12. 1

These are the statutes and judgments, which ye shall observe to do in the land, which the LORD God of thy fathers giveth thee to possess it, all the days that ye live upon the earth.

- Voici les lois et les ordonnances que vous observerez et que vous mettrez en pratique, aussi longtemps que vous y vivrez, dans le pays dont l'Éternel, le Dieu de vos pères, vous donne la possession. (Ⅱ)

- καὶ ταυ̃τα τὰ προστάγματα καὶ αἱ κρίσεις ἃς φυλάξετε του̃ ποιει̃ν ἐπὶ τη̃ς γη̃ς ἡ̃ς κύριος ὁ θεὸς τω̃ν πατέρων ὑμω̃ν δίδωσιν ὑμι̃ν ἐν κλήρω̨ πάσας τὰς ἡμέρας ἃς ὑμει̃ς ζη̃τε ἐπὶ τη̃ς γη̃ς (Ⅲ)

- Hæc sunt præcepta atque judicia, quæ facere debetis in terra, quam Dominus Deus patrum tuorum daturus est tibi, ut possideas eam cunctis diebus, quibus super humum gradieris. (Ⅳ)

- ‫ 1 ׃12 אלה החקים והמשפטים אשר תשמרון לעשות בארץ אשר נתן יהוה אלהי אבתיך לך לרשתה כל הימים אשר אתם חיים על האדמה ‬ (Ⅴ)

12. 2

Ye shall utterly destroy all the places, wherein the nations which ye shall possess served their gods, upon the high mountains, and upon the hills, and under every green tree:

- Vous détruirez tous les lieux où les nations que vous allez chasser servent leurs dieux, sur les hautes montagnes, sur les collines, et sous tout arbre vert. (Ⅱ)

- ἀπωλεία̨ ἀπολει̃τε πάντας τοὺς τόπους ἐν οἱ̃ς ἐλάτρευσαν ἐκει̃ τοι̃ς θεοι̃ς αὐτω̃ν οὓς ὑμει̃ς κληρονομει̃τε αὐτούς ἐπὶ τω̃ν ὀρέων τω̃ν ὑψηλω̃ν καὶ ἐπὶ τω̃ν θινω̃ν καὶ ὑποκάτω δένδρου δασέος (Ⅲ)

- Subvertite omnia loca, in quibus coluerunt gentes, quas possessuri estis, deos suos super montes excelsos, et colles, et subter omne lignum frondosum. (Ⅳ)

- ‫ 2 ׃12 אבד תאבדון את כל המקמות אשר עבדו שם הגוים אשר אתם ירשים אתם את אלהיהם על ההרים הרמים ועל הגבעות ותחת כל עץ רענן‪[U]‬ ‬ (Ⅴ)

12. 3

And ye shall overthrow their altars, and break their pillars, and burn their groves with fire; and ye shall hew down the graven images of their gods, and destroy the names of them out of that place.

- Vous renverserez leurs autels, vous briserez leurs statues, vous brûlerez au feu leurs idoles, vous abattrez les images taillées de leurs dieux, et vous ferez disparaître leurs noms de ces lieux-là. (Ⅱ)

- καὶ κατασκάψετε τοὺς βωμοὺς αὐτω̃ν καὶ συντρίψετε τὰς στήλας αὐτω̃ν καὶ τὰ ἄλση αὐτω̃ν ἐκκόψετε καὶ τὰ γλυπτὰ τω̃ν θεω̃ν αὐτω̃ν κατακαύσετε πυρί καὶ ἀπολει̃ται τὸ ὄνομα αὐτω̃ν ἐκ του̃ τόπου ἐκείνου (Ⅲ)

- Dissipate aras eorum, et confringite statuas : lucos igne comburite, et idola comminuite : disperdite nomina eorum de locis illis. (Ⅳ)

- ‫ 3 ׃12 ונתצתם את מזבחתם‪[U]‬ ושברתם את מצבתם ואשריהם תשרפון באש ופסילי אלהיהם תגדעון ואבדתם את שמם מן המקום ההוא ‬ (Ⅴ)

12. 4

Ye shall not do so unto the LORD your God.

- Vous n'agirez pas ainsi à l'égard de l'Éternel, votre Dieu. (Ⅱ)

- οὐ ποιήσετε οὕτως κυρίω̨ τω̨̃ θεω̨̃ ὑμω̃ν (Ⅲ)

- Non facietis ita Domino Deo vestro : (Ⅳ)

- ‫ 4 ׃12 לא תעשון כן ליהוה אלהיכם ‬ (Ⅴ)

12. 5

But unto the place which the LORD your God shall choose out of all your tribes to put his name there, even unto his habitation shall ye seek, and thither thou shalt come:

- Mais vous le chercherez à sa demeure, et vous irez au lieu que l'Éternel, votre Dieu, choisira parmi toutes vos tribus pour y placer son nom. (Ⅱ)

- ἀλλ' ἢ εἰς τὸν τόπον ὃν ἂν ἐκλέξηται κύριος ὁ θεὸς ὑμω̃ν ἐν μια̨̃ τω̃ν φυλω̃ν ὑμω̃ν ἐπονομάσαι τὸ ὄνομα αὐτου̃ ἐκει̃ ἐπικληθη̃ναι καὶ ἐκζητήσετε καὶ εἰσελεύσεσθε ἐκει̃ (Ⅲ)

- sed ad locum, quem elegerit Dominus Deus vester de cunctis tribubus vestris, ut ponat nomen suum ibi, et habitet in eo, venietis : (Ⅳ)

- ‫ 5 ׃12 כי אם אל המקום אשר יבחר יהוה אלהיכם מכל שבטיכם לשום את שמו שם לשכנו תדרשו ובאת שמה ‬ (Ⅴ)

12. 6

And thither ye shall bring your burnt offerings, and your sacrifices, and your tithes, and heave offerings of your hand, and your vows, and your freewill offerings, and the firstlings of your herds and of your flocks:

- C'est là que vous présenterez vos holocaustes, vos sacrifices, vos dîmes, vos prémices, vos offrandes en accomplissement d'un voeu, vos offrandes volontaires, et les premiers-nés de votre gros et de votre menu bétail. (Ⅱ)

- καὶ οἴσετε ἐκει̃ τὰ ὁλοκαυτώματα ὑμω̃ν καὶ τὰ θυσιάσματα ὑμω̃ν καὶ τὰς ἀπαρχὰς ὑμω̃ν καὶ τὰς εὐχὰς ὑμω̃ν καὶ τὰ ἑκούσια ὑμω̃ν καὶ τὰ πρωτότοκα τω̃ν βοω̃ν ὑμω̃ν καὶ τω̃ν προβάτων ὑμω̃ν (Ⅲ)

- et offeretis in loco illo holocausta et victimas vestras, decimas et primitias manuum vestrarum, et vota atque donaria, primogenita boum et ovium. (Ⅳ)

- ‫ 6 ׃12 והבאתם שמה עלתיכם וזבחיכם ואת מעשרתיכם ואת תרומת ידכם ונדריכם ונדבתיכם ובכרת בקרכם וצאנכם ‬ (Ⅴ)

12. 7

And there ye shall eat before the LORD your God, and ye shall rejoice in all that ye put your hand unto, ye and your households, wherein the LORD thy God hath blessed thee.

- C'est là que vous mangerez devant l'Éternel, votre Dieu, et que, vous et vos familles, vous ferez servir à votre joie tous les biens par lesquels l'Éternel, votre Dieu, vous aura bénis. (Ⅱ)

- καὶ φάγεσθε ἐκει̃ ἐναντίον κυρίου του̃ θεου̃ ὑμω̃ν καὶ εὐφρανθήσεσθε ἐπὶ πα̃σιν οὑ̃ ἂν τὴν χει̃ρα ἐπιβάλητε ὑμει̃ς καὶ οἱ οἰ̃κοι ὑμω̃ν καθότι εὐλόγησέν σε κύριος ὁ θεός σου (Ⅲ)

- Et comedetis ibi in conspectu Domini Dei vestri : ac lætabimini in cunctis, ad quæ miseritis manum vos et domus vestræ, in quibus benedixerit vobis Dominus Deus vester. (Ⅳ)

- ‫ 7 ׃12 ואכלתם שם לפני יהוה אלהיכם ושמחתם בכל משלח ידכם אתם ובתיכם אשר ברכך יהוה אלהיך ‬ (Ⅴ)

12. 8

Ye shall not do after all the things that we do here this day, every man whatsoever is right in his own eyes.

- Vous n'agirez donc pas comme nous le faisons maintenant ici, où chacun fait ce qui lui semble bon, (Ⅱ)

- οὐ ποιήσετε πάντα ἃ ἡμει̃ς ποιου̃μεν ὡ̃δε σήμερον ἕκαστος τὸ ἀρεστὸν ἐνώπιον αὐτου̃ (Ⅲ)

- Non facietis ibi quæ nos hic facimus hodie, singuli quod sibi rectum videtur : (Ⅳ)

- ‫ 8 ׃12 לא תעשון ככל אשר אנחנו עשים פה היום איש כל הישר בעיניו ‬ (Ⅴ)

12. 9

For ye are not as yet come to the rest and to the inheritance, which the LORD your God giveth you.

- parce que vous n'êtes point encore arrivés dans le lieu de repos et dans l'héritage que l'Éternel, votre Dieu, vous donne. (Ⅱ)

- οὐ γὰρ ἥκατε ἕως του̃ νυ̃ν εἰς τὴν κατάπαυσιν καὶ εἰς τὴν κληρονομίαν ἣν κύριος ὁ θεὸς ὑμω̃ν δίδωσιν ὑμι̃ν (Ⅲ)

- neque enim usque in præsens tempus venistis ad requiem, et possessionem, quam Dominus Deus vester daturus est vobis. (Ⅳ)

- ‫ 9 ׃12 כי לא באתם עד עתה אל המנוחה ואל הנחלה אשר יהוה אלהיך נתן לך ‬ (Ⅴ)

12. 10

But when ye go over Jordan, and dwell in the land which the LORD your God giveth you to inherit, and when he giveth you rest from all your enemies round about, so that ye dwell in safety;

- Mais vous passerez le Jourdain, et vous habiterez dans le pays dont l'Éternel, votre Dieu, vous mettra en possession; il vous donnera du repos, après vous avoir délivrés de tous vos ennemis qui vous entourent, et vous vous établirez en sécurité. (Ⅱ)

- καὶ διαβήσεσθε τὸν Ιορδάνην καὶ κατοικήσετε ἐπὶ τη̃ς γη̃ς ἡ̃ς κύριος ὁ θεὸς ὑμω̃ν κατακληρονομει̃ ὑμι̃ν καὶ καταπαύσει ὑμα̃ς ἀπὸ πάντων τω̃ν ἐχθρω̃ν ὑμω̃ν τω̃ν κύκλω̨ καὶ κατοικήσετε μετὰ ἀσφαλείας (Ⅲ)

- Transibitis Jordanem, et habitabitis in terra, quam Dominus Deus vester daturus est vobis, ut requiescatis a cunctis hostibus per circuitum : et absque ullo timore habitetis (Ⅳ)

- ‫ 10 ׃12 ועברתם את הירדן וישבתם בארץ אשר יהוה אלהיכם מנחיל אתכם והניח לכם מכל איביכם מסביב וישבתם בטח ‬ (Ⅴ)

12. 11

Then there shall be a place which the LORD your God shall choose to cause his name to dwell there; thither shall ye bring all that I command you; your burnt offerings, and your sacrifices, your tithes, and the heave offering of your hand, and all your choice vows which ye vow unto the LORD:

- Alors il y aura un lieu que l'Éternel, votre Dieu, choisira pour y faire résider son nom. C'est là que vous présenterez tout ce que je vous ordonne, vos holocaustes, vos sacrifices, vos dîmes, vos prémices, et les offrandes choisies que vous ferez à l'Éternel pour accomplir vos voeux. (Ⅱ)

- καὶ ἔσται ὁ τόπος ὃν ἂν ἐκλέξηται κύριος ὁ θεὸς ὑμω̃ν ἐπικληθη̃ναι τὸ ὄνομα αὐτου̃ ἐκει̃ ἐκει̃ οἴσετε πάντα ὅσα ἐγὼ ἐντέλλομαι ὑμι̃ν σήμερον τὰ ὁλοκαυτώματα ὑμω̃ν καὶ τὰ θυσιάσματα ὑμω̃ν καὶ τὰ ἐπιδέκατα ὑμω̃ν καὶ τὰς ἀπαρχὰς τω̃ν χειρω̃ν ὑμω̃ν καὶ τὰ δόματα ὑμω̃ν καὶ πα̃ν ἐκλεκτὸν τω̃ν δώρων ὑμω̃ν ὅσα ἐὰν εὔξησθε τω̨̃ θεω̨̃ ὑμω̃ν (Ⅲ)

- in loco, quem elegerit Dominus Deus vester, ut sit nomen ejus in eo : illuc omnia, quæ præcipio, conferetis, holocausta, et hostias, ac decimas, et primitias manuum vestrarum : et quidquid præcipuum est in muneribus, quæ vovebitis Domino. (Ⅳ)

- ‫ 11 ׃12 והיה המקום אשר יבחר יהוה אלהיכם בו לשכן שמו שם שמה תביאו את כל אשר אנכי מצוה אתכם עולתיכם וזבחיכם מעשרתיכם ותרמת ידכם וכל מבחר נדריכם אשר תדרו ליהוה ‬ (Ⅴ)

12. 12

And ye shall rejoice before the LORD your God, ye, and your sons, and your daughters, and your menservants, and your maidservants, and the Levite that is within your gates; forasmuch as he hath no part nor inheritance with you.

- C'est là que vous vous réjouirez devant l'Éternel, votre Dieu, vous, vos fils et vos filles, vos serviteurs et vos servantes, et le Lévite qui sera dans vos portes; car il n'a ni part ni héritage avec vous. (Ⅱ)

- καὶ εὐφρανθήσεσθε ἐναντίον κυρίου του̃ θεου̃ ὑμω̃ν ὑμει̃ς καὶ οἱ υἱοὶ ὑμω̃ν καὶ αἱ θυγατέρες ὑμω̃ν οἱ παι̃δες ὑμω̃ν καὶ αἱ παιδίσκαι ὑμω̃ν καὶ ὁ Λευίτης ὁ ἐπὶ τω̃ν πυλω̃ν ὑμω̃ν ὅτι οὐκ ἔστιν αὐτω̨̃ μερὶς οὐδὲ κλη̃ρος μεθ' ὑμω̃ν (Ⅲ)

- Ibi epulabimini coram Domino Deo vestro, vos et filii ac filiæ vestræ, famuli et famulæ, atque Levites qui in urbibus vestris commoratur : neque enim habet aliam partem et possessionem inter vos. (Ⅳ)

- ‫ 12 ׃12 ושמחתם לפני יהוה אלהיכם אתם ובניכם ובנתיכם ועבדיכם ואמהתיכם והלוי אשר בשעריכם כי אין לו חלק ונחלה אתכם ‬ (Ⅴ)

12. 13

Take heed to thyself that thou offer not thy burnt offerings in every place that thou seest:

- Garde-toi d'offrir tes holocaustes dans tous les lieux que tu verras; (Ⅱ)

- πρόσεχε σεαυτω̨̃ μὴ ἀνενέγκη̨ς τὰ ὁλοκαυτώματά σου ἐν παντὶ τόπω̨ οὑ̃ ἐὰν ἴδη̨ς (Ⅲ)

- Cave ne offeras holocausta tua in omni loco, quem videris : (Ⅳ)

- ‫ 13 ׃12 השמר לך פן תעלה עלתיך בכל מקום אשר תראה ‬ (Ⅴ)

12. 14

But in the place which the LORD shall choose in one of thy tribes, there thou shalt offer thy burnt offerings, and there thou shalt do all that I command thee.

- mais tu offriras tes holocaustes au lieu que l'Éternel choisira dans l'une de tes tribus, et c'est là que tu feras tout ce que je t'ordonne. (Ⅱ)

- ἀλλ' ἢ εἰς τὸν τόπον ὃν ἂν ἐκλέξηται κύριος ὁ θεός σου αὐτὸν ἐν μια̨̃ τω̃ν φυλω̃ν σου ἐκει̃ ἀνοίσεις τὰ ὁλοκαυτώματά σου καὶ ἐκει̃ ποιήσεις πάντα ὅσα ἐγὼ ἐντέλλομαί σοι σήμερον (Ⅲ)

- sed in eo, quem elegerit Dominus, in una tribuum tuarum offeres hostias, et facies quæcumque præcipio tibi.\ (Ⅳ)

- ‫ 14 ׃12 כי אם במקום אשר יבחר יהוה באחד שבטיך שם תעלה עלתיך ושם תעשה כל אשר אנכי מצוך ‬ (Ⅴ)

12. 15

Notwithstanding thou mayest kill and eat flesh in all thy gates, whatsoever thy soul lusteth after, according to the blessing of the LORD thy God which he hath given thee: the unclean and the clean may eat thereof, as of the roebuck, and as of the hart.

- Néanmoins, quand tu en auras le désir, tu pourras tuer du bétail et manger de la viande dans toutes tes portes, selon les bénédictions que t'accordera l'Éternel, ton Dieu; celui qui sera impur et celui qui sera pur pourront en manger, comme on mange de la gazelle et du cerf. (Ⅱ)

- ἀλλ' ἢ ἐν πάση̨ ἐπιθυμία̨ σου θύσεις καὶ φάγη̨ κρέα κατὰ τὴν εὐλογίαν κυρίου του̃ θεου̃ σου ἣν ἔδωκέν σοι ἐν πάση̨ πόλει ὁ ἀκάθαρτος ἐν σοὶ καὶ ὁ καθαρὸς ἐπὶ τὸ αὐτὸ φάγεται αὐτὸ ὡς δορκάδα ἢ ἔλαφον (Ⅲ)

- Sin autem comedere volueris, et te esus carnium delectaverit, occide, comede juxta benedictionem Domini Dei tui, quam dedit tibi in urbibus tuis : sive immundum fuerit, hoc est, maculatum et debile : sive mundum, hoc est, integrum et sine macula, quod offerri licet, sicut capream et cervum, comedes : (Ⅳ)

- ‫ 15 ׃12 רק בכל אות נפשך תזבח ואכלת בשר כברכת יהוה אלהיך אשר נתן לך בכל שעריך הטמא והטהור יאכלנו כצבי וכאיל ‬ (Ⅴ)

12. 16

Only ye shall not eat the blood; ye shall pour it upon the earth as water.

- Seulement, vous ne mangerez pas le sang: tu le répandras sur la terre comme de l'eau. (Ⅱ)

- πλὴν τὸ αἱ̃μα οὐ φάγεσθε ἐπὶ τὴν γη̃ν ἐκχεει̃τε αὐτὸ ὡς ὕδωρ (Ⅲ)

- absque esu dumtaxat sanguinis, quem super terram quasi aquam effundes. (Ⅳ)

- ‫ 16 ׃12 רק הדם לא תאכלו על הארץ תשפכנו כמים ‬ (Ⅴ)

12. 17

Thou mayest not eat within thy gates the tithe of thy corn, or of thy wine, or of thy oil, or the firstlings of thy herds or of thy flock, nor any of thy vows which thou vowest, nor thy freewill offerings, or heave offering of thine hand:

- Tu ne pourras pas manger dans tes portes la dîme de ton blé, de ton moût et de ton huile, ni les premiers-nés de ton gros et de ton menu bétail, ni aucune de tes offrandes en accomplissement d'un voeu, ni tes offrandes volontaires, ni tes prémices. (Ⅱ)

- οὐ δυνήση̨ φαγει̃ν ἐν ται̃ς πόλεσίν σου τὸ ἐπιδέκατον του̃ σίτου σου καὶ του̃ οἴνου σου καὶ του̃ ἐλαίου σου τὰ πρωτότοκα τω̃ν βοω̃ν σου καὶ τω̃ν προβάτων σου καὶ πάσας εὐχάς ὅσας ἂν εὔξησθε καὶ τὰς ὁμολογίας ὑμω̃ν καὶ τὰς ἀπαρχὰς τω̃ν χειρω̃ν ὑμω̃ν (Ⅲ)

- Non poteris comedere in oppidis tuis decimam frumenti, et vini, et olei tui, primogenita armentorum et pecorum, et omnia quæ voveris, et sponte offerre volueris, et primitias manuum tuarum : (Ⅳ)

- ‫ 17 ׃12 לא תוכל לאכל בשעריך מעשר דגנך ותירשך ויצהרך ובכרת בקרך וצאנך וכל נדריך אשר תדר ונדבתיך ותרומת ידך ‬ (Ⅴ)

12. 18

But thou must eat them before the LORD thy God in the place which the LORD thy God shall choose, thou, and thy son, and thy daughter, and thy manservant, and thy maidservant, and the Levite that is within thy gates: and thou shalt rejoice before the LORD thy God in all that thou puttest thine hands unto.

- Mais c'est devant l'Éternel, ton Dieu, que tu les mangeras, dans le lieu que l'Éternel, ton Dieu, choisira, toi, ton fils et ta fille, ton serviteur et ta servante, et le Lévite qui sera dans tes portes; et c'est devant l'Éternel, ton Dieu, que tu feras servir à ta joie tous les biens que tu posséderas. (Ⅱ)

- ἀλλ' ἢ ἐναντίον κυρίου του̃ θεου̃ σου φάγη̨ αὐτὰ ἐν τω̨̃ τόπω̨ ὡ̨̃ ἂν ἐκλέξηται κύριος ὁ θεός σου αὐτω̨̃ σὺ καὶ ὁ υἱός σου καὶ ἡ θυγάτηρ σου ὁ παι̃ς σου καὶ ἡ παιδίσκη σου καὶ ὁ προσήλυτος ὁ ἐν ται̃ς πόλεσιν ὑμω̃ν καὶ εὐφρανθήση̨ ἐναντίον κυρίου του̃ θεου̃ σου ἐπὶ πάντα οὑ̃ ἂν ἐπιβάλη̨ς τὴν χει̃ρά σου (Ⅲ)

- sed coram Domino Deo tuo comedes ea in loco, quem elegerit Dominus Deus tuus, tu et filius tuus, et filia tua, et servus et famula, atque Levites qui manet in urbibus tuis : et lætaberis et reficieris coram Domino Deo tuo in cunctis ad quæ extenderis manum tuam. (Ⅳ)

- ‫ 18 ׃12 כי אם לפני יהוה אלהיך תאכלנו במקום אשר יבחר יהוה אלהיך בו אתה ובנך ובתך ועבדך ואמתך והלוי אשר בשעריך ושמחת לפני יהוה אלהיך בכל משלח ידך ‬ (Ⅴ)

12. 19

Take heed to thyself that thou forsake not the Levite as long as thou livest upon the earth.

- Aussi longtemps que tu vivras dans ton pays, garde-toi de délaisser le Lévite. (Ⅱ)

- πρόσεχε σεαυτω̨̃ μὴ ἐγκαταλίπη̨ς τὸν Λευίτην πάντα τὸν χρόνον ὅσον ἐὰν ζη̨̃ς ἐπὶ τη̃ς γη̃ς (Ⅲ)

- Cave ne derelinquas Levitem in omni tempore quo versaris in terra. (Ⅳ)

- ‫ 19 ׃12 השמר לך פן תעזב את הלוי כל ימיך על אדמתך ס‬ (Ⅴ)

12. 20

When the LORD thy God shall enlarge thy border, as he hath promised thee, and thou shalt say, I will eat flesh, because thy soul longeth to eat flesh; thou mayest eat flesh, whatsoever thy soul lusteth after.

- Lorsque l'Éternel, ton Dieu, aura élargi tes frontières, comme il te l'a promis, et que le désir de manger de la viande te fera dire: Je voudrais manger de la viande! tu pourras en manger, selon ton désir. (Ⅱ)

- ἐὰν δὲ ἐμπλατύνη̨ κύριος ὁ θεός σου τὰ ὅριά σου καθάπερ ἐλάλησέν σοι καὶ ἐρει̃ς φάγομαι κρέα ἐὰν ἐπιθυμήση̨ ἡ ψυχή σου ὥστε φαγει̃ν κρέα ἐν πάση̨ ἐπιθυμία̨ τη̃ς ψυχη̃ς σου φάγη̨ κρέα (Ⅲ)

- Quando dilataverit Dominus Deus tuus terminos tuos, sicut locutus est tibi, et volueris vesci carnibus, quas desiderat anima tua : (Ⅳ)

- ‫ 20 ׃12 כי ירחיב יהוה אלהיך את גבולך כאשר דבר לך ואמרת אכלה בשר כי תאוה נפשך לאכל בשר בכל אות נפשך תאכל בשר ‬ (Ⅴ)

12. 21

If the place which the LORD thy God hath chosen to put his name there be too far from thee, then thou shalt kill of thy herd and of thy flock, which the LORD hath given thee, as I have commanded thee, and thou shalt eat in thy gates whatsoever thy soul lusteth after.

- Si le lieu que l'Éternel, ton Dieu, aura choisi pour y placer son nom est éloigné de toi, tu pourras tuer du gros et du menu bétail, comme je te l'ai prescrit, et tu pourras en manger dans tes portes selon ton désir. (Ⅱ)

- ἐὰν δὲ μακρότερον ἀπέχη̨ σου ὁ τόπος ὃν ἂν ἐκλέξηται κύριος ὁ θεός σου ἐπικληθη̃ναι τὸ ὄνομα αὐτου̃ ἐκει̃ καὶ θύσεις ἀπὸ τω̃ν βοω̃ν σου καὶ ἀπὸ τω̃ν προβάτων σου ὡ̃ν ἂν δω̨̃ ὁ θεός σοι ὃν τρόπον ἐνετειλάμην σοι καὶ φάγη̨ ἐν ται̃ς πόλεσίν σου κατὰ τὴν ἐπιθυμίαν τη̃ς ψυχη̃ς σου (Ⅲ)

- locus autem, quem elegerit Dominus Deus tuus ut sit nomen ejus ibi, si procul fuerit, occides de armentis et pecoribus, quæ habueris, sicut præcepi tibi, et comedes in oppidis tuis, ut tibi placet. (Ⅳ)

- ‫ 21 ׃12 כי ירחק ממך המקום אשר יבחר יהוה אלהיך לשום שמו שם וזבחת מבקרך ומצאנך אשר נתן יהוה לך כאשר צויתך ואכלת בשעריך בכל אות נפשך ‬ (Ⅴ)

12. 22

Even as the roebuck and the hart is eaten, so thou shalt eat them: the unclean and the clean shall eat of them alike.

- Tu en mangeras comme on mange de la gazelle et du cerf; celui qui sera impur, et celui qui sera pur en mangeront l'un et l'autre. (Ⅱ)

- ὡς ἔσθεται ἡ δορκὰς καὶ ἡ ἔλαφος οὕτως φάγη̨ αὐτό ὁ ἀκάθαρτος ἐν σοὶ καὶ ὁ καθαρὸς ὡσαύτως ἔδεται (Ⅲ)

- Sicut comeditur caprea et cervus, ita vesceris eis : et mundus et immundus in commune vescentur. (Ⅳ)

- ‫ 22 ׃12 אך כאשר יאכל את הצבי ואת האיל כן תאכלנו הטמא והטהור יחדו יאכלנו ‬ (Ⅴ)

12. 23

Only be sure that thou eat not the blood: for the blood is the life; and thou mayest not eat the life with the flesh.

- Seulement, garde-toi de manger le sang, car le sang, c'est l'âme; et tu ne mangeras pas l'âme avec la chair. (Ⅱ)

- πρόσεχε ἰσχυρω̃ς του̃ μὴ φαγει̃ν αἱ̃μα ὅτι τὸ αἱ̃μα αὐτου̃ ψυχή οὐ βρωθήσεται ἡ ψυχὴ μετὰ τω̃ν κρεω̃ν (Ⅲ)

- Hoc solum cave, ne sanguinem comedas : sanguis enim eorum pro anima est, et idcirco non debes animam comedere cum carnibus : (Ⅳ)

- ‫ 23 ׃12 רק חזק לבלתי אכל הדם כי הדם הוא הנפש ולא תאכל הנפש עם הבשר ‬ (Ⅴ)

12. 24

Thou shalt not eat it; thou shalt pour it upon the earth as water.

- Tu ne le mangeras pas: tu le répandras sur la terre comme de l'eau. (Ⅱ)

- οὐ φάγεσθε ἐπὶ τὴν γη̃ν ἐκχεει̃τε αὐτὸ ὡς ὕδωρ (Ⅲ)

- sed super terram fundes quasi aquam, (Ⅳ)

- ‫ 24 ׃12 לא תאכלנו על הארץ תשפכנו כמים ‬ (Ⅴ)

12. 25

Thou shalt not eat it; that it may go well with thee, and with thy children after thee, when thou shalt do that which is right in the sight of the LORD.

- Tu ne le mangeras pas, afin que tu sois heureux, toi et tes enfants après toi, en faisant ce qui est droit aux yeux de l'Éternel. (Ⅱ)

- οὐ φάγη̨ αὐτό ἵνα εὐ̃ σοι γένηται καὶ τοι̃ς υἱοι̃ς σου μετὰ σέ ἐὰν ποιήση̨ς τὸ καλὸν καὶ τὸ ἀρεστὸν ἐναντίον κυρίου του̃ θεου̃ σου (Ⅲ)

- ut bene sit tibi et filiis tuis post te, cum feceris quod placet in conspectu Domini. (Ⅳ)

- ‫ 25 ׃12 לא תאכלנו למען ייטב לך ולבניך אחריך כי תעשה הישר בעיני יהוה ‬ (Ⅴ)

12. 26

Only thy holy things which thou hast, and thy vows, thou shalt take, and go unto the place which the LORD shall choose:

- Mais les choses que tu voudras consacrer et les offrandes que tu feras en accomplissement d'un voeu, tu iras les présenter au lieu qu'aura choisi l'Éternel. (Ⅱ)

- πλὴν τὰ ἅγιά σου ἐὰν γένηταί σοι καὶ τὰς εὐχάς σου λαβὼν ἥξεις εἰς τὸν τόπον ὃν ἂν ἐκλέξηται κύριος ὁ θεός σου ἐπικληθη̃ναι τὸ ὄνομα αὐτου̃ ἐκει̃ (Ⅲ)

- Quæ autem sanctificaveris, et voveris Domino, tolles, et venies ad locum, quem elegerit Dominus : (Ⅳ)

- ‫ 26 ׃12 רק קדשיך אשר יהיו לך ונדריך תשא ובאת אל המקום אשר יבחר יהוה ‬ (Ⅴ)

12. 27

And thou shalt offer thy burnt offerings, the flesh and the blood, upon the altar of the LORD thy God: and the blood of thy sacrifices shall be poured out upon the altar of the LORD thy God, and thou shalt eat the flesh.

- Tu offriras tes holocaustes, la chair et le sang, sur l'autel de l'Éternel, ton Dieu; dans tes autres sacrifices, le sang sera répandu sur l'autel de l'Éternel, ton Dieu, et tu mangeras la chair. (Ⅱ)

- καὶ ποιήσεις τὰ ὁλοκαυτώματά σου τὰ κρέα ἀνοίσεις ἐπὶ τὸ θυσιαστήριον κυρίου του̃ θεου̃ σου τὸ δὲ αἱ̃μα τω̃ν θυσιω̃ν σου προσχεει̃ς πρὸς τὴν βάσιν του̃ θυσιαστηρίου κυρίου του̃ θεου̃ σου τὰ δὲ κρέα φάγη̨ (Ⅲ)

- et offeres oblationes tuas carnem et sanguinem super altare Domini Dei tui : sanguinem hostiarum fundes in altari ; carnibus autem ipse vesceris. (Ⅳ)

- ‫ 27 ׃12 ועשית עלתיך הבשר והדם על מזבח יהוה אלהיך ודם זבחיך ישפך על מזבח יהוה אלהיך והבשר תאכל ‬ (Ⅴ)

12. 28

Observe and hear all these words which I command thee, that it may go well with thee, and with thy children after thee for ever, when thou doest that which is good and right in the sight of the LORD thy God.

- Garde et écoute toutes ces choses que je t'ordonne, afin que tu sois heureux, toi et tes enfants après toi, à perpétuité, en faisant ce qui est bien et ce qui est droit aux yeux de l'Éternel, ton Dieu. (Ⅱ)

- φυλάσσου καὶ ἄκουε καὶ ποιήσεις πάντας τοὺς λόγους οὓς ἐγὼ ἐντέλλομαί σοι ἵνα εὐ̃ σοι γένηται καὶ τοι̃ς υἱοι̃ς σου δι' αἰω̃νος ἐὰν ποιήση̨ς τὸ καλὸν καὶ τὸ ἀρεστὸν ἐναντίον κυρίου του̃ θεου̃ σου (Ⅲ)

- Observa et audi omnia quæ ego præcipio tibi, ut bene sit tibi et filiis tuis post te in sempiternum, cum feceris quod bonum est et placitum in conspectu Domini Dei tui. (Ⅳ)

- ‫ 28 ׃12 שמר ושמעת את כל הדברים האלה אשר אנכי מצוך למען ייטב לך ולבניך אחריך עד עולם כי תעשה הטוב והישר בעיני יהוה אלהיך ס‬ (Ⅴ)

12. 29

When the LORD thy God shall cut off the nations from before thee, whither thou goest to possess them, and thou succeedest them, and dwellest in their land;

- Lorsque l'Éternel, ton Dieu, aura exterminé les nations que tu vas chasser devant toi, lorsque tu les auras chassées et que tu te seras établi dans leur pays, (Ⅱ)

- ἐὰν δὲ ἐξολεθρεύση̨ κύριος ὁ θεός σου τὰ ἔθνη εἰς οὓς σὺ εἰσπορεύη̨ ἐκει̃ κληρονομη̃σαι τὴν γη̃ν αὐτω̃ν ἀπὸ προσώπου σου καὶ κατακληρονομήση̨ς αὐτοὺς καὶ κατοικήση̨ς ἐν τη̨̃ γη̨̃ αὐτω̃ν (Ⅲ)

- Quando disperdiderit Dominus Deus tuus ante faciem tuam gentes, ad quas ingredieris possidendas, et possederis eas, atque habitaveris in terra earum : (Ⅳ)

- ‫ 29 ׃12 כי יכרית יהוה אלהיך את הגוים אשר אתה בא שמה לרשת אותם מפניך וירשת אתם וישבת בארצם ‬ (Ⅴ)

12. 30

Take heed to thyself that thou be not snared by following them, after that they be destroyed from before thee; and that thou inquire not after their gods, saying, How did these nations serve their gods? even so will I do likewise.

- garde-toi de te laisser prendre au piège en les imitant, après qu'elles auront été détruites devant toi. Garde-toi de t'informer de leurs dieux et de dire: Comment ces nations servaient-elles leurs dieux? Moi aussi, je veux faire de même. (Ⅱ)

- πρόσεχε σεαυτω̨̃ μὴ ἐκζητήση̨ς ἐπακολουθη̃σαι αὐτοι̃ς μετὰ τὸ ἐξολεθρευθη̃ναι αὐτοὺς ἀπὸ προσώπου σου οὐ μὴ ἐκζητήση̨ς τοὺς θεοὺς αὐτω̃ν λέγων πω̃ς ποιου̃σιν τὰ ἔθνη ταυ̃τα τοι̃ς θεοι̃ς αὐτω̃ν ποιήσω κἀγώ (Ⅲ)

- cave ne imiteris eas, postquam te fuerint introëunte subversæ, et requiras cæremonias earum, dicens : Sicut coluerunt gentes istæ deos suos, ita et ego colam. (Ⅳ)

- ‫ 30 ׃12 השמר לך פן תנקש אחריהם אחרי השמדם מפניך ופן תדרש לאלהיהם לאמר איכה יעבדו הגוים האלה את אלהיהם ואעשה כן גם אני ‬ (Ⅴ)

12. 31

Thou shalt not do so unto the LORD thy God: for every abomination to the LORD, which he hateth, have they done unto their gods; for even their sons and their daughters they have burnt in the fire to their gods.

- Tu n'agiras pas ainsi à l'égard de l'Éternel, ton Dieu; car elles servaient leurs dieux en faisant toutes les abominations qui sont odieuses à l'Éternel, et même elles brûlaient au feu leurs fils et leurs filles en l'honneur de leurs dieux. (Ⅱ)

- οὐ ποιήσεις οὕτως κυρίω̨ τω̨̃ θεω̨̃ σου τὰ γὰρ βδελύγματα ἃ κύριος ἐμίσησεν ἐποίησαν τοι̃ς θεοι̃ς αὐτω̃ν ὅτι τοὺς υἱοὺς αὐτω̃ν καὶ τὰς θυγατέρας αὐτω̃ν κατακαίουσιν ἐν πυρὶ τοι̃ς θεοι̃ς αὐτω̃ν (Ⅲ)

- Non facies similiter Domino Deo tuo. Omnes enim abominationes, quas aversatur Dominus, fecerunt diis suis, offerentes filios et filias, et comburentes igni. (Ⅳ)

- ‫ 31 ׃12 לא תעשה כן ליהוה אלהיך כי כל תועבת יהוה אשר שנא עשו לאלהיהם כי גם את בניהם ואת בנתיהם ישרפו באש לאלהיהם ‬ (Ⅴ)

12. 32

What thing soever I command you, observe to do it: thou shalt not add thereto, nor diminish from it.

- Vous observerez et vous mettrez en pratique toutes les choses que je vous ordonne; vous n'y ajouterez rien, et vous n'en retrancherez rien. (Ⅱ)

- πα̃ν ῥη̃μα ὃ ἐγὼ ἐντέλλομαί σοι σήμερον του̃το φυλάξη̨ ποιει̃ν οὐ προσθήσεις ἐπ' αὐτὸ οὐδὲ ἀφελει̃ς ἀπ' αὐτου̃ (Ⅲ)

- Quod præcipio tibi, hoc tantum facito Domino : nec addas quidquam, nec minuas. (Ⅳ)

- ‫ 1 ׃13 את כל הדבר אשר אנכי מצוה אתכם אתו תשמרו לעשות לא תסף עליו ולא תגרע ממנו פ‬ (Ⅴ)
