And they continued three years without war between Syria and Israel.
- On resta trois ans sans qu'il y eût guerre entre la Syrie et Israël. (Ⅱ) - καὶ ἐκάθισεν τρία ἔτη καὶ οὐκ ἠ̃ν πόλεμος ἀνὰ μέσον Συρίας καὶ ἀνὰ μέσον Ισραηλ (Ⅲ) - Transierunt igitur tres anni absque bello inter Syriam et Israël. (Ⅳ) - 1 ׃22 וישבו שלש שנים אין מלחמה בין ארם ובין ישראל פ (Ⅴ)

And it came to pass in the third year, that Jehoshaphat the king of Judah came down to the king of Israel.
- La troisième année, Josaphat, roi de Juda, descendit auprès du roi d'Israël. (Ⅱ) - καὶ ἐγενήθη ἐν τω̨̃ ἐνιαυτω̨̃ τω̨̃ τρίτω̨ καὶ κατέβη Ιωσαφατ βασιλεὺς Ιουδα πρὸς βασιλέα Ισραηλ (Ⅲ) - In anno autem tertio, descendit Josaphat rex Juda ad regem Israël. And the king of Israel said unto his servants, Know ye that Ramoth in Gilead is ours, and we be still, and take it not out of the hand of the king of Syria?
- Le roi d'Israël dit à ses serviteurs: Savez-vous que Ramoth en Galaad est à nous? Et nous ne nous inquiétons pas de la reprendre des mains du roi de Syrie! (Ⅱ) - καὶ εἰ̃πεν βασιλεὺς Ισραηλ πρὸς τοὺς παι̃δας αὐτου̃ εἰ οἴδατε ὅτι ἡμι̃ν Ρεμμαθ Γαλααδ καὶ ἡμει̃ς σιωπω̃μεν λαβει̃ν αὐτὴν ἐκ χειρὸς βασιλέως Συρίας (Ⅲ) - (Dixitque rex Israël ad servos suos : Ignoratis quod nostra sit Ramoth Galaad, et negligimus tollere eam de manu regis Syriæ ?) (Ⅳ) - 3 ׃22 ויאמר מלך ישראל אל עבדיו הידעתם כי לנו רמת גלעד ואנחנו מחשים מקחת אתה מיד מלך ארם (Ⅴ)

And he said unto Jehoshaphat, Wilt thou go with me to battle to Ramothgilead? And Jehoshaphat said to the king of Israel, I am as thou art, my people as thy people, my horses as thy horses.
- Et il dit à Josaphat: Veux-tu venir avec moi attaquer Ramoth en Galaad? Josaphat répondit au roi d'Israël: Nous irons, moi comme toi, mon peuple comme ton peuple, mes chevaux comme tes chevaux. (Ⅱ) - καὶ εἰ̃πεν βασιλεὺς Ισραηλ πρὸς Ιωσαφατ ἀναβήση̨ μεθ' ἡμω̃ν εἰς Ρεμμαθ Γαλααδ εἰς πόλεμον καὶ εἰ̃πεν Ιωσαφατ καθὼς ἐγὼ οὕτως καὶ σύ καθὼς ὁ λαός μου ὁ λαός σου καθὼς οἱ ἵπποι μου οἱ ἵπποι σου (Ⅲ) - Et ait ad Josaphat : Veniesne mecum ad præliandum in Ramoth Galaad ? And Jehoshaphat said unto the king of Israel, Enquire, I pray thee, at the word of the LORD to day.
- Puis Josaphat dit au roi d'Israël: Consulte maintenant, je te prie, la parole de l'Éternel. (Ⅱ) - καὶ εἰ̃πεν Ιωσαφατ βασιλεὺς Ιουδα πρὸς βασιλέα Ισραηλ ἐπερωτήσατε δὴ σήμερον τὸν κύριον (Ⅲ) - Dixitque Josaphat ad regem Israël : Sicut ego sum, ita et tu : populus meus et populus tuus unum sunt : et equites mei, equites tui. Dixitque Josaphat ad regem Israël : Quære, oro te, hodie sermonem Domini. (Ⅳ) - 5 ׃22 ויאמר יהושפט אל מלך ישראל דרש נא כיום את דבר יהוה (Ⅴ)

Then the king of Israel gathered the prophets together, about four hundred men, and said unto them, Shall I go against Ramothgilead to battle, or shall I forbear? And they said, Go up; for the LORD shall deliver it into the hand of the king.
- Le roi d'Israël assembla les prophètes, au nombre d'environ quatre cents, et leur dit: Irai-je attaquer Ramoth en Galaad, ou dois-je y renoncer? Et ils répondirent: Monte, et le Seigneur la livrera entre les mains du roi. (Ⅱ) - καὶ συνήθροισεν ὁ βασιλεὺς Ισραηλ πάντας τοὺς προφήτας ὡς τετρακοσίους ἄνδρας καὶ εἰ̃πεν αὐτοι̃ς ὁ βασιλεύς εἰ πορευθω̃ εἰς Ρεμμαθ Γαλααδ εἰς πόλεμον ἢ ἐπίσχω καὶ εἰ̃παν ἀνάβαινε καὶ διδοὺς δώσει κύριος εἰς χει̃ρας του̃ βασιλέως (Ⅲ) - Congregavit ergo rex Israël prophetas, quadringentos circiter viros, et ait ad eos : Ire debeo in Ramoth Galaad ad bellandum, an quiescere ? Qui responderunt : Ascende, et dabit eam Dominus in manu regis. (Ⅳ) - 6 ׃22 ויקבץ מלך ישראל את הנביאים כארבע מאות איש ויאמר אלהם האלך על רמת גלעד למלחמה אם אחדל ויאמרו עלה ויתן אדני ביד המלך (Ⅴ)

And Jehoshaphat said, Is there not here a prophet of the LORD besides, that we might enquire of him?
- Mais Josaphat dit: N'y a-t-il plus ici aucun prophète de l'Éternel, par qui nous puissions le consulter? (Ⅱ) - καὶ εἰ̃πεν Ιωσαφατ πρὸς βασιλέα Ισραηλ οὐκ ἔστιν ὡ̃δε προφήτης του̃ κυρίου καὶ ἐπερωτήσομεν τὸν κύριον δι' αὐτου̃ (Ⅲ) - Dixit autem Josaphat : Non est hic propheta Domini quispiam, ut interrogemus per eum ? (Ⅳ) - 7 ׃22 ויאמר יהושפט האין פה נביא ליהוה עוד ונדרשה מאותו (Ⅴ)

And the king of Israel said unto Jehoshaphat, There is yet one man, Micaiah the son of Imlah, by whom we may enquire of the LORD: but I hate him; for he doth not prophesy good concerning me, but evil. And Jehoshaphat said, Let not the king say so.
- Le roi d'Israël répondit à Josaphat: Il y a encore un homme par qui l'on pourrait consulter l'Éternel; mais je le hais, car il ne me prophétise rien de bon, il ne prophétise que du mal: c'est Michée, fils de Jimla. Et Josaphat dit: Que le roi ne parle pas ainsi! (Ⅱ) - καὶ εἰ̃πεν ὁ βασιλεὺς Ισραηλ πρὸς Ιωσαφατ ἔτι ἔστιν ἀνὴρ εἱ̃ς του̃ ἐπερωτη̃σαι τὸν κύριον δι' αὐτου̃ καὶ ἐγὼ μεμίσηκα αὐτόν ὅτι οὐ λαλει̃ περὶ ἐμου̃ καλά ἀλλ' ἢ κακά Μιχαιας υἱὸς Ιεμλα καὶ εἰ̃πεν Ιωσαφατ βασιλεὺς Ιουδα μὴ λεγέτω ὁ βασιλεὺς οὕτως (Ⅲ) - Et ait rex Israël ad Josaphat : Remansit vir unus per quem possumus interrogare Dominum : sed ego odi eum, quia non prophetat mihi bonum, sed malum : Michæas filius Jemla. Cui Josaphat ait : Ne loquaris ita, rex. (Ⅳ) - 8 ׃22 ויאמר מלך ישראל אל יהושפט עוד איש אחד לדרש את יהוה מאתו ואני שנאתיו כי לא יתנבא עלי טוב כי אם רע מיכיהו בן ימלה ויאמר יהושפט אל יאמר המלך כן (Ⅴ)

Then the king of Israel called an officer, and said, Hasten hither Micaiah the son of Imlah.
- Alors le roi d'Israël appela un eunuque, et dit: Fais venir de suite Michée, fils de Jimla. (Ⅱ) - καὶ ἐκάλεσεν ὁ βασιλεὺς Ισραηλ εὐνου̃χον ἕνα καὶ εἰ̃πεν τάχος Μιχαιαν υἱὸν Ιεμλα (Ⅲ) - Vocavit ergo rex Israël eunuchum quemdam, et dixit ei : Festina adducere Michæam filium Jemla.\ (Ⅳ) - 9 ׃22 ויקרא מלך ישראל אל סריס אחד ויאמר מהרה מיכיהו בן ימלה (Ⅴ)

And the king of Israel and Jehoshaphat the king of Judah sat each on his throne, having put on their robes, in a void place in the entrance of the gate of Samaria; and all the prophets prophesied before them.
- Le roi d'Israël et Josaphat, roi de Juda, étaient assis chacun sur son trône, revêtus de leurs habits royaux, dans la place à l'entrée de la porte de Samarie. Et tous les prophètes prophétisaient devant eux. (Ⅱ) - καὶ ὁ βασιλεὺς Ισραηλ καὶ Ιωσαφατ βασιλεὺς Ιουδα ἐκάθηντο ἀνὴρ ἐπὶ του̃ θρόνου αὐτου̃ ἔνοπλοι ἐν ται̃ς πύλαις Σαμαρείας καὶ πάντες οἱ προφη̃ται ἐπροφήτευον ἐνώπιον αὐτω̃ν (Ⅲ) - Rex autem Israël, et Josaphat rex Juda, sedebant unusquisque in solio suo, vestiti cultu regio, in area juxta ostium portæ Samariæ : et universi prophetæ prophetabant in conspectu eorum. (Ⅳ) - 10 ׃22 ומלך ישראל ויהושפט מלך יהודה ישבים איש על כסאו מלבשים בגדים בגרן פתח שער שמרון וכל הנביאים מתנבאים לפניהם (Ⅴ)

And Zedekiah the son of Chenaanah made him horns of iron: and he said, Thus saith the LORD, With these shalt thou push the Syrians, until thou have consumed them.
- Sédécias, fils de Kenaana, s'était fait des cornes de fer, et il dit: Ainsi parle l'Éternel: Avec ces cornes tu frapperas les Syriens jusqu'à les détruire. (Ⅱ) - καὶ ἐποίησεν ἑαυτω̨̃ Σεδεκιας υἱὸς Χανανα κέρατα σιδηρα̃ καὶ εἰ̃πεν τάδε λέγει κύριος ἐν τούτοις κερατιει̃ς τὴν Συρίαν ἕως συντελεσθη̨̃ (Ⅲ) - Fecit quoque sibi Sedecias filius Chanaana cornua ferrea, et ait : Hæc dicit Dominus : His ventilabis Syriam, donec deleas eam. (Ⅳ) - 11 ׃22 ויעש לו צדקיה בן כנענה קרני ברזל ויאמר כה אמר יהוה באלה תנגח את ארם עד כלתם (Ⅴ)

And all the prophets prophesied so, saying, Go up to Ramothgilead, and prosper: for the LORD shall deliver it into the king's hand.
- Et tous les prophètes prophétisaient de même, en disant: Monte à Ramoth en Galaad! tu auras du succès, et l'Éternel la livrera entre les mains du roi. (Ⅱ) - καὶ πάντες οἱ προφη̃ται ἐπροφήτευον οὕτως λέγοντες ἀνάβαινε εἰς Ρεμμαθ Γαλααδ καὶ εὐοδώσει καὶ δώσει κύριος εἰς χει̃ράς σου καὶ τὸν βασιλέα Συρίας (Ⅲ) - Omnesque prophetæ similiter prophetabant, dicentes : Ascende in Ramoth Galaad, et vade prospere, et tradet Dominus in manus regis. (Ⅳ) - 12 ׃22 וכל הנבאים נבאים כן לאמר עלה רמת גלעד והצלח ונתן יהוה ביד המלך (Ⅴ)

And the messenger that was gone to call Micaiah spake unto him, saying, Behold now, the words of the prophets declare good unto the king with one mouth: let thy word, I pray thee, be like the word of one of them, and speak that which is good.
- Le messager qui était allé appeler Michée lui parla ainsi: Voici, les prophètes, d'un commun accord, prophétisent du bien au roi; que ta parole soit donc comme la parole de chacun d'eux! annonce du bien! (Ⅱ) - καὶ ὁ ἄγγελος ὁ πορευθεὶς καλέσαι τὸν Μιχαιαν ἐλάλησεν αὐτω̨̃ λέγων ἰδοὺ δὴ λαλου̃σιν πάντες οἱ προφη̃ται ἐν στόματι ἑνὶ καλὰ περὶ του̃ βασιλέως γίνου δὴ καὶ σὺ εἰς λόγους σου κατὰ τοὺς λόγους ἑνὸς τούτων καὶ λάλησον καλά (Ⅲ) - Nuntius vero qui ierat ut vocaret Michæam, locutus est ad eum, dicens : Ecce sermones prophetarum ore uno regi bona prædicant : sit ergo sermo tuus similis eorum, et loquere bona. (Ⅳ) - 13 ׃22 והמלאך אשר הלך לקרא מיכיהו דבר אליו לאמר הנה נא דברי הנביאים פה אחד טוב אל המלך יהי נא *דבריך **דברך כדבר אחד מהם ודברת טוב (Ⅴ)

And Micaiah said, As the LORD liveth, what the LORD saith unto me, that will I speak.
- Michée répondit: L'Éternel est vivant! j'annoncerai ce que l'Éternel me dira. (Ⅱ) - καὶ εἰ̃πεν Μιχαιας ζη̨̃ κύριος ὅτι ἃ ἂν εἴπη̨ κύριος πρός με ταυ̃τα λαλήσω (Ⅲ) - Cui Michæas ait : Vivit Dominus, quia quodcumque dixerit mihi Dominus, hoc loquar. (Ⅳ) - 14 ׃22 ויאמר מיכיהו חי יהוה כי את אשר יאמר יהוה אלי אתו אדבר (Ⅴ)

So he came to the king. And the king said unto him, Micaiah, shall we go against Ramothgilead to battle, or shall we forbear? And he answered him, Go, and prosper: for the LORD shall deliver it into the hand of the king.
- Lorsqu'il fut arrivé auprès du roi, le roi lui dit: Michée, irons-nous attaquer Ramoth en Galaad, ou devons-nous y renoncer? Il lui répondit: Monte! tu auras du succès, et l'Éternel la livrera entre les mains du roi. (Ⅱ) - καὶ ἠ̃λθεν πρὸς τὸν βασιλέα καὶ εἰ̃πεν αὐτω̨̃ ὁ βασιλεύς Μιχαια εἰ ἀναβω̃ εἰς Ρεμμαθ Γαλααδ εἰς πόλεμον ἢ ἐπίσχω καὶ εἰ̃πεν ἀνάβαινε καὶ εὐοδώσει καὶ δώσει κύριος εἰς χει̃ρα του̃ βασιλέως (Ⅲ) - Venit itaque ad regem, et ait illi rex : Michæa, ire debemus in Ramoth Galaad ad præliandum, an cessare ? Cui ille respondit : Ascende, et vade prospere, et tradet eam Dominus in manus regis. (Ⅳ) - 15 ׃22 ויבוא אל המלך ויאמר המלך אליו מיכיהו הנלך אל רמת גלעד למלחמה אם נחדל ויאמר אליו עלה והצלח ונתן יהוה ביד המלך (Ⅴ)

And the king said unto him, How many times shall I adjure thee that thou tell me nothing but that which is true in the name of the LORD?
- Et le roi lui dit: Combien de fois me faudra-t-il te faire jurer de ne me dire que la vérité au nom de l'Éternel? (Ⅱ) - καὶ εἰ̃πεν αὐτω̨̃ ὁ βασιλεύς ποσάκις ἐγὼ ὁρκίζω σε ὅπως λαλήση̨ς πρός με ἀλήθειαν ἐν ὀνόματι κυρίου (Ⅲ) - Dixit autem rex ad eum : Iterum atque iterum adjuro te, ut non loquaris mihi nisi quod verum est, in nomine Domini. (Ⅳ) - 16 ׃22 ויאמר אליו המלך עד כמה פעמים אני משבעך אשר לא תדבר אלי רק אמת בשם יהוה (Ⅴ)

And he said, I saw all Israel scattered upon the hills, as sheep that have not a shepherd: and the LORD said, These have no master: let them return every man to his house in peace.
- Michée répondit: Je vois tout Israël dispersé sur les montagnes, comme des brebis qui n'ont point de berger; et l'Éternel dit: Ces gens n'ont point de maître, que chacun retourne en paix dans sa maison! (Ⅱ) - καὶ εἰ̃πεν Μιχαιας οὐχ οὕτως ἑώρακα πάντα τὸν Ισραηλ διεσπαρμένον ἐν τοι̃ς ὄρεσιν ὡς ποίμνιον ὡ̨̃ οὐκ ἔστιν ποιμήν καὶ εἰ̃πεν κύριος οὐ κύριος τούτοις ἀναστρεφέτω ἕκαστος εἰς τὸν οἰ̃κον αὐτου̃ ἐν εἰρήνη̨ (Ⅲ) - Et ille ait : Vidi cunctum Israël dispersum in montibus, quasi oves non habentes pastorem. Et ait Dominus : Non habent isti dominum : revertatur unusquisque in domum suam in pace. (Ⅳ) - 17 ׃22 ויאמר ראיתי את כל ישראל נפצים אל ההרים כצאן אשר אין להם רעה ויאמר יהוה לא אדנים לאלה ישובו איש לביתו בשלום (Ⅴ)

And the king of Israel said unto Jehoshaphat, Did I not tell thee that he would prophesy no good concerning me, but evil?
- Le roi d'Israël dit à Josaphat: Ne te l'ai-je pas dit? Il ne prophétise sur moi rien de bon, il ne prophétise que du mal. (Ⅱ) - καὶ εἰ̃πεν βασιλεὺς Ισραηλ πρὸς Ιωσαφατ βασιλέα Ιουδα οὐκ εἰ̃πα πρὸς σέ οὐ προφητεύει οὑ̃τός μοι καλά διότι ἀλλ' ἢ κακά (Ⅲ) - (Dixit ergo rex Israël ad Josaphat : Numquid non dixi tibi, quia non prophetat mihi bonum, sed semper malum ?) (Ⅳ) - 18 ׃22 ויאמר מלך ישראל אל יהושפט הלוא אמרתי אליך לוא יתנבא עלי טוב כי אם רע (Ⅴ)

And he said, Hear thou therefore the word of the LORD: I saw the LORD sitting on his throne, and all the host of heaven standing by him on his right hand and on his left.
- Et Michée dit: Écoute donc la parole de l'Éternel! J'ai vu l'Éternel assis sur son trône, et toute l'armée des cieux se tenant auprès de lui, à sa droite et à sa gauche. (Ⅱ) - καὶ εἰ̃πεν Μιχαιας οὐχ οὕτως οὐκ ἐγώ ἄκουε ῥη̃μα κυρίου οὐχ οὕτως εἰ̃δον τὸν κύριον θεὸν Ισραηλ καθήμενον ἐπὶ θρόνου αὐτου̃ καὶ πα̃σα ἡ στρατιὰ του̃ οὐρανου̃ εἱστήκει περὶ αὐτὸν ἐκ δεξιω̃ν αὐτου̃ καὶ ἐξ εὐωνύμων αὐτου̃ (Ⅲ) - Ille vero addens, ait : Propterea audi sermonem Domini : vidi Dominum sedentem super solium suum, et omnem exercitum cæli assistentem ei a dextris et a sinistris : (Ⅳ) - 19 ׃22 ויאמר לכן שמע דבר יהוה ראיתי את יהוה ישב על כסאו וכל צבא השמים עמד עליו מימינו ומשמאלו (Ⅴ)

And the LORD said, Who shall persuade Ahab, that he may go up and fall at Ramothgilead? And one said on this manner, and another said on that manner.
- Et l'Éternel dit: Qui séduira Achab, pour qu'il monte à Ramoth en Galaad et qu'il y périsse? Ils répondirent l'un d'une manière, l'autre d'une autre. (Ⅱ) - καὶ εἰ̃πεν κύριος τίς ἀπατήσει τὸν Αχααβ βασιλέα Ισραηλ καὶ ἀναβήσεται καὶ πεσει̃ται ἐν Ρεμμαθ Γαλααδ καὶ εἰ̃πεν οὑ̃τος οὕτως καὶ οὑ̃τος οὕτως (Ⅲ) - et ait Dominus : Quis decipiet Achab regem Israël, ut ascendat, et cadat in Ramoth Galaad ? Et dixit unus verba hujuscemodi, et alius aliter. (Ⅳ) - 20 ׃22 ויאמר יהוה מי יפתה את אחאב ויעל ויפל ברמת גלעד ויאמר זה בכה וזה אמר בכה (Ⅴ)

And there came forth a spirit, and stood before the LORD, and said, I will persuade him.
- Et un esprit vint se présenter devant l'Éternel, et dit: Moi, je le séduirai. L'Éternel lui dit: Comment? (Ⅱ) - καὶ ἐξη̃λθεν πνευ̃μα καὶ ἔστη ἐνώπιον κυρίου καὶ εἰ̃πεν ἐγὼ ἀπατήσω αὐτόν καὶ εἰ̃πεν πρὸς αὐτὸν κύριος ἐν τίνι (Ⅲ) - Egressus est autem spiritus, et stetit coram Domino, et ait : Ego decipiam illum. Cui locutus est Dominus : In quo ? (Ⅳ) - 21 ׃22 ויצא הרוח ויעמד לפני יהוה ויאמר אני אפתנו ויאמר יהוה אליו במה (Ⅴ)

And the LORD said unto him, Wherewith? And he said, I will go forth, and I will be a lying spirit in the mouth of all his prophets. And he said, Thou shalt persuade him, and prevail also: go forth, and do so.
- Je sortirai, répondit-il, et je serai un esprit de mensonge dans la bouche de tous ses prophètes. L'Éternel dit: Tu le séduiras, et tu en viendras à bout; sors, et fais ainsi! (Ⅱ) - καὶ εἰ̃πεν ἐξελεύσομαι καὶ ἔσομαι πνευ̃μα ψευδὲς ἐν στόματι πάντων τω̃ν προφητω̃ν αὐτου̃ καὶ εἰ̃πεν ἀπατήσεις καί γε δυνήσει ἔξελθε καὶ ποίησον οὕτως (Ⅲ) - Et ille ait : Egrediar, et ero spiritus mendax in ore omnium prophetarum ejus. Et dixit Dominus : Decipies, et prævalebis : egredere, et fac ita. (Ⅳ) - 22 ׃22 ויאמר אצא והייתי רוח שקר בפי כל נביאיו ויאמר תפתה וגם תוכל צא ועשה כן (Ⅴ)

Now therefore, behold, the LORD hath put a lying spirit in the mouth of all these thy prophets, and the LORD hath spoken evil concerning thee.
- Et maintenant, voici, l'Éternel a mis un esprit de mensonge dans la bouche de tous tes prophètes qui sont là. Et l'Éternel a prononcé du mal contre toi. But Zedekiah the son of Chenaanah went near, and smote Micaiah on the cheek, and said, Which way went the Spirit of the LORD from me to speak unto thee?
- Alors Sédécias, fils de Kenaana, s'étant approché, frappa Michée sur la joue, et dit: Par où l'esprit de l'Éternel est-il sorti de moi pour te parler? And Micaiah said, Behold, thou shalt see in that day, when thou shalt go into an inner chamber to hide thyself.

And the king of Israel said, Take Micaiah, and carry him back unto Amon the governor of the city, and to Joash the king's son;

And say, Thus saith the king, Put this fellow in the prison, and feed him with bread of affliction and with water of affliction, until I come in peace.

And Micaiah said, If thou return at all in peace, the LORD hath not spoken by me. And he said, Hearken, O people, every one of you.

And the king of Israel said unto Jehoshaphat, I will disguise myself, and enter into the battle; but put thou on thy robes. And the king of Israel disguised himself, and went into the battle.

But the king of Syria commanded his thirty and two captains that had rule over his chariots, saying, Fight neither with small nor great, save only with the king of Israel.
- Le roi de Syrie avait donné cet ordre aux trente-deux chefs de ses chars: Vous n'attaquerez ni petits ni grands, mais vous attaquerez seulement le roi d'Israël. (Ⅱ) - καὶ βασιλεὺς Συρίας ἐνετείλατο τοι̃ς ἄρχουσι τω̃ν ἁρμάτων αὐτου̃ τριάκοντα καὶ δυσὶν λέγων μὴ πολεμει̃τε μικρὸν καὶ μέγαν ἀλλ' ἢ τὸν βασιλέα Ισραηλ μονώτατον (Ⅲ) - Rex autem Syriæ præceperat principibus curruum triginta duobus, dicens : Non pugnabitis contra minorem et majorem quempiam, nisi contra regem Israël solum. And it came to pass, when the captains of the chariots saw Jehoshaphat, that they said, Surely it is the king of Israel. And they turned aside to fight against him: and Jehoshaphat cried out.
- Quand les chefs des chars aperçurent Josaphat, ils dirent: Certainement, c'est le roi d'Israël. Et ils s'approchèrent de lui pour l'attaquer. Josaphat poussa un cri. And it came to pass, when the captains of the chariots perceived that it was not the king of Israel, that they turned back from pursuing him.

And a certain man drew a bow at a venture, and smote the king of Israel between the joints of the harness: wherefore he said unto the driver of his chariot, Turn thine hand, and carry me out of the host; for I am wounded.
- Alors un homme tira de son arc au hasard, et frappa le roi d'Israël au défaut de la cuirasse. Le roi dit à celui qui dirigeait son char: Tourne, et fais-moi sortir du champ de bataille, car je suis blessé. (Ⅱ) - καὶ ἐνέτεινεν εἱ̃ς τὸ τόξον εὐστόχως καὶ ἐπάταξεν τὸν βασιλέα Ισραηλ ἀνὰ μέσον του̃ πνεύμονος καὶ ἀνὰ μέσον του̃ θώρακος καὶ εἰ̃πεν τω̨̃ ἡνιόχω̨ αὐτου̃ ἐπίστρεψον τὰς χει̃ράς σου καὶ ἐξάγαγέ με ἐκ του̃ πολέμου ὅτι τέτρωμαι (Ⅲ) - Vir autem quidam tetendit arcum, in incertum sagittam dirigens, et casu percussit regem Israël inter pulmonem et stomachum. (Ⅳ) - 34 ׃22 ואיש משך בקשת לתמו ויכה את מלך ישראל בין הדבקים ובין השרין ויאמר לרכבו הפך ידך והוציאני מן המחנה כי החליתי (Ⅴ)

And the battle increased that day: and the king was stayed up in his chariot against the Syrians, and died at even: and the blood ran out of the wound into the midst of the chariot.
- Le combat devint acharné ce jour-là. Le roi fut retenu dans son char en face des Syriens, et il mourut le soir. Le sang de la blessure coula dans l'intérieur du char. (Ⅱ) - καὶ ἐτροπώθη ὁ πόλεμος ἐν τη̨̃ ἡμέρα̨ ἐκείνη̨ καὶ ὁ βασιλεὺς ἠ̃ν ἑστηκὼς ἐπὶ του̃ ἅρματος ἐξ ἐναντίας Συρίας ἀπὸ πρωὶ ἕως ἑσπέρας καὶ ἀπέχυννε τὸ αἱ̃μα ἐκ τη̃ς πληγη̃ς εἰς τὸν κόλπον του̃ ἅρματος καὶ ἀπέθανεν ἑσπέρας καὶ ἐξεπορεύετο τὸ αἱ̃μα τη̃ς τροπη̃ς ἕως του̃ κόλπου του̃ ἅρματος (Ⅲ) - Commissum est ergo prælium in die illa, et rex Israël stabat in curru suo contra Syros, et mortuus est vespere : fluebat autem sanguis plagæ in sinum currus, (Ⅳ) - 35 ׃22 ותעלה המלחמה ביום ההוא והמלך היה מעמד במרכבה נכח ארם וימת בערב ויצק דם המכה אל חיק הרכב (Ⅴ)

And there went a proclamation throughout the host about the going down of the sun, saying, Every man to his city, and every man to his own country.

So the king died, and was brought to Samaria; and they buried the king in Samaria.

And one washed the chariot in the pool of Samaria; and the dogs licked up his blood; and they washed his armor; according unto the word of the LORD which he spake.

Now the rest of the acts of Ahab, and all that he did, and the ivory house which he made, and all the cities that he built, are they not written in the book of the chronicles of the kings of Israel?

So Ahab slept with his fathers; and Ahaziah his son reigned in his stead.

And Jehoshaphat the son of Asa began to reign over Judah in the fourth year of Ahab king of Israel.

Jehoshaphat was thirty and five years old when he began to reign; and he reigned twenty and five years in Jerusalem. And his mother's name was Azubah the daughter of Shilhi.

And he walked in all the ways of Asa his father; he turned not aside from it, doing that which was right in the eyes of the LORD:

(Ⅱ) - καὶ ἐπορεύθη ἐν πάση̨ ὁδω̨̃ Ασα του̃ πατρὸς αὐτου̃ οὐκ ἐξέκλινεν ἀπ' αὐτη̃ς του̃ ποιη̃σαι τὸ εὐθὲς ἐν ὀφθαλμοι̃ς κυρίου (Ⅲ) - Et ambulavit in omni via Asa patris sui, et non declinavit ex ea : fecitque quod rectum erat in conspectu Domini. (Ⅳ) - 43 ׃22 וילך בכל דרך אסא אביו לא סר ממנו לעשות הישר בעיני יהוה (Ⅴ)

Nevertheless the high places were not taken away; for the people offered and burnt incense yet in the high places.

Then said Ahaziah the son of Ahab unto Jehoshaphat, Let my servants go with thy servants in the ships. But Jehoshaphat would not.
