Vocavit itaque Isaac Jacob, et benedixit eum, præcepitque ei dicens : Noli accipere conjugem de genere Chanaan :
- saac appela Jacob, le bénit, et lui donna cet ordre: Tu ne prendras pas une femme parmi les filles de Canaan. (Ⅱ) - And Isaac called Jacob, and blessed him, and charged him, and said unto him, Thou shalt not take a wife of the daughters of Canaan. (Ⅲ) - προσκαλεσάμενος δὲ Ισαακ τὸν Ιακωβ εὐλόγησεν αὐτὸν καὶ ἐνετείλατο αὐτω̨̃ λέγων οὐ λήμψη̨ γυναι̃κα ἐκ τω̃ν θυγατέρων Χανααν (Ⅳ) - 1 ׃28 ויקרא יצחק אל יעקב ויברך אתו ויצוהו ויאמר לו לא תקח אשה מבנות כנען (Ⅴ)

sed vade, et proficiscere in Mesopotamiam Syriæ, ad domum Bathuel patris matris tuæ, et accipe tibi inde uxorem de filiabus Laban avunculi tui.
- ève-toi, va à Paddan-Aram, à la maison de Bethuel, père de ta mère, et prends-y une femme d'entre les filles de Laban, frère de ta mère. (Ⅱ) - Arise, go to Padanaram, to the house of Bethuel thy mother's father; and take thee a wife from thence of the daughters of Laban thy mother's brother. (Ⅲ) - ἀναστὰς ἀπόδραθι εἰς τὴν Μεσοποταμίαν εἰς τὸν οἰ̃κον Βαθουηλ του̃ πατρὸς τη̃ς μητρός σου καὶ λαβὲ σεαυτω̨̃ ἐκει̃θεν γυναι̃κα ἐκ τω̃ν θυγατέρων Λαβαν του̃ ἀδελφου̃ τη̃ς μητρός σου (Ⅳ) - 2 ׃28 קום לך פדנה ארם ביתה בתואל אבי אמך וקח לך משם אשה מבנות לבן אחי אמך (Ⅴ)

Deus autem omnipotens benedicat tibi, et crescere te faciat, atque multiplicet, ut sis in turbas populorum.
- ue le Dieu tout-puissant te bénisse, te rende fécond et te multiplie, afin que tu deviennes une multitude de peuples! (Ⅱ) - And God Almighty bless thee, and make thee fruitful, and multiply thee, that thou mayest be a multitude of people; (Ⅲ) - ὁ δὲ θεός μου εὐλογήσαι σε καὶ αὐξήσαι σε καὶ πληθύναι σε καὶ ἔση̨ εἰς συναγωγὰς ἐθνω̃ν (Ⅳ) - 3 ׃28 ואל שדי יברך אתך ויפרך וירבך והיית לקהל עמים (Ⅴ)

Et det tibi benedictiones Abrahæ, et semini tuo post te : ut possideas terram peregrinationis tuæ, quam pollicitus est avo tuo.
- u'il te donne la bénédiction d'Abraham, à toi et à ta postérité avec toi, afin que tu possèdes le pays où tu habites comme étranger, et qu'il a donné à Abraham! (Ⅱ) - And give thee the blessing of Abraham, to thee, and to thy seed with thee; that thou mayest inherit the land wherein thou art a stranger, which God gave unto Abraham. (Ⅲ) - καὶ δώ̨η σοι τὴν εὐλογίαν Αβρααμ του̃ πατρός μου σοὶ καὶ τω̨̃ σπέρματί σου μετὰ σέ κληρονομη̃σαι τὴν γη̃ν τη̃ς παροικήσεώς σου ἣν ἔδωκεν ὁ θεὸς τω̨̃ Αβρααμ (Ⅳ) - 4 ׃28 ויתן לך את ברכת אברהם לך ולזרעך אתך לרשתך את ארץ מגריך אשר נתן אלהים לאברהם (Ⅴ)

Cumque dimisisset eum Isaac, profectus venit in Mesopotamiam Syriæ ad Laban filium Bathuel Syri, fratrem Rebeccæ matris suæ.
- t Isaac fit partir Jacob, qui s'en alla à Paddan-Aram, auprès de Laban, fils de Bethuel, l'Araméen, frère de Rebecca, mère de Jacob et d'Ésaü. (Ⅱ) - And Isaac sent away Jacob: and he went to Padanaram unto Laban, son of Bethuel the Syrian, the brother of Rebekah, Jacob's and Esau's mother. (Ⅲ) - καὶ ἀπέστειλεν Ισαακ τὸν Ιακωβ καὶ ἐπορεύθη εἰς τὴν Μεσοποταμίαν πρὸς Λαβαν τὸν υἱὸν Βαθουηλ του̃ Σύρου ἀδελφὸν δὲ Ρεβεκκας τη̃ς μητρὸς Ιακωβ καὶ Ησαυ (Ⅳ) - 5 ׃28 וישלח יצחק את יעקב וילך פדנה ארם אל לבן בן בתואל הארמי אחי רבקה אם יעקב ועשו (Ⅴ)

Videns autem Esau quod benedixisset pater suus Jacob, et misisset eum in Mesopotamiam Syriæ, ut inde uxorem duceret ; et quod post benedictionem præcepisset ei, dicens : Non accipies uxorem de filiabus Chanaan :
- saü vit qu'Isaac avait béni Jacob, et qu'il l'avait envoyé à Paddan-Aram pour y prendre une femme, et qu'en le bénissant il lui avait donné cet ordre: Tu ne prendras pas une femme parmi les filles de Canaan. (Ⅱ) - When Esau saw that Isaac had blessed Jacob, and sent him away to Padanaram, to take him a wife from thence; and that as he blessed him he gave him a charge, saying, Thou shalt not take a wife of the daughters of Canaan; (Ⅲ) - εἰ̃δεν δὲ Ησαυ ὅτι εὐλόγησεν Ισαακ τὸν Ιακωβ καὶ ἀπώ̨χετο εἰς τὴν Μεσοποταμίαν Συρίας λαβει̃ν ἑαυτω̨̃ ἐκει̃θεν γυναι̃κα ἐν τω̨̃ εὐλογει̃ν αὐτὸν καὶ ἐνετείλατο αὐτω̨̃ λέγων οὐ λήμψη̨ γυναι̃κα ἀπὸ τω̃ν θυγατέρων Χανααν (Ⅳ) - 6 ׃28 וירא עשו כי ברך יצחק את יעקב ושלח אתו פדנה ארם לקחת לו משם אשה בברכו אתו ויצו עליו לאמר לא תקח אשה מבנות כנען (Ⅴ)

quodque obediens Jacob parentibus suis isset in Syriam :
- l vit que Jacob avait obéi à son père et à sa mère, et qu'il était parti pour Paddan-Aram. (Ⅱ) - And that Jacob obeyed his father and his mother, and was gone to Padanaram; (Ⅲ) - καὶ ἤκουσεν Ιακωβ του̃ πατρὸς καὶ τη̃ς μητρὸς αὐτου̃ καὶ ἐπορεύθη εἰς τὴν Μεσοποταμίαν Συρίας (Ⅳ) - 7 ׃28 וישמע יעקב אל אביו ואל אמו וילך פדנה ארם (Ⅴ)

probans quoque quod non libenter aspiceret filias Chanaan pater suus :
- saü comprit ainsi que les filles de Canaan déplaisaient à Isaac, son père. (Ⅱ) - And Esau seeing that the daughters of Canaan pleased not Isaac his father; (Ⅲ) - καὶ εἰ̃δεν Ησαυ ὅτι πονηραί εἰσιν αἱ θυγατέρες Χανααν ἐναντίον Ισαακ του̃ πατρὸς αὐτου̃ (Ⅳ) - 8 ׃28 וירא עשו כי רעות בנות כנען בעיני יצחק אביו (Ⅴ)

ivit ad Ismaëlem, et duxit uxorem absque iis, quas prius habebat, Maheleth filiam Ismaël filii Abraham, sororem Nabaioth.\
- t Ésaü s'en alla vers Ismaël. Il prit pour femme, outre les femmes qu'il avait, Mahalath, fille d'Ismaël, fils d'Abraham, et soeur de Nebajoth. (Ⅱ) - Then went Esau unto Ishmael, and took unto the wives which he had Mahalath the daughter of Ishmael Abraham's son, the sister of Nebajoth, to be his wife. (Ⅲ) - καὶ ἐπορεύθη Ησαυ πρὸς Ισμαηλ καὶ ἔλαβεν τὴν Μαελεθ θυγατέρα Ισμαηλ του̃ υἱου̃ Αβρααμ ἀδελφὴν Ναβαιωθ πρὸς ται̃ς γυναιξὶν αὐτου̃ γυναι̃κα (Ⅳ) - 9 ׃28 וילך עשו אל ישמעאל ויקח את מחלת בת ישמעאל בן אברהם אחות נביות על נשיו לו לאשה ס (Ⅴ)

Igitur egressus Jacob de Bersabee, pergebat Haran.
- acob partit de Beer-Schéba, et s'en alla à Charan. (Ⅱ) - And Jacob went out from Beersheba, and went toward Haran. (Ⅲ) - καὶ ἐξη̃λθεν Ιακωβ ἀπὸ του̃ φρέατος του̃ ὅρκου καὶ ἐπορεύθη εἰς Χαρραν (Ⅳ) - 10 ׃28 ויצא יעקב מבאר שבע וילך חרנה (Ⅴ)

Cumque venisset ad quemdam locum, et vellet in eo requiescere post solis occubitum, tulit de lapidibus qui jacebant, et supponens capiti suo, dormivit in eodem loco.
- l arriva dans un lieu où il passa la nuit; car le soleil était couché. Il y prit une pierre, dont il fit son chevet, et il se coucha dans ce lieu-là. (Ⅱ) - And he lighted upon a certain place, and tarried there all night, because the sun was set; and he took of the stones of that place, and put them for his pillows, and lay down in that place to sleep. (Ⅲ) - καὶ ἀπήντησεν τόπω̨ καὶ ἐκοιμήθη ἐκει̃ ἔδυ γὰρ ὁ ἥλιος καὶ ἔλαβεν ἀπὸ τω̃ν λίθων του̃ τόπου καὶ ἔθηκεν πρὸς κεφαλη̃ς αὐτου̃ καὶ ἐκοιμήθη ἐν τω̨̃ τόπω̨ ἐκείνω̨ (Ⅳ) - 11 ׃28 ויפגע במקום וילן שם כי בא השמש ויקח מאבני המקום וישם מראשתיו וישכב במקום ההוא (Ⅴ)

Viditque in somnis scalam stantem super terram, et cacumen illius tangens cælum : angelos quoque Dei ascendentes et descendentes per eam,
- l eut un songe. Et voici, une échelle était appuyée sur la terre, et son sommet touchait au ciel. Et voici, les anges de Dieu montaient et descendaient par cette échelle. (Ⅱ) - And he dreamed, and behold a ladder set up on the earth, and the top of it reached to heaven: and behold the angels of God ascending and descending on it. (Ⅲ) - καὶ ἐνυπνιάσθη καὶ ἰδοὺ κλίμαξ ἐστηριγμένη ἐν τη̨̃ γη̨̃ ἡ̃ς ἡ κεφαλὴ ἀφικνει̃το εἰς τὸν οὐρανόν καὶ οἱ ἄγγελοι του̃ θεου̃ ἀνέβαινον καὶ κατέβαινον ἐπ' αὐτη̃ς (Ⅳ) - 12 ׃28 ויחלם והנה סלם מצב ארצה וראשו מגיע השמימה והנה מלאכי אלהים עלים וירדים בו (Ⅴ)

et Dominum innixum scalæ dicentem sibi : Ego sum Dominus Deus Abraham patris tui, et Deus Isaac : terram, in qua dormis, tibi dabo et semini tuo.
- t voici, l'Éternel se tenait au-dessus d'elle; et il dit: Je suis l'Éternel, le Dieu d'Abraham, ton père, et le Dieu d'Isaac. La terre sur laquelle tu es couché, je la donnerai à toi et à ta postérité. (Ⅱ) - And, behold, the LORD stood above it, and said, I am the LORD God of Abraham thy father, and the God of Isaac: the land whereon thou liest, to thee will I give it, and to thy seed; (Ⅲ) - ὁ δὲ κύριος ἐπεστήρικτο ἐπ' αὐτη̃ς καὶ εἰ̃πεν ἐγὼ κύριος ὁ θεὸς Αβρααμ του̃ πατρός σου καὶ ὁ θεὸς Ισαακ μὴ φοβου̃ ἡ γη̃ ἐφ' ἡ̃ς σὺ καθεύδεις ἐπ' αὐτη̃ς σοὶ δώσω αὐτὴν καὶ τω̨̃ σπέρματί σου (Ⅳ) - 13 ׃28 והנה יהוה נצב עליו ויאמר אני יהוה אלהי אברהם אביך ואלהי יצחק הארץ אשר אתה שכב עליה לך אתננה ולזרעך (Ⅴ)

Eritque semen tuum quasi pulvis terræ : dilataberis ad occidentem, et orientem, et septentrionem, et meridiem : et benedicentur in te et in semine tuo cunctæ tribus terræ.
- a postérité sera comme la poussière de la terre; tu t'étendras à l'occident et à l'orient, au septentrion et au midi; et toutes les familles de la terre seront bénies en toi et en ta postérité. (Ⅱ) - And thy seed shall be as the dust of the earth, and thou shalt spread abroad to the west, and to the east, and to the north, and to the south: and in thee and in thy seed shall all the families of the earth be blessed. (Ⅲ) - καὶ ἔσται τὸ σπέρμα σου ὡς ἡ ἄμμος τη̃ς γη̃ς καὶ πλατυνθήσεται ἐπὶ θάλασσαν καὶ ἐπὶ λίβα καὶ ἐπὶ βορρα̃ν καὶ ἐπ' ἀνατολάς καὶ ἐνευλογηθήσονται ἐν σοὶ πα̃σαι αἱ φυλαὶ τη̃ς γη̃ς καὶ ἐν τω̨̃ σπέρματί σου (Ⅳ) - 14 ׃28 והיה זרעך כעפר הארץ ופרצת ימה וקדמה וצפנה ונגבה ונברכו בך כל משפחת האדמה ובזרעך (Ⅴ)

Et ero custos tuus quocumque perrexeris, et reducam te in terram hanc : nec dimittam nisi complevero universa quæ dixi.
- oici, je suis avec toi, je te garderai partout où tu iras, et je te ramènerai dans ce pays; car je ne t'abandonnerai point, que je n'aie exécuté ce que je te dis. (Ⅱ) - And, behold, I am with thee, and will keep thee in all places whither thou goest, and will bring thee again into this land; for I will not leave thee, until I have done that which I have spoken to thee of. (Ⅲ) - καὶ ἰδοὺ ἐγὼ μετὰ σου̃ διαφυλάσσων σε ἐν τη̨̃ ὁδω̨̃ πάση̨ οὑ̃ ἐὰν πορευθη̨̃ς καὶ ἀποστρέψω σε εἰς τὴν γη̃ν ταύτην ὅτι οὐ μή σε ἐγκαταλίπω ἕως του̃ ποιη̃σαί με πάντα ὅσα ἐλάλησά σοι (Ⅳ) - 15 ׃28 והנה אנכי עמך ושמרתיך בכל אשר תלך והשבתיך אל האדמה הזאת כי לא אעזבך עד אשר אם עשיתי את אשר דברתי לך (Ⅴ)

Cumque evigilasset Jacob de somno, ait : Vere Dominus est in loco isto, et ego nesciebam.
- acob s'éveilla de son sommeil et il dit: Certainement, l'Éternel est en ce lieu, et moi, je ne le savais pas! (Ⅱ) - And Jacob awaked out of his sleep, and he said, Surely the LORD is in this place; and I knew it not. (Ⅲ) - καὶ ἐξηγέρθη Ιακωβ ἀπὸ του̃ ὕπνου αὐτου̃ καὶ εἰ̃πεν ὅτι ἔστιν κύριος ἐν τω̨̃ τόπω̨ τούτω̨ ἐγὼ δὲ οὐκ ἤ̨δειν (Ⅳ) - 16 ׃28 וייקץ יעקב משנתו ויאמר אכן יש יהוה במקום הזה ואנכי לא ידעתי (Ⅴ)

Pavensque, Quam terribilis est, inquit, locus iste ! non est hic aliud nisi domus Dei, et porta cæli.
- l eut peur, et dit: Que ce lieu est redoutable! C'est ici la maison de Dieu, c'est ici la porte des cieux! (Ⅱ) - And he was afraid, and said, How dreadful is this place! this is none other but the house of God, and this is the gate of heaven. (Ⅲ) - καὶ ἐφοβήθη καὶ εἰ̃πεν ὡς φοβερὸς ὁ τόπος οὑ̃τος οὐκ ἔστιν του̃το ἀλλ' ἢ οἰ̃κος θεου̃ καὶ αὕτη ἡ πύλη του̃ οὐρανου̃ (Ⅳ) - 17 ׃28 ויירא ויאמר מה נורא המקום הזה אין זה כי אם בית אלהים וזה שער השמים (Ⅴ)

Surgens ergo Jacob mane, tulit lapidem quem supposuerat capiti suo, et erexit in titulum, fundens oleum desuper.
- t Jacob se leva de bon matin; il prit la pierre dont il avait fait son chevet, il la dressa pour monument, et il versa de l'huile sur son sommet. (Ⅱ) - And Jacob rose up early in the morning, and took the stone that he had put for his pillows, and set it up for a pillar, and poured oil upon the top of it. (Ⅲ) - καὶ ἀνέστη Ιακωβ τὸ πρωὶ καὶ ἔλαβεν τὸν λίθον ὃν ὑπέθηκεν ἐκει̃ πρὸς κεφαλη̃ς αὐτου̃ καὶ ἔστησεν αὐτὸν στήλην καὶ ἐπέχεεν ἔλαιον ἐπὶ τὸ ἄκρον αὐτη̃ς (Ⅳ) - 18 ׃28 וישכם יעקב בבקר ויקח את האבן אשר שם מראשתיו וישם אתה מצבה ויצק שמן על ראשה (Ⅴ)

Appellavitque nomen urbis Bethel, quæ prius Luza vocabatur.
- l donna à ce lieu le nom de Béthel; mais la ville s'appelait auparavant Luz. (Ⅱ) - And he called the name of that place Bethel: but the name of that city was called Luz at the first. (Ⅲ) - καὶ ἐκάλεσεν Ιακωβ τὸ ὄνομα του̃ τόπου ἐκείνου Οἰ̃κος θεου̃ καὶ Ουλαμλους ἠ̃ν ὄνομα τη̨̃ πόλει τὸ πρότερον (Ⅳ) - 19 ׃28 ויקרא את שם המקום ההוא בית אל ואולם לוז שם העיר לראשנה (Ⅴ)

Vovit etiam votum, dicens : Si fuerit Deus mecum, et custodierit me in via, per quam ego ambulo, et dederit mihi panem ad vescendum, et vestimentum ad induendum,
- acob fit un voeu, en disant: Si Dieu est avec moi et me garde pendant ce voyage que je fais, s'il me donne du pain à manger et des habits pour me vêtir, (Ⅱ) - And Jacob vowed a vow, saying, If God will be with me, and will keep me in this way that I go, and will give me bread to eat, and raiment to put on, (Ⅲ) - καὶ ηὔξατο Ιακωβ εὐχὴν λέγων ἐὰν ἠ̨̃ κύριος ὁ θεὸς μετ' ἐμου̃ καὶ διαφυλάξη̨ με ἐν τη̨̃ ὁδω̨̃ ταύτη̨ ἡ̨̃ ἐγὼ πορεύομαι καὶ δω̨̃ μοι ἄρτον φαγει̃ν καὶ ἱμάτιον περιβαλέσθαι (Ⅳ) - 20 ׃28 וידר יעקב נדר לאמר אם יהיה אלהים עמדי ושמרני בדרך הזה אשר אנכי הולך ונתן לי לחם לאכל ובגד ללבש (Ⅴ)

reversusque fuero prospere ad domum patris mei : erit mihi Dominus in Deum,
- t si je retourne en paix à la maison de mon père, alors l'Éternel sera mon Dieu; (Ⅱ) - So that I come again to my father's house in peace; then shall the LORD be my God: (Ⅲ) - καὶ ἀποστρέψη̨ με μετὰ σωτηρίας εἰς τὸν οἰ̃κον του̃ πατρός μου καὶ ἔσται μοι κύριος εἰς θεόν (Ⅳ) - 21 ׃28 ושבתי בשלום אל בית אבי והיה יהוה לי לאלהים (Ⅴ)

et lapis iste, quem erexi in titulum, vocabitur Domus Dei : cunctorumque quæ dederis mihi, decimas offeram tibi.
- ette pierre, que j'ai dressée pour monument, sera la maison de Dieu; et je te donnerai la dîme de tout ce que tu me donneras. (Ⅱ) - And this stone, which I have set for a pillar, shall be God's house: and of all that thou shalt give me I will surely give the tenth unto thee. (Ⅲ) - καὶ ὁ λίθος οὑ̃τος ὃν ἔστησα στήλην ἔσται μοι οἰ̃κος θεου̃ καὶ πάντων ὡ̃ν ἐάν μοι δω̨̃ς δεκάτην ἀποδεκατώσω αὐτά σοι (Ⅳ) - 22 ׃28 והאבן הזאת אשר שמתי מצבה יהיה בית אלהים וכל אשר תתן לי עשר אעשרנו לך (Ⅴ)
