Senuit autem Isaac, et caligaverunt oculi ejus, et videre non poterat : vocavitque Esau filium suum majorem, et dixit ei : Fili mi ? Qui respondit : Adsum.
- Isaac devenait vieux, et ses yeux s'étaient affaiblis au point qu'il ne voyait plus. Alors il appela Ésaü, son fils aîné, et lui dit: Mon fils! Et il lui répondit: Me voici! (Ⅱ) - And it came to pass, that when Isaac was old, and his eyes were dim, so that he could not see, he called Esau his eldest son, and said unto him, My son: and he said unto him, Behold, here am I. (Ⅲ) - ἐγένετο δὲ μετὰ τὸ γηρα̃σαι Ισαακ καὶ ἠμβλύνθησαν οἱ ὀφθαλμοὶ αὐτου̃ του̃ ὁρα̃ν καὶ ἐκάλεσεν Ησαυ τὸν υἱὸν αὐτου̃ τὸν πρεσβύτερον καὶ εἰ̃πεν αὐτω̨̃ υἱέ μου καὶ εἰ̃πεν ἰδοὺ ἐγώ (Ⅳ) - 1 ׃27 ויהי כי זקן יצחק ותכהין עיניו מראת ויקרא את עשו בנו הגדל ויאמר אליו בני ויאמר אליו הנני (Ⅴ)

Cui pater : Vides, inquit, quod senuerim, et ignorem diem mortis meæ.
- Isaac dit: Voici donc, je suis vieux, je ne connais pas le jour de ma mort. (Ⅱ) - And he said, Behold now, I am old, I know not the day of my death: (Ⅲ) - καὶ εἰ̃πεν ἰδοὺ γεγήρακα καὶ οὐ γινώσκω τὴν ἡμέραν τη̃ς τελευτη̃ς μου (Ⅳ) - 2 ׃27 ויאמר הנה נא זקנתי לא ידעתי יום מותי (Ⅴ)

Sume arma tua, pharetram, et arcum, et egredere foras : cumque venatu aliquid apprehenderis,
- Maintenant donc, je te prie, prends tes armes, ton carquois et ton arc, va dans les champs, et chasse-moi du gibier. (Ⅱ) - Now therefore take, I pray thee, thy weapons, thy quiver and thy bow, and go out to the field, and take me some venison; (Ⅲ) - νυ̃ν οὐ̃ν λαβὲ τὸ σκευ̃ός σου τήν τε φαρέτραν καὶ τὸ τόξον καὶ ἔξελθε εἰς τὸ πεδίον καὶ θήρευσόν μοι θήραν (Ⅳ) - 3 ׃27 ועתה שא נא כליך תליך וקשתך וצא השדה וצודה לי *צידה **ציד (Ⅴ)

fac mihi inde pulmentum sicut velle me nosti, et affer ut comedam : et benedicat tibi anima mea antequam moriar.
- Fais-moi un mets comme j'aime, et apporte-le-moi à manger, afin que mon âme te bénisse avant que je meure. (Ⅱ) - And make me savory meat, such as I love, and bring it to me, that I may eat; that my soul may bless thee before I die. (Ⅲ) - καὶ ποίησόν μοι ἐδέσματα ὡς φιλω̃ ἐγώ καὶ ἔνεγκέ μοι ἵνα φάγω ὅπως εὐλογήση̨ σε ἡ ψυχή μου πρὶν ἀποθανει̃ν με (Ⅳ) - 4 ׃27 ועשה לי מטעמים כאשר אהבתי והביאה לי ואכלה בעבור תברכך נפשי בטרם אמות (Ⅴ)

Quod cum audisset Rebecca, et ille abiisset in agrum ut jussionem patris impleret,
- Rebecca écouta ce qu'Isaac disait à Ésaü, son fils. Et Ésaü s'en alla dans les champs, pour chasser du gibier et pour le rapporter. (Ⅱ) - And Rebekah heard when Isaac spake to Esau his son. And Esau went to the field to hunt for venison, and to bring it. (Ⅲ) - Ρεβεκκα δὲ ἤκουσεν λαλου̃ντος Ισαακ πρὸς Ησαυ τὸν υἱὸν αὐτου̃ ἐπορεύθη δὲ Ησαυ εἰς τὸ πεδίον θηρευ̃σαι θήραν τω̨̃ πατρὶ αὐτου̃ (Ⅳ) - 5 ׃27 ורבקה שמעת בדבר יצחק אל עשו בנו וילך עשו השדה לצוד ציד להביא (Ⅴ)

dixit filio suo Jacob : Audivi patrem tuum loquentem cum Esau fratre tuo, et dicentem ei :
- Puis Rebecca dit à Jacob, son fils: Voici, j'ai entendu ton père qui parlait ainsi à Ésaü, ton frère: (Ⅱ) - And Rebekah spake unto Jacob her son, saying, Behold, I heard thy father speak unto Esau thy brother, saying, (Ⅲ) - Ρεβεκκα δὲ εἰ̃πεν πρὸς Ιακωβ τὸν υἱὸν αὐτη̃ς τὸν ἐλάσσω ἰδὲ ἐγὼ ἤκουσα του̃ πατρός σου λαλου̃ντος πρὸς Ησαυ τὸν ἀδελφόν σου λέγοντος (Ⅳ) - 6 ׃27 ורבקה אמרה אל יעקב בנה לאמר הנה שמעתי את אביך מדבר אל עשו אחיך לאמר (Ⅴ)

Affer mihi de venatione tua, et fac cibos ut comedam, et benedicam tibi coram Domino antequam moriar.
- Apporte-moi du gibier et fais-moi un mets que je mangerai; et je te bénirai devant l'Éternel avant ma mort. (Ⅱ) - Bring me venison, and make me savory meat, that I may eat, and bless thee before the LORD before my death. (Ⅲ) - ἔνεγκόν μοι θήραν καὶ ποίησόν μοι ἐδέσματα καὶ φαγὼν εὐλογήσω σε ἐναντίον κυρίου πρὸ του̃ ἀποθανει̃ν με (Ⅳ) - 7 ׃27 הביאה לי ציד ועשה לי מטעמים ואכלה ואברככה לפני יהוה לפני מותי (Ⅴ)

Nunc ergo, fili mi, acquiesce consiliis meis :
- Maintenant, mon fils, écoute ma voix à l'égard de ce que je te commande. (Ⅱ) - Now therefore, my son, obey my voice according to that which I command thee. (Ⅲ) - νυ̃ν οὐ̃ν υἱέ ἄκουσόν μου καθὰ ἐγώ σοι ἐντέλλομαι (Ⅳ) - 8 ׃27 ועתה בני שמע בקלי לאשר אני מצוה אתך (Ⅴ)

et pergens ad gregem, affer mihi duos hædos optimos, ut faciam ex eis escas patri tuo, quibus libenter vescitur :
- Va me prendre au troupeau deux bons chevreaux; j'en ferai pour ton père un mets comme il aime; (Ⅱ) - Go now to the flock, and fetch me from thence two good kids of the goats; and I will make them savory meat for thy father, such as he loveth: (Ⅲ) - καὶ πορευθεὶς εἰς τὰ πρόβατα λαβέ μοι ἐκει̃θεν δύο ἐρίφους ἁπαλοὺς καὶ καλούς καὶ ποιήσω αὐτοὺς ἐδέσματα τω̨̃ πατρί σου ὡς φιλει̃ (Ⅳ) - 9 ׃27 לך נא אל הצאן וקח לי משם שני גדיי עזים טבים ואעשה אתם מטעמים לאביך כאשר אהב (Ⅴ)

quas cum intuleris, et comederit, benedicat tibi priusquam moriatur.
- et tu le porteras à manger à ton père, afin qu'il te bénisse avant sa mort. (Ⅱ) - And thou shalt bring it to thy father, that he may eat, and that he may bless thee before his death. (Ⅲ) - καὶ εἰσοίσεις τω̨̃ πατρί σου καὶ φάγεται ὅπως εὐλογήση̨ σε ὁ πατήρ σου πρὸ του̃ ἀποθανει̃ν αὐτόν (Ⅳ) - 10 ׃27 והבאת לאביך ואכל בעבר אשר יברכך לפני מותו (Ⅴ)

Cui ille respondit : Nosti quod Esau frater meus homo pilosus sit, et ego lenis :
- Jacob répondit à sa mère: Voici, Ésaü, mon frère, est velu, et je n'ai point de poil. (Ⅱ) - And Jacob said to Rebekah his mother, Behold, Esau my brother is a hairy man, and I am a smooth man: (Ⅲ) - εἰ̃πεν δὲ Ιακωβ πρὸς Ρεβεκκαν τὴν μητέρα αὐτου̃ ἔστιν Ησαυ ὁ ἀδελφός μου ἀνὴρ δασύς ἐγὼ δὲ ἀνὴρ λει̃ος (Ⅳ) - 11 ׃27 ויאמר יעקב אל רבקה אמו הן עשו אחי איש שער ואנכי איש חלק (Ⅴ)

si attrectaverit me pater meus, et senserit, timeo ne putet me sibi voluisse illudere, et inducam super me maledictionem pro benedictione.
- Peut-être mon père me touchera-t-il, et je passerai à ses yeux pour un menteur, et je ferai venir sur moi la malédiction, et non la bénédiction. (Ⅱ) - My father peradventure will feel me, and I shall seem to him as a deceiver; and I shall bring a curse upon me, and not a blessing. (Ⅲ) - μήποτε ψηλαφήση̨ με ὁ πατήρ μου καὶ ἔσομαι ἐναντίον αὐτου̃ ὡς καταφρονω̃ν καὶ ἐπάξω ἐπ' ἐμαυτὸν κατάραν καὶ οὐκ εὐλογίαν (Ⅳ) - 12 ׃27 אולי ימשני אבי והייתי בעיניו כמתעתע והבאתי עלי קללה ולא ברכה (Ⅴ)

Ad quem mater : In me sit, ait, ista maledictio, fili mi : tantum audi vocem meam, et pergens, affer quæ dixi.
- Sa mère lui dit: Que cette malédiction, mon fils, retombe sur moi! Écoute seulement ma voix, et va me les prendre. (Ⅱ) - And his mother said unto him, Upon me be thy curse, my son: only obey my voice, and go fetch me them. (Ⅲ) - εἰ̃πεν δὲ αὐτω̨̃ ἡ μήτηρ ἐπ' ἐμὲ ἡ κατάρα σου τέκνον μόνον ὑπάκουσον τη̃ς φωνη̃ς μου καὶ πορευθεὶς ἔνεγκέ μοι (Ⅳ) - 13 ׃27 ותאמר לו אמו עלי קללתך בני אך שמע בקלי ולך קח לי (Ⅴ)

Abiit, et attulit, deditque matri. Paravit illa cibos, sicut velle noverat patrem illius.
- Jacob alla les prendre, et les apporta à sa mère, qui fit un mets comme son père aimait. (Ⅱ) - And he went, and fetched, and brought them to his mother: and his mother made savory meat, such as his father loved. (Ⅲ) - πορευθεὶς δὲ ἔλαβεν καὶ ἤνεγκεν τη̨̃ μητρί καὶ ἐποίησεν ἡ μήτηρ αὐτου̃ ἐδέσματα καθὰ ἐφίλει ὁ πατὴρ αὐτου̃ (Ⅳ) - 14 ׃27 וילך ויקח ויבא לאמו ותעש אמו מטעמים כאשר אהב אביו (Ⅴ)

Et vestibus Esau valde bonis, quas apud se habebat domi, induit eum :
- Ensuite, Rebecca prit les vêtements d'Ésaü, son fils aîné, les plus beaux qui se trouvaient à la maison, et elle les fit mettre à Jacob, son fils cadet. (Ⅱ) - And Rebekah took goodly raiment of her eldest son Esau, which were with her in the house, and put them upon Jacob her younger son: (Ⅲ) - καὶ λαβου̃σα Ρεβεκκα τὴν στολὴν Ησαυ του̃ υἱου̃ αὐτη̃ς του̃ πρεσβυτέρου τὴν καλήν ἣ ἠ̃ν παρ' αὐτη̨̃ ἐν τω̨̃ οἴκω̨ ἐνέδυσεν Ιακωβ τὸν υἱὸν αὐτη̃ς τὸν νεώτερον (Ⅳ) - 15 ׃27 ותקח רבקה את בגדי עשו בנה הגדל החמדת אשר אתה בבית ותלבש את יעקב בנה הקטן (Ⅴ)

- Elle couvrit ses mains de la peau des chevreaux, et son cou qui était sans poil. (Ⅱ) - And she put the skins of the kids of the goats upon his hands, and upon the smooth of his neck: (Ⅲ) - καὶ τὰ δέρματα τω̃ν ἐρίφων περιέθηκεν ἐπὶ τοὺς βραχίονας αὐτου̃ καὶ ἐπὶ τὰ γυμνὰ του̃ τραχήλου αὐτου̃ (Ⅳ) - 16 ׃27 ואת ערת גדיי העזים הלבישה על ידיו ועל חלקת צואריו (Ⅴ)

deditque pulmentum, et panes, quos coxerat, tradidit.
- Et elle plaça dans la main de Jacob, son fils, le mets et le pain qu'elle avait préparés. (Ⅱ) - And she gave the savory meat and the bread, which she had prepared, into the hand of her son Jacob. (Ⅲ) - καὶ ἔδωκεν τὰ ἐδέσματα καὶ τοὺς ἄρτους οὓς ἐποίησεν εἰς τὰς χει̃ρας Ιακωβ του̃ υἱου̃ αὐτη̃ς (Ⅳ) - 17 ׃27 ותתן את המטעמים ואת הלחם אשר עשתה ביד יעקב בנה (Ⅴ)

Quibus illatis, dixit : Pater mi ? At ille respondit : Audio. Quis es tu, fili mi ?
- Il vint vers son père, et dit: Mon père! Et Isaac dit: Me voici! qui es-tu, mon fils? (Ⅱ) - And he came unto his father, and said, My father: and he said, Here am I; who art thou, my son? (Ⅲ) - καὶ εἰσήνεγκεν τω̨̃ πατρὶ αὐτου̃ εἰ̃πεν δέ πάτερ ὁ δὲ εἰ̃πεν ἰδοὺ ἐγώ τίς εἰ̃ σύ τέκνον (Ⅳ) - 18 ׃27 ויבא אל אביו ויאמר אבי ויאמר הנני מי אתה בני (Ⅴ)

Dixitque Jacob : Ego sum primogenitus tuus Esau : feci sicut præcepisti mihi : surge, sede, et comede de venatione mea, ut benedicat mihi anima tua.
- Jacob répondit à son père: Je suis Ésaü, ton fils aîné; j'ai fait ce que tu m'as dit. Lève-toi, je te prie, assieds-toi, et mange de mon gibier, afin que ton âme me bénisse. (Ⅱ) - And Jacob said unto his father, I am Esau thy first born; I have done according as thou badest me: arise, I pray thee, sit and eat of my venison, that thy soul may bless me. (Ⅲ) - καὶ εἰ̃πεν Ιακωβ τω̨̃ πατρὶ αὐτου̃ ἐγὼ Ησαυ ὁ πρωτότοκός σου ἐποίησα καθὰ ἐλάλησάς μοι ἀναστὰς κάθισον καὶ φάγε τη̃ς θήρας μου ὅπως εὐλογήση̨ με ἡ ψυχή σου (Ⅳ) - 19 ׃27 ויאמר יעקב אל אביו אנכי עשו בכרך עשיתי כאשר דברת אלי קום נא שבה ואכלה מצידי בעבור תברכני נפשך (Ⅴ)

Rursumque Isaac ad filium suum : Quomodo, inquit, tam cito invenire potuisti, fili mi ? Qui respondit : Voluntas Dei fuit ut cito occurreret mihi quod volebam.
- Isaac dit à son fils: Eh quoi! tu en as déjà trouvé, mon fils! Et Jacob répondit: C'est que l'Éternel, ton Dieu, l'a fait venir devant moi. (Ⅱ) - And Isaac said unto his son, How is it that thou hast found it so quickly, my son? And he said, Because the LORD thy God brought it to me. (Ⅲ) - εἰ̃πεν δὲ Ισαακ τω̨̃ υἱω̨̃ αὐτου̃ τί του̃το ὃ ταχὺ εὑ̃ρες ὠ̃ τέκνον ὁ δὲ εἰ̃πεν ὃ παρέδωκεν κύριος ὁ θεός σου ἐναντίον μου (Ⅳ) - 20 ׃27 ויאמר יצחק אל בנו מה זה מהרת למצא בני ויאמר כי הקרה יהוה אלהיך לפני (Ⅴ)

Dixitque Isaac : Accede huc, ut tangam te, fili mi, et probem utrum tu sis filius meus Esau, an non.
- Isaac dit à Jacob: Approche donc, et que je te touche, mon fils, pour savoir si tu es mon fils Ésaü, ou non. (Ⅱ) - And Isaac said unto Jacob, Come near, I pray thee, that I may feel thee, my son, whether thou be my very son Esau or not. (Ⅲ) - εἰ̃πεν δὲ Ισαακ τω̨̃ Ιακωβ ἔγγισόν μοι καὶ ψηλαφήσω σε τέκνον εἰ σὺ εἰ̃ ὁ υἱός μου Ησαυ ἢ οὔ (Ⅳ) - 21 ׃27 ויאמר יצחק אל יעקב גשה נא ואמשך בני האתה זה בני עשו אם לא (Ⅴ)

Accessit ille ad patrem, et palpato eo, dixit Isaac : Vox quidem, vox Jacob est : sed manus, manus sunt Esau.
- Jacob s'approcha d'Isaac, son père, qui le toucha, et dit: La voix est la voix de Jacob, mais les mains sont les mains d'Ésaü. (Ⅱ) - And Jacob went near unto Isaac his father; and he felt him, and said, The voice is Jacob's voice, but the hands are the hands of Esau. (Ⅲ) - ἤγγισεν δὲ Ιακωβ πρὸς Ισαακ τὸν πατέρα αὐτου̃ καὶ ἐψηλάφησεν αὐτὸν καὶ εἰ̃πεν ἡ μὲν φωνὴ φωνὴ Ιακωβ αἱ δὲ χει̃ρες χει̃ρες Ησαυ (Ⅳ) - 22 ׃27 ויגש יעקב אל יצחק אביו וימשהו ויאמר הקל קול יעקב והידים ידי עשו (Ⅴ)

Et non cognovit eum, quia pilosæ manus similitudinem majoris expresserant. Benedicens ergo illi,
- Il ne le reconnut pas, parce que ses mains étaient velues, comme les mains d'Ésaü, son frère; et il le bénit. (Ⅱ) - And he discerned him not, because his hands were hairy, as his brother Esau's hands: so he blessed him. (Ⅲ) - καὶ οὐκ ἐπέγνω αὐτόν ἠ̃σαν γὰρ αἱ χει̃ρες αὐτου̃ ὡς αἱ χει̃ρες Ησαυ του̃ ἀδελφου̃ αὐτου̃ δασει̃αι καὶ ηὐλόγησεν αὐτόν (Ⅳ) - 23 ׃27 ולא הכירו כי היו ידיו כידי עשו אחיו שערת ויברכהו (Ⅴ)

ait : Tu es filius meus Esau ? Respondit : Ego sum.
- Il dit: C'est toi qui es mon fils Ésaü? Et Jacob répondit: C'est moi. (Ⅱ) - And he said, Art thou my very son Esau? And he said, I am. (Ⅲ) - καὶ εἰ̃πεν σὺ εἰ̃ ὁ υἱός μου Ησαυ ὁ δὲ εἰ̃πεν ἐγώ (Ⅳ) - 24 ׃27 ויאמר אתה זה בני עשו ויאמר אני (Ⅴ)

At ille : Affer mihi, inquit, cibos de venatione tua, fili mi, ut benedicat tibi anima mea. Quos cum oblatos comedisset, obtulit ei etiam vinum. Quo hausto,
- Isaac dit: Sers-moi, et que je mange du gibier de mon fils, afin que mon âme te bénisse. Jacob le servit, et il mangea; il lui apporta aussi du vin, et il but. (Ⅱ) - And he said, Bring it near to me, and I will eat of my son's venison, that my soul may bless thee. And he brought it near to him, and he did eat: and he brought him wine and he drank. (Ⅲ) - καὶ εἰ̃πεν προσάγαγέ μοι καὶ φάγομαι ἀπὸ τη̃ς θήρας σου τέκνον ἵνα εὐλογήση̨ σε ἡ ψυχή μου καὶ προσήγαγεν αὐτω̨̃ καὶ ἔφαγεν καὶ εἰσήνεγκεν αὐτω̨̃ οἰ̃νον καὶ ἔπιεν (Ⅳ) - 25 ׃27 ויאמר הגשה לי ואכלה מציד בני למען תברכך נפשי ויגש לו ויאכל ויבא לו יין וישת (Ⅴ)

dixit ad eum : Accede ad me, et da mihi osculum, fili mi.
- Alors Isaac, son père, lui dit: Approche donc, et baise-moi, mon fils. (Ⅱ) - And his father Isaac said unto him, Come near now, and kiss me, my son. (Ⅲ) - καὶ εἰ̃πεν αὐτω̨̃ Ισαακ ὁ πατὴρ αὐτου̃ ἔγγισόν μοι καὶ φίλησόν με τέκνον (Ⅳ) - 26 ׃27 ויאמר אליו יצחק אביו גשה נא ושקה לי בני (Ⅴ)

Accessit, et osculatus est eum. Statimque ut sensit vestimentorum illius fragrantiam, benedicens illi, ait : [Ecce odor filii mei/ sicut odor agri pleni,/ cui benedixit Dominus./
- Jacob s'approcha, et le baisa. Isaac sentit l'odeur de ses vêtements; puis il le bénit, et dit: Voici, l'odeur de mon fils est comme l'odeur d'un champ que l'Éternel a béni. (Ⅱ) - And he came near, and kissed him: and he smelled the smell of his raiment, and blessed him, and said, See, the smell of my son is as the smell of a field which the LORD hath blessed: (Ⅲ) - καὶ ἐγγίσας ἐφίλησεν αὐτόν καὶ ὠσφράνθη τὴν ὀσμὴν τω̃ν ἱματίων αὐτου̃ καὶ ηὐλόγησεν αὐτὸν καὶ εἰ̃πεν ἰδοὺ ὀσμὴ του̃ υἱου̃ μου ὡς ὀσμὴ ἀγρου̃ πλήρους ὃν ηὐλόγησεν κύριος (Ⅳ) - 27 ׃27 ויגש וישק לו וירח את ריח בגדיו ויברכהו ויאמר ראה ריח בני כריח שדה אשר ברכו יהוה (Ⅴ)

Det tibi Deus de rore cæli/ et de pinguedine terræ/ abundantiam frumenti et vini./
- Que Dieu te donne de la rosée du ciel Et de la graisse de la terre, Du blé et du vin en abondance! (Ⅱ) - Therefore God give thee of the dew of heaven, and the fatness of the earth, and plenty of corn and wine: (Ⅲ) - καὶ δώ̨η σοι ὁ θεὸς ἀπὸ τη̃ς δρόσου του̃ οὐρανου̃ καὶ ἀπὸ τη̃ς πιότητος τη̃ς γη̃ς καὶ πλη̃θος σίτου καὶ οἴνου (Ⅳ) - 28 ׃27 ויתן לך האלהים מטל השמים ומשמני הארץ ורב דגן ותירש (Ⅴ)

Et serviant tibi populi,/ et adorent te tribus :/ esto dominus fratrum tuorum,/ et incurventur ante te filii matris tuæ :/ qui maledixerit tibi, sit ille maledictus,/ et qui benedixerit tibi, benedictionibus repleatur.]\

Vix Isaac sermonem impleverat, et egresso Jacob foras, venit Esau,
- Isaac avait fini de bénir Jacob, et Jacob avait à peine quitté son père Isaac, qu'Ésaü, son frère, revint de la chasse. (Ⅱ) - And it came to pass, as soon as Isaac had made an end of blessing Jacob, and Jacob was yet scarce gone out from the presence of Isaac his father, that Esau his brother came in from his hunting. - Il fit aussi un mets, qu'il porta à son père; et il dit à son père: Que mon père se lève et mange du gibier de son fils, afin que ton âme me bénisse! (Ⅱ) - And he also had made savory meat, and brought it unto his father, and said unto his father, Let my father arise, and eat of his son's venison, that thy soul may bless me. Expavit Isaac stupore vehementi : et ultra quam credi potest admirans, ait : Quis igitur ille est qui dudum captam venationem attulit mihi, et comedi ex omnibus priusquam tu venires ; benedixique ei, et erit benedictus ?
- Isaac fut saisi d'une grande, d'une violente émotion, et il dit: Qui est donc celui qui a chassé du gibier, et me l'a apporté? J'ai mangé de tout avant que tu vinsses, et je l'ai béni. Aussi sera-t-il béni. (Ⅱ) - And Isaac trembled very exceedingly, and said, Who? where is he that hath taken venison, and brought it me, and I have eaten of all before thou camest, and have blessed him? yea, and he shall be blessed. Auditis Esau sermonibus patris, irrugiit clamore magno : et consternatus, ait : Benedic etiam et mihi, pater mi.
- Lorsque Ésaü entendit les paroles de son père, il poussa de forts cris, pleins d'amertume, et il dit à son père: Bénis-moi aussi, mon père! (Ⅱ) - And when Esau heard the words of his father, he cried with a great and exceeding bitter cry, and said unto his father, Bless me, even me also, O my father. Qui ait : Venit germanus tuus fraudulenter, et accepit benedictionem tuam.

At ille subjunxit : Juste vocatum est nomen ejus Jacob : supplantavit enim me en altera vice : primogenita mea ante tulit, et nunc secundo surripuit benedictionem meam. Rursumque ad patrem : Numquid non reservasti, ait, et mihi benedictionem ?
- Ésaü dit: Est-ce parce qu'on l'a appelé du nom de Jacob qu'il m'a supplanté deux fois? Il a enlevé mon droit d'aînesse, et voici maintenant qu'il vient d'enlever ma bénédiction. Et il dit: N'as-tu point réservé de bénédiction pour moi? (Ⅱ) - And he said, Is not he rightly named Jacob? for he hath supplanted me these two times: he took away my birthright; and, behold, now he hath taken away my blessing. And he said, Hast thou not reserved a blessing for me? (Ⅲ) - καὶ εἰ̃πεν δικαίως ἐκλήθη τὸ ὄνομα αὐτου̃ Ιακωβ ἐπτέρνικεν γάρ με ἤδη δεύτερον του̃το τά τε πρωτοτόκιά μου εἴληφεν καὶ νυ̃ν εἴληφεν τὴν εὐλογίαν μου καὶ εἰ̃πεν Ησαυ τω̨̃ πατρὶ αὐτου̃ οὐχ ὑπελίπω μοι εὐλογίαν πάτερ (Ⅳ) - 36 ׃27 ויאמר הכי קרא שמו יעקב ויעקבני זה פעמים את בכרתי לקח והנה עתה לקח ברכתי ויאמר הלא אצלת לי ברכה (Ⅴ)

Respondit Isaac : Dominum tuum illum constitui, et omnes fratres ejus servituti illius subjugavi ; frumento et vino stabilivi eum : et tibi post hæc, fili mi, ultra quid faciam ?
- saac répondit, et dit à Ésaü: Voici, je l'ai établi ton maître, et je lui ai donné tous ses frères pour serviteurs, je l'ai pourvu de blé et de vin: que puis-je donc faire pour toi, mon fils? (Ⅱ) - And Isaac answered and said unto Esau, Behold, I have made him thy lord, and all his brethren have I given to him for servants; and with corn and wine have I sustained him: and what shall I do now unto thee, my son? - saü dit à son père: N'as-tu que cette seule bénédiction, mon père? Bénis-moi aussi, mon père! Et Ésaü éleva la voix, et pleura. (Ⅱ) - And Esau said unto his father, Hast thou but one blessing, my father? bless me, even me also, O my father. And Esau lifted up his voice, and wept. erit benedictio tua./ Vives in gladio, et fratri tuo servies :/ tempusque veniet, cum excutias et solvas jugum ejus de cervicibus tuis.]\
- u vivras de ton épée, Et tu seras asservi à ton frère; Mais en errant librement çà et là, Tu briseras son joug de dessus ton cou. (Ⅱ) - And by thy sword shalt thou live, and shalt serve thy brother; and it shall come to pass when thou shalt have the dominion, that thou shalt break his yoke from off thy neck. (Ⅲ) - καὶ ἐπὶ τη̨̃ μαχαίρη̨ σου ζήση̨ καὶ τω̨̃ ἀδελφω̨̃ σου δουλεύσεις ἔσται δὲ ἡνίκα ἐὰν καθέλη̨ς καὶ ἐκλύσεις τὸν ζυγὸν αὐτου̃ ἀπὸ του̃ τραχήλου σου (Ⅳ) - 40 ׃27 ועל חרבך תחיה ואת אחיך תעבד והיה כאשר תריד ופרקת עלו מעל צוארך (Ⅴ)

Oderat ergo semper Esau Jacob pro benedictione qua benedixerat ei pater : dixitque in corde suo : Venient dies luctus patris mei, et occidam Jacob fratrem meum.
- saü conçut de la haine contre Jacob, à cause de la bénédiction dont son père l'avait béni; et Ésaü disait en son coeur: Les jours du deuil de mon père vont approcher, et je tuerai Jacob, mon frère. (Ⅱ) - And Esau hated Jacob because of the blessing wherewith his father blessed him: and Esau said in his heart, The days of mourning for my father are at hand; then will I slay my brother Jacob. Nuntiata sunt hæc Rebeccæ : quæ mittens et vocans Jacob filium suum, dixit ad eum : Ecce Esau frater tuus minatur ut occidat te.

(Ⅱ) - And these words of Esau her elder son were told to Rebekah: and she sent and called Jacob her younger son, and said unto him, Behold, thy brother Esau, as touching thee, doth comfort himself, purposing to kill thee. et cesset indignatio ejus, obliviscaturque eorum quæ fecisti in eum : postea mittam, et adducam te inde huc : cur utroque orbabor filio in uno die ?
- usqu'à ce que la colère de ton frère se détourne de toi, et qu'il oublie ce que tu lui as fait. Alors je te ferai revenir. Pourquoi serais-je privée de vous deux en un même jour? (Ⅱ) - Until thy brother's anger turn away from thee, and he forget that which thou hast done to him: then I will send, and fetch thee from thence: why should I be deprived also of you both in one day? (Ⅲ) - καὶ τὴν ὀργὴν του̃ ἀδελφου̃ σου ἀπὸ σου̃ καὶ ἐπιλάθηται ἃ πεποίηκας αὐτω̨̃ καὶ ἀποστείλασα μεταπέμψομαί σε ἐκει̃θεν μήποτε ἀτεκνωθω̃ ἀπὸ τω̃ν δύο ὑμω̃ν ἐν ἡμέρα̨ μια̨̃ (Ⅳ) - 45 ׃27 עד שוב אף אחיך ממך ושכח את אשר עשית לו ושלחתי ולקחתיך משם למה אשכל גם שניכם יום אחד (Ⅴ)

Dixitque Rebecca ad Isaac : Tædet me vitæ meæ propter filias Heth : si acceperit Jacob uxorem de stirpe hujus terræ, nolo vivere.
- ebecca dit à Isaac: Je suis dégoûtée de la vie, à cause des filles de Heth. Si Jacob prend une femme, comme celles-ci, parmi les filles de Heth, parmi les filles du pays, à quoi me sert la vie? (Ⅱ) - And Rebekah said to Isaac, I am weary of my life because of the daughters of Heth: if Jacob take a wife of the daughters of Heth, such as these which are of the daughters of the land, what good shall my life do me?
