My son, if thou wilt receive my words, and hide my commandments with thee;
- Mon fils, si tu reçois mes paroles, Et si tu gardes avec toi mes préceptes, (Ⅱ) - υἱέ ἐὰν δεξάμενος ῥη̃σιν ἐμη̃ς ἐντολη̃ς κρύψη̨ς παρὰ σεαυτω̨̃ (Ⅲ) - Fili mi, si susceperis sermones meos,/ et mandata mea absconderis penes te :/ (Ⅳ) - 1 ׃2 בני אם תקח אמרי ומצותי תצפן אתך (Ⅴ)

So that thou incline thine ear unto wisdom, and apply thine heart to understanding;
- Si tu rends ton oreille attentive à la sagesse, Et si tu inclines ton coeur à l'intelligence; (Ⅱ) - ὑπακούσεται σοφίας τὸ οὐ̃ς σου καὶ παραβαλει̃ς καρδίαν σου εἰς σύνεσιν παραβαλει̃ς δὲ αὐτὴν ἐπὶ νουθέτησιν τω̨̃ υἱω̨̃ σου (Ⅲ) - ut audiat sapientiam auris tua,/ inclina cor tuum ad cognoscendam prudentiam./ (Ⅳ) - 2 ׃2 להקשיב לחכמה אזנך תטה לבך לתבונה (Ⅴ)

Yea, if thou criest after knowledge, and liftest up thy voice for understanding;
- Oui, si tu appelles la sagesse, Et si tu élèves ta voix vers l'intelligence, (Ⅱ) - ἐὰν γὰρ τὴν σοφίαν ἐπικαλέση̨ καὶ τη̨̃ συνέσει δω̨̃ς φωνήν σου τὴν δὲ αἴσθησιν ζητήση̨ς μεγάλη̨ τη̨̃ φωνη̨̃ (Ⅲ) - Si enim sapientiam invocaveris,/ et inclinaveris cor tuum prudentiæ ;/ (Ⅳ) - 3 ׃2 כי אם לבינה תקרא לתבונה תתן קולך (Ⅴ)

If thou seekest her as silver, and searchest for her as for hid treasures;
- Si tu la cherches comme l'argent, Si tu la poursuis comme un trésor, (Ⅱ) - καὶ ἐὰν ζητήση̨ς αὐτὴν ὡς ἀργύριον καὶ ὡς θησαυροὺς ἐξερευνήση̨ς αὐτήν (Ⅲ) - si quæsieris eam quasi pecuniam,/ et sicut thesauros effoderis illam :/ (Ⅳ) - 4 ׃2 אם תבקשנה ככסף וכמטמונים תחפשנה (Ⅴ)

Then shalt thou understand the fear of the LORD, and find the knowledge of God.
- Alors tu comprendras la crainte de l'Éternel, Et tu trouveras la connaissance de Dieu. (Ⅱ) - τότε συνήσεις φόβον κυρίου καὶ ἐπίγνωσιν θεου̃ εὑρήσεις (Ⅲ) - tunc intelliges timorem Domini,/ et scientiam Dei invenies,/ (Ⅳ) - 5 ׃2 אז תבין יראת יהוה ודעת אלהים תמצא (Ⅴ)

For the LORD giveth wisdom: out of his mouth cometh knowledge and understanding.
- Car l'Éternel donne la sagesse; De sa bouche sortent la connaissance et l'intelligence; (Ⅱ) - ὅτι κύριος δίδωσιν σοφίαν καὶ ἀπὸ προσώπου αὐτου̃ γνω̃σις καὶ σύνεσις (Ⅲ) - quia Dominus dat sapientiam,/ et ex ore ejus prudentia et scientia./ (Ⅳ) - 6 ׃2 כי יהוה יתן חכמה מפיו דעת ותבונה (Ⅴ)

He layeth up sound wisdom for the righteous: he is a buckler to them that walk uprightly.
- Il tient en réserve le salut pour les hommes droits, Un bouclier pour ceux qui marchent dans l'intégrité, (Ⅱ) - καὶ θησαυρίζει τοι̃ς κατορθου̃σι σωτηρίαν ὑπερασπιει̃ τὴν πορείαν αὐτω̃ν (Ⅲ) - Custodiet rectorum salutem,/ et proteget gradientes simpliciter,/ (Ⅳ) - 7 ׃2 *וצפן **יצפן לישרים תושיה מגן להלכי תם (Ⅴ)

He keepeth the paths of judgment, and preserveth the way of his saints.
- En protégeant les sentiers de la justice Et en gardant la voie de ses fidèles. (Ⅱ) - του̃ φυλάξαι ὁδοὺς δικαιωμάτων καὶ ὁδὸν εὐλαβουμένων αὐτὸν διαφυλάξει (Ⅲ) - servans semitas justitiæ,/ et vias sanctorum custodiens./ (Ⅳ) - 8 ׃2 לנצר ארחות משפט ודרך *חסידו **חסידיו ישמר (Ⅴ)

Then shalt thou understand righteousness, and judgment, and equity; yea, every good path.
- Alors tu comprendras la justice, l'équité, La droiture, toutes les routes qui mènent au bien. (Ⅱ) - τότε συνήσεις δικαιοσύνην καὶ κρίμα καὶ κατορθώσεις πάντας ἄξονας ἀγαθούς (Ⅲ) - Tunc intelliges justitiam, et judicium,/ et æquitatem, et omnem semitam bonam.]\ (Ⅳ) - 9 ׃2 אז תבין צדק ומשפט ומישרים כל מעגל טוב (Ⅴ)

When wisdom entereth into thine heart, and knowledge is pleasant unto thy soul;
- Car la sagesse viendra dans ton coeur, Et la connaissance fera les délices de ton âme; (Ⅱ) - ἐὰν γὰρ ἔλθη̨ ἡ σοφία εἰς σὴν διάνοιαν ἡ δὲ αἴσθησις τη̨̃ ση̨̃ ψυχη̨̃ καλὴ εἰ̃ναι δόξη̨ (Ⅲ) - Si intraverit sapientia cor tuum,/ et scientia animæ tuæ placuerit,/ (Ⅳ) - 10 ׃2 כי תבוא חכמה בלבך ודעת לנפשך ינעם (Ⅴ)

Discretion shall preserve thee, understanding shall keep thee:
- La réflexion veillera sur toi, L'intelligence te gardera, (Ⅱ) - βουλὴ καλὴ φυλάξει σε ἔννοια δὲ ὁσία τηρήσει σε (Ⅲ) - consilium custodiet te,/ et prudentia servabit te :/ (Ⅳ) - 11 ׃2 מזמה תשמר עליך תבונה תנצרכה (Ⅴ)

To deliver thee from the way of the evil man, from the man that speaketh froward things;
- Pour te délivrer de la voie du mal, De l'homme qui tient des discours pervers, (Ⅱ) - ἵνα ῥύσηταί σε ἀπὸ ὁδου̃ κακη̃ς καὶ ἀπὸ ἀνδρὸς λαλου̃ντος μηδὲν πιστόν (Ⅲ) - ut eruaris a via mala,/ et ab homine qui perversa loquitur ;/ (Ⅳ) - 12 ׃2 להצילך מדרך רע מאיש מדבר תהפכות (Ⅴ)

Who leave the paths of uprightness, to walk in the ways of darkness;
- De ceux qui abandonnent les sentiers de la droiture Afin de marcher dans des chemins ténébreux, (Ⅱ) - ὠ̃ οἱ ἐγκαταλείποντες ὁδοὺς εὐθείας του̃ πορεύεσθαι ἐν ὁδοι̃ς σκότους (Ⅲ) - qui relinquunt iter rectum,/ et ambulant per vias tenebrosas ;/ (Ⅳ) - 13 ׃2 העזבים ארחות ישר ללכת בדרכי חשך (Ⅴ)

Who rejoice to do evil, and delight in the frowardness of the wicked;
- Qui trouvent de la jouissance à faire le mal, Qui mettent leur plaisir dans la perversité, (Ⅱ) - οἱ εὐφραινόμενοι ἐπὶ κακοι̃ς καὶ χαίροντες ἐπὶ διαστροφη̨̃ κακη̨̃ (Ⅲ) - qui lætantur cum malefecerint,/ et exsultant in rebus pessimis ;/ (Ⅳ) - 14 ׃2 השמחים לעשות רע יגילו בתהפכות רע (Ⅴ)

Whose ways are crooked, and they froward in their paths:
- Qui suivent des sentiers détournés, Et qui prennent des routes tortueuses; (Ⅱ) - ὡ̃ν αἱ τρίβοι σκολιαὶ καὶ καμπύλαι αἱ τροχιαὶ αὐτω̃ν (Ⅲ) - quorum viæ perversæ sunt,/ et infames gressus eorum./ (Ⅳ) - 15 ׃2 אשר ארחתיהם עקשים ונלוזים במעגלותם (Ⅴ)

To deliver thee from the strange woman, even from the stranger which flattereth with her words;
- Pour te délivrer de la femme étrangère, De l'étrangère qui emploie des paroles doucereuses, (Ⅱ) - του̃ μακράν σε ποιη̃σαι ἀπὸ ὁδου̃ εὐθείας καὶ ἀλλότριον τη̃ς δικαίας γνώμης (Ⅲ) - Ut eruaris a muliere aliena,/ et ab extranea quæ mollit sermones suos,/ (Ⅳ) - 16 ׃2 להצילך מאשה זרה מנכריה אמריה החליקה (Ⅴ)

Which forsaketh the guide of her youth, and forgetteth the covenant of her God.
- Qui abandonne l'ami de sa jeunesse, Et qui oublie l'alliance de son Dieu; (Ⅱ) - υἱέ μή σε καταλάβη̨ κακὴ βουλὴ ἡ ἀπολείπουσα διδασκαλίαν νεότητος καὶ διαθήκην θείαν ἐπιλελησμένη (Ⅲ) - et relinquit ducem pubertatis suæ,/ (Ⅳ) - 17 ׃2 העזבת אלוף נעוריה ואת ברית אלהיה שכחה (Ⅴ)

For her house inclineth unto death, and her paths unto the dead.
- Car sa maison penche vers la mort, Et sa route mène chez les morts: (Ⅱ) - ἔθετο γὰρ παρὰ τω̨̃ θανάτω̨ τὸν οἰ̃κον αὐτη̃ς καὶ παρὰ τω̨̃ ἅ̨δη̨ μετὰ τω̃ν γηγενω̃ν τοὺς ἄξονας αὐτη̃ς (Ⅲ) - et pacti Dei sui oblita est./ Inclinata est enim ad mortem domus ejus,/ et ad inferos semitæ ipsius./ (Ⅳ) - 18 ׃2 כי שחה אל מות ביתה ואל רפאים מעגלתיה (Ⅴ)

None that go unto her return again, neither take they hold of the paths of life.

That thou mayest walk in the way of good men, and keep the paths of the righteous.
- Tu marcheras ainsi dans la voie des gens de bien, Tu garderas les sentiers des justes. (Ⅱ) - εἰ γὰρ ἐπορεύοντο τρίβους ἀγαθάς εὕροσαν ἂν τρίβους δικαιοσύνης λείους (Ⅲ) - Ut ambules in via bona,/ et calles justorum custodias :/ (Ⅳ) - 20 ׃2 למען תלך בדרך טובים וארחות צדיקים תשמר (Ⅴ)

For the upright shall dwell in the land, and the perfect shall remain in it.
- Car les hommes droits habiteront le pays, Les hommes intègres y resteront; (Ⅱ) - χρηστοὶ ἔσονται οἰκήτορες γη̃ς ἄκακοι δὲ ὑπολειφθήσονται ἐν αὐτη̨̃ ὅτι εὐθει̃ς κατασκηνώσουσι γη̃ν καὶ ὅσιοι ὑπολειφθήσονται ἐν αὐτη̨̃ (Ⅲ) - qui enim recti sunt habitabunt in terra,/ et simplices permanebunt in ea ;/ (Ⅳ) - 21 ׃2 כי ישרים ישכנו[Q][n][p] ארץ ותמימים יותרו בה (Ⅴ)

But the wicked shall be cut off from the earth, and the transgressors shall be rooted out of it.
