They say, If a man put away his wife, and she go from him, and become another man's, shall he return unto her again? shall not that land be greatly polluted? but thou hast played the harlot with many lovers; yet return again to me, saith the LORD.
- Il dit: Lorsqu'un homme répudie sa femme, Qu'elle le quitte et devient la femme d'un autre, Cet homme retourne-t-il encore vers elle? Le pays même ne serait-il pas souillé? Et toi, tu t'es prostituée à de nombreux amants, Et tu reviendrais à moi! dit l'Éternel. (Ⅱ) - ἐὰν ἐξαποστείλη̨ ἀνὴρ τὴν γυναι̃κα αὐτου̃ καὶ ἀπέλθη̨ ἀπ' αὐτου̃ καὶ γένηται ἀνδρὶ ἑτέρω̨ μὴ ἀνακάμπτουσα ἀνακάμψει πρὸς αὐτὸν ἔτι οὐ μιαινομένη μιανθήσεται ἡ γυνὴ ἐκείνη καὶ σὺ ἐξεπόρνευσας ἐν ποιμέσιν πολλοι̃ς καὶ ἀνέκαμπτες πρός με λέγει κύριος (Ⅲ) - Vulgo dicitur : Si dimiserit vir uxorem suam,/ et recedens ab eo duxerit virum alterum,/ numquid revertetur ad eam ultra ?/ numquid non polluta et contaminata erit mulier illa ?/ Tu autem fornicata es cum amatoribus multis :/ tamen revertere ad me, dicit Dominus,/ et ego suscipiam te./ (Ⅳ) - 1 ׃3 לאמר הן ישלח איש את אשתו והלכה מאתו והיתה לאיש אחר הישוב אליה עוד הלוא חנוף תחנף הארץ ההיא ואת זנית רעים רבים ושוב אלי נאם יהוה (Ⅴ)

Lift up thine eyes unto the high places, and see where thou hast not been lien with. In the ways hast thou sat for them, as the Arabian in the wilderness; and thou hast polluted the land with thy whoredoms and with thy wickedness.
- Lève tes yeux vers les hauteurs, et regarde! Où ne t'es-tu pas prostituée! Tu te tenais sur les chemins, comme l'Arabe dans le désert, Et tu as souillé le pays par tes prostitutions et par ta méchanceté. (Ⅱ) - ἀ̃ρον εἰς εὐθει̃αν τοὺς ὀφθαλμούς σου καὶ ἰδέ που̃ οὐχὶ ἐξεφύρθης ἐπὶ ται̃ς ὁδοι̃ς ἐκάθισας αὐτοι̃ς ὡσεὶ κορώνη ἐρημουμένη καὶ ἐμίανας τὴν γη̃ν ἐν ται̃ς πορνείαις σου καὶ ἐν ται̃ς κακίαις σου (Ⅲ) - Leva oculos tuos in directum,/ et vide ubi non prostrata sis./ In viis sedebas,/ exspectans eos quasi latro in solitudine :/ et polluisti terram in fornicationibus tuis, et in malitiis tuis./ (Ⅳ) - 2 ׃3 שאי עיניך על שפים וראי איפה לא *שגלת **שכבת על דרכים ישבת להם כערבי במדבר ותחניפי ארץ בזנותיך וברעתך (Ⅴ)

Therefore the showers have been withholden, and there hath been no latter rain; and thou hadst a whore's forehead, thou refusedst to be ashamed.
- Aussi les pluies ont-elles été retenues, Et la pluie du printemps a-t-elle manqué; Mais tu as eu le front d'une femme prostituée, Tu n'as pas voulu avoir honte. (Ⅱ) - καὶ ἔσχες ποιμένας πολλοὺς εἰς πρόσκομμα σεαυτη̨̃ ὄψις πόρνης ἐγένετό σοι ἀπηναισχύντησας πρὸς πάντας (Ⅲ) - Quam ob rem prohibitæ sunt stillæ pluviarum,/ et serotinus imber non fuit./ Frons mulieris meretricis facta est tibi ;/ noluisti erubescere./ (Ⅳ) - 3 ׃3 וימנעו רבבים ומלקוש לוא היה ומצח אשה זונה היה לך מאנת הכלם (Ⅴ)

Wilt thou not from this time cry unto me, My father, thou art the guide of my youth?
- Maintenant, n'est-ce pas? tu cries vers moi: Mon père! Tu as été l'ami de ma jeunesse! (Ⅱ) - οὐχ ὡς οἰ̃κόν με ἐκάλεσας καὶ πατέρα καὶ ἀρχηγὸν τη̃ς παρθενίας σου (Ⅲ) - Ergo saltem amodo voca me :/ Pater meus, dux virginitatis meæ tu es :/ (Ⅳ) - 4 ׃3 הלוא מעתה *קראתי **קראת לי אבי אלוף נערי אתה (Ⅴ)

Will he reserve his anger for ever? will he keep it to the end? Behold, thou hast spoken and done evil things as thou couldest.
- Gardera-t-il à toujours sa colère? La conservera-t-il à jamais? Et voici, tu as dit, tu as fait des choses criminelles, tu les as consommées. (Ⅱ) - μὴ διαμενει̃ εἰς τὸν αἰω̃να ἢ διαφυλαχθήσεται εἰς νει̃κος ἰδοὺ ἐλάλησας καὶ ἐποίησας τὰ πονηρὰ ταυ̃τα καὶ ἠδυνάσθης (Ⅲ) - numquid irasceris in perpetuum,/ aut perseverabis in finem ?/ ecce locuta es, et fecisti mala, et potuisti.]\ (Ⅳ) - 5 ׃3 הינטר לעולם אם ישמר לנצח הנה *דברתי **דברת[y] ותעשי הרעות ותוכל פ (Ⅴ)

The LORD said also unto me in the days of Josiah the king, Hast thou seen that which backsliding Israel hath done? she is gone up upon every high mountain and under every green tree, and there hath played the harlot.
- L'Éternel me dit, au temps du roi Josias: As-tu vu ce qu'a fait l'infidèle Israël? Elle est allée sur toute montagne élevée et sous tout arbre vert, et là elle s'est prostituée. (Ⅱ) - καὶ εἰ̃πεν κύριος πρός με ἐν ται̃ς ἡμέραις Ιωσια του̃ βασιλέως εἰ̃δες ἃ ἐποίησέν μοι ἡ κατοικία του̃ Ισραηλ ἐπορεύθησαν ἐπὶ πα̃ν ὄρος ὑψηλὸν καὶ ὑποκάτω παντὸς ξύλου ἀλσώδους καὶ ἐπόρνευσαν ἐκει̃ (Ⅲ) - Et dixit Dominus ad me in diebus Josiæ regis : [Numquid vidisti quæ fecerit aversatrix Israël ?/ Abiit sibimet super omnem montem excelsum,/ et sub omni ligno frondoso,/ et fornicata est ibi./ (Ⅳ) - 6 ׃3 ויאמר יהוה אלי בימי יאשיהו המלך הראית אשר עשתה משבה ישראל הלכה היא על כל הר גבה ואל תחת כל עץ רענן ותזני שם (Ⅴ)

And I said after she had done all these things, Turn thou unto me. But she returned not. And her treacherous sister Judah saw it.
- Je disais: Après avoir fait toutes ces choses, elle reviendra à moi. Mais elle n'est pas revenue. Et sa soeur, la perfide Juda, en a été témoin. (Ⅱ) - καὶ εἰ̃πα μετὰ τὸ πορνευ̃σαι αὐτὴν ταυ̃τα πάντα πρός με ἀνάστρεψον καὶ οὐκ ἀνέστρεψεν καὶ εἰ̃δεν τὴν ἀσυνθεσίαν αὐτη̃ς ἡ ἀσύνθετος Ιουδα (Ⅲ) - Et dixi, cum fecisset hæc omnia :/ Ad me revertere :/ et non est reversa./ Et vidit prævaricatrix soror ejus Juda/ (Ⅳ) - 7 ׃3 ואמר אחרי עשותה את כל אלה אלי תשוב ולא שבה *ותראה **ותרא בגודה אחותה יהודה (Ⅴ)

And I saw, when for all the causes whereby backsliding Israel committed adultery I had put her away, and given her a bill of divorce; yet her treacherous sister Judah feared not, but went and played the harlot also.
- Quoique j'eusse répudié l'infidèle Israël à cause de tous ses adultères, et que je lui eusse donné sa lettre de divorce, j'ai vu que la perfide Juda, sa soeur, n'a point eu de crainte, et qu'elle est allée se prostituer pareillement. (Ⅱ) - καὶ εἰ̃δον διότι περὶ πάντων ὡ̃ν κατελήμφθη ἐν οἱ̃ς ἐμοιχα̃το ἡ κατοικία του̃ Ισραηλ καὶ ἐξαπέστειλα αὐτὴν καὶ ἔδωκα αὐτη̨̃ βιβλίον ἀποστασίου εἰς τὰς χει̃ρας αὐτη̃ς καὶ οὐκ ἐφοβήθη ἡ ἀσύνθετος Ιουδα καὶ ἐπορεύθη καὶ ἐπόρνευσεν καὶ αὐτή (Ⅲ) - quia pro eo quod mœchata esset aversatrix Israël,/ dimisissem eam,/ et dedissem ei libellum repudii :/ et non timuit prævaricatrix Juda soror ejus,/ sed abiit, et fornicata est etiam ipsa :/ (Ⅳ) - 8 ׃3 וארא כי על כל אדות אשר נאפה משבה ישראל שלחתיה ואתן את ספר כריתתיה אליה ולא יראה בגדה יהודה אחותה ותלך ותזן גם היא (Ⅴ)

And it came to pass through the lightness of her whoredom, that she defiled the land, and committed adultery with stones and with stocks.
- Par sa criante impudicité Israël a souillé le pays, elle a commis un adultère avec la pierre et le bois. (Ⅱ) - καὶ ἐγένετο εἰς οὐθὲν ἡ πορνεία αὐτη̃ς καὶ ἐμοίχευσεν τὸ ξύλον καὶ τὸν λίθον (Ⅲ) - et facilitate fornicationis suæ contaminavit terram,/ et mœchata est cum lapide et ligno :/ (Ⅳ) - 9 ׃3 והיה מקל זנותה ותחנף את הארץ ותנאף את האבן ואת העץ (Ⅴ)

And yet for all this her treacherous sister Judah hath not turned unto me with her whole heart, but feignedly, saith the LORD.
- Malgré tout cela, la perfide Juda, sa soeur, n'est pas revenue à moi de tout son coeur; c'est avec fausseté qu'elle l'a fait, dit l'Éternel. (Ⅱ) - καὶ ἐν πα̃σιν τούτοις οὐκ ἐπεστράφη πρός με ἡ ἀσύνθετος Ιουδα ἐξ ὅλης τη̃ς καρδίας αὐτη̃ς ἀλλ' ἐπὶ ψεύδει (Ⅲ) - et in omnibus his non est reversa ad me/ prævaricatrix soror ejus Juda/ in toto corde suo,/ sed in mendacio, ait Dominus.] (Ⅳ) - 10 ׃3 וגם בכל זאת לא שבה אלי בגודה אחותה יהודה בכל לבה כי אם בשקר נאם יהוה פ (Ⅴ)

And the LORD said unto me, The backsliding Israel hath justified herself more than treacherous Judah.
- L'Éternel me dit: L'infidèle Israël paraît innocente En comparaison de la perfide Juda. (Ⅱ) - καὶ εἰ̃πεν κύριος πρός με ἐδικαίωσεν τὴν ψυχὴν αὐτου̃ Ισραηλ ἀπὸ τη̃ς ἀσυνθέτου Ιουδα (Ⅲ) - Et dixit Dominus ad me : Justificavit animam suam aversatrix Israël, comparatione prævaricatricis Judæ. (Ⅳ) - 11 ׃3 ויאמר יהוה אלי צדקה נפשה משבה ישראל מבגדה יהודה (Ⅴ)

Go and proclaim these words toward the north, and say, Return, thou backsliding Israel, saith the LORD; and I will not cause mine anger to fall upon you: for I am merciful, saith the LORD, and I will not keep anger for ever.
- Va, crie ces paroles vers le septentrion, et dis: Reviens, infidèle Israël! dit l'Éternel. Je ne jetterai pas sur vous un regard sévère; Car je suis miséricordieux, dit l'Éternel, Je ne garde pas ma colère à toujours. (Ⅱ) - πορεύου καὶ ἀνάγνωθι τοὺς λόγους τούτους πρὸς βορρα̃ν καὶ ἐρει̃ς ἐπιστράφητι πρός με ἡ κατοικία του̃ Ισραηλ λέγει κύριος καὶ οὐ στηριω̃ τὸ πρόσωπόν μου ἐφ' ὑμα̃ς ὅτι ἐλεήμων ἐγώ εἰμι λέγει κύριος καὶ οὐ μηνιω̃ ὑμι̃ν εἰς τὸν αἰω̃να (Ⅲ) - Vade, et clama sermones istos contra aquilonem, et dices : [Revertere, aversatrix Israël, ait Dominus,/ et non avertam faciem meam a vobis,/ quia sanctus ego sum, dicit Dominus,/ et non irascar in perpetuum./ (Ⅳ) - 12 ׃3 הלך וקראת את הדברים האלה צפונה ואמרת שובה משבה ישראל נאם יהוה לוא אפיל פני בכם כי חסיד אני נאם יהוה לא אטור לעולם (Ⅴ)

Only acknowledge thine iniquity, that thou hast transgressed against the LORD thy God, and hast scattered thy ways to the strangers under every green tree, and ye have not obeyed my voice, saith the LORD.
- Reconnais seulement ton iniquité, Reconnais que tu as été infidèle à l'Éternel, ton Dieu, Que tu as dirigé çà et là tes pas vers les dieux étrangers, Sous tout arbre vert, Et que tu n'as pas écouté ma voix, dit l'Éternel. (Ⅱ) - πλὴν γνω̃θι τὴν ἀδικίαν σου ὅτι εἰς κύριον τὸν θεόν σου ἠσέβησας καὶ διέχεας τὰς ὁδούς σου εἰς ἀλλοτρίους ὑποκάτω παντὸς ξύλου ἀλσώδους τη̃ς δὲ φωνη̃ς μου οὐχ ὑπήκουσας λέγει κύριος (Ⅲ) - Verumtamen scito iniquitatem tuam,/ quia in Dominum Deum tuum prævaricata es,/ et dispersisti vias tuas alienis sub omni ligno frondoso,/ et vocem meam non audisti, ait Dominus./ (Ⅳ) - 13 ׃3 אך דעי עונך כי ביהוה אלהיך פשעת ותפזרי את דרכיך לזרים תחת כל עץ רענן ובקולי לא שמעתם נאם יהוה (Ⅴ)

Turn, O backsliding children, saith the LORD; for I am married unto you: and I will take you one of a city, and two of a family, and I will bring you to Zion:
- Revenez, enfants rebelles, dit l'Éternel; Car je suis votre maître. Je vous prendrai, un d'une ville, deux d'une famille, Et je vous ramènerai dans Sion. (Ⅱ) - ἐπιστράφητε υἱοὶ ἀφεστηκότες λέγει κύριος διότι ἐγὼ κατακυριεύσω ὑμω̃ν καὶ λήμψομαι ὑμα̃ς ἕνα ἐκ πόλεως καὶ δύο ἐκ πατρια̃ς καὶ εἰσάξω ὑμα̃ς εἰς Σιων (Ⅲ) - Convertimini, filii revertentes, dicit Dominus,/ quia ego vir vester :/ et assumam vos unum de civitate,/ et duos de cognatione,/ et introducam vos in Sion./ (Ⅳ) - 14 ׃3 שובו בנים שובבים נאם יהוה כי אנכי בעלתי בכם ולקחתי אתכם אחד מעיר ושנים ממשפחה והבאתי אתכם ציון (Ⅴ)

And I will give you pastors according to mine heart, which shall feed you with knowledge and understanding.
- Je vous donnerai des bergers selon mon coeur, Et ils vous paîtront avec intelligence et avec sagesse. (Ⅱ) - καὶ δώσω ὑμι̃ν ποιμένας κατὰ τὴν καρδίαν μου καὶ ποιμανου̃σιν ὑμα̃ς ποιμαίνοντες μετ' ἐπιστήμης (Ⅲ) - Et dabo vobis pastores juxta cor meum,/ et pascent vos scientia et doctrina./ (Ⅳ) - 15 ׃3 ונתתי לכם רעים כלבי ורעו אתכם דעה והשכיל (Ⅴ)

And it shall come to pass, when ye be multiplied and increased in the land, in those days, saith the LORD, they shall say no more, The ark of the covenant of the LORD: neither shall it come to mind: neither shall they remember it; neither shall they visit it; neither shall that be done any more.
- Lorsque vous aurez multiplié et fructifié dans le pays, En ces jours-là, dit l'Éternel, On ne parlera plus de l'arche de l'alliance de l'Éternel; Elle ne viendra plus à la pensée; On ne se la rappellera plus, on ne s'apercevra plus de son absence, Et l'on n'en fera point une autre. (Ⅱ) - καὶ ἔσται ἐὰν πληθυνθη̃τε καὶ αὐξηθη̃τε ἐπὶ τη̃ς γη̃ς ἐν ται̃ς ἡμέραις ἐκείναις λέγει κύριος οὐκ ἐρου̃σιν ἔτι κιβωτὸς διαθήκης ἁγίου Ισραηλ οὐκ ἀναβήσεται ἐπὶ καρδίαν οὐκ ὀνομασθήσεται οὐδὲ ἐπισκεφθήσεται καὶ οὐ ποιηθήσεται ἔτι (Ⅲ) - Cumque multiplicati fueritis,/ et creveritis in terra in diebus illis, ait Dominus,/ non dicent ultra :/ Arca testamenti Domini :/ neque ascendet super cor, neque recordabuntur illius,/ nec visitabitur, nec fiet ultra./ (Ⅳ) - 16 ׃3 והיה כי תרבו ופריתם בארץ בימים ההמה נאם יהוה לא יאמרו עוד ארון ברית יהוה ולא יעלה על לב ולא יזכרו בו ולא יפקדו ולא יעשה עוד (Ⅴ)

At that time they shall call Jerusalem the throne of the LORD; and all the nations shall be gathered unto it, to the name of the LORD, to Jerusalem: neither shall they walk any more after the imagination of their evil heart.
- En ce temps-là, on appellera Jérusalem le trône de l'Éternel; Toutes les nations s'assembleront à Jérusalem, au nom de l'Éternel, Et elles ne suivront plus les penchants de leur mauvais coeur. (Ⅱ) - ἐν ται̃ς ἡμέραις ἐκείναις καὶ ἐν τω̨̃ καιρω̨̃ ἐκείνω̨ καλέσουσιν τὴν Ιερουσαλημ θρόνος κυρίου καὶ συναχθήσονται εἰς αὐτὴν πάντα τὰ ἔθνη καὶ οὐ πορεύσονται ἔτι ὀπίσω τω̃ν ἐνθυμημάτων τη̃ς καρδίας αὐτω̃ν τη̃ς πονηρα̃ς (Ⅲ) - In tempore illo vocabunt Jerusalem solium Domini :/ et congregabuntur ad eam omnes gentes/ in nomine Domini in Jerusalem,/ et non ambulabunt post pravitatem cordis sui pessimi./ (Ⅳ) - 17 ׃3 בעת ההיא יקראו לירושלם כסא יהוה ונקוו אליה כל הגוים לשם יהוה לירושלם ולא ילכו עוד אחרי שררות לבם הרע ס (Ⅴ)

In those days the house of Judah shall walk with the house of Israel, and they shall come together out of the land of the north to the land that I have given for an inheritance unto your fathers.
- En ces jours, La maison de Juda marchera avec la maison d'Israël; Elles viendront ensemble du pays du septentrion Au pays dont j'ai donné la possession à vos pères. (Ⅱ) - ἐν ται̃ς ἡμέραις ἐκείναις συνελεύσονται οἰ̃κος Ιουδα ἐπὶ τὸν οἰ̃κον του̃ Ισραηλ καὶ ἥξουσιν ἐπὶ τὸ αὐτὸ ἀπὸ γη̃ς βορρα̃ καὶ ἀπὸ πασω̃ν τω̃ν χωρω̃ν ἐπὶ τὴν γη̃ν ἣν κατεκληρονόμησα τοὺς πατέρας αὐτω̃ν (Ⅲ) - In diebus illis ibit domus Juda ad domum Israël,/ et venient simul de terra aquilonis/ ad terram quam dedi patribus vestris./ (Ⅳ) - 18 ׃3 בימים ההמה ילכו בית יהודה על בית ישראל ויבאו יחדו מארץ צפון על הארץ אשר הנחלתי את אבותיכם (Ⅴ)

But I said, How shall I put thee among the children, and give thee a pleasant land, a goodly heritage of the hosts of nations? and I said, Thou shalt call me, My father; and shalt not turn away from me.
- Je disais: Comment te mettrai-je parmi mes enfants, Et te donnerai-je un pays de délices, Un héritage, le plus bel ornement des nations? Je disais: Tu m'appelleras: Mon père! Et tu ne te détourneras pas de moi. (Ⅱ) - καὶ ἐγὼ εἰ̃πα γένοιτο κύριε ὅτι τάξω σε εἰς τέκνα καὶ δώσω σοι γη̃ν ἐκλεκτὴν κληρονομίαν θεου̃ παντοκράτορος ἐθνω̃ν καὶ εἰ̃πα πατέρα καλέσετέ με καὶ ἀπ' ἐμου̃ οὐκ ἀποστραφήσεσθε (Ⅲ) - Ego autem dixi :/ Quomodo ponam te in filios,/ et tribuam tibi terram desiderabilem,/ hæreditatem præclaram exercituum gentium ?/ Et dixi : Patrem vocabis me,/ et post me ingredi non cessabis./ (Ⅳ) - 19 ׃3 ואנכי אמרתי איך אשיתך בבנים ואתן לך ארץ חמדה נחלת צבי צבאות גוים ואמר אבי *תקראו **תקראי לי ומאחרי לא *תשובו **תשובי (Ⅴ)

Surely as a wife treacherously departeth from her husband, so have ye dealt treacherously with me, O house of Israel, saith the LORD.
- Mais, comme une femme est infidèle à son amant, Ainsi vous m'avez été infidèles, maison d'Israël, Dit l'Éternel. (Ⅱ) - πλὴν ὡς ἀθετει̃ γυνὴ εἰς τὸν συνόντα αὐτη̨̃ οὕτως ἠθέτησεν εἰς ἐμὲ οἰ̃κος Ισραηλ λέγει κύριος (Ⅲ) - Sed quomodo si contemnat mulier amatorem suum,/ sic contempsit me domus Israël,/ dicit Dominus./ (Ⅳ) - 20 ׃3 אכן בגדה אשה מרעה כן בגדתם בי בית ישראל נאם יהוה (Ⅴ)

A voice was heard upon the high places, weeping and supplications of the children of Israel: for they have perverted their way, and they have forgotten the LORD their God.
- Une voix se fait entendre sur les lieux élevés; Ce sont les pleurs, les supplications des enfants d'Israël; Car ils ont perverti leur voie, Ils ont oublié l'Éternel, leur Dieu. (Ⅱ) - φωνὴ ἐκ χειλέων ἠκούσθη κλαυθμου̃ καὶ δεήσεως υἱω̃ν Ισραηλ ὅτι ἠδίκησαν ἐν ται̃ς ὁδοι̃ς αὐτω̃ν ἐπελάθοντο θεου̃ ἁγίου αὐτω̃ν (Ⅲ) - Vox in viis audita est,/ ploratus et ululatus filiorum Israël :/ quoniam iniquam fecerunt viam suam ;/ obliti sunt Domini Dei sui./ (Ⅳ) - 21 ׃3 קול על שפיים נשמע בכי תחנוני בני ישראל כי העוו את דרכם שכחו את יהוה אלהיהם (Ⅴ)

Return, ye backsliding children, and I will heal your backslidings. Behold, we come unto thee; for thou art the LORD our God.

Truly in vain is salvation hoped for from the hills, and from the multitude of mountains: truly in the LORD our God is the salvation of Israel.
- Oui, le bruit qui vient des collines et des montagnes n'est que mensonge; Oui, c'est en l'Éternel, notre Dieu, qu'est le salut d'Israël. (Ⅱ) - ὄντως εἰς ψευ̃δος ἠ̃σαν οἱ βουνοὶ καὶ ἡ δύναμις τω̃ν ὀρέων πλὴν διὰ κυρίου θεου̃ ἡμω̃ν ἡ σωτηρία του̃ Ισραηλ (Ⅲ) - Vere mendaces erant colles,/ et multitudo montium :/ vere in Domino Deo nostro salus Israël./ (Ⅳ) - 23 ׃3 אכן לשקר מגבעות המון הרים אכן ביהוה אלהינו תשועת ישראל (Ⅴ)

For shame hath devoured the labour of our fathers from our youth; their flocks and their herds, their sons and their daughters.
- Les idoles ont dévoré le produit du travail de nos pères, Dès notre jeunesse, Leurs brebis et leurs boeufs, leurs fils et leurs filles. (Ⅱ) - ἡ δὲ αἰσχύνη κατανάλωσεν τοὺς μόχθους τω̃ν πατέρων ἡμω̃ν ἀπὸ νεότητος ἡμω̃ν τὰ πρόβατα αὐτω̃ν καὶ τοὺς μόσχους αὐτω̃ν καὶ τοὺς υἱοὺς αὐτω̃ν καὶ τὰς θυγατέρας αὐτω̃ν (Ⅲ) - Confusio comedit laborem patrum nostrorum ab adolescentia nostra :/ greges eorum, et armenta eorum,/ filios eorum, et filias eorum./ (Ⅳ) - 24 ׃3 והבשת אכלה את יגיע אבותינו מנעורינו את צאנם ואת בקרם את בניהם ואת בנותיהם (Ⅴ)

We lie down in our shame, and our confusion covereth us: for we have sinned against the LORD our God, we and our fathers, from our youth even unto this day, and have not obeyed the voice of the LORD our God.
- Nous avons notre honte pour couche, Et notre ignominie pour couverture; Car nous avons péché contre l'Éternel, notre Dieu, Nous et nos pères, dès notre jeunesse jusqu'à ce jour, Et nous n'avons pas écouté la voix de l'Éternel, notre Dieu. - (Ⅱ) - ἐκοιμήθημεν ἐν τη̨̃ αἰσχύνη̨ ἡμω̃ν καὶ ἐπεκάλυψεν ἡμα̃ς ἡ ἀτιμία ἡμω̃ν διότι ἔναντι του̃ θεου̃ ἡμω̃ν ἡμάρτομεν ἡμει̃ς καὶ οἱ πατέρες ἡμω̃ν ἀπὸ νεότητος ἡμω̃ν ἕως τη̃ς ἡμέρας ταύτης καὶ οὐχ ὑπηκούσαμεν τη̃ς φωνη̃ς κυρίου του̃ θεου̃ ἡμω̃ν (Ⅲ) - Dormiemus in confusione nostra,/ et operiet nos ignominia nostra :/ quoniam Domino Deo nostro peccavimus nos, et patres nostri,/ ab adolescentia nostra usque ad diem hanc :/ et non audivimus vocem Domini Dei nostri.] (Ⅳ) - 25 ׃3 נשכבה בבשתנו ותכסנו כלמתנו כי ליהוה אלהינו חטאנו אנחנו ואבותינו מנעורינו ועד היום הזה ולא שמענו בקול יהוה אלהינו ס (Ⅴ)
