24. 1

Erat autem Abraham senex, dierumque multorum : et Dominus in cunctis benedixerat ei.

- Abraham était vieux, avancé en âge; et l'Éternel avait béni Abraham en toute chose. (Ⅱ)

- And Abraham was old, and well stricken in age: and the LORD had blessed Abraham in all things. (Ⅲ)

- καὶ Αβρααμ ἠ̃ν πρεσβύτερος προβεβηκὼς ἡμερω̃ν καὶ κύριος εὐλόγησεν τὸν Αβρααμ κατὰ πάντα (Ⅳ)

- ‫ 1 ׃24 ואברהם זקן בא בימים ויהוה ברך את אברהם בכל ‬ (Ⅴ)

24. 2

Dixitque ad servum seniorem domus suæ, qui præerat omnibus quæ habebat : Pone manum tuam subter femur meum,

- Abraham dit à son serviteur, le plus ancien de sa maison, l'intendant de tous ses biens: Mets, je te prie, ta main sous ma cuisse; (Ⅱ)

- And Abraham said unto his eldest servant of his house, that ruled over all that he had, Put, I pray thee, thy hand under my thigh: (Ⅲ)

- καὶ εἰ̃πεν Αβρααμ τω̨̃ παιδὶ αὐτου̃ τω̨̃ πρεσβυτέρω̨ τη̃ς οἰκίας αὐτου̃ τω̨̃ ἄρχοντι πάντων τω̃ν αὐτου̃ θὲς τὴν χει̃ρά σου ὑπὸ τὸν μηρόν μου (Ⅳ)

- ‫ 2 ׃24 ויאמר אברהם אל עבדו זקן ביתו המשל בכל אשר לו שים נא ידך תחת ירכי ‬ (Ⅴ)

24. 3

ut adjurem te per Dominum Deum cæli et terræ, ut non accipias uxorem filio meo de filiabus Chananæorum, inter quos habito :

- et je te ferai jurer par l'Éternel, le Dieu du ciel et le Dieu de la terre, de ne pas prendre pour mon fils une femme parmi les filles des Cananéens au milieu desquels j'habite, (Ⅱ)

- And I will make thee swear by the LORD, the God of heaven, and the God of the earth, that thou shalt not take a wife unto my son of the daughters of the Canaanites, among whom I dwell: (Ⅲ)

- καὶ ἐξορκιω̃ σε κύριον τὸν θεὸν του̃ οὐρανου̃ καὶ τὸν θεὸν τη̃ς γη̃ς ἵνα μὴ λάβη̨ς γυναι̃κα τω̨̃ υἱω̨̃ μου Ισαακ ἀπὸ τω̃ν θυγατέρων τω̃ν Χαναναίων μεθ' ὡ̃ν ἐγὼ οἰκω̃ ἐν αὐτοι̃ς (Ⅳ)

- ‫ 3 ׃24 ואשביעך ביהוה אלהי השמים ואלהי הארץ אשר לא תקח אשה לבני מבנות הכנעני אשר אנכי יושב בקרבו ‬ (Ⅴ)

24. 4

sed ad terram et cognationem meam proficiscaris et inde accipias uxorem filio meo Isaac.

- mais d'aller dans mon pays et dans ma patrie prendre une femme pour mon fils Isaac. (Ⅱ)

- But thou shalt go unto my country, and to my kindred, and take a wife unto my son Isaac. (Ⅲ)

- ἀλλὰ εἰς τὴν γη̃ν μου οὑ̃ ἐγενόμην πορεύση̨ καὶ εἰς τὴν φυλήν μου καὶ λήμψη̨ γυναι̃κα τω̨̃ υἱω̨̃ μου Ισαακ ἐκει̃θεν (Ⅳ)

- ‫ 4 ׃24 כי אל ארצי ואל מולדתי תלך ולקחת אשה לבני ליצחק ‬ (Ⅴ)

24. 5

Respondit servus : Si noluerit mulier venire mecum in terram hanc, numquid reducere debeo filium tuum ad locum, de quo egressus es ?

- Le serviteur lui répondit: Peut-être la femme ne voudra-t-elle pas me suivre dans ce pays-ci; devrai-je mener ton fils dans le pays d'où tu es sorti? (Ⅱ)

- And the servant said unto him, Peradventure the woman will not be willing to follow me unto this land: must I needs bring thy son again unto the land from whence thou camest? (Ⅲ)

- εἰ̃πεν δὲ πρὸς αὐτὸν ὁ παι̃ς μήποτε οὐ βούλεται ἡ γυνὴ πορευθη̃ναι μετ' ἐμου̃ ὀπίσω εἰς τὴν γη̃ν ταύτην ἀποστρέψω τὸν υἱόν σου εἰς τὴν γη̃ν ὅθεν ἐξη̃λθες ἐκει̃θεν (Ⅳ)

- ‫ 5 ׃24 ויאמר אליו העבד אולי לא תאבה האשה ללכת אחרי אל הארץ הזאת ההשב אשיב את בנך אל הארץ אשר יצאת משם ‬ (Ⅴ)

24. 6

Dixitque Abraham : Cave nequando reducas filium meum illuc.

- Abraham lui dit: Garde-toi d'y mener mon fils! (Ⅱ)

- And Abraham said unto him, Beware thou that thou bring not my son thither again. (Ⅲ)

- εἰ̃πεν δὲ πρὸς αὐτὸν Αβρααμ πρόσεχε σεαυτω̨̃ μὴ ἀποστρέψη̨ς τὸν υἱόν μου ἐκει̃ (Ⅳ)

- ‫ 6 ׃24 ויאמר אליו אברהם השמר לך פן תשיב את בני שמה ‬ (Ⅴ)

24. 7

Dominus Deus cæli, qui tulit me de domo patris mei, et de terra nativitatis meæ, qui locutus est mihi, et juravit mihi, dicens : Semini tuo dabo terram hanc : ipse mittet angelum suum coram te, et accipies inde uxorem filio meo :

- L'Éternel, le Dieu du ciel, qui m'a fait sortir de la maison de mon père et de ma patrie, qui m'a parlé et qui m'a juré, en disant: Je donnerai ce pays à ta postérité, lui-même enverra son ange devant toi; et c'est de là que tu prendras une femme pour mon fils. (Ⅱ)

- The LORD God of heaven, which took me from my father's house, and from the land of my kindred, and which spake unto me, and that sware unto me, saying, Unto thy seed will I give this land; he shall send his angel before thee, and thou shalt take a wife unto my son from thence. (Ⅲ)

- κύριος ὁ θεὸς του̃ οὐρανου̃ καὶ ὁ θεὸς τη̃ς γη̃ς ὃς ἔλαβέν με ἐκ του̃ οἴκου του̃ πατρός μου καὶ ἐκ τη̃ς γη̃ς ἡ̃ς ἐγενήθην ὃς ἐλάλησέν μοι καὶ ὤμοσέν μοι λέγων σοὶ δώσω τὴν γη̃ν ταύτην καὶ τω̨̃ σπέρματί σου αὐτὸς ἀποστελει̃ τὸν ἄγγελον αὐτου̃ ἔμπροσθέν σου καὶ λήμψη̨ γυναι̃κα τω̨̃ υἱω̨̃ μου Ισαακ ἐκει̃θεν (Ⅳ)

- ‫ 7 ׃24 יהוה אלהי השמים אשר לקחני מבית אבי ומארץ מולדתי ואשר דבר לי ואשר נשבע לי לאמר לזרעך אתן את הארץ הזאת הוא ישלח מלאכו לפניך ולקחת אשה לבני משם ‬ (Ⅴ)

24. 8

sin autem mulier noluerit sequi te, non teneberis juramento : filium meum tantum ne reducas illuc.

- Si la femme ne veut pas te suivre, tu seras dégagé de ce serment que je te fais faire. Seulement, tu n'y mèneras pas mon fils. (Ⅱ)

- And if the woman will not be willing to follow thee, then thou shalt be clear from this my oath: only bring not my son thither again. (Ⅲ)

- ἐὰν δὲ μὴ θέλη̨ ἡ γυνὴ πορευθη̃ναι μετὰ σου̃ εἰς τὴν γη̃ν ταύτην καθαρὸς ἔση̨ ἀπὸ του̃ ὅρκου τούτου μόνον τὸν υἱόν μου μὴ ἀποστρέψη̨ς ἐκει̃ (Ⅳ)

- ‫ 8 ׃24 ואם לא תאבה האשה ללכת אחריך ונקית משבעתי זאת רק את בני לא תשב שמה ‬ (Ⅴ)

24. 9

Posuit ergo servus manum sub femore Abraham domini sui, et juravit illi super sermone hoc.

- Le serviteur mit sa main sous la cuisse d'Abraham, son seigneur, et lui jura d'observer ces choses. (Ⅱ)

- And the servant put his hand under the thigh of Abraham his master, and sware to him concerning that matter. (Ⅲ)

- καὶ ἔθηκεν ὁ παι̃ς τὴν χει̃ρα αὐτου̃ ὑπὸ τὸν μηρὸν Αβρααμ του̃ κυρίου αὐτου̃ καὶ ὤμοσεν αὐτω̨̃ περὶ του̃ ῥήματος τούτου (Ⅳ)

- ‫ 9 ׃24 וישם העבד את ידו תחת ירך אברהם אדניו וישבע לו על הדבר הזה ‬ (Ⅴ)

24. 10

Tulitque decem camelos de grege domini sui, et abiit, ex omnibus bonis ejus portans secum, profectusque perrexit in Mesopotamiam ad urbem Nachor.

- Le serviteur prit dix chameaux parmi les chameaux de son seigneur, et il partit, ayant à sa disposition tous les biens de son seigneur. Il se leva, et alla en Mésopotamie, à la ville de Nachor. (Ⅱ)

- And the servant took ten camels of the camels of his master, and departed; for all the goods of his master were in his hand: and he arose, and went to Mesopotamia, unto the city of Nahor. (Ⅲ)

- καὶ ἔλαβεν ὁ παι̃ς δέκα καμήλους ἀπὸ τω̃ν καμήλων του̃ κυρίου αὐτου̃ καὶ ἀπὸ πάντων τω̃ν ἀγαθω̃ν του̃ κυρίου αὐτου̃ μεθ' ἑαυτου̃ καὶ ἀναστὰς ἐπορεύθη εἰς τὴν Μεσοποταμίαν εἰς τὴν πόλιν Ναχωρ (Ⅳ)

- ‫ 10 ׃24 ויקח העבד עשרה גמלים מגמלי אדניו וילך וכל טוב אדניו בידו ויקם וילך אל ארם נהרים אל עיר נחור ‬ (Ⅴ)

24. 11

Cumque camelos fecisset accumbere extra oppidum juxta puteum aquæ vespere, tempore quo solent mulieres egredi ad hauriendam aquam, dixit :

- Il fit reposer les chameaux sur leurs genoux hors de la ville, près d'un puits, au temps du soir, au temps où sortent celles qui vont puiser de l'eau. (Ⅱ)

- And he made his camels to kneel down without the city by a well of water at the time of the evening, even the time that women go out to draw water. (Ⅲ)

- καὶ ἐκοίμισεν τὰς καμήλους ἔξω τη̃ς πόλεως παρὰ τὸ φρέαρ του̃ ὕδατος τὸ πρὸς ὀψέ ἡνίκα ἐκπορεύονται αἱ ὑδρευόμεναι (Ⅳ)

- ‫ 11 ׃24 ויברך הגמלים מחוץ לעיר אל באר המים לעת ערב לעת צאת השאבת ‬ (Ⅴ)

24. 12

Domine Deus domini mei Abraham, occurre, obsecro, mihi hodie, et fac misericordiam cum domino meo Abraham.

- Et il dit: Éternel, Dieu de mon seigneur Abraham, fais-moi, je te prie, rencontrer aujourd'hui ce que je désire, et use de bonté envers mon seigneur Abraham! (Ⅱ)

- And he said O LORD God of my master Abraham, I pray thee, send me good speed this day, and show kindness unto my master Abraham. (Ⅲ)

- καὶ εἰ̃πεν κύριε ὁ θεὸς του̃ κυρίου μου Αβρααμ εὐόδωσον ἐναντίον ἐμου̃ σήμερον καὶ ποίησον ἔλεος μετὰ του̃ κυρίου μου Αβρααμ (Ⅳ)

- ‫ 12 ׃24 ויאמר יהוה אלהי אדני אברהם הקרה נא לפני היום ועשה חסד עם אדני אברהם ‬ (Ⅴ)

24. 13

Ecce ego sto prope fontem aquæ, et filiæ habitatorum hujus civitatis egredientur ad hauriendam aquam.

- Voici, je me tiens près de la source d'eau, et les filles des gens de la ville vont sortir pour puiser l'eau. (Ⅱ)

- Behold, I stand here by the well of water; and the daughters of the men of the city come out to draw water: (Ⅲ)

- ἰδοὺ ἐγὼ ἕστηκα ἐπὶ τη̃ς πηγη̃ς του̃ ὕδατος αἱ δὲ θυγατέρες τω̃ν οἰκούντων τὴν πόλιν ἐκπορεύονται ἀντλη̃σαι ὕδωρ (Ⅳ)

- ‫ 13 ׃24 הנה אנכי נצב על עין המים ובנות אנשי העיר יצאת לשאב מים ‬ (Ⅴ)

24. 14

Igitur puella, cui ego dixero : Inclina hydriam tuam ut bibam : et illa responderit : Bibe, quin et camelis tuis dabo potum : ipsa est quam præparasti servo tuo Isaac : et per hoc intelligam quod feceris misericordiam cum domino meo.

- Que la jeune fille à laquelle je dirai: Penche ta cruche, je te prie, pour que je boive, et qui répondra: Bois, et je donnerai aussi à boire à tes chameaux, soit celle que tu as destinée à ton serviteur Isaac! Et par là je connaîtrai que tu uses de bonté envers mon seigneur. (Ⅱ)

- And let it come to pass, that the damsel to whom I shall say, Let down thy pitcher, I pray thee, that I may drink; and she shall say, Drink, and I will give thy camels drink also: let the same be she that thou hast appointed for thy servant Isaac; and thereby shall I know that thou hast showed kindness unto my master. (Ⅲ)

- καὶ ἔσται ἡ παρθένος ἡ̨̃ ἂν ἐγὼ εἴπω ἐπίκλινον τὴν ὑδρίαν σου ἵνα πίω καὶ εἴπη̨ μοι πίε καὶ τὰς καμήλους σου ποτιω̃ ἕως ἂν παύσωνται πίνουσαι ταύτην ἡτοίμασας τω̨̃ παιδί σου Ισαακ καὶ ἐν τούτω̨ γνώσομαι ὅτι ἐποίησας ἔλεος τω̨̃ κυρίω̨ μου Αβρααμ (Ⅳ)

- ‫ 14 ׃24 והיה הנער אשר אמר אליה הטי נא כדך ואשתה ואמרה שתה וגם גמליך אשקה אתה הכחת לעבדך ליצחק ובה אדע כי עשית חסד עם אדני ‬ (Ⅴ)

24. 15

Necdum intra se verba compleverat, et ecce Rebecca egrediebatur, filia Bathuel, filii Melchæ uxoris Nachor fratris Abraham, habens hydriam in scapula sua :

- Il n'avait pas encore fini de parler que sortit, sa cruche sur l'épaule, Rebecca, née de Bethuel, fils de Milca, femme de Nachor, frère d'Abraham. (Ⅱ)

- And it came to pass, before he had done speaking, that, behold, Rebekah came out, who was born to Bethuel, son of Milcah, the wife of Nahor, Abraham's brother, with her pitcher upon her shoulder. (Ⅲ)

- καὶ ἐγένετο πρὸ του̃ συντελέσαι αὐτὸν λαλου̃ντα ἐν τη̨̃ διανοία̨ καὶ ἰδοὺ Ρεβεκκα ἐξεπορεύετο ἡ τεχθει̃σα Βαθουηλ υἱω̨̃ Μελχας τη̃ς γυναικὸς Ναχωρ ἀδελφου̃ δὲ Αβρααμ ἔχουσα τὴν ὑδρίαν ἐπὶ τω̃ν ὤμων αὐτη̃ς (Ⅳ)

- ‫ 15 ׃24 ויהי הוא טרם כלה לדבר והנה רבקה יצאת אשר ילדה לבתואל בן מלכה אשת נחור אחי אברהם וכדה על שכמה ‬ (Ⅴ)

24. 16

puella decora nimis, virgoque pulcherrima, et incognita viro : descenderat autem ad fontem, et impleverat hydriam, ac revertebatur.

- C'était une jeune fille très belle de figure; elle était vierge, et aucun homme ne l'avait connue. Elle descendit à la source, remplit sa cruche, et remonta. (Ⅱ)

- And the damsel was very fair to look upon, a virgin, neither had any man known her: and she went down to the well, and filled her pitcher, and came up. (Ⅲ)

- ἡ δὲ παρθένος ἠ̃ν καλὴ τη̨̃ ὄψει σφόδρα παρθένος ἠ̃ν ἀνὴρ οὐκ ἔγνω αὐτήν καταβα̃σα δὲ ἐπὶ τὴν πηγὴν ἔπλησεν τὴν ὑδρίαν καὶ ἀνέβη (Ⅳ)

- ‫ 16 ׃24 והנער טבת מראה מאד בתולה ואיש לא ידעה ותרד העינה ותמלא כדה ותעל ‬ (Ⅴ)

24. 17

Occurritque ei servus, et ait : Pauxillum aquæ mihi ad bibendum præbe de hydria tua.

- Le serviteur courut au-devant d'elle, et dit: Laisse-moi boire, je te prie, un peu d'eau de ta cruche. (Ⅱ)

- And the servant ran to meet her, and said, Let me, I pray thee, drink a little water of thy pitcher. (Ⅲ)

- ἐπέδραμεν δὲ ὁ παι̃ς εἰς συνάντησιν αὐτη̃ς καὶ εἰ̃πεν πότισόν με μικρὸν ὕδωρ ἐκ τη̃ς ὑδρίας σου (Ⅳ)

- ‫ 17 ׃24 וירץ העבד לקראתה ויאמר הגמיאיני נא מעט מים מכדך ‬ (Ⅴ)

24. 18

Quæ respondit : Bibe, domine mi : celeriterque deposuit hydriam super ulnam suam, et dedit ei potum.

- Elle répondit: Bois, mon seigneur. Et elle s'empressa d'abaisser sa cruche sur sa main, et de lui donner à boire. (Ⅱ)

- And she said, Drink, my lord: and she hasted, and let down her pitcher upon her hand, and gave him drink. (Ⅲ)

- ἡ δὲ εἰ̃πεν πίε κύριε καὶ ἔσπευσεν καὶ καθει̃λεν τὴν ὑδρίαν ἐπὶ τὸν βραχίονα αὐτη̃ς καὶ ἐπότισεν αὐτόν (Ⅳ)

- ‫ 18 ׃24 ותאמר שתה אדני ותמהר ותרד כדה על ידה ותשקהו ‬ (Ⅴ)

24. 19

Cumque ille bibisset, adjecit : Quin et camelis tuis hauriam aquam, donec cuncti bibant.

- Quand elle eut achevé de lui donner à boire, elle dit: Je puiserai aussi pour tes chameaux, jusqu'à ce qu'ils aient assez bu. (Ⅱ)

- And when she had done giving him drink, she said, I will draw water for thy camels also, until they have done drinking. (Ⅲ)

- ἕως ἐπαύσατο πίνων καὶ εἰ̃πεν καὶ ται̃ς καμήλοις σου ὑδρεύσομαι ἕως ἂν πα̃σαι πίωσιν (Ⅳ)

- ‫ 19 ׃24 ותכל להשקתו ותאמר גם לגמליך אשאב עד אם כלו לשתת ‬ (Ⅴ)

24. 20

Effundensque hydriam in canalibus, recurrit ad puteum ut hauriret aquam : et haustam omnibus camelis dedit.

- Et elle s'empressa de vider sa cruche dans l'abreuvoir, et courut encore au puits pour puiser; et elle puisa pour tous les chameaux. (Ⅱ)

- And she hasted, and emptied her pitcher into the trough, and ran again unto the well to draw water, and drew for all his camels. (Ⅲ)

- καὶ ἔσπευσεν καὶ ἐξεκένωσεν τὴν ὑδρίαν εἰς τὸ ποτιστήριον καὶ ἔδραμεν ἔτι ἐπὶ τὸ φρέαρ ἀντλη̃σαι καὶ ὑδρεύσατο πάσαις ται̃ς καμήλοις (Ⅳ)

- ‫ 20 ׃24 ותמהר ותער כדה אל השקת ותרץ עוד אל הבאר לשאב ותשאב לכל גמליו ‬ (Ⅴ)

24. 21

Ipse autem contemplabatur eam tacitus, scire volens utrum prosperum iter suum fecisset Dominus, an non.

- L'homme la regardait avec étonnement et sans rien dire, pour voir si l'Éternel faisait réussir son voyage, ou non. (Ⅱ)

- And the man wondering at her held his peace, to wit whether the LORD had made his journey prosperous or not. (Ⅲ)

- ὁ δὲ ἄνθρωπος κατεμάνθανεν αὐτὴν καὶ παρεσιώπα του̃ γνω̃ναι εἰ εὐόδωκεν κύριος τὴν ὁδὸν αὐτου̃ ἢ οὔ (Ⅳ)

- ‫ 21 ׃24 והאיש משתאה לה מחריש לדעת ההצליח יהוה דרכו אם לא ‬ (Ⅴ)

24. 22

Postquam autem biberunt cameli, protulit vir inaures aureas, appendentes siclos duos, et armillas totidem pondo siclorum decem.

- Quand les chameaux eurent fini de boire, l'homme prit un anneau d'or, du poids d'un demi-sicle, et deux bracelets, du poids de dix sicles d'or. (Ⅱ)

- And it came to pass, as the camels had done drinking, that the man took a golden earring of half a shekel weight, and two bracelets for her hands of ten shekels weight of gold; (Ⅲ)

- ἐγένετο δὲ ἡνίκα ἐπαύσαντο πα̃σαι αἱ κάμηλοι πίνουσαι ἔλαβεν ὁ ἄνθρωπος ἐνώτια χρυσα̃ ἀνὰ δραχμὴν ὁλκη̃ς καὶ δύο ψέλια ἐπὶ τὰς χει̃ρας αὐτη̃ς δέκα χρυσω̃ν ὁλκὴ αὐτω̃ν (Ⅳ)

- ‫ 22 ׃24 ויהי כאשר כלו הגמלים לשתות ויקח האיש נזם זהב בקע משקלו ושני צמידים על ידיה עשרה זהב משקלם ‬ (Ⅴ)

24. 23

Dixitque ad eam : Cujus es filia ? indica mihi, est in domo patris tui locus ad manendum ?

- Et il dit: De qui es-tu fille? dis-le moi, je te prie. Y a-t-il dans la maison de ton père de la place pour passer la nuit? (Ⅱ)

- And said, Whose daughter art thou? tell me, I pray thee: is there room in thy father's house for us to lodge in? (Ⅲ)

- καὶ ἐπηρώτησεν αὐτὴν καὶ εἰ̃πεν θυγάτηρ τίνος εἰ̃ ἀνάγγειλόν μοι εἰ ἔστιν παρὰ τω̨̃ πατρί σου τόπος ἡμι̃ν καταλυ̃σαι (Ⅳ)

- ‫ 23 ׃24 ויאמר בת מי את הגידי נא לי היש בית אביך מקום לנו ללין ‬ (Ⅴ)

24. 24

Quæ respondit : Filia sum Bathuelis, filii Melchæ, quem peperit ipsi Nachor.

- Elle répondit: Je suis fille de Bethuel, fils de Milca et de Nachor. (Ⅱ)

- And she said unto him, I am the daughter of Bethuel the son of Milcah, which she bare unto Nahor. (Ⅲ)

- καὶ εἰ̃πεν αὐτω̨̃ θυγάτηρ Βαθουηλ εἰμὶ ἐγὼ του̃ Μελχας ὃν ἔτεκεν τω̨̃ Ναχωρ (Ⅳ)

- ‫ 24 ׃24 ותאמר אליו בת בתואל אנכי בן מלכה אשר ילדה לנחור ‬ (Ⅴ)

24. 25

Et addidit, dicens : Palearum quoque et fœni plurimum est apud nos, et locus spatiosus ad manendum.

- Elle lui dit encore: Il y a chez nous de la paille et du fourrage en abondance, et aussi de la place pour passer la nuit. (Ⅱ)

- She said moreover unto him, We have both straw and provender enough, and room to lodge in. (Ⅲ)

Inclinavit se homo, et adoravit Dominum,

- Alors l'homme s'inclina et se prosterna devant l'Éternel, (Ⅱ)

- And the man bowed down his head, and worshipped the LORD. (Ⅲ)

- καὶ εὐδοκήσας ὁ ἄνθρωπος προσεκύνησεν κυρίω̨ (Ⅳ)

- ‫ 26 ׃24 ויקד האיש וישתחו ליהוה ‬ (Ⅴ)

24. 27

dicens : Benedictus Dominus Deus domini mei Abraham, qui non abstulit misericordiam et veritatem suam a domino meo, et recto itinere me perduxit in domum fratris domini mei.\

- en disant: Béni soit l'Éternel, le Dieu de mon seigneur Abraham, qui n'a pas renoncé à sa miséricorde et à sa fidélité envers mon seigneur! Moi-même, l'Éternel m'a conduit à la maison des frères de mon seigneur. (Ⅱ)

- And he said, Blessed be the LORD God of my master Abraham, who hath not left destitute my master of his mercy and his truth: I being in the way, the LORD led me to the house of my master's brethren. (Ⅲ)

- καὶ εἰ̃πεν εὐλογητὸς κύριος ὁ θεὸς του̃ κυρίου μου Αβρααμ ὃς οὐκ ἐγκατέλιπεν τὴν δικαιοσύνην αὐτου̃ καὶ τὴν ἀλήθειαν ἀπὸ του̃ κυρίου μου ἐμὲ εὐόδωκεν κύριος εἰς οἰ̃κον του̃ ἀδελφου̃ του̃ κυρίου μου (Ⅳ)

- ‫ 27 ׃24 ויאמר ברוך יהוה אלהי אדני אברהם אשר לא עזב חסדו ואמתו מעם אדני אנכי בדרך נחני יהוה בית אחי אדני ‬ (Ⅴ)

24. 28

Cucurrit itaque puella, et nuntiavit in domum matris suæ omnia quæ audierat.

- La jeune fille courut raconter ces choses à la maison de sa mère. (Ⅱ)

- And the damsel ran, and told them of her mother's house these things. (Ⅲ)

- καὶ δραμου̃σα ἡ παι̃ς ἀπήγγειλεν εἰς τὸν οἰ̃κον τη̃ς μητρὸς αὐτη̃ς κατὰ τὰ ῥήματα ταυ̃τα (Ⅳ)

- ‫ 28 ׃24 ותרץ הנער ותגד לבית אמה כדברים האלה ‬ (Ⅴ)

24. 29

Habebat autem Rebecca fratrem nomine Laban, qui festinus egressus est ad hominem, ubi erat fons.

- Rebecca avait un frère, nommé Laban. Et Laban courut dehors vers l'homme, près de la source. (Ⅱ)

- And Rebekah had a brother, and his name was Laban: and Laban ran out unto the man, unto the well. (Ⅲ)

- τη̨̃ δὲ Ρεβεκκα ἀδελφὸς ἠ̃ν ὡ̨̃ ὄνομα Λαβαν καὶ ἔδραμεν Λαβαν πρὸς τὸν ἄνθρωπον ἔξω ἐπὶ τὴν πηγήν (Ⅳ)

- ‫ 29 ׃24 ולרבקה אח ושמו לבן וירץ לבן אל האיש החוצה אל העין ‬ (Ⅴ)

24. 30

Cumque vidisset inaures et armillas in manibus sororis suæ, et audisset cuncta verba referentis : Hæc locutus est mihi homo : venit ad virum qui stabat juxta camelos, et prope fontem aquæ :

- Il avait vu l'anneau et les bracelets aux mains de sa soeur, et il avait entendu les paroles de Rebecca, sa soeur, disant: Ainsi m'a parlé l'homme. Il vint donc à cet homme qui se tenait auprès des chameaux, vers la source, (Ⅱ)

- And it came to pass, when he saw the earring and bracelets upon his sister's hands, and when he heard the words of Rebekah his sister, saying, Thus spake the man unto me; that he came unto the man; and, behold, he stood by the camels at the well. (Ⅲ)

- καὶ ἐγένετο ἡνίκα εἰ̃δεν τὰ ἐνώτια καὶ τὰ ψέλια ἐπὶ τὰς χει̃ρας τη̃ς ἀδελφη̃ς αὐτου̃ καὶ ὅτε ἤκουσεν τὰ ῥήματα Ρεβεκκας τη̃ς ἀδελφη̃ς αὐτου̃ λεγούσης οὕτως λελάληκέν μοι ὁ ἄνθρωπος καὶ ἠ̃λθεν πρὸς τὸν ἄνθρωπον ἑστηκότος αὐτου̃ ἐπὶ τω̃ν καμήλων ἐπὶ τη̃ς πηγη̃ς (Ⅳ)

- ‫ 30 ׃24 ויהי כראת את הנזם ואת הצמדים על ידי אחתו וכשמעו את דברי רבקה אחתו לאמר כה דבר אלי האיש ויבא אל האיש והנה עמד על הגמלים על העין ‬ (Ⅴ)

24. 31

dixitque ad eum : Ingredere, benedicte Domini : cur foris stas ? præparavi domum, et locum camelis.

- et il dit: Viens, béni de l'Éternel! Pourquoi resterais-tu dehors? J'ai préparé la maison, et une place pour les chameaux. (Ⅱ)

- And he said, Come in, thou blessed of the LORD; wherefore standest thou without? for I have prepared the house, and room for the camels. (Ⅲ)

- καὶ εἰ̃πεν αὐτω̨̃ δευ̃ρο εἴσελθε εὐλογητὸς κύριος ἵνα τί ἕστηκας ἔξω ἐγὼ δὲ ἡτοίμακα τὴν οἰκίαν καὶ τόπον ται̃ς καμήλοις (Ⅳ)

- ‫ 31 ׃24 ויאמר בוא ברוך יהוה למה תעמד בחוץ ואנכי פניתי הבית ומקום לגמלים ‬ (Ⅴ)

24. 32

Et introduxit eum in hospitium : ac destravit camelos, deditque paleas et fœnum, et aquam ad lavandos pedes ejus, et virorum qui venerant cum eo.

- L'homme arriva à la maison. Laban fit décharger les chameaux, et il donna de la paille et du fourrage aux chameaux, et de l'eau pour laver les pieds de l'homme et les pieds des gens qui étaient avec lui. (Ⅱ)

- And the man came into the house: and he ungirded his camels, and gave straw and provender for the camels, and water to wash his feet, and the men's feet that were with him. (Ⅲ)

- εἰση̃λθεν δὲ ὁ ἄνθρωπος εἰς τὴν οἰκίαν καὶ ἀπέσαξεν τὰς καμήλους καὶ ἔδωκεν ἄχυρα καὶ χορτάσματα ται̃ς καμήλοις καὶ ὕδωρ νίψασθαι τοι̃ς ποσὶν αὐτου̃ καὶ τοι̃ς ποσὶν τω̃ν ἀνδρω̃ν τω̃ν μετ' αὐτου̃ (Ⅳ)

- ‫ 32 ׃24 ויבא האיש הביתה ויפתח הגמלים ויתן תבן ומספוא לגמלים ומים לרחץ רגליו ורגלי האנשים אשר אתו ‬ (Ⅴ)

24. 33

Et appositus est in conspectu ejus panis. Qui ait : Non comedam, donec loquar sermones meos. Respondit ei : Loquere.

- Puis, il lui servit à manger. Mais il dit: Je ne mangerai point, avant d'avoir dit ce que j'ai à dire. Parle! dit Laban. (Ⅱ)

- And there was set meat before him to eat: but he said, I will not eat, until I have told mine errand. And he said, Speak on. (Ⅲ)

- καὶ παρέθηκεν αὐτοι̃ς ἄρτους φαγει̃ν καὶ εἰ̃πεν οὐ μὴ φάγω ἕως του̃ λαλη̃σαί με τὰ ῥήματά μου καὶ εἰ̃παν λάλησον (Ⅳ)

- ‫ 33 ׃24 *ויישם **ויושם לפניו לאכל ויאמר לא אכל עד אם דברתי דברי ויאמר דבר ‬ (Ⅴ)

24. 34

At ille : Servus, inquit, Abraham sum :

- Alors il dit: Je suis serviteur d'Abraham. (Ⅱ)

- And he said, I am Abraham's servant. (Ⅲ)

- καὶ εἰ̃πεν παι̃ς Αβρααμ ἐγώ εἰμι (Ⅳ)

- ‫ 34 ׃24 ויאמר עבד אברהם אנכי ‬ (Ⅴ)

24. 35

et Dominus benedixit domino meo valde, magnificatusque est : et dedit ei oves et boves, argentum et aurum, servos et ancillas, camelos et asinos.

- L'Éternel a comblé de bénédictions mon seigneur, qui est devenu puissant. Il lui a donné des brebis et des boeufs, de l'argent et de l'or, des serviteurs et des servantes, des chameaux et des ânes. (Ⅱ)

- And the LORD hath blessed my master greatly; and he is become great: and he hath given him flocks, and herds, and silver, and gold, and menservants, and maidservants, and camels, and asses. (Ⅲ)

- κύριος δὲ εὐλόγησεν τὸν κύριόν μου σφόδρα καὶ ὑψώθη καὶ ἔδωκεν αὐτω̨̃ πρόβατα καὶ μόσχους ἀργύριον καὶ χρυσίον παι̃δας καὶ παιδίσκας καμήλους καὶ ὄνους (Ⅳ)

- ‫ 35 ׃24 ויהוה ברך את אדני מאד ויגדל ויתן לו צאן ובקר וכסף וזהב ועבדם ושפחת וגמלים וחמרים ‬ (Ⅴ)

24. 36

Et peperit Sara uxor domini mei filium domino meo in senectute sua, deditque illi omnia quæ habuerat.

- Sara, la femme de mon seigneur, a enfanté dans sa vieillesse un fils à mon seigneur; et il lui a donné tout ce qu'il possède. (Ⅱ)

- And Sarah my master's wife bare a son to my master when she was old: and unto him hath he given all that he hath. (Ⅲ)

- καὶ ἔτεκεν Σαρρα ἡ γυνὴ του̃ κυρίου μου υἱὸν ἕνα τω̨̃ κυρίω̨ μου μετὰ τὸ γηρα̃σαι αὐτόν καὶ ἔδωκεν αὐτω̨̃ ὅσα ἠ̃ν αὐτω̨̃ (Ⅳ)

- ‫ 36 ׃24 ותלד שרה אשת אדני בן לאדני אחרי זקנתה ויתן לו‪[1]‬ את כל אשר לו ‬ (Ⅴ)

24. 37

Et adjuravit me dominus meus, dicens : Non accipies uxorem filio meo de filiabus Chananæorum, in quorum terra habito :

- Mon seigneur m'a fait jurer, en disant: Tu ne prendras pas pour mon fils une femme parmi les filles des Cananéens, dans le pays desquels j'habite; (Ⅱ)

- And my master made me swear, saying, Thou shalt not take a wife to my son of the daughters of the Canaanites, in whose land I dwell: (Ⅲ)

- καὶ ὥρκισέν με ὁ κύριός μου λέγων οὐ λήμψη̨ γυναι̃κα τω̨̃ υἱω̨̃ μου ἀπὸ τω̃ν θυγατέρων τω̃ν Χαναναίων ἐν οἱ̃ς ἐγὼ παροικω̃ ἐν τη̨̃ γη̨̃ αὐτω̃ν (Ⅳ)

- ‫ 37 ׃24 וישבעני אדני לאמר לא תקח אשה לבני מבנות הכנעני אשר אנכי ישב בארצו ‬ (Ⅴ)

24. 38

sed ad domum patris mei perges, et de cognatione mea accipies uxorem filio meo.

- mais tu iras dans la maison de mon père et de ma famille prendre une femme pour mon fils. (Ⅱ)

- But thou shalt go unto my father's house, and to my kindred, and take a wife unto my son. (Ⅲ)

- ἀλλ' ἢ εἰς τὸν οἰ̃κον του̃ πατρός μου πορεύση̨ καὶ εἰς τὴν φυλήν μου καὶ λήμψη̨ γυναι̃κα τω̨̃ υἱω̨̃ μου ἐκει̃θεν (Ⅳ)

- ‫ 38 ׃24 אם לא אל בית אבי תלך ואל משפחתי ולקחת אשה לבני ‬ (Ⅴ)

24. 39

Ego vero respondi domino meo : Quid si noluerit venire mecum mulier ?

- J'ai dit à mon seigneur: Peut-être la femme ne voudra-t-elle pas me suivre. (Ⅱ)

- And I said unto my master, Peradventure the woman will not follow me. (Ⅲ)

- εἰ̃πα δὲ τω̨̃ κυρίω̨ μου μήποτε οὐ πορεύσεται ἡ γυνὴ μετ' ἐμου̃ (Ⅳ)

- ‫ 39 ׃24 ואמר אל אדני אלי לא תלך האשה אחרי ‬ (Ⅴ)

24. 40

Dominus, ait, in cujus conspectu ambulo, mittet angelum suum tecum, et diriget viam tuam : accipiesque uxorem filio meo de cognatione mea, et de domo patris mei.

- Et il m'a répondu: L'Éternel, devant qui j'ai marché, enverra son ange avec toi, et fera réussir ton voyage; et tu prendras pour mon fils une femme de la famille et de la maison de mon père. (Ⅱ)

- And he said unto me, The LORD, before whom I walk, will send his angel with thee, and prosper thy way; and thou shalt take a wife for my son of my kindred, and of my father's house: (Ⅲ)

- καὶ εἰ̃πέν μοι κύριος ὡ̨̃ εὐηρέστησα ἐναντίον αὐτου̃ αὐτὸς ἀποστελει̃ τὸν ἄγγελον αὐτου̃ μετὰ σου̃ καὶ εὐοδώσει τὴν ὁδόν σου καὶ λήμψη̨ γυναι̃κα τω̨̃ υἱω̨̃ μου ἐκ τη̃ς φυλη̃ς μου καὶ ἐκ του̃ οἴκου του̃ πατρός μου (Ⅳ)

- ‫ 40 ׃24 ויאמר אלי יהוה אשר התהלכתי לפניו ישלח מלאכו אתך והצליח דרכך ולקחת אשה לבני ממשפחתי ומבית אבי ‬ (Ⅴ)

24. 41

Innocens eris a maledictione mea, cum veneris ad propinquos meos, et non dederint tibi.

- Tu seras dégagé du serment que tu me fais, quand tu auras été vers ma famille; si on ne te l'accorde pas, tu seras dégagé du serment que tu me fais. (Ⅱ)

- Then shalt thou be clear from this my oath, when thou comest to my kindred; and if they give not thee one, thou shalt be clear from my oath. (Ⅲ)

- τότε ἀθω̨̃ος ἔση̨ ἀπὸ τη̃ς ἀρα̃ς μου ἡνίκα γὰρ ἐὰν ἔλθη̨ς εἰς τὴν ἐμὴν φυλὴν καὶ μή σοι δω̃σιν καὶ ἔση̨ ἀθω̨̃ος ἀπὸ του̃ ὁρκισμου̃ μου (Ⅳ)

- ‫ 41 ׃24 אז תנקה מאלתי כי תבוא אל משפחתי ואם לא יתנו לך והיית נקי מאלתי ‬ (Ⅴ)

24. 42

Veni ergo hodie ad fontem aquæ, et dixi : Domine Deus domini mei Abraham, si direxisti viam meam, in qua nunc ambulo,

- Je suis arrivé aujourd'hui à la source, et j'ai dit: Éternel, Dieu de mon seigneur Abraham, si tu daignes faire réussir le voyage que j'accomplis, (Ⅱ)

- And I came this day unto the well, and said, O LORD God of my master Abraham, if now thou do prosper my way which I go: (Ⅲ)

- καὶ ἐλθὼν σήμερον ἐπὶ τὴν πηγὴν εἰ̃πα κύριε ὁ θεὸς του̃ κυρίου μου Αβρααμ εἰ σὺ εὐοδοι̃ς τὴν ὁδόν μου ἣν νυ̃ν ἐγὼ πορεύομαι ἐπ' αὐτήν (Ⅳ)

- ‫ 42 ׃24 ואבא היום אל העין ואמר יהוה אלהי אדני אברהם אם ישך נא מצליח דרכי אשר אנכי הלך עליה ‬ (Ⅴ)

24. 43

ecce sto juxta fontem aquæ, et virgo, quæ egredietur ad hauriendam aquam, audierit a me : Da mihi pauxillum aquæ ad bibendum ex hydria tua :

- voici, je me tiens près de la source d'eau, et que la jeune fille qui sortira pour puiser, à qui je dirai: Laisse-moi boire, je te prie, un peu d'eau de ta cruche, et qui me répondra: (Ⅱ)

- Behold, I stand by the well of water; and it shall come to pass, that when the virgin cometh forth to draw water, and I say to her, Give me, I pray thee, a little water of thy pitcher to drink; (Ⅲ)

- ἰδοὺ ἐγὼ ἐφέστηκα ἐπὶ τη̃ς πηγη̃ς του̃ ὕδατος καὶ αἱ θυγατέρες τω̃ν ἀνθρώπων τη̃ς πόλεως ἐξελεύσονται ὑδρεύσασθαι ὕδωρ καὶ ἔσται ἡ παρθένος ἡ̨̃ ἂν ἐγὼ εἴπω πότισόν με μικρὸν ὕδωρ ἐκ τη̃ς ὑδρίας σου (Ⅳ)

- ‫ 43 ׃24 הנה אנכי נצב על עין המים והיה העלמה היצאת לשאב ואמרתי אליה השקיני נא מעט מים מכדך ‬ (Ⅴ)

24. 44

et dixerit mihi : Et tu bibe, et camelis tuis hauriam : ipsa est mulier, quam præparavit Dominus filio domini mei.

- Bois toi-même, et je puiserai aussi pour tes chameaux, que cette jeune fille soit la femme que l'Éternel a destinée au fils de mon seigneur! (Ⅱ)

- And she say to me, Both drink thou, and I will also draw for thy camels: let the same be the woman whom the LORD hath appointed out for my master's son. (Ⅲ)

- καὶ εἴπη̨ μοι καὶ σὺ πίε καὶ ται̃ς καμήλοις σου ὑδρεύσομαι αὕτη ἡ γυνή ἣν ἡτοίμασεν κύριος τω̨̃ ἑαυτου̃ θεράποντι Ισαακ καὶ ἐν τούτω̨ γνώσομαι ὅτι πεποίηκας ἔλεος τω̨̃ κυρίω̨ μου Αβρααμ (Ⅳ)

- ‫ 44 ׃24 ואמרה אלי גם אתה שתה וגם לגמליך אשאב הוא האשה אשר הכיח יהוה לבן אדני ‬ (Ⅴ)

24. 45

Dumque hæc tacitus mecum volverem, apparuit Rebecca veniens cum hydria, quam portabat in scapula : descenditque ad fontem, et hausit aquam. Et aio ad eam : Da mihi paululum bibere.

- Avant que j'eusse fini de parler en mon coeur, voici, Rebecca est sortie, sa cruche sur l'épaule; elle est descendue à la source, et a puisé. Je lui ai dit: Donne-moi à boire, je te prie. (Ⅱ)

- And before I had done speaking in mine heart, behold, Rebekah came forth with her pitcher on her shoulder; and she went down unto the well, and drew water: and I said unto her, Let me drink, I pray thee. (Ⅲ)

- καὶ ἐγένετο πρὸ του̃ συντελέσαι με λαλου̃ντα ἐν τη̨̃ διανοία̨ εὐθὺς Ρεβεκκα ἐξεπορεύετο ἔχουσα τὴν ὑδρίαν ἐπὶ τω̃ν ὤμων καὶ κατέβη ἐπὶ τὴν πηγὴν καὶ ὑδρεύσατο εἰ̃πα δὲ αὐτη̨̃ πότισόν με (Ⅳ)

- ‫ 45 ׃24 אני טרם אכלה לדבר אל לבי והנה רבקה יצאת וכדה על שכמה ותרד העינה ותשאב ואמר אליה השקיני נא ‬ (Ⅴ)

24. 46

Quæ festinans deposuit hydriam de humero, et dixit mihi : Et tu bibe, et camelis tuis tribuam potum. Bibi, et adaquavit camelos.

- Elle s'est empressée d'abaisser sa cruche de dessus son épaule, et elle a dit: Bois, et je donnerai aussi à boire à tes chameaux. J'ai bu, et elle a aussi donné à boire à mes chameaux. (Ⅱ)

- And she made haste, and let down her pitcher from her shoulder, and said, Drink, and I will give thy camels drink also: so I drank, and she made the camels drink also. (Ⅲ)

- καὶ σπεύσασα καθει̃λεν τὴν ὑδρίαν αὐτη̃ς ἀφ' ἑαυτη̃ς καὶ εἰ̃πεν πίε σύ καὶ τὰς καμήλους σου ποτιω̃ καὶ ἔπιον καὶ τὰς καμήλους μου ἐπότισεν (Ⅳ)

- ‫ 46 ׃24 ותמהר ותורד כדה מעליה ותאמר שתה וגם גמליך אשקה ואשת וגם הגמלים השקתה ‬ (Ⅴ)

24. 47

Interrogavique eam, et dixi : Cujus es filia ? Quæ respondit : Filia Bathuelis sum, filii Nachor, quem peperit ei Melcha. Suspendi itaque inaures ad ornandam faciem ejus, et armillas posui in manibus ejus.

- Je l'ai interrogée, et j'ai dit: De qui es-tu fille? Elle a répondu: Je suis fille de Bethuel, fils de Nachor et de Milca. J'ai mis l'anneau à son nez, et les bracelets à ses mains. (Ⅱ)

- And I asked her, and said, Whose daughter art thou? And she said, the daughter of Bethuel, Nahor's son, whom Milcah bare unto him: and I put the earring upon her face, and the bracelets upon her hands. (Ⅲ)

- καὶ ἠρώτησα αὐτὴν καὶ εἰ̃πα τίνος εἰ̃ θυγάτηρ ἡ δὲ ἔφη θυγάτηρ Βαθουηλ εἰμὶ του̃ υἱου̃ Ναχωρ ὃν ἔτεκεν αὐτω̨̃ Μελχα καὶ περιέθηκα αὐτη̨̃ τὰ ἐνώτια καὶ τὰ ψέλια περὶ τὰς χει̃ρας αὐτη̃ς (Ⅳ)

- ‫ 47 ׃24 ואשאל אתה ואמר בת מי את ותאמר בת בתואל בן נחור אשר ילדה לו מלכה ואשם הנזם על אפה והצמידים על ידיה ‬ (Ⅴ)

24. 48

Pronusque adoravi Dominum, benedicens Domino Deo domini mei Abraham, qui perduxit me recto itinere, ut sumerem filiam fratris domini mei filio ejus.

- Puis je me suis incliné et prosterné devant l'Éternel, et j'ai béni L'Éternel, le Dieu de mon seigneur Abraham, qui m'a conduit fidèlement, afin que je prisse la fille du frère de mon seigneur pour son fils. (Ⅱ)

- And I bowed down my head, and worshipped the LORD, and blessed the LORD God of my master Abraham, which had led me in the right way to take my master's brother's daughter unto his son. (Ⅲ)

- καὶ εὐδοκήσας προσεκύνησα κυρίω̨ καὶ εὐλόγησα κύριον τὸν θεὸν του̃ κυρίου μου Αβρααμ ὃς εὐόδωσέν μοι ἐν ὁδω̨̃ ἀληθείας λαβει̃ν τὴν θυγατέρα του̃ ἀδελφου̃ του̃ κυρίου μου τω̨̃ υἱω̨̃ αὐτου̃ (Ⅳ)

- ‫ 48 ׃24 ואקד ואשתחוה ליהוה ואברך את יהוה אלהי אדני אברהם אשר הנחני בדרך אמת לקחת את בת אחי אדני לבנו ‬ (Ⅴ)

24. 49

Quam ob rem si facitis misericordiam et veritatem cum domino meo, indicate mihi : sin autem aliud placet, et hoc dicite mihi, ut vadam ad dextram, sive ad sinistram.\

- Maintenant, si vous voulez user de bienveillance et de fidélité envers mon seigneur, déclarez-le-moi; sinon, déclarez-le-moi, et je me tournerai à droite ou à gauche. (Ⅱ)

- And now if ye will deal kindly and truly with my master, tell me: and if not, tell me; that I may turn to the right hand, or to the left. (Ⅲ)

- εἰ οὐ̃ν ποιει̃τε ὑμει̃ς ἔλεος καὶ δικαιοσύνην πρὸς τὸν κύριόν μου ἀπαγγείλατέ μοι εἰ δὲ μή ἀπαγγείλατέ μοι ἵνα ἐπιστρέψω εἰς δεξιὰν ἢ εἰς ἀριστεράν (Ⅳ)

- ‫ 49 ׃24 ועתה אם ישכם עשים חסד ואמת את אדני הגידו לי ואם לא הגידו לי ואפנה על ימין או על שמאל ‬ (Ⅴ)

24. 50

Responderuntque Laban et Bathuel : A Domino egressus est sermo : non possumus extra placitum ejus quidquam aliud loqui tecum.

- Laban et Bethuel répondirent, et dirent: C'est de l'Éternel que la chose vient; nous ne pouvons te parler ni en mal ni en bien. (Ⅱ)

- Then Laban and Bethuel answered and said, The thing proceedeth from the LORD: we cannot speak unto thee bad or good. (Ⅲ)

- ἀποκριθεὶς δὲ Λαβαν καὶ Βαθουηλ εἰ̃παν παρὰ κυρίου ἐξη̃λθεν τὸ πρόσταγμα του̃το οὐ δυνησόμεθα οὐ̃ν σοι ἀντειπει̃ν κακὸν καλω̨̃ (Ⅳ)

- ‫ 50 ׃24 ויען לבן ובתואל ויאמרו מיהוה יצא הדבר לא נוכל דבר אליך רע או טוב ‬ (Ⅴ)
