O ye children of Benjamin, gather yourselves to flee out of the midst of Jerusalem, and blow the trumpet in Tekoa, and set up a sign of fire in Bethhaccerem: for evil appeareth out of the north, and great destruction.
- Fuyez, enfants de Benjamin, du milieu de Jérusalem, Sonnez de la trompette à Tekoa, Élevez un signal à Beth Hakkérem! Car on voit venir du septentrion le malheur Et un grand désastre. (Ⅱ) - ἐνισχύσατε υἱοὶ Βενιαμιν ἐκ μέσου τη̃ς Ιερουσαλημ καὶ ἐν Θεκουε σημάνατε σάλπιγγι καὶ ὑπὲρ Βαιθαχαρμα ἄρατε σημει̃ον ὅτι κακὰ ἐκκέκυφεν ἀπὸ βορρα̃ καὶ συντριβὴ μεγάλη γίνεται (Ⅲ) - Confortamini, filii Benjamin, in medio Jerusalem :/ et in Thecua clangite buccina,/ et super Bethacarem levate vexillum,/ quia malum visum est ab aquilone,/ et contritio magna./ (Ⅳ) - 1 ׃6 העזו בני בנימן[1] מקרב ירושלם ובתקוע תקעו שופר ועל בית הכרם שאו משאת כי רעה נשקפה מצפון ושבר גדול (Ⅴ)

I have likened the daughter of Zion to a comely and delicate woman.

The shepherds with their flocks shall come unto her; they shall pitch their tents against her round about; they shall feed every one in his place.
- Vers elle marchent des bergers avec leurs troupeaux; Ils dressent des tentes autour d'elle, Ils broutent chacun sa part. - (Ⅱ) - εἰς αὐτὴν ἥξουσιν ποιμένες καὶ τὰ ποίμνια αὐτω̃ν καὶ πήξουσιν ἐπ' αὐτὴν σκηνὰς κύκλω̨ καὶ ποιμανου̃σιν ἕκαστος τη̨̃ χειρὶ αὐτου̃ (Ⅲ) - Ad eam venient pastores et greges eorum ;/ fixerunt in ea tentoria in circuitu :/ pascet unusquisque eos qui sub manu sua sunt./ (Ⅳ) - 3 ׃6 אליה יבאו רעים ועדריהם תקעו עליה אהלים סביב רעו איש את ידו (Ⅴ)

Prepare ye war against her; arise, and let us go up at noon. Woe unto us! for the day goeth away, for the shadows of the evening are stretched out.
- Préparez-vous à l'attaquer! Allons! montons en plein midi!... Malheureusement pour nous, le jour baisse, Les ombres du soir s'allongent. (Ⅱ) - παρασκευάσασθε ἐπ' αὐτὴν εἰς πόλεμον ἀνάστητε καὶ ἀναβω̃μεν ἐπ' αὐτὴν μεσημβρίας οὐαὶ ἡμι̃ν ὅτι κέκλικεν ἡ ἡμέρα ὅτι ἐκλείπουσιν αἱ σκιαὶ τη̃ς ἑσπέρας (Ⅲ) - Sanctificate super eam bellum :/ consurgite, et ascendamus in meridie :/ væ nobis, quia declinavit dies ;/ quia longiores factæ sunt umbræ vesperi !/ (Ⅳ) - 4 ׃6 קדשו עליה מלחמה קומו ונעלה בצהרים אוי לנו כי פנה היום כי ינטו צללי ערב (Ⅴ)

Arise, and let us go by night, and let us destroy her palaces.

For thus hath the LORD of hosts said, Hew ye down trees, and cast a mount against Jerusalem: this is the city to be visited; she is wholly oppression in the midst of her.
- Car ainsi parle l'Éternel des armées: Abattez les arbres, Élevez des terrasses contre Jérusalem! C'est la ville qui doit être châtiée; Il n'y a qu'oppression au milieu d'elle. (Ⅱ) - ὅτι τάδε λέγει κύριος ἔκκοψον τὰ ξύλα αὐτη̃ς ἔκχεον ἐπὶ Ιερουσαλημ δύναμιν ὠ̃ πόλις ψευδής ὅλη καταδυναστεία ἐν αὐτη̨̃ (Ⅲ) - Quia hæc dicit Dominus exercituum :/ Cædite lignum ejus,/ et fundite circa Jerusalem aggerem./ Hæc est civitas visitationis :/ omnis calumnia in medio ejus./ (Ⅳ) - 6 ׃6 כי כה אמר יהוה צבאות כרתו עצה ושפכו על ירושלם סללה היא העיר הפקד כלה עשק בקרבה (Ⅴ)

As a fountain casteth out her waters, so she casteth out her wickedness: violence and spoil is heard in her; before me continually is grief and wounds.
- Comme un puits fait jaillir ses eaux, Ainsi elle fait jaillir sa méchanceté; Il n'est bruit en son sein que de violence et de ruine; Sans cesse à mes regards s'offrent la douleur et les plaies. (Ⅱ) - ὡς ψύχει λάκκος ὕδωρ οὕτως ψύχει κακία αὐτη̃ς ἀσέβεια καὶ ταλαιπωρία ἀκουσθήσεται ἐν αὐτη̨̃ ἐπὶ πρόσωπον αὐτη̃ς διὰ παντός πόνω̨ καὶ μάστιγι (Ⅲ) - Sicut frigidam fecit cisterna aquam suam,/ sic frigidam fecit malitiam suam./ Iniquitas et vastitas audietur in ea,/ coram me semper infirmitas et plaga./ (Ⅳ) - 7 ׃6 כהקיר *בור **ביר מימיה כן הקרה רעתה חמס ושד ישמע בה על פני תמיד חלי ומכה (Ⅴ)

Be thou instructed, O Jerusalem, lest my soul depart from thee; lest I make thee desolate, a land not inhabited.
- Reçois instruction, Jérusalem, De peur que je ne m'éloigne de toi, Que je ne fasse de toi un désert, Un pays inhabité! (Ⅱ) - παιδευθήση̨ Ιερουσαλημ μὴ ἀποστη̨̃ ἡ ψυχή μου ἀπὸ σου̃ μὴ ποιήσω σε ἄβατον γη̃ν ἥτις οὐ κατοικηθήσεται (Ⅲ) - Erudire, Jerusalem,/ ne forte recedat anima mea a te ;/ ne forte ponam te desertam,/ terram inhabitabilem./ (Ⅳ) - 8 ׃6 הוסרי ירושלם פן תקע נפשי ממך פן אשימך שממה ארץ לוא נושבה פ (Ⅴ)

Thus saith the LORD of hosts, They shall throughly glean the remnant of Israel as a vine: turn back thine hand as a grapegatherer into the baskets.
- Ainsi parle l'Éternel des armées: On grappillera comme une vigne les restes d'Israël. Portes-y de nouveau la main, Comme le vendangeur sur les ceps. (Ⅱ) - ὅτι τάδε λέγει κύριος καλαμα̃σθε καλαμα̃σθε ὡς ἄμπελον τὰ κατάλοιπα του̃ Ισραηλ ἐπιστρέψατε ὡς ὁ τρυγω̃ν ἐπὶ τὸν κάρταλλον αὐτου̃ (Ⅲ) - Hæc dicit Dominus exercituum :/ Usque ad racemum colligent quasi in vinea reliquias Israël./ Converte manum tuam quasi vindemiator ad cartallum./ (Ⅳ) - 9 ׃6 כה אמר יהוה צבאות עולל יעוללו כגפן שארית ישראל השב ידך כבוצר על סלסלות (Ⅴ)

To whom shall I speak, and give warning, that they may hear? behold, their ear is uncircumcised, and they cannot hearken: behold, the word of the LORD is unto them a reproach; they have no delight in it.
- A qui m'adresser, et qui prendre à témoin pour qu'on écoute? Voici, leur oreille est incirconcise, Et ils sont incapables d'être attentifs; Voici, la parole de l'Éternel est pour eux un opprobre, Ils n'y trouvent aucun plaisir. (Ⅱ) - πρὸς τίνα λαλήσω καὶ διαμαρτύρωμαι καὶ ἀκούσεται ἰδοὺ ἀπερίτμητα τὰ ὠ̃τα αὐτω̃ν καὶ οὐ δύνανται ἀκούειν ἰδοὺ τὸ ῥη̃μα κυρίου ἐγένετο αὐτοι̃ς εἰς ὀνειδισμόν οὐ μὴ βουληθω̃σιν αὐτὸ ἀκου̃σαι (Ⅲ) - Cui loquar, et quem contestabor ut audiat ?/ ecce incircumcisæ aures eorum,/ et audire non possunt :/ ecce verbum Domini factum est eis in opprobrium,/ et non suscipient illud./ (Ⅳ) - 10 ׃6 על מי אדברה ואעידה וישמעו הנה ערלה אזנם ולא יוכלו להקשיב הנה דבר יהוה היה להם לחרפה לא יחפצו בו (Ⅴ)

Therefore I am full of the fury of the LORD; I am weary with holding in: I will pour it out upon the children abroad, and upon the assembly of young men together: for even the husband with the wife shall be taken, the aged with him that is full of days.
- Je suis plein de la fureur de l'Éternel, je ne puis la contenir. Répands-la sur l'enfant dans la rue, Et sur les assemblées des jeunes gens. Car l'homme et la femme seront pris, Le vieillard et celui qui est chargé de jours. (Ⅱ) - καὶ τὸν θυμόν μου ἔπλησα καὶ ἐπέσχον καὶ οὐ συνετέλεσα αὐτούς ἐκχεω̃ ἐπὶ νήπια ἔξωθεν καὶ ἐπὶ συναγωγὴν νεανίσκων ἅμα ὅτι ἀνὴρ καὶ γυνὴ συλλημφθήσονται πρεσβύτερος μετὰ πλήρους ἡμερω̃ν (Ⅲ) - Idcirco furore Domini plenus sum ;/ laboravi sustinens./ Effunde super parvulum foris,/ et super consilium juvenum simul :/ vir enim cum muliere capietur ;/ senex cum pleno dierum./ (Ⅳ) - 11 ׃6 ואת חמת יהוה מלאתי נלאיתי הכיל שפך על עולל בחוץ ועל סוד בחורים יחדו כי גם איש עם אשה ילכדו זקן עם מלא ימים (Ⅴ)

And their houses shall be turned unto others, with their fields and wives together: for I will stretch out my hand upon the inhabitants of the land, saith the LORD.
- Leurs maisons passeront à d'autres, Les champs et les femmes aussi, Quand j'étendrai ma main sur les habitants du pays, Dit l'Éternel. (Ⅱ) - καὶ μεταστραφήσονται αἱ οἰκίαι αὐτω̃ν εἰς ἑτέρους ἀγροὶ καὶ αἱ γυναι̃κες αὐτω̃ν ἐπὶ τὸ αὐτό ὅτι ἐκτενω̃ τὴν χει̃ρά μου ἐπὶ τοὺς κατοικου̃ντας τὴν γη̃ν ταύτην λέγει κύριος (Ⅲ) - Et transibunt domus eorum ad alteros,/ agri et uxores pariter,/ quia extendam manum meam super habitantes terram, dicit Dominus :/ (Ⅳ) - 12 ׃6 ונסבו בתיהם לאחרים שדות ונשים יחדו כי אטה את ידי על ישבי הארץ נאם יהוה (Ⅴ)

For from the least of them even unto the greatest of them every one is given to covetousness; and from the prophet even unto the priest every one dealeth falsely.
- Car depuis le plus petit jusqu'au plus grand, Tous sont avides de gain; Depuis le prophète jusqu'au sacrificateur, Tous usent de tromperie. (Ⅱ) - ὅτι ἀπὸ μικρου̃ αὐτω̃ν καὶ ἕως μεγάλου πάντες συνετελέσαντο ἄνομα ἀπὸ ἱερέως καὶ ἕως ψευδοπροφήτου πάντες ἐποίησαν ψευδη̃ (Ⅲ) - a minore quippe usque ad majorem/ omnes avaritiæ student,/ et a propheta usque ad sacerdotem/ cuncti faciunt dolum./ (Ⅳ) - 13 ׃6 כי מקטנם ועד גדולם כלו בוצע בצע ומנביא ועד כהן כלו עשה שקר (Ⅴ)

They have healed also the hurt of the daughter of my people slightly, saying, Peace, peace; when there is no peace.
- Ils pansent à la légère la plaie de la fille de mon peuple: Paix! paix! disent-ils; Et il n'y a point de paix; (Ⅱ) - καὶ ἰω̃ντο τὸ σύντριμμα του̃ λαου̃ μου ἐξουθενου̃ντες καὶ λέγοντες εἰρήνη εἰρήνη καὶ που̃ ἐστιν εἰρήνη (Ⅲ) - Et curabant contritionem filiæ populi mei cum ignominia,/ dicentes : Pax, pax !/ et non erat pax./ (Ⅳ) - 14 ׃6 וירפאו את שבר עמי על נקלה לאמר שלום שלום ואין שלום (Ⅴ)

Were they ashamed when they had committed abomination? nay, they were not at all ashamed, neither could they blush: therefore they shall fall among them that fall: at the time that I visit them they shall be cast down, saith the LORD.
- Ils seront confus, car ils commettent des abominations; Ils ne rougissent pas, ils ne connaissent pas la honte; C'est pourquoi ils tomberont avec ceux qui tombent, Ils seront renversés quand je les châtierai, Dit l'Éternel. (Ⅱ) - κατη̨σχύνθησαν ὅτι ἐξελίποσαν καὶ οὐδ' ὡ̃ς καταισχυνόμενοι κατη̨σχύνθησαν καὶ τὴν ἀτιμίαν αὐτω̃ν οὐκ ἔγνωσαν διὰ του̃το πεσου̃νται ἐν τη̨̃ πτώσει αὐτω̃ν καὶ ἐν καιρω̨̃ ἐπισκοπη̃ς αὐτω̃ν ἀπολου̃νται εἰ̃πεν κύριος (Ⅲ) - Confusi sunt, quia abominationem fecerunt :/ quin potius confusione non sunt confusi,/ et erubescere nescierunt./ Quam ob rem cadent inter ruentes :/ in tempore visitationis suæ corruent, dicit Dominus./ (Ⅳ) - 15 ׃6 הבישו כי תועבה עשו גם בוש לא יבושו גם הכלים לא ידעו לכן יפלו בנפלים בעת פקדתים יכשלו אמר יהוה ס (Ⅴ)

Thus saith the LORD, Stand ye in the ways, and see, and ask for the old paths, where is the good way, and walk therein, and ye shall find rest for your souls. But they said, We will not walk therein.
- Ainsi parle l'Éternel: Placez-vous sur les chemins, regardez, Et demandez quels sont les anciens sentiers, Quelle est la bonne voie; marchez-y, Et vous trouverez le repos de vos âmes! Mais ils répondent: Nous n'y marcherons pas. (Ⅱ) - τάδε λέγει κύριος στη̃τε ἐπὶ ται̃ς ὁδοι̃ς καὶ ἴδετε καὶ ἐρωτήσατε τρίβους κυρίου αἰωνίους καὶ ἴδετε ποία ἐστὶν ἡ ὁδὸς ἡ ἀγαθή καὶ βαδίζετε ἐν αὐτη̨̃ καὶ εὑρήσετε ἁγνισμὸν ται̃ς ψυχαι̃ς ὑμω̃ν καὶ εἰ̃παν οὐ πορευσόμεθα (Ⅲ) - Hæc dicit Dominus :/ State super vias, et videte,/ et interrogate de semitis antiquis quæ sit via bona,/ et ambulate in ea :/ et invenietis refrigerium animabus vestris./ Et dixerunt : Non ambulabimus./ (Ⅳ) - 16 ׃6 כה אמר יהוה עמדו על דרכים וראו ושאלו לנתבות עולם אי זה דרך הטוב ולכו בה ומצאו מרגוע לנפשכם ויאמרו לא נלך (Ⅴ)

Also I set watchmen over you, saying, Hearken to the sound of the trumpet. But they said, We will not hearken.
- J'ai mis près de vous des sentinelles: Soyez attentifs au son de la trompette! Mais ils répondent: Nous n'y serons pas attentifs. (Ⅱ) - κατέστακα ἐφ' ὑμα̃ς σκοπούς ἀκούσατε τη̃ς φωνη̃ς τη̃ς σάλπιγγος καὶ εἰ̃παν οὐκ ἀκουσόμεθα (Ⅲ) - Et constitui super vos speculatores :/ Audite vocem tubæ./ Et dixerunt : Non audiemus./ (Ⅳ) - 17 ׃6 והקמתי עליכם צפים הקשיבו לקול שופר ויאמרו לא נקשיב (Ⅴ)

Therefore hear, ye nations, and know, O congregation, what is among them.
- C'est pourquoi écoutez, nations! Sachez ce qui leur arrivera, assemblée des peuples! (Ⅱ) - διὰ του̃το ἤκουσαν τὰ ἔθνη καὶ οἱ ποιμαίνοντες τὰ ποίμνια αὐτω̃ν (Ⅲ) - Ideo audite, gentes,/ et cognosce, congregatio,/ quanta ego faciam eis./ (Ⅳ) - 18 ׃6 לכן שמעו הגוים ודעי עדה את אשר בם (Ⅴ)

Hear, O earth: behold, I will bring evil upon this people, even the fruit of their thoughts, because they have not hearkened unto my words, nor to my law, but rejected it.
- Écoute, terre! Voici, je fais venir sur ce peuple le malheur, Fruit de ses pensées; Car ils n'ont point été attentifs à mes paroles, Ils ont méprisé ma loi. (Ⅱ) - ἄκουε γη̃ ἰδοὺ ἐγὼ ἐπάγω ἐπὶ τὸν λαὸν του̃τον κακά τὸν καρπὸν ἀποστροφη̃ς αὐτω̃ν ὅτι τω̃ν λόγων μου οὐ προσέσχον καὶ τὸν νόμον μου ἀπώσαντο (Ⅲ) - Audi, terra :/ ecce ego adducam mala super populum istum,/ fructum cogitationum ejus :/ quia verba mea non audierunt,/ et legem meam projecerunt./ (Ⅳ) - 19 ׃6 שמעי הארץ הנה אנכי מביא רעה אל העם הזה פרי מחשבותם כי על דברי לא הקשיבו ותורתי וימאסו בה (Ⅴ)

To what purpose cometh there to me incense from Sheba, and the sweet cane from a far country? your burnt offerings are not acceptable, nor your sacrifices sweet unto me.
- Qu'ai-je besoin de l'encens qui vient de Séba, Du roseau aromatique d'un pays lointain? Vos holocaustes ne me plaisent point, Et vos sacrifices ne me sont point agréables. (Ⅱ) - ἵνα τί μοι λίβανον ἐκ Σαβα φέρετε καὶ κιννάμωμον ἐκ γη̃ς μακρόθεν τὰ ὁλοκαυτώματα ὑμω̃ν οὔκ εἰσιν δεκτά καὶ αἱ θυσίαι ὑμω̃ν οὐχ ἥδυνάν μοι (Ⅲ) - Ut quid mihi thus de Saba affertis,/ et calamum suave olentem de terra longinqua ?/ Holocautomata vestra non sunt accepta,/ et victimæ vestræ non placuerunt mihi./ (Ⅳ) - 20 ׃6 למה זה לי לבונה משבא תבוא וקנה הטוב מארץ מרחק עלותיכם לא לרצון וזבחיכם לא ערבו לי ס (Ⅴ)

Therefore thus saith the LORD, Behold, I will lay stumblingblocks before this people, and the fathers and the sons together shall fall upon them; the neighbour and his friend shall perish.
- C'est pourquoi ainsi parle l'Éternel: Voici, je mettrai devant ce peuple des pierres d'achoppement, Contre lesquelles se heurteront ensemble pères et fils, Voisins et amis, et ils périront. (Ⅱ) - διὰ του̃το τάδε λέγει κύριος ἰδοὺ ἐγὼ δίδωμι ἐπὶ τὸν λαὸν του̃τον ἀσθένειαν καὶ ἀσθενήσουσιν ἐν αὐτη̨̃ πατέρες καὶ υἱοὶ ἅμα γείτων καὶ ὁ πλησίον αὐτου̃ ἀπολου̃νται (Ⅲ) - Propterea hæc dicit Dominus :/ Ecce ego dabo in populum istum ruinas :/ et ruent in eis patres et filii simul ;/ vicinus et proximus peribunt./ (Ⅳ) - 21 ׃6 לכן כה אמר יהוה הנני נתן אל העם הזה מכשלים וכשלו בם אבות ובנים יחדו שכן ורעו *יאבדו **ואבדו פ (Ⅴ)

Thus saith the LORD, Behold, a people cometh from the north country, and a great nation shall be raised from the sides of the earth.
- Ainsi parle l'Éternel: Voici, un peuple vient du pays du septentrion, Une grande nation se lève des extrémités de la terre. (Ⅱ) - τάδε λέγει κύριος ἰδοὺ λαὸς ἔρχεται ἀπὸ βορρα̃ καὶ ἔθνη ἐξεγερθήσεται ἀπ' ἐσχάτου τη̃ς γη̃ς (Ⅲ) - Hæc dicit Dominus :/ Ecce populus venit de terra aquilonis,/ et gens magna consurget a finibus terræ./ (Ⅳ) - 22 ׃6 כה אמר יהוה הנה עם בא מארץ צפון וגוי גדול יעור מירכתי ארץ (Ⅴ)

They shall lay hold on bow and spear; they are cruel, and have no mercy; their voice roareth like the sea; and they ride upon horses, set in array as men for war against thee, O daughter of Zion.
- Ils portent l'arc et le javelot; Ils sont cruels, sans miséricorde; Leur voix mugit comme la mer; Ils sont montés sur des chevaux, Prêts à combattre comme un seul homme, Contre toi, fille de Sion! (Ⅱ) - τόξον καὶ ζιβύνην κρατήσουσιν ἰταμός ἐστιν καὶ οὐκ ἐλεήσει φωνὴ αὐτου̃ ὡς θάλασσα κυμαίνουσα ἐφ' ἵπποις καὶ ἅρμασιν παρατάξεται ὡς πυ̃ρ εἰς πόλεμον πρὸς σέ θύγατερ Σιων (Ⅲ) - Sagittam et scutum arripiet :/ crudelis est et non miserebitur./ Vox ejus quasi mare sonabit :/ et super equos ascendent,/ præparati quasi vir ad prælium/ adversum te, filia Sion./ (Ⅳ) - 23 ׃6 קשת וכידון יחזיקו אכזרי הוא ולא ירחמו קולם כים יהמה ועל סוסים ירכבו ערוך כאיש למלחמה עליך בת ציון (Ⅴ)

We have heard the fame thereof: our hands wax feeble: anguish hath taken hold of us, and pain, as of a woman in travail.

Go not forth into the field, nor walk by the way; for the sword of the enemy and fear is on every side.

(Ⅱ) - μὴ ἐκπορεύεσθε εἰς ἀγρὸν καὶ ἐν ται̃ς ὁδοι̃ς μὴ βαδίζετε ὅτι ῥομφαία τω̃ν ἐχθρω̃ν παροικει̃ κυκλόθεν (Ⅲ) - Nolite exire ad agros,/ et in via ne ambuletis,/ quoniam gladius inimici,/ pavor in circuitu./ (Ⅳ) - 25 ׃6 אל *תצאי **תצאו השדה ובדרך אל *תלכי **תלכו כי חרב לאיב מגור מסביב (Ⅴ)

O daughter of my people, gird thee with sackcloth, and wallow thyself in ashes: make thee mourning, as for an only son, most bitter lamentation: for the spoiler shall suddenly come upon us.
- Fille de mon peuple, couvre-toi d'un sac et roule-toi dans la cendre, Prends le deuil comme pour un fils unique, Verse des larmes, des larmes amères! Car le dévastateur vient sur nous à l'improviste. (Ⅱ) - θύγατερ λαου̃ μου περίζωσαι σάκκον κατάπασαι ἐν σποδω̨̃ πένθος ἀγαπητου̃ ποίησαι σεαυτη̨̃ κοπετὸν οἰκτρόν ὅτι ἐξαίφνης ἥξει ταλαιπωρία ἐφ' ὑμα̃ς (Ⅲ) - Filia populi mei, accingere cilicio,/ et conspergere cinere :/ luctum unigeniti fac tibi,/ planctum amarum,/ quia repente veniet vastator super nos./ (Ⅳ) - 26 ׃6 בת עמי חגרי שק והתפלשי באפר אבל יחיד עשי לך מספד תמרורים כי פתאם יבא השדד עלינו (Ⅴ)

I have set thee for a tower and a fortress among my people, that thou mayest know and try their way.
- Je t'avais établi en observation parmi mon peuple, Comme une forteresse, Pour que tu connusses et sondasses leur voie. (Ⅱ) - δοκιμαστὴν δέδωκά σε ἐν λαοι̃ς δεδοκιμασμένοις καὶ γνώση̨ με ἐν τω̨̃ δοκιμάσαι με τὴν ὁδὸν αὐτω̃ν (Ⅲ) - Probatorem dedi te in populo meo robustum :/ et scies, et probabis viam eorum./ (Ⅳ) - 27 ׃6 בחון נתתיך בעמי מבצר ותדע ובחנת את דרכם (Ⅴ)

They are all grievous revolters, walking with slanders: they are brass and iron; they are all corrupters.

The bellows are burned, the lead is consumed of the fire; the founder melteth in vain: for the wicked are not plucked away.

(Ⅱ) - ἐξέλιπεν φυσητὴρ ἀπὸ πυρός ἐξέλιπεν μόλιβος εἰς κενὸν ἀργυροκόπος ἀργυροκοπει̃ πονηρία αὐτω̃ν οὐκ ἐτάκη (Ⅲ) - Defecit sufflatorium ;/ in igne consumptum est plumbum :/ frustra conflavit conflator,/ malitiæ enim eorum non sunt consumptæ./ (Ⅳ) - 29 ׃6 נחר מפח *מאשתם **מאש **תם עפרת לשוא צרף צרוף ורעים לא נתקו (Ⅴ)

Reprobate silver shall men call them, because the LORD hath rejected them.
