11. 1

But king Solomon loved many strange women, together with the daughter of Pharaoh, women of the Moabites, Ammonites, Edomites, Zidonians, and Hittites:

- Le roi Salomon aima beaucoup de femmes étrangères, outre la fille de Pharaon: des Moabites, des Ammonites, des Édomites, des Sidoniennes, des Héthiennes, (Ⅱ)

- καὶ ὁ βασιλεὺς Σαλωμων ἠ̃ν φιλογύναιος καὶ ἠ̃σαν αὐτω̨̃ ἄρχουσαι ἑπτακόσιαι καὶ παλλακαὶ τριακόσιαι καὶ ἔλαβεν γυναι̃κας ἀλλοτρίας καὶ τὴν θυγατέρα Φαραω Μωαβίτιδας Αμμανίτιδας Σύρας καὶ Ιδουμαίας Χετταίας καὶ Αμορραίας (Ⅲ)

- Rex autem Salomon adamavit mulieres alienigenas multas, filiam quoque Pharaonis, et Moabitidas, et Ammonitidas, Idumæas, et Sidonias, et Hethæas : (Ⅳ)

- ‫ 1 ׃11 והמלך שלמה אהב נשים נכריות רבות ואת בת פרעה מואביות עמניות אדמית צדנית חתית ‬ (Ⅴ)

11. 2

Of the nations concerning which the LORD said unto the children of Israel, Ye shall not go in to them, neither shall they come in unto you: for surely they will turn away your heart after their gods: Solomon clave unto these in love.

- appartenant aux nations dont l'Éternel avait dit aux enfants d'Israël: Vous n'irez point chez elles, et elles ne viendront point chez vous; elles tourneraient certainement vos coeurs du côté de leurs dieux. Ce fut à ces nations que s'attacha Salomon, entraîné par l'amour. (Ⅱ)

- ἐκ τω̃ν ἐθνω̃ν ὡ̃ν ἀπει̃πεν κύριος τοι̃ς υἱοι̃ς Ισραηλ οὐκ εἰσελεύσεσθε εἰς αὐτούς καὶ αὐτοὶ οὐκ εἰσελεύσονται εἰς ὑμα̃ς μὴ ἐκκλίνωσιν τὰς καρδίας ὑμω̃ν ὀπίσω εἰδώλων αὐτω̃ν εἰς αὐτοὺς ἐκολλήθη Σαλωμων του̃ ἀγαπη̃σαι (Ⅲ)

- de gentibus super quibus dixit Dominus filiis Israël : Non ingrediemini ad eas, neque de illis ingredientur ad vestras : certissime enim avertent corda vestra ut sequamini deos earum. His itaque copulatus est Salomon ardentissimo amore. (Ⅳ)

- ‫ 2 ׃11 מן הגוים אשר אמר יהוה אל בני ישראל לא תבאו בהם והם לא יבאו בכם אכן יטו את לבבכם אחרי אלהיהם בהם דבק שלמה לאהבה ‬ (Ⅴ)

11. 3

And he had seven hundred wives, princesses, and three hundred concubines: and his wives turned away his heart.

- Il eut sept cents princesses pour femmes et trois cents concubines; et ses femmes détournèrent son coeur. (Ⅱ)

- Fueruntque ei uxores quasi reginæ septingentæ, et concubinæ trecentæ : et averterunt mulieres cor ejus. (Ⅳ)

- ‫ 3 ׃11 ויהי לו נשים שרות שבע מאות ופלגשים שלש מאות ויטו נשיו את לבו ‬ (Ⅴ)

11. 4

For it came to pass, when Solomon was old, that his wives turned away his heart after other gods: and his heart was not perfect with the LORD his God, as was the heart of David his father.

- A l'époque de la vieillesse de Salomon, ses femmes inclinèrent son coeur vers d'autres dieux; et son coeur ne fut point tout entier à l'Éternel, son Dieu, comme l'avait été le coeur de David, son père. (Ⅱ)

- καὶ ἐγενήθη ἐν καιρω̨̃ γήρους Σαλωμων καὶ οὐκ ἠ̃ν ἡ καρδία αὐτου̃ τελεία μετὰ κυρίου θεου̃ αὐτου̃ καθὼς ἡ καρδία Δαυιδ του̃ πατρὸς αὐτου̃ καὶ ἐξέκλιναν αἱ γυναι̃κες αἱ ἀλλότριαι τὴν καρδίαν αὐτου̃ ὀπίσω θεω̃ν αὐτω̃ν (Ⅲ)

- Cumque jam esset senex, depravatum est cor ejus per mulieres, ut sequeretur deos alienos : nec erat cor ejus perfectum cum Domino Deo suo, sicut cor David patris ejus. (Ⅳ)

- ‫ 4 ׃11 ויהי לעת זקנת שלמה נשיו הטו את לבבו אחרי אלהים אחרים ולא היה לבבו שלם עם יהוה אלהיו כלבב דויד אביו ‬ (Ⅴ)

11. 5

For Solomon went after Ashtoreth the goddess of the Zidonians, and after Milcom the abomination of the Ammonites.

- Salomon alla après Astarté, divinité des Sidoniens, et après Milcom, l'abomination des Ammonites. (Ⅱ)

- τότε ὠ̨κοδόμησεν Σαλωμων ὑψηλὸν τω̨̃ Χαμως εἰδώλω̨ Μωαβ καὶ τω̨̃ βασιλει̃ αὐτω̃ν εἰδώλω̨ υἱω̃ν Αμμων (Ⅲ)

- Sed colebat Salomon Astarthen deam Sidoniorum, et Moloch idolum Ammonitarum. (Ⅳ)

- ‫ 5 ׃11 וילך שלמה אחרי עשתרת אלהי צדנים ואחרי מלכם שקץ עמנים ‬ (Ⅴ)

11. 6

And Solomon did evil in the sight of the LORD, and went not fully after the LORD, as did David his father.

- Et Salomon fit ce qui est mal aux yeux de l'Éternel, et il ne suivit point pleinement l'Éternel, comme David, son père. (Ⅱ)

- καὶ τη̨̃ 'Αστάρτη̨ βδελύγματι Σιδωνίων (Ⅲ)

- Fecitque Salomon quod non placuerat coram Domino, et non adimplevit ut sequeretur Dominum sicut David pater ejus. (Ⅳ)

- ‫ 6 ׃11 ויעש שלמה הרע בעיני יהוה ולא מלא אחרי יהוה כדוד אביו ס‬ (Ⅴ)

11. 7

Then did Solomon build an high place for Chemosh, the abomination of Moab, in the hill that is before Jerusalem, and for Molech, the abomination of the children of Ammon.

- Alors Salomon bâtit sur la montagne qui est en face de Jérusalem un haut lieu pour Kemosch, l'abomination de Moab, et pour Moloc, l'abomination des fils d'Ammon. (Ⅱ)

- καὶ οὕτως ἐποίησεν πάσαις ται̃ς γυναιξὶν αὐτου̃ ται̃ς ἀλλοτρίαις ἐθυμίων καὶ ἔθυον τοι̃ς εἰδώλοις αὐτω̃ν (Ⅲ)

- Tunc ædificavit Salomon fanum Chamos idolo Moab in monte qui est contra Jerusalem, et Moloch idolo filiorum Ammon. (Ⅳ)

- ‫ 7 ׃11 אז יבנה שלמה במה לכמוש שקץ מואב בהר אשר על פני ירושלם ולמלך שקץ בני עמון ‬ (Ⅴ)

11. 8

And likewise did he for all his strange wives, which burnt incense and sacrificed unto their gods.

- Et il fit ainsi pour toutes ses femmes étrangères, qui offraient des parfums et des sacrifices à leurs dieux. (Ⅱ)

- καὶ ἐποίησεν Σαλωμων τὸ πονηρὸν ἐνώπιον κυρίου οὐκ ἐπορεύθη ὀπίσω κυρίου ὡς Δαυιδ ὁ πατὴρ αὐτου̃ (Ⅲ)

- Atque in hunc modum fecit universis uxoribus suis alienigenis, quæ adolebant thura, et immolabant diis suis. (Ⅳ)

- ‫ 8 ׃11 וכן עשה לכל נשיו הנכריות מקטירות ומזבחות לאלהיהן ‬ (Ⅴ)

11. 9

And the LORD was angry with Solomon, because his heart was turned from the LORD God of Israel, which had appeared unto him twice,

- L'Éternel fut irrité contre Salomon, parce qu'il avait détourné son coeur de l'Éternel, le Dieu d'Israël, qui lui était apparu deux fois. (Ⅱ)

- καὶ ὠργίσθη κύριος ἐπὶ Σαλωμων ὅτι ἐξέκλινεν καρδίαν αὐτου̃ ἀπὸ κυρίου θεου̃ Ισραηλ του̃ ὀφθέντος αὐτω̨̃ δὶς (Ⅲ)

- Igitur iratus est Dominus Salomoni, quod aversa esset mens ejus a Domino Deo Israël, qui apparuerat ei secundo, (Ⅳ)

- ‫ 9 ׃11 ויתאנף יהוה בשלמה כי נטה לבבו מעם יהוה אלהי ישראל הנראה אליו פעמים ‬ (Ⅴ)

11. 10

And had commanded him concerning this thing, that he should not go after other gods: but he kept not that which the LORD commanded.

- Il lui avait à cet égard défendu d'aller après d'autres dieux; mais Salomon n'observa point les ordres de l'Éternel. (Ⅱ)

- καὶ ἐντειλαμένου αὐτω̨̃ ὑπὲρ του̃ λόγου τούτου τὸ παράπαν μὴ πορευθη̃ναι ὀπίσω θεω̃ν ἑτέρων καὶ φυλάξασθαι ποιη̃σαι ἃ ἐνετείλατο αὐτω̨̃ κύριος ὁ θεός (Ⅲ)

- et præceperat de verbo hoc ne sequeretur deos alienos : et non custodivit quæ mandavit ei Dominus. (Ⅳ)

- ‫ 10 ׃11 וצוה אליו על הדבר הזה לבלתי לכת אחרי אלהים אחרים ולא שמר את אשר צוה יהוה פ‬ (Ⅴ)

11. 11

Wherefore the LORD said unto Solomon, Forasmuch as this is done of thee, and thou hast not kept my covenant and my statutes, which I have commanded thee, I will surely rend the kingdom from thee, and will give it to thy servant.

- Et l'Éternel dit à Salomon: Puisque tu as agi de la sorte, et que tu n'as point observé mon alliance et mes lois que je t'avais prescrites, je déchirerai le royaume de dessus toi et je le donnerai à ton serviteur. (Ⅱ)

- καὶ εἰ̃πεν κύριος πρὸς Σαλωμων ἀνθ' ὡ̃ν ἐγένετο ταυ̃τα μετὰ σου̃ καὶ οὐκ ἐφύλαξας τὰς ἐντολάς μου καὶ τὰ προστάγματά μου ἃ ἐνετειλάμην σοι διαρρήσσων διαρρήξω τὴν βασιλείαν σου ἐκ χειρός σου καὶ δώσω αὐτὴν τω̨̃ δούλω̨ σου (Ⅲ)

- Dixit itaque Dominus Salomoni : Quia habuisti hoc apud te, et non custodisti pactum meum, et præcepta mea quæ mandavi tibi, disrumpens scindam regnum tuum, et dabo illud servo tuo. (Ⅳ)

- ‫ 11 ׃11 ויאמר יהוה לשלמה יען אשר היתה זאת עמך ולא שמרת בריתי וחקתי אשר צויתי עליך קרע אקרע את הממלכה מעליך ונתתיה לעבדך ‬ (Ⅴ)

11. 12

Notwithstanding in thy days I will not do it for David thy father's sake: but I will rend it out of the hand of thy son.

- Seulement, je ne le ferai point pendant ta vie, à cause de David, ton père. C'est de la main de ton fils que je l'arracherai. (Ⅱ)

- πλὴν ἐν ται̃ς ἡμέραις σου οὐ ποιήσω αὐτὰ διὰ Δαυιδ τὸν πατέρα σου ἐκ χειρὸς υἱου̃ σου λήμψομαι αὐτήν (Ⅲ)

- Verumtamen in diebus tuis non faciam propter David patrem tuum : de manu filii tui scindam illud, (Ⅳ)

- ‫ 12 ׃11 אך בימיך לא אעשנה למען דוד אביך מיד בנך אקרענה ‬ (Ⅴ)

11. 13

Howbeit I will not rend away all the kingdom; but will give one tribe to thy son for David my servant's sake, and for Jerusalem's sake which I have chosen.

- Je n'arracherai cependant pas tout le royaume; je laisserai une tribu à ton fils, à cause de David, mon serviteur, et à cause de Jérusalem, que j'ai choisie. (Ⅱ)

- πλὴν ὅλην τὴν βασιλείαν οὐ μὴ λάβω σκη̃πτρον ἓν δώσω τω̨̃ υἱω̨̃ σου διὰ Δαυιδ τὸν δου̃λόν μου καὶ διὰ Ιερουσαλημ τὴν πόλιν ἣν ἐξελεξάμην (Ⅲ)

- nec totum regnum auferam, sed tribum unam dabo filio tuo propter David servum meum, et Jerusalem, quam elegi.\ (Ⅳ)

- ‫ 13 ׃11 רק את כל הממלכה לא אקרע שבט אחד אתן לבנך למען דוד עבדי ולמען ירושלם אשר בחרתי ‬ (Ⅴ)

11. 14

And the LORD stirred up an adversary unto Solomon, Hadad the Edomite: he was of the king's seed in Edom.

- L'Éternel suscita un ennemi à Salomon: Hadad, l'Édomite, de la race royale d'Édom. (Ⅱ)

- καὶ ἤγειρεν κύριος σαταν τω̨̃ Σαλωμων τὸν Αδερ τὸν Ιδουμαι̃ον καὶ τὸν Εσρωμ υἱὸν Ελιαδαε τὸν ἐν Ραεμμαθ Αδραζαρ βασιλέα Σουβα κύριον αὐτου̃ καὶ συνηθροίσθησαν ἐπ' αὐτὸν ἄνδρες καὶ ἠ̃ν ἄρχων συστρέμματος καὶ προκατελάβετο τὴν Δαμασεκ καὶ ἠ̃σαν σαταν τω̨̃ Ισραηλ πάσας τὰς ἡμέρας Σαλωμων καὶ Αδερ ὁ Ιδουμαι̃ος ἐκ του̃ σπέρματος τη̃ς βασιλείας ἐν Ιδουμαία̨ (Ⅲ)

- Suscitavit autem Dominus adversarium Salomoni Adad Idumæum de semine regio, qui erat in Edom. (Ⅳ)

- ‫ 14 ׃11 ויקם יהוה שטן לשלמה את הדד האדמי מזרע המלך הוא באדום ‬ (Ⅴ)

11. 15

For it came to pass, when David was in Edom, and Joab the captain of the host was gone up to bury the slain, after he had smitten every male in Edom;

- Dans le temps où David battit Édom, Joab, chef de l'armée, étant monté pour enterrer les morts, tua tous les mâles qui étaient en Édom; (Ⅱ)

- καὶ ἐγένετο ἐν τω̨̃ ἐξολεθρευ̃σαι Δαυιδ τὸν Εδωμ ἐν τω̨̃ πορευθη̃ναι Ιωαβ ἄρχοντα τη̃ς στρατια̃ς θάπτειν τοὺς τραυματίας ἔκοψαν πα̃ν ἀρσενικὸν ἐν τη̨̃ Ιδουμαία̨ (Ⅲ)

- Cum enim esset David in Idumæa, et ascendisset Joab princeps militiæ ad sepeliendum eos qui fuerant interfecti, et occidisset omnem masculinum in Idumæa (Ⅳ)

- ‫ 15 ׃11 ויהי בהיות דוד את אדום בעלות יואב שר הצבא לקבר את החללים ויך כל זכר באדום ‬ (Ⅴ)

11. 16

(For six months did Joab remain there with all Israel, until he had cut off every male in Edom:)

- il y resta six mois avec tout Israël, jusqu'à ce qu'il en eût exterminé tous les mâles. (Ⅱ)

- ὅτι ἓξ μη̃νας ἐνεκάθητο ἐκει̃ Ιωαβ καὶ πα̃ς Ισραηλ ἐν τη̨̃ Ιδουμαία̨ ἕως ὅτου ἐξωλέθρευσεν πα̃ν ἀρσενικὸν ἐκ τη̃ς Ιδουμαίας (Ⅲ)

- (sex enim mensibus ibi moratus est Joab, et omnis Israël, donec interimeret omne masculinum in Idumæa), (Ⅳ)

- ‫ 16 ׃11 כי ששת חדשים ישב שם יואב וכל ישראל עד הכרית כל זכר באדום ‬ (Ⅴ)

11. 17

That Hadad fled, he and certain Edomites of his father's servants with him, to go into Egypt; Hadad being yet a little child.

- Ce fut alors qu'Hadad prit la fuite avec des Édomites, serviteurs de son père, pour se rendre en Égypte. Hadad était encore un jeune garçon. (Ⅱ)

- καὶ ἀπέδρα Αδερ αὐτὸς καὶ πάντες ἄνδρες Ιδουμαι̃οι τω̃ν παίδων του̃ πατρὸς αὐτου̃ μετ' αὐτου̃ καὶ εἰση̃λθον εἰς Αἴγυπτον καὶ Αδερ παιδάριον μικρόν (Ⅲ)

- fugit Adad ipse, et viri Idumæi de servis patris ejus cum eo, ut ingrederetur Ægyptum : erat autem Adad puer parvulus. (Ⅳ)

- ‫ 17 ׃11 ויברח אדד הוא ואנשים אדמיים מעבדי אביו אתו לבוא מצרים והדד נער קטן ‬ (Ⅴ)

11. 18

And they arose out of Midian, and came to Paran: and they took men with them out of Paran, and they came to Egypt, unto Pharaoh king of Egypt; which gave him an house, and appointed him victuals, and gave him land.

- Partis de Madian, ils allèrent à Paran, prirent avec eux des hommes de Paran, et arrivèrent en Égypte auprès de Pharaon, roi d'Égypte, Pharaon donna une maison à Hadad, pourvut à sa subsistance, et lui accorda des terres. (Ⅱ)

- καὶ ἀνίστανται ἄνδρες ἐκ τη̃ς πόλεως Μαδιαμ καὶ ἔρχονται εἰς Φαραν καὶ λαμβάνουσιν ἄνδρας μετ' αὐτω̃ν καὶ ἔρχονται πρὸς Φαραω βασιλέα Αἰγύπτου καὶ εἰση̃λθεν Αδερ πρὸς Φαραω καὶ ἔδωκεν αὐτω̨̃ οἰ̃κον καὶ ἄρτους διέταξεν αὐτω̨̃ (Ⅲ)

- Cumque surrexissent de Madian, venerunt in Pharan, tuleruntque secum viros de Pharan, et introierunt Ægyptum ad Pharaonem regem Ægypti : qui dedit ei domum, et cibos constituit, et terram delegavit. (Ⅳ)

- ‫ 18 ׃11 ויקמו ממדין ויבאו פארן ויקחו אנשים עמם מפארן ויבאו מצרים אל פרעה מלך מצרים ויתן לו בית ולחם אמר לו וארץ נתן לו ‬ (Ⅴ)

11. 19

And Hadad found great favor in the sight of Pharaoh, so that he gave him to wife the sister of his own wife, the sister of Tahpenes the queen.

- Hadad trouva grâce aux yeux de Pharaon, à tel point que Pharaon lui donna pour femme la soeur de sa femme, la soeur de la reine Thachpenès. (Ⅱ)

- καὶ εὑ̃ρεν Αδερ χάριν ἐναντίον Φαραω σφόδρα καὶ ἔδωκεν αὐτω̨̃ γυναι̃κα ἀδελφὴν τη̃ς γυναικὸς αὐτου̃ ἀδελφὴν Θεκεμινας τὴν μείζω (Ⅲ)

- Et invenit Adad gratiam coram Pharaone valde, in tantum ut daret ei uxorem sororem uxoris suæ germanam Taphnes reginæ. (Ⅳ)

- ‫ 19 ׃11 וימצא הדד חן בעיני פרעה מאד ויתן לו אשה את אחות אשתו אחות תחפניס הגבירה ‬ (Ⅴ)

11. 20

And the sister of Tahpenes bare him Genubath his son, whom Tahpenes weaned in Pharaoh's house: and Genubath was in Pharaoh's household among the sons of Pharaoh.

- La soeur de Thachpenès lui enfanta son fils Guenubath. Thachpenès le sevra dans la maison de Pharaon; et Guenubath fut dans la maison de Pharaon, au milieu des enfants de Pharaon. (Ⅱ)

- καὶ ἔτεκεν αὐτω̨̃ ἡ ἀδελφὴ Θεκεμινας τω̨̃ Αδερ τὸν Γανηβαθ υἱὸν αὐτη̃ς καὶ ἐξέθρεψεν αὐτὸν Θεκεμινα ἐν μέσω̨ υἱω̃ν Φαραω καὶ ἠ̃ν Γανηβαθ ἐν μέσω̨ υἱω̃ν Φαραω (Ⅲ)

- Genuitque ei soror Taphnes Genubath filium, et nutrivit eum Taphnes in domo Pharaonis : eratque Genubath habitans apud Pharaonem cum filiis ejus. (Ⅳ)

- ‫ 20 ׃11 ותלד לו אחות תחפניס את גנבת בנו ותגמלהו תחפנס בתוך בית פרעה ויהי גנבת בית פרעה בתוך בני פרעה ‬ (Ⅴ)

11. 21

And when Hadad heard in Egypt that David slept with his fathers, and that Joab the captain of the host was dead, Hadad said to Pharaoh, Let me depart, that I may go to mine own country.

- Lorsque Hadad apprit en Égypte que David était couché avec ses pères, et que Joab, chef de l'armée, était mort, il dit à Pharaon: Laisse-moi aller dans mon pays. (Ⅱ)

- καὶ Αδερ ἤκουσεν ἐν Αἰγύπτω̨ ὅτι κεκοίμηται Δαυιδ μετὰ τω̃ν πατέρων αὐτου̃ καὶ ὅτι τέθνηκεν Ιωαβ ὁ ἄρχων τη̃ς στρατια̃ς καὶ εἰ̃πεν Αδερ πρὸς Φαραω ἐξαπόστειλόν με καὶ ἀποστρέψω εἰς τὴν γη̃ν μου (Ⅲ)

- Cumque audisset Adad in Ægypto dormisse David cum patribus suis, et mortuum esse Joab principem militiæ, dixit Pharaoni : Dimitte me, ut vadam in terram meam. (Ⅳ)

- ‫ 21 ׃11 והדד שמע במצרים כי שכב דוד עם אבתיו וכי מת יואב שר הצבא ויאמר הדד אל פרעה שלחני ואלך אל ארצי ‬ (Ⅴ)

11. 22

Then Pharaoh said unto him, But what hast thou lacked with me, that, behold, thou seekest to go to thine own country? And he answered, Nothing: howbeit let me go in any wise.

- Et Pharaon lui dit: Que te manque-t-il auprès de moi, pour que tu désires aller dans ton pays? Il répondit: Rien, mais laisse-moi partir. (Ⅱ)

- καὶ εἰ̃πεν Φαραω τω̨̃ Αδερ τίνι σὺ ἐλαττονη̨̃ μετ' ἐμου̃ καὶ ἰδοὺ σὺ ζητει̃ς ἀπελθει̃ν εἰς τὴν γη̃ν σου καὶ εἰ̃πεν αὐτω̨̃ Αδερ ὅτι ἐξαποστέλλων ἐξαποστελει̃ς με καὶ ἀνέστρεψεν Αδερ εἰς τὴν γη̃ν αὐτου̃ (Ⅲ)

- Dixitque ei Pharao : Qua enim re apud me indiges, ut quæras ire ad terram tuam ? At ille respondit : Nulla : sed obsecro te ut dimittas me.\ (Ⅳ)

- ‫ 22 ׃11 ויאמר לו פרעה כי מה אתה חסר עמי והנך מבקש ללכת אל ארצך ויאמר לא כי שלח תשלחני ‬ (Ⅴ)

11. 23

And God stirred him up another adversary, Rezon the son of Eliadah, which fled from his lord Hadadezer king of Zobah:

- Dieu suscita un autre ennemi à Salomon: Rezon, fils d'Éliada, qui s'était enfui de chez son maître Hadadézer, roi de Tsoba. (Ⅱ)

- Suscitavit quoque ei Deus adversarium Razon filium Eliada, qui fugerat Adarezer regem Soba dominum suum : (Ⅳ)

- ‫ 23 ׃11 ויקם אלהים לו שטן את רזון בן אלידע אשר ברח מאת הדדעזר מלך צובה אדניו ‬ (Ⅴ)

11. 24

And he gathered men unto him, and became captain over a band, when David slew them of Zobah: and they went to Damascus, and dwelt therein, and reigned in Damascus.

- Il avait rassemblé des gens auprès de lui, et il était chef de bande, lorsque David massacra les troupes de son maître. Ils allèrent à Damas, et s'y établirent, et ils régnèrent à Damas. (Ⅱ)

- et congregavit contra eum viros, et factus est princeps latronum cum interficeret eos David : abieruntque Damascum, et habitaverunt ibi, et constituerunt eum regem in Damasco : (Ⅳ)

- ‫ 24 ׃11 ויקבץ עליו אנשים ויהי שר גדוד בהרג דוד אתם וילכו דמשק וישבו בה וימלכו בדמשק ‬ (Ⅴ)

11. 25

And he was an adversary to Israel all the days of Solomon, beside the mischief that Hadad did: and he abhorred Israel, and reigned over Syria.

- Il fut un ennemi d'Israël pendant toute la vie de Salomon, en même temps qu'Hadad lui faisait du mal, et il avait Israël en aversion. Il régna sur la Syrie. (Ⅱ)

- αὕτη ἡ κακία ἣν ἐποίησεν Αδερ καὶ ἐβαρυθύμησεν ἐν Ισραηλ καὶ ἐβασίλευσεν ἐν γη̨̃ Εδωμ (Ⅲ)

- eratque adversarius Israëli cunctis diebus Salomonis : et hoc est malum Adad, et odium contra Israël : regnavitque in Syria. (Ⅳ)

- ‫ 25 ׃11 ויהי שטן לישראל כל ימי שלמה ואת הרעה אשר הדד ויקץ בישראל וימלך על ארם פ‬ (Ⅴ)

11. 26

And Jeroboam the son of Nebat, an Ephrathite of Zereda, Solomon's servant, whose mother's name was Zeruah, a widow woman, even he lifted up his hand against the king.

- Jéroboam aussi, serviteur de Salomon, leva la main contre le roi. Il était fils de Nebath, Éphratien de Tseréda, et il avait pour mère une veuve nommée Tserua. (Ⅱ)

- καὶ Ιεροβοαμ υἱὸς Ναβατ ὁ Εφραθι ἐκ τη̃ς Σαριρα υἱὸς γυναικὸς χήρας δου̃λος Σαλωμων (Ⅲ)

- Jeroboam quoque filius Nabat, Ephrathæus, de Sareda, servus Salomonis, cujus mater erat nomine Sarva, mulier vidua, levavit manum contra regem. (Ⅳ)

- ‫ 26 ׃11 וירבעם בן נבט אפרתי מן הצרדה ושם אמו צרועה אשה אלמנה עבד לשלמה וירם יד במלך ‬ (Ⅴ)

11. 27

And this was the cause that he lifted up his hand against the king: Solomon built Millo, and repaired the breaches of the city of David his father.

- Voici à quelle occasion il leva la main contre le roi. Salomon bâtissait Millo, et fermait la brèche de la cité de David, son père. (Ⅱ)

- καὶ του̃το τὸ πρα̃γμα ὡς ἐπήρατο χει̃ρας ἐπὶ βασιλέα Σαλωμων ὠ̨κοδόμησεν τὴν ἄκραν συνέκλεισεν τὸν φραγμὸν τη̃ς πόλεως Δαυιδ του̃ πατρὸς αὐτου̃ (Ⅲ)

- Et hæc est causa rebellionis adversus eum, quia Salomon ædificavit Mello, et coæquavit voraginem civitatis David patris sui. (Ⅳ)

- ‫ 27 ׃11 וזה הדבר אשר הרים יד במלך שלמה בנה את המלוא סגר את פרץ עיר דוד אביו ‬ (Ⅴ)

11. 28

And the man Jeroboam was a mighty man of valor: and Solomon seeing the young man that he was industrious, he made him ruler over all the charge of the house of Joseph.

- Jéroboam était fort et vaillant; et Salomon, ayant vu ce jeune homme à l'oeuvre, lui donna la surveillance de tous les gens de corvée de la maison de Joseph. (Ⅱ)

- καὶ ὁ ἄνθρωπος Ιεροβοαμ ἰσχυρὸς δυνάμει καὶ εἰ̃δεν Σαλωμων τὸ παιδάριον ὅτι ἀνὴρ ἔργων ἐστίν καὶ κατέστησεν αὐτὸν ἐπὶ τὰς ἄρσεις οἴκου Ιωσηφ (Ⅲ)

- Erat autem Jeroboam vir fortis et potens : vidensque Salomon adolescentem bonæ indolis et industrium, constituerat eum præfectum super tributa universæ domus Joseph.\ (Ⅳ)

- ‫ 28 ׃11 והאיש ירבעם גבור חיל וירא שלמה את הנער כי עשה מלאכה הוא ויפקד אתו לכל סבל בית יוסף ס‬ (Ⅴ)

11. 29

And it came to pass at that time when Jeroboam went out of Jerusalem, that the prophet Ahijah the Shilonite found him in the way; and he had clad himself with a new garment; and they two were alone in the field:

- Dans ce temps-là, Jéroboam, étant sorti de Jérusalem, fut rencontré en chemin par le prophète Achija de Silo, revêtu d'un manteau neuf. Ils étaient tous deux seuls dans les champs. (Ⅱ)

- καὶ ἐγενήθη ἐν τω̨̃ καιρω̨̃ ἐκείνω̨ καὶ Ιεροβοαμ ἐξη̃λθεν ἐξ Ιερουσαλημ καὶ εὑ̃ρεν αὐτὸν Αχιας ὁ Σηλωνίτης ὁ προφήτης ἐν τη̨̃ ὁδω̨̃ καὶ ἀπέστησεν αὐτὸν ἐκ τη̃ς ὁδου̃ καὶ ὁ Αχιας περιβεβλημένος ἱματίω̨ καινω̨̃ καὶ ἀμφότεροι ἐν τω̨̃ πεδίω̨ (Ⅲ)

- Factum est igitur in tempore illo, ut Jeroboam egrederetur de Jerusalem, et inveniret eum Ahias Silonites propheta in via, opertus pallio novo : erant autem duo tantum in agro. (Ⅳ)

- ‫ 29 ׃11 ויהי בעת ההיא וירבעם יצא מירושלם וימצא אתו אחיה השילני הנביא בדרך והוא מתכסה בשלמה חדשה ושניהם לבדם בשדה ‬ (Ⅴ)

11. 30

And Ahijah caught the new garment that was on him, and rent it in twelve pieces:

- Achija saisit le manteau neuf qu'il avait sur lui, le déchira en douze morceaux, (Ⅱ)

- καὶ ἐπελάβετο Αχια του̃ ἱματίου αὐτου̃ του̃ καινου̃ του̃ ἐπ' αὐτω̨̃ καὶ διέρρηξεν αὐτὸ δώδεκα ῥήγματα (Ⅲ)

- Apprehendensque Ahias pallium suum novum quo coopertus erat, scidit in duodecim partes. (Ⅳ)

- ‫ 30 ׃11 ויתפש אחיה בשלמה החדשה אשר עליו ויקרעה שנים עשר קרעים ‬ (Ⅴ)

11. 31

And he said to Jeroboam, Take thee ten pieces: for thus saith the LORD, the God of Israel, Behold, I will rend the kingdom out of the hand of Solomon, and will give ten tribes to thee:

- et dit à Jéroboam: Prends pour toi dix morceaux! Car ainsi parle l'Éternel, le Dieu d'Israël: Voici, je vais arracher le royaume de la main de Salomon, et je te donnerai dix tribus. (Ⅱ)

- καὶ εἰ̃πεν τω̨̃ Ιεροβοαμ λαβὲ σεαυτω̨̃ δέκα ῥήγματα ὅτι τάδε λέγει κύριος ὁ θεὸς Ισραηλ ἰδοὺ ἐγὼ ῥήσσω τὴν βασιλείαν ἐκ χειρὸς Σαλωμων καὶ δώσω σοι δέκα σκη̃πτρα (Ⅲ)

- Et ait ad Jeroboam : Tolle tibi decem scissuras : hæc enim dicit Dominus Deus Israël : Ecce ego scindam regnum de manu Salomonis, et dabo tibi decem tribus. (Ⅳ)

- ‫ 31 ׃11 ויאמר לירבעם קח לך עשרה קרעים כי כה אמר יהוה אלהי ישראל הנני קרע את הממלכה מיד שלמה ונתתי לך את עשרה השבטים ‬ (Ⅴ)

11. 32

(But he shall have one tribe for my servant David's sake, and for Jerusalem's sake, the city which I have chosen out of all the tribes of Israel:)

- Mais il aura une tribu, à cause de mon serviteur David, et à cause de Jérusalem, la ville que j'ai choisie sur toutes les tribus d'Israël. (Ⅱ)

- καὶ δύο σκη̃πτρα ἔσονται αὐτω̨̃ διὰ τὸν δου̃λόν μου Δαυιδ καὶ διὰ Ιερουσαλημ τὴν πόλιν ἣν ἐξελεξάμην ἐν αὐτη̨̃ ἐκ πασω̃ν φυλω̃ν Ισραηλ (Ⅲ)

- Porro una tribus remanebit ei propter servum meum David, et Jerusalem civitatem, quam elegi ex omnibus tribubus Israël : (Ⅳ)

- ‫ 32 ׃11 והשבט האחד יהיה לו למען עבדי דוד ולמען ירושלם העיר אשר בחרתי בה מכל שבטי ישראל ‬ (Ⅴ)

11. 33

Because that they have forsaken me, and have worshipped Ashtoreth the goddess of the Zidonians, Chemosh the god of the Moabites, and Milcom the god of the children of Ammon, and have not walked in my ways, to do that which is right in mine eyes, and to keep my statutes and my judgments, as did David his father.

- Et cela, parce qu'ils m'ont abandonné, et se sont prosternés devant Astarté, divinité des Sidoniens, devant Kemosch, dieu de Moab, et devant Milcom, dieu des fils d'Ammon, et parce qu'ils n'ont point marché dans mes voies pour faire ce qui est droit à mes yeux et pour observer mes lois et mes ordonnances, comme l'a fait David, père de Salomon. (Ⅱ)

- ἀνθ' ὡ̃ν κατέλιπέν με καὶ ἐποίησεν τη̨̃ 'Αστάρτη̨ βδελύγματι Σιδωνίων καὶ τω̨̃ Χαμως καὶ τοι̃ς εἰδώλοις Μωαβ καὶ τω̨̃ βασιλει̃ αὐτω̃ν προσοχθίσματι υἱω̃ν Αμμων καὶ οὐκ ἐπορεύθη ἐν ται̃ς ὁδοι̃ς μου του̃ ποιη̃σαι τὸ εὐθὲς ἐνώπιον ἐμου̃ ὡς Δαυιδ ὁ πατὴρ αὐτου̃ (Ⅲ)

- eo quod dereliquerit me, et adoraverit Astarthen deam Sidoniorum, et Chamos deum Moab, et Moloch deum filiorum Ammon : et non ambulaverit in viis meis, ut faceret justitiam coram me, et præcepta mea et judicia, sicut David pater ejus. (Ⅳ)

- ‫ 33 ׃11 יען אשר עזבוני וישתחוו לעשתרת אלהי צדנין לכמוש אלהי מואב ולמלכם אלהי בני עמון ולא הלכו בדרכי לעשות הישר בעיני וחקתי ומשפטי כדוד אביו ‬ (Ⅴ)

11. 34

Howbeit I will not take the whole kingdom out of his hand: but I will make him prince all the days of his life for David my servant's sake, whom I chose, because he kept my commandments and my statutes:

- Je n'ôterai pas de sa main tout le royaume, car je le maintiendrai prince tout le temps de sa vie, à cause de David, mon serviteur, que j'ai choisi, et qui a observé mes commandements et mes lois. (Ⅱ)

- καὶ οὐ μὴ λάβω ὅλην τὴν βασιλείαν ἐκ χειρὸς αὐτου̃ διότι ἀντιτασσόμενος ἀντιτάξομαι αὐτω̨̃ πάσας τὰς ἡμέρας τη̃ς ζωη̃ς αὐτου̃ διὰ Δαυιδ τὸν δου̃λόν μου ὃν ἐξελεξάμην αὐτόν (Ⅲ)

- Nec auferam omne regnum de manu ejus, sed ducem ponam eum cunctis diebus vitæ suæ, propter David servum meum quem elegi, qui custodivit mandata mea et præcepta mea. (Ⅳ)

- ‫ 34 ׃11 ולא אקח את כל הממלכה מידו כי נשיא אשתנו כל ימי חייו למען דוד עבדי אשר בחרתי אתו אשר שמר מצותי וחקתי ‬ (Ⅴ)

11. 35

But I will take the kingdom out of his son's hand, and will give it unto thee, even ten tribes.

- Mais j'ôterai le royaume de la main de son fils, et je t'en donnerai dix tribus; (Ⅱ)

- καὶ λήμψομαι τὴν βασιλείαν ἐκ χειρὸς του̃ υἱου̃ αὐτου̃ καὶ δώσω σοι τὰ δέκα σκη̃πτρα (Ⅲ)

- Auferam autem regnum de manu filii ejus, et dabo tibi decem tribus : (Ⅳ)

- ‫ 35 ׃11 ולקחתי המלוכה מיד בנו ונתתיה לך את עשרת השבטים ‬ (Ⅴ)

11. 36

And unto his son will I give one tribe, that David my servant may have a light alway before me in Jerusalem, the city which I have chosen me to put my name there.

- je laisserai une tribu à son fils, afin que David, mon serviteur, ait toujours une lampe devant moi à Jérusalem, la ville que j'ai choisie pour y mettre mon nom. (Ⅱ)

- τω̨̃ δὲ υἱω̨̃ αὐτου̃ δώσω τὰ δύο σκη̃πτρα ὅπως ἠ̨̃ θέσις τω̨̃ δούλω̨ μου Δαυιδ πάσας τὰς ἡμέρας ἐνώπιον ἐμου̃ ἐν Ιερουσαλημ τη̨̃ πόλει ἣν ἐξελεξάμην ἐμαυτω̨̃ του̃ θέσθαι ὄνομά μου ἐκει̃ (Ⅲ)

- filio autem ejus dabo tribum unam, ut remaneat lucerna David servo meo cunctis diebus coram me in Jerusalem civitate, quam elegi ut esset nomen meum ibi. (Ⅳ)

- ‫ 36 ׃11 ולבנו אתן שבט אחד למען היות ניר לדויד עבדי כל הימים לפני בירושלם העיר אשר בחרתי לי לשום שמי שם ‬ (Ⅴ)

11. 37

And I will take thee, and thou shalt reign according to all that thy soul desireth, and shalt be king over Israel.

- Je te prendrai, et tu régneras sur tout ce que ton âme désirera, tu seras roi d'Israël. (Ⅱ)

- καὶ σὲ λήμψομαι καὶ βασιλεύσεις ἐν οἱ̃ς ἐπιθυμει̃ ἡ ψυχή σου καὶ σὺ ἔση̨ βασιλεὺς ἐπὶ τὸν Ισραηλ (Ⅲ)

- Te autem assumam, et regnabis super omnia quæ desiderat anima tua, erisque rex super Israël. (Ⅳ)

- ‫ 37 ׃11 ואתך אקח ומלכת בכל אשר תאוה נפשך והיית מלך על ישראל ‬ (Ⅴ)

11. 38

And it shall be, if thou wilt hearken unto all that I command thee, and wilt walk in my ways, and do that is right in my sight, to keep my statutes and my commandments, as David my servant did; that I will be with thee, and build thee a sure house, as I built for David, and will give Israel unto thee.

- Si tu obéis à tout ce que je t'ordonnerai, si tu marches dans mes voies et si tu fais ce qui est droit à mes yeux, en observant mes lois et mes commandements, comme l'a fait David, mon serviteur, je serai avec toi, je te bâtirai une maison stable, comme j'en ai bâti une à David, et je te donnerai Israël. (Ⅱ)

- καὶ ἔσται ἐὰν φυλάξη̨ς πάντα ὅσα ἂν ἐντείλωμαί σοι καὶ πορευθη̨̃ς ἐν ται̃ς ὁδοι̃ς μου καὶ ποιήση̨ς τὸ εὐθὲς ἐνώπιον ἐμου̃ του̃ φυλάξασθαι τὰς ἐντολάς μου καὶ τὰ προστάγματά μου καθὼς ἐποίησεν Δαυιδ ὁ δου̃λός μου καὶ ἔσομαι μετὰ σου̃ καὶ οἰκοδομήσω σοι οἰ̃κον πιστόν καθὼς ὠ̨κοδόμησα τω̨̃ Δαυιδ (Ⅲ)

- Si igitur audieris omnia quæ præcepero tibi, et ambulaveris in viis meis, et feceris quod rectum est coram me, custodiens mandata mea et præcepta mea, sicut fecit David servus meus : ero tecum, et ædificabo tibi domum fidelem, quomodo ædificavi David domum : et tradam tibi Israël : (Ⅳ)

- ‫ 38 ׃11 והיה אם תשמע את כל אשר אצוך והלכת בדרכי ועשית הישר בעיני לשמור חקותי ומצותי כאשר עשה דוד עבדי והייתי עמך ובניתי לך בית נאמן כאשר בניתי לדוד ונתתי לך את ישראל ‬ (Ⅴ)

11. 39

And I will for this afflict the seed of David, but not for ever.

- J'humilierai par là la postérité de David, mais ce ne sera pas pour toujours. (Ⅱ)

- et affligam semen David super hoc, verumtamen non cunctis diebus. (Ⅳ)

- ‫ 39 ׃11 ואענה את זרע דוד למען זאת אך לא כל הימים ס‬ (Ⅴ)

11. 40

Solomon sought therefore to kill Jeroboam. And Jeroboam arose, and fled into Egypt, unto Shishak king of Egypt, and was in Egypt until the death of Solomon.

- Salomon chercha à faire mourir Jéroboam. Et Jéroboam se leva et s'enfuit en Égypte auprès de Schischak, roi d'Égypte; il demeura en Égypte jusqu'à la mort de Salomon. (Ⅱ)

- καὶ ἐζήτησεν Σαλωμων θανατω̃σαι τὸν Ιεροβοαμ καὶ ἀνέστη καὶ ἀπέδρα εἰς Αἴγυπτον πρὸς Σουσακιμ βασιλέα Αἰγύπτου καὶ ἠ̃ν ἐν Αἰγύπτω̨ ἕως οὑ̃ ἀπέθανεν Σαλωμων (Ⅲ)

- Voluit ergo Salomon interficere Jeroboam : qui surrexit, et aufugit in Ægyptum ad Sesac regem Ægypti, et fuit in Ægypto usque ad mortem Salomonis.\ (Ⅳ)

- ‫ 40 ׃11 ויבקש שלמה להמית את ירבעם ויקם ירבעם ויברח מצרים אל שישק מלך מצרים ויהי במצרים עד מות שלמה ‬ (Ⅴ)

11. 41

And the rest of the acts of Solomon, and all that he did, and his wisdom, are they not written in the book of the acts of Solomon?

- Le reste des actions de Salomon, tout ce qu'il a fait, et sa sagesse, cela n'est-il pas écrit dans le livre des actes de Salomon? (Ⅱ)

- καὶ τὰ λοιπὰ τω̃ν ῥημάτων Σαλωμων καὶ πάντα ὅσα ἐποίησεν καὶ πα̃σαν τὴν φρόνησιν αὐτου̃ οὐκ ἰδοὺ ταυ̃τα γέγραπται ἐν βιβλίω̨ ῥημάτων Σαλωμων (Ⅲ)

- Reliquum autem verborum Salomonis, et omnia quæ fecit, et sapientia ejus, ecce universa scripta sunt in libro verborum dierum Salomonis. (Ⅳ)

- ‫ 41 ׃11 ויתר דברי שלמה וכל אשר עשה וחכמתו הלוא הם כתבים על ספר דברי שלמה ‬ (Ⅴ)

11. 42

And the time that Solomon reigned in Jerusalem over all Israel was forty years.

- Salomon régna quarante ans à Jérusalem sur tout Israël. (Ⅱ)

- καὶ αἱ ἡμέραι ἃς ἐβασίλευσεν Σαλωμων ἐν Ιερουσαλημ τεσσαράκοντα ἔτη (Ⅲ)

- Dies autem quos regnavit Salomon in Jerusalem super omnem Israël, quadraginta anni sunt. (Ⅳ)

- ‫ 42 ׃11 והימים אשר מלך שלמה בירושלם על כל ישראל ארבעים שנה ‬ (Ⅴ)

11. 43

And Solomon slept with his fathers, and was buried in the city of David his father: and Rehoboam his son reigned in his stead.

- Puis Salomon se coucha avec ses pères, et il fut enterré dans la ville de David, son père. Roboam, son fils, régna à sa place. (Ⅱ)

- καὶ ἐκοιμήθη Σαλωμων μετὰ τω̃ν πατέρων αὐτου̃ καὶ ἔθαψαν αὐτὸν ἐν πόλει Δαυιδ του̃ πατρὸς αὐτου̃ καὶ ἐγενήθη ὡς ἤκουσεν Ιεροβοαμ υἱὸς Ναβατ καὶ αὐτου̃ ἔτι ὄντος ἐν Αἰγύπτω̨ ὡς ἔφυγεν ἐκ προσώπου Σαλωμων καὶ ἐκάθητο ἐν Αἰγύπτω̨ κατευθύνει καὶ ἔρχεται εἰς τὴν πόλιν αὐτου̃ εἰς τὴν γη̃ν Σαριρα τὴν ἐν ὄρει Εφραιμ καὶ ὁ βασιλεὺς Σαλωμων ἐκοιμήθη μετὰ τω̃ν πατέρων αὐτου̃ καὶ ἐβασίλευσεν Ροβοαμ υἱὸς αὐτου̃ ἀντ' αὐτου̃ (Ⅲ)

- Dormivitque Salomon cum patribus suis, et sepultus est in civitate David patris sui : regnavitque Roboam filius ejus pro eo. (Ⅳ)

- ‫ 43 ׃11 וישכב שלמה עם אבתיו ויקבר בעיר דוד אביו וימלך רחבעם בנו תחתיו ס‬ (Ⅴ)
