Quand mettrez-vous un terme à ces discours? Ayez de l'intelligence, puis nous parlerons.
- How long will it be ere ye make an end of words? mark, and afterwards we will speak. (Ⅱ) - μέχρι τίνος οὐ παύση̨ ἐπίσχες ἵνα καὶ αὐτοὶ λαλήσωμεν (Ⅲ) - Usque ad quem finem verba jactabitis ?/ intelligite prius, et sic loquamur./ (Ⅳ) - 2 ׃18 עד אנה תשימון קנצי למלין תבינו ואחר נדבר (Ⅴ)

Pourquoi sommes-nous regardés comme des bêtes? Pourquoi ne sommes-nous à vos yeux que des brutes?
- Wherefore are we counted as beasts, and reputed vile in your sight? (Ⅱ) - διὰ τί ὥσπερ τετράποδα σεσιωπήκαμεν ἐναντίον σου (Ⅲ) - Quare reputati sumus ut jumenta,/ et sorduimus coram vobis ?/ (Ⅳ) - 3 ׃18 מדוע נחשבנו כבהמה נטמינו בעיניכם (Ⅴ)

O toi qui te déchires dans ta fureur, Faut-il, à cause de toi, que la terre devienne déserte? Faut-il que les rochers disparaissent de leur place?
- He teareth himself in his anger: shall the earth be forsaken for thee? and shall the rock be removed out of his place? (Ⅱ) - κέχρηταί σοι ὀργή τί γάρ ἐὰν σὺ ἀποθάνη̨ς ἀοίκητος ἡ ὑπ' οὐρανόν ἢ καταστραφήσεται ὄρη ἐκ θεμελίων (Ⅲ) - Qui perdis animam tuam in furore tuo,/ numquid propter te derelinquetur terra,/ et transferentur rupes de loco suo ?/ (Ⅳ) - 4 ׃18 טרף נפשו באפו הלמענך תעזב ארץ ויעתק צור ממקמו (Ⅴ)

La lumière du méchant s'éteindra, Et la flamme qui en jaillit cessera de briller.
- Yea, the light of the wicked shall be put out, and the spark of his fire shall not shine. (Ⅱ) - καὶ φω̃ς ἀσεβω̃ν σβεσθήσεται καὶ οὐκ ἀποβήσεται αὐτω̃ν ἡ φλόξ (Ⅲ) - Nonne lux impii extinguetur,/ nec splendebit flamma ignis ejus ?/ (Ⅳ) - 5 ׃18 גם אור רשעים ידעך ולא יגה שביב אשו (Ⅴ)

La lumière s'obscurcira sous sa tente, Et sa lampe au-dessus de lui s'éteindra.
- The light shall be dark in his tabernacle, and his candle shall be put out with him. (Ⅱ) - τὸ φω̃ς αὐτου̃ σκότος ἐν διαίτη̨ ὁ δὲ λύχνος ἐπ' αὐτω̨̃ σβεσθήσεται (Ⅲ) - Lux obtenebrescet in tabernaculo illius,/ et lucerna quæ super eum est extinguetur./ (Ⅳ) - 6 ׃18 אור[c] חשך באהלו ונרו עליו ידעך (Ⅴ)

Ses pas assurés seront à l'étroit; Malgré ses efforts, il tombera.
- The steps of his strength shall be straitened, and his own counsel shall cast him down. (Ⅱ) - θηρεύσαισαν ἐλάχιστοι τὰ ὑπάρχοντα αὐτου̃ σφάλαι δὲ αὐτου̃ ἡ βουλή (Ⅲ) - Arctabuntur gressus virtutis ejus,/ et præcipitabit eum consilium suum./ (Ⅳ) - 7 ׃18 יצרו צעדי אונו ותשליכהו עצתו (Ⅴ)

Car il met les pieds sur un filet, Il marche dans les mailles,
- For he is cast into a net by his own feet, and he walketh upon a snare. (Ⅱ) - ἐμβέβληται δὲ ὁ ποὺς αὐτου̃ ἐν παγίδι ἐν δικτύω̨ ἑλιχθείη (Ⅲ) - Immisit enim in rete pedes suos,/ et in maculis ejus ambulat./ (Ⅳ) - 8 ׃18 כי שלח ברשת ברגליו ועל שבכה יתהלך (Ⅴ)

Il est saisi au piège par le talon, Et le filet s'empare de lui;
- The gin shall take him by the heel, and the robber shall prevail against him. (Ⅱ) - ἔλθοισαν δὲ ἐπ' αὐτὸν παγίδες κατισχύσει ἐπ' αὐτὸν διψω̃ντας (Ⅲ) - Tenebitur planta illius laqueo,/ et exardescet contra eum sitis./ (Ⅳ) - 9 ׃18 יאחז בעקב פח יחזק עליו צמים (Ⅴ)

Le cordeau est caché dans la terre, Et la trappe est sur son sentier.
- The snare is laid for him in the ground, and a trap for him in the way. (Ⅱ) - κέκρυπται ἐν τη̨̃ γη̨̃ σχοινίον αὐτου̃ καὶ ἡ σύλλημψις αὐτου̃ ἐπὶ τρίβων (Ⅲ) - Abscondita est in terra pedica ejus,/ et decipula illius super semitam./ (Ⅳ) - 10 ׃18 טמון בארץ חבלו ומלכדתו עלי נתיב (Ⅴ)

Des terreurs l'assiègent, l'entourent, Le poursuivent par derrière.
- Terrors shall make him afraid on every side, and shall drive him to his feet. (Ⅱ) - κύκλω̨ ὀλέσαισαν αὐτὸν ὀδύναι πολλοὶ δὲ περὶ πόδας αὐτου̃ ἔλθοισαν ἐν λιμω̨̃ στενω̨̃ (Ⅲ) - Undique terrebunt eum formidines,/ et involvent pedes ejus./ (Ⅳ) - 11 ׃18 סביב בעתהו בלהות והפיצהו לרגליו (Ⅴ)

La faim consume ses forces, La misère est à ses côtés.
- His strength shall be hungerbitten, and destruction shall be ready at his side. (Ⅱ) - πτω̃μα δὲ αὐτω̨̃ ἡτοίμασται ἐξαίσιον (Ⅲ) - Attenuetur fame robur ejus,/ et inedia invadat costas illius./ (Ⅳ) - 12 ׃18 יהי רעב אנו ואיד נכון לצלעו (Ⅴ)

Les parties de sa peau sont l'une après l'autre dévorées, Ses membres sont dévorés par le premier-né de la mort.
- It shall devour the strength of his skin: even the firstborn of death shall devour his strength. (Ⅱ) - βρωθείησαν αὐτου̃ κλω̃νες ποδω̃ν κατέδεται δὲ τὰ ὡραι̃α αὐτου̃ θάνατος (Ⅲ) - Devoret pulchritudinem cutis ejus ;/ consumat brachia illius primogenita mors./ (Ⅳ) - 13 ׃18 יאכל בדי עורו יאכל בדיו בכור מות (Ⅴ)

Il est arraché de sa tente où il se croyait en sûreté, Il se traîne vers le roi des épouvantements.
- His confidence shall be rooted out of his tabernacle, and it shall bring him to the king of terrors. (Ⅱ) - ἐκραγείη δὲ ἐκ διαίτης αὐτου̃ ἴασις σχοίη δὲ αὐτὸν ἀνάγκη αἰτία̨ βασιλικη̨̃ (Ⅲ) - Avellatur de tabernaculo suo fiducia ejus,/ et calcet super eum, quasi rex, interitus./ (Ⅳ) - 14 ׃18 ינתק מאהלו מבטחו ותצעדהו למלך בלהות (Ⅴ)

Nul des siens n'habite sa tente, Le soufre est répandu sur sa demeure.
- It shall dwell in his tabernacle, because it is none of his: brimstone shall be scattered upon his habitation. (Ⅱ) - κατασκηνώσει ἐν τη̨̃ σκηνη̨̃ αὐτου̃ ἐν νυκτὶ αὐτου̃ κατασπαρήσονται τὰ εὐπρεπη̃ αὐτου̃ θείω̨ (Ⅲ) - Habitent in tabernaculo illius socii ejus qui non est ;/ aspergatur in tabernaculo ejus sulphur./ (Ⅳ) - 15 ׃18 תשכון באהלו מבלי לו יזרה על נוהו גפרית (Ⅴ)

En bas, ses racines se dessèchent; En haut, ses branches sont coupées.
- His roots shall be dried up beneath, and above shall his branch be cut off. (Ⅱ) - ὑποκάτωθεν αἱ ῥίζαι αὐτου̃ ξηρανθήσονται καὶ ἐπάνωθεν ἐπιπεσει̃ται θερισμὸς αὐτου̃ (Ⅲ) - Deorsum radices ejus siccentur :/ sursum autem atteratur messis ejus./ (Ⅳ) - 16 ׃18 מתחת שרשיו יבשו וממעל ימל קצירו (Ⅴ)

Sa mémoire disparaît de la terre, Son nom n'est plus sur la face des champs.
- His remembrance shall perish from the earth, and he shall have no name in the street. (Ⅱ) - τὸ μνημόσυνον αὐτου̃ ἀπόλοιτο ἐκ γη̃ς καὶ ὑπάρχει ὄνομα αὐτω̨̃ ἐπὶ πρόσωπον ἐξωτέρω (Ⅲ) - Memoria illius pereat de terra,/ et non celebretur nomen ejus in plateis./ (Ⅳ) - 17 ׃18 זכרו אבד מני ארץ ולא שם לו על פני חוץ (Ⅴ)

Il est poussé de la lumière dans les ténèbres, Il est chassé du monde.
- He shall be driven from light into darkness, and chased out of the world. (Ⅱ) - ἀπώσειεν αὐτὸν ἐκ φωτὸς εἰς σκότος (Ⅲ) - Expellet eum de luce in tenebras,/ et de orbe transferet eum./ (Ⅳ) - 18 ׃18 יהדפהו מאור אל חשך ומתבל ינדהו (Ⅴ)

Il ne laisse ni descendants ni postérité parmi son peuple, Ni survivant dans les lieux qu'il habitait.
- He shall neither have son nor nephew among his people, nor any remaining in his dwellings. (Ⅱ) - οὐκ ἔσται ἐπίγνωστος ἐν λαω̨̃ αὐτου̃ οὐδὲ σεσω̨σμένος ἐν τη̨̃ ὑπ' οὐρανὸν ὁ οἰ̃κος αὐτου̃ ἀλλ' ἐν τοι̃ς αὐτου̃ ζήσονται ἕτεροι (Ⅲ) - Non erit semen ejus, neque progenies in populo suo,/ nec ullæ reliquiæ in regionibus ejus./ (Ⅳ) - 19 ׃18 לא נין לו ולא נכד בעמו ואין שריד במגוריו (Ⅴ)

Les générations à venir seront étonnées de sa ruine, Et la génération présente sera saisie d'effroi.
- They that come after him shall be astonied at his day, as they that went before were affrighted. (Ⅱ) - ἐπ' αὐτω̨̃ ἐστέναξαν ἔσχατοι πρώτους δὲ ἔσχεν θαυ̃μα (Ⅲ) - In die ejus stupebunt novissimi,/ et primos invadet horror./ (Ⅳ) - 20 ׃18 על יומו נשמו אחרנים וקדמנים אחזו שער (Ⅴ)

Point d'autre destinée pour le méchant, Point d'autre sort pour qui ne connaît pas Dieu!
- Surely such are the dwellings of the wicked, and this is the place of him that knoweth not God. (Ⅱ) - οὑ̃τοί εἰσιν οἰ̃κοι ἀδίκων οὑ̃τος δὲ ὁ τόπος τω̃ν μὴ εἰδότων τὸν κύριον (Ⅲ) - Hæc sunt ergo tabernacula iniqui,/ et iste locus ejus qui ignorat Deum.] (Ⅳ) - 21 ׃18 אך אלה משכנות עול וזה מקום לא ידע אל ס (Ⅴ)
