12. 1

And the LORD sent Nathan unto David. And he came unto him, and said unto him, There were two men in one city; the one rich, and the other poor.

- L'Éternel envoya Nathan vers David. Et Nathan vint à lui, et lui dit: Il y avait dans une ville deux hommes, l'un riche et l'autre pauvre. (Ⅱ)

- καὶ ἀπέστειλεν κύριος τὸν Ναθαν τὸν προφήτην πρὸς Δαυιδ καὶ εἰση̃λθεν πρὸς αὐτὸν καὶ εἰ̃πεν αὐτω̨̃ δύο ἠ̃σαν ἄνδρες ἐν πόλει μια̨̃ εἱ̃ς πλούσιος καὶ εἱ̃ς πένης (Ⅲ)

- Misit ergo Dominus Nathan ad David : qui cum venisset ad eum, dixit ei : Duo viri erant in civitate una, unus dives, et alter pauper. (Ⅳ)

- ‫ 1 ׃12 וישלח יהוה את נתן אל דוד ויבא אליו ויאמר לו שני אנשים היו בעיר אחת אחד עשיר ואחד ראש ‬ (Ⅴ)

12. 2

The rich man had exceeding many flocks and herds:

- Le riche avait des brebis et des boeufs en très grand nombre. (Ⅱ)

- καὶ τω̨̃ πλουσίω̨ ἠ̃ν ποίμνια καὶ βουκόλια πολλὰ σφόδρα (Ⅲ)

- Dives habebat oves et boves plurimos valde. (Ⅳ)

- ‫ 2 ׃12 לעשיר היה צאן ובקר הרבה מאד ‬ (Ⅴ)

12. 3

But the poor man had nothing, save one little ewe lamb, which he had bought and nourished up: and it grew up together with him, and with his children; it did eat of his own meat, and drank of his own cup, and lay in his bosom, and was unto him as a daughter.

- Le pauvre n'avait rien du tout qu'une petite brebis, qu'il avait achetée; il la nourrissait, et elle grandissait chez lui avec ses enfants; elle mangeait de son pain, buvait dans sa coupe, dormait sur son sein, et il la regardait comme sa fille. (Ⅱ)

- καὶ τω̨̃ πένητι οὐδὲν ἀλλ' ἢ ἀμνὰς μία μικρά ἣν ἐκτήσατο καὶ περιεποιήσατο καὶ ἐξέθρεψεν αὐτήν καὶ ἡδρύνθη μετ' αὐτου̃ καὶ μετὰ τω̃ν υἱω̃ν αὐτου̃ ἐπὶ τὸ αὐτό ἐκ του̃ ἄρτου αὐτου̃ ἤσθιεν καὶ ἐκ του̃ ποτηρίου αὐτου̃ ἔπινεν καὶ ἐν τω̨̃ κόλπω̨ αὐτου̃ ἐκάθευδεν καὶ ἠ̃ν αὐτω̨̃ ὡς θυγάτηρ (Ⅲ)

- Pauper autem nihil habebat omnino, præter ovem unam parvulam quam emerat et nutrierat, et quæ creverat apud eum cum filiis ejus simul, de pane illius comedens, et de calice ejus bibens, et in sinu illius dormiens : eratque illi sicut filia. (Ⅳ)

- ‫ 3 ׃12 ולרש אין כל כי אם כבשה אחת קטנה אשר קנה ויחיה ותגדל עמו ועם בניו יחדו מפתו תאכל ומכסו תשתה ובחיקו תשכב ותהי לו כבת ‬ (Ⅴ)

12. 4

And there came a traveler unto the rich man, and he spared to take of his own flock and of his own herd, to dress for the wayfaring man that was come unto him; but took the poor man's lamb, and dressed it for the man that was come to him.

- Un voyageur arriva chez l'homme riche. Et le riche n'a pas voulu toucher à ses brebis ou à ses boeufs, pour préparer un repas au voyageur qui était venu chez lui; il a pris la brebis du pauvre, et l'a apprêtée pour l'homme qui était venu chez lui. (Ⅱ)

- καὶ ἠ̃λθεν πάροδος τω̨̃ ἀνδρὶ τω̨̃ πλουσίω̨ καὶ ἐφείσατο λαβει̃ν ἐκ τω̃ν ποιμνίων αὐτου̃ καὶ ἐκ τω̃ν βουκολίων αὐτου̃ του̃ ποιη̃σαι τω̨̃ ξένω̨ ὁδοιπόρω̨ ἐλθόντι πρὸς αὐτὸν καὶ ἔλαβεν τὴν ἀμνάδα του̃ πένητος καὶ ἐποίησεν αὐτὴν τω̨̃ ἀνδρὶ τω̨̃ ἐλθόντι πρὸς αὐτόν (Ⅲ)

- Cum autem peregrinus quidam venisset ad divitem, parcens ille sumere de ovibus et de bobus suis, ut exhiberet convivium peregrino illi qui venerat ad se, tulit ovem viri pauperis, et præparavit cibos homini qui venerat ad se. (Ⅳ)

- ‫ 4 ׃12 ויבא הלך לאיש העשיר ויחמל לקחת מצאנו ומבקרו לעשות לארח הבא לו ויקח את כבשת האיש הראש ויעשה לאיש הבא אליו ‬ (Ⅴ)

12. 5

And David's anger was greatly kindled against the man; and he said to Nathan, As the LORD liveth, the man that hath done this thing shall surely die:

- La colère de David s'enflamma violemment contre cet homme, et il dit à Nathan: L'Éternel est vivant! L'homme qui a fait cela mérite la mort. (Ⅱ)

- καὶ ἐθυμώθη ὀργη̨̃ Δαυιδ σφόδρα τω̨̃ ἀνδρί καὶ εἰ̃πεν Δαυιδ πρὸς Ναθαν ζη̨̃ κύριος ὅτι υἱὸς θανάτου ὁ ἀνὴρ ὁ ποιήσας του̃το (Ⅲ)

- Iratus autem indignatione David adversus hominem illum nimis, dixit ad Nathan : Vivit Dominus, quoniam filius mortis est vir qui fecit hoc. (Ⅳ)

- ‫ 5 ׃12 ויחר אף דוד באיש מאד ויאמר אל נתן חי יהוה כי בן מות האיש העשה זאת ‬ (Ⅴ)

12. 6

And he shall restore the lamb fourfold, because he did this thing, and because he had no pity.

- Et il rendra quatre brebis, pour avoir commis cette action et pour avoir été sans pitié. (Ⅱ)

- καὶ τὴν ἀμνάδα ἀποτείσει ἑπταπλασίονα ἀνθ' ὡ̃ν ὅτι ἐποίησεν τὸ ῥη̃μα του̃το καὶ περὶ οὑ̃ οὐκ ἐφείσατο (Ⅲ)

- Ovem reddet in quadruplum, eo quod fecerit verbum istud, et non pepercerit. (Ⅳ)

- ‫ 6 ׃12 ואת הכבשה ישלם ארבעתים עקב אשר עשה את הדבר הזה ועל אשר לא חמל ‬ (Ⅴ)

12. 7

And Nathan said to David, Thou art the man. Thus saith the LORD God of Israel, I anointed thee king over Israel, and I delivered thee out of the hand of Saul;

- Et Nathan dit à David: Tu es cet homme-là! Ainsi parle l'Éternel, le Dieu d'Israël: Je t'ai oint pour roi sur Israël, et je t'ai délivré de la main de Saül; (Ⅱ)

- καὶ εἰ̃πεν Ναθαν πρὸς Δαυιδ σὺ εἰ̃ ὁ ἀνὴρ ὁ ποιήσας του̃το τάδε λέγει κύριος ὁ θεὸς Ισραηλ ἐγώ εἰμι ἔχρισά σε εἰς βασιλέα ἐπὶ Ισραηλ καὶ ἐγώ εἰμι ἐρρυσάμην σε ἐκ χειρὸς Σαουλ (Ⅲ)

- Dixit autem Nathan ad David : Tu es ille vir. Hæc dicit Dominus Deus Israël : Ego unxi te in regem super Israël, et ego erui te de manu Saul, (Ⅳ)

- ‫ 7 ׃12 ויאמר נתן אל דוד אתה האיש כה אמר יהוה אלהי ישראל אנכי משחתיך למלך על ישראל ואנכי הצלתיך מיד שאול ‬ (Ⅴ)

12. 8

And I gave thee thy master's house, and thy master's wives into thy bosom, and gave thee the house of Israel and of Judah; and if that had been too little, I would moreover have given unto thee such and such things.

- je t'ai mis en possession de la maison de ton maître, j'ai placé dans ton sein les femmes de ton maître, et je t'ai donné la maison d'Israël et de Juda. Et si cela eût été peu, j'y aurais encore ajouté. (Ⅱ)

- καὶ ἔδωκά σοι τὸν οἰ̃κον του̃ κυρίου σου καὶ τὰς γυναι̃κας του̃ κυρίου σου ἐν τω̨̃ κόλπω̨ σου καὶ ἔδωκά σοι τὸν οἰ̃κον Ισραηλ καὶ Ιουδα καὶ εἰ μικρόν ἐστιν προσθήσω σοι κατὰ ταυ̃τα (Ⅲ)

- et dedi tibi domum domini tui, et uxores domini tui in sinu tuo, dedique tibi domum Israël et Juda : et si parva sunt ista, adjiciam tibi multo majora. (Ⅳ)

- ‫ 8 ׃12 ואתנה לך את בית אדניך ואת נשי אדניך בחיקך ואתנה לך את בית ישראל ויהודה ואם מעט ואספה לך כהנה וכהנה ‬ (Ⅴ)

12. 9

Wherefore hast thou despised the commandment of the LORD, to do evil in his sight? thou hast killed Uriah the Hittite with the sword, and hast taken his wife to be thy wife, and hast slain him with the sword of the children of Ammon.

- Pourquoi donc as-tu méprisé la parole de l'Éternel, en faisant ce qui est mal à ses yeux? Tu as frappé de l'épée Urie, le Héthien; tu as pris sa femme pour en faire ta femme, et lui, tu l'as tué par l'épée des fils d'Ammon. (Ⅱ)

- τί ὅτι ἐφαύλισας τὸν λόγον κυρίου του̃ ποιη̃σαι τὸ πονηρὸν ἐν ὀφθαλμοι̃ς αὐτου̃ τὸν Ουριαν τὸν Χετται̃ον ἐπάταξας ἐν ῥομφαία̨ καὶ τὴν γυναι̃κα αὐτου̃ ἔλαβες σεαυτω̨̃ εἰς γυναι̃κα καὶ αὐτὸν ἀπέκτεινας ἐν ῥομφαία̨ υἱω̃ν Αμμων (Ⅲ)

- Quare ergo contempsisti verbum Domini, ut faceres malum in conspectu meo ? Uriam Hethæum percussisti gladio, et uxorem illius accepisti in uxorem tibi, et interfecisti eum gladio filiorum Ammon. (Ⅳ)

- ‫ 9 ׃12 מדוע בזית את דבר יהוה לעשות הרע *בעינו **בעיני את אוריה החתי הכית בחרב ואת אשתו לקחת לך לאשה ואתו הרגת בחרב בני עמון ‬ (Ⅴ)

12. 10

Now therefore the sword shall never depart from thine house; because thou hast despised me, and hast taken the wife of Uriah the Hittite to be thy wife.

- Maintenant, l'épée ne s'éloignera jamais de ta maison, parce que tu m'as méprisé, et parce que tu as pris la femme d'Urie, le Héthien, pour en faire ta femme. (Ⅱ)

- καὶ νυ̃ν οὐκ ἀποστήσεται ῥομφαία ἐκ του̃ οἴκου σου ἕως αἰω̃νος ἀνθ' ὡ̃ν ὅτι ἐξουδένωσάς με καὶ ἔλαβες τὴν γυναι̃κα του̃ Ουριου του̃ Χετταίου του̃ εἰ̃ναί σοι εἰς γυναι̃κα (Ⅲ)

- Quam ob rem non recedet gladius de domo tua usque in sempiternum, eo quod despexeris me, et tuleris uxorem Uriæ Hethæi ut esset uxor tua. (Ⅳ)

- ‫ 10 ׃12 ועתה לא תסור חרב מביתך עד עולם עקב כי בזתני ותקח את אשת אוריה החתי להיות לך לאשה ס‬ (Ⅴ)

12. 11

Thus saith the LORD, Behold, I will raise up evil against thee out of thine own house, and I will take thy wives before thine eyes, and give them unto thy neighbor, and he shall lie with thy wives in the sight of this sun.

- Ainsi parle l'Éternel: Voici, je vais faire sortir de ta maison le malheur contre toi, et je vais prendre sous tes yeux tes propres femmes pour les donner à un autre, qui couchera avec elles à la vue de ce soleil. (Ⅱ)

- τάδε λέγει κύριος ἰδοὺ ἐγὼ ἐξεγείρω ἐπὶ σὲ κακὰ ἐκ του̃ οἴκου σου καὶ λήμψομαι τὰς γυναι̃κάς σου κατ' ὀφθαλμούς σου καὶ δώσω τω̨̃ πλησίον σου καὶ κοιμηθήσεται μετὰ τω̃ν γυναικω̃ν σου ἐναντίον του̃ ἡλίου τούτου (Ⅲ)

- Itaque hæc dicit Dominus : Ecce ego suscitabo super te malum de domo tua, et tollam uxores tuas in oculis tuis, et dabo proximo tuo : et dormiet cum uxoribus tuis in oculis solis hujus. (Ⅳ)

- ‫ 11 ׃12 כה אמר יהוה הנני מקים עליך רעה מביתך ולקחתי את נשיך לעיניך ונתתי לרעיך ושכב עם נשיך לעיני השמש הזאת ‬ (Ⅴ)

12. 12

For thou didst it secretly: but I will do this thing before all Israel, and before the sun.

- Car tu as agi en secret; et moi, je ferai cela en présence de tout Israël et à la face du soleil. (Ⅱ)

- ὅτι σὺ ἐποίησας κρυβη̨̃ κἀγὼ ποιήσω τὸ ῥη̃μα του̃το ἐναντίον παντὸς Ισραηλ καὶ ἀπέναντι τούτου του̃ ἡλίου (Ⅲ)

- Tu enim fecisti abscondite : ego autem faciam verbum istud in conspectu omnis Israël, et in conspectu solis.\ (Ⅳ)

- ‫ 12 ׃12 כי אתה עשית בסתר ואני אעשה את הדבר הזה נגד כל ישראל ונגד השמש ס‬ (Ⅴ)

12. 13

And David said unto Nathan, I have sinned against the LORD. And Nathan said unto David, The LORD also hath put away thy sin; thou shalt not die.

- David dit à Nathan: J'ai péché contre l'Éternel! Et Nathan dit à David: L'Éternel pardonne ton péché, tu ne mourras point. (Ⅱ)

- καὶ εἰ̃πεν Δαυιδ τω̨̃ Ναθαν ἡμάρτηκα τω̨̃ κυρίω̨ καὶ εἰ̃πεν Ναθαν πρὸς Δαυιδ καὶ κύριος παρεβίβασεν τὸ ἁμάρτημά σου οὐ μὴ ἀποθάνη̨ς (Ⅲ)

- Et dixit David ad Nathan : Peccavi Domino. Dixitque Nathan ad David : Dominus quoque transtulit peccatum tuum : non morieris. (Ⅳ)

- ‫ 13 ׃12 ויאמר דוד אל נתן חטאתי ליהוה סויאמר נתן אל דוד גם יהוה העביר חטאתך לא תמות ‬ (Ⅴ)

12. 14

Howbeit, because by this deed thou hast given great occasion to the enemies of the LORD to blaspheme, the child also that is born unto thee shall surely die.

- Mais, parce que tu as fait blasphémer les ennemis de l'Éternel, en commettant cette action, le fils qui t'est né mourra. (Ⅱ)

- πλὴν ὅτι παροξύνων παρώξυνας τοὺς ἐχθροὺς κυρίου ἐν τω̨̃ ῥήματι τούτω̨ καί γε ὁ υἱός σου ὁ τεχθείς σοι θανάτω̨ ἀποθανει̃ται (Ⅲ)

- Verumtamen quoniam blasphemare fecisti inimicos Domini, propter verbum hoc, filius qui natus est tibi, morte morietur. (Ⅳ)

- ‫ 14 ׃12 אפס כי נאץ נאצת את איבי יהוה בדבר הזה גם הבן הילוד לך מות ימות ‬ (Ⅴ)

12. 15

And Nathan departed unto his house. And the LORD struck the child that Uriah's wife bare unto David, and it was very sick.

- Et Nathan s'en alla dans sa maison. L'Éternel frappa l'enfant que la femme d'Urie avait enfanté à David, et il fut dangereusement malade. (Ⅱ)

- καὶ ἀπη̃λθεν Ναθαν εἰς τὸν οἰ̃κον αὐτου̃ καὶ ἔθραυσεν κύριος τὸ παιδίον ὃ ἔτεκεν ἡ γυνὴ Ουριου τω̨̃ Δαυιδ καὶ ἠρρώστησεν (Ⅲ)

- Et reversus est Nathan in domum suam. Percussit quoque Dominus parvulum quem pepererat uxor Uriæ David, et desperatus est. (Ⅳ)

- ‫ 15 ׃12 וילך נתן אל ביתו ויגף יהוה את הילד אשר ילדה אשת אוריה לדוד ויאנש ‬ (Ⅴ)

12. 16

David therefore besought God for the child; and David fasted, and went in, and lay all night upon the earth.

- David pria Dieu pour l'enfant, et jeûna; et quand il rentra, il passa la nuit couché par terre. (Ⅱ)

- καὶ ἐζήτησεν Δαυιδ τὸν θεὸν περὶ του̃ παιδαρίου καὶ ἐνήστευσεν Δαυιδ νηστείαν καὶ εἰση̃λθεν καὶ ηὐλίσθη ἐν σάκκω̨ ἐπὶ τη̃ς γη̃ς (Ⅲ)

- Deprecatusque est David Dominum pro parvulo : et jejunavit David jejunio, et ingressus seorsum, jacuit super terram. (Ⅳ)

- ‫ 16 ׃12 ויבקש דוד את האלהים בעד הנער ויצם דוד צום ובא ולן ושכב ארצה ‬ (Ⅴ)

12. 17

And the elders of his house arose, and went to him, to raise him up from the earth: but he would not, neither did he eat bread with them.

- Les anciens de sa maison insistèrent auprès de lui pour le faire lever de terre; mais il ne voulut point, et il ne mangea rien avec eux. (Ⅱ)

- καὶ ἀνέστησαν ἐπ' αὐτὸν οἱ πρεσβύτεροι του̃ οἴκου αὐτου̃ του̃ ἐγει̃ραι αὐτὸν ἀπὸ τη̃ς γη̃ς καὶ οὐκ ἠθέλησεν καὶ οὐ συνέφαγεν αὐτοι̃ς ἄρτον (Ⅲ)

- Venerunt autem seniores domus ejus, cogentes eum ut surgeret de terra : qui noluit, nec comedit cum eis cibum. (Ⅳ)

- ‫ 17 ׃12 ויקמו זקני ביתו עליו להקימו מן הארץ ולא אבה ולא ברא אתם לחם ‬ (Ⅴ)

12. 18

And it came to pass on the seventh day, that the child died. And the servants of David feared to tell him that the child was dead: for they said, Behold, while the child was yet alive, we spake unto him, and he would not hearken unto our voice: how will he then vex himself, if we tell him that the child is dead?

- Le septième jour, l'enfant mourut. Les serviteurs de David craignaient de lui annoncer que l'enfant était mort. Car ils disaient: Voici, lorsque l'enfant vivait encore, nous lui avons parlé, et il ne nous a pas écoutés; comment oserons-nous lui dire: L'enfant est mort? Il s'affligera bien davantage. (Ⅱ)

- καὶ ἐγένετο ἐν τη̨̃ ἡμέρα̨ τη̨̃ ἑβδόμη̨ καὶ ἀπέθανε τὸ παιδάριον καὶ ἐφοβήθησαν οἱ δου̃λοι Δαυιδ ἀναγγει̃λαι αὐτω̨̃ ὅτι τέθνηκεν τὸ παιδάριον ὅτι εἰ̃παν ἰδοὺ ἐν τω̨̃ ἔτι τὸ παιδάριον ζη̃ν ἐλαλήσαμεν πρὸς αὐτόν καὶ οὐκ εἰσήκουσεν τη̃ς φωνη̃ς ἡμω̃ν καὶ πω̃ς εἴπωμεν πρὸς αὐτὸν ὅτι τέθνηκεν τὸ παιδάριον καὶ ποιήσει κακά (Ⅲ)

- Accidit autem die septima ut moreretur infans : timueruntque servi David nuntiare ei quod mortuus esset parvulus : dixerunt enim : Ecce cum parvulus adhuc viveret, loquebamur ad eum, et non audiebat vocem nostram : quanto magis si dixerimus : Mortuus est puer, se affliget ? (Ⅳ)

- ‫ 18 ׃12 ויהי ביום השביעי וימת הילד ויראו עבדי דוד להגיד לו כי מת הילד כי אמרו הנה בהיות הילד חי דברנו אליו ולא שמע בקולנו ואיך נאמר אליו מת הילד ועשה רעה ‬ (Ⅴ)

12. 19

But when David saw that his servants whispered, David perceived that the child was dead: therefore David said unto his servants, Is the child dead? And they said, He is dead.

- David aperçut que ses serviteurs parlaient tout bas entre eux, et il comprit que l'enfant était mort. Il dit à ses serviteurs: L'enfant est-il mort? Et ils répondirent: Il est mort. (Ⅱ)

- καὶ συνη̃κεν Δαυιδ ὅτι οἱ παι̃δες αὐτου̃ ψιθυρίζουσιν καὶ ἐνόησεν Δαυιδ ὅτι τέθνηκεν τὸ παιδάριον καὶ εἰ̃πεν Δαυιδ πρὸς τοὺς παι̃δας αὐτου̃ εἰ τέθνηκεν τὸ παιδάριον καὶ εἰ̃παν τέθνηκεν (Ⅲ)

- Cum ergo David vidisset servos suos mussitantes, intellexit quod mortuus esset infantulus : dixitque ad servos suos : Num mortuus est puer ? Qui responderunt ei : Mortuus est.\ (Ⅳ)

- ‫ 19 ׃12 וירא דוד כי עבדיו מתלחשים ויבן דוד כי מת הילד ויאמר דוד אל עבדיו המת הילד ויאמרו מת ‬ (Ⅴ)

12. 20

Then David arose from the earth, and washed, and anointed himself, and changed his apparel, and came into the house of the LORD, and worshipped: then he came to his own house; and when he required, they set bread before him, and he did eat.

- Alors David se leva de terre. Il se lava, s'oignit, et changea de vêtements; puis il alla dans la maison de l'Éternel, et se prosterna. De retour chez lui, il demanda qu'on lui servît à manger, et il mangea. (Ⅱ)

- καὶ ἀνέστη Δαυιδ ἐκ τη̃ς γη̃ς καὶ ἐλούσατο καὶ ἠλείψατο καὶ ἤλλαξεν τὰ ἱμάτια αὐτου̃ καὶ εἰση̃λθεν εἰς τὸν οἰ̃κον του̃ θεου̃ καὶ προσεκύνησεν αὐτω̨̃ καὶ εἰση̃λθεν εἰς τὸν οἰ̃κον αὐτου̃ καὶ ἤ̨τησεν ἄρτον φαγει̃ν καὶ παρέθηκαν αὐτω̨̃ ἄρτον καὶ ἔφαγεν (Ⅲ)

- Surrexit ergo David de terra, et lotus unctusque est : cumque mutasset vestem, ingressus est domum Domini : et adoravit, et venit in domum suam, petivitque ut ponerent ei panem, et comedit. (Ⅳ)

- ‫ 20 ׃12 ויקם דוד מהארץ וירחץ ויסך ויחלף *שמלתו **שמלתיו ויבא בית יהוה וישתחו ויבא אל ביתו וישאל וישימו לו לחם ויאכל ‬ (Ⅴ)

12. 21

Then said his servants unto him, What thing is this that thou hast done? thou didst fast and weep for the child, while it was alive; but when the child was dead, thou didst rise and eat bread.

- Ses serviteurs lui dirent: Que signifie ce que tu fais? Tandis que l'enfant vivait, tu jeûnais et tu pleurais; et maintenant que l'enfant est mort, tu te lèves et tu manges! (Ⅱ)

- καὶ εἰ̃παν οἱ παι̃δες αὐτου̃ πρὸς αὐτόν τί τὸ ῥη̃μα του̃το ὃ ἐποίησας ἕνεκα του̃ παιδαρίου ἔτι ζω̃ντος ἐνήστευες καὶ ἔκλαιες καὶ ἠγρύπνεις καὶ ἡνίκα ἀπέθανεν τὸ παιδάριον ἀνέστης καὶ ἔφαγες ἄρτον καὶ πέπωκας (Ⅲ)

- Dixerunt autem ei servi sui : Quis est sermo quem fecisti ? propter infantem, cum adhuc viveret, jejunasti et flebas : mortuo autem puero, surrexisti, et comedisti panem. (Ⅳ)

- ‫ 21 ׃12 ויאמרו עבדיו אליו מה הדבר הזה אשר עשיתה בעבור הילד חי צמת ותבך וכאשר מת הילד קמת ותאכל לחם ‬ (Ⅴ)

12. 22

And he said, While the child was yet alive, I fasted and wept: for I said, Who can tell whether GOD will be gracious to me, that the child may live?

- Il répondit: Lorsque l'enfant vivait encore, je jeûnais et je pleurais, car je disais: Qui sait si l'Éternel n'aura pas pitié de moi et si l'enfant ne vivra pas? (Ⅱ)

- καὶ εἰ̃πεν Δαυιδ ἐν τω̨̃ τὸ παιδάριον ἔτι ζη̃ν ἐνήστευσα καὶ ἔκλαυσα ὅτι εἰ̃πα τίς οἰ̃δεν εἰ ἐλεήσει με κύριος καὶ ζήσεται τὸ παιδάριον (Ⅲ)

- Qui ait : Propter infantem, dum adhuc viveret, jejunavi et flevi : dicebam enim : Quis scit si forte donet eum mihi Dominus, et vivat infans ? (Ⅳ)

- ‫ 22 ׃12 ויאמר בעוד הילד חי צמתי ואבכה כי אמרתי מי יודע *יחנני **וחנני יהוה וחי הילד ‬ (Ⅴ)

12. 23

But now he is dead, wherefore should I fast? can I bring him back again? I shall go to him, but he shall not return to me.

- Maintenant qu'il est mort, pourquoi jeûnerais-je? Puis-je le faire revenir? J'irai vers lui, mais il ne reviendra pas vers moi. (Ⅱ)

- καὶ νυ̃ν τέθνηκεν ἵνα τί του̃το ἐγὼ νηστεύω μὴ δυνήσομαι ἐπιστρέψαι αὐτὸ ἔτι ἐγὼ πορεύσομαι πρὸς αὐτόν καὶ αὐτὸς οὐκ ἀναστρέψει πρός με (Ⅲ)

- Nunc autem quia mortuus est, quare jejunem ? numquid potero revocare eum amplius ? ego vadam magis ad eum : ille vero non revertetur ad me. (Ⅳ)

- ‫ 23 ׃12 ועתה מת למה זה אני צם האוכל להשיבו עוד אני הלך אליו והוא לא ישוב אלי ‬ (Ⅴ)

12. 24

And David comforted Bathsheba his wife, and went in unto her, and lay with her: and she bare a son, and he called his name Solomon: and the LORD loved him.

- David consola Bath Schéba, sa femme, et il alla auprès d'elle et coucha avec elle. Elle enfanta un fils qu'il appela Salomon, et qui fut aimé de l'Éternel. (Ⅱ)

- καὶ παρεκάλεσεν Δαυιδ Βηρσαβεε τὴν γυναι̃κα αὐτου̃ καὶ εἰση̃λθεν πρὸς αὐτὴν καὶ ἐκοιμήθη μετ' αὐτη̃ς καὶ συνέλαβεν καὶ ἔτεκεν υἱόν καὶ ἐκάλεσεν τὸ ὄνομα αὐτου̃ Σαλωμων καὶ κύριος ἠγάπησεν αὐτόν (Ⅲ)

- Et consolatus est David Bethsabee uxorem suam, ingressusque ad eam dormivit cum ea : quæ genuit filium, et vocavit nomen ejus Salomon : et Dominus dilexit eum. (Ⅳ)

- ‫ 24 ׃12 וינחם דוד את בת שבע אשתו ויבא אליה וישכב עמה ותלד בן *ויקרא **ותקרא את שמו שלמה ויהוה אהבו ‬ (Ⅴ)

12. 25

And he sent by the hand of Nathan the prophet; and he called his name Jedidiah, because of the LORD.

- Il le remit entre les mains de Nathan le prophète, et Nathan lui donna le nom de Jedidja, à cause de l'Éternel. (Ⅱ)

- καὶ ἀπέστειλεν ἐν χειρὶ Ναθαν του̃ προφήτου καὶ ἐκάλεσεν τὸ ὄνομα αὐτου̃ Ιδεδι ἕνεκεν κυρίου (Ⅲ)

- Misitque in manu Nathan prophetæ, et vocavit nomen ejus, Amabilis Domino, eo quod diligeret eum Dominus.\ (Ⅳ)

- ‫ 25 ׃12 וישלח ביד נתן הנביא ויקרא את שמו ידידיה בעבור יהוה פ‬ (Ⅴ)

12. 26

And Joab fought against Rabbah of the children of Ammon, and took the royal city.

- Joab, qui assiégeait Rabba des fils d'Ammon, s'empara de la ville royale, (Ⅱ)

- καὶ ἐπολέμησεν Ιωαβ ἐν Ραββαθ υἱω̃ν Αμμων καὶ κατέλαβεν τὴν πόλιν τη̃ς βασιλείας (Ⅲ)

- Igitur pugnabat Joab contra Rabbath filiorum Ammon, et expugnabat urbem regiam. (Ⅳ)

- ‫ 26 ׃12 וילחם יואב ברבת בני עמון וילכד את עיר המלוכה ‬ (Ⅴ)

12. 27

And Joab sent messengers to David, and said, I have fought against Rabbah, and have taken the city of waters.

- et envoya des messagers à David pour lui dire: J'ai attaqué Rabba, et je me suis déjà emparé de la ville des eaux; (Ⅱ)

- καὶ ἀπέστειλεν Ιωαβ ἀγγέλους πρὸς Δαυιδ καὶ εἰ̃πεν ἐπολέμησα ἐν Ραββαθ καὶ κατελαβόμην τὴν πόλιν τω̃ν ὑδάτων (Ⅲ)

- Misitque Joab nuntios ad David, dicens : Dimicavi adversum Rabbath, et capienda est Urbs aquarum. (Ⅳ)

- ‫ 27 ׃12 וישלח יואב מלאכים אל דוד ויאמר נלחמתי ברבה גם לכדתי את עיר המים ‬ (Ⅴ)

12. 28

Now therefore gather the rest of the people together, and encamp against the city, and take it: lest I take the city, and it be called after my name.

- rassemble maintenant le reste du peuple, campe contre la ville, et prends-la, de peur que je ne la prenne moi-même et que la gloire ne m'en soit attribuée. (Ⅱ)

- καὶ νυ̃ν συνάγαγε τὸ κατάλοιπον του̃ λαου̃ καὶ παρέμβαλε ἐπὶ τὴν πόλιν καὶ προκαταλαβου̃ αὐτήν ἵνα μὴ προκαταλάβωμαι ἐγὼ τὴν πόλιν καὶ κληθη̨̃ τὸ ὄνομά μου ἐπ' αὐτήν (Ⅲ)

- Nunc igitur congrega reliquam partem populi, et obside civitatem, et cape eam : ne cum a me vastata fuerit urbs, nomini meo ascribatur victoria. (Ⅳ)

- ‫ 28 ׃12 ועתה אסף את יתר העם וחנה על העיר ולכדה פן אלכד אני את העיר ונקרא שמי עליה ‬ (Ⅴ)

12. 29

And David gathered all the people together, and went to Rabbah, and fought against it, and took it.

- David rassembla tout le peuple, et marcha sur Rabba; il l'attaqua, et s'en rendit maître. (Ⅱ)

- καὶ συνήγαγεν Δαυιδ πάντα τὸν λαὸν καὶ ἐπορεύθη εἰς Ραββαθ καὶ ἐπολέμησεν ἐν αὐτη̨̃ καὶ κατελάβετο αὐτήν (Ⅲ)

- Congregavit itaque David omnem populum, et profectus est adversum Rabbath : cumque dimicasset, cepit eam. (Ⅳ)

- ‫ 29 ׃12 ויאסף דוד את כל העם וילך רבתה וילחם בה וילכדה ‬ (Ⅴ)

12. 30

And he took their king's crown from off his head, the weight whereof was a talent of gold with the precious stones: and it was set on David's head. And he brought forth the spoil of the city in great abundance.

- Il enleva la couronne de dessus la tête de son roi: elle pesait un talent d'or et était garnie de pierres précieuses. On la mit sur la tête de David, qui emporta de la ville un très grand butin. (Ⅱ)

- καὶ ἔλαβεν τὸν στέφανον Μελχολ του̃ βασιλέως αὐτω̃ν ἀπὸ τη̃ς κεφαλη̃ς αὐτου̃ καὶ ὁ σταθμὸς αὐτου̃ τάλαντον χρυσίου καὶ λίθου τιμίου καὶ ἠ̃ν ἐπὶ τη̃ς κεφαλη̃ς Δαυιδ καὶ σκυ̃λα τη̃ς πόλεως ἐξήνεγκεν πολλὰ σφόδρα (Ⅲ)

- Et tulit diadema regis eorum de capite ejus, pondo auri talentum, habens gemmas pretiosissimas : et impositum est super caput David. Sed et prædam civitatis asportavit multam valde : (Ⅳ)

- ‫ 30 ׃12 ויקח את עטרת מלכם מעל ראשו ומשקלה ככר זהב ואבן יקרה ותהי על ראש דוד ושלל העיר הוציא הרבה מאד ‬ (Ⅴ)

12. 31

And he brought forth the people that were therein, and put them under saws, and under harrows of iron, and under axes of iron, and made them pass through the brick-kiln: and thus did he unto all the cities of the children of Ammon. So David and all the people returned unto Jerusalem.

- Il fit sortir les habitants, et il les plaça sous des scies, des herses de fer et des haches de fer, et les fit passer par des fours à briques; il traita de même toutes les villes des fils d'Ammon. David retourna à Jérusalem avec tout le peuple. (Ⅱ)

- καὶ τὸν λαὸν τὸν ὄντα ἐν αὐτη̨̃ ἐξήγαγεν καὶ ἔθηκεν ἐν τω̨̃ πρίονι καὶ ἐν τοι̃ς τριβόλοις τοι̃ς σιδηροι̃ς καὶ διήγαγεν αὐτοὺς διὰ του̃ πλινθείου καὶ οὕτως ἐποίησεν πάσαις ται̃ς πόλεσιν υἱω̃ν Αμμων καὶ ἐπέστρεψεν Δαυιδ καὶ πα̃ς ὁ λαὸς εἰς Ιερουσαλημ (Ⅲ)

- populum quoque ejus adducens serravit, et circumegit super eos ferrata carpenta : divisitque cultris, et traduxit in typo laterum : sic fecit universis civitatibus filiorum Ammon. Et reversus est David et omnis exercitus in Jerusalem. (Ⅳ)

- ‫ 31 ׃12 ואת העם אשר בה הוציא וישם במגרה ובחרצי הברזל ובמגזרת הברזל והעביר אותם *במלכן **במלבן וכן יעשה לכל ערי בני עמון וישב דוד וכל העם ירושלם פ‬ (Ⅴ)
