2. 1

Now the days of David drew nigh that he should die; and he charged Solomon his son, saying,

- David approchait du moment de sa mort, et il donna ses ordres à Salomon, son fils, en disant: (Ⅱ)

- καὶ ἤγγισαν αἱ ἡμέραι Δαυιδ ἀποθανει̃ν αὐτόν καὶ ἐνετείλατο τω̨̃ Σαλωμων υἱω̨̃ αὐτου̃ λέγων (Ⅲ)

- Appropinquaverunt autem dies David ut moreretur : præcepitque Salomoni filio suo, dicens : (Ⅳ)

- ‫ 1 ׃2 ויקרבו ימי דוד למות ויצו את שלמה בנו לאמר ‬ (Ⅴ)

2. 2

I go the way of all the earth: be thou strong therefore, and show thyself a man;

- Je m'en vais par le chemin de toute la terre. Fortifie-toi, et sois un homme! (Ⅱ)

- ἐγώ εἰμι πορεύομαι ἐν ὁδω̨̃ πάσης τη̃ς γη̃ς καὶ ἰσχύσεις καὶ ἔση̨ εἰς ἄνδρα (Ⅲ)

- Ego ingredior viam universæ terræ : confortare, et esto vir. (Ⅳ)

- ‫ 2 ׃2 אנכי הלך בדרך כל הארץ וחזקת והיית לאיש ‬ (Ⅴ)

2. 3

And keep the charge of the LORD thy God, to walk in his ways, to keep his statutes, and his commandments, and his judgments, and his testimonies, as it is written in the law of Moses, that thou mayest prosper in all that thou doest, and whithersoever thou turnest thyself:

- Observe les commandements de l'Éternel, ton Dieu, en marchant dans ses voies, et en gardant ses lois, ses ordonnances, ses jugements et ses préceptes, selon ce qui est écrit dans la loi de Moïse, afin que tu réussisses dans tout ce que tu feras et partout où tu te tourneras, (Ⅱ)

- καὶ φυλάξεις τὴν φυλακὴν κυρίου του̃ θεου̃ σου του̃ πορεύεσθαι ἐν ται̃ς ὁδοι̃ς αὐτου̃ φυλάσσειν τὰς ἐντολὰς αὐτου̃ καὶ τὰ δικαιώματα καὶ τὰ κρίματα τὰ γεγραμμένα ἐν νόμω̨ Μωυσέως ἵνα συνίη̨ς ἃ ποιήσεις κατὰ πάντα ὅσα ἂν ἐντείλωμαί σοι (Ⅲ)

- Et observa custodias Domini Dei tui, ut ambules in viis ejus : ut custodias cæremonias ejus, et præcepta ejus, et judicia, et testimonia, sicut scriptum est in lege Moysi : ut intelligas universa quæ facis, et quocumque te verteris : (Ⅳ)

- ‫ 3 ׃2 ושמרת את משמרת יהוה אלהיך ללכת בדרכיו לשמר חקתיו מצותיו ומשפטיו ועדותיו ככתוב בתורת משה למען תשכיל את כל אשר תעשה ואת כל אשר תפנה שם ‬ (Ⅴ)

2. 4

That the LORD may continue his word which he spake concerning me, saying, If thy children take heed to their way, to walk before me in truth with all their heart and with all their soul, there shall not fail thee (said he) a man on the throne of Israel.

- et afin que l'Éternel accomplisse cette parole qu'il a prononcée sur moi: Si tes fils prennent garde à leur voie, en marchant avec fidélité devant moi, de tout leur coeur, et de toute leur âme, tu ne manqueras jamais d'un successeur sur le trône d'Israël. (Ⅱ)

- ἵνα στήση̨ κύριος τὸν λόγον αὐτου̃ ὃν ἐλάλησεν λέγων ἐὰν φυλάξωσιν οἱ υἱοί σου τὴν ὁδὸν αὐτω̃ν πορεύεσθαι ἐνώπιον ἐμου̃ ἐν ἀληθεία̨ ἐν ὅλη̨ καρδία̨ αὐτω̃ν καὶ ἐν ὅλη̨ ψυχη̨̃ αὐτω̃ν λέγων οὐκ ἐξολεθρευθήσεταί σοι ἀνὴρ ἐπάνωθεν θρόνου Ισραηλ (Ⅲ)

- ut confirmet Dominus sermones suos quos locutus est de me, dicens : Si custodierint filii tui vias suas, et ambulaverint coram me in veritate, in omni corde suo et in omni anima sua, non auferetur tibi vir de solio Israël. (Ⅳ)

- ‫ 4 ׃2 למען יקים יהוה את דברו אשר דבר עלי לאמר אם ישמרו בניך את דרכם ללכת לפני באמת בכל לבבם ובכל נפשם לאמר לא יכרת לך איש מעל כסא ישראל ‬ (Ⅴ)

Moreover thou knowest also what Joab the son of Zeruiah did to me, and what he did to the two captains of the hosts of Israel, unto Abner the son of Ner, and unto Amasa the son of Jether, whom he slew, and shed the blood of war in peace, and put the blood of war upon his girdle that was about his loins, and in his shoes that were on his feet.

- Tu sais ce que m'a fait Joab, fils de Tseruja, ce qu'il a fait à deux chefs de l'armée d'Israël, à Abner, fils de Ner, et à Amassa, fils de Jéther. Il les a tués; il a versé pendant la paix le sang de la guerre, et il a mis le sang de la guerre sur la ceinture qu'il avait aux reins et sur la chaussure qu'il avait aux pieds. (Ⅱ)

- καί γε σὺ ἔγνως ὅσα ἐποίησέν μοι Ιωαβ υἱὸς Σαρουιας ὅσα ἐποίησεν τοι̃ς δυσὶν ἄρχουσιν τω̃ν δυνάμεων Ισραηλ τω̨̃ Αβεννηρ υἱω̨̃ Νηρ καὶ τω̨̃ Αμεσσαϊ υἱω̨̃ Ιεθερ καὶ ἀπέκτεινεν αὐτοὺς καὶ ἔταξεν τὰ αἵματα πολέμου ἐν εἰρήνη̨ καὶ ἔδωκεν αἱ̃μα ἀθω̨̃ον ἐν τη̨̃ ζώνη̨ αὐτου̃ τη̨̃ ἐν τη̨̃ ὀσφύι αὐτου̃ καὶ ἐν τω̨̃ ὑποδήματι αὐτου̃ τω̨̃ ἐν τω̨̃ ποδὶ αὐτου̃ (Ⅲ)

- Tu quoque nosti quæ fecerit mihi Joab filius Sarviæ, quæ fecerit duobus principibus exercitus Israël, Abner filio Ner, et Amasæ filio Jether : quos occidit, et effudit sanguinem belli in pace, et posuit cruorem prælii in balteo suo qui erat circa lumbos ejus, et in calceamento suo quod erat in pedibus ejus. (Ⅳ)

- ‫ 5 ׃2 וגם אתה ידעת את אשר עשה לי יואב בן צרויה אשר עשה לשני שרי צבאות ישראל לאבנר בן נר ולעמשא בן יתר ויהרגם וישם דמי מלחמה בשלם ויתן דמי מלחמה בחגרתו אשר במתניו ובנעלו אשר ברגליו ‬ (Ⅴ)

Do therefore according to thy wisdom, and let not his hoar head go down to the grave in peace.

- Tu agiras selon ta sagesse, et tu ne laisseras pas ses cheveux blancs descendre en paix dans le séjour des morts. (Ⅱ)

- καὶ ποιήσεις κατὰ τὴν σοφίαν σου καὶ οὐ κατάξεις τὴν πολιὰν αὐτου̃ ἐν εἰρήνη̨ εἰς ἅ̨δου (Ⅲ)

- Facies ergo juxta sapientiam tuam, et non deduces canitiem ejus pacifice ad inferos. (Ⅳ)

- ‫ 6 ׃2 ועשית כחכמתך ולא תורד שיבתו בשלם שאל ס‬ (Ⅴ)

But show kindness unto the sons of Barzillai the Gileadite, and let them be of those that eat at thy table: for so they came to me when I fled because of Absalom thy brother.

- Tu traiteras avec bienveillance les fils de Barzillaï, le Galaadite, et ils seront de ceux qui se nourrissent de ta table; car ils ont agi de la même manière à mon égard, en venant au-devant de moi lorsque je fuyais Absalom, ton frère. (Ⅱ)

- καὶ τοι̃ς υἱοι̃ς Βερζελλι του̃ Γαλααδίτου ποιήσεις ἔλεος καὶ ἔσονται ἐν τοι̃ς ἐσθίουσιν τὴν τράπεζάν σου ὅτι οὕτως ἤγγισάν μοι ἐν τω̨̃ με ἀποδιδράσκειν ἀπὸ προσώπου Αβεσσαλωμ του̃ ἀδελφου̃ σου (Ⅲ)

- Sed et filiis Berzellai Galaaditis reddes gratiam, eruntque comedentes in mensa tua : occurrerunt enim mihi quando fugiebam a facie Absalom fratris tui. (Ⅳ)

- ‫ 7 ׃2 ולבני ברזלי הגלעדי תעשה חסד והיו באכלי שלחנך כי כן קרבו אלי בברחי מפני אבשלום אחיך ‬ (Ⅴ)

And, behold, thou hast with thee Shimei the son of Gera, a Benjamite of Bahurim, which cursed me with a grievous curse in the day when I went to Mahanaim: but he came down to meet me at Jordan, and I sware to him by the LORD, saying, I will not put thee to death with the sword.

- Voici, tu as près de toi Schimeï, fils de Guéra, Benjamite, de Bachurim. Il a prononcé contre moi des malédictions violentes le jour où j'allais à Mahanaïm. Mais il descendit à ma rencontre vers le Jourdain, et je lui jurai par l'Éternel, en disant: Je ne te ferai point mourir par l'épée. (Ⅱ)

- καὶ ἰδοὺ μετὰ σου̃ Σεμεϊ υἱὸς Γηρα υἱὸς του̃ Ιεμενι ἐκ Βαουριμ καὶ αὐτὸς κατηράσατό με κατάραν ὀδυνηρὰν τη̨̃ ἡμέρα̨ ἡ̨̃ ἐπορευόμην εἰς παρεμβολάς καὶ αὐτὸς κατέβη εἰς ἀπαντήν μου εἰς τὸν Ιορδάνην καὶ ὤμοσα αὐτω̨̃ ἐν κυρίω̨ λέγων εἰ θανατώσω σε ἐν ῥομφαία̨ (Ⅲ)

- Habes quoque apud te Semei filium Gera filii Jemini de Bahurim, qui maledixit mihi maledictione pessima quando ibam ad castra : sed quia descendit mihi in occursum cum transirem Jordanem, et juravi ei per Dominum, dicens : Non te interficiam gladio : (Ⅳ)

- ‫ 8 ׃2 והנה עמך שמעי בן גרא בן הימיני מבחרים והוא קללני קללה נמרצת ביום לכתי מחנים והוא ירד לקראתי הירדן ואשבע לו ביהוה לאמר אם אמיתך בחרב ‬ (Ⅴ)

Now therefore hold him not guiltless: for thou art a wise man, and knowest what thou oughtest to do unto him; but his hoar head bring thou down to the grave with blood.

- Maintenant, tu ne le laisseras pas impuni; car tu es un homme sage, et tu sais comment tu dois le traiter. Tu feras descendre ensanglantés ses cheveux blancs dans le séjour des morts. (Ⅱ)

- καὶ οὐ μὴ ἀθω̨ώση̨ς αὐτόν ὅτι ἀνὴρ σοφὸς εἰ̃ σὺ καὶ γνώση̨ ἃ ποιήσεις αὐτω̨̃ καὶ κατάξεις τὴν πολιὰν αὐτου̃ ἐν αἵματι εἰς ἅ̨δου (Ⅲ)

- tu noli pati eum esse innoxium. Vir autem sapiens es, ut scias quæ facies ei : deducesque canos ejus cum sanguine ad inferos. (Ⅳ)

- ‫ 9 ׃2 ועתה אל תנקהו כי איש חכם אתה וידעת את אשר תעשה לו והורדת את שיבתו בדם שאול ‬ (Ⅴ)

So David slept with his fathers, and was buried in the city of David.

- David se coucha avec ses pères, et il fut enterré dans la ville de David. (Ⅱ)

- καὶ ἐκοιμήθη Δαυιδ μετὰ τω̃ν πατέρων αὐτου̃ καὶ ἐτάφη ἐν πόλει Δαυιδ (Ⅲ)

- Dormivit igitur David cum patribus suis, et sepultus est in civitate David. (Ⅳ)

- ‫ 10 ׃2 וישכב דוד עם אבתיו ויקבר בעיר דוד פ‬ (Ⅴ)

2. 11

And the days that David reigned over Israel were forty years: seven years reigned he in Hebron, and thirty and three years reigned he in Jerusalem.

- Le temps que David régna sur Israël fut de quarante ans: à Hébron il régna sept ans, et à Jérusalem il régna trente-trois ans. (Ⅱ)

- καὶ αἱ ἡμέραι ἃς ἐβασίλευσεν Δαυιδ ἐπὶ τὸν Ισραηλ τεσσαράκοντα ἔτη ἐν Χεβρων ἐβασίλευσεν ἔτη ἑπτὰ καὶ ἐν Ιερουσαλημ τριάκοντα τρία ἔτη (Ⅲ)

- Dies autem quibus regnavit David super Israël, quadraginta anni sunt : in Hebron regnavit septem annis ; in Jerusalem, triginta tribus.\ (Ⅳ)

- ‫ 11 ׃2 והימים אשר מלך דוד על ישראל ארבעים שנה בחברון מלך שבע שנים ובירושלם מלך שלשים ושלש שנים ‬ (Ⅴ)

Then sat Solomon upon the throne of David his father; and his kingdom was established greatly.

- Salomon s'assit sur le trône de David, son père, et son règne fut très affermi. (Ⅱ)

- καὶ Σαλωμων ἐκάθισεν ἐπὶ του̃ θρόνου Δαυιδ του̃ πατρὸς αὐτου̃ υἱὸς ἐτω̃ν δώδεκα καὶ ἡτοιμάσθη ἡ βασιλεία αὐτου̃ σφόδρα (Ⅲ)

- Salomon autem sedit super thronum David patris sui, et firmatum est regnum ejus nimis. (Ⅳ)

- ‫ 12 ׃2 ושלמה ישב על כסא דוד אביו ותכן מלכתו מאד ‬ (Ⅴ)

2. 13

And Adonijah the son of Haggith came to Bathsheba the mother of Solomon. And she said, Comest thou peaceably? And he said, Peaceably.

- Adonija, fils de Haggith, alla vers Bath Schéba, mère de Salomon. Elle lui dit: Viens-tu dans des intentions paisibles? Il répondit: Oui. (Ⅱ)

- καὶ εἰση̃λθεν Αδωνιας υἱὸς Αγγιθ πρὸς Βηρσαβεε μητέρα Σαλωμων καὶ προσεκύνησεν αὐτη̨̃ ἡ δὲ εἰ̃πεν εἰρήνη ἡ εἴσοδός σου καὶ εἰ̃πεν εἰρήνη (Ⅲ)

- Et ingressus est Adonias filius Haggith ad Bethsabee matrem Salomonis. Quæ dixit ei : Pacificusne est ingressus tuus ? Qui respondit : Pacificus. (Ⅳ)

- ‫ 13 ׃2 ויבא אדניהו בן חגית‪[1]‬ אל בת שבע אם שלמה ותאמר השלום באך ויאמר שלום ‬ (Ⅴ)

2. 14

He said moreover, I have somewhat to say unto thee. And she said, Say on.

- Et il ajouta: J'ai un mot à te dire. Elle dit: Parle! (Ⅱ)

- λόγος μοι πρὸς σέ καὶ εἰ̃πεν αὐτω̨̃ λάλησον (Ⅲ)

- Addiditque : Sermo mihi est ad te. Cui ait : Loquere. Et ille : (Ⅳ)

- ‫ 14 ׃2 ויאמר דבר לי אליך ותאמר דבר ‬ (Ⅴ)

2. 15

And he said, Thou knowest that the kingdom was mine, and that all Israel set their faces on me, that I should reign: howbeit the kingdom is turned about, and is become my brother's: for it was his from the LORD.

- Et il dit: Tu sais que la royauté m'appartenait, et que tout Israël portait ses regards sur moi pour me faire régner. Mais la royauté a tourné, et elle est échue à mon frère, parce que l'Éternel la lui a donnée. (Ⅱ)

- καὶ εἰ̃πεν αὐτη̨̃ σὺ οἰ̃δας ὅτι ἐμοὶ ἠ̃ν ἡ βασιλεία καὶ ἐπ' ἐμὲ ἔθετο πα̃ς Ισραηλ τὸ πρόσωπον αὐτου̃ εἰς βασιλέα καὶ ἐστράφη ἡ βασιλεία καὶ ἐγενήθη τω̨̃ ἀδελφω̨̃ μου ὅτι παρὰ κυρίου ἐγένετο αὐτω̨̃ (Ⅲ)

- Tu, inquit, nosti, quia meum erat regnum, et me præposuerat omnis Israël sibi in regem : sed translatum est regnum, et factum est fratris mei : a Domino enim constitutum est ei. (Ⅳ)

- ‫ 15 ׃2 ויאמר את ידעת כי לי היתה המלוכה ועלי שמו כל ישראל פניהם למלך ותסב המלוכה ותהי לאחי כי מיהוה היתה לו ‬ (Ⅴ)

2. 16

And now I ask one petition of thee, deny me not. And she said unto him, Say on.

- Maintenant, je te demande une chose: ne me la refuse pas! Elle lui répondit: Parle! (Ⅱ)

- καὶ νυ̃ν αἴτησιν μίαν ἐγὼ αἰτου̃μαι παρὰ σου̃ μὴ ἀποστρέψη̨ς τὸ πρόσωπόν σου καὶ εἰ̃πεν αὐτω̨̃ Βηρσαβεε λάλει (Ⅲ)

- Nunc ergo petitionem unam precor a te : ne confundas faciem meam. Quæ dixit ad eum : Loquere. (Ⅳ)

- ‫ 16 ׃2 ועתה שאלה אחת אנכי שאל מאתך אל תשבי את פני ותאמר אליו דבר ‬ (Ⅴ)

2. 17

And he said, Speak, I pray thee, unto Solomon the king, (for he will not say thee nay,) that he give me Abishag the Shunammite to wife.

- Et il dit: Dis, je te prie, au roi Salomon-car il ne te le refusera pas-qu'il me donne pour femme Abischag, la Sunamite. (Ⅱ)

- καὶ εἰ̃πεν αὐτη̨̃ εἰπὸν δὴ πρὸς Σαλωμων τὸν βασιλέα ὅτι οὐκ ἀποστρέψει τὸ πρόσωπον αὐτου̃ ἀπὸ σου̃ καὶ δώσει μοι τὴν Αβισακ τὴν Σωμανι̃τιν εἰς γυναι̃κα (Ⅲ)

- Et ille ait : Precor ut dicas Salomoni regi (neque enim negare tibi quidquam potest) ut det mihi Abisag Sunamitidem uxorem. (Ⅳ)

- ‫ 17 ׃2 ויאמר אמרי נא לשלמה המלך כי לא ישיב את פניך ויתן לי את אבישג השונמית לאשה ‬ (Ⅴ)

2. 18

And Bathsheba said, Well; I will speak for thee unto the king.

- Bath Schéba dit: Bien! je parlerai pour toi au roi. (Ⅱ)

- καὶ εἰ̃πεν Βηρσαβεε καλω̃ς ἐγὼ λαλήσω περὶ σου̃ τω̨̃ βασιλει̃ (Ⅲ)

- Et ait Bethsabee : Bene : ego loquar pro te regi. (Ⅳ)

- ‫ 18 ׃2 ותאמר בת שבע טוב אנכי אדבר עליך אל המלך ‬ (Ⅴ)

2. 19

Bathsheba therefore went unto king Solomon, to speak unto him for Adonijah. And the king rose up to meet her, and bowed himself unto her, and sat down on his throne, and caused a seat to be set for the king's mother; and she sat on his right hand.

- Bath Schéba se rendit auprès du roi Salomon, pour lui parler en faveur d'Adonija. Le roi se leva pour aller à sa rencontre, il se prosterna devant elle, et il s'assit sur son trône. On plaça un siège pour la mère du roi, et elle s'assit à sa droite. (Ⅱ)

- καὶ εἰση̃λθεν Βηρσαβεε πρὸς τὸν βασιλέα Σαλωμων λαλη̃σαι αὐτω̨̃ περὶ Αδωνιου καὶ ἐξανέστη ὁ βασιλεὺς εἰς ἀπαντὴν αὐτη̨̃ καὶ κατεφίλησεν αὐτὴν καὶ ἐκάθισεν ἐπὶ του̃ θρόνου αὐτου̃ καὶ ἐτέθη θρόνος τη̨̃ μητρὶ του̃ βασιλέως καὶ ἐκάθισεν ἐκ δεξιω̃ν αὐτου̃ (Ⅲ)

- Venit ergo Bethsabee ad regem Salomonem ut loqueretur ei pro Adonia : et surrexit rex in occursum ejus, adoravitque eam, et sedit super thronum suum : positusque est thronus matri regis, quæ sedit ad dexteram ejus. (Ⅳ)

- ‫ 19 ׃2 ותבא בת שבע אל המלך שלמה לדבר לו על אדניהו ויקם המלך לקראתה וישתחו לה וישב על כסאו וישם כסא לאם המלך ותשב לימינו ‬ (Ⅴ)

2. 20

Then she said, I desire one small petition of thee; I pray thee, say me not nay. And the king said unto her, Ask on, my mother: for I will not say thee nay.

- Puis elle dit: J'ai une petite demande à te faire: ne me la refuse pas! Et le roi lui dit: Demande, ma mère, car je ne te refuserai pas. (Ⅱ)

- καὶ εἰ̃πεν αὐτω̨̃ αἴτησιν μίαν μικρὰν ἐγὼ αἰτου̃μαι παρὰ σου̃ μὴ ἀποστρέψη̨ς τὸ πρόσωπόν σου καὶ εἰ̃πεν αὐτη̨̃ ὁ βασιλεύς αἴτησαι μη̃τερ ἐμή ὅτι οὐκ ἀποστρέψω σε (Ⅲ)

- Dixitque ei : Petitionem unam parvulam ego deprecor a te : ne confundas faciem meam. Et dixit ei rex : Pete, mater mea : neque enim fas est ut avertam faciem tuam. (Ⅳ)

- ‫ 20 ׃2 ותאמר שאלה אחת קטנה אנכי שאלת מאתך אל תשב את פני ויאמר לה המלך שאלי אמי כי לא אשיב את פניך ‬ (Ⅴ)

And she said, Let Abishag the Shunammite be given to Adonijah thy brother to wife.

- Elle dit: Qu'Abischag, la Sunamite, soit donnée pour femme à Adonija, ton frère. (Ⅱ)

- καὶ εἰ̃πεν δοθήτω δὲ Αβισακ ἡ Σωμανι̃τις τω̨̃ Αδωνια τω̨̃ ἀδελφω̨̃ σου εἰς γυναι̃κα (Ⅲ)

- Quæ ait : Detur Abisag Sunamitis Adoniæ fratri tuo uxor. (Ⅳ)

- ‫ 21 ׃2 ותאמר יתן את אבישג השנמית לאדניהו אחיך לאשה ‬ (Ⅴ)

And king Solomon answered and said unto his mother, And why dost thou ask Abishag the Shunammite for Adonijah? ask for him the kingdom also; for he is mine elder brother; even for him, and for Abiathar the priest, and for Joab the son of Zeruiah.

- Le roi Salomon répondit à sa mère: Pourquoi demandes-tu Abischag, la Sunamite, pour Adonija? Demande donc la royauté pour lui, -car il est mon frère aîné, -pour lui, pour le sacrificateur Abiathar, et pour Joab, fils de Tseruja! (Ⅱ)

- καὶ ἀπεκρίθη Σαλωμων ὁ βασιλεὺς καὶ εἰ̃πεν τη̨̃ μητρὶ αὐτου̃ καὶ ἵνα τί σὺ ἤ̨τησαι τὴν Αβισακ τω̨̃ Αδωνια καὶ αἴτησαι αὐτω̨̃ τὴν βασιλείαν ὅτι οὑ̃τος ἀδελφός μου ὁ μέγας ὑπὲρ ἐμέ καὶ αὐτω̨̃ Αβιαθαρ ὁ ἱερεὺς καὶ αὐτω̨̃ Ιωαβ ὁ υἱὸς Σαρουιας ὁ ἀρχιστράτηγος ἑται̃ρος (Ⅲ)

- Responditque rex Salomon, et dixit matri suæ : Quare postulas Abisag Sunamitidem Adoniæ ? postula ei et regnum : ipse est enim frater meus major me, et habet Abiathar sacerdotem, et Joab filium Sarviæ. (Ⅳ)

- ‫ 22 ׃2 ויען המלך שלמה ויאמר לאמו ולמה את שאלת את אבישג השנמית לאדניהו ושאלי לו את המלוכה כי הוא אחי הגדול ממני ולו ולאביתר הכהן וליואב בן צרויה פ‬ (Ⅴ)

2. 23

Then king Solomon sware by the LORD, saying, God do so to me, and more also, if Adonijah have not spoken this word against his own life.

- Alors le roi Salomon jura par l'Éternel, en disant: Que Dieu me traite dans toute sa rigueur, si ce n'est pas au prix de sa vie qu'Adonija a prononcé cette parole! (Ⅱ)

- καὶ ὤμοσεν ὁ βασιλεὺς Σαλωμων κατὰ του̃ κυρίου λέγων τάδε ποιήσαι μοι ὁ θεὸς καὶ τάδε προσθείη ὅτι κατὰ τη̃ς ψυχη̃ς αὐτου̃ ἐλάλησεν Αδωνιας τὸν λόγον του̃τον (Ⅲ)

- Juravit itaque rex Salomon per Dominum, dicens : Hæc faciat mihi Deus, et hæc addat, quia contra animam suam locutus est Adonias verbum hoc. (Ⅳ)

- ‫ 23 ׃2 וישבע המלך שלמה ביהוה לאמר כה יעשה לי אלהים וכה יוסיף כי בנפשו דבר אדניהו את הדבר הזה ‬ (Ⅴ)

2. 24

Now therefore, as the LORD liveth, which hath established me, and set me on the throne of David my father, and who hath made me an house, as he promised, Adonijah shall be put to death this day.

- Maintenant, l'Éternel est vivant, lui qui m'a affermi et m'a fait asseoir sur le trône de David, mon père, et qui m'a fait une maison selon sa promesse! aujourd'hui Adonija mourra. (Ⅱ)

- καὶ νυ̃ν ζη̨̃ κύριος ὃς ἡτοίμασέν με καὶ ἔθετό με ἐπὶ τὸν θρόνον Δαυιδ του̃ πατρός μου καὶ αὐτὸς ἐποίησέν μοι οἰ̃κον καθὼς ἐλάλησεν κύριος ὅτι σήμερον θανατωθήσεται Αδωνιας (Ⅲ)

- Et nunc vivit Dominus, qui firmavit me, et collocavit me super solium David patris mei, et qui fecit mihi domum, sicut locutus est, quia hodie occidetur Adonias. (Ⅳ)

- ‫ 24 ׃2 ועתה חי יהוה אשר הכינני *ויושיביני **ויושיבני על כסא דוד אבי ואשר עשה לי בית כאשר דבר כי היום יומת אדניהו ‬ (Ⅴ)

2. 25

And king Solomon sent by the hand of Benaiah the son of Jehoiada; and he fell upon him that he died.

- Et le roi Salomon envoya Benaja, fils de Jehojada, qui le frappa; et Adonija mourut. (Ⅱ)

- καὶ ἐξαπέστειλεν Σαλωμων ὁ βασιλεὺς ἐν χειρὶ Βαναιου υἱου̃ Ιωδαε καὶ ἀνει̃λεν αὐτόν καὶ ἀπέθανεν Αδωνιας ἐν τη̨̃ ἡμέρα̨ ἐκείνη̨ (Ⅲ)

- Misitque rex Salomon per manum Banaiæ filii Jojadæ, qui interfecit eum, et mortuus est. (Ⅳ)

- ‫ 25 ׃2 וישלח המלך שלמה ביד בניהו בן יהוידע ויפגע בו וימת ס‬ (Ⅴ)

2. 26

And unto Abiathar the priest said the king, Get thee to Anathoth, unto thine own fields; for thou art worthy of death: but I will not at this time put thee to death, because thou barest the ark of the LORD God before David my father, and because thou hast been afflicted in all wherein my father was afflicted.

- Le roi dit ensuite au sacrificateur Abiathar: Va-t'en à Anathoth dans tes terres, car tu mérites la mort; mais je ne te ferai pas mourir aujourd'hui, parce que tu as porté l'arche du Seigneur l'Éternel devant David, mon père, et parce que tu as eu part à toutes les souffrances de mon père. (Ⅱ)

- καὶ τω̨̃ Αβιαθαρ τω̨̃ ἱερει̃ εἰ̃πεν ὁ βασιλεύς ἀπότρεχε σὺ εἰς Αναθωθ εἰς ἀγρόν σου ὅτι ἀνὴρ θανάτου εἰ̃ σὺ ἐν τη̨̃ ἡμέρα̨ ταύτη̨ καὶ οὐ θανατώσω σε ὅτι ἠ̃ρας τὴν κιβωτὸν τη̃ς διαθήκης κυρίου ἐνώπιον του̃ πατρός μου καὶ ὅτι ἐκακουχήθης ἐν ἅπασιν οἱ̃ς ἐκακουχήθη ὁ πατήρ μου (Ⅲ)

- Abiathar quoque sacerdoti dixit rex : Vade in Anathoth ad agrum tuum : equidem vir mortis es : sed hodie te non interficiam, quia portasti arcam Domini Dei coram David patre meo, et sustinuisti laborem in omnibus in quibus laboravit pater meus. (Ⅳ)

- ‫ 26 ׃2 ולאביתר הכהן אמר המלך ענתת לך על שדיך כי איש מות אתה וביום הזה לא אמיתך כי נשאת את ארון אדני יהוה לפני דוד אבי וכי התענית בכל אשר התענה אבי ‬ (Ⅴ)

So Solomon thrust out Abiathar from being priest unto the LORD; that he might fulfil the word of the LORD, which he spake concerning the house of Eli in Shiloh.

- Ainsi Salomon dépouilla Abiathar de ses fonctions de sacrificateur de l'Éternel, afin d'accomplir la parole que l'Éternel avait prononcée sur la maison d'Éli à Silo. (Ⅱ)

- καὶ ἐξέβαλεν Σαλωμων τὸν Αβιαθαρ του̃ μὴ εἰ̃ναι ἱερέα του̃ κυρίου πληρωθη̃ναι τὸ ῥη̃μα κυρίου ὃ ἐλάλησεν ἐπὶ τὸν οἰ̃κον Ηλι ἐν Σηλωμ (Ⅲ)

- Ejecit ergo Salomon Abiathar ut non esset sacerdos Domini, ut impleretur sermo Domini quem locutus est super domum Heli in Silo.\ (Ⅳ)

- ‫ 27 ׃2 ויגרש שלמה את אביתר מהיות כהן ליהוה למלא את דבר יהוה אשר דבר על בית עלי בשלה פ‬ (Ⅴ)

2. 28

Then tidings came to Joab: for Joab had turned after Adonijah, though he turned not after Absalom. And Joab fled unto the tabernacle of the LORD, and caught hold on the horns of the altar.

- Le bruit en parvint à Joab, qui avait suivi le parti d'Adonija, quoiqu'il n'eût pas suivi le parti d'Absalom. Et Joab se réfugia vers la tente de l'Éternel, et saisit les cornes de l'autel. (Ⅱ)

- καὶ ἡ ἀκοὴ ἠ̃λθεν ἕως Ιωαβ του̃ υἱου̃ Σαρουιας ὅτι Ιωαβ ἠ̃ν κεκλικὼς ὀπίσω Αδωνιου καὶ ὀπίσω Σαλωμων οὐκ ἔκλινεν καὶ ἔφυγεν Ιωαβ εἰς τὸ σκήνωμα του̃ κυρίου καὶ κατέσχεν τω̃ν κεράτων του̃ θυσιαστηρίου (Ⅲ)

- Venit autem nuntius ad Joab, quod Joab declinasset post Adoniam, et post Salomonem non declinasset : fugit ergo Joab in tabernaculum Domini, et apprehendit cornu altaris. (Ⅳ)

- ‫ 28 ׃2 והשמעה באה עד יואב כי יואב נטה אחרי אדניה ואחרי אבשלום לא נטה וינס יואב אל אהל יהוה ויחזק בקרנות המזבח ‬ (Ⅴ)

2. 29

And it was told king Solomon that Joab was fled unto the tabernacle of the LORD; and, behold, he is by the altar. Then Solomon sent Benaiah the son of Jehoiada, saying, Go, fall upon him.

- On annonça au roi Salomon que Joab s'était réfugié vers la tente de l'Éternel, et qu'il était auprès de l'autel. Et Salomon envoya Benaja, fils de Jehojada, en lui disant: Va, frappe-le. (Ⅱ)

- καὶ ἀπηγγέλη τω̨̃ Σαλωμων λέγοντες ὅτι ἔφυγεν Ιωαβ εἰς τὴν σκηνὴν του̃ κυρίου καὶ ἰδοὺ κατέχει τω̃ν κεράτων του̃ θυσιαστηρίου καὶ ἀπέστειλεν Σαλωμων πρὸς Ιωαβ λέγων τί γέγονέν σοι ὅτι πέφευγας εἰς τὸ θυσιαστήριον καὶ εἰ̃πεν Ιωαβ ὅτι ἐφοβήθην ἀπὸ προσώπου σου καὶ ἔφυγον πρὸς κύριον καὶ ἀπέστειλεν Σαλωμων ὁ βασιλεὺς τὸν Βαναιου υἱὸν Ιωδαε λέγων πορεύου καὶ ἄνελε αὐτὸν καὶ θάψον αὐτόν (Ⅲ)

- Nuntiatumque est regi Salomoni quod fugisset Joab in tabernaculum Domini, et esset juxta altare : misitque Salomon Banaiam filium Jojadæ, dicens : Vade, interfice eum. (Ⅳ)

- ‫ 29 ׃2 ויגד למלך שלמה כי נס יואב אל אהל יהוה והנה אצל המזבח וישלח שלמה את בניהו בן יהוידע לאמר לך פגע בו ‬ (Ⅴ)

2. 30

And Benaiah came to the tabernacle of the LORD, and said unto him, Thus saith the king, Come forth. And he said, Nay; but I will die here. And Benaiah brought the king word again, saying, Thus said Joab, and thus he answered me.

- Benaja arriva à la tente de l'Éternel, et dit à Joab: Sors! c'est le roi qui l'ordonne. Mais il répondit: Non! je veux mourir ici. Benaja rapporta la chose au roi, en disant: C'est ainsi qu'a parlé Joab, et c'est ainsi qu'il m'a répondu. (Ⅱ)

- καὶ ἠ̃λθεν Βαναιου υἱὸς Ιωδαε πρὸς Ιωαβ εἰς τὴν σκηνὴν του̃ κυρίου καὶ εἰ̃πεν αὐτω̨̃ τάδε λέγει ὁ βασιλεύς ἔξελθε καὶ εἰ̃πεν Ιωαβ οὐκ ἐκπορεύομαι ὅτι ὡ̃δε ἀποθανου̃μαι καὶ ἀπέστρεψεν Βαναιας υἱὸς Ιωδαε καὶ εἰ̃πεν τω̨̃ βασιλει̃ λέγων τάδε λελάληκεν Ιωαβ καὶ τάδε ἀποκέκριταί μοι (Ⅲ)

- Et venit Banaias ad tabernaculum Domini, et dixit ei : Hæc dicit rex : Egredere. Qui ait : Non egrediar, sed hic moriar. Renuntiavit Banaias regi sermonem, dicens : Hæc locutus est Joab, et hæc respondit mihi. (Ⅳ)

- ‫ 30 ׃2 ויבא בניהו אל אהל יהוה ויאמר אליו כה אמר המלך צא ויאמר לא כי פה אמות וישב בניהו את המלך דבר לאמר כה דבר יואב וכה ענני ‬ (Ⅴ)

2. 31

And the king said unto him, Do as he hath said, and fall upon him, and bury him; that thou mayest take away the innocent blood, which Joab shed, from me, and from the house of my father.

- Le roi dit à Benaja: Fais comme il a dit, frappe-le, et enterre-le; tu ôteras ainsi de dessus moi et de dessus la maison de mon père le sang que Joab a répandu sans cause. (Ⅱ)

- καὶ εἰ̃πεν αὐτω̨̃ ὁ βασιλεύς πορεύου καὶ ποίησον αὐτω̨̃ καθὼς εἴρηκεν καὶ ἄνελε αὐτὸν καὶ θάψεις αὐτὸν καὶ ἐξαρει̃ς σήμερον τὸ αἱ̃μα ὃ δωρεὰν ἐξέχεεν Ιωαβ ἀπ' ἐμου̃ καὶ ἀπὸ του̃ οἴκου του̃ πατρός μου (Ⅲ)

- Dixitque ei rex : Fac sicut locutus est, et interfice eum, et sepeli : et amovebis sanguinem innocentem qui effusus est a Joab, a me, et a domo patris mei. (Ⅳ)

- ‫ 31 ׃2 ויאמר לו המלך עשה כאשר דבר ופגע בו וקברתו והסירת דמי חנם אשר שפך יואב מעלי ומעל בית אבי ‬ (Ⅴ)

2. 32

And the LORD shall return his blood upon his own head, who fell upon two men more righteous and better than he, and slew them with the sword, my father David not knowing thereof, to wit, Abner the son of Ner, captain of the host of Israel, and Amasa the son of Jether, captain of the host of Judah.

- L'Éternel fera retomber son sang sur sa tête, parce qu'il a frappé deux hommes plus justes et meilleurs que lui et les a tués par l'épée, sans que mon père David le sût: Abner, fils de Ner, chef de l'armée d'Israël, et Amasa, fils de Jéther, chef de l'armée de Juda. (Ⅱ)

- καὶ ἀπέστρεψεν κύριος τὸ αἱ̃μα τη̃ς ἀδικίας αὐτου̃ εἰς κεφαλὴν αὐτου̃ ὡς ἀπήντησεν τοι̃ς δυσὶν ἀνθρώποις τοι̃ς δικαίοις καὶ ἀγαθοι̃ς ὑπὲρ αὐτὸν καὶ ἀπέκτεινεν αὐτοὺς ἐν ῥομφαία̨ καὶ ὁ πατήρ μου Δαυιδ οὐκ ἔγνω τὸ αἱ̃μα αὐτω̃ν τὸν Αβεννηρ υἱὸν Νηρ ἀρχιστράτηγον Ισραηλ καὶ τὸν Αμεσσα υἱὸν Ιεθερ ἀρχιστράτηγον Ιουδα (Ⅲ)

- Et reddet Dominus sanguinem ejus super caput ejus, quia interfecit duos viros justos, melioresque se : et occidit eos gladio, patre meo David ignorante, Abner filium Ner principem militiæ Israël, et Amasam filium Jether principem exercitus Juda : (Ⅳ)

- ‫ 32 ׃2 והשיב יהוה את דמו על ראשו אשר פגע בשני אנשים צדקים וטבים ממנו ויהרגם בחרב ואבי דוד לא ידע את אבנר בן נר שר צבא ישראל ואת עמשא בן יתר שר צבא יהודה ‬ (Ⅴ)

2. 33

Their blood shall therefore return upon the head of Joab, and upon the head of his seed for ever: but upon David, and upon his seed, and upon his house, and upon his throne, shall there be peace for ever from the LORD.

- Leur sang retombera sur la tête de Joab et sur la tête de ses descendants à perpétuité; mais il y aura paix à toujours, de par l'Éternel, pour David, pour sa postérité, pour sa maison et pour son trône. (Ⅱ)

- καὶ ἐπεστράφη τὰ αἵματα αὐτω̃ν εἰς κεφαλὴν αὐτου̃ καὶ εἰς κεφαλὴν του̃ σπέρματος αὐτου̃ εἰς τὸν αἰω̃να καὶ τω̨̃ Δαυιδ καὶ τω̨̃ σπέρματι αὐτου̃ καὶ τω̨̃ οἴκω̨ αὐτου̃ καὶ τω̨̃ θρόνω̨ αὐτου̃ γένοιτο εἰρήνη ἕως αἰω̃νος παρὰ κυρίου (Ⅲ)

- et revertetur sanguis illorum in caput Joab, et in caput seminis ejus in sempiternum. David autem et semini ejus, et domui, et throno illius, sit pax usque in æternum a Domino. (Ⅳ)

- ‫ 33 ׃2 ושבו דמיהם בראש יואב ובראש זרעו לעלם ולדוד ולזרעו ולביתו ולכסאו יהיה שלום עד עולם מעם יהוה ‬ (Ⅴ)

2. 34

So Benaiah the son of Jehoiada went up, and fell upon him, and slew him: and he was buried in his own house in the wilderness.

- Benaja, fils de Jehojada, monta, frappa Joab, et le fit mourir. Il fut enterré dans sa maison, au désert. (Ⅱ)

- καὶ ἀπήντησεν Βαναιου υἱὸς Ιωδαε τω̨̃ Ιωαβ καὶ ἐθανάτωσεν αὐτὸν καὶ ἔθαψεν αὐτὸν ἐν τω̨̃ οἴκω̨ αὐτου̃ ἐν τη̨̃ ἐρήμω̨ (Ⅲ)

- Ascendit itaque Banaias filius Jojadæ, et aggressus eum interfecit : sepultusque est in domo sua in deserto. (Ⅳ)

- ‫ 34 ׃2 ויעל בניהו בן יהוידע ויפגע בו וימתהו ויקבר בביתו במדבר ‬ (Ⅴ)

2. 35

And the king put Benaiah the son of Jehoiada in his room over the host: and Zadok the priest did the king put in the room of Abiathar.

- Le roi mit à la tête de l'armée Benaja, fils de Jehojada, en remplacement de Joab, et il mit le sacrificateur Tsadok à la place d'Abiathar. (Ⅱ)

- καὶ ἔδωκεν ὁ βασιλεὺς τὸν Βαναιου υἱὸν Ιωδαε ἀντ' αὐτου̃ ἐπὶ τὴν στρατηγίαν καὶ ἡ βασιλεία κατωρθου̃το ἐν Ιερουσαλημ καὶ τὸν Σαδωκ τὸν ἱερέα ἔδωκεν ὁ βασιλεὺς εἰς ἱερέα πρω̃τον ἀντὶ Αβιαθαρ (Ⅲ)

- Et constituit rex Banaiam filium Jojadæ pro eo super exercitum, et Sadoc sacerdotem posuit pro Abiathar.\ (Ⅳ)

- ‫ 35 ׃2 ויתן המלך את בניהו בן יהוידע תחתיו על הצבא ואת צדוק הכהן נתן המלך תחת אביתר ‬ (Ⅴ)

2. 36

And the king sent and called for Shimei, and said unto him, Build thee an house in Jerusalem, and dwell there, and go not forth thence any whither.

- Le roi fit appeler Schimeï, et lui dit: Bâtis-toi une maison à Jérusalem; tu y demeureras, et tu n'en sortiras point pour aller de côté ou d'autre. (Ⅱ)

- καὶ ἐκάλεσεν ὁ βασιλεὺς τὸν Σεμεϊ καὶ εἰ̃πεν αὐτω̨̃ οἰκοδόμησον σεαυτω̨̃ οἰ̃κον ἐν Ιερουσαλημ καὶ κάθου ἐκει̃ καὶ οὐκ ἐξελεύση̨ ἐκει̃θεν οὐδαμου̃ (Ⅲ)

- Misit quoque rex, et vocavit Semei : dixitque ei : Ædifica tibi domum in Jerusalem, et habita ibi : et non egredieris inde huc atque illuc. (Ⅳ)

- ‫ 36 ׃2 וישלח המלך ויקרא לשמעי ויאמר לו בנה לך בית בירושלם וישבת שם ולא תצא משם אנה ואנה ‬ (Ⅴ)

2. 37

For it shall be, that on the day thou goest out, and passest over the brook Kidron, thou shalt know for certain that thou shalt surely die: thy blood shall be upon thine own head.

- Sache bien que tu mourras le jour où tu sortiras et passeras le torrent de Cédron; ton sang sera sur ta tête. (Ⅱ)

- καὶ ἔσται ἐν τη̨̃ ἡμέρα̨ τη̃ς ἐξόδου σου καὶ διαβήση̨ τὸν χειμάρρουν Κεδρων γινώσκων γνώση̨ ὅτι θανάτω̨ ἀποθανη̨̃ τὸ αἱ̃μά σου ἔσται ἐπὶ τὴν κεφαλήν σου καὶ ὥρκισεν αὐτὸν ὁ βασιλεὺς ἐν τη̨̃ ἡμέρα̨ ἐκείνη̨ (Ⅲ)

- Quacumque autem die egressus fueris, et transieris torrentem Cedron, scito te interficiendum : sanguis tuus erit super caput tuum. (Ⅳ)

- ‫ 37 ׃2 והיה ביום צאתך ועברת את נחל קדרון ידע תדע כי מות תמות דמך יהיה בראשך ‬ (Ⅴ)

2. 38

And Shimei said unto the king, The saying is good: as my lord the king hath said, so will thy servant do. And Shimei dwelt in Jerusalem many days.

- Schimeï répondit au roi: C'est bien! ton serviteur fera ce que dit mon seigneur le roi. Et Schimeï demeura longtemps à Jérusalem. (Ⅱ)

- καὶ εἰ̃πεν Σεμεϊ πρὸς τὸν βασιλέα ἀγαθὸν τὸ ῥη̃μα ὃ ἐλάλησας κύριέ μου βασιλευ̃ οὕτω ποιήσει ὁ δου̃λός σου καὶ ἐκάθισεν Σεμεϊ ἐν Ιερουσαλημ τρία ἔτη (Ⅲ)

- Dixitque Semei regi : Bonus sermo : sicut locutus est dominus meus rex, sic faciet servus tuus. Habitavit itaque Semei in Jerusalem diebus multis. (Ⅳ)

- ‫ 38 ׃2 ויאמר שמעי למלך טוב הדבר כאשר דבר אדני המלך כן יעשה עבדך וישב שמעי בירושלם ימים רבים ס‬ (Ⅴ)

2. 39

And it came to pass at the end of three years, that two of the servants of Shimei ran away unto Achish son of Maachah king of Gath. And they told Shimei, saying, Behold, thy servants be in Gath.

- Au bout de trois ans, il arriva que deux serviteurs de Schimeï s'enfuirent chez Akisch, fils de Maaca, roi de Gath. On le rapporta à Schimeï, en disant: Voici, tes serviteurs sont à Gath. (Ⅱ)

- καὶ ἐγενήθη μετὰ τρία ἔτη καὶ ἀπέδρασαν δύο δου̃λοι του̃ Σεμεϊ πρὸς Αγχους υἱὸν Μααχα βασιλέα Γεθ καὶ ἀπηγγέλη τω̨̃ Σεμεϊ λέγοντες ἰδοὺ οἱ δου̃λοί σου ἐν Γεθ (Ⅲ)

- Factum est autem post annos tres ut fugerent servi Semei ad Achis filium Maacha regem Geth : nuntiatumque est Semei quod servi ejus issent in Geth. (Ⅳ)

- ‫ 39 ׃2 ויהי מקץ שלש שנים ויברחו שני עבדים לשמעי אל אכיש בן מעכה מלך גת ויגידו לשמעי לאמר הנה עבדיך בגת ‬ (Ⅴ)

2. 40

And Shimei arose, and saddled his ass, and went to Gath to Achish to seek his servants: and Shimei went, and brought his servants from Gath.

- Schimeï se leva, sella son âne, et s'en alla à Gath chez Akisch pour chercher ses serviteurs. Schimeï donc s'en alla, et il ramena de Gath ses serviteurs. (Ⅱ)

- καὶ ἀνέστη Σεμεϊ καὶ ἐπέσαξε τὴν ὄνον αὐτου̃ καὶ ἐπορεύθη εἰς Γεθ πρὸς Αγχους του̃ ἐκζητη̃σαι τοὺς δούλους αὐτου̃ καὶ ἐπορεύθη Σεμεϊ καὶ ἤγαγεν τοὺς δούλους αὐτου̃ ἐκ Γεθ (Ⅲ)

- Et surrexit Semei, et stravit asinum suum, ivitque ad Achis in Geth ad requirendum servos suos, et adduxit eos de Geth. (Ⅳ)

- ‫ 40 ׃2 ויקם שמעי ויחבש את חמרו וילך גתה אל אכיש לבקש את עבדיו וילך שמעי ויבא את עבדיו מגת ‬ (Ⅴ)

And it was told Solomon that Shimei had gone from Jerusalem to Gath, and was come again.

- On informa Salomon que Schimeï était allé de Jérusalem à Gath, et qu'il était de retour. (Ⅱ)

- καὶ ἀπηγγέλη τω̨̃ Σαλωμων λέγοντες ὅτι ἐπορεύθη Σεμεϊ ἐξ Ιερουσαλημ εἰς Γεθ καὶ ἀπέστρεψεν τοὺς δούλους αὐτου̃ (Ⅲ)

- Nuntiatum est autem Salomoni quod isset Semei in Geth de Jerusalem, et rediisset. (Ⅳ)

- ‫ 41 ׃2 ויגד לשלמה כי הלך שמעי מירושלם גת וישב ‬ (Ⅴ)

2. 42

And the king sent and called for Shimei, and said unto him, Did I not make thee to swear by the LORD, and protested unto thee, saying, Know for a certain, on the day thou goest out, and walkest abroad any whither, that thou shalt surely die? and thou saidst unto me, The word that I have heard is good.

- Le roi fit appeler Schimeï, et lui dit: Ne t'avais-je pas fait jurer par l'Éternel, et ne t'avais-je pas fait cette déclaration formelle: Sache bien que tu mourras le jour où tu sortiras pour aller de côté ou d'autre? Et ne m'as-tu pas répondu: C'est bien! j'ai entendu? (Ⅱ)

- καὶ ἀπέστειλεν ὁ βασιλεὺς καὶ ἐκάλεσεν τὸν Σεμεϊ καὶ εἰ̃πεν πρὸς αὐτόν οὐχὶ ὥρκισά σε κατὰ του̃ κυρίου καὶ ἐπεμαρτυράμην σοι λέγων ἐν ἡ̨̃ ἂν ἡμέρα̨ ἐξέλθη̨ς ἐξ Ιερουσαλημ καὶ πορευθη̨̃ς εἰς δεξιὰ ἢ εἰς ἀριστερά γινώσκων γνώση̨ ὅτι θανάτω̨ ἀποθανη̨̃ (Ⅲ)

- Et mittens vocavit eum, dixitque illi : Nonne testificatus sum tibi per Dominum, et prædixi tibi : Quacumque die egressus ieris huc et illuc, scito te esse moriturum : et respondisti mihi : Bonus sermo, quem audivi ? (Ⅳ)

- ‫ 42 ׃2 וישלח המלך ויקרא לשמעי ויאמר אליו הלוא השבעתיך ביהוה ואעד בך לאמר ביום צאתך והלכת אנה ואנה ידע תדע כי מות תמות ותאמר אלי טוב הדבר שמעתי ‬ (Ⅴ)

2. 43

Why then hast thou not kept the oath of the LORD, and the commandment that I have charged thee with?

- Pourquoi donc n'as-tu pas observé le serment de l'Éternel et l'ordre que je t'avais donné? (Ⅱ)

- καὶ τί ὅτι οὐκ ἐφύλαξας τὸν ὅρκον κυρίου καὶ τὴν ἐντολήν ἣν ἐνετειλάμην κατὰ σου̃ (Ⅲ)

- quare ergo non custodisti jusjurandum Domini, et præceptum quod præceperam tibi ? (Ⅳ)

- ‫ 43 ׃2 ומדוע לא שמרת את שבעת יהוה ואת המצוה אשר צויתי עליך ‬ (Ⅴ)

2. 44

The king said moreover to Shimei, Thou knowest all the wickedness which thine heart is privy to, that thou didst to David my father: therefore the LORD shall return thy wickedness upon thine own head;

- Et le roi dit à Schimeï: Tu sais au dedans de ton coeur tout le mal que tu as fait à David, mon père; l'Éternel fait retomber ta méchanceté sur ta tête. (Ⅱ)

- καὶ εἰ̃πεν ὁ βασιλεὺς πρὸς Σεμεϊ σὺ οἰ̃δας πα̃σαν τὴν κακίαν σου ἣν ἔγνω ἡ καρδία σου ἃ ἐποίησας τω̨̃ Δαυιδ τω̨̃ πατρί μου καὶ ἀνταπέδωκεν κύριος τὴν κακίαν σου εἰς κεφαλήν σου (Ⅲ)

- Dixitque rex ad Semei : Tu nosti omne malum cujus tibi conscium est cor tuum, quod fecisti David patri meo : reddidit Dominus malitiam tuam in caput tuum : (Ⅳ)

- ‫ 44 ׃2 ויאמר המלך אל שמעי אתה ידעת את כל הרעה אשר ידע לבבך אשר עשית לדוד אבי והשיב יהוה את רעתך בראשך ‬ (Ⅴ)

2. 45

And king Solomon shall be blessed, and the throne of David shall be established before the LORD for ever.

- Mais le roi Salomon sera béni, et le trône de David sera pour toujours affermi devant l'Éternel. (Ⅱ)

- καὶ ὁ βασιλεὺς Σαλωμων ηὐλογημένος καὶ ὁ θρόνος Δαυιδ ἔσται ἕτοιμος ἐνώπιον κυρίου εἰς τὸν αἰω̃να (Ⅲ)

- et rex Salomon benedictus, et thronus David erit stabilis coram Domino usque in sempiternum. (Ⅳ)

- ‫ 45 ׃2 והמלך שלמה ברוך וכסא דוד יהיה נכון לפני יהוה עד עולם ‬ (Ⅴ)

2. 46

So the king commanded Benaiah the son of Jehoiada; which went out, and fell upon him, that he died. And the kingdom was established in the hand of Solomon.

- Et le roi donna ses ordres à Benaja, fils de Jehojada, qui sortit et frappa Schimeï; et Schimeï mourut. La royauté fut ainsi affermie entre les mains de Salomon. (Ⅱ)

- καὶ ἐνετείλατο ὁ βασιλεὺς Σαλωμων τω̨̃ Βαναια υἱω̨̃ Ιωδαε καὶ ἐξη̃λθεν καὶ ἀνει̃λεν αὐτόν καὶ ἀπέθανεν (Ⅲ)

- Jussit itaque rex Banaiæ filio Jojadæ, qui egressus, percussit eum, et mortuus est. (Ⅳ)

- ‫ 46 ׃2 ויצו המלך את בניהו בן יהוידע ויצא ויפגע בו וימת והממלכה נכונה ביד שלמה ‬ (Ⅴ)
