23. 1

Thou shalt not raise a false report: put not thine hand with the wicked to be an unrighteous witness.

- Tu ne répandras point de faux bruit. Tu ne te joindras point au méchant pour faire un faux témoignage. (Ⅱ)

- οὐ παραδέξη̨ ἀκοὴν ματαίαν οὐ συγκαταθήση̨ μετὰ του̃ ἀδίκου γενέσθαι μάρτυς ἄδικος (Ⅲ)

- Non suscipies vocem mendacii, nec junges manum tuam ut pro impio dicas falsum testimonium. (Ⅳ)

- ‫ 1 ׃23 לא תשא שמע שוא אל תשת ידך עם רשע להית עד חמס ס‬ (Ⅴ)

23. 2

Thou shalt not follow a multitude to do evil; neither shalt thou speak in a cause to decline after many to wrest judgment:

- Tu ne suivras point la multitude pour faire le mal; et tu ne déposeras point dans un procès en te mettant du côté du grand nombre, pour violer la justice. (Ⅱ)

- οὐκ ἔση̨ μετὰ πλειόνων ἐπὶ κακία̨ οὐ προστεθήση̨ μετὰ πλήθους ἐκκλι̃ναι μετὰ πλειόνων ὥστε ἐκκλι̃ναι κρίσιν (Ⅲ)

- Non sequeris turbam ad faciendum malum : nec in judicio, plurimorum acquiesces sententiæ, ut a vero devies. (Ⅳ)

- ‫ 2 ׃23 לא תהיה אחרי רבים לרעת ולא תענה על רב לנטת אחרי רבים להטת ‬ (Ⅴ)

23. 3

Neither shalt thou countenance a poor man in his cause.

- Tu ne favoriseras point le pauvre dans son procès. (Ⅱ)

- καὶ πένητα οὐκ ἐλεήσεις ἐν κρίσει (Ⅲ)

- Pauperis quoque non misereberis in judicio. (Ⅳ)

- ‫ 3 ׃23 ודל לא תהדר בריבו ס‬ (Ⅴ)

23. 4

If thou meet thine enemy's ox or his ass going astray, thou shalt surely bring it back to him again.

- Si tu rencontres le boeuf de ton ennemi ou son âne égaré, tu le lui ramèneras. (Ⅱ)

- ἐὰν δὲ συναντήση̨ς τω̨̃ βοὶ του̃ ἐχθρου̃ σου ἢ τω̨̃ ὑποζυγίω̨ αὐτου̃ πλανωμένοις ἀποστρέψας ἀποδώσεις αὐτω̨̃ (Ⅲ)

- Si occurreris bovi inimici tui, aut asino erranti, reduc ad eum. (Ⅳ)

- ‫ 4 ׃23 כי תפגע שור איבך או חמרו תעה השב תשיבנו לו ס‬ (Ⅴ)

23. 5

If thou see the ass of him that hateth thee lying under his burden, and wouldest forbear to help him, thou shalt surely help with him.

- Si tu vois l'âne de ton ennemi succombant sous sa charge, et que tu hésites à le décharger, tu l'aideras à le décharger. (Ⅱ)

- ἐὰν δὲ ἴδη̨ς τὸ ὑποζύγιον του̃ ἐχθρου̃ σου πεπτωκὸς ὑπὸ τὸν γόμον αὐτου̃ οὐ παρελεύση̨ αὐτό ἀλλὰ συνεγερει̃ς αὐτὸ μετ' αὐτου̃ (Ⅲ)

- Si videris asinum odientis te jacere sub onere, non pertransibis, sed sublevabis cum eo. (Ⅳ)

- ‫ 5 ׃23 כי תראה חמור שנאך רבץ תחת משאו וחדלת מעזב לו עזב תעזב עמו ס‬ (Ⅴ)

23. 6

Thou shalt not wrest the judgment of thy poor in his cause.

- Tu ne porteras point atteinte au droit du pauvre dans son procès. (Ⅱ)

- οὐ διαστρέψεις κρίμα πένητος ἐν κρίσει αὐτου̃ (Ⅲ)

- Non declinabis in judicium pauperis. (Ⅳ)

- ‫ 6 ׃23 לא תטה משפט אבינך בריבו ‬ (Ⅴ)

23. 7

Keep thee far from a false matter; and the innocent and righteous slay thou not: for I will not justify the wicked.

- Tu ne prononceras point de sentence inique, et tu ne feras point mourir l'innocent et le juste; car je n'absoudrai point le coupable. (Ⅱ)

- ἀπὸ παντὸς ῥήματος ἀδίκου ἀποστήση̨ ἀθω̨̃ον καὶ δίκαιον οὐκ ἀποκτενει̃ς καὶ οὐ δικαιώσεις τὸν ἀσεβη̃ ἕνεκεν δώρων (Ⅲ)

- Mendacium fugies. Insontem et justum non occides : quia aversor impium. (Ⅳ)

- ‫ 7 ׃23 מדבר שקר תרחק ונקי וצדיק אל תהרג כי לא אצדיק רשע ‬ (Ⅴ)

23. 8

And thou shalt take no gift: for the gift blindeth the wise, and perverteth the words of the righteous.

- Tu ne recevras point de présent; car les présents aveuglent ceux qui ont les yeux ouverts et corrompent les paroles des justes. (Ⅱ)

- καὶ δω̃ρα οὐ λήμψη̨ τὰ γὰρ δω̃ρα ἐκτυφλοι̃ ὀφθαλμοὺς βλεπόντων καὶ λυμαίνεται ῥήματα δίκαια (Ⅲ)

- Nec accipies munera, quæ etiam excæcant prudentes, et subvertunt verba justorum. (Ⅳ)

- ‫ 8 ׃23 ושחד לא תקח כי השחד יעור פקחים ויסלף דברי צדיקים ‬ (Ⅴ)

23. 9

Also thou shalt not oppress a stranger: for ye know the heart of a stranger, seeing ye were strangers in the land of Egypt.

- Tu n'opprimeras point l'étranger; vous savez ce qu'éprouve l'étranger, car vous avez été étrangers dans le pays d'Égypte. (Ⅱ)

- καὶ προσήλυτον οὐ θλίψετε ὑμει̃ς γὰρ οἴδατε τὴν ψυχὴν του̃ προσηλύτου αὐτοὶ γὰρ προσήλυτοι ἠ̃τε ἐν γη̨̃ Αἰγύπτω̨ (Ⅲ)

- Peregrino molestus non eris. Scitis enim advenarum animas : quia et ipsi peregrini fuistis in terra Ægypti.\ (Ⅳ)

- ‫ 9 ׃23 וגר לא תלחץ ואתם ידעתם את נפש הגר כי גרים הייתם בארץ מצרים ‬ (Ⅴ)

23. 10

And six years thou shalt sow thy land, and shalt gather in the fruits thereof:

- Pendant six années, tu ensemenceras la terre, et tu en recueilleras le produit. (Ⅱ)

- ἓξ ἔτη σπερει̃ς τὴν γη̃ν σου καὶ συνάξεις τὰ γενήματα αὐτη̃ς (Ⅲ)

- Sex annis seminabis terram tuam, et congregabis fruges ejus : (Ⅳ)

- ‫ 10 ׃23 ושש שנים תזרע את ארצך ואספת את תבואתה ‬ (Ⅴ)

23. 11

But the seventh year thou shalt let it rest and lie still; that the poor of thy people may eat: and what they leave the beasts of the field shall eat. In like manner thou shalt deal with thy vineyard, and with thy oliveyard.

- Mais la septième, tu lui donneras du relâche et tu la laisseras en repos; les pauvres de ton peuple en jouiront, et les bêtes des champs mangeront ce qui restera. Tu feras de même pour ta vigne et pour tes oliviers. (Ⅱ)

- τω̨̃ δὲ ἑβδόμω̨ ἄφεσιν ποιήσεις καὶ ἀνήσεις αὐτήν καὶ ἔδονται οἱ πτωχοὶ του̃ ἔθνους σου τὰ δὲ ὑπολειπόμενα ἔδεται τὰ ἄγρια θηρία οὕτως ποιήσεις τὸν ἀμπελω̃νά σου καὶ τὸν ἐλαιω̃νά σου (Ⅲ)

- anno autem septimo dimittes eam, et requiescere facies, ut comedant pauperes populi tui : et quidquid reliquum fuerit, edant bestiæ agri : ita facies in vinea et in oliveto tuo. (Ⅳ)

- ‫ 11 ׃23 והשביעת תשמטנה ונטשתה ואכלו אביני עמך ויתרם תאכל חית השדה כן תעשה לכרמך לזיתך ‬ (Ⅴ)

23. 12

Six days thou shalt do thy work, and on the seventh day thou shalt rest: that thine ox and thine ass may rest, and the son of thy handmaid, and the stranger, may be refreshed.

- Pendant six jours, tu feras ton ouvrage. Mais le septième jour, tu te reposeras, afin que ton boeuf et ton âne aient du repos, afin que le fils de ton esclave et l'étranger aient du relâche. (Ⅱ)

- ἓξ ἡμέρας ποιήσεις τὰ ἔργα σου τη̨̃ δὲ ἡμέρα̨ τη̨̃ ἑβδόμη̨ ἀνάπαυσις ἵνα ἀναπαύσηται ὁ βου̃ς σου καὶ τὸ ὑποζύγιόν σου καὶ ἵνα ἀναψύξη̨ ὁ υἱὸς τη̃ς παιδίσκης σου καὶ ὁ προσήλυτος (Ⅲ)

- Sex diebus operaberis : septimo die cessabis, ut requiescat bos et asinus tuus, et refrigeretur filius ancillæ tuæ, et advena. (Ⅳ)

- ‫ 12 ׃23 ששת ימים תעשה מעשיך וביום השביעי תשבת למען ינוח שורך וחמרך וינפש בן אמתך והגר ‬ (Ⅴ)

23. 13

And in all things that I have said unto you be circumspect: and make no mention of the name of other gods, neither let it be heard out of thy mouth.

- Vous observerez tout ce que je vous ai dit, et vous ne prononcerez point le nom d'autres dieux: qu'on ne l'entende point sortir de votre bouche. (Ⅱ)

- πάντα ὅσα εἴρηκα πρὸς ὑμα̃ς φυλάξασθε καὶ ὄνομα θεω̃ν ἑτέρων οὐκ ἀναμνησθήσεσθε οὐδὲ μὴ ἀκουσθη̨̃ ἐκ του̃ στόματος ὑμω̃ν (Ⅲ)

- Omnia quæ dixi vobis, custodite. Et per nomen externorum deorum non jurabitis, neque audietur ex ore vestro.\ (Ⅳ)

- ‫ 13 ׃23 ובכל אשר אמרתי אליכם תשמרו ושם אלהים אחרים לא תזכירו לא ישמע על פיך ‬ (Ⅴ)

23. 14

Three times thou shalt keep a feast unto me in the year.

- Trois fois par année, tu célébreras des fêtes en mon honneur. (Ⅱ)

- τρει̃ς καιροὺς του̃ ἐνιαυτου̃ ἑορτάσατέ μοι (Ⅲ)

- Tribus vicibus per singulos annos mihi festa celebrabitis. (Ⅳ)

- ‫ 14 ׃23 שלש רגלים תחג לי בשנה ‬ (Ⅴ)

23. 15

Thou shalt keep the feast of unleavened bread: (thou shalt eat unleavened bread seven days, as I commanded thee, in the time appointed of the month Abib; for in it thou camest out from Egypt: and none shall appear before me empty:)

- Tu observeras la fête des pains sans levain; pendant sept jours, au temps fixé dans le mois des épis, tu mangeras des pains sans levain, comme je t'en ai donné l'ordre, car c'est dans ce mois que tu es sorti d'Égypte; et l'on ne se présentera point à vide devant ma face. (Ⅱ)

- τὴν ἑορτὴν τω̃ν ἀζύμων φυλάξασθε ποιει̃ν ἑπτὰ ἡμέρας ἔδεσθε ἄζυμα καθάπερ ἐνετειλάμην σοι κατὰ τὸν καιρὸν του̃ μηνὸς τω̃ν νέων ἐν γὰρ αὐτω̨̃ ἐξη̃λθες ἐξ Αἰγύπτου οὐκ ὀφθήση̨ ἐνώπιόν μου κενός (Ⅲ)

- Solemnitatem azymorum custodies. Septem diebus comedes azyma, sicut præcepi tibi, tempore mensis novorum, quando egressus es de Ægypto : non apparebis in conspectu meo vacuus. (Ⅳ)

- ‫ 15 ׃23 את חג המצות תשמר שבעת ימים תאכל מצות כאשר צויתך למועד חדש האביב כי בו יצאת ממצרים ולא יראו פני ריקם ‬ (Ⅴ)

23. 16

And the feast of harvest, the firstfruits of thy labors, which thou hast sown in the field: and the feast of ingathering, which is in the end of the year, when thou hast gathered in thy labors out of the field.

- Tu observeras la fête de la moisson, des prémices de ton travail, de ce que tu auras semé dans les champs; et la fête de la récolte, à la fin de l'année, quand tu recueilleras des champs le fruit de ton travail. (Ⅱ)

- καὶ ἑορτὴν θερισμου̃ πρωτογενημάτων ποιήσεις τω̃ν ἔργων σου ὡ̃ν ἐὰν σπείρη̨ς ἐν τω̨̃ ἀγρω̨̃ σου καὶ ἑορτὴν συντελείας ἐπ' ἐξόδου του̃ ἐνιαυτου̃ ἐν τη̨̃ συναγωγη̨̃ τω̃ν ἔργων σου τω̃ν ἐκ του̃ ἀγρου̃ σου (Ⅲ)

- Et solemnitatem messis primitivorum operis tui, quæcumque seminaveris in agro : solemnitatem quoque in exitu anni, quando congregaveris omnes fruges tuas de agro. (Ⅳ)

- ‫ 16 ׃23 וחג הקציר בכורי מעשיך אשר תזרע בשדה וחג האסף בצאת השנה באספך את מעשיך מן השדה ‬ (Ⅴ)

23. 17

Three items in the year all thy males shall appear before the LORD God.

- Trois fois par année, tous les mâles se présenteront devant le Seigneur, l'Éternel. (Ⅱ)

- τρει̃ς καιροὺς του̃ ἐνιαυτου̃ ὀφθήσεται πα̃ν ἀρσενικόν σου ἐνώπιον κυρίου του̃ θεου̃ σου (Ⅲ)

- Ter in anno apparebit omne masculinum tuum coram Domino Deo tuo. (Ⅳ)

- ‫ 17 ׃23 שלש פעמים בשנה יראה כל זכורך אל פני האדן יהוה ‬ (Ⅴ)

23. 18

Thou shalt not offer the blood of my sacrifice with leavened bread; neither shall the fat of my sacrifice remain until the morning.

- Tu n'offriras point avec du pain levé le sang de la victime sacrifiée en mon honneur; et sa graisse ne sera point gardée pendant la nuit jusqu'au matin. (Ⅱ)

- ὅταν γὰρ ἐκβάλω ἔθνη ἀπὸ προσώπου σου καὶ ἐμπλατύνω τὰ ὅριά σου οὐ θύσεις ἐπὶ ζύμη̨ αἱ̃μα θυσιάσματός μου οὐδὲ μὴ κοιμηθη̨̃ στέαρ τη̃ς ἑορτη̃ς μου ἕως πρωί (Ⅲ)

- Non immolabis super fermento sanguinem victimæ meæ, nec remanebit adeps solemnitatis meæ usque mane. (Ⅳ)

- ‫ 18 ׃23 לא תזבח על חמץ דם זבחי ולא ילין חלב חגי עד בקר ‬ (Ⅴ)

23. 19

The first of the firstfruits of thy land thou shalt bring into the house of the LORD thy God. Thou shalt not seethe a kid in his mother's milk.

- Tu apporteras à la maison de l'Éternel, ton Dieu, les prémices des premiers fruits de la terre. Tu ne feras point cuire un chevreau dans le lait de sa mère. (Ⅱ)

- τὰς ἀπαρχὰς τω̃ν πρωτογενημάτων τη̃ς γη̃ς σου εἰσοίσεις εἰς τὸν οἰ̃κον κυρίου του̃ θεου̃ σου οὐχ ἑψήσεις ἄρνα ἐν γάλακτι μητρὸς αὐτου̃ (Ⅲ)

- Primitias frugum terræ tuæ deferes in domum Domini Dei tui. Non coques hædum in lacte matris suæ.\ (Ⅳ)

- ‫ 19 ׃23 ראשית בכורי אדמתך תביא בית יהוה אלהיך לא תבשל גדי בחלב אמו ס‬ (Ⅴ)

23. 20

Behold, I send an Angel before thee, to keep thee in the way, and to bring thee into the place which I have prepared.

- Voici, j'envoie un ange devant toi, pour te protéger en chemin, et pour te faire arriver au lieu que j'ai préparé. (Ⅱ)

- καὶ ἰδοὺ ἐγὼ ἀποστέλλω τὸν ἄγγελόν μου πρὸ προσώπου σου ἵνα φυλάξη̨ σε ἐν τη̨̃ ὁδω̨̃ ὅπως εἰσαγάγη̨ σε εἰς τὴν γη̃ν ἣν ἡτοίμασά σοι (Ⅲ)

- Ecce ego mittam angelum meum, qui præcedat te, et custodiat in via, et introducat in locum quem paravi. (Ⅳ)

- ‫ 20 ׃23 הנה אנכי שלח מלאך לפניך לשמרך בדרך ולהביאך אל המקום אשר הכנתי ‬ (Ⅴ)

23. 21

Beware of him, and obey his voice, provoke him not; for he will not pardon your transgressions: for my name is in him.

- Tiens-toi sur tes gardes en sa présence, et écoute sa voix; ne lui résiste point, parce qu'il ne pardonnera pas vos péchés, car mon nom est en lui. (Ⅱ)

- πρόσεχε σεαυτω̨̃ καὶ εἰσάκουε αὐτου̃ καὶ μὴ ἀπείθει αὐτω̨̃ οὐ γὰρ μὴ ὑποστείληταί σε τὸ γὰρ ὄνομά μού ἐστιν ἐπ' αὐτω̨̃ (Ⅲ)

- Observa eum, et audi vocem ejus, nec contemnendum putes : quia non dimittet cum peccaveris, et est nomen meum in illo. (Ⅳ)

- ‫ 21 ׃23 השמר מפניו ושמע בקלו אל תמר בו כי לא ישא לפשעכם כי שמי בקרבו ‬ (Ⅴ)

23. 22

But if thou shalt indeed obey his voice, and do all that I speak; then I will be an enemy unto thine enemies, and an adversary unto thine adversaries.

- Mais si tu écoutes sa voix, et si tu fais tout ce que je te dirai, je serai l'ennemi de tes ennemis et l'adversaire de tes adversaires. (Ⅱ)

- ἐὰν ἀκοη̨̃ ἀκούσητε τη̃ς ἐμη̃ς φωνη̃ς καὶ ποιήση̨ς πάντα ὅσα ἂν ἐντείλωμαί σοι καὶ φυλάξητε τὴν διαθήκην μου ἔσεσθέ μοι λαὸς περιούσιος ἀπὸ πάντων τω̃ν ἐθνω̃ν ἐμὴ γάρ ἐστιν πα̃σα ἡ γη̃ ὑμει̃ς δὲ ἔσεσθέ μοι βασίλειον ἱεράτευμα καὶ ἔθνος ἅγιον ταυ̃τα τὰ ῥήματα ἐρει̃ς τοι̃ς υἱοι̃ς Ισραηλ ἐὰν ἀκοη̨̃ ἀκούσητε τη̃ς φωνη̃ς μου καὶ ποιήση̨ς πάντα ὅσα ἂν εἴπω σοι ἐχθρεύσω τοι̃ς ἐχθροι̃ς σου καὶ ἀντικείσομαι τοι̃ς ἀντικειμένοις σοι (Ⅲ)

- Quod si audieris vocem ejus, et feceris omnia quæ loquor, inimicus ero inimicis tuis, et affligam affligentes te.\ (Ⅳ)

- ‫ 22 ׃23 כי אם שמע תשמע בקלו ועשית כל אשר אדבר ואיבתי את איביך וצרתי את צרריך ‬ (Ⅴ)

23. 23

For mine Angel shall go before thee, and bring thee in unto the Amorites, and the Hittites, and the Perizzites, and the Canaanites, the Hivites, and the Jebusites: and I will cut them off.

- Mon ange marchera devant toi, et te conduira chez les Amoréens, les Héthiens, les Phéréziens, les Cananéens, les Héviens et les Jébusiens, et je les exterminerai. (Ⅱ)

- πορεύσεται γὰρ ὁ ἄγγελός μου ἡγούμενός σου καὶ εἰσάξει σε πρὸς τὸν Αμορραι̃ον καὶ Χετται̃ον καὶ Φερεζαι̃ον καὶ Χαναναι̃ον καὶ Γεργεσαι̃ον καὶ Ευαι̃ον καὶ Ιεβουσαι̃ον καὶ ἐκτρίψω αὐτούς (Ⅲ)

- Præcedetque te angelus meus, et introducet te ad Amorrhæum, et Hethæum, et Pherezæum, Chananæumque, et Hevæum, et Jebusæum, quos ego conteram. (Ⅳ)

- ‫ 23 ׃23 כי ילך מלאכי לפניך והביאך אל האמרי והחתי והפרזי והכנעני החוי והיבוסי והכחדתיו ‬ (Ⅴ)

23. 24

Thou shalt not bow down to their gods, nor serve them, nor do after their works: but thou shalt utterly overthrow them, and quite break down their images.

- Tu ne te prosterneras point devant leurs dieux, et tu ne les serviras point; tu n'imiteras point ces peuples dans leur conduite, mais tu les détruiras, et tu briseras leurs statues. (Ⅱ)

- οὐ προσκυνήσεις τοι̃ς θεοι̃ς αὐτω̃ν οὐδὲ μὴ λατρεύση̨ς αὐτοι̃ς οὐ ποιήσεις κατὰ τὰ ἔργα αὐτω̃ν ἀλλὰ καθαιρέσει καθελει̃ς καὶ συντρίβων συντρίψεις τὰς στήλας αὐτω̃ν (Ⅲ)

- Non adorabis deos eorum, nec coles eos : non facies opera eorum, sed destrues eos, et confringes statuas eorum. (Ⅳ)

- ‫ 24 ׃23 לא תשתחוה לאלהיהם ולא תעבדם ולא תעשה כמעשיהם כי הרס תהרסם ושבר תשבר מצבתיהם ‬ (Ⅴ)

23. 25

And ye shall serve the LORD your God, and he shall bless thy bread, and thy water; and I will take sickness away from the midst of thee.

- Vous servirez l'Éternel, votre Dieu, et il bénira votre pain et vos eaux, et j'éloignerai la maladie du milieu de toi. (Ⅱ)

- καὶ λατρεύσεις κυρίω̨ τω̨̃ θεω̨̃ σου καὶ εὐλογήσω τὸν ἄρτον σου καὶ τὸν οἰ̃νόν σου καὶ τὸ ὕδωρ σου καὶ ἀποστρέψω μαλακίαν ἀφ' ὑμω̃ν (Ⅲ)

- Servietisque Domino Deo vestro, ut benedicam panibus tuis et aquis, et auferam infirmitatem de medio tui. (Ⅳ)

- ‫ 25 ׃23 ועבדתם את יהוה אלהיכם וברך את לחמך ואת מימיך והסרתי מחלה מקרבך ‬ (Ⅴ)

23. 26

There shall nothing cast their young, nor be barren, in thy land: the number of thy days I will fulfil.

- Il n'y aura dans ton pays ni femme qui avorte, ni femme stérile. Je remplirai le nombre de tes jours. (Ⅱ)

- οὐκ ἔσται ἄγονος οὐδὲ στει̃ρα ἐπὶ τη̃ς γη̃ς σου τὸν ἀριθμὸν τω̃ν ἡμερω̃ν σου ἀναπληρώσω (Ⅲ)

- Non erit infœcunda, nec sterilis in terra tua : numerum dierum tuorum implebo. (Ⅳ)

- ‫ 26 ׃23 לא תהיה משכלה ועקרה בארצך את מספר ימיך אמלא ‬ (Ⅴ)

23. 27

I will send my fear before thee, and will destroy all the people to whom thou shalt come, and I will make all thine enemies turn their backs unto thee.

- J'enverrai ma terreur devant toi, je mettrai en déroute tous les peuples chez lesquels tu arriveras, et je ferai tourner le dos devant toi à tous tes ennemis. (Ⅱ)

- καὶ τὸν φόβον ἀποστελω̃ ἡγούμενόν σου καὶ ἐκστήσω πάντα τὰ ἔθνη εἰς οὓς σὺ εἰσπορεύη̨ εἰς αὐτούς καὶ δώσω πάντας τοὺς ὑπεναντίους σου φυγάδας (Ⅲ)

- Terrorem meum mittam in præcursum tuum, et occidam omnem populum, ad quem ingredieris : cunctorumque inimicorum tuorum coram te terga vertam : (Ⅳ)

- ‫ 27 ׃23 את אימתי אשלח לפניך והמתי את כל העם אשר תבא בהם ונתתי את כל איביך אליך ערף ‬ (Ⅴ)

23. 28

And I will send hornets before thee, which shall drive out the Hivite, the Canaanite, and the Hittite, from before thee.

- J'enverrai les frelons devant toi, et ils chasseront loin de ta face les Héviens, les Cananéens et les Héthiens. (Ⅱ)

- καὶ ἀποστελω̃ τὰς σφηκίας προτέρας σου καὶ ἐκβαλει̃ τοὺς Αμορραίους καὶ τοὺς Ευαίους καὶ τοὺς Χαναναίους καὶ τοὺς Χετταίους ἀπὸ σου̃ (Ⅲ)

- emittens crabrones prius, qui fugabunt Hevæum, et Chananæum, et Hethæum, antequam introëas. (Ⅳ)

- ‫ 28 ׃23 ושלחתי את הצרעה לפניך וגרשה את החוי את הכנעני ואת החתי מלפניך ‬ (Ⅴ)

23. 29

I will not drive them out from before thee in one year; lest the land become desolate, and the beast of the field multiply against thee.

- Je ne les chasserai pas en une seule année loin de ta face, de peur que le pays ne devienne un désert et que les bêtes des champs ne se multiplient contre toi. (Ⅱ)

- οὐκ ἐκβαλω̃ αὐτοὺς ἐν ἐνιαυτω̨̃ ἑνί ἵνα μὴ γένηται ἡ γη̃ ἔρημος καὶ πολλὰ γένηται ἐπὶ σὲ τὰ θηρία τη̃ς γη̃ς (Ⅲ)

- Non ejiciam eos a facie tua anno uno : ne terra in solitudinem redigatur, et crescant contra te bestiæ. (Ⅳ)

- ‫ 29 ׃23 לא אגרשנו מפניך בשנה אחת פן תהיה הארץ שממה ורבה עליך חית השדה ‬ (Ⅴ)

23. 30

By little and little I will drive them out from before thee, until thou be increased, and inherit the land.

- Je les chasserai peu à peu loin de ta face, jusqu'à ce que tu augmentes en nombre et que tu puisses prendre possession du pays. (Ⅱ)

- κατὰ μικρὸν μικρὸν ἐκβαλω̃ αὐτοὺς ἀπὸ σου̃ ἕως ἂν αὐξηθη̨̃ς καὶ κληρονομήση̨ς τὴν γη̃ν (Ⅲ)

- Paulatim expellam eos de conspectu tuo, donec augearis, et possideas terram. (Ⅳ)

- ‫ 30 ׃23 מעט מעט אגרשנו מפניך עד אשר תפרה ונחלת את הארץ ‬ (Ⅴ)

23. 31

And I will set thy bounds from the Red sea even unto the sea of the Philistines, and from the desert unto the river: for I will deliver the inhabitants of the land into your hand; and thou shalt drive them out before thee.

- J'établirai tes limites depuis la mer Rouge jusqu'à la mer des Philistins, et depuis le désert jusqu'au fleuve; car je livrerai entre vos mains les habitants du pays, et tu les chasseras devant toi. (Ⅱ)

- καὶ θήσω τὰ ὅριά σου ἀπὸ τη̃ς ἐρυθρα̃ς θαλάσσης ἕως τη̃ς θαλάσσης τη̃ς Φυλιστιιμ καὶ ἀπὸ τη̃ς ἐρήμου ἕως του̃ μεγάλου ποταμου̃ Εὐφράτου καὶ παραδώσω εἰς τὰς χει̃ρας ὑμω̃ν τοὺς ἐγκαθημένους ἐν τη̨̃ γη̨̃ καὶ ἐκβαλω̃ αὐτοὺς ἀπὸ σου̃ (Ⅲ)

- Ponam autem terminos tuos a mari Rubro usque ad mare Palæstinorum, et a deserto usque ad fluvium : tradam in manibus vestris habitatores terræ, et ejiciam eos de conspectu vestro. (Ⅳ)

- ‫ 31 ׃23 ושתי את גבלך מים סוף ועד ים פלשתים וממדבר עד הנהר כי אתן בידכם את ישבי הארץ וגרשתמו מפניך ‬ (Ⅴ)

23. 32

Thou shalt make no covenant with them, nor with their gods.

- Tu ne feras point d'alliance avec eux, ni avec leurs dieux. (Ⅱ)

- οὐ συγκαταθήση̨ αὐτοι̃ς καὶ τοι̃ς θεοι̃ς αὐτω̃ν διαθήκην (Ⅲ)

- Non inibis cum eis fœdus, nec cum diis eorum. (Ⅳ)

- ‫ 32 ׃23 לא תכרת להם ולאלהיהם ברית ‬ (Ⅴ)

23. 33

They shall not dwell in thy land, lest they make thee sin against me: for if thou serve their gods, it will surely be a snare unto thee.

- Ils n'habiteront point dans ton pays, de peur qu'ils ne te fassent pécher contre moi; car tu servirais leurs dieux, et ce serait un piège pour toi. (Ⅱ)

- καὶ οὐκ ἐγκαθήσονται ἐν τη̨̃ γη̨̃ σου ἵνα μὴ ἁμαρτει̃ν σε ποιήσωσιν πρός με ἐὰν γὰρ δουλεύση̨ς τοι̃ς θεοι̃ς αὐτω̃ν οὑ̃τοι ἔσονταί σοι πρόσκομμα (Ⅲ)

- Non habitent in terra tua, ne forte peccare te faciant in me, si servieris diis eorum : quod tibi certe erit in scandalum. (Ⅳ)

- ‫ 33 ׃23 לא ישבו בארצך פן יחטיאו אתך לי כי תעבד את אלהיהם כי יהיה לך למוקש פ‬ (Ⅴ)
