19. 1

And it came to pass in those days, when there was no king in Israel, that there was a certain Levite sojourning on the side of mount Ephraim, who took to him a concubine out of Bethlehemjudah.

- Dans ce temps où il n'y avait point de roi en Israël, un Lévite, qui séjournait à l'extrémité de la montagne d'Éphraïm, prit pour sa concubine une femme de Bethléhem de Juda. (Ⅱ)

- καὶ ἐγένετο ἐν ται̃ς ἡμέραις ἐκείναις καὶ οὐκ ἠ̃ν βασιλεὺς ἐν Ισραηλ καὶ ἐγένετο ἀνὴρ Λευίτης παροικω̃ν ἐν μηροι̃ς ὄρους Εφραιμ καὶ ἔλαβεν αὐτω̨̃ γυναι̃κα παλλακὴν ἀπὸ Βηθλεεμ Ιουδα (Ⅲ)

- Fuit quidam vir Levites habitans in latere montis Ephraim, qui accepit uxorem de Bethlehem Juda : (Ⅳ)

- ‫ 1 ׃19 ויהי בימים ההם ומלך אין בישראל ויהי איש לוי גר בירכתי הר אפרים ויקח לו אשה פילגש מבית לחם יהודה ‬ (Ⅴ)

19. 2

And his concubine played the whore against him, and went away from him unto her father's house to Bethlehemjudah, and was there four whole months.

- Sa concubine lui fit infidélité, et elle le quitta pour aller dans la maison de son père à Bethléhem de Juda, où elle resta l'espace de quatre mois. (Ⅱ)

- καὶ ἐπορεύθη ἀπ' αὐτου̃ ἡ παλλακὴ αὐτου̃ καὶ ἀπη̃λθεν παρ' αὐτου̃ εἰς οἰ̃κον πατρὸς αὐτη̃ς εἰς Βηθλεεμ Ιουδα καὶ ἠ̃ν ἐκει̃ ἡμέρας τεσσάρων μηνω̃ν (Ⅲ)

- quæ reliquit eum, et reversa est in domum patris sui in Bethlehem, mansitque apud eum quatuor mensibus. (Ⅳ)

- ‫ 2 ׃19 ותזנה עליו פילגשו ותלך מאתו אל בית אביה אל בית לחם יהודה ותהי שם ימים ארבעה חדשים ‬ (Ⅴ)

19. 3

And her husband arose, and went after her, to speak friendly unto her, and to bring her again, having his servant with him, and a couple of asses: and she brought him into her father's house: and when the father of the damsel saw him, he rejoiced to meet him.

- Son mari se leva et alla vers elle, pour parler à son coeur et la ramener. Il avait avec lui son serviteur et deux ânes. Elle le fit entrer dans la maison de son père; et quand le père de la jeune femme le vit, il le reçut avec joie. (Ⅱ)

- καὶ ἀνέστη ὁ ἀνὴρ αὐτη̃ς καὶ ἐπορεύθη ὀπίσω αὐτη̃ς του̃ λαλη̃σαι ἐπὶ καρδίαν αὐτη̃ς του̃ ἐπιστρέψαι αὐτὴν αὐτω̨̃ καὶ νεανίας αὐτου̃ μετ' αὐτου̃ καὶ ζευ̃γος ὄνων καὶ ἥδε εἰσήνεγκεν αὐτὸν εἰς οἰ̃κον πατρὸς αὐτη̃ς καὶ εἰ̃δεν αὐτὸν ὁ πατὴρ τη̃ς νεάνιδος καὶ ηὐφράνθη εἰς συνάντησιν αὐτου̃ (Ⅲ)

- Secutusque est eam vir suus, volens reconciliari ei, atque blandiri, et secum reducere, habens in comitatu puerum et duos asinos : quæ suscepit eum, et introduxit in domum patris sui. Quod cum audisset socer ejus, eumque vidisset, occurrit ei lætus, (Ⅳ)

- ‫ 3 ׃19 ויקם אישה וילך אחריה לדבר על לבה *להשיבו **להשיבה ונערו עמו וצמד חמרים ותביאהו בית אביה ויראהו אבי הנערה וישמח לקראתו ‬ (Ⅴ)

19. 4

And his father in law, the damsel's father, retained him; and he abode with him three days: so they did eat and drink, and lodged there.

- Son beau-père, le père de la jeune femme, le retint trois jours chez lui. Ils mangèrent et burent, et ils y passèrent la nuit. (Ⅱ)

- καὶ κατέσχεν αὐτὸν ὁ γαμβρὸς αὐτου̃ ὁ πατὴρ τη̃ς νεάνιδος καὶ ἐκάθισεν μετ' αὐτου̃ ἐπὶ τρει̃ς ἡμέρας καὶ ἔφαγον καὶ ἔπιον καὶ ηὐλίσθησαν ἐκει̃ (Ⅲ)

- et amplexatus est hominem. Mansitque gener in domo soceri tribus diebus, comedens cum eo et bibens familiariter. (Ⅳ)

- ‫ 4 ׃19 ויחזק בו חתנו אבי הנערה וישב אתו שלשת ימים ויאכלו וישתו וילינו שם ‬ (Ⅴ)

19. 5

And it came to pass on the fourth day, when they arose early in the morning, that he rose up to depart: and the damsel's father said unto his son in law, Comfort thine heart with a morsel of bread, and afterward go your way.

- Le quatrième jour, ils se levèrent de bon matin, et le Lévite se disposait à partir. Mais le père de la jeune femme dit à son gendre: Prends un morceau de pain pour fortifier ton coeur; vous partirez ensuite. (Ⅱ)

- καὶ ἐγένετο τη̨̃ ἡμέρα̨ τη̨̃ τετάρτη̨ καὶ ὤρθρισαν τὸ πρωί καὶ ἀνέστη του̃ πορευθη̃ναι καὶ εἰ̃πεν ὁ πατὴρ τη̃ς νεάνιδος πρὸς τὸν νυμφίον αὐτου̃ στήρισόν σου τὴν καρδίαν ψωμω̨̃ ἄρτου καὶ μετὰ του̃το πορεύσεσθε (Ⅲ)

- Die autem quarto de nocte consurgens, proficisci voluit : quem tenuit socer, et ait ad eum : Gusta prius pauxillum panis, et conforta stomachum, et sic proficisceris. (Ⅳ)

- ‫ 5 ׃19 ויהי ביום הרביעי וישכימו בבקר ויקם ללכת ויאמר אבי הנערה אל חתנו סעד לבך פת לחם ואחר תלכו ‬ (Ⅴ)

19. 6

And they sat down, and did eat and drink both of them together: for the damsel's father had said unto the man, Be content, I pray thee, and tarry all night, and let thine heart be merry.

- Et ils s'assirent, et ils mangèrent et burent eux deux ensemble. Puis le père de la jeune femme dit au mari: Décide-toi donc à passer la nuit, et que ton coeur se réjouisse. (Ⅱ)

- καὶ ἐκάθισεν καὶ ἔφαγον οἱ δύο ἐπὶ τὸ αὐτὸ καὶ ἔπιον καὶ εἰ̃πεν ὁ πατὴρ τη̃ς νεάνιδος πρὸς τὸν ἄνδρα ἄγε δὴ αὐλίσθητι καὶ ἀγαθυνθήσεται ἡ καρδία σου (Ⅲ)

- Sederuntque simul, ac comederunt et biberunt. Dixitque pater puellæ ad generum suum : Quæso te ut hodie hic maneas, pariterque lætemur. (Ⅳ)

- ‫ 6 ׃19 וישבו ויאכלו שניהם יחדו וישתו ויאמר אבי הנערה אל האיש הואל נא ולין ויטב לבך ‬ (Ⅴ)

19. 7

And when the man rose up to depart, his father in law urged him: therefore he lodged there again.

- Le mari se levait pour s'en aller; mais, sur les instances de son beau-père, il passa encore la nuit. (Ⅱ)

- καὶ ἀνέστη ὁ ἀνὴρ του̃ πορεύεσθαι καὶ ἐβιάσατο αὐτὸν ὁ γαμβρὸς αὐτου̃ καὶ ἐκάθισεν καὶ ηὐλίσθη ἐκει̃ (Ⅲ)

- At ille consurgens, cœpit velle proficisci. Et nihilominus obnixe eum socer tenuit, et apud se fecit manere. (Ⅳ)

- ‫ 7 ׃19 ויקם האיש ללכת ויפצר בו חתנו וישב וילן שם ‬ (Ⅴ)

19. 8

And he arose early in the morning on the fifth day to depart; and the damsel's father said, Comfort thine heart, I pray thee. And they tarried until afternoon, and they did eat both of them.

- Le cinquième jour, il se leva de bon matin pour partir. Alors le père de la jeune femme dit: Fortifie ton coeur, je te prie; et restez jusqu'au déclin du jour. Et ils mangèrent eux deux. (Ⅱ)

- καὶ ὤρθρισεν τὸ πρωὶ τη̨̃ ἡμέρα̨ τη̨̃ πέμπτη̨ του̃ πορευθη̃ναι καὶ εἰ̃πεν ὁ πατὴρ τη̃ς νεάνιδος στήρισον δὴ τὴν καρδίαν σου καὶ στράτευσον ἕως κλι̃ναι τὴν ἡμέραν καὶ ἔφαγον οἱ δύο (Ⅲ)

- Mane autem facto, parabat Levites iter. Cui socer rursum : Oro te, inquit, ut paululum cibi capias, et assumptis viribus donec increscat dies, postea proficiscaris. Comederunt ergo simul. (Ⅳ)

- ‫ 8 ׃19 וישכם בבקר ביום החמישי ללכת ויאמר אבי הנערה סעד נא לבבך והתמהמהו עד נטות היום ויאכלו שניהם ‬ (Ⅴ)

19. 9

And when the man rose up to depart, he, and his concubine, and his servant, his father in law, the damsel's father, said unto him, Behold, now the day draweth toward evening, I pray you tarry all night: behold, the day groweth to an end, lodge here, that thine heart may be merry; and to morrow get you early on your way, that thou mayest go home.

- Le mari se levait pour s'en aller, avec sa concubine et son serviteur; mais son beau-père, le père de la jeune femme, lui dit: Voici, le jour baisse, il se fait tard, passez donc la nuit; voici, le jour est sur son déclin, passe ici la nuit, et que ton coeur se réjouisse; demain vous vous lèverez de bon matin pour vous mettre en route, et tu t'en iras à ta tente. (Ⅱ)

- καὶ ἀνέστη ὁ ἀνὴρ του̃ πορευθη̃ναι αὐτὸς καὶ ἡ παλλακὴ αὐτου̃ καὶ ὁ νεανίας αὐτου̃ καὶ εἰ̃πεν αὐτω̨̃ ὁ γαμβρὸς αὐτου̃ ὁ πατὴρ τη̃ς νεάνιδος ἰδοὺ δὴ ἠσθένησεν ἡ ἡμέρα εἰς τὴν ἑσπέραν αὐλίσθητι ὡ̃δε καὶ ἀγαθυνθήσεται ἡ καρδία σου καὶ ὀρθριει̃τε αὔριον εἰς ὁδὸν ὑμω̃ν καὶ πορεύση̨ εἰς τὸ σκήνωμά σου (Ⅲ)

- Surrexitque adolescens, ut pergeret cum uxore sua et puero. Cui rursum locutus est socer : Considera quod dies ad occasum declivior sit, et propinquat ad vesperum : mane apud me etiam hodie, et duc lætum diem, et cras proficisceris ut vadas in domum tuam. (Ⅳ)

- ‫ 9 ׃19 ויקם האיש ללכת הוא ופילגשו ונערו ויאמר לו חתנו אבי הנערה הנה נא רפה היום לערב לינו נא הנה חנות היום לין פה וייטב לבבך והשכמתם מחר לדרככם והלכת לאהלך ‬ (Ⅴ)

19. 10

But the man would not tarry that night, but he rose up and departed, and came over against Jebus, which is Jerusalem; and there were with him two asses saddled, his concubine also was with him.

- Le mari ne voulut point passer la nuit, il se leva et partit. Il arriva jusque devant Jebus, qui est Jérusalem, avec les deux ânes bâtés et avec sa concubine. (Ⅱ)

- καὶ οὐκ εὐδόκησεν ὁ ἀνὴρ αὐλισθη̃ναι καὶ ἀνέστη καὶ ἀπη̃λθεν καὶ ἠ̃λθεν ἕως ἀπέναντι Ιεβους αὕτη ἐστὶν Ιερουσαλημ καὶ μετ' αὐτου̃ ζευ̃γος ὄνων ἐπισεσαγμένων καὶ ἡ παλλακὴ αὐτου̃ μετ' αὐτου̃ (Ⅲ)

- Noluit gener acquiescere sermonibus ejus : sed statim perrexit, et venit contra Jebus, quæ altero nomine vocatur Jerusalem, ducens secum duos asinos onustos, et concubinam.\ (Ⅳ)

- ‫ 10 ׃19 ולא אבה האיש ללון ויקם וילך ויבא עד נכח יבוס היא ירושלם ועמו צמד חמורים חבושים ופילגשו עמו ‬ (Ⅴ)

19. 11

And when they were by Jebus, the day was far spent; and the servant said unto his master, Come, I pray thee, and let us turn in into this city of the Jebusites, and lodge in it.

- Lorsqu'ils furent près de Jebus, le jour avait beaucoup baissé. Le serviteur dit alors à son maître: Allons, dirigeons-nous vers cette ville des Jébusiens, et nous y passerons la nuit. (Ⅱ)

- καὶ ἤλθοσαν ἕως Ιεβους καὶ ἡ ἡμέρα προβεβήκει σφόδρα καὶ εἰ̃πεν ὁ νεανίας πρὸς τὸν κύριον αὐτου̃ δευ̃ρο δὴ καὶ ἐκκλίνωμεν εἰς πόλιν του̃ Ιεβουσι ταύτην καὶ αὐλισθω̃μεν ἐν αὐτη̨̃ (Ⅲ)

- Jamque erant juxta Jebus, et dies mutabatur in noctem : dixitque puer ad dominum suum : Veni, obsecro : declinemus ad urbem Jebusæorum, et maneamus in ea. (Ⅳ)

- ‫ 11 ׃19 הם עם יבוס והיום רד מאד ויאמר הנער אל אדניו לכה נא ונסורה אל עיר היבוסי הזאת ונלין בה ‬ (Ⅴ)

19. 12

And his master said unto him, We will not turn aside hither into the city of a stranger, that is not of the children of Israel; we will pass over to Gibeah.

- Son maître lui répondit: Nous n'entrerons pas dans une ville d'étrangers, où il n'y a point d'enfants d'Israël, nous irons jusqu'à Guibea. (Ⅱ)

- καὶ εἰ̃πεν πρὸς αὐτὸν ὁ κύριος αὐτου̃ οὐκ ἐκκλινου̃μεν εἰς πόλιν ἀλλοτρίαν ἐν ἡ̨̃ οὐκ ἔστιν ἀπὸ υἱω̃ν Ισραηλ ὡ̃δε καὶ παρελευσόμεθα ἕως Γαβαα (Ⅲ)

- Cui respondit dominus : Non ingrediar oppidum gentis alienæ, quæ non est de filiis Israël : sed transibo usque Gabaa, (Ⅳ)

- ‫ 12 ׃19 ויאמר אליו אדניו לא נסור אל עיר נכרי אשר לא מבני ישראל הנה ועברנו עד גבעה ‬ (Ⅴ)

19. 13

And he said unto his servant, Come, and let us draw near to one of these places to lodge all night, in Gibeah, or in Ramah.

- Il dit encore à son serviteur: Allons, approchons-nous de l'un de ces lieux, Guibea ou Rama, et nous y passerons la nuit. (Ⅱ)

- καὶ εἰ̃πεν τω̨̃ νεανία̨ αὐτου̃ δευ̃ρο καὶ ἐγγίσωμεν ἑνὶ τω̃ν τόπων καὶ αὐλισθησόμεθα ἐν Γαβαα ἢ ἐν Ραμα (Ⅲ)

- et cum illuc pervenero, manebimus in ea, aut certe in urbe Rama. (Ⅳ)

- ‫ 13 ׃19 ויאמר לנערו לך‪[Q]‬‪[q]‬ ונקרבה באחד המקמות ולנו בגבעה או ברמה ‬ (Ⅴ)

19. 14

And they passed on and went their way; and the sun went down upon them when they were by Gibeah, which belongeth to Benjamin.

- Ils continuèrent à marcher, et le soleil se coucha quand ils furent près de Guibea, qui appartient à Benjamin. (Ⅱ)

- καὶ παρη̃λθον καὶ ἐπορεύθησαν καὶ ἔδυ ὁ ἥλιος αὐτοι̃ς ἐχόμενα τη̃ς Γαβαα ἥ ἐστιν τω̨̃ Βενιαμιν (Ⅲ)

- Transierunt ergo Jebus, et cœptum carpebant iter, occubuitque eis sol juxta Gabaa, quæ est in tribu Benjamin : (Ⅳ)

- ‫ 14 ׃19 ויעברו וילכו ותבא להם השמש אצל הגבעה אשר לבנימן ‬ (Ⅴ)

19. 15

And they turned aside thither, to go in and to lodge in Gibeah: and when he went in, he sat him down in a street of the city: for there was no man that took them into his house to lodging.

- Ils se dirigèrent de ce côté pour aller passer la nuit à Guibea. Le Lévite entra, et il s'arrêta sur la place de la ville. Il n'y eut personne qui les reçût dans sa maison pour qu'ils y passassent la nuit. (Ⅱ)

- καὶ ἐξέκλιναν ἐκει̃ του̃ εἰσελθει̃ν αὐλισθη̃ναι ἐν Γαβαα καὶ εἰση̃λθον καὶ ἐκάθισαν ἐν τη̨̃ πλατεία̨ τη̃ς πόλεως καὶ οὐκ ἠ̃ν ἀνὴρ συνάγων αὐτοὺς εἰς οἰκίαν αὐλισθη̃ναι (Ⅲ)

- diverteruntque ad eam, ut manerent ibi. Quo cum intrassent, sedebant in platea civitatis, et nullus eos recipere voluit hospitio. (Ⅳ)

- ‫ 15 ׃19 ויסרו שם לבוא ללון בגבעה ויבא וישב ברחוב העיר ואין איש מאסף אותם הביתה ללון ‬ (Ⅴ)

19. 16

And, behold, there came an old man from his work out of the field at even, which was also of mount Ephraim; and he sojourned in Gibeah: but the men of the place were Benjamites.

- Et voici, un vieillard revenait le soir de travailler aux champs; cet homme était de la montagne d'Éphraïm, il séjournait à Guibea, et les gens du lieu étaient Benjamites. (Ⅱ)

- καὶ ἰδοὺ ἀνὴρ πρεσβύτης ἤρχετο ἐξ ἔργων αὐτου̃ ἐξ ἀγρου̃ ἐν ἑσπέρα̨ καὶ ὁ ἀνὴρ ἠ̃ν ἐξ ὄρους Εφραιμ καὶ αὐτὸς παρώ̨κει ἐν Γαβαα καὶ οἱ ἄνδρες του̃ τόπου υἱοὶ Βενιαμιν (Ⅲ)

- Et ecce, apparuit homo senex, revertens de agro et de opere suo vesperi, qui et ipse de monte erat Ephraim, et peregrinus habitabat in Gabaa : homines autem regionis illius erant filii Jemini. (Ⅳ)

- ‫ 16 ׃19 והנה איש זקן בא מן מעשהו מן השדה בערב והאיש מהר אפרים והוא גר בגבעה ואנשי המקום בני ימיני ‬ (Ⅴ)

19. 17

And when he had lifted up his eyes, he saw a wayfaring man in the street of the city: and the old man said, Whither goest thou? and whence comest thou?

- Il leva les yeux, et vit le voyageur sur la place de la ville. Et le vieillard lui dit: Où vas-tu, et d'où viens-tu? (Ⅱ)

- καὶ ἠ̃ρεν τοὺς ὀφθαλμοὺς αὐτου̃ καὶ εἰ̃δεν τὸν ὁδοιπόρον ἄνδρα ἐν τη̨̃ πλατεία̨ τη̃ς πόλεως καὶ εἰ̃πεν ὁ ἀνὴρ ὁ πρεσβύτης που̃ πορεύη̨ καὶ πόθεν ἔρχη̨ (Ⅲ)

- Elevatisque oculis, vidit senex sedentem hominem cum sarcinulis suis in platea civitatis, et dixit ad eum : Unde venis ? et quo vadis ? (Ⅳ)

- ‫ 17 ׃19 וישא עיניו וירא את האיש הארח ברחב העיר ויאמר האיש‪[C]‬‪[c]‬ הזקן אנה תלך ומאין תבוא ‬ (Ⅴ)

19. 18

And he said unto him, We are passing from Bethlehemjudah toward the side of mount Ephraim; from thence am I: and I went to Bethlehemjudah, but I am now going to the house of the LORD; and there is no man that receiveth me to house.

- Il lui répondit: Nous allons de Bethléhem de Juda jusqu'à l'extrémité de la montagne d'Éphraïm, d'où je suis. J'étais allé à Bethléhem de Juda, et je me rends à la maison de l'Éternel. Mais il n'y a personne qui me reçoive dans sa demeure. (Ⅱ)

- καὶ εἰ̃πεν πρὸς αὐτόν παραπορευόμεθα ἡμει̃ς ἀπὸ Βηθλεεμ Ιουδα ἕως μηρω̃ν ὄρους Εφραιμ ἐκει̃θεν ἐγώ εἰμι καὶ ἐπορεύθην ἕως Βηθλεεμ Ιουδα καὶ εἰς τὸν οἰ̃κόν μου ἐγὼ πορεύομαι καὶ οὐκ ἔστιν ἀνὴρ συνάγων με εἰς τὴν οἰκίαν (Ⅲ)

- Qui respondit ei : Profecti sumus de Bethlehem Juda, et pergimus ad locum nostrum, qui est in latere montis Ephraim, unde ieramus in Bethlehem : et nunc vadimus ad domum Dei, nullusque sub tectum suum nos vult recipere, (Ⅳ)

- ‫ 18 ׃19 ויאמר אליו עברים אנחנו מבית לחם יהודה עד ירכתי הר אפרים משם אנכי ואלך עד בית לחם יהודה ואת בית יהוה אני הלך ואין איש מאסף אותי הביתה ‬ (Ⅴ)

19. 19

Yet there is both straw and provender for our asses; and there is bread and wine also for me, and for thy handmaid, and for the young man which is with thy servants: there is no want of any thing.

- Nous avons cependant de la paille et du fourrage pour nos ânes; nous avons aussi du pain et du vin pour moi, pour ta servante, et pour le garçon qui est avec tes serviteurs. Il ne nous manque rien. (Ⅱ)

- καί γε ἄχυρα καὶ χορτάσματά ἐστιν τοι̃ς ὄνοις ἡμω̃ν καὶ ἄρτοι καὶ οἰ̃νός ἐστιν ἐμοὶ καὶ τη̨̃ παιδίσκη̨ καὶ τω̨̃ νεανίσκω̨ μετὰ τω̃ν παιδίων σου οὐκ ἔστιν ὑστέρημα παντὸς πράγματος (Ⅲ)

- habentes paleas et fœnum in asinorum pabulum, et panem ac vinum in meos et ancillæ tuæ usus, et pueri qui mecum est : nulla re indigemus nisi hospitio. (Ⅳ)

- ‫ 19 ׃19 וגם תבן גם מספוא יש לחמורינו וגם לחם ויין יש לי ולאמתך ולנער עם עבדיך אין מחסור כל דבר ‬ (Ⅴ)

19. 20

And the old man said, Peace be with thee; howsoever let all thy wants lie upon me; only lodge not in the street.

- Le vieillard dit: Que la paix soit avec toi! Je me charge de tous tes besoins, tu ne passeras pas la nuit sur la place. (Ⅱ)

- καὶ εἰ̃πεν ὁ ἀνὴρ ὁ πρεσβύτης εἰρήνη σοι πλὴν πα̃ν ὑστέρημά σου ἐπ' ἐμέ πλὴν ἐν τη̨̃ πλατεία̨ οὐ μὴ αὐλισθήση̨ (Ⅲ)

- Cui respondit senex : Pax tecum sit, ego præbebo omnia quæ necessaria sunt : tantum, quæso, ne in platea maneas. (Ⅳ)

- ‫ 20 ׃19 ויאמר האיש הזקן שלום לך רק כל מחסורך עלי רק ברחוב אל תלן ‬ (Ⅴ)

19. 21

So he brought him into his house, and gave provender unto the asses: and they washed their feet, and did eat and drink.

- Il les fit entrer dans sa maison, et il donna du fourrage aux ânes. Les voyageurs se lavèrent les pieds; puis ils mangèrent et burent. (Ⅱ)

- καὶ εἰσήνεγκεν αὐτὸν εἰς τὸν οἰ̃κον αὐτου̃ καὶ τόπον ἐποίησεν τοι̃ς ὄνοις καὶ αὐτοὶ ἐνίψαντο τοὺς πόδας αὐτω̃ν καὶ ἔφαγον καὶ ἔπιον (Ⅲ)

- Introduxitque eum in domum suam, et pabulum asinis præbuit : ac postquam laverunt pedes suos, recepit eos in convivium.\ (Ⅳ)

- ‫ 21 ׃19 ויביאהו לביתו ויבול‪[Q]‬‪[n]‬‪[q]‬ לחמורים וירחצו רגליהם ויאכלו וישתו ‬ (Ⅴ)

19. 22

Now as they were making their hearts merry, behold, the men of the city, certain sons of Belial, beset the house round about, and beat at the door, and spake to the master of the house, the old man, saying, Bring forth the man that came into thine house, that we may know him.

- Pendant qu'ils étaient à se réjouir, voici, les hommes de la ville, gens pervers, entourèrent la maison, frappèrent à la porte, et dirent au vieillard, maître de la maison: Fais sortir l'homme qui est entré chez toi, pour que nous le connaissions. (Ⅱ)

- αὐτοὶ δ' ἀγαθύνοντες καρδίαν αὐτω̃ν καὶ ἰδοὺ ἄνδρες τη̃ς πόλεως υἱοὶ παρανόμων ἐκύκλωσαν τὴν οἰκίαν κρούοντες ἐπὶ τὴν θύραν καὶ εἰ̃πον πρὸς τὸν ἄνδρα τὸν κύριον του̃ οἴκου τὸν πρεσβύτην λέγοντες ἐξένεγκε τὸν ἄνδρα ὃς εἰση̃λθεν εἰς τὴν οἰκίαν σου ἵνα γνω̃μεν αὐτόν (Ⅲ)

- Illis epulantibus, et post laborem itineris cibo et potu reficientibus corpora, venerunt viri civitatis illius, filii Belial (id est, absque jugo), et circumdantes domum senis, fores pulsare cœperunt, clamantes ad dominum domus atque dicentes : Educ virum, qui ingressus est domum tuam, ut abutamur eo. (Ⅳ)

- ‫ 22 ׃19 המה מיטיבים את לבם והנה אנשי העיר אנשי בני בליעל נסבו את הבית מתדפקים על הדלת ויאמרו אל האיש בעל הבית הזקן לאמר הוצא את האיש אשר בא אל ביתך ונדענו ‬ (Ⅴ)

19. 23

And the man, the master of the house, went out unto them, and said unto them, Nay, my brethren, nay, I pray you, do not so wickedly; seeing that this man is come into mine house, do not this folly.

- Le maître de la maison, se présentant à eux, leur dit: Non, mes frères, ne faites pas le mal, je vous prie; puisque cet homme est entré dans ma maison, ne commettez pas cette infamie. (Ⅱ)

- καὶ ἐξη̃λθεν πρὸς αὐτοὺς ὁ ἀνὴρ ὁ κύριος του̃ οἴκου καὶ εἰ̃πεν μή ἀδελφοί μὴ κακοποιήσητε δή μετὰ τὸ εἰσελθει̃ν τὸν ἄνδρα του̃τον εἰς τὴν οἰκίαν μου μὴ ποιήσητε τὴν ἀφροσύνην ταύτην (Ⅲ)

- Egressusque est ad eos senex, et ait : Nolite, fratres, nolite facere malum hoc, quia ingressus est homo hospitium meum : et cessate ab hac stultitia. (Ⅳ)

- ‫ 23 ׃19 ויצא אליהם האיש בעל הבית ויאמר אלהם אל אחי אל תרעו נא אחרי אשר בא האיש הזה אל ביתי‪[U]‬ אל תעשו את הנבלה הזאת ‬ (Ⅴ)

19. 24

Behold, here is my daughter a maiden, and his concubine; them I will bring out now, and humble ye them, and do with them what seemeth good unto you: but unto this man do not so vile a thing.

- Voici, j'ai une fille vierge, et cet homme a une concubine; je vous les amènerai dehors; vous les déshonorerez, et vous leur ferez ce qu'il vous plaira. Mais ne commettez pas sur cet homme une action aussi infâme. (Ⅱ)

- ἰδὲ ἡ θυγάτηρ μου ἡ παρθένος καὶ ἡ παλλακὴ αὐτου̃ ἐξάξω αὐτάς καὶ ταπεινώσατε αὐτὰς καὶ ποιήσατε αὐται̃ς τὸ ἀγαθὸν ἐν ὀφθαλμοι̃ς ὑμω̃ν καὶ τω̨̃ ἀνδρὶ τούτω̨ οὐ ποιήσετε τὸ ῥη̃μα τη̃ς ἀφροσύνης ταύτης (Ⅲ)

- Habeo filiam virginem, et hic homo habet concubinam : educam eas ad vos, ut humilietis eas, et vestram libidinem compleatis : tantum, obsecro, ne scelus hoc contra naturam operemini in virum. (Ⅳ)

- ‫ 24 ׃19 הנה בתי הבתולה ופילגשהו אוציאה נא אותם וענו אותם ועשו להם הטוב בעיניכם ולאיש הזה לא תעשו דבר הנבלה הזאת ‬ (Ⅴ)

19. 25

But the men would not hearken to him: so the man took his concubine, and brought her forth unto them; and they knew her, and abused her all the night until the morning: and when the day began to spring, they let her go.

- Ces gens ne voulurent point l'écouter. Alors l'homme prit sa concubine, et la leur amena dehors. Ils la connurent, et ils abusèrent d'elle toute la nuit jusqu'au matin; puis ils la renvoyèrent au lever de l'aurore. (Ⅱ)

- καὶ οὐκ εὐδόκησαν οἱ ἄνδρες του̃ εἰσακου̃σαι αὐτου̃ καὶ ἐπελάβετο ὁ ἀνὴρ τη̃ς παλλακη̃ς αὐτου̃ καὶ ἐξήγαγεν αὐτὴν πρὸς αὐτοὺς ἔξω καὶ ἔγνωσαν αὐτὴν καὶ ἐνέπαιζον ἐν αὐτη̨̃ ὅλην τὴν νύκτα ἕως πρωί καὶ ἐξαπέστειλαν αὐτήν ὡς ἀνέβη τὸ πρωί (Ⅲ)

- Nolebant acquiescere sermonibus illius : quod cernens homo, eduxit ad eos concubinam suam, et eis tradidit illudendam : qua cum tota nocte abusi essent, dimiserunt eam mane. (Ⅳ)

- ‫ 25 ׃19 ולא אבו האנשים לשמע לו ויחזק האיש בפילגשו ויצא אליהם החוץ וידעו אותה ויתעללו בה כל הלילה עד הבקר וישלחוה *בעלות **כעלות השחר ‬ (Ⅴ)

19. 26

Then came the woman in the dawning of the day, and fell down at the door of the man's house where her lord was, till it was light.

- Vers le matin, cette femme alla tomber à l'entrée de la maison de l'homme chez qui était son mari, et elle resta là jusqu'au jour. (Ⅱ)

- καὶ ἠ̃λθεν ἡ γυνὴ πρὸς τὸν ὄρθρον καὶ ἔπεσεν παρὰ τὴν θύραν του̃ οἴκου οὑ̃ ἠ̃ν αὐτη̃ς ἐκει̃ ὁ ἀνήρ ἕως του̃ διαφω̃σαι (Ⅲ)

- At mulier, recedentibus tenebris, venit ad ostium domus, ubi manebat dominus suus, et ibi corruit. (Ⅳ)

- ‫ 26 ׃19 ותבא האשה לפנות הבקר ותפל פתח בית האיש אשר אדוניה שם עד האור ‬ (Ⅴ)

19. 27

And her lord rose up in the morning, and opened the doors of the house, and went out to go his way: and, behold, the woman his concubine was fallen down at the door of the house, and her hands were upon the threshold.

- Et le matin, son mari se leva, ouvrit la porte de la maison, et sortit pour continuer son chemin. Mais voici, la femme, sa concubine, était étendue à l'entrée de la maison, les mains sur le seuil. (Ⅱ)

- καὶ ἀνέστη ὁ ἀνὴρ αὐτη̃ς τὸ πρωὶ καὶ ἤνοιξεν τὰς θύρας του̃ οἴκου καὶ ἐξη̃λθεν του̃ πορευθη̃ναι τὴν ὁδὸν αὐτου̃ καὶ ἰδοὺ ἡ γυνὴ ἡ παλλακὴ αὐτου̃ πεπτωκυι̃α παρὰ τὰς θύρας του̃ οἴκου καὶ αἱ χει̃ρες αὐτη̃ς ἐπὶ τὸ πρόθυρον (Ⅲ)

- Mane facto, surrexit homo, et aperuit ostium, ut cœptam expleret viam : et ecce concubina ejus jacebat ante ostium sparsis in limine manibus. (Ⅳ)

- ‫ 27 ׃19 ויקם אדניה בבקר ויפתח דלתות הבית ויצא ללכת לדרכו והנה האשה פילגשו נפלת פתח הבית וידיה על הסף ‬ (Ⅴ)

19. 28

And he said unto her, Up, and let us be going. But none answered. Then the man took her up upon an ass, and the man rose up, and gat him unto his place.

- Il lui dit: Lève-toi, et allons-nous-en. Elle ne répondit pas. Alors le mari la mit sur un âne, et partit pour aller dans sa demeure. (Ⅱ)

- καὶ εἰ̃πεν πρὸς αὐτήν ἀνάστα καὶ ἀπέλθωμεν καὶ οὐκ ἀπεκρίθη ὅτι ἠ̃ν νεκρά καὶ ἔλαβεν αὐτὴν ἐπὶ τὸν ὄνον καὶ ἐπορεύθη εἰς τὸν τόπον αὐτου̃ (Ⅲ)

- Cui ille, putans eam quiescere, loquebatur : Surge, et ambulemus. Qua nihil respondente, intelligens quod erat mortua, tulit eam, et imposuit asino, reversusque est in domum suam. (Ⅳ)

- ‫ 28 ׃19 ויאמר אליה קומי ונלכה ואין ענה ויקחה על החמור ויקם האיש וילך למקמו ‬ (Ⅴ)

19. 29

And when he was come into his house, he took a knife, and laid hold on his concubine, and divided her, together with her bones, into twelve pieces, and sent her into all the coasts of Israel.

- Arrivé chez lui, il prit un couteau, saisit sa concubine, et la coupa membre par membre en douze morceaux, qu'il envoya dans tout le territoire d'Israël. (Ⅱ)

- καὶ ἔλαβεν τὴν ῥομφαίαν καὶ ἐκράτησεν τὴν παλλακὴν αὐτου̃ καὶ ἐμέλισεν αὐτὴν εἰς δώδεκα μέλη καὶ ἀπέστειλεν αὐτὰ ἐν παντὶ ὁρίω̨ Ισραηλ (Ⅲ)

- Quam cum esset ingressus, arripuit gladium, et cadaver uxoris cum ossibus suis in duodecim partes ac frustra concidens, misit in omnes terminos Israël. (Ⅳ)

- ‫ 29 ׃19 ויבא אל ביתו ויקח את המאכלת ויחזק בפילגשו וינתחה לעצמיה לשנים עשר נתחים וישלחה בכל גבול ישראל ‬ (Ⅴ)

19. 30

And it was so, that all that saw it said, There was no such deed done nor seen from the day that the children of Israel came up out of the land of Egypt unto this day: consider of it, take advice, and speak your minds.

- Tous ceux qui virent cela dirent: Jamais rien de pareil n'est arrivé et ne s'est vu depuis que les enfants d'Israël sont montés du pays d'Égypte jusqu'à ce jour; prenez la chose à coeur, consultez-vous, et parlez! (Ⅱ)

- καὶ ἐγένετο πα̃ς ὁ βλέπων ἔλεγεν οὐκ ἐγένετο καὶ οὐχ ἑόραται ὡς αὕτη ἀπὸ ἡμέρας ἀναβάσεως υἱω̃ν Ισραηλ ἐκ γη̃ς Αἰγύπτου καὶ ἕως τη̃ς ἡμέρας ταύτης θέσθε ὑμι̃ν αὐτοὶ ἐπ' αὐτὴν βουλὴν καὶ λαλήσατε (Ⅲ)

- Quod cum vidissent singuli, conclamabant : Numquam res talis facta est in Israël, ex eo die quo ascenderunt patres nostri de Ægypto usque in præsens tempus : ferte sententiam, et in commune decernite quid facto opus sit. (Ⅳ)

- ‫ 30 ׃19 והיה כל הראה ואמר לא נהיתה ולא נראתה כזאת למיום עלות בני ישראל מארץ מצרים עד היום הזה שימו לכם עליה עצו ודברו פ‬ (Ⅴ)
