2. 1

And Joshua the son of Nun sent out of Shittim two men to spy secretly, saying, Go view the land, even Jericho. And they went, and came into an harlot's house, named Rahab, and lodged there.

- Josué, fils de Nun, fit partir secrètement de Sittim deux espions, en leur disant: Allez, examinez le pays, et en particulier Jéricho. Ils partirent, et ils arrivèrent dans la maison d'une prostituée, qui se nommait Rahab, et ils y couchèrent. (Ⅱ)

- καὶ ἀπέστειλεν 'Ιησου̃ς υἱὸς Ναυη ἐκ Σαττιν δύο νεανίσκους κατασκοπευ̃σαι λέγων ἀνάβητε καὶ ἴδετε τὴν γη̃ν καὶ τὴν Ιεριχω καὶ πορευθέντες εἰσήλθοσαν οἱ δύο νεανίσκοι εἰς Ιεριχω καὶ εἰσήλθοσαν εἰς οἰκίαν γυναικὸς πόρνης ἡ̨̃ ὄνομα Ρααβ καὶ κατέλυσαν ἐκει̃ (Ⅲ)

- Misit igitur Josue filius Nun de Setim duos viros exploratores in abscondito : et dixit eis : Ite, et considerate terram, urbemque Jericho. Qui pergentes ingressi sunt domum mulieris meretricis, nomine Rahab, et quieverunt apud eam. (Ⅳ)

- ‫ 1 ׃2 וישלח יהושע בן נון מן השטים שנים אנשים מרגלים חרש לאמר לכו ראו את הארץ ואת יריחו וילכו ויבאו בית אשה זונה ושמה רחב וישכבו שמה ‬ (Ⅴ)

And it was told the king of Jericho, saying, Behold, there came men in hither to night of the children of Israel to search out the country.

- On dit au roi de Jéricho: Voici, des hommes d'entre les enfants d'Israël sont arrivés ici, cette nuit, pour explorer le pays. (Ⅱ)

- καὶ ἀπηγγέλη τω̨̃ βασιλει̃ Ιεριχω λέγοντες εἰσπεπόρευνται ὡ̃δε ἄνδρες τω̃ν υἱω̃ν Ισραηλ κατασκοπευ̃σαι τὴν γη̃ν (Ⅲ)

- Nuntiatumque est regi Jericho, et dictum : Ecce viri ingressi sunt huc per noctem de filiis Israël, ut explorarent terram. (Ⅳ)

- ‫ 2 ׃2 ויאמר למלך יריחו לאמר הנה אנשים באו הנה הלילה מבני ישראל לחפר את הארץ ‬ (Ⅴ)

And the king of Jericho sent unto Rahab, saying, Bring forth the men that are come to thee, which are entered into thine house: for they be come to search out all the country.

- Le roi de Jéricho envoya dire à Rahab: Fais sortir les hommes qui sont venus chez toi, qui sont entrés dans ta maison; car c'est pour explorer tout le pays qu'ils sont venus. (Ⅱ)

- καὶ ἀπέστειλεν ὁ βασιλεὺς Ιεριχω καὶ εἰ̃πεν πρὸς Ρααβ λέγων ἐξάγαγε τοὺς ἄνδρας τοὺς εἰσπεπορευμένους εἰς τὴν οἰκίαν σου τὴν νύκτα κατασκοπευ̃σαι γὰρ τὴν γη̃ν ἥκασιν (Ⅲ)

- Misitque rex Jericho ad Rahab, dicens : Educ viros, qui venerunt ad te, et ingressi sunt domum tuam : exploratores quippe sunt, et omnem terram considerare venerunt. (Ⅳ)

- ‫ 3 ׃2 וישלח מלך יריחו אל רחב לאמר הוציאי האנשים הבאים אליך אשר באו לביתך כי לחפר את כל הארץ באו ‬ (Ⅴ)

And the woman took the two men, and hid them, and said thus, There came men unto me, but I wist not whence they were:

- La femme prit les deux hommes, et les cacha; et elle dit: Il est vrai que ces hommes sont arrivés chez moi, mais je ne savais pas d'où ils étaient; (Ⅱ)

- καὶ λαβου̃σα ἡ γυνὴ τοὺς ἄνδρας ἔκρυψεν αὐτοὺς καὶ εἰ̃πεν αὐτοι̃ς λέγουσα εἰσεληλύθασιν πρός με οἱ ἄνδρες (Ⅲ)

- Tollensque mulier viros, abscondit, et ait : Fateor, venerunt ad me, sed nesciebam unde essent : (Ⅳ)

- ‫ 4 ׃2 ותקח האשה את שני האנשים ותצפנו ותאמר כן באו אלי האנשים ולא ידעתי מאין המה ‬ (Ⅴ)

2. 5

And it came to pass about the time of shutting of the gate, when it was dark, that the men went out: whither the men went I wot not: pursue after them quickly; for ye shall overtake them.

- et, comme la porte a dû se fermer de nuit, ces hommes sont sortis; j'ignore où ils sont allés: hâtez-vous de les poursuivre et vous les atteindrez. (Ⅱ)

- ὡς δὲ ἡ πύλη ἐκλείετο ἐν τω̨̃ σκότει καὶ οἱ ἄνδρες ἐξη̃λθον οὐκ ἐπίσταμαι που̃ πεπόρευνται καταδιώξατε ὀπίσω αὐτω̃ν εἰ καταλήμψεσθε αὐτούς (Ⅲ)

- cumque porta clauderetur in tenebris, et illi pariter exierunt ; nescio quo abierunt : persequimini cito, et comprehendetis eos. (Ⅳ)

- ‫ 5 ׃2 ויהי השער לסגור בחשך והאנשים יצאו לא ידעתי אנה הלכו האנשים רדפו מהר אחריהם כי תשיגום ‬ (Ⅴ)

But she had brought them up to the roof of the house, and hid them with the stalks of flax, which she had laid in order upon the roof.

- Elle les avait fait monter sur le toit, et les avait cachés sous des tiges de lin, qu'elle avait arrangées sur le toit. (Ⅱ)

- αὐτὴ δὲ ἀνεβίβασεν αὐτοὺς ἐπὶ τὸ δω̃μα καὶ ἔκρυψεν αὐτοὺς ἐν τη̨̃ λινοκαλάμη̨ τη̨̃ ἐστοιβασμένη̨ αὐτη̨̃ ἐπὶ του̃ δώματος (Ⅲ)

- Ipsa autem fecit ascendere viros in solarium domus suæ, operuitque eos stipula lini, quæ ibi erat. (Ⅳ)

- ‫ 6 ׃2 והיא העלתם הגגה ותטמנם בפשתי העץ הערכות לה על הגג ‬ (Ⅴ)

And the men pursued after them the way to Jordan unto the fords: and as soon as they which pursued after them were gone out, they shut the gate.

- Ces gens les poursuivirent par le chemin qui mène au gué du Jourdain, et l'on ferma la porte après qu'ils furent sortis. (Ⅱ)

- καὶ οἱ ἄνδρες κατεδίωξαν ὀπίσω αὐτω̃ν ὁδὸν τὴν ἐπὶ του̃ Ιορδάνου ἐπὶ τὰς διαβάσεις καὶ ἡ πύλη ἐκλείσθη καὶ ἐγένετο ὡς ἐξήλθοσαν οἱ διώκοντες ὀπίσω αὐτω̃ν (Ⅲ)

- Hi autem, qui missi fuerant, secuti sunt eos per viam, quæ ducit ad vadum Jordanis : illisque egressis statim porta clausa est.\ (Ⅳ)

- ‫ 7 ׃2 והאנשים רדפו אחריהם דרך הירדן על המעברות והשער סגרו אחרי כאשר יצאו הרדפים אחריהם ‬ (Ⅴ)

And before they were laid down, she came up unto them upon the roof;

- Avant que les espions se couchassent, Rahab monta vers eux sur le toit (Ⅱ)

- καὶ αὐτοὶ δὲ πρὶν ἢ κοιμηθη̃ναι αὐτούς καὶ αὐτὴ ἀνέβη ἐπὶ τὸ δω̃μα πρὸς αὐτοὺς (Ⅲ)

- Necdum obdormierant qui latebant, et ecce mulier ascendit ad eos, et ait : (Ⅳ)

- ‫ 8 ׃2 והמה טרם ישכבון והיא עלתה עליהם על הגג ‬ (Ⅴ)

2. 9

And she said unto the men, I know that the LORD hath given you the land, and that your terror is fallen upon us, and that all the inhabitants of the land faint because of you.

- et leur dit: L'Éternel, je le sais, vous a donné ce pays, la terreur que vous inspirez nous a saisis, et tous les habitants du pays tremblent devant vous. (Ⅱ)

- καὶ εἰ̃πεν πρὸς αὐτούς ἐπίσταμαι ὅτι δέδωκεν ὑμι̃ν κύριος τὴν γη̃ν ἐπιπέπτωκεν γὰρ ὁ φόβος ὑμω̃ν ἐφ' ἡμα̃ς (Ⅲ)

- Novi quod Dominus tradiderit vobis terram : etenim irruit in nos terror vester, et elanguerunt omnes habitatores terræ. (Ⅳ)

- ‫ 9 ׃2 ותאמר אל האנשים ידעתי כי נתן יהוה לכם את הארץ וכי נפלה אימתכם עלינו וכי נמגו כל ישבי הארץ מפניכם ‬ (Ⅴ)

2. 10

For we have heard how the LORD dried up the water of the Red sea for you, when ye came out of Egypt; and what ye did unto the two kings of the Amorites, that were on the other side Jordan, Sihon and Og, whom ye utterly destroyed.

- Car nous avons appris comment, à votre sortie d'Égypte, l'Éternel a mis à sec devant vous les eaux de la mer Rouge, et comment vous avez traité les deux rois des Amoréens au delà du Jourdain, Sihon et Og, que vous avez dévoués par interdit. (Ⅱ)

- ἀκηκόαμεν γὰρ ὅτι κατεξήρανεν κύριος ὁ θεὸς τὴν ἐρυθρὰν θάλασσαν ἀπὸ προσώπου ὑμω̃ν ὅτε ἐξεπορεύεσθε ἐκ γη̃ς Αἰγύπτου καὶ ὅσα ἐποίησεν τοι̃ς δυσὶ βασιλευ̃σιν τω̃ν Αμορραίων οἳ ἠ̃σαν πέραν του̃ Ιορδάνου τω̨̃ Σηων καὶ Ωγ οὓς ἐξωλεθρεύσατε αὐτούς (Ⅲ)

- Audivimus quod siccaverit Dominus aquas maris Rubri ad vestrum introitum, quando egressi estis ex Ægypto : et quæ feceritis duobus Amorrhæorum regibus, qui erant trans Jordanem, Sehon et Og, quos interfecistis. (Ⅳ)

- ‫ 10 ׃2 כי שמענו את אשר הוביש יהוה את מי ים סוף מפניכם בצאתכם ממצרים ואשר עשיתם לשני מלכי האמרי אשר בעבר הירדן לסיחן ולעוג אשר החרמתם אותם ‬ (Ⅴ)

2. 11

And as soon as we had heard these things, our hearts did melt, neither did there remain any more courage in any man, because of you: for the LORD your God, he is God in heaven above, and in earth beneath.

- Nous l'avons appris, et nous avons perdu courage, et tous nos esprits sont abattus à votre aspect; car c'est l'Éternel, votre Dieu, qui est Dieu en haut dans les cieux et en bas sur la terre. (Ⅱ)

- καὶ ἀκούσαντες ἡμει̃ς ἐξέστημεν τη̨̃ καρδία̨ ἡμω̃ν καὶ οὐκ ἔστη ἔτι πνευ̃μα ἐν οὐδενὶ ἡμω̃ν ἀπὸ προσώπου ὑμω̃ν ὅτι κύριος ὁ θεὸς ὑμω̃ν θεὸς ἐν οὐρανω̨̃ ἄνω καὶ ἐπὶ τη̃ς γη̃ς κάτω (Ⅲ)

- Et hæc audientes pertimuimus, et elanguit cor nostrum, nec remansit in nobis spiritus ad introitum vestrum : Dominus enim Deus vester ipse est Deus in cælo sursum et in terra deorsum. (Ⅳ)

- ‫ 11 ׃2 ונשמע וימס לבבנו ולא קמה עוד רוח באיש מפניכם כי יהוה אלהיכם הוא אלהים בשמים ממעל ועל הארץ מתחת ‬ (Ⅴ)

2. 12

Now therefore, I pray you, swear unto me by the LORD, since I have showed you kindness, that ye will also show kindness unto my father's house, and give me a true token:

- Et maintenant, je vous prie, jurez-moi par l'Éternel que vous aurez pour la maison de mon père la même bonté que j'ai eue pour vous. (Ⅱ)

- καὶ νυ̃ν ὀμόσατέ μοι κύριον τὸν θεόν ὅτι ποιω̃ ὑμι̃ν ἔλεος καὶ ποιήσετε καὶ ὑμει̃ς ἔλεος ἐν τω̨̃ οἴκω̨ του̃ πατρός μου (Ⅲ)

- Nunc ergo jurate mihi per Dominum, ut quomodo ego misericordiam feci vobiscum, ita et vos faciatis cum domo patris mei : detisque mihi verum signum, (Ⅳ)

- ‫ 12 ׃2 ועתה השבעו נא לי ביהוה כי עשיתי עמכם חסד ועשיתם גם אתם עם בית אבי חסד ונתתם לי אות אמת ‬ (Ⅴ)

2. 13

And that ye will save alive my father, and my mother, and my brethren, and my sisters, and all that they have, and deliver our lives from death.

- Donnez-moi l'assurance que vous laisserez vivre mon père, ma mère, mes frères, mes soeurs, et tous ceux qui leur appartiennent, et que vous nous sauverez de la mort. (Ⅱ)

- καὶ ζωγρήσετε τὸν οἰ̃κον του̃ πατρός μου καὶ τὴν μητέρα μου καὶ τοὺς ἀδελφούς μου καὶ πάντα τὸν οἰ̃κόν μου καὶ πάντα ὅσα ἐστὶν αὐτοι̃ς καὶ ἐξελει̃σθε τὴν ψυχήν μου ἐκ θανάτου (Ⅲ)

- ut salvetis patrem meum et matrem, et fratres ac sorores meas, et omnia quæ illorum sunt, et eruatis animas nostras a morte. (Ⅳ)

- ‫ 13 ׃2 והחיתם את אבי ואת אמי ואת אחי ואת *אחותי **אחיותי ואת כל אשר להם והצלתם את נפשתינו ממות ‬ (Ⅴ)

2. 14

And the men answered her, Our life for yours, if ye utter not this our business. And it shall be, when the LORD hath given us the land, that we will deal kindly and truly with thee.

- Ces hommes lui répondirent: Nous sommes prêts à mourir pour vous, si vous ne divulguez pas ce qui nous concerne; et quand l'Éternel nous donnera le pays, nous agirons envers toi avec bonté et fidélité. (Ⅱ)

- καὶ εἰ̃παν αὐτη̨̃ οἱ ἄνδρες ἡ ψυχὴ ἡμω̃ν ἀνθ' ὑμω̃ν εἰς θάνατον καὶ αὐτὴ εἰ̃πεν ὡς ἂν παραδω̨̃ κύριος ὑμι̃ν τὴν πόλιν ποιήσετε εἰς ἐμὲ ἔλεος καὶ ἀλήθειαν (Ⅲ)

- Qui responderunt ei : Anima nostra sit pro vobis in mortem, si tamen non prodideris nos : cumque tradiderit nobis Dominus terram, faciemus in te misericordiam et veritatem. (Ⅳ)

- ‫ 14 ׃2 ויאמרו לה האנשים נפשנו תחתיכם למות אם לא תגידו את דברנו זה והיה בתת יהוה לנו את הארץ ועשינו עמך חסד ואמת ‬ (Ⅴ)

Then she let them down by a cord through the window: for her house was upon the town wall, and she dwelt upon the wall.

- Elle les fit descendre avec une corde par la fenêtre, car la maison qu'elle habitait était sur la muraille de la ville. (Ⅱ)

- καὶ κατεχάλασεν αὐτοὺς διὰ τη̃ς θυρίδος (Ⅲ)

- Demisit ergo eos per funem de fenestra : domus enim ejus hærebat muro. (Ⅳ)

- ‫ 15 ׃2 ותורדם בחבל בעד החלון כי ביתה בקיר החומה ובחומה היא יושבת ‬ (Ⅴ)

2. 16

And she said unto them, Get you to the mountain, lest the pursuers meet you; and hide yourselves there three days, until the pursuers be returned: and afterward may ye go your way.

- Elle leur dit: Allez du côté de la montagne, de peur que ceux qui vous poursuivent ne vous rencontrent; cachez-vous là pendant trois jours, jusqu'à ce qu'ils soient de retour; après cela, vous suivrez votre chemin. (Ⅱ)

- καὶ εἰ̃πεν αὐτοι̃ς εἰς τὴν ὀρεινὴν ἀπέλθετε μὴ συναντήσωσιν ὑμι̃ν οἱ καταδιώκοντες καὶ κρυβήσεσθε ἐκει̃ τρει̃ς ἡμέρας ἕως ἂν ἀποστρέψωσιν οἱ καταδιώκοντες ὀπίσω ὑμω̃ν καὶ μετὰ ταυ̃τα ἀπελεύσεσθε εἰς τὴν ὁδὸν ὑμω̃ν (Ⅲ)

- Dixitque ad eos : Ad montana conscendite, ne forte occurrant vobis revertentes : ibique latitate tribus diebus, donec redeant, et sic ibitis per viam vestram. (Ⅳ)

- ‫ 16 ׃2 ותאמר להם ההרה לכו פן יפגעו בכם הרדפים ונחבתם שמה שלשת ימים עד שוב הרדפים ואחר תלכו לדרככם ‬ (Ⅴ)

2. 17

And the men said unto her, We will be blameless of this thine oath which thou hast made us swear.

- Ces hommes lui dirent: Voici de quelle manière nous serons quittes du serment que tu nous as fait faire. (Ⅱ)

- καὶ εἰ̃παν οἱ ἄνδρες πρὸς αὐτήν ἀθω̨̃οί ἐσμεν τω̨̃ ὅρκω̨ σου τούτω̨ (Ⅲ)

- Qui dixerunt ad eam : Innoxii erimus a juramento hoc, quo adjurasti nos : (Ⅳ)

- ‫ 17 ׃2 ויאמרו אליה האנשים נקים אנחנו משבעתך הזה אשר השבעתנו ‬ (Ⅴ)

2. 18

Behold, when we come into the land, thou shalt bind this line of scarlet thread in the window which thou didst let us down by: and thou shalt bring thy father, and thy mother, and thy brethren, and all thy father's household, home unto thee.

- A notre entrée dans le pays, attache ce cordon de fil cramoisi à la fenêtre par laquelle tu nous fais descendre, et recueille auprès de toi dans la maison ton père, ta mère, tes frères, et toute la famille de ton père. (Ⅱ)

- ἰδοὺ ἡμει̃ς εἰσπορευόμεθα εἰς μέρος τη̃ς πόλεως καὶ θήσεις τὸ σημει̃ον τὸ σπαρτίον τὸ κόκκινον του̃το ἐκδήσεις εἰς τὴν θυρίδα δι' ἡ̃ς κατεβίβασας ἡμα̃ς δι' αὐτη̃ς τὸν δὲ πατέρα σου καὶ τὴν μητέρα σου καὶ τοὺς ἀδελφούς σου καὶ πάντα τὸν οἰ̃κον του̃ πατρός σου συνάξεις πρὸς σεαυτὴν εἰς τὴν οἰκίαν σου (Ⅲ)

- si ingredientibus nobis terram, signum fuerit funiculus iste coccineus, et ligaveris eum in fenestra, per quam demisisti nos : et patrem tuum ac matrem, fratresque et omnem cognationem tuam congregaveris in domum tuam. (Ⅳ)

- ‫ 18 ׃2 הנה אנחנו באים בארץ את תקות חוט השני הזה תקשרי בחלון אשר הורדתנו בו ואת אביך ואת אמך ואת אחיך ואת כל בית אביך תאספי אליך הביתה ‬ (Ⅴ)

2. 19

And it shall be, that whosoever shall go out of the doors of thy house into the street, his blood shall be upon his head, and we will be guiltless: and whosoever shall be with thee in the house, his blood shall be on our head, if any hand be upon him.

- Si quelqu'un d'eux sort de la porte de ta maison pour aller dehors, son sang retombera sur sa tête, et nous en serons innocent; mais si on met la main sur l'un quelconque de ceux qui seront avec toi dans la maison, son sang retombera sur notre tête. (Ⅱ)

- καὶ ἔσται πα̃ς ὃς ἂν ἐξέλθη̨ τὴν θύραν τη̃ς οἰκίας σου ἔξω ἔνοχος ἑαυτω̨̃ ἔσται ἡμει̃ς δὲ ἀθω̨̃οι τω̨̃ ὅρκω̨ σου τούτω̨ καὶ ὅσοι ἐὰν γένωνται μετὰ σου̃ ἐν τη̨̃ οἰκία̨ σου ἡμει̃ς ἔνοχοι ἐσόμεθα (Ⅲ)

- Qui ostium domus tuæ egressus fuerit, sanguis ipsius erit in caput ejus, et nos erimus alieni. Cunctorum autem sanguis, qui tecum in domo fuerint, redundabit in caput nostrum, si eos aliquis tetigerit. (Ⅳ)

- ‫ 19 ׃2 והיה כל אשר יצא מדלתי ביתך החוצה דמו בראשו ואנחנו נקים וכל אשר יהיה אתך בבית דמו בראשנו אם יד תהיה בו ‬ (Ⅴ)

2. 20

And if thou utter this our business, then we will be quit of thine oath which thou hast made us to swear.

- Et si tu divulgues ce qui nous concerne, nous serons quittes du serment que tu nous as fait faire. (Ⅱ)

- ἐὰν δέ τις ἡμα̃ς ἀδικήση̨ ἢ καὶ ἀποκαλύψη̨ τοὺς λόγους ἡμω̃ν τούτους ἐσόμεθα ἀθω̨̃οι τω̨̃ ὅρκω̨ σου τούτω̨ (Ⅲ)

- Quod si nos prodere volueris, et sermonem istum proferre in medium, erimus mundi ab hoc juramento, quo adjurasti nos. (Ⅳ)

- ‫ 20 ׃2 ואם תגידי את דברנו זה והיינו נקים משבעתך אשר השבעתנו ‬ (Ⅴ)

And she said, According unto your words, so be it. And she sent them away, and they departed: and she bound the scarlet line in the window.

- Elle répondit: Qu'il en soit selon vos paroles. Elle prit ainsi congé d'eux, et ils s'en allèrent. Et elle attacha le cordon de cramoisi à la fenêtre. (Ⅱ)

- καὶ εἰ̃πεν αὐτοι̃ς κατὰ τὸ ῥη̃μα ὑμω̃ν οὕτως ἔστω καὶ ἐξαπέστειλεν αὐτούς (Ⅲ)

- Et illa respondit : Sicut locuti estis, ita fiat : dimittensque eos ut pergerent, appendit funiculum coccineum in fenestra.\ (Ⅳ)

- ‫ 21 ׃2 ותאמר כדבריכם כן הוא ותשלחם וילכו ותקשר את תקות השני בחלון ‬ (Ⅴ)

2. 22

And they went, and came unto the mountain, and abode there three days, until the pursuers were returned: and the pursuers sought them throughout all the way, but found them not.

- Ils partirent, et arrivèrent à la montagne, où ils restèrent trois jours, jusqu'à ce que ceux qui les poursuivaient fussent de retour. Ceux qui les poursuivaient les cherchèrent par tout le chemin, mais ils ne les trouvèrent pas. (Ⅱ)

- καὶ ἐπορεύθησαν καὶ ἤλθοσαν εἰς τὴν ὀρεινὴν καὶ κατέμειναν ἐκει̃ τρει̃ς ἡμέρας καὶ ἐξεζήτησαν οἱ καταδιώκοντες πάσας τὰς ὁδοὺς καὶ οὐχ εὕροσαν (Ⅲ)

- Illi vero ambulantes pervenerunt ad montana, et manserunt ibi tres dies, donec reverterentur qui fuerant persecuti : quærentes enim per omnem viam, non repererunt eos. (Ⅳ)

- ‫ 22 ׃2 וילכו ויבאו ההרה וישבו שם שלשת ימים עד שבו הרדפים ויבקשו הרדפים בכל הדרך ולא מצאו ‬ (Ⅴ)

2. 23

So the two men returned, and descended from the mountain, and passed over, and came to Joshua the son of Nun, and told him all things that befell them:

- Les deux hommes s'en retournèrent, descendirent de la montagne, et passèrent le Jourdain. Ils vinrent auprès de Josué, fils de Nun, et lui racontèrent tout ce qui leur était arrivé. (Ⅱ)

- καὶ ὑπέστρεψαν οἱ δύο νεανίσκοι καὶ κατέβησαν ἐκ του̃ ὄρους καὶ διέβησαν πρὸς 'Ιησου̃ν υἱὸν Ναυη καὶ διηγήσαντο αὐτω̨̃ πάντα τὰ συμβεβηκότα αὐτοι̃ς (Ⅲ)

- Quibus urbem ingressis, reversi sunt, et descenderunt exploratores de monte : et, transmisso Jordane, venerunt ad Josue filium Nun, narraveruntque ei omnia quæ acciderant sibi, (Ⅳ)

- ‫ 23 ׃2 וישבו שני האנשים וירדו מההר ויעברו ויבאו אל יהושע בן נון ויספרו לו את כל המצאות אותם ‬ (Ⅴ)

2. 24

And they said unto Joshua, Truly the LORD hath delivered into our hands all the land; for even all the inhabitants of the country do faint because of us.

- Ils dirent à Josué: Certainement, l'Éternel a livré tout le pays entre nos mains, et même tous les habitants du pays tremblent devant nous. (Ⅱ)

- καὶ εἰ̃παν πρὸς 'Ιησου̃ν ὅτι παρέδωκεν κύριος πα̃σαν τὴν γη̃ν ἐν χειρὶ ἡμω̃ν καὶ κατέπτηκεν πα̃ς ὁ κατοικω̃ν τὴν γη̃ν ἐκείνην ἀφ' ἡμω̃ν (Ⅲ)

- atque dixerunt : Tradidit Dominus omnem terram hanc in manus nostras, et timore prostrati sunt cuncti habitatores ejus. (Ⅳ)

- ‫ 24 ׃2 ויאמרו אל יהושע כי נתן יהוה בידנו את כל הארץ וגם נמגו כל ישבי הארץ מפנינו ס‬ (Ⅴ)
