11. 1

And when Athaliah the mother of Ahaziah saw that her son was dead, she arose and destroyed all the seed royal.

- Athalie, mère d'Achazia, voyant que son fils était mort, se leva et fit périr toute la race royale. (Ⅱ)

- καὶ Γοθολια ἡ μήτηρ Οχοζιου εἰ̃δεν ὅτι ἀπέθανον οἱ υἱοὶ αὐτη̃ς καὶ ἀπώλεσεν πα̃ν τὸ σπέρμα τη̃ς βασιλείας (Ⅲ)

- Athalia vero mater Ochoziæ, videns mortuum filium suum, surrexit, et interfecit omne semen regium. (Ⅳ)

- ‫ 1 ׃11 ועתליה אם אחזיהו *וראתה **ראתה כי מת בנה ותקם ותאבד את כל זרע הממלכה ‬ (Ⅴ)

11. 2

But Jehosheba, the daughter of king Joram, sister of Ahaziah, took Joash the son of Ahaziah, and stole him from among the king's sons which were slain; and they hid him, even him and his nurse, in the bedchamber from Athaliah, so that he was not slain.

- Mais Joschéba, fille du roi Joram, soeur d'Achazia, prit Joas, fils d'Achazia, et l'enleva du milieu des fils du roi, quand on les fit mourir: elle le mit avec sa nourrice dans la chambre des lits. Il fut ainsi dérobé aux regards d'Athalie, et ne fut point mis à mort. (Ⅱ)

- καὶ ἔλαβεν Ιωσαβεε θυγάτηρ του̃ βασιλέως Ιωραμ ἀδελφὴ Οχοζιου τὸν Ιωας υἱὸν ἀδελφου̃ αὐτη̃ς καὶ ἔκλεψεν αὐτὸν ἐκ μέσου τω̃ν υἱω̃ν του̃ βασιλέως τω̃ν θανατουμένων αὐτὸν καὶ τὴν τροφὸν αὐτου̃ ἐν τω̨̃ ταμιείω̨ τω̃ν κλινω̃ν καὶ ἔκρυψεν αὐτὸν ἀπὸ προσώπου Γοθολιας καὶ οὐκ ἐθανατώθη (Ⅲ)

- Tollens autem Josaba filia regis Joram, soror Ochoziæ, Joas filium Ochoziæ, furata est eum de medio filiorum regis qui interficiebantur, et nutricem ejus de triclinio : et abscondit eum a facie Athaliæ ut non interficeretur. (Ⅳ)

- ‫ 2 ׃11 ותקח יהושבע בת המלך יורם אחות אחזיהו את יואש בן אחזיה ותגנב אתו מתוך בני המלך *הממותתים **המומתים אתו ואת מינקתו בחדר המטות ויסתרו אתו מפני עתליהו ולא הומת ‬ (Ⅴ)

11. 3

And he was with her hid in the house of the LORD six years. And Athaliah did reign over the land.

- Il resta six ans caché avec Joschéba dans la maison de l'Éternel. Et c'était Athalie qui régnait dans le pays. (Ⅱ)

- καὶ ἠ̃ν μετ' αὐτη̃ς ἐν οἴκω̨ κυρίου κρυβόμενος ἓξ ἔτη καὶ Γοθολια βασιλεύουσα ἐπὶ τη̃ς γη̃ς (Ⅲ)

- Eratque cum ea sex annis clam in domo Domini : porro Athalia regnavit super terram.\ (Ⅳ)

- ‫ 3 ׃11 ויהי אתה בית יהוה מתחבא שש שנים ועתליה מלכת על הארץ פ‬ (Ⅴ)

11. 4

And the seventh year Jehoiada sent and fetched the rulers over hundreds, with the captains and the guard, and brought them to him into the house of the LORD, and made a covenant with them, and took an oath of them in the house of the LORD, and showed them the king's son.

- La septième année, Jehojada envoya chercher les chefs de centaines des Kéréthiens et des coureurs, et il les fit venir auprès de lui dans la maison de l'Éternel. Il traita alliance avec eux et les fit jurer dans la maison de l'Éternel, et il leur montra le fils du roi. (Ⅱ)

- καὶ ἐν τω̨̃ ἔτει τω̨̃ ἑβδόμω̨ ἀπέστειλεν Ιωδαε ὁ ἱερεὺς καὶ ἔλαβεν τοὺς ἑκατοντάρχους τὸν Χορρι καὶ τὸν Ρασιμ καὶ ἀπήγαγεν αὐτοὺς πρὸς αὐτὸν εἰς οἰ̃κον κυρίου καὶ διέθετο αὐτοι̃ς διαθήκην κυρίου καὶ ὥρκισεν αὐτοὺς ἐνώπιον κυρίου καὶ ἔδειξεν αὐτοι̃ς Ιωδαε τὸν υἱὸν του̃ βασιλέως (Ⅲ)

- Anno autem septimo misit Jojada, et assumens centuriones et milites, introduxit ad se in templum Domini, pepigitque cum eis fœdus : et adjurans eos in domo Domini, ostendit eis filium regis : (Ⅳ)

- ‫ 4 ׃11 ובשנה השביעית שלח יהוידע ויקח את שרי *המאיות **המאות לכרי ולרצים ויבא אתם אליו בית יהוה ויכרת להם ברית וישבע אתם בבית יהוה וירא אתם את בן המלך ‬ (Ⅴ)

11. 5

And he commanded them, saying, This is the thing that ye shall do; A third part of you that enter in on the sabbath shall even be keepers of the watch of the king's house;

- Puis il leur donna ses ordres, en disant: Voici ce que vous ferez. Parmi ceux de vous qui entrent en service le jour du sabbat, un tiers doit monter la garde à la maison du roi, (Ⅱ)

- καὶ ἐνετείλατο αὐτοι̃ς λέγων οὑ̃τος ὁ λόγος ὃν ποιήσετε τὸ τρίτον ἐξ ὑμω̃ν εἰσελθέτω τὸ σάββατον καὶ φυλάξετε φυλακὴν οἴκου του̃ βασιλέως ἐν τω̨̃ πυλω̃νι (Ⅲ)

- et præcepit illis, dicens : Iste est sermo, quem facere debetis : (Ⅳ)

- ‫ 5 ׃11 ויצום לאמר זה הדבר אשר תעשון השלשית מכם באי השבת ושמרי משמרת בית המלך ‬ (Ⅴ)

11. 6

And a third part shall be at the gate of Sur; and a third part at the gate behind the guard: so shall ye keep the watch of the house, that it be not broken down.

- un tiers à la porte de Sur, et un tiers à la porte derrière les coureurs: vous veillerez à la garde de la maison, de manière à en empêcher l'entrée. (Ⅱ)

- καὶ τὸ τρίτον ἐν τη̨̃ πύλη̨ τω̃ν ὁδω̃ν καὶ τὸ τρίτον τη̃ς πύλης ὀπίσω τω̃ν παρατρεχόντων καὶ φυλάξετε τὴν φυλακὴν του̃ οἴκου (Ⅲ)

- tertia pars vestrum introëat sabbato, et observet excubias domus regis. Tertia autem pars sit ad portam Sur, et tertia pars sit ad portam quæ est post habitaculum scutariorum : et custodietis excubias domus Messa. (Ⅳ)

- ‫ 6 ׃11 והשלשית בשער סור והשלשית בשער אחר הרצים ושמרתם את משמרת הבית מסח ‬ (Ⅴ)

11. 7

And two parts of all you that go forth on the sabbath, even they shall keep the watch of the house of the LORD about the king.

- Vos deux autres divisions, tous ceux qui sortent de service le jour du sabbat feront la garde de la maison de l'Éternel auprès du roi: (Ⅱ)

- καὶ δύο χει̃ρες ἐν ὑμι̃ν πα̃ς ὁ ἐκπορευόμενος τὸ σάββατον καὶ φυλάξουσιν τὴν φυλακὴν οἴκου κυρίου πρὸς τὸν βασιλέα (Ⅲ)

- Duæ vero partes e vobis, omnes egredientes sabbato, custodiant excubias domus Domini circa regem. (Ⅳ)

- ‫ 7 ׃11 ושתי הידות בכם כל יצאי השבת ושמרו את משמרת בית יהוה אל המלך ‬ (Ⅴ)

11. 8

And ye shall compass the king round about, every man with his weapons in his hand: and he that cometh within the ranges, let him be slain: and be ye with the king as he goeth out and as he cometh in.

- vous entourerez le roi de toutes parts, chacun les armes à la main, et l'on donnera la mort à quiconque s'avancera dans les rangs; vous serez près du roi quand il sortira et quand il entrera. (Ⅱ)

- καὶ κυκλώσατε ἐπὶ τὸν βασιλέα κύκλω̨ ἀνὴρ καὶ τὸ σκευ̃ος αὐτου̃ ἐν χειρὶ αὐτου̃ καὶ ὁ εἰσπορευόμενος εἰς τὰ σαδηρωθ ἀποθανει̃ται καὶ ἐγένετο μετὰ του̃ βασιλέως ἐν τω̨̃ ἐκπορεύεσθαι αὐτὸν καὶ ἐν τω̨̃ εἰσπορεύεσθαι αὐτόν (Ⅲ)

- Et vallabitis eum, habentes arma in manibus vestris : si quis autem ingressus fuerit septum templi, interficiatur : eritisque cum rege introëunte et egrediente. (Ⅳ)

- ‫ 8 ׃11 והקפתם על המלך סביב איש וכליו בידו והבא אל השדרות יומת והיו את המלך בצאתו ובבאו ‬ (Ⅴ)

11. 9

And the captains over the hundreds did according to all things that Jehoiada the priest commanded: and they took every man his men that were to come in on the sabbath, with them that should go out on the sabbath, and came to Jehoiada the priest.

- Les chefs de centaines exécutèrent tous les ordres qu'avait donnés le sacrificateur Jehojada. Ils prirent chacun leurs gens, ceux qui entraient en service et ceux qui sortaient de service le jour du sabbat, et ils se rendirent vers le sacrificateur Jehojada. (Ⅱ)

- καὶ ἐποίησαν οἱ ἑκατόνταρχοι πάντα ὅσα ἐνετείλατο Ιωδαε ὁ συνετός καὶ ἔλαβεν ἀνὴρ τοὺς ἄνδρας αὐτου̃ τοὺς εἰσπορευομένους τὸ σάββατον μετὰ τω̃ν ἐκπορευομένων τὸ σάββατον καὶ εἰση̃λθεν πρὸς Ιωδαε τὸν ἱερέα (Ⅲ)

- Et fecerunt centuriones juxta omnia quæ præceperat eis Jojada sacerdos : et assumentes singuli viros suos qui ingrediebantur sabbatum, cum his qui egrediebantur sabbato, venerunt ad Jojadam sacerdotem. (Ⅳ)

- ‫ 9 ׃11 ויעשו שרי *המאיות **המאות ככל אשר צוה יהוידע הכהן ויקחו איש את אנשיו באי השבת עם יצאי השבת ויבאו אל יהוידע הכהן ‬ (Ⅴ)

11. 10

And to the captains over hundreds did the priest give king David's spears and shields, that were in the temple of the LORD.

- Le sacrificateur remit aux chefs de centaines les lances et les boucliers qui provenaient du roi David, et qui se trouvaient dans la maison de l'Éternel. (Ⅱ)

- καὶ ἔδωκεν ὁ ἱερεὺς τοι̃ς ἑκατοντάρχαις τοὺς σειρομάστας καὶ τοὺς τρισσοὺς του̃ βασιλέως Δαυιδ τοὺς ἐν οἴκω̨ κυρίου (Ⅲ)

- Qui dedit eis hastas et arma regis David, quæ erant in domo Domini. (Ⅳ)

- ‫ 10 ׃11 ויתן הכהן לשרי *המאיות **המאות את החנית ואת השלטים אשר למלך דוד אשר בבית יהוה ‬ (Ⅴ)

11. 11

And the guard stood, every man with his weapons in his hand, round about the king, from the right corner of the temple to the left corner of the temple, along by the altar and the temple.

- Les coureurs, chacun les armes à la main, entourèrent le roi, en se plaçant depuis le côté droit jusqu'au côté gauche de la maison, près de l'autel et près de la maison. (Ⅱ)

- καὶ ἔστησαν οἱ παρατρέχοντες ἀνὴρ καὶ τὸ σκευ̃ος αὐτου̃ ἐν τη̨̃ χειρὶ αὐτου̃ ἀπὸ τη̃ς ὠμίας του̃ οἴκου τη̃ς δεξια̃ς ἕως τη̃ς ὠμίας του̃ οἴκου τη̃ς εὐωνύμου του̃ θυσιαστηρίου καὶ του̃ οἴκου ἐπὶ τὸν βασιλέα κύκλω̨ (Ⅲ)

- Et steterunt singuli habentes arma in manu sua, a parte templi dextera usque ad partem sinistram altaris et ædis, circum regem. (Ⅳ)

- ‫ 11 ׃11 ויעמדו הרצים איש וכליו בידו מכתף הבית הימנית עד כתף הבית השמאלית למזבח ולבית על המלך סביב ‬ (Ⅴ)

11. 12

And he brought forth the king's son, and put the crown upon him, and gave him the testimony; and they made him king, and anointed him; and they clapped their hands, and said, God save the king.

- Le sacrificateur fit avancer le fils du roi, et il mit sur lui le diadème et le témoignage. Ils l'établirent roi et l'oignirent, et frappant des mains, ils dirent: Vive le roi! (Ⅱ)

- καὶ ἐξαπέστειλεν τὸν υἱὸν του̃ βασιλέως καὶ ἔδωκεν ἐπ' αὐτὸν τὸ νεζερ καὶ τὸ μαρτύριον καὶ ἐβασίλευσεν αὐτὸν καὶ ἔχρισεν αὐτόν καὶ ἐκρότησαν τη̨̃ χειρὶ καὶ εἰ̃παν ζήτω ὁ βασιλεύς (Ⅲ)

- Produxitque filium regis, et posuit super eum diadema et testimonium : feceruntque eum regem, et unxerunt : et plaudentes manu, dixerunt : Vivat rex. (Ⅳ)

- ‫ 12 ׃11 ויוצא את בן המלך ויתן עליו את הנזר ואת העדות וימלכו אתו וימשחהו ויכו כף ויאמרו יחי המלך ס‬ (Ⅴ)

11. 13

And when Athaliah heard the noise of the guard and of the people, she came to the people into the temple of the LORD.

- Athalie entendit le bruit des coureurs et du peuple, et elle vint vers le peuple à la maison de l'Éternel. (Ⅱ)

- καὶ ἤκουσεν Γοθολια τὴν φωνὴν τω̃ν τρεχόντων του̃ λαου̃ καὶ εἰση̃λθεν πρὸς τὸν λαὸν εἰς οἰ̃κον κυρίου (Ⅲ)

- Audivit autem Athalia vocem populi currentis : et ingressa ad turbas in templum Domini, (Ⅳ)

- ‫ 13 ׃11 ותשמע עתליה את קול הרצין העם ותבא אל העם בית יהוה ‬ (Ⅴ)

11. 14

And when she looked, behold, the king stood by a pillar, as the manner was, and the princes and the trumpeters by the king, and all the people of the land rejoiced, and blew with trumpets: and Athaliah rent her clothes, and cried, Treason, Treason.

- Elle regarda. Et voici, le roi se tenait sur l'estrade, selon l'usage; les chefs et les trompettes étaient près du roi: tout le peuple du pays était dans la joie, et l'on sonnait des trompettes. Athalie déchira ses vêtements, et cria: Conspiration! conspiration! (Ⅱ)

- καὶ εἰ̃δεν καὶ ἰδοὺ ὁ βασιλεὺς εἱστήκει ἐπὶ του̃ στύλου κατὰ τὸ κρίμα καὶ οἱ ὠ̨δοὶ καὶ αἱ σάλπιγγες πρὸς τὸν βασιλέα καὶ πα̃ς ὁ λαὸς τη̃ς γη̃ς χαίρων καὶ σαλπίζων ἐν σάλπιγξιν καὶ διέρρηξεν Γοθολια τὰ ἱμάτια ἑαυτη̃ς καὶ ἐβόησεν σύνδεσμος σύνδεσμος (Ⅲ)

- vidit regem stantem super tribunal juxta morem, et cantores, et tubas prope eum, omnemque populum terræ lætantem, et canentem tubis : et scidit vestimenta sua, clamavitque : Conjuratio, conjuratio. (Ⅳ)

- ‫ 14 ׃11 ותרא והנה המלך עמד על העמוד כמשפט והשרים והחצצרות אל המלך וכל עם הארץ שמח ותקע בחצצרות ותקרע עתליה את בגדיה ותקרא קשר קשר ס‬ (Ⅴ)

11. 15

But Jehoiada the priest commanded the captains of the hundreds, the officers of the host, and said unto them, Have her forth without the ranges: and him that followeth her kill with the sword. For the priest had said, Let her not be slain in the house of the LORD.

- Alors le sacrificateur Jehojada donna cet ordre aux chefs de centaines, qui étaient à la tête de l'armée: Faites-la sortir en dehors des rangs, et tuez par l'épée quiconque la suivra. Car le sacrificateur avait dit: Qu'elle ne soit pas mise à mort dans la maison de l'Éternel! (Ⅱ)

- καὶ ἐνετείλατο Ιωδαε ὁ ἱερεὺς τοι̃ς ἑκατοντάρχαις τοι̃ς ἐπισκόποις τη̃ς δυνάμεως καὶ εἰ̃πεν πρὸς αὐτούς ἐξαγάγετε αὐτὴν ἔσωθεν τω̃ν σαδηρωθ καὶ ὁ εἰσπορευόμενος ὀπίσω αὐτη̃ς θανάτω̨ θανατωθήσεται ῥομφαία̨ ὅτι εἰ̃πεν ὁ ἱερεύς καὶ μὴ ἀποθάνη̨ ἐν οἴκω̨ κυρίου (Ⅲ)

- Præcepit autem Jojada centurionibus qui erant super exercitum, et ait eis : Educite eam extra septa templi, et quicumque eam secutus fuerit, feriatur gladio. Dixerat enim sacerdos : Non occidatur in templo Domini. (Ⅳ)

- ‫ 15 ׃11 ויצו יהוידע הכהן את שרי *המיאות **המאות פקדי החיל ויאמר אליהם הוציאו אתה אל מבית לשדרת והבא אחריה המת בחרב כי אמר הכהן אל תומת בית יהוה ‬ (Ⅴ)

11. 16

And they laid hands on her; and she went by the way by the which the horses came into the king's house: and there was she slain.

- On lui fit place, et elle se rendit à la maison du roi par le chemin de l'entrée des chevaux: c'est là qu'elle fut tuée. (Ⅱ)

- καὶ ἐπέθηκαν αὐτη̨̃ χει̃ρας καὶ εἰση̃λθεν ὁδὸν εἰσόδου τω̃ν ἵππων οἴκου του̃ βασιλέως καὶ ἀπέθανεν ἐκει̃ (Ⅲ)

- Imposueruntque ei manus, et impegerunt eam per viam introitus equorum, juxta palatium, et interfecta est ibi. (Ⅳ)

- ‫ 16 ׃11 וישמו לה ידים ותבוא דרך מבוא הסוסים בית המלך ותומת שם ס‬ (Ⅴ)

11. 17

And Jehoiada made a covenant between the LORD and the king and the people, that they should be the LORD's people; between the king also and the people.

- Jehojada traita entre l'Éternel, le roi et le peuple, l'alliance par laquelle ils devaient être le peuple de l'Éternel; il établit aussi l'alliance entre le roi et le peuple. (Ⅱ)

- καὶ διέθετο Ιωδαε διαθήκην ἀνὰ μέσον κυρίου καὶ ἀνὰ μέσον του̃ βασιλέως καὶ ἀνὰ μέσον του̃ λαου̃ του̃ εἰ̃ναι εἰς λαὸν τω̨̃ κυρίω̨ καὶ ἀνὰ μέσον του̃ βασιλέως καὶ ἀνὰ μέσον του̃ λαου̃ (Ⅲ)

- Pepigit ergo Jojada fœdus inter Dominum, et inter regem, et inter populum, ut esset populus Domini : et inter regem et populum. (Ⅳ)

- ‫ 17 ׃11 ויכרת יהוידע את הברית בין יהוה ובין המלך ובין העם להיות לעם ליהוה ובין המלך ובין העם ‬ (Ⅴ)

11. 18

And all the people of the land went into the house of Baal, and brake it down; his altars and his images brake they in pieces thoroughly, and slew Mattan the priest of Baal before the altars. And the priest appointed officers over the house of the LORD.

- Tout le peuple du pays entra dans la maison de Baal, et ils la démolirent; ils brisèrent entièrement ses autels et ses images, et ils tuèrent devant les autels Matthan, prêtre de Baal. Le sacrificateur Jehojada mit des surveillants dans la maison de l'Éternel. (Ⅱ)

- καὶ εἰση̃λθεν πα̃ς ὁ λαὸς τη̃ς γη̃ς εἰς οἰ̃κον του̃ Βααλ καὶ κατέσπασαν αὐτὸν καὶ τὰ θυσιαστήρια αὐτου̃ καὶ τὰς εἰκόνας αὐτου̃ συνέτριψαν ἀγαθω̃ς καὶ τὸν Ματθαν τὸν ἱερέα του̃ Βααλ ἀπέκτειναν κατὰ πρόσωπον τω̃ν θυσιαστηρίων καὶ ἔθηκεν ὁ ἱερεὺς ἐπισκόπους εἰς τὸν οἰ̃κον κυρίου (Ⅲ)

- Ingressusque est omnis populus terræ templum Baal, et destruxerunt aras ejus, et imagines contriverunt valide : Mathan quoque sacerdotem Baal occiderunt coram altari. Et posuit sacerdos custodias in domo Domini. (Ⅳ)

- ‫ 18 ׃11 ויבאו כל עם הארץ בית הבעל ויתצהו את *מזבחתו **מזבחתיו ואת צלמיו שברו היטב ואת מתן כהן הבעל הרגו לפני המזבחות וישם הכהן פקדות על בית יהוה ‬ (Ⅴ)

11. 19

And he took the rulers over hundreds, and the captains, and the guard, and all the people of the land; and they brought down the king from the house of the LORD, and came by the way of the gate of the guard to the king's house. And he sat on the throne of the kings.

- Il prit les chefs de centaines, les Kéréthiens et les coureurs, et tout le peuple du pays; et ils firent descendre le roi de la maison de l'Éternel, et ils entrèrent dans la maison du roi par le chemin de la porte des coureurs. Et Joas s'assit sur le trône des rois. (Ⅱ)

- καὶ ἔλαβεν τοὺς ἑκατοντάρχους καὶ τὸν Χορρι καὶ τὸν Ρασιμ καὶ πάντα τὸν λαὸν τη̃ς γη̃ς καὶ κατήγαγον τὸν βασιλέα ἐξ οἴκου κυρίου καὶ εἰση̃λθεν ὁδὸν πύλης τω̃ν παρατρεχόντων οἴκου του̃ βασιλέως καὶ ἐκάθισαν αὐτὸν ἐπὶ του̃ θρόνου τω̃ν βασιλέων (Ⅲ)

- Tulitque centuriones, et Cerethi et Phelethi legiones, et omnem populum terræ, deduxeruntque regem de domo Domini : et venerunt per viam portæ scutariorum in palatium, et sedit super thronum regum. (Ⅳ)

- ‫ 19 ׃11 ויקח את שרי המאות ואת הכרי ואת הרצים ואת כל עם הארץ וירידו את המלך מבית יהוה ויבואו דרך שער‪[1]‬ הרצים בית המלך וישב על כסא המלכים ‬ (Ⅴ)

11. 20

And all the people of the land rejoiced, and the city was in quiet: and they slew Athaliah with the sword beside the king's house.

- Tout le peuple du pays se réjouissait, et la ville était tranquille. On avait fait mourir Athalie par l'épée dans la maison du roi. (Ⅱ)

- καὶ ἐχάρη πα̃ς ὁ λαὸς τη̃ς γη̃ς καὶ ἡ πόλις ἡσύχασεν καὶ τὴν Γοθολιαν ἐθανάτωσαν ἐν ῥομφαία̨ ἐν οἴκω̨ του̃ βασιλέως (Ⅲ)

- Lætatusque est omnis populus terræ, et civitas conquievit : Athalia autem occisa est gladio in domo regis. (Ⅳ)

- ‫ 20 ׃11 וישמח כל עם הארץ והעיר שקטה ואת עתליהו המיתו בחרב בית *מלך **המלך ס‬ (Ⅴ)

11. 21

Seven years old was Jehoash when he began to reign.
