And the men of Ephraim gathered themselves together, and went northward, and said unto Jephthah, Wherefore passedst thou over to fight against the children of Ammon, and didst not call us to go with thee? we will burn thine house upon thee with fire.
- Les hommes d'Éphraïm se rassemblèrent, partirent pour le nord, et dirent à Jephthé: Pourquoi es-tu allé combattre les fils d'Ammon sans nous avoir appelés à marcher avec toi? Nous voulons incendier ta maison et te brûler avec elle. (Ⅱ) - καὶ ἐβόησεν ἀνὴρ Εφραιμ καὶ παρη̃λθαν εἰς βορρα̃ν καὶ εἰ̃παν πρὸς Ιεφθαε διὰ τί παρη̃λθες παρατάξασθαι ἐν υἱοι̃ς Αμμων καὶ ἡμα̃ς οὐ κέκληκας πορευθη̃ναι μετὰ σου̃ τὸν οἰ̃κόν σου ἐμπρήσομεν ἐπὶ σὲ ἐν πυρί (Ⅲ) - Ecce autem in Ephraim orta est seditio : nam transeuntes contra aquilonem, dixerunt ad Jephte : Quare vadens ad pugnam contra filios Ammon, vocare nos noluisti, ut pergeremus tecum ? igitur incendemus domum tuam. (Ⅳ) - 1 ׃12 ויצעק איש אפרים ויעבר צפונה ויאמרו ליפתח מדוע עברת להלחם בבני עמון ולנו לא קראת ללכת עמך ביתך נשרף עליך באש (Ⅴ)

And Jephthah said unto them, I and my people were at great strife with the children of Ammon; and when I called you, ye delivered me not out of their hands.
- Jephthé leur répondit: Nous avons eu de grandes contestations, moi et mon peuple, avec les fils d'Ammon; et quand je vous ai appelés, vous ne m'avez pas délivré de leurs mains. (Ⅱ) - καὶ εἰ̃πεν Ιεφθαε πρὸς αὐτούς ἀνὴρ μαχητὴς ἤμην ἐγὼ καὶ ὁ λαός μου καὶ οἱ υἱοὶ Αμμων σφόδρα καὶ ἐβόησα ὑμα̃ς καὶ οὐκ ἐσώσατέ με ἐκ χειρὸς αὐτω̃ν (Ⅲ) - Quibus ille respondit : Disceptatio erat mihi et populo meo contra filios Ammon vehemens : vocavique vos, ut præberetis mihi auxilium, et facere noluistis. (Ⅳ) - 2 ׃12 ויאמר יפתח אליהם איש ריב הייתי אני ועמי ובני עמון מאד ואזעק אתכם ולא הושעתם אותי מידם (Ⅴ)

And when I saw that ye delivered me not, I put my life in my hands, and passed over against the children of Ammon, and the LORD delivered them into my hand: wherefore then are ye come up unto me this day, to fight against me?
- Voyant que tu ne venais pas à mon secours, j'ai exposé ma vie, et j'ai marché contre les fils d'Ammon. L'Éternel les a livrés entre mes mains. Pourquoi donc aujourd'hui montez-vous contre moi pour me faire la guerre? (Ⅱ) - καὶ εἰ̃δον ὅτι οὐκ εἰ̃ σωτήρ καὶ ἔθηκα τὴν ψυχήν μου ἐν χειρί μου καὶ παρη̃λθον πρὸς υἱοὺς Αμμων καὶ ἔδωκεν αὐτοὺς κύριος ἐν χειρί μου καὶ εἰς τί ἀνέβητε ἐπ' ἐμὲ ἐν τη̨̃ ἡμέρα̨ ταύτη̨ παρατάξασθαι ἐν ἐμοί (Ⅲ) - Quod cernens, posui animam meam in manibus meis, transivique ad filios Ammon, et tradidit eos Dominus in manus meas. Quid commerui, ut adversum me consurgatis in prælium ? (Ⅳ) - 3 ׃12 ואראה כי אינך מושיע[Q][n][v] ואשימה נפשי בכפי ואעברה אל בני עמון ויתנם יהוה בידי ולמה עליתם אלי היום הזה להלחם בי (Ⅴ)

Then Jephthah gathered together all the men of Gilead, and fought with Ephraim: and the men of Gilead smote Ephraim, because they said, Ye Gileadites are fugitives of Ephraim among the Ephraimites, and among the Manassites.
- Jephthé rassembla tous les hommes de Galaad, et livra bataille à Éphraïm. Les hommes de Galaad battirent Éphraïm, parce que les Éphraïmites disaient: Vous êtes des fugitifs d'Éphraïm! Galaad est au milieu d'Éphraïm, au milieu de Manassé! (Ⅱ) - καὶ συνέστρεψεν Ιεφθαε τοὺς πάντας ἄνδρας Γαλααδ καὶ παρετάξατο τω̨̃ Εφραιμ καὶ ἐπάταξαν ἄνδρες Γαλααδ τὸν Εφραιμ ὅτι εἰ̃παν οἱ διασω̨ζόμενοι του̃ Εφραιμ ὑμει̃ς Γαλααδ ἐν μέσω̨ του̃ Εφραιμ καὶ ἐν μέσω̨ του̃ Μανασση (Ⅲ) - Vocatis itaque ad se cunctis viris Galaad, pugnabat contra Ephraim : percusseruntque viri Galaad Ephraim, quia dixerat : Fugitivus est Galaad de Ephraim, et habitat in medio Ephraim et Manasse. (Ⅳ) - 4 ׃12 ויקבץ יפתח את כל אנשי גלעד וילחם את אפרים ויכו אנשי גלעד את אפרים כי אמרו פליטי אפרים אתם גלעד בתוך אפרים בתוך מנשה (Ⅴ)

And the Gileadites took the passages of Jordan before the Ephraimites: and it was so, that when those Ephraimites which were escaped said, Let me go over; that the men of Gilead said unto him, Art thou an Ephraimite? If he said, Nay;
- Galaad s'empara des gués du Jourdain du côté d'Éphraïm. Et quand l'un des fuyards d'Éphraïm disait: Laissez-moi passer! les hommes de Galaad lui demandaient: Es-tu Éphraïmite? Il répondait: Non. (Ⅱ) - καὶ προκατελάβετο Γαλααδ τὰς διαβάσεις του̃ Ιορδάνου του̃ Εφραιμ καὶ εἰ̃παν αὐτοι̃ς οἱ διασω̨ζόμενοι Εφραιμ διαβω̃μεν καὶ εἰ̃παν αὐτοι̃ς οἱ ἄνδρες Γαλααδ μὴ Εφραθίτης εἰ̃ καὶ εἰ̃πεν οὔ (Ⅲ) - Occupaveruntque Galaaditæ vada Jordanis, per quæ Ephraim reversurus erat. Cumque venisset ad ea de Ephraim numero, fugiens, atque dixisset : Obsecro ut me transire permittatis : dicebant ei Galaaditæ : Numquid Ephrathæus es ? quo dicente : Non sum : (Ⅳ) - 5 ׃12 וילכד גלעד את מעברות הירדן לאפרים והיה כי יאמרו פליטי אפרים אעברה ויאמרו לו אנשי גלעד האפרתי אתה ויאמר לא (Ⅴ)

Then said they unto him, Say now Shibboleth: and he said Sibboleth: for he could not frame to pronounce it right. Then they took him, and slew him at the passages of Jordan: and there fell at that time of the Ephraimites forty and two thousand.
- Ils lui disaient alors: Hé bien, dis Schibboleth. Et il disait Sibboleth, car il ne pouvait pas bien prononcer. Sur quoi les hommes de Galaad le saisissaient, et l'égorgeaient près des gués du Jourdain. Il périt en ce temps-là quarante-deux mille hommes d'Éphraïm. (Ⅱ) - καὶ εἰ̃παν αὐτω̨̃ εἰπὸν δὴ στάχυς καὶ οὐ κατεύθυνεν του̃ λαλη̃σαι οὕτως καὶ ἐπελάβοντο αὐτου̃ καὶ ἔθυσαν αὐτὸν πρὸς τὰς διαβάσεις του̃ Ιορδάνου καὶ ἔπεσαν ἐν τω̨̃ καιρω̨̃ ἐκείνω̨ ἀπὸ Εφραιμ τεσσαράκοντα δύο χιλιάδες (Ⅲ) - interrogabant eum : Dic ergo Scibboleth, quod interpretatur Spica. Qui respondebat : Sibboleth : eadem littera spicam exprimere non valens. Statimque apprehensum jugulabant in ipso Jordanis transitu. Et ceciderunt in illo tempore de Ephraim quadraginta duo millia.\ (Ⅳ) - 6 ׃12 ויאמרו לו אמר נא שבלת ויאמר סבלת ולא יכין לדבר כן ויאחזו אותו וישחטוהו אל מעברות הירדן ויפל בעת ההיא מאפרים ארבעים ושנים אלף (Ⅴ)

And Jephthah judged Israel six years. Then died Jephthah the Gileadite, and was buried in one of the cities of Gilead.
- Jephthé fut juge en Israël pendant six ans; puis Jephthé, le Galaadite, mourut, et fut enterré dans l'une des villes de Galaad. (Ⅱ) - καὶ ἔκρινεν Ιεφθαε τὸν Ισραηλ ἑξήκοντα ἔτη καὶ ἀπέθανεν Ιεφθαε ὁ Γαλααδίτης καὶ ἐτάφη ἐν πόλει αὐτου̃ ἐν Γαλααδ (Ⅲ) - Judicavit itaque Jephte Galaadites Israël sex annis : et mortuus est, ac sepultus in civitate sua Galaad.\ (Ⅳ) - 7 ׃12 וישפט יפתח את ישראל שש שנים וימת יפתח הגלעדי ויקבר בערי גלעד פ (Ⅴ)

And after him Ibzan of Bethlehem judged Israel.
- Après lui, Ibtsan de Bethléhem fut juge en Israël. (Ⅱ) - καὶ ἔκρινεν μετ' αὐτὸν τὸν Ισραηλ Αβαισαν ἀπὸ Βαιθλεεμ (Ⅲ) - Post hunc judicavit Israël Abesan de Bethlehem : (Ⅳ) - 8 ׃12 וישפט אחריו את ישראל אבצן מבית לחם (Ⅴ)

And he had thirty sons, and thirty daughters, whom he sent abroad, and took in thirty daughters from abroad for his sons. And he judged Israel seven years.
- Il eut trente fils, il maria trente filles au dehors, et il fit venir pour ses fils trente filles du dehors. Il fut juge en Israël pendant sept ans; (Ⅱ) - καὶ ἠ̃σαν αὐτω̨̃ τριάκοντα υἱοὶ καὶ τριάκοντα θυγατέρες ἃς ἐξαπέστειλεν ἔξω καὶ τριάκοντα θυγατέρας εἰσήνεγκεν τοι̃ς υἱοι̃ς αὐτου̃ ἔξωθεν καὶ ἔκρινεν τὸν Ισραηλ ἑπτὰ ἔτη (Ⅲ) - qui habuit triginta filios, et totidem filias, quas emittens foras, maritis dedit, et ejusdem numeri filiis suis accepit uxores, introducens in domum suam. Qui septem annis judicavit Israël : (Ⅳ) - 9 ׃12 ויהי לו שלשים בנים ושלשים בנות שלח החוצה ושלשים בנות הביא לבניו מן החוץ וישפט את ישראל שבע שנים (Ⅴ)

Then died Ibzan, and was buried at Bethlehem.
- puis Ibtsan mourut, et fut enterré à Bethléhem. (Ⅱ) - καὶ ἀπέθανεν Αβαισαν καὶ ἐτάφη ἐν Βαιθλεεμ (Ⅲ) - mortuusque est, ac sepultus in Bethlehem. (Ⅳ) - 10 ׃12 וימת אבצן ויקבר בבית לחם פ (Ⅴ)

And after him Elon, a Zebulonite, judged Israel; and he judged Israel ten years.
- Après lui, Élon de Zabulon fut juge en Israël. Il fut juge en Israël pendant dix ans; (Ⅱ) - καὶ ἔκρινεν μετ' αὐτὸν τὸν Ισραηλ Αιλωμ ὁ Ζαβουλωνίτης δέκα ἔτη (Ⅲ) - Cui successit Ahialon Zabulonites : et judicavit Israël decem annis : (Ⅳ) - 11 ׃12 וישפט אחריו את ישראל אילון הזבולני וישפט את ישראל עשר שנים (Ⅴ)

And Elon the Zebulonite died, and was buried in Aijalon in the country of Zebulun.
- puis Élon de Zabulon mourut, et fut enterré à Ajalon, dans le pays de Zabulon. (Ⅱ) - καὶ ἀπέθανεν Αιλωμ ὁ Ζαβουλωνίτης καὶ ἐτάφη ἐν Αιλωμ ἐν γη̨̃ Ζαβουλων (Ⅲ) - mortuusque est, ac sepultus in Zabulon. (Ⅳ) - 12 ׃12 וימת אלון הזבולני ויקבר באילון בארץ זבולן פ (Ⅴ)

And after him Abdon the son of Hillel, a Pirathonite, judged Israel.
- Après lui, Abdon, fils d'Hillel, le Pirathonite, fut juge en Israël. (Ⅱ) - καὶ ἔκρινεν μετ' αὐτὸν τὸν Ισραηλ Αβδων υἱὸς Ελληλ ὁ Φαραθωνίτης (Ⅲ) - Post hunc judicavit Israël Abdon filius Illel Pharathonites : (Ⅳ) - 13 ׃12 וישפט אחריו את ישראל עבדון בן הלל הפרעתוני (Ⅴ)

And he had forty sons and thirty nephews, that rode on threescore and ten ass colts: and he judged Israel eight years.
- Il eut quarante fils et trente petits-fils, qui montaient sur soixante dix ânons. Il fut juge en Israël pendant huit ans; (Ⅱ) - καὶ ἠ̃σαν αὐτω̨̃ τεσσαράκοντα υἱοὶ καὶ τριάκοντα υἱω̃ν υἱοὶ ἐπιβαίνοντες ἐπὶ ἑβδομήκοντα πώλους καὶ ἔκρινεν τὸν Ισραηλ ὀκτὼ ἔτη (Ⅲ) - qui habuit quadraginta filios, et triginta ex eis nepotes, ascendentes super septuaginta pullos asinarum. Et judicavit Israël octo annis : (Ⅳ) - 14 ׃12 ויהי לו ארבעים בנים ושלשים בני בנים רכבים על שבעים עירם וישפט את ישראל שמנה שנים (Ⅴ)

And Abdon the son of Hillel the Pirathonite died, and was buried in Pirathon in the land of Ephraim, in the mount of the Amalekites.
- puis Abdon, fils d'Hillel, le Pirathonite, mourut, et fut enterré à Pirathon, dans le pays d'Éphraïm, sur la montagne des Amalécites. (Ⅱ) - καὶ ἀπέθανεν Αβδων υἱὸς Ελληλ ὁ Φαραθωνίτης καὶ ἐτάφη ἐν Φαραθωμ ἐν γη̨̃ Εφραιμ ἐν ὄρει του̃ Αμαληκ (Ⅲ) - mortuusque est, ac sepultus in Pharathon terræ Ephraim, in monte Amalec. (Ⅳ) - 15 ׃12 וימת עבדון בן הלל הפרעתוני ויקבר בפרעתון בארץ אפרים בהר העמלקי פ (Ⅴ)
