20. 1

Then all the children of Israel went out, and the congregation was gathered together as one man, from Dan even to Beersheba, with the land of Gilead, unto the LORD in Mizpeh.

- Tous les enfants d'Israël sortirent, depuis Dan jusqu'à Beer Schéba et au pays de Galaad, et l'assemblée se réunit comme un seul homme devant l'Éternel, à Mitspa. (Ⅱ)

- καὶ ἐξη̃λθον πάντες οἱ υἱοὶ Ισραηλ καὶ ἐξεκκλησιάσθη ἡ συναγωγὴ ὡς ἀνὴρ εἱ̃ς ἀπὸ Δαν καὶ ἕως Βηρσαβεε καὶ γη̃ του̃ Γαλααδ πρὸς κύριον εἰς Μασσηφα (Ⅲ)

- Egressi itaque sunt omnes filii Israël, et pariter congregati, quasi vir unus, de Dan usque Bersabee, et terra Galaad, ad Dominum in Maspha. (Ⅳ)

- ‫ 1 ׃20 ויצאו כל בני ישראל ותקהל העדה כאיש אחד למדן ועד באר שבע וארץ הגלעד אל יהוה המצפה ‬ (Ⅴ)

20. 2

And the chief of all the people, even of all the tribes of Israel, presented themselves in the assembly of the people of God, four hundred thousand footmen that drew sword.

- Les chefs de tout le peuple, toutes les tribus d'Israël, se présentèrent dans l'assemblée du peuple de Dieu: quatre cent mille hommes de pied, tirant l'épée. (Ⅱ)

- καὶ ἐστάθησαν κατὰ πρόσωπον κυρίου πα̃σαι αἱ φυλαὶ του̃ Ισραηλ ἐν ἐκκλησία̨ του̃ λαου̃ του̃ θεου̃ τετρακόσιαι χιλιάδες ἀνδρω̃ν πεζω̃ν ἕλκοντες ῥομφαίαν (Ⅲ)

- Omnesque anguli populorum, et cunctæ tribus Israël in ecclesiam populi Dei convenerunt, quadringenta millia peditum pugnatorum. (Ⅳ)

- ‫ 2 ׃20 ויתיצבו פנות כל העם כל שבטי ישראל בקהל עם האלהים ארבע מאות אלף איש רגלי שלף חרב פ‬ (Ⅴ)

20. 3

(Now the children of Benjamin heard that the children of Israel were gone up to Mizpeh.) Then said the children of Israel, Tell us, how was this wickedness?

- Et les fils de Benjamin apprirent que les enfants d'Israël étaient montés à Mitspa. Les enfants d'Israël dirent: Parlez, comment ce crime a-t-il été commis? (Ⅱ)

- καὶ ἤκουσαν οἱ υἱοὶ Βενιαμιν ὅτι ἀνέβησαν οἱ υἱοὶ Ισραηλ εἰς Μασσηφα καὶ ἐλθόντες εἰ̃παν οἱ υἱοὶ Ισραηλ λαλήσατε που̃ ἐγένετο ἡ πονηρία αὕτη (Ⅲ)

- (Nec latuit filios Benjamin quod ascendissent filii Israël in Maspha.) Interrogatusque Levita, maritus mulieris interfectæ, quomodo tantum scelus perpetratum esset, (Ⅳ)

- ‫ 3 ׃20 וישמעו בני בנימן כי עלו בני ישראל המצפה ויאמרו בני ישראל דברו איכה נהיתה הרעה הזאת ‬ (Ⅴ)

20. 4

And the Levite, the husband of the woman that was slain, answered and said, I came into Gibeah that belongeth to Benjamin, I and my concubine, to lodge.

- Alors le Lévite, le mari de la femme qui avait été tuée, prit la parole, et dit: J'étais arrivé, avec ma concubine, à Guibea de Benjamin, pour y passer la nuit. (Ⅱ)

- καὶ ἀπεκρίθη ὁ ἀνὴρ ὁ Λευίτης ὁ ἀνὴρ τη̃ς γυναικὸς τη̃ς φονευθείσης καὶ εἰ̃πεν εἰς Γαβαα τη̃ς Βενιαμιν ἠ̃λθον ἐγὼ καὶ ἡ παλλακή μου του̃ αὐλισθη̃ναι (Ⅲ)

- respondit : Veni in Gabaa Benjamin cum uxore mea, illucque diverti : (Ⅳ)

- ‫ 4 ׃20 ויען האיש הלוי איש האשה הנרצחה ויאמר הגבעתה אשר לבנימן באתי אני ופילגשי ללון ‬ (Ⅴ)

20. 5

And the men of Gibeah rose against me, and beset the house round about upon me by night, and thought to have slain me: and my concubine have they forced, that she is dead.

- Les habitants de Guibea se sont soulevés contre moi, et ont entouré pendant la nuit la maison où j'étais. Ils avaient l'intention de me tuer, et ils ont fait violence à ma concubine, et elle est morte. (Ⅱ)

- καὶ ἀνέστησαν ἐπ' ἐμὲ οἱ ἄνδρες τη̃ς Γαβαα καὶ ἐκύκλωσαν ἐπ' ἐμὲ ἐπὶ τὴν οἰκίαν νυκτός ἐμὲ ἠθέλησαν φονευ̃σαι καὶ τὴν παλλακήν μου ἐταπείνωσαν καὶ ἀπέθανεν (Ⅲ)

- et ecce homines civitatis illius circumdederunt nocte domum in qua manebam, volentes me occidere, et uxorem meam incredibili furore libidinis vexantes, denique mortua est. (Ⅳ)

- ‫ 5 ׃20 ויקמו עלי בעלי הגבעה ויסבו עלי את הבית לילה אותי דמו להרג ואת פילגשי ענו ותמת ‬ (Ⅴ)

20. 6

And I took my concubine, and cut her in pieces, and sent her throughout all the country of the inheritance of Israel: for they have committed lewdness and folly in Israel.

- J'ai saisi ma concubine, et je l'ai coupée en morceaux, que j'ai envoyés dans tout le territoire de l'héritage d'Israël; car ils ont commis un crime et une infamie en Israël. (Ⅱ)

- καὶ ἐκράτησα τὴν παλλακήν μου καὶ ἐμέλισα αὐτὴν καὶ ἀπέστειλα ἐν παντὶ ὁρίω̨ κληρονομίας υἱω̃ν Ισραηλ ὅτι ἐποίησαν ζεμα καὶ ἀπόπτωμα ἐν Ισραηλ (Ⅲ)

- Quam arreptam, in frustra concidi, misique partes in omnes terminos possessionis vestræ : quia numquam tantum nefas, et tam grande piaculum, factum est in Israël. (Ⅳ)

- ‫ 6 ׃20 ואחז בפילגשי ואנתחה ואשלחה בכל שדה נחלת ישראל כי עשו זמה ונבלה בישראל ‬ (Ⅴ)

20. 7

Behold, ye are all children of Israel; give here your advice and counsel.

- Vous voici tous, enfants d'Israël; consultez-vous, et prenez ici une décision! (Ⅱ)

- ἰδοὺ πάντες ὑμει̃ς υἱοὶ Ισραηλ δότε ἑαυτοι̃ς λόγον καὶ βουλὴν ἐκει̃ (Ⅲ)

- Adestis, omnes filii Israël : decernite quid facere debeatis. (Ⅳ)

- ‫ 7 ׃20 הנה כלכם בני ישראל הבו לכם דבר ועצה הלם ‬ (Ⅴ)

20. 8

And all the people arose as one man, saying, We will not any of us go to his tent, neither will we any of us turn into his house.

- Tout le peuple se leva comme un seul homme, en disant: Nul de nous n'ira dans sa tente, et personne ne retournera dans sa maison. (Ⅱ)

- καὶ ἀνέστη πα̃ς ὁ λαὸς ὡς ἀνὴρ εἱ̃ς λέγοντες οὐκ ἀπελευσόμεθα ἀνὴρ εἰς σκήνωμα αὐτου̃ καὶ οὐκ ἐπιστρέψομεν ἀνὴρ εἰς οἰ̃κον αὐτου̃ (Ⅲ)

- Stansque omnis populus, quasi unius hominis sermone respondit : Non recedemus in tabernacula nostra, nec suam quisquam intrabit domum : (Ⅳ)

- ‫ 8 ׃20 ויקם כל העם כאיש אחד לאמר לא נלך איש לאהלו ולא נסור איש לביתו ‬ (Ⅴ)

20. 9

But now this shall be the thing which we will do to Gibeah; we will go up by lot against it;

- Voici maintenant ce que nous ferons à Guibea: Nous marcherons contre elle d'après le sort. (Ⅱ)

- καὶ νυ̃ν του̃το τὸ ῥη̃μα ὃ ποιηθήσεται τη̨̃ Γαβαα ἀναβησόμεθα ἐπ' αὐτὴν ἐν κλήρω̨ (Ⅲ)

- sed hoc contra Gabaa in commune faciamus. (Ⅳ)

- ‫ 9 ׃20 ועתה זה הדבר אשר נעשה לגבעה עליה בגורל ‬ (Ⅴ)

20. 10

And we will take ten men of an hundred throughout all the tribes of Israel, and an hundred of a thousand, and a thousand out of ten thousand, to fetch victual for the people, that they may do, when they come to Gibeah of Benjamin, according to all the folly that they have wrought in Israel.

- Nous prendrons dans toutes les tribus d'Israël dix hommes sur cent, cent sur mille, et mille sur dix mille; ils iront chercher des vivres pour le peuple, afin qu'à leur retour on traite Guibea de Benjamin selon toute l'infamie qu'elle a commise en Israël. (Ⅱ)

- πλὴν λημψόμεθα δέκα ἄνδρας τοι̃ς ἑκατὸν εἰς πάσας φυλὰς Ισραηλ καὶ ἑκατὸν τοι̃ς χιλίοις καὶ χιλίους τοι̃ς μυρίοις λαβει̃ν ἐπισιτισμὸν του̃ ποιη̃σαι ἐλθει̃ν αὐτοὺς εἰς Γαβαα Βενιαμιν ποιη̃σαι αὐτη̨̃ κατὰ πα̃ν τὸ ἀπόπτωμα ὃ ἐποίησεν ἐν Ισραηλ (Ⅲ)

- Decem viri eligantur e centum ex omnibus tribubus Israël, et centum de mille, et mille de decem millibus, ut comportent exercitui cibaria, et possimus pugnare contra Gabaa Benjamin, et reddere ei pro scelere, quod meretur. (Ⅳ)

- ‫ 10 ׃20 ולקחנו עשרה אנשים למאה לכל שבטי ישראל ומאה לאלף ואלף לרבבה לקחת צדה לעם לעשות לבואם לגבע בנימן ככל הנבלה אשר עשה בישראל ‬ (Ⅴ)

20. 11

So all the men of Israel were gathered against the city, knit together as one man.

- Ainsi tous les hommes d'Israël s'assemblèrent contre la ville, unis comme un seul homme. (Ⅱ)

- καὶ συνήχθη πα̃ς ἀνὴρ Ισραηλ εἰς τὴν πόλιν ὡς ἀνὴρ εἱ̃ς (Ⅲ)

- Convenitque universus Israël ad civitatem, quasi homo unus eadem mente, unoque consilio.\ (Ⅳ)

- ‫ 11 ׃20 ויאסף כל איש ישראל אל העיר כאיש אחד חברים פ‬ (Ⅴ)

20. 12

And the tribes of Israel sent men through all the tribe of Benjamin, saying, What wickedness is this that is done among you?

- Les tribus d'Israël envoyèrent des hommes vers toutes les familles de Benjamin, pour dire: Qu'est-ce que ce crime qui s'est commis parmi vous? (Ⅱ)

- καὶ ἀπέστειλαν αἱ φυλαὶ Ισραηλ ἄνδρας ἐν πάση̨ φυλη̨̃ Βενιαμιν λέγοντες τίς ἡ πονηρία αὕτη ἡ γενομένη ἐν ὑμι̃ν (Ⅲ)

- Et miserunt nuntios ad omnem tribum Benjamin, qui dicerent : Cur tantum nefas in vobis repertum est ? (Ⅳ)

- ‫ 12 ׃20 וישלחו שבטי ישראל אנשים בכל שבטי בנימן לאמר מה הרעה הזאת אשר נהיתה בכם ‬ (Ⅴ)

20. 13

Now therefore deliver us the men, the children of Belial, which are in Gibeah, that we may put them to death, and put away evil from Israel. But the children of Benjamin would not hearken to the voice of their brethren the children of Israel.

- Livrez maintenant les gens pervers qui sont à Guibea, afin que nous les fassions mourir et que nous ôtions le mal du milieu d'Israël. Mais les Benjamites ne voulurent point écouter la voix de leurs frères, les enfants d'Israël. (Ⅱ)

- καὶ νυ̃ν δότε τοὺς ἄνδρας υἱοὺς παρανόμων τοὺς ἐν Γαβαα καὶ θανατώσομεν αὐτοὺς καὶ ἐκκαθαριου̃μεν πονηρίαν ἀπὸ Ισραηλ καὶ οὐκ εὐδόκησαν οἱ υἱοὶ Βενιαμιν ἀκου̃σαι τη̃ς φωνη̃ς τω̃ν ἀδελφω̃ν αὐτω̃ν υἱω̃ν Ισραηλ (Ⅲ)

- Tradite homines de Gabaa, qui hoc flagitium perpetrarunt, ut moriantur, et auferatur malum de Israël. Qui noluerunt fratrum suorum filiorum Israël audire mandatum : (Ⅳ)

- ‫ 13 ׃20 ועתה תנו את האנשים בני בליעל אשר בגבעה ונמיתם ונבערה רעה מישראל ולא אבו **בני‪[a]‬ בנימן לשמע בקול אחיהם בני ישראל ‬ (Ⅴ)

20. 14

But the children of Benjamin gathered themselves together out of the cities unto Gibeah, to go out to battle against the children of Israel.

- Les Benjamites sortirent de leurs villes, et s'assemblèrent à Guibea, pour combattre les enfants d'Israël. (Ⅱ)

- καὶ συνήχθησαν οἱ υἱοὶ Βενιαμιν ἀπὸ τω̃ν πόλεων αὐτω̃ν εἰς Γαβαα ἐξελθει̃ν εἰς παράταξιν πρὸς υἱοὺς Ισραηλ (Ⅲ)

- sed ex cunctis urbibus, quæ sortis suæ erant, convenerunt in Gabaa, ut illis ferrent auxilium, et contra universum populum Israël dimicarent. (Ⅳ)

- ‫ 14 ׃20 ויאספו בני בנימן מן הערים הגבעתה לצאת למלחמה עם בני ישראל ‬ (Ⅴ)

20. 15

And the children of Benjamin were numbered at that time out of the cities twenty and six thousand men that drew sword, beside the inhabitants of Gibeah, which were numbered seven hundred chosen men.

- Le dénombrement que l'on fit en ce jour des Benjamites sortis des villes fut de vingt-six mille hommes, tirant l'épée, sans compter les habitants de Guibea formant sept cents hommes d'élite. (Ⅱ)

- καὶ ἐπεσκέπησαν οἱ υἱοὶ Βενιαμιν ἐν τη̨̃ ἡμέρα̨ ἐκείνη̨ ἀπὸ τω̃ν πόλεων εἴκοσι τρει̃ς χιλιάδες ἀνὴρ ἕλκων ῥομφαίαν ἐκτὸς τω̃ν οἰκούντων τὴν Γαβαα οἳ ἐπεσκέπησαν ἑπτακόσιοι ἄνδρες ἐκλεκτοὶ (Ⅲ)

- Inventique sunt viginti quinque millia de Benjamin educentium gladium, præter habitatores Gabaa, (Ⅳ)

- ‫ 15 ׃20 ויתפקדו בני בנימן ביום ההוא מהערים עשרים וששה אלף איש שלף חרב לבד מישבי הגבעה התפקדו שבע מאות איש בחור ‬ (Ⅴ)

20. 16

Among all this people there were seven hundred chosen men lefthanded; every one could sling stones at an hair breadth, and not miss.

- Parmi tout ce peuple, il y avait sept cents hommes d'élite qui ne se servaient pas de la main droite; tous ceux-là pouvaient, en lançant une pierre avec la fronde, viser à un cheveu sans le manquer. (Ⅱ)

- ἐκ παντὸς λαου̃ ἀμφοτεροδέξιοι πάντες οὑ̃τοι σφενδονη̃ται ἐν λίθοις πρὸς τρίχα καὶ οὐκ ἐξαμαρτάνοντες (Ⅲ)

- qui septingenti erant viri fortissimi, ita sinistra ut dextra præliantes : et sic fundis lapides ad certum jacientes, ut capillum quoque possent percutere, et nequaquam in alteram partem ictus lapidis deferretur. (Ⅳ)

- ‫ 16 ׃20 מכל העם הזה שבע מאות איש בחור אטר יד ימינו כל זה קלע באבן אל השערה ולא יחטא פ‬ (Ⅴ)

20. 17

And the men of Israel, beside Benjamin, were numbered four hundred thousand men that drew sword: all these were men of war.

- On fit aussi le dénombrement des hommes d'Israël, non compris ceux de Benjamin, et l'on en trouva quatre cent mille tirant l'épée, tous gens de guerre. (Ⅱ)

- καὶ ἀνὴρ Ισραηλ ἐπεσκέπησαν ἐκτὸς του̃ Βενιαμιν τετρακόσιαι χιλιάδες ἀνδρω̃ν ἑλκόντων ῥομφαίαν πάντες οὑ̃τοι ἄνδρες παρατάξεως (Ⅲ)

- Virorum quoque Israël, absque filiis Benjamin, inventa sunt quadringenta millia educentium gladium, et paratorum ad pugnam.\ (Ⅳ)

- ‫ 17 ׃20 ואיש ישראל התפקדו לבד מבנימן ארבע מאות אלף איש שלף חרב כל זה איש מלחמה ‬ (Ⅴ)

20. 18

And the children of Israel arose, and went up to the house of God, and asked counsel of God, and said, Which of us shall go up first to the battle against the children of Benjamin? And the LORD said, Judah shall go up first.

- Et les enfants d'Israël se levèrent, montèrent à Béthel, et consultèrent Dieu, en disant: Qui de nous montera le premier pour combattre les fils de Benjamin? l'Éternel répondit: Juda montera le premier. (Ⅱ)

- καὶ ἀνέστησαν καὶ ἀνέβησαν εἰς Βαιθηλ καὶ ἠρώτησαν ἐν τω̨̃ θεω̨̃ καὶ εἰ̃παν οἱ υἱοὶ Ισραηλ τίς ἀναβήσεται ἡμι̃ν ἐν ἀρχη̨̃ εἰς παράταξιν πρὸς υἱοὺς Βενιαμιν καὶ εἰ̃πεν κύριος Ιουδας ἐν ἀρχη̨̃ ἀναβήσεται ἀφηγούμενος (Ⅲ)

- Qui surgentes venerunt in domum Dei, hoc est, in Silo : consulueruntque Deum, atque dixerunt : Quis erit in exercitu nostro princeps certaminis contra filios Benjamin ? Quibus respondit Dominus : Judas sit dux vester. (Ⅳ)

- ‫ 18 ׃20 ויקמו ויעלו בית אל וישאלו באלהים ויאמרו בני ישראל מי יעלה לנו בתחלה למלחמה עם בני בנימן ויאמר יהוה יהודה בתחלה ‬ (Ⅴ)

20. 19

And the children of Israel rose up in the morning, and encamped against Gibeah.

- Dès le matin, les enfants d'Israël se mirent en marche, et ils campèrent près de Guibea. (Ⅱ)

- καὶ ἀνέστησαν οἱ υἱοὶ Ισραηλ τὸ πρωὶ καὶ παρενέβαλον ἐπὶ Γαβαα (Ⅲ)

- Statimque filii Israël surgentes mane, castrametati sunt juxta Gabaa : (Ⅳ)

- ‫ 19 ׃20 ויקומו בני ישראל בבקר ויחנו על הגבעה פ‬ (Ⅴ)

20. 20

And the men of Israel went out to battle against Benjamin; and the men of Israel put themselves in array to fight against them at Gibeah.

- Et les hommes d'Israël s'avancèrent pour combattre ceux de Benjamin, et ils se rangèrent en bataille contre eux devant Guibea. (Ⅱ)

- καὶ ἐξη̃λθον πα̃ς ἀνὴρ Ισραηλ εἰς παράταξιν πρὸς Βενιαμιν καὶ συνη̃ψαν αὐτοι̃ς ἐπὶ Γαβαα (Ⅲ)

- et inde procedentes ad pugnam contra Benjamin, urbem oppugnare cœperunt. (Ⅳ)

- ‫ 20 ׃20 ויצא איש ישראל למלחמה עם בנימן ויערכו אתם איש ישראל מלחמה אל הגבעה ‬ (Ⅴ)

20. 21

And the children of Benjamin came forth out of Gibeah, and destroyed down to the ground of the Israelites that day twenty and two thousand men.

- Les fils de Benjamin sortirent de Guibea, et ils étendirent sur le sol ce jour-là vingt-deux mille hommes d'Israël. (Ⅱ)

- καὶ ἐξη̃λθον οἱ υἱοὶ Βενιαμιν ἀπὸ τη̃ς Γαβαα καὶ διέφθειραν ἐν Ισραηλ ἐν τη̨̃ ἡμέρα̨ ἐκείνη̨ δύο καὶ εἴκοσι χιλιάδας ἀνδρω̃ν ἐπὶ τὴν γη̃ν (Ⅲ)

- Egressique filii Benjamin de Gabaa, occiderunt de filiis Israël die illo viginti duo millia virorum. (Ⅳ)

- ‫ 21 ׃20 ויצאו בני בנימן מן הגבעה וישחיתו בישראל ביום ההוא שנים ועשרים אלף איש ארצה ‬ (Ⅴ)

20. 22

And the people the men of Israel encouraged themselves, and set their battle again in array in the place where they put themselves in array the first day.

- Le peuple, les hommes d'Israël reprirent courage, et ils se rangèrent de nouveau en bataille dans le lieu où ils s'étaient placés le premier jour. (Ⅱ)

- καὶ ἐνίσχυσαν ἀνὴρ Ισραηλ καὶ προσέθηκαν συνάψαι παράταξιν ἐν τω̨̃ τόπω̨ ὅπου συνη̃ψαν ἐν τη̨̃ ἡμέρα̨ τη̨̃ πρώτη̨ (Ⅲ)

- Rursum filii Israël et fortitudine et numero confidentes, in eodem loco in quo prius certaverant, aciem direxerunt : (Ⅳ)

- ‫ 22 ׃20 ויתחזק העם איש ישראל ויספו לערך מלחמה במקום אשר ערכו שם ביום הראשון ‬ (Ⅴ)

20. 23

(And the children of Israel went up and wept before the LORD until even, and asked counsel of the LORD, saying, Shall I go up again to battle against the children of Benjamin my brother? And the LORD said, Go up against him.)

- Et les enfants d'Israël montèrent, et ils pleurèrent devant l'Éternel jusqu'au soir; ils consultèrent l'Éternel, en disant: Dois-je m'avancer encore pour combattre les fils de Benjamin, mon frère? L'Éternel répondit: Montez contre lui. (Ⅱ)

- καὶ ἀνέβησαν οἱ υἱοὶ Ισραηλ καὶ ἔκλαυσαν ἐνώπιον κυρίου ἕως ἑσπέρας καὶ ἠρώτησαν ἐν κυρίω̨ λέγοντες εἰ προσθω̃μεν ἐγγίσαι εἰς παράταξιν πρὸς υἱοὺς Βενιαμιν ἀδελφοὺς ἡμω̃ν καὶ εἰ̃πεν κύριος ἀνάβητε πρὸς αὐτούς (Ⅲ)

- ita tamen ut prius ascenderent et flerent coram Domino usque ad noctem, consulerentque eum, et dicerent : Debeo ultra procedere ad dimicandum contra filios Benjamin fratres meos, an non ? Quibus ille respondit : Ascendite ad eos, et inite certamen. (Ⅳ)

- ‫ 23 ׃20 ויעלו בני ישראל ויבכו לפני יהוה עד הערב וישאלו ביהוה לאמר האוסיף לגשת למלחמה עם בני בנימן אחי ויאמר יהוה עלו אליו פ‬ (Ⅴ)

20. 24

And the children of Israel came near against the children of Benjamin the second day.

- Les enfants d'Israël s'avancèrent contre les fils de Benjamin, le second jour. (Ⅱ)

- καὶ προση̃λθον οἱ υἱοὶ Ισραηλ πρὸς υἱοὺς Βενιαμιν ἐν τη̨̃ ἡμέρα̨ τη̨̃ δευτέρα̨ (Ⅲ)

- Cumque filii Israël altera die contra filios Benjamin ad prælium processissent, (Ⅳ)

- ‫ 24 ׃20 ויקרבו בני ישראל אל בני בנימן ביום השני ‬ (Ⅴ)

20. 25

And Benjamin went forth against them out of Gibeah the second day, and destroyed down to the ground of the children of Israel again eighteen thousand men; all these drew the sword.

- Et ce même jour, les Benjamites sortirent de Guibea à leur rencontre, et ils étendirent encore sur le sol dix-huit mille hommes des enfants d'Israël, tous tirant l'épée. (Ⅱ)

- καὶ ἐξη̃λθον οἱ υἱοὶ Βενιαμιν εἰς συνάντησιν αὐτοι̃ς ἀπὸ τη̃ς Γαβαα ἐν τη̨̃ ἡμέρα̨ τη̨̃ δευτέρα̨ καὶ διέφθειραν ἀπὸ υἱω̃ν Ισραηλ ἔτι ὀκτωκαίδεκα χιλιάδας ἀνδρω̃ν ἐπὶ τὴν γη̃ν πάντες οὑ̃τοι ἕλκοντες ῥομφαίαν (Ⅲ)

- eruperunt filii Benjamin de portis Gabaa : et occurrentes eis tanta in illos cæde bacchati sunt, ut decem et octo millia virorum educentium gladium prosternerent.\ (Ⅳ)

- ‫ 25 ׃20 ויצא בנימן לקראתם מן הגבעה ביום השני וישחיתו בבני ישראל עוד שמנת עשר אלף איש ארצה כל אלה שלפי חרב ‬ (Ⅴ)

20. 26

Then all the children of Israel, and all the people, went up, and came unto the house of God, and wept, and sat there before the LORD, and fasted that day until even, and offered burnt offerings and peace offerings before the LORD.

- Tous les enfants d'Israël et tout le peuple montèrent et vinrent à Béthel; ils pleurèrent et restèrent là devant l'Éternel, ils jeûnèrent en ce jour jusqu'au soir, et ils offrirent des holocaustes et des sacrifices d'actions de grâces devant l'Éternel. (Ⅱ)

- καὶ ἀνέβησαν πάντες οἱ υἱοὶ Ισραηλ καὶ πα̃ς ὁ λαὸς καὶ ἠ̃λθον εἰς Βαιθηλ καὶ ἔκλαυσαν καὶ ἐκάθισαν ἐκει̃ ἐνώπιον κυρίου καὶ ἐνήστευσαν ἐν τη̨̃ ἡμέρα̨ ἐκείνη̨ ἕως ἑσπέρας καὶ ἀνήνεγκαν ὁλοκαυτώσεις καὶ τελείας ἐνώπιον κυρίου (Ⅲ)

- Quam ob rem omnes filii Israël venerunt in domum Dei, et sedentes flebant coram Domino : jejunaveruntque die illo usque ad vesperam, et obtulerunt ei holocausta, atque pacificas victimas, (Ⅳ)

- ‫ 26 ׃20 ויעלו כל בני ישראל וכל העם ויבאו בית אל ויבכו וישבו שם לפני יהוה ויצומו ביום ההוא עד הערב ויעלו עלות ושלמים לפני יהוה ‬ (Ⅴ)

20. 27

And the children of Israel inquired of the LORD, (for the ark of the covenant of God was there in those days,

- Et les enfants d'Israël consultèrent l'Éternel, -c'était là que se trouvait alors l'arche de l'alliance de Dieu, (Ⅱ)

- ὅτι ἐκει̃ κιβωτὸς διαθήκης κυρίου του̃ θεου̃ (Ⅲ)

- et super statu suo interrogaverunt. Eo tempore ibi erat arca fœderis Dei, (Ⅳ)

- ‫ 27 ׃20 וישאלו בני ישראל ביהוה ושם ארון ברית האלהים בימים ההם ‬ (Ⅴ)

20. 28

And Phinehas, the son of Eleazar, the son of Aaron, stood before it in those days,) saying, Shall I yet again go out to battle against the children of Benjamin my brother, or shall I cease? And the LORD said, Go up; for to morrow I will deliver them into thine hand.

- et c'était Phinées, fils d'Éléazar, fils d'Aaron, qui se tenait à cette époque en présence de Dieu, -et ils dirent: Dois-je marcher encore pour combattre les fils de Benjamin, mon frère, ou dois-je m'en abstenir? L'Éternel répondit: Montez, car demain je les livrerai entre vos mains. (Ⅱ)

- καὶ Φινεες υἱὸς Ελεαζαρ υἱου̃ Ααρων παρεστηκὼς ἐνώπιον αὐτη̃ς ἐν ται̃ς ἡμέραις ἐκείναις καὶ ἐπηρώτησαν οἱ υἱοὶ Ισραηλ ἐν κυρίω̨ λέγοντες εἰ προσθω̃μεν ἔτι ἐξελθει̃ν εἰς παράταξιν πρὸς υἱοὺς Βενιαμιν ἀδελφοὺς ἡμω̃ν ἢ ἐπίσχωμεν καὶ εἰ̃πεν κύριος ἀνάβητε ὅτι αὔριον δώσω αὐτοὺς εἰς τὰς χει̃ρας ὑμω̃ν (Ⅲ)

- et Phinees filius Eleazari filii Aaron præpositus domus. Consuluerunt igitur Dominum, atque dixerunt : Exire ultra debemus ad pugnam contra filios Benjamin fratres nostros, an quiescere ? Quibus ait Dominus : Ascendite : cras enim tradam eos in manus vestras. (Ⅳ)

- ‫ 28 ׃20 ופינחס בן אלעזר בן אהרן עמד לפניו בימים ההם לאמר האוסף עוד לצאת למלחמה עם בני בנימן אחי אם אחדל ויאמר יהוה עלו כי מחר אתננו בידך ‬ (Ⅴ)

20. 29

And Israel set liers in wait round about Gibeah.

- Alors Israël plaça une embuscade autour de Guibea. (Ⅱ)

- καὶ ἔθηκαν οἱ υἱοὶ Ισραηλ ἔνεδρα τη̨̃ Γαβαα κύκλω̨ (Ⅲ)

- Posueruntque filii Israël insidias per circuitum urbis Gabaa : (Ⅳ)

- ‫ 29 ׃20 וישם ישראל ארבים אל הגבעה סביב פ‬ (Ⅴ)

20. 30

And the children of Israel went up against the children of Benjamin on the third day, and put themselves in array against Gibeah, as at other times.

- Les enfants d'Israël montèrent contre les fils de Benjamin, le troisième jour, et ils se rangèrent en bataille devant Guibea, comme les autres fois. (Ⅱ)

- καὶ ἀνέβησαν οἱ υἱοὶ Ισραηλ πρὸς υἱοὺς Βενιαμιν ἐν τη̨̃ ἡμέρα̨ τη̨̃ τρίτη̨ καὶ συνη̃ψαν πρὸς τὴν Γαβαα ὡς ἅπαξ καὶ ἅπαξ (Ⅲ)

- et tertia vice, sicut semel et bis, contra Benjamin exercitum produxerunt. (Ⅳ)

- ‫ 30 ׃20 ויעלו בני ישראל אל בני בנימן ביום השלישי ויערכו אל הגבעה כפעם בפעם ‬ (Ⅴ)

20. 31

And the children of Benjamin went out against the people, and were drawn away from the city; and they began to smite of the people, and kill, as at other times, in the highways, of which one goeth up to the house of God, and the other to Gibeah in the field, about thirty men of Israel.

- Et les fils de Benjamin sortirent à la rencontre du peuple, et ils se laissèrent attirer loin de la ville. Ils commencèrent à frapper à mort parmi le peuple comme les autres fois, sur les routes dont l'une monte à Béthel et l'autre à Guibea par la campagne, et ils tuèrent environ trente hommes d'Israël. (Ⅱ)

- καὶ ἐξη̃λθον οἱ υἱοὶ Βενιαμιν εἰς συνάντησιν του̃ λαου̃ καὶ ἐξεκενώθησαν τη̃ς πόλεως καὶ ἤρξαντο πατάσσειν ἀπὸ του̃ λαου̃ τραυματίας ὡς ἅπαξ καὶ ἅπαξ ἐν ται̃ς ὁδοι̃ς ἥ ἐστιν μία ἀναβαίνουσα εἰς Βαιθηλ καὶ μία εἰς Γαβαα ἐν ἀγρω̨̃ ὡς τριάκοντα ἄνδρας ἐν Ισραηλ (Ⅲ)

- Sed et filii Benjamin audacter eruperunt de civitate, et fugientes adversarios longius persecuti sunt, ita ut vulnerarent ex eis sicut primo die et secundo, et cæderent per duas semitas vertentes terga, quarum una ferebatur in Bethel et altera in Gabaa, atque prosternerent triginta circiter viros : (Ⅳ)

- ‫ 31 ׃20 ויצאו בני בנימן לקראת העם הנתקו מן העיר ויחלו להכות מהעם חללים כפעם בפעם במסלות אשר אחת עלה בית אל ואחת גבעתה בשדה כשלשים איש בישראל ‬ (Ⅴ)

20. 32

And the children of Benjamin said, They are smitten down before us, as at the first. But the children of Israel said, Let us flee, and draw them from the city unto the highways.

- Les fils de Benjamin disaient: Les voilà battus devant nous comme auparavant! Mais les enfants d'Israël disaient: Fuyons, et attirons-les loin de la ville dans les chemins. (Ⅱ)

- καὶ εἰ̃παν οἱ υἱοὶ Βενιαμιν πίπτουσιν ἐνώπιον ἡμω̃ν ὡς τὸ πρω̃τον καὶ οἱ υἱοὶ Ισραηλ εἰ̃πον φύγωμεν καὶ ἐκκενώσωμεν αὐτοὺς ἀπὸ τη̃ς πόλεως εἰς τὰς ὁδούς καὶ ἐποίησαν οὕτως (Ⅲ)

- putaverunt enim solito eos more cedere. Qui fugam arte simulantes inierunt consilium ut abstraherent eos de civitate, et quasi fugientes ad supradictas semitas perducerent. (Ⅳ)

- ‫ 32 ׃20 ויאמרו בני בנימן נגפים הם לפנינו כבראשנה ובני ישראל אמרו ננוסה ונתקנהו מן העיר אל המסלות ‬ (Ⅴ)

20. 33

And all the men of Israel rose up out of their place, and put themselves in array at Baaltamar: and the liers in wait of Israel came forth out of their places, even out of the meadows of Gibeah.

- Tous les hommes d'Israël quittèrent leur position, et se rangèrent à Baal Thamar; et l'embuscade d'Israël s'élança du lieu où elle était, de Maaré Guibea. (Ⅱ)

- καὶ πα̃ς ἀνὴρ ἀνέστη ἐκ του̃ τόπου αὐτου̃ καὶ συνη̃ψαν ἐν Βααλθαμαρ καὶ τὸ ἔνεδρον Ισραηλ ἐπήρχετο ἐκ του̃ τόπου αὐτου̃ ἀπὸ Μααραγαβε (Ⅲ)

- Omnes itaque filii Israël surgentes de sedibus suis, tetenderunt aciem in loco qui vocatur Baalthamar. Insidiæ quoque, quæ circa urbem erant, paulatim se aperire cœperunt, (Ⅳ)

- ‫ 33 ׃20 וכל איש ישראל קמו ממקומו ויערכו בבעל תמר וארב ישראל מגיח ממקמו ממערה גבע ‬ (Ⅴ)

20. 34

And there came against Gibeah ten thousand chosen men out of all Israel, and the battle was sore: but they knew not that evil was near them.

- Dix mille hommes choisis sur tout Israël arrivèrent devant Guibea. Le combat fut rude, et les Benjamites ne se doutaient pas du désastre qu'ils allaient éprouver. (Ⅱ)

- καὶ ἠ̃λθον ἐξ ἐναντίας Γαβαα δέκα χιλιάδες ἀνδρω̃ν ἐκλεκτω̃ν ἐκ παντὸς Ισραηλ καὶ παράταξις βαρει̃α καὶ αὐτοὶ οὐκ ἔγνωσαν ὅτι φθάνει ἐπ' αὐτοὺς ἡ κακία (Ⅲ)

- et ab occidentali urbis parte procedere. Sed et alia decem millia virorum de universo Israël, habitatores urbis ad certamina provocabant. Ingravatumque est bellum contra filios Benjamin : et non intellexerunt quod ex omni parte illis instaret interitus. (Ⅳ)

- ‫ 34 ׃20 ויבאו מנגד לגבעה עשרת אלפים איש בחור מכל ישראל והמלחמה כבדה והם לא ידעו כי נגעת עליהם הרעה פ‬ (Ⅴ)

20. 35

And the LORD smote Benjamin before Israel: and the children of Israel destroyed of the Benjamites that day twenty and five thousand and an hundred men: all these drew the sword.

- L'Éternel battit Benjamin devant Israël, et les enfants d'Israël tuèrent ce jour-là vingt-cinq mille et cent hommes de Benjamin, tous tirant l'épée. (Ⅱ)

- καὶ ἐπάταξεν κύριος τὸν Βενιαμιν ἐνώπιον υἱω̃ν Ισραηλ καὶ διέφθειραν οἱ υἱοὶ Ισραηλ ἐκ του̃ Βενιαμιν ἐν τη̨̃ ἡμέρα̨ ἐκείνη̨ εἴκοσι καὶ πέντε χιλιάδας καὶ ἑκατὸν ἄνδρας πάντες οὑ̃τοι εἱ̃λκον ῥομφαίαν (Ⅲ)

- Percussitque eos Dominus in conspectu filiorum Israël, et interfecerunt ex eis in illo die viginti quinque millia, et centum viros, omnes bellatores et educentes gladium.\ (Ⅳ)

- ‫ 35 ׃20 ויגף‪[C]‬‪[c]‬ יהוה את בנימן לפני ישראל וישחיתו בני ישראל בבנימן ביום ההוא עשרים וחמשה אלף ומאה איש כל אלה שלף חרב ‬ (Ⅴ)

20. 36

So the children of Benjamin saw that they were smitten: for the men of Israel gave place to the Benjamites, because they trusted unto the liers in wait which they had set beside Gibeah.

- Les fils de Benjamin regardaient comme battus les hommes d'Israël, qui cédaient du terrain à Benjamin et se reposaient sur l'embuscade qu'ils avaient placée contre Guibea. (Ⅱ)

- καὶ εἰ̃δον οἱ υἱοὶ Βενιαμιν ὅτι ἐπλήγησαν καὶ ἔδωκεν ἀνὴρ Ισραηλ τόπον τω̨̃ Βενιαμιν ὅτι ἤλπισαν πρὸς τὸ ἔνεδρον ὃ ἔθηκαν ἐπὶ τὴν Γαβαα (Ⅲ)

- Filii autem Benjamin cum se inferiores esse vidissent, cœperunt fugere. Quod cernentes filii Israël, dederunt eis ad fugiendum locum, ut ad præparatas insidias devenirent, quas juxta urbem posuerant. (Ⅳ)

- ‫ 36 ׃20 ויראו בני בנימן כי נגפו ויתנו איש ישראל מקום לבנימן כי בטחו אל הארב אשר שמו אל הגבעה ‬ (Ⅴ)

20. 37

And the liers in wait hasted, and rushed upon Gibeah; and the liers in wait drew themselves along, and smote all the city with the edge of the sword.

- Les gens en embuscade se jetèrent promptement sur Guibea, ils se portèrent en avant et frappèrent toute la ville du tranchant de l'épée. (Ⅱ)

- καὶ ἐν τω̨̃ αὐτοὺς ὑποχωρη̃σαι καὶ τὸ ἔνεδρον ἐκινήθη καὶ ἐξέτειναν ἐπὶ τὴν Γαβαα καὶ ἐξεχύθη τὸ ἔνεδρον καὶ ἐπάταξαν τὴν πόλιν ἐν στόματι ῥομφαίας (Ⅲ)

- Qui cum repente de latibulis surrexissent, et Benjamin terga cædentibus daret, ingressi sunt civitatem, et percusserunt eam in ore gladii. (Ⅳ)

- ‫ 37 ׃20 והארב החישו ויפשטו אל הגבעה וימשך הארב ויך את כל העיר לפי חרב ‬ (Ⅴ)

20. 38

Now there was an appointed sign between the men of Israel and the liers in wait, that they should make a great flame with smoke rise up out of the city.

- Suivant un signal convenu avec les hommes d'Israël, ceux de l'embuscade devaient faire monter de la ville une épaisse fumée. (Ⅱ)

- καὶ σημει̃ον ἠ̃ν τοι̃ς υἱοι̃ς Ισραηλ μετὰ του̃ ἐνέδρου τη̃ς μάχης ἀνενέγκαι αὐτοὺς σύσσημον καπνου̃ ἀπὸ τη̃ς πόλεως (Ⅲ)

- Signum autem dederant filii Israël his quos in insidiis collocaverant, ut postquam urbem cepissent, ignem accenderent : ut ascendente in altum fumo, captam urbem demonstrarent. (Ⅳ)

- ‫ 38 ׃20 והמועד היה לאיש ישראל עם הארב הרב להעלותם משאת העשן מן העיר ‬ (Ⅴ)

20. 39

And when the men of Israel retired in the battle, Benjamin began to smite and kill of the men of Israel about thirty persons: for they said, Surely they are smitten down before us, as in the first battle.

- Les hommes d'Israël firent alors volte-face dans la bataille. Les Benjamites leur avaient tué déjà environ trente hommes, et ils disaient: Certainement les voilà battus devant nous comme dans le premier combat! (Ⅱ)

- καὶ εἰ̃δον οἱ υἱοὶ Ισραηλ ὅτι προκατελάβετο τὸ ἔνεδρον τὴν Γαβαα καὶ ἔστησαν ἐν τη̨̃ παρατάξει καὶ Βενιαμιν ἤρξατο πατάσσειν τραυματίας ἐν ἀνδράσιν Ισραηλ ὡς τριάκοντα ἄνδρας ὅτι εἰ̃παν πάλιν πτώσει πίπτουσιν ἐνώπιον ἡμω̃ν ὡς ἡ παράταξις ἡ πρώτη (Ⅲ)

- Quod cum cernerent filii Israël in ipso certamine positi (putaverunt enim filii Benjamin eos fugere, et instantius persequebantur, cæsis de exercitu eorum triginta viris), (Ⅳ)

- ‫ 39 ׃20 ויהפך איש ישראל במלחמה ובנימן החל להכות חללים באיש ישראל כשלשים איש כי אמרו אך נגוף נגף הוא לפנינו כמלחמה הראשנה ‬ (Ⅴ)

20. 40

But when the flame began to arise up out of the city with a pillar of smoke, the Benjamites looked behind them, and, behold, the flame of the city ascended up to heaven.

- Cependant une épaisse colonne de fumée commençait à s'élever de la ville. Les Benjamites regardèrent derrière eux; et voici, de la ville entière les flammes montaient vers le ciel. (Ⅱ)

- καὶ τὸ σύσσημον ἀνέβη ἐπὶ πλει̃ον ἐπὶ τη̃ς πόλεως ὡς στυ̃λος καπνου̃ καὶ ἐπέβλεψεν Βενιαμιν ὀπίσω αὐτου̃ καὶ ἰδοὺ ἀνέβη ἡ συντέλεια τη̃ς πόλεως ἕως οὐρανου̃ (Ⅲ)

- et viderent quasi columnam fumi de civitate conscendere : Benjamin quoque aspiciens retro, cum captam cerneret civitatem, et flammas in sublime ferri : (Ⅳ)

- ‫ 40 ׃20 והמשאת החלה לעלות מן העיר עמוד עשן ויפן בנימן אחריו והנה עלה כליל העיר השמימה ‬ (Ⅴ)

20. 41

And when the men of Israel turned again, the men of Benjamin were amazed: for they saw that evil was come upon them.

- Les hommes d'Israël avaient fait volte-face; et ceux de Benjamin furent épouvantés, en voyant le désastre qui allait les atteindre. (Ⅱ)

- καὶ ἀνὴρ Ισραηλ ἐπέστρεψεν καὶ ἔσπευσαν ἄνδρες Βενιαμιν ὅτι εἰ̃δον ὅτι συνήντησεν ἐπ' αὐτοὺς ἡ πονηρία (Ⅲ)

- qui prius simulaverant fugam, versa facie fortius resistebant. Quod cum vidissent filii Benjamin, in fugam versi sunt, (Ⅳ)

- ‫ 41 ׃20 ואיש ישראל הפך ויבהל איש בנימן כי ראה כי נגעה עליו הרעה ‬ (Ⅴ)

20. 42

Therefore they turned their backs before the men of Israel unto the way of the wilderness; but the battle overtook them; and them which came out of the cities they destroyed in the midst of them.

- Ils tournèrent le dos devant les hommes d'Israël, et s'enfuirent par le chemin du désert. Mais les assaillants s'attachèrent à leurs pas, et ils détruisirent pendant le trajet ceux qui étaient sortis des villes. (Ⅱ)

- καὶ ἐπέβλεψαν ἐνώπιον υἱω̃ν Ισραηλ εἰς ὁδὸν τη̃ς ἐρήμου καὶ ἔφυγον καὶ ἡ παράταξις ἔφθασεν ἐπ' αὐτούς καὶ οἱ ἀπὸ τω̃ν πόλεων διέφθειρον αὐτοὺς ἐν μέσω̨ αὐτω̃ν (Ⅲ)

- et ad viam deserti ire cœperunt, illuc quoque eos adversariis persequentibus : sed et hi qui urbem succenderant, occurrerunt eis. (Ⅳ)

- ‫ 42 ׃20 ויפנו לפני איש ישראל אל דרך המדבר והמלחמה הדביקתהו ואשר מהערים משחיתים אותו בתוכו ‬ (Ⅴ)

20. 43

Thus they inclosed the Benjamites round about, and chased them, and trode them down with ease over against Gibeah toward the sunrising.

- Ils enveloppèrent Benjamin, le poursuivirent, l'écrasèrent dès qu'il voulait se reposer, jusqu'en face de Guibea du côté du soleil levant. (Ⅱ)

- καὶ κατέκοπτον τὸν Βενιαμιν καὶ ἐδίωξαν αὐτὸν ἀπὸ Νουα κατὰ πόδα αὐτου̃ ἕως ἀπέναντι Γαβαα πρὸς ἀνατολὰς ἡλίου (Ⅲ)

- Atque ita factum est, ut ex utraque parte ab hostibus cæderentur, nec erat ulla requies morientium. Ceciderunt, atque prostrati sunt ad orientalem plagam urbis Gabaa. (Ⅳ)

- ‫ 43 ׃20 כתרו את בנימן הרדיפהו מנוחה הדריכהו עד נכח הגבעה ממזרח שמש ‬ (Ⅴ)

20. 44

And there fell of Benjamin eighteen thousand men; all these were men of valor.

- Il tomba dix-huit mille hommes de Benjamin, tous vaillants. (Ⅱ)

- καὶ ἔπεσαν ἀπὸ Βενιαμιν δέκα ὀκτὼ χιλιάδες ἀνδρω̃ν οἱ πάντες οὑ̃τοι ἄνδρες δυνάμεως (Ⅲ)

- Fuerunt autem qui in eodem loco interfecti sunt, decem et octo millia virorum, omnes robustissimi pugnatores.\ (Ⅳ)

- ‫ 44 ׃20 ויפלו מבנימן שמנה עשר אלף איש את כל אלה אנשי חיל ‬ (Ⅴ)

20. 45

And they turned and fled toward the wilderness unto the rock of Rimmon: and they gleaned of them in the highways five thousand men; and pursued hard after them unto Gidom, and slew two thousand men of them.

- Parmi ceux qui tournèrent le dos pour s'enfuir vers le désert au rocher de Rimmon, les hommes d'Israël en firent périr cinq mille sur les routes; ils les poursuivirent jusqu'à Guideom, et ils en tuèrent deux mille. (Ⅱ)

- καὶ ἐπέβλεψαν οἱ λοιποὶ καὶ ἔφευγον εἰς τὴν ἔρημον πρὸς τὴν πέτραν του̃ Ρεμμων καὶ ἐκαλαμήσαντο ἐξ αὐτω̃ν οἱ υἱοὶ Ισραηλ πεντακισχιλίους ἄνδρας καὶ κατέβησαν ὀπίσω αὐτω̃ν οἱ υἱοὶ Ισραηλ ἕως Γεδαν καὶ ἐπάταξαν ἐξ αὐτω̃ν δισχιλίους ἄνδρας (Ⅲ)

- Quod cum vidissent qui remanserant de Benjamin, fugerunt in solitudinem : et pergebant ad petram, cujus vocabulum est Remmon. In illa quoque fuga palantes, et in diversa tendentes, occiderunt quinque millia virorum. Et cum ultra tenderent, persecuti sunt eos, et interfecerunt etiam alia duo millia. (Ⅳ)

- ‫ 45 ׃20 ויפנו וינסו המדברה אל סלע הרמון ויעללהו במסלות חמשת אלפים איש וידביקו אחריו עד גדעם ויכו ממנו אלפים איש ‬ (Ⅴ)

20. 46

So that all which fell that day of Benjamin were twenty and five thousand men that drew the sword; all these were men of valor.

- Le nombre total des Benjamites qui périrent ce jour-là fut de vingt-cinq mille hommes tirant l'épée, tous vaillants. (Ⅱ)

- καὶ ἐγένοντο πάντες οἱ πίπτοντες ἀπὸ Βενιαμιν εἴκοσι πέντε χιλιάδες ἀνδρω̃ν ἑλκόντων ῥομφαίαν ἐν τη̨̃ ἡμέρα̨ ἐκείνη̨ οἱ πάντες οὑ̃τοι ἄνδρες δυνάμεως (Ⅲ)

- Et sic factum est, ut omnes qui ceciderant de Benjamin in diversis locis essent viginti quinque millia pugnatores ad bella promptissimi. (Ⅳ)

- ‫ 46 ׃20 ויהי כל הנפלים מבנימן עשרים וחמשה אלף איש שלף חרב ביום ההוא את כל אלה אנשי חיל ‬ (Ⅴ)

20. 47

But six hundred men turned and fled to the wilderness unto the rock Rimmon, and abode in the rock Rimmon four months.

- Six cents hommes, qui avaient tourné le dos et qui s'étaient enfuis vers le désert au rocher de Rimmon, demeurèrent là pendant quatre mois. (Ⅱ)

- καὶ ἐπέβλεψαν οἱ λοιποὶ καὶ ἔφυγον εἰς τὴν ἔρημον πρὸς τὴν πέτραν του̃ Ρεμμων ἑξακόσιοι ἄνδρες καὶ ἐκάθισαν ἐν πέτρα̨ Ρεμμων τέσσαρας μη̃νας (Ⅲ)

- Remanserunt itaque de omni numero Benjamin, qui evadere et fugere in solitudinem potuerunt, sexcenti viri : sederuntque in petra Remmon mensibus quatuor. (Ⅳ)

- ‫ 47 ׃20 ויפנו וינסו המדברה אל סלע הרמון שש מאות איש וישבו בסלע רמון ארבעה חדשים ‬ (Ⅴ)

20. 48

And the men of Israel turned again upon the children of Benjamin, and smote them with the edge of the sword, as well the men of every city, as the beast, and all that came to hand: also they set on fire all the cities that they came to.

- Les hommes d'Israël revinrent vers les fils de Benjamin, et ils les frappèrent du tranchant de l'épée, depuis les hommes des villes jusqu'au bétail, et tout ce que l'on trouva. Ils mirent aussi le feu à toutes les villes qui existaient. (Ⅱ)

- καὶ οἱ υἱοὶ Ισραηλ ἐπέστρεψαν πρὸς υἱοὺς Βενιαμιν καὶ ἐπάταξαν αὐτοὺς ἐν στόματι ῥομφαίας ἀπὸ πόλεως Μεθλα καὶ ἕως κτήνους καὶ ἕως παντὸς του̃ εὑρισκομένου εἰς πάσας τὰς πόλεις καὶ τὰς πόλεις τὰς εὑρεθείσας ἐνέπρησαν ἐν πυρί (Ⅲ)

- Regressi autem filii Israël, omnes reliquias civitatis a viris usque ad jumenta gladio percusserunt, cunctasque urbes et viculos Benjamin vorax flamma consumpsit. (Ⅳ)

- ‫ 48 ׃20 ואיש ישראל שבו אל בני בנימן ויכום לפי חרב מעיר מתם עד בהמה עד כל הנמצא גם כל הערים הנמצאות שלחו באש פ‬ (Ⅴ)
