

ὑμει̃ς δὲ ἐξαναστήσεσθε ἐκ τη̃ς ἐνέδρας καὶ πορεύσεσθε εἰς τὴν πόλιν
- Vous sortirez alors de l'embuscade, et vous vous emparerez de la ville, et l'Éternel, votre Dieu, la livrera entre vos mains. (Ⅱ) - Then ye shall rise up from the ambush, and seize upon the city: for the LORD your God will deliver it into your hand. (Ⅲ) - Nobis ergo fugientibus, et illis persequentibus, consurgetis de insidiis, et vastabitis civitatem : tradetque eam Dominus Deus vester in manus vestras. (Ⅳ) - 7 ׃8 ואתם תקמו מהאורב והורשתם את העיר ונתנה יהוה אלהיכם בידכם (Ⅴ)

κατὰ τὸ ῥη̃μα του̃το ποιήσετε ἰδοὺ ἐντέταλμαι ὑμι̃ν
- Quand vous aurez pris la ville, vous y mettrez le feu, vous agirez comme l'Éternel l'a dit: c'est l'ordre que je vous donne. (Ⅱ) - And it shall be, when ye have taken the city, that ye shall set the city on fire: according to the commandment of the LORD shall ye do. See, I have commanded you. (Ⅲ) - Cumque ceperitis, succendite eam, et sic omnia facietis, ut jussi.\ (Ⅳ) - 8 ׃8 והיה כתפשכם את העיר תציתו את העיר באש כדבר יהוה תעשו ראו צויתי אתכם (Ⅴ)

καὶ ἀπέστειλεν αὐτοὺς 'Ιησου̃ς καὶ ἐπορεύθησαν εἰς τὴν ἐνέδραν καὶ ἐνεκάθισαν ἀνὰ μέσον Βαιθηλ καὶ ἀνὰ μέσον Γαι ἀπὸ θαλάσσης τη̃ς Γαι
- Josué les fit partir, et ils allèrent se placer en embuscade entre Béthel et Aï, à l'occident d'Aï. Mais Josué passa cette nuit-là au milieu du peuple. (Ⅱ) - Joshua therefore sent them forth: and they went to lie in ambush, and abode between Bethel and Ai, on the west side of Ai: but Joshua lodged that night among the people. (Ⅲ) - Dimisitque eos, et perrexerunt ad locum insidiarum, sederuntque inter Bethel et Hai, ad occidentalem plagam urbis Hai : Josue autem nocte illa in medio mansit populi, (Ⅳ) - 9 ׃8 וישלחם יהושע וילכו אל המארב וישבו בין בית אל ובין העי מים לעי וילן יהושע בלילה ההוא בתוך העם (Ⅴ)

καὶ ὀρθρίσας 'Ιησου̃ς τὸ πρωὶ ἐπεσκέψατο τὸν λαόν καὶ ἀνέβησαν αὐτὸς καὶ οἱ πρεσβύτεροι κατὰ πρόσωπον του̃ λαου̃ ἐπὶ Γαι
- Josué se leva de bon matin, passa le peuple en revue, et marcha contre Aï, à la tête du peuple, lui et les anciens d'Israël. (Ⅱ) - And Joshua rose up early in the morning, and numbered the people, and went up, he and the elders of Israel, before the people to Ai. (Ⅲ) - surgensque diluculo recensuit socios, et ascendit cum senioribus in fronte exercitus, vallatus auxilio pugnatorum. (Ⅳ) - 10 ׃8 וישכם יהושע בבקר ויפקד את העם ויעל הוא וזקני ישראל לפני העם העי (Ⅴ)

καὶ πα̃ς ὁ λαὸς ὁ πολεμιστὴς μετ' αὐτου̃ ἀνέβησαν καὶ πορευόμενοι ἠ̃λθον ἐξ ἐναντίας τη̃ς πόλεως ἀπ' ἀνατολω̃ν
- Tous les gens de guerre qui étaient avec lui montèrent et s'approchèrent; lorsqu'ils furent arrivés en face de la ville, ils campèrent au nord d'Aï, dont ils étaient séparés par la vallée. (Ⅱ) - And all the people, even the people of war that were with him, went up, and drew nigh, and came before the city, and pitched on the north side of Ai: now there was a valley between them and Ai. (Ⅲ) - Cumque venissent et ascendissent ex adverso civitatis, steterunt ad septentrionalem urbis plagam, inter quam et eos erat vallis media. (Ⅳ) - 11 ׃8 וכל העם המלחמה אשר אתו עלו ויגשו ויבאו נגד העיר ויחנו מצפון לעי והגי *בינו **ביניו ובין העי (Ⅴ)

καὶ τὰ ἔνεδρα τη̃ς πόλεως ἀπὸ θαλάσσης
- Josué prit environ cinq mille hommes, et les mit en embuscade entre Béthel et Aï, à l'occident de la ville. (Ⅱ) - And he took about five thousand men, and set them to lie in ambush between Bethel and Ai, on the west side of the city. (Ⅲ) - Quinque autem millia viros elegerat, et posuerat in insidiis inter Bethel et Hai ex occidentali parte ejusdem civitatis : (Ⅳ) - 12 ׃8 ויקח כחמשת אלפים איש וישם אותם ארב בין בית אל ובין העי מים לעיר (Ⅴ)

- Après que tout le camp eut pris position au nord de la ville, et l'embuscade à l'occident de la ville, Josué s'avança cette nuit-là au milieu de la vallée. (Ⅱ) - And when they had set the people, even all the host that was on the north of the city, and their liers in wait on the west of the city, Joshua went that night into the midst of the valley. (Ⅲ) - omnis vero reliquus exercitus ad aquilonem aciem dirigebat, ita ut novissimi illius multitudinis occidentalem plagam urbis attingerent. Abiit ergo Josue nocte illa, et stetit in vallis medio.\ (Ⅳ) - 13 ׃8 וישימו העם את כל המחנה אשר מצפון לעיר ואת עקבו מים לעיר וילך יהושע בלילה ההוא בתוך העמק (Ⅴ)

καὶ ἐγένετο ὡς εἰ̃δεν βασιλεὺς Γαι ἔσπευσεν καὶ ἐξη̃λθεν εἰς συνάντησιν αὐτοι̃ς ἐπ' εὐθείας εἰς τὸν πόλεμον αὐτὸς καὶ πα̃ς ὁ λαὸς ὁ μετ' αὐτου̃ καὶ αὐτὸς οὐκ ἤ̨δει ὅτι ἔνεδρα αὐτω̨̃ ἐστιν ὀπίσω τη̃ς πόλεως
- Lorsque le roi d'Aï vit cela, les gens d'Aï se levèrent en hâte de bon matin, et sortirent à la rencontre d'Israël, pour le combattre. Le roi se dirigea, avec tout son peuple, vers un lieu fixé, du côté de la plaine, et il ne savait pas qu'il y avait derrière la ville une embuscade contre lui. (Ⅱ) - And it came to pass, when the king of Ai saw it, that they hasted and rose up early, and the men of the city went out against Israel to battle, he and all his people, at a time appointed, before the plain; but he wist not that there were liers in ambush against him behind the city. (Ⅲ) - Quod cum vidisset rex Hai, festinavit mane, et egressus est cum omni exercitu civitatis, direxitque aciem contra desertum, ignorans quod post tergum laterent insidiæ. (Ⅳ) - 14 ׃8 ויהי כראות מלך העי וימהרו וישכימו ויצאו אנשי העיר לקראת ישראל למלחמה הוא וכל עמו למועד לפני הערבה והוא לא ידע כי ארב לו מאחרי העיר (Ⅴ)

καὶ εἰ̃δεν καὶ ἀνεχώρησεν 'Ιησου̃ς καὶ Ισραηλ ἀπὸ προσώπου αὐτω̃ν
- Josué et tout Israël feignirent d'être battus devant eux, et ils s'enfuirent par le chemin du désert. (Ⅱ) - And Joshua and all Israel made as if they were beaten before them, and fled by the way of the wilderness. (Ⅲ) - Josue vero et omnis Israël cesserunt loco, simulantes metum, et fugientes per solitudinis viam. (Ⅳ) - 15 ׃8 וינגעו יהושע וכל ישראל לפניהם וינסו דרך המדבר (Ⅴ)

καὶ κατεδίωξαν ὀπίσω τω̃ν υἱω̃ν Ισραηλ καὶ αὐτοὶ ἀπέστησαν ἀπὸ τη̃ς πόλεως
- Alors tout le peuple qui était dans la ville s'assembla pour se mettre à leur poursuite. Ils poursuivirent Josué, et ils furent attirés loin de la ville. (Ⅱ) - And all the people that were in Ai were called together to pursue after them: and they pursued after Joshua, and were drawn away from the city. (Ⅲ) - At illi vociferantes pariter, et se mutuo cohortantes, persecuti sunt eos. Cumque recessissent a civitate, (Ⅳ) - 16 ׃8 ויזעקו כל העם אשר *בעיר **בעי לרדף אחריהם וירדפו אחרי יהושע וינתקו מן העיר (Ⅴ)

οὐ κατελείφθη οὐθεὶς ἐν τη̨̃ Γαι ὃς οὐ κατεδίωξεν ὀπίσω Ισραηλ καὶ κατέλιπον τὴν πόλιν ἀνεω̨γμένην καὶ κατεδίωξαν ὀπίσω Ισραηλ
- Il n'y eut dans Aï et dans Béthel pas un homme qui ne sortit contre Israël. Ils laissèrent la ville ouverte, et poursuivirent Israël. (Ⅱ) - And there was not a man left in Ai or Bethel, that went not out after Israel: and they left the city open, and pursued after Israel. (Ⅲ) - et ne unus quidem in urbe Hai et Bethel remansisset qui non persequeretur Israël (sicut eruperant aperta oppida relinquentes), (Ⅳ) - 17 ׃8 ולא נשאר איש בעי ובית אל אשר לא יצאו אחרי ישראל ויעזבו את העיר פתוחה וירדפו אחרי ישראל פ (Ⅴ)

καὶ εἰ̃πεν κύριος πρὸς 'Ιησου̃ν ἔκτεινον τὴν χει̃ρά σου ἐν τω̨̃ γαίσω̨ τω̨̃ ἐν τη̨̃ χειρί σου ἐπὶ τὴν πόλιν εἰς γὰρ τὰς χει̃ράς σου παραδέδωκα αὐτήν καὶ τὰ ἔνεδρα ἐξαναστήσονται ἐν τάχει ἐκ του̃ τόπου αὐτω̃ν καὶ ἐξέτεινεν 'Ιησου̃ς τὴν χει̃ρα αὐτου̃ τὸν γαι̃σον ἐπὶ τὴν πόλιν
- L'Éternel dit à Josué: Étends vers Aï le javelot que tu as à la main, car je vais la livrer en ton pouvoir. Et Josué étendit vers la ville le javelot qu'il avait à la main. (Ⅱ) - And the LORD said unto Joshua, Stretch out the spear that is in thy hand toward Ai; for I will give it into thine hand. And Joshua stretched out the spear that he had in his hand toward the city. (Ⅲ) - dixit Dominus ad Josue : Leva clypeum, qui in manu tua est, contra urbem Hai, quoniam tibi tradam eam. (Ⅳ) - 18 ׃8 ויאמר יהוה אל יהושע נטה בכידון אשר בידך אל העי כי בידך אתננה ויט יהושע בכידון אשר בידו אל העיר (Ⅴ)

καὶ τὰ ἔνεδρα ἐξανέστησαν ἐν τάχει ἐκ του̃ τόπου αὐτω̃ν καὶ ἐξήλθοσαν ὅτε ἐξέτεινεν τὴν χει̃ρα καὶ ἤλθοσαν ἐπὶ τὴν πόλιν καὶ κατελάβοντο αὐτὴν καὶ σπεύσαντες ἐνέπρησαν τὴν πόλιν ἐν πυρί
- Aussitôt qu'il eut étendu sa main, les hommes en embuscade sortirent précipitamment du lieu où ils étaient; ils pénétrèrent dans la ville, la prirent, et se hâtèrent d'y mettre le feu. (Ⅱ) - And the ambush arose quickly out of their place, and they ran as soon as he had stretched out his hand: and they entered into the city, and took it, and hasted and set the city on fire. (Ⅲ) - Cumque elevasset clypeum ex adverso civitatis, insidiæ, quæ latebant, surrexerunt confestim : et pergentes ad civitatem, ceperunt, et succenderunt eam. (Ⅳ) - 19 ׃8 והאורב קם מהרה ממקומו וירוצו כנטות ידו ויבאו העיר וילכדוה וימהרו ויציתו את העיר באש (Ⅴ)

καὶ περιβλέψαντες οἱ κάτοικοι Γαι εἰς τὰ ὀπίσω αὐτω̃ν καὶ ἐθεώρουν καπνὸν ἀναβαίνοντα ἐκ τη̃ς πόλεως εἰς τὸν οὐρανόν καὶ οὐκέτι εἰ̃χον που̃ φύγωσιν ὡ̃δε ἢ ὡ̃δε
- Les gens d'Aï, ayant regardé derrière eux, virent la fumée de la ville monter vers le ciel, et ils ne purent se sauver d'aucun côté. Le peuple qui fuyait vers le désert se retourna contre ceux qui le poursuivaient; (Ⅱ) - And when the men of Ai looked behind them, they saw, and, behold, the smoke of the city ascended up to heaven, and they had no power to flee this way or that way: and the people that fled to the wilderness turned back upon the pursuers. (Ⅲ) - Viri autem civitatis, qui persequebantur Josue, respicientes et videntes fumum urbis ad cælum usque conscendere, non potuerunt ultra huc illucque diffugere : præsertim cum hi qui simulaverant fugam, et tendebant ad solitudinem, contra persequentes fortissime restitissent. (Ⅳ) - 20 ׃8 ויפנו אנשי העי אחריהם ויראו והנה עלה עשן העיר השמימה ולא היה בהם ידים לנוס הנה והנה והעם הנס המדבר נהפך אל הרודף (Ⅴ)

καὶ 'Ιησου̃ς καὶ πα̃ς Ισραηλ εἰ̃δον ὅτι ἔλαβον τὰ ἔνεδρα τὴν πόλιν καὶ ὅτι ἀνέβη ὁ καπνὸς τη̃ς πόλεως εἰς τὸν οὐρανόν καὶ μεταβαλόμενοι ἐπάταξαν τοὺς ἄνδρας τη̃ς Γαι
- car Josué et tout Israël, voyant la ville prise par les hommes de l'embuscade, et la fumée de la ville qui montait, se retournèrent et battirent les gens d'Aï. (Ⅱ) - And when Joshua and all Israel saw that the ambush had taken the city, and that the smoke of the city ascended, then they turned again, and slew the men of Ai. (Ⅲ) - Vidensque Josue et omnis Israël quod capta esset civitas, et fumus urbis ascenderet, reversus percussit viros Hai. (Ⅳ) - 21 ׃8 ויהושע וכל ישראל ראו כי לכד הארב את העיר וכי עלה עשן העיר וישבו ויכו את אנשי העי (Ⅴ)

καὶ οὑ̃τοι ἐξήλθοσαν ἐκ τη̃ς πόλεως εἰς συνάντησιν καὶ ἐγενήθησαν ἀνὰ μέσον τη̃ς παρεμβολη̃ς οὑ̃τοι ἐντευ̃θεν καὶ οὑ̃τοι ἐντευ̃θεν καὶ ἐπάταξαν ἕως του̃ μὴ καταλειφθη̃ναι αὐτω̃ν σεσωσμένον καὶ διαπεφευγότα
- Les autres sortirent de la ville à leur rencontre, et les gens d'Aï furent enveloppés par Israël de toutes parts. Israël les battit, sans leur laisser un survivant ni un fuyard; (Ⅱ) - And the other issued out of the city against them; so they were in the midst of Israel, some on this side, and some on that side: and they smote them, so that they let none of them remain or escape. (Ⅲ) - Siquidem et illi qui ceperant et succenderant civitatem, egressi ex urbe contra suos, medios hostium ferire cœperunt. Cum ergo ex utraque parte adversarii cæderentur, ita ut nullus de tanta multitudine salvaretur, (Ⅳ) - 22 ׃8 ואלה יצאו מן העיר לקראתם ויהיו לישראל בתוך אלה מזה ואלה מזה ויכו אותם עד בלתי השאיר לו שריד ופליט (Ⅴ)

καὶ τὸν βασιλέα τη̃ς Γαι συνέλαβον ζω̃ντα καὶ προσήγαγον αὐτὸν πρὸς 'Ιησου̃ν
- ils prirent vivant le roi d'Aï, et l'amenèrent à Josué. (Ⅱ) - And the king of Ai they took alive, and brought him to Joshua. (Ⅲ) - regem quoque urbis Hai apprehenderunt viventem, et obtulerunt Josue.\ (Ⅳ) - 23 ׃8 ואת מלך העי תפשו חי ויקרבו אתו אל יהושע (Ⅴ)

καὶ ὡς ἐπαύσαντο οἱ υἱοὶ Ισραηλ ἀποκτέννοντες πάντας τοὺς ἐν τη̨̃ Γαι τοὺς ἐν τοι̃ς πεδίοις καὶ ἐν τω̨̃ ὄρει ἐπὶ τη̃ς καταβάσεως οὑ̃ κατεδίωξαν αὐτοὺς ἀπ' αὐτη̃ς εἰς τέλος καὶ ἀπέστρεψεν 'Ιησου̃ς εἰς Γαι καὶ ἐπάταξεν αὐτὴν ἐν στόματι ῥομφαίας
- Lorsqu'Israël eut achevé de tuer tous les habitants d'Aï dans la campagne, dans le désert, où ils l'avaient poursuivi, et que tous furent entièrement passés au fil de l'épée, tout Israël revint vers Aï et la frappa du tranchant de l'épée. (Ⅱ) - And it came to pass, when Israel had made an end of slaying all the inhabitants of Ai in the field, in the wilderness wherein they chased them, and when they were all fallen on the edge of the sword, until they were consumed, that all the Israelites returned unto Ai, and smote it with the edge of the sword. (Ⅲ) - Igitur omnibus interfectis, qui Israëlem ad deserta tendentem fuerant persecuti, et in eodem loco gladio corruentibus, reversi filii Israël percusserunt civitatem. (Ⅳ) - 24 ׃8 ויהי ככלות ישראל להרג את כל ישבי העי בשדה במדבר אשר רדפום בו ויפלו כלם לפי חרב עד תמם וישבו כל ישראל העי ויכו אתה לפי חרב (Ⅴ)

καὶ ἐγενήθησαν οἱ πεσόντες ἐν τη̨̃ ἡμέρα̨ ἐκείνη̨ ἀπὸ ἀνδρὸς καὶ ἕως γυναικὸς δώδεκα χιλιάδες πάντας τοὺς κατοικου̃ντας Γαι
- Il y eut au total douze mille personnes tuées ce jour-là, hommes et femmes, tous gens d'Aï. (Ⅱ) - And so it was, that all that fell that day, both of men and women, were twelve thousand, even all the men of Ai. (Ⅲ) - Erant autem qui in eodem die conciderant a viro usque ad mulierem, duodecim millia hominum, omnes urbis Hai. (Ⅳ) - 25 ׃8 ויהי כל הנפלים ביום ההוא מאיש ועד אשה שנים עשר אלף כל אנשי העי (Ⅴ)

- Josué ne retira point sa main qu'il tenait étendue avec le javelot, jusqu'à ce que tous les habitants eussent été dévoués par interdit. (Ⅱ) - For Joshua drew not his hand back, wherewith he stretched out the spear, until he had utterly destroyed all the inhabitants of Ai. (Ⅲ) - Josue vero non contraxit manum, quam in sublime porrexerat, tenens clypeum donec interficerentur omnes habitatores Hai. (Ⅳ) - 26 ׃8 ויהושע לא השיב ידו אשר נטה בכידון עד אשר החרים את כל ישבי העי (Ⅴ)

πλὴν τω̃ν κτηνω̃ν καὶ τω̃ν σκύλων τω̃ν ἐν τη̨̃ πόλει πάντα ἃ ἐπρονόμευσαν οἱ υἱοὶ Ισραηλ κατὰ πρόσταγμα κυρίου ὃν τρόπον συνέταξεν κύριος τω̨̃ 'Ιησοι̃
- Seulement Israël garda pour lui le bétail et le butin de cette ville, selon l'ordre que l'Éternel avait prescrit à Josué. (Ⅱ) - Only the cattle and the spoil of that city Israel took for a prey unto themselves, according unto the word of the LORD which he commanded Joshua. (Ⅲ) - Jumenta autem et prædam civitatis diviserunt sibi filii Israël, sicut præceperat Dominus Josue. (Ⅳ) - 27 ׃8 רק הבהמה ושלל העיר ההיא בזזו להם ישראל כדבר יהוה אשר צוה את יהושע (Ⅴ)

καὶ ἐνεπύρισεν 'Ιησου̃ς τὴν πόλιν ἐν πυρί χω̃μα ἀοίκητον εἰς τὸν αἰω̃να ἔθηκεν αὐτὴν ἕως τη̃ς ἡμέρας ταύτης
- Josué brûla Aï, et en fit à jamais un monceau de ruines, qui subsiste encore aujourd'hui. (Ⅱ) - And Joshua burnt Ai, and made it an heap for ever, even a desolation unto this day. (Ⅲ) - Qui succendit urbem, et fecit eam tumulum sempiternum : (Ⅳ) - 28 ׃8 וישרף יהושע את העי וישימה תל עולם שממה עד היום הזה (Ⅴ)

καὶ τὸν βασιλέα τη̃ς Γαι ἐκρέμασεν ἐπὶ ξύλου διδύμου καὶ ἠ̃ν ἐπὶ του̃ ξύλου ἕως ἑσπέρας καὶ ἐπιδύνοντος του̃ ἡλίου συνέταξεν 'Ιησου̃ς καὶ καθείλοσαν αὐτου̃ τὸ σω̃μα ἀπὸ του̃ ξύλου καὶ ἔρριψαν αὐτὸν εἰς τὸν βόθρον καὶ ἐπέστησαν αὐτω̨̃ σωρὸν λίθων ἕως τη̃ς ἡμέρας ταύτης
- Il fit pendre à un bois le roi d'Aï, et l'y laissa jusqu'au soir. Au coucher du soleil, Josué ordonna qu'on descendît son cadavre du bois; on le jeta à l'entrée de la porte de la ville, et l'on éleva sur lui un grand monceau de pierres, qui subsiste encore aujourd'hui. (Ⅱ) - And the king of Ai he hanged on a tree until eventide: and as soon as the sun was down, Joshua commanded that they should take his carcass down from the tree, and cast it at the entering of the gate of the city, and raise thereon a great heap of stones, that remaineth unto this day. (Ⅲ) - regem quoque ejus suspendit in patibulo usque ad vesperam et solis occasum. Præcepitque Josue, et deposuerunt cadaver ejus de cruce : projeceruntque in ipso introitu civitatis, congesto super eum magno acervo lapidum, qui permanet usque in præsentem diem.\ (Ⅳ) - 29 ׃8 ואת מלך העי תלה על העץ עד עת הערב וכבוא השמש צוה יהושע וירידו את נבלתו מן העץ וישליכו אותה אל פתח שער העיר ויקימו עליו גל אבנים גדול עד היום הזה פ (Ⅴ)

τότε ὠ̨κοδόμησεν 'Ιησου̃ς θυσιαστήριον κυρίω̨ τω̨̃ θεω̨̃ Ισραηλ ἐν ὄρει Γαιβαλ
- Alors Josué bâtit un autel à l'Éternel, le Dieu d'Israël, sur le mont Ébal, (Ⅱ) - Then Joshua built an altar unto the LORD God of Israel in mount Ebal, (Ⅲ) - Tunc ædificavit Josue altare Domino Deo Israël in monte Hebal, (Ⅳ) - 30 ׃8 אז יבנה יהושע מזבח ליהוה אלהי ישראל בהר עיבל (Ⅴ)

καθότι ἐνετείλατο Μωυση̃ς ὁ θεράπων κυρίου τοι̃ς υἱοι̃ς Ισραηλ καθὰ γέγραπται ἐν τω̨̃ νόμω̨ Μωυση̃ θυσιαστήριον λίθων ὁλοκλήρων ἐφ' οὓς οὐκ ἐπεβλήθη σίδηρος καὶ ἀνεβίβασεν ἐκει̃ ὁλοκαυτώματα κυρίω̨ καὶ θυσίαν σωτηρίου
- comme Moïse, serviteur de l'Éternel, l'avait ordonné aux enfants d'Israël, et comme il est écrit dans le livre de la loi de Moïse: c'était un autel de pierres brutes, sur lesquelles on ne porta point le fer. Ils offrirent sur cet autel des holocaustes à l'Éternel, et ils présentèrent des sacrifices d'actions de grâces. (Ⅱ) - As Moses the servant of the LORD commanded the children of Israel, as it is written in the book of the law of Moses, an altar of whole stones, over which no man hath lift up any iron: and they offered thereon burnt offerings unto the LORD, and sacrificed peace offerings. (Ⅲ) - sicut præceperat Moyses famulus Domini filiis Israël, et scriptum est in volumine legis Moysi : altare vero de lapidibus impolitis, quos ferrum non tetigit : et obtulit super eo holocausta Domino, immolavitque pacificas victimas. (Ⅳ) - 31 ׃8 כאשר צוה משה עבד יהוה את בני ישראל ככתוב בספר תורת משה מזבח אבנים שלמות אשר לא הניף עליהן ברזל ויעלו עליו עלות ליהוה ויזבחו שלמים (Ⅴ)

καὶ ἔγραψεν 'Ιησου̃ς ἐπὶ τω̃ν λίθων τὸ δευτερονόμιον νόμον Μωυση̃ ὃν ἔγραψεν ἐνώπιον υἱω̃ν Ισραηλ
- Et là Josué écrivit sur les pierres une copie de la loi que Moïse avait écrite devant les enfants d'Israël. (Ⅱ) - And he wrote there upon the stones a copy of the law of Moses, which he wrote in the presence of the children of Israel. (Ⅲ) - Et scripsit super lapides Deuteronomium legis Moysi, quod ille digesserat coram filiis Israël. (Ⅳ) - 32 ׃8 ויכתב שם על האבנים את משנה תורת משה אשר כתב לפני בני ישראל (Ⅴ)

καὶ πα̃ς Ισραηλ καὶ οἱ πρεσβύτεροι αὐτω̃ν καὶ οἱ δικασταὶ καὶ οἱ γραμματει̃ς αὐτω̃ν παρεπορεύοντο ἔνθεν καὶ ἔνθεν τη̃ς κιβωτου̃ ἀπέναντι καὶ οἱ ἱερει̃ς καὶ οἱ Λευι̃ται ἠ̃ραν τὴν κιβωτὸν τη̃ς διαθήκης κυρίου καὶ ὁ προσήλυτος καὶ ὁ αὐτόχθων οἳ ἠ̃σαν ἥμισυ πλησίον ὄρους Γαριζιν καὶ οἳ ἠ̃σαν ἥμισυ πλησίον ὄρους Γαιβαλ καθότι ἐνετείλατο Μωυση̃ς ὁ θεράπων κυρίου εὐλογη̃σαι τὸν λαὸν ἐν πρώτοις
- Tout Israël, ses anciens, ses officiers et ses juges, se tenaient des deux côtés de l'arche, devant les sacrificateurs, les Lévites, qui portaient l'arche de l'alliance de l'Éternel; les étrangers comme les enfants d'Israël étaient là, moitié du côté du mont Garizim, moitié du côté du mont Ébal, selon l'ordre qu'avait précédemment donné Moïse, serviteur de l'Éternel, de bénir le peuple d'Israël. (Ⅱ) - And all Israel, and their elders, and officers, and their judges, stood on this side the ark and on that side before the priests the Levites, which bare the ark of the covenant of the LORD, as well the stranger, as he that was born among them; half of them over against mount Gerizim, and half of them over against mount Ebal; as Moses the servant of the LORD had commanded before, that they should bless the people of Israel. (Ⅲ) - Omnis autem populus, et majores natu, ducesque ac judices, stabant ex utraque parte arcæ, in conspectu sacerdotum qui portabant arcam fœderis Domini, ut advena, ita et indigena. Media pars eorum juxta montem Garizim, et media juxta montem Hebal, sicut præceperat Moyses famulus Domini. Et primum quidem benedixit populo Israël. (Ⅳ) - 33 ׃8 וכל ישראל וזקניו ושטרים ושפטיו עמדים מזה ומזה לארון נגד הכהנים הלוים נשאי ארון ברית יהוה כגר כאזרח חציו אל מול הר גרזים והחציו אל מול הר עיבל כאשר צוה משה עבד יהוה לברך את העם ישראל בראשנה (Ⅴ)

καὶ μετὰ ταυ̃τα οὕτως ἀνέγνω 'Ιησου̃ς πάντα τὰ ῥήματα του̃ νόμου τούτου τὰς εὐλογίας καὶ τὰς κατάρας κατὰ πάντα τὰ γεγραμμένα ἐν τω̨̃ νόμω̨ Μωυση̃
- Josué lut ensuite toutes les paroles de la loi, les bénédictions et les malédictions, suivant ce qui est écrit dans le livre de la loi. (Ⅱ) - And afterward he read all the words of the law, the blessings and cursings, according to all that is written in the book of the law. (Ⅲ) - Post hæc legit omnia verba benedictionis et maledictionis, et cuncta quæ scripta erant in legis volumine. (Ⅳ) - 34 ׃8 ואחרי כן קרא את כל דברי התורה הברכה והקללה ככל הכתוב בספר התורה (Ⅴ)

οὐκ ἠ̃ν ῥη̃μα ἀπὸ πάντων ὡ̃ν ἐνετείλατο Μωυση̃ς τω̨̃ 'Ιησοι̃ ὃ οὐκ ἀνέγνω 'Ιησου̃ς εἰς τὰ ὠ̃τα πάσης ἐκκλησίας υἱω̃ν Ισραηλ τοι̃ς ἀνδράσιν καὶ ται̃ς γυναιξὶν καὶ τοι̃ς παιδίοις καὶ τοι̃ς προσηλύτοις τοι̃ς προσπορευομένοις τω̨̃ Ισραηλ
- Il n'y eut rien de tout ce que Moïse avait prescrit, que Josué ne lût en présence de toute l'assemblée d'Israël, des femmes et des enfants, et des étrangers qui marchaient au milieu d'eux. (Ⅱ) - There was not a word of all that Moses commanded, which Joshua read not before all the congregation of Israel, with the women, and the little ones, and the strangers that were conversant among them. (Ⅲ) - Nihil ex his quæ Moyses jusserat, reliquit intactum, sed universa replicavit coram omni multitudine Israël, mulieribus ac parvulis, et advenis qui inter eos morabantur. (Ⅳ) - 35 ׃8 לא היה דבר מכל אשר צוה משה אשר לא קרא יהושע נגד כל קהל ישראל והנשים והטף והגר ההלך בקרבם פ (Ⅴ)
