1 ׃29 איש תוכחות מקשה ערף פתע ישבר ואין מרפא
- Un homme qui mérite d'être repris, et qui raidit le cou, Sera brisé subitement et sans remède. (Ⅱ) - He, that being often reproved hardeneth his neck, shall suddenly be destroyed, and that without remedy. (Ⅲ) - Viro qui corripientem dura cervice contemnit,/ repentinus ei superveniet interitus,/ et eum sanitas non sequetur./ (Ⅴ)

2 ׃29 ברבות צדיקים ישמח העם ובמשל רשע יאנח עם
- Quand les justes se multiplient, le peuple est dans la joie; Quand le méchant domine, le peuple gémit. (Ⅱ) - When the righteous are in authority, the people rejoice: but when the wicked beareth rule, the people mourn. (Ⅲ) - In multiplicatione justorum lætabitur vulgus ;/ cum impii sumpserint principatum, gemet populus./ (Ⅴ)

3 ׃29 איש אהב חכמה ישמח אביו ורעה זונות יאבד הון
- Un homme qui aime la sagesse réjouit son père, Mais celui qui fréquente des prostituées dissipe son bien. (Ⅱ) - Whoso loveth wisdom rejoiceth his father: but he that keepeth company with harlots spendeth his substance. (Ⅲ) - Vir qui amat sapientiam lætificat patrem suum ;/ qui autem nutrit scorta perdet substantiam./ (Ⅴ)

4 ׃29 מלך במשפט יעמיד ארץ ואיש תרומות יהרסנה
- Un roi affermit le pays par la justice, Mais celui qui reçoit des présents le ruine. (Ⅱ) - The king by judgment establisheth the land: but he that receiveth gifts overthroweth it. (Ⅲ) - Rex justus erigit terram ;/ vir avarus destruet eam./ (Ⅴ)

5 ׃29 גבר מחליק על רעהו רשת פורש על פעמיו
- Un homme qui flatte son prochain Tend un filet sous ses pas. (Ⅱ) - A man that flattereth his neighbour spreadeth a net for his feet. (Ⅲ) - Homo qui blandis fictisque sermonibus loquitur amico suo/ rete expandit gressibus ejus./ (Ⅴ)

6 ׃29 בפשע איש רע מוקש וצדיק ירון ושמח
- Il y a un piège dans le péché de l'homme méchant, Mais le juste triomphe et se réjouit. (Ⅱ) - In the transgression of an evil man there is a snare: but the righteous doth sing and rejoice. (Ⅲ) - Peccantem virum iniquum involvet laqueus,/ et justus laudabit atque gaudebit./ (Ⅴ)

7 ׃29 ידע צדיק דין דלים רשע לא יבין דעת
- Le juste connaît la cause des pauvres, Mais le méchant ne comprend pas la science. (Ⅱ) - The righteous considereth the cause of the poor: but the wicked regardeth not to know it. (Ⅲ) - Novit justus causam pauperum ;/ impius ignorat scientiam./ (Ⅴ)

8 ׃29 אנשי לצון יפיחו קריה וחכמים ישיבו אף
- Les moqueurs soufflent le feu dans la ville, Mais les sages calment la colère. (Ⅱ) - Scornful men bring a city into a snare: but wise men turn away wrath. (Ⅲ) - Homines pestilentes dissipant civitatem ;/ sapientes vero avertunt furorem./ (Ⅴ)

9 ׃29 איש חכם נשפט את איש אויל ורגז ושחק ואין נחת
- Si un homme sage conteste avec un insensé, Il aura beau se fâcher ou rire, la paix n'aura pas lieu. (Ⅱ) - If a wise man contendeth with a foolish man, whether he rage or laugh, there is no rest. (Ⅲ) - Vir sapiens si cum stulto contenderit,/ sive irascatur, sive rideat, non inveniet requiem./ (Ⅴ)

10 ׃29 אנשי דמים ישנאו תם וישרים יבקשו נפשו
- Les hommes de sang haïssent l'homme intègre, Mais les hommes droits protègent sa vie. (Ⅱ) - The bloodthirsty hate the upright: but the just seek his soul. (Ⅲ) - Viri sanguinum oderunt simplicem ;/ justi autem quærunt animam ejus./ (Ⅴ)

11 ׃29 כל רוחו יוציא כסיל וחכם באחור ישבחנה
- L'insensé met en dehors toute sa passion, Mais le sage la contient. (Ⅱ) - A fool uttereth all his mind: but a wise man keepeth it in till afterwards. (Ⅲ) - Totum spiritum suum profert stultus ;/ sapiens differt, et reservat in posterum./ (Ⅴ)

12 ׃29 משל מקשיב על דבר שקר כל משרתיו רשעים
- Quand celui qui domine a égard aux paroles mensongères, Tous ses serviteurs sont des méchants. (Ⅱ) - If a ruler hearken to lies, all his servants are wicked. (Ⅲ) - Princeps qui libenter audit verba mendacii,/ omnes ministros habet impios./ (Ⅴ)

13 ׃29 רש ואיש תככים נפגשו מאיר עיני שניהם יהוה
- Le pauvre et l'oppresseur se rencontrent; C'est l'Éternel qui éclaire les yeux de l'un et de l'autre. (Ⅱ) - The poor and the deceitful man meet together: the LORD lighteneth both their eyes. (Ⅲ) - Pauper et creditor obviaverunt sibi :/ utriusque illuminator est Dominus./ (Ⅴ)

14 ׃29 מלך שופט באמת דלים כסאו לעד יכון
- Un roi qui juge fidèlement les pauvres Aura son trône affermi pour toujours. (Ⅱ) - The king that faithfully judgeth the poor, his throne shall be established for ever. (Ⅲ) - Rex qui judicat in veritate pauperes,/ thronus ejus in æternum firmabitur.]\ (Ⅴ)

15 ׃29 שבט ותוכחת יתן חכמה ונער משלח מביש אמו
- La verge et la correction donnent la sagesse, Mais l'enfant livré à lui-même fait honte à sa mère. (Ⅱ) - The rod and reproof give wisdom: but a child left to himself bringeth his mother to shame. (Ⅲ) - Virga atque correptio tribuit sapientiam ;/ puer autem qui dimittitur voluntati suæ confundit matrem suam./ (Ⅴ)

16 ׃29 ברבות רשעים ירבה פשע וצדיקים במפלתם יראו
- Quand les méchants se multiplient, le péché s'accroît; Mais les justes contempleront leur chute. (Ⅱ) - When the wicked are multiplied, transgression increaseth: but the righteous shall see their fall. (Ⅲ) - In multiplicatione impiorum multiplicabuntur scelera,/ et justi ruinas eorum videbunt./ (Ⅴ)

17 ׃29 יסר בנך ויניחך ויתן מעדנים לנפשך פ
- Châtie ton fils, et il te donnera du repos, Et il procurera des délices à ton âme. (Ⅱ) - Correct thy son, and he shall give thee rest; yea, he shall give delight unto thy soul. (Ⅲ) - Erudi filium tuum, et refrigerabit te,/ et dabit delicias animæ tuæ./ (Ⅴ)

18 ׃29 באין חזון יפרע עם ושמר תורה אשרהו
- Quand il n'y a pas de révélation, le peuple est sans frein; Heureux s'il observe la loi! (Ⅱ) - Where there is no vision, the people perish: but he that keepeth the law, happy is he. (Ⅲ) - Cum prophetia defecerit, dissipabitur populus ;/ qui vero custodit legem beatus est./ (Ⅴ)

19 ׃29 בדברים לא יוסר עבד כי יבין ואין מענה
- Ce n'est pas par des paroles qu'on châtie un esclave; Même s'il comprend, il n'obéit pas. (Ⅱ) - A servant will not be corrected by words: for though he understand he will not answer. (Ⅲ) - Servus verbis non potest erudiri,/ quia quod dicis intelligit, et respondere contemnit./ (Ⅴ)

20 ׃29 חזית איש אץ בדבריו תקוה לכסיל ממנו
- Si tu vois un homme irréfléchi dans ses paroles, Il y a plus à espérer d'un insensé que de lui. (Ⅱ) - Seest thou a man that is hasty in his words? there is more hope of a fool than of him. (Ⅲ) - Vidisti hominem velocem ad loquendum ?/ stultitia magis speranda est quam illius correptio./ (Ⅴ)

21 ׃29 מפנק מנער עבדו ואחריתו יהיה מנון
- Le serviteur qu'on traite mollement dès l'enfance Finit par se croire un fils. (Ⅱ) - He that delicately bringeth up his servant from a child shall have him become his son at the length. (Ⅲ) - Qui delicate a pueritia nutrit servum suum/ postea sentiet eum contumacem.]\ (Ⅴ)

22 ׃29 איש אף יגרה מדון ובעל חמה רב פשע
- Un homme colère excite des querelles, Et un furieux commet beaucoup de péchés. (Ⅱ) - An angry man stirreth up strife, and a furious man aboundeth in transgression. (Ⅲ) - Vir iracundus provocat rixas,/ et qui ad indignandum facilis est erit ad peccandum proclivior./ (Ⅴ)

23 ׃29 גאות אדם תשפילנו ושפל רוח יתמך כבוד
- L'orgueil d'un homme l'abaisse, Mais celui qui est humble d'esprit obtient la gloire. (Ⅱ) - A man's pride shall bring him low: but honour shall uphold the humble in spirit. (Ⅲ) - Superbum sequitur humilitas,/ et humilem spiritu suscipiet gloria./ (Ⅴ)

24 ׃29 חולק עם גנב שונא נפשו אלה ישמע ולא יגיד
- Celui qui partage avec un voleur est ennemi de son âme; Il entend la malédiction, et il ne déclare rien. (Ⅱ) - Whoso is partner with a thief hateth his own soul: he heareth cursing, and bewrayeth it not. (Ⅲ) - Qui cum fure participat odit animam suam ;/ adjurantem audit, et non indicat./ (Ⅴ)

25 ׃29 חרדת אדם יתן מוקש ובוטח ביהוה ישגב
- La crainte des hommes tend un piège, Mais celui qui se confie en l'Éternel est protégé. (Ⅱ) - The fear of man bringeth a snare: but whoso putteth his trust in the LORD shall be safe. (Ⅲ) - Qui timet hominem cito corruet ;/ qui sperat in Domino sublevabitur./ (Ⅴ)

26 ׃29 רבים מבקשים פני מושל ומיהוה משפט איש
- Beaucoup de gens recherchent la faveur de celui qui domine, Mais c'est l'Éternel qui fait droit à chacun. (Ⅱ) - Many seek the ruler's favour; but every man's judgment cometh from the LORD. (Ⅲ) - Multi requirunt faciem principis,/ et judicium a Domino egreditur singulorum./ (Ⅴ)

27 ׃29 תועבת צדיקים איש עול ותועבת רשע ישר דרך פ
- L'homme inique est en abomination aux justes, Et celui dont la voie est droite est en abomination aux méchants. (Ⅱ) - An unjust man is an abomination to the just: and he that is upright in the way is abomination to the wicked. (Ⅲ) - Abominantur justi virum impium,/ et abominantur impii eos qui in recta sunt via./ Verbum custodiens filius/ extra perditionem erit.] (Ⅴ)
