And Hannah prayed, and said, My heart rejoiceth in the LORD, mine horn is exalted in the LORD: my mouth is enlarged over mine enemies; because I rejoice in thy salvation.

There is none holy as the LORD: for there is none beside thee: neither is there any rock like our God.
- Nul n'est saint comme l'Éternel; Il n'y a point d'autre Dieu que toi; Il n'y a point de rocher comme notre Dieu. (Ⅱ) - ὅτι οὐκ ἔστιν ἅγιος ὡς κύριος καὶ οὐκ ἔστιν δίκαιος ὡς ὁ θεὸς ἡμω̃ν οὐκ ἔστιν ἅγιος πλὴν σου̃ (Ⅲ) - Non est sanctus, ut est Dominus,/ neque enim est alius extra te,/ et non est fortis sicut Deus noster./ (Ⅳ) - 2 ׃2 אין קדוש כיהוה כי אין בלתך ואין צור כאלהינו (Ⅴ)

Talk no more so exceeding proudly; let not arrogancy come out of your mouth: for the LORD is a God of knowledge, and by him actions are weighed.
- Ne parlez plus avec tant de hauteur; Que l'arrogance ne sorte plus de votre bouche; Car l'Éternel est un Dieu qui sait tout, Et par lui sont pesées toutes les actions. They that were full have hired out themselves for bread; and they that were hungry ceased: so that the barren hath born seven; and she that hath many children is waxed feeble.
- Ceux qui étaient rassasiés se louent pour du pain, Et ceux qui étaient affamés se reposent; Même la stérile enfante sept fois, Et celle qui avait beaucoup d'enfants est flétrie. The LORD killeth, and maketh alive: he bringeth down to the grave, and bringeth up.

He raiseth up the poor out of the dust, and lifteth up the beggar from the dunghill, to set them among princes, and to make them inherit the throne of glory: for the pillars of the earth are the LORD's, and he hath set the world upon them.
- De la poussière il retire le pauvre, Du fumier il relève l'indigent, Pour les faire asseoir avec les grands. Et il leur donne en partage un trône de gloire; Car à l'Éternel sont les colonnes de la terre, Et c'est sur elles qu'il a posé le monde. He will keep the feet of his saints, and the wicked shall be silent in darkness; for by strength shall no man prevail.
- Il gardera les pas de ses bien-aimés. Mais les méchants seront anéantis dans les ténèbres; Car l'homme ne triomphera point par la force. (Ⅱ) - διδοὺς εὐχὴν τω̨̃ εὐχομένω̨ καὶ εὐλόγησεν ἔτη δικαίου ὅτι οὐκ ἐν ἰσχύι δυνατὸς ἀνήρ (Ⅲ) - Pedes sanctorum suorum servabit,/ et impii in tenebris conticescent :/ quia non in fortitudine sua roborabitur vir./ (Ⅳ) - 9 ׃2 רגלי *חסידו **חסידיו ישמר ורשעים בחשך ידמו כי לא בכח יגבר איש (Ⅴ)

The adversaries of the LORD shall be broken to pieces; out of heaven shall he thunder upon them: the LORD shall judge the ends of the earth; and he shall give strength unto his king, and exalt the horn of his anointed.
- Les ennemis de l'Éternel trembleront; Du haut des cieux il lancera sur eux son tonnerre; L'Éternel jugera les extrémités de la terre. Il donnera la puissance à son roi, Et il relèvera la force de son oint. And Elkanah went to Ramah to his house. And the child did minister unto the LORD before Eli the priest.

(Ⅱ) - καὶ κατέλιπον αὐτὸν ἐκει̃ ἐνώπιον κυρίου καὶ ἀπη̃λθον εἰς Αρμαθαιμ καὶ τὸ παιδάριον ἠ̃ν λειτουργω̃ν τω̨̃ προσώπω̨ κυρίου ἐνώπιον Ηλι του̃ ἱερέως (Ⅲ) - Et abiit Elcana Ramatha, in domum suam : puer autem erat minister in conspectu Domini ante faciem Heli sacerdotis.\ (Ⅳ) - 11 ׃2 וילך אלקנה הרמתה על ביתו והנער היה משרת את יהוה את פני עלי הכהן (Ⅴ)

Now the sons of Eli were sons of Belial; they knew not the LORD.
- Les fils d'Éli étaient des hommes pervers, ils ne connaissaient point l'Éternel. (Ⅱ) - καὶ οἱ υἱοὶ Ηλι του̃ ἱερέως υἱοὶ λοιμοὶ οὐκ εἰδότες τὸν κύριον (Ⅲ) - Porro filii Heli, filii Belial, nescientes Dominum, (Ⅳ) - 12 ׃2 ובני עלי בני בליעל לא ידעו את יהוה (Ⅴ)

And the priest's custom with the people was, that, when any man offered sacrifice, the priest's servant came, while the flesh was in seething, with a fleshhook of three teeth in his hand;
- Et voici quelle était la manière d'agir de ces sacrificateurs à l'égard du peuple. Lorsque quelqu'un offrait un sacrifice, le serviteur du sacrificateur arrivait au moment où l'on faisait cuire la chair. Tenant à la main une fourchette à trois dents, (Ⅱ) - καὶ τὸ δικαίωμα του̃ ἱερέως παρὰ του̃ λαου̃ παντὸς του̃ θύοντος καὶ ἤρχετο τὸ παιδάριον του̃ ἱερέως ὡς ἂν ἡψήθη τὸ κρέας καὶ κρεάγρα τριόδους ἐν τη̨̃ χειρὶ αὐτου̃ (Ⅲ) - neque officium sacerdotum ad populum : sed quicumque immolasset victimam, veniebat puer sacerdotis, dum coquerentur carnes, et habebat fuscinulam tridentem in manu sua, (Ⅳ) - 13 ׃2 ומשפט הכהנים את העם כל איש זבח זבח ובא נער הכהן כבשל הבשר והמזלג שלש השנים בידו (Ⅴ)

And he struck it into the pan, or kettle, or caldron, or pot; all that the fleshhook brought up the priest took for himself. So they did in Shiloh unto all the Israelites that came thither.
- il piquait dans la chaudière, dans le chaudron, dans la marmite, ou dans le pot; et tout ce que la fourchette amenait, le sacrificateur le prenait pour lui. C'est ainsi qu'ils agissaient à l'égard de tous ceux d'Israël qui venaient là à Silo. (Ⅱ) - καὶ ἐπάταξεν αὐτὴν εἰς τὸν λέβητα τὸν μέγαν ἢ εἰς τὸ χαλκίον ἢ εἰς τὴν κύθραν πα̃ν ὃ ἐὰν ἀνέβη ἐν τη̨̃ κρεάγρα̨ ἐλάμβανεν ἑαυτω̨̃ ὁ ἱερεύς κατὰ τάδε ἐποίουν παντὶ Ισραηλ τοι̃ς ἐρχομένοις θυ̃σαι κυρίω̨ ἐν Σηλωμ (Ⅲ) - et mittebat eam in lebetem, vel in caldariam, aut in ollam, sive in cacabum : et omne quod levabat fuscinula, tollebat sacerdos sibi : sic faciebant universo Israëli venientium in Silo. (Ⅳ) - 14 ׃2 והכה בכיור או בדוד או בקלחת או בפרור כל אשר יעלה המזלג יקח הכהן בו ככה יעשו לכל ישראל הבאים שם בשלה (Ⅴ)

Also before they burnt the fat, the priest's servant came, and said to the man that sacrificed, Give flesh to roast for the priest; for he will not have sodden flesh of thee, but raw.
- Même avant qu'on fît brûler la graisse, le serviteur du sacrificateur arrivait et disait à celui qui offrait le sacrifice: Donne pour le sacrificateur de la chair à rôtir; il ne recevra de toi point de chair cuite, c'est de la chair crue qu'il veut. (Ⅱ) - καὶ πρὶν θυμιαθη̃ναι τὸ στέαρ ἤρχετο τὸ παιδάριον του̃ ἱερέως καὶ ἔλεγεν τω̨̃ ἀνδρὶ τω̨̃ θύοντι δὸς κρέας ὀπτη̃σαι τω̨̃ ἱερει̃ καὶ οὐ μὴ λάβω παρὰ σου̃ ἑφθὸν ἐκ του̃ λέβητος (Ⅲ) - Etiam antequam adolerent adipem, veniebat puer sacerdotis, et dicebat immolanti : Da mihi carnem, ut coquam sacerdoti : non enim accipiam a te carnem coctam, sed crudam. (Ⅳ) - 15 ׃2 גם בטרם יקטרון את החלב ובא נער הכהן ואמר לאיש הזבח תנה בשר לצלות לכהן ולא יקח ממך בשר מבשל כי אם חי (Ⅴ)

And if any man said unto him, Let them not fail to burn the fat presently, and then take as much as thy soul desireth; then he would answer him, Nay; but thou shalt give it me now: and if not, I will take it by force.
- Et si l'homme lui disait: Quand on aura brûlé la graisse, tu prendras ce qui te plaira, le serviteur répondait: Non! tu donneras maintenant, sinon je prends de force. (Ⅱ) - καὶ ἔλεγεν ὁ ἀνὴρ ὁ θύων θυμιαθήτω πρω̃τον ὡς καθήκει τὸ στέαρ καὶ λαβὲ σεαυτω̨̃ ἐκ πάντων ὡ̃ν ἐπιθυμει̃ ἡ ψυχή σου καὶ εἰ̃πεν οὐχί ὅτι νυ̃ν δώσεις καὶ ἐὰν μή λήμψομαι κραταιω̃ς (Ⅲ) - Dicebatque illi immolans : Incendatur primum juxta morem hodie adeps, et tolle tibi quantumcumque desiderat anima tua. Qui respondens aiebat ei : Nequaquam : nunc enim dabis, alioquin tollam vi. (Ⅳ) - 16 ׃2 ויאמר אליו האיש קטר יקטירון כיום החלב וקח לך כאשר תאוה נפשך ואמר *לו **לא כי עתה תתן ואם לא לקחתי בחזקה (Ⅴ)

Wherefore the sin of the young men was very great before the LORD: for men abhorred the offering of the LORD.
- Ces jeunes gens se rendaient coupables devant l'Éternel d'un très grand péché, parce qu'ils méprisaient les offrandes de l'Éternel. (Ⅱ) - καὶ ἠ̃ν ἡ ἁμαρτία τω̃ν παιδαρίων ἐνώπιον κυρίου μεγάλη σφόδρα ὅτι ἠθέτουν τὴν θυσίαν κυρίου (Ⅲ) - Erat ergo peccatum puerorum grande nimis coram Domino : quia retrahebant homines a sacrificio Domini.\ (Ⅳ) - 17 ׃2 ותהי חטאת הנערים גדולה מאד את פני יהוה כי נאצו האנשים את מנחת יהוה (Ⅴ)

But Samuel ministered before the LORD, being a child, girded with a linen ephod.
- Samuel faisait le service devant l'Éternel, et cet enfant était revêtu d'un éphod de lin. (Ⅱ) - καὶ Σαμουηλ ἠ̃ν λειτουργω̃ν ἐνώπιον κυρίου παιδάριον περιεζωσμένον εφουδ βαρ (Ⅲ) - Samuel autem ministrabat ante faciem Domini, puer accinctus ephod lineo. (Ⅳ) - 18 ׃2 ושמואל משרת את פני יהוה נער חגור אפוד בד (Ⅴ)

Moreover his mother made him a little coat, and brought it to him from year to year, when she came up with her husband to offer the yearly sacrifice.
- Sa mère lui faisait chaque année une petite robe, et la lui apportait en montant avec son mari pour offrir le sacrifice annuel. (Ⅱ) - καὶ διπλοΐδα μικρὰν ἐποίησεν αὐτω̨̃ ἡ μήτηρ αὐτου̃ καὶ ἀνέφερεν αὐτω̨̃ ἐξ ἡμερω̃ν εἰς ἡμέρας ἐν τω̨̃ ἀναβαίνειν αὐτὴν μετὰ του̃ ἀνδρὸς αὐτη̃ς θυ̃σαι τὴν θυσίαν τω̃ν ἡμερω̃ν (Ⅲ) - Et tunicam parvam faciebat ei mater sua, quam afferebat statutis diebus, ascendens cum viro suo, ut immolaret hostiam solemnem. (Ⅳ) - 19 ׃2 ומעיל קטן תעשה לו אמו והעלתה לו מימים ימימה בעלותה את אישה לזבח את זבח הימים (Ⅴ)

And Eli blessed Elkanah and his wife, and said, The LORD give thee seed of this woman for the loan which is lent to the LORD. And they went unto their own home.
- Éli bénit Elkana et sa femme, en disant: Que l'Éternel te fasse avoir des enfants de cette femme, pour remplacer celui qu'elle a prêté à l'Éternel! Et ils s'en retournèrent chez eux. (Ⅱ) - καὶ εὐλόγησεν Ηλι τὸν Ελκανα καὶ τὴν γυναι̃κα αὐτου̃ λέγων ἀποτείσαι σοι κύριος σπέρμα ἐκ τη̃ς γυναικὸς ταύτης ἀντὶ του̃ χρέους οὑ̃ ἔχρησας τω̨̃ κυρίω̨ καὶ ἀπη̃λθεν ὁ ἄνθρωπος εἰς τὸν τόπον αὐτου̃ (Ⅲ) - Et benedixit Heli Elcanæ et uxori ejus : dixitque ei : Reddat tibi Dominus semen de muliere hac, pro fœnore quod commodasti Domino. Et abierunt in locum suum. (Ⅳ) - 20 ׃2 וברך עלי את אלקנה ואת אשתו ואמר ישם יהוה לך זרע מן האשה הזאת תחת השאלה אשר שאל ליהוה והלכו למקמו (Ⅴ)

And the LORD visited Hannah, so that she conceived, and bare three sons and two daughters. And the child Samuel grew before the LORD.
- Lorsque l'Éternel eut visité Anne, elle devint enceinte, et elle enfanta trois fils et deux filles. Et le jeune Samuel grandissait auprès de l'Éternel. (Ⅱ) - καὶ ἐπεσκέψατο κύριος τὴν Ανναν καὶ ἔτεκεν ἔτι τρει̃ς υἱοὺς καὶ δύο θυγατέρας καὶ ἐμεγαλύνθη τὸ παιδάριον Σαμουηλ ἐνώπιον κυρίου (Ⅲ) - Visitavit ergo Dominus Annam, et concepit, et peperit tres filios, et duas filias : et magnificatus est puer Samuel apud Dominum.\ (Ⅳ) - 21 ׃2 כי פקד יהוה את חנה ותהר ותלד שלשה בנים ושתי בנות ויגדל הנער שמואל עם יהוה ס (Ⅴ)

Now Eli was very old, and heard all that his sons did unto all Israel; and how they lay with the women that assembled at the door of the tabernacle of the congregation.
- Éli était fort âgé et il apprit comment ses fils agissaient à l'égard de tout Israël; il apprit aussi qu'ils couchaient avec les femmes qui s'assemblaient à l'entrée de la tente d'assignation. (Ⅱ) - καὶ Ηλι πρεσβύτης σφόδρα καὶ ἤκουσεν ἃ ἐποίουν οἱ υἱοὶ αὐτου̃ τοι̃ς υἱοι̃ς Ισραηλ (Ⅲ) - Heli autem erat senex valde, et audivit omnia quæ faciebant filii sui universo Israëli, et quomodo dormiebant cum mulieribus quæ observabant ad ostium tabernaculi : (Ⅳ) - 22 ׃2 ועלי זקן מאד ושמע את כל אשר יעשון בניו לכל ישראל ואת אשר ישכבון את הנשים הצבאות פתח אהל מועד (Ⅴ)

And he said unto them, Why do ye such things? for I hear of your evil dealings by all this people.
- Il leur dit: Pourquoi faites-vous de telles choses? car j'apprends de tout le peuple vos mauvaises actions. (Ⅱ) - καὶ εἰ̃πεν αὐτοι̃ς ἵνα τί ποιει̃τε κατὰ τὸ ῥη̃μα του̃το ὃ ἐγὼ ἀκούω ἐκ στόματος παντὸς του̃ λαου̃ κυρίου (Ⅲ) - et dixit eis : Quare facitis res hujuscemodi quas ego audio, res pessimas, ab omni populo ? (Ⅳ) - 23 ׃2 ויאמר להם למה תעשון כדברים האלה אשר אנכי שמע את דבריכם רעים מאת כל העם אלה (Ⅴ)

Nay, my sons; for it is no good report that I hear: ye make the LORD's people to transgress.
- Non, mes enfants, ce que j'entends dire n'est pas bon; vous faites pécher le peuple de l'Éternel. (Ⅱ) - μή τέκνα ὅτι οὐκ ἀγαθὴ ἡ ἀκοή ἣν ἐγὼ ἀκούω μὴ ποιει̃τε οὕτως ὅτι οὐκ ἀγαθαὶ αἱ ἀκοαί ἃς ἐγὼ ἀκούω του̃ μὴ δουλεύειν λαὸν θεω̨̃ (Ⅲ) - Nolite, filii mei : non enim est bona fama quam ego audio, ut transgredi faciatis populum Domini. (Ⅳ) - 24 ׃2 אל בני כי לוא טובה השמעה אשר אנכי שמע מעברים עם יהוה (Ⅴ)

If one man sin against another, the judge shall judge him: but if a man sin against the LORD, who shall entreat for him? Notwithstanding they hearkened not unto the voice of their father, because the LORD would slay them.
- Si un homme pèche contre un autre homme, Dieu le jugera; mais s'il pèche contre l'Éternel, qui intercédera pour lui? Et ils n'écoutèrent point la voix de leur père, car l'Éternel voulait les faire mourir. (Ⅱ) - ἐὰν ἁμαρτάνων ἁμάρτη̨ ἀνὴρ εἰς ἄνδρα καὶ προσεύξονται ὑπὲρ αὐτου̃ πρὸς κύριον καὶ ἐὰν τω̨̃ κυρίω̨ ἁμάρτη̨ τίς προσεύξεται ὑπὲρ αὐτου̃ καὶ οὐκ ἤκουον τη̃ς φωνη̃ς του̃ πατρὸς αὐτω̃ν ὅτι βουλόμενος ἐβούλετο κύριος διαφθει̃ραι αὐτούς (Ⅲ) - Si peccaverit vir in virum, placari ei potest Deus : si autem in Dominum peccaverit vir, quis orabit pro eo ? Et non audierunt vocem patris sui : quia voluit Dominus occidere eos. (Ⅳ) - 25 ׃2 אם יחטא איש לאיש ופללו אלהים ואם ליהוה יחטא איש מי יתפלל לו ולא ישמעו לקול אביהם כי חפץ יהוה להמיתם (Ⅴ)

And the child Samuel grew on, and was in favor both with the LORD, and also with men.
- Le jeune Samuel continuait à grandir, et il était agréable à l'Éternel et aux hommes. (Ⅱ) - καὶ τὸ παιδάριον Σαμουηλ ἐπορεύετο καὶ ἐμεγαλύνετο καὶ ἀγαθὸν καὶ μετὰ κυρίου καὶ μετὰ ἀνθρώπων (Ⅲ) - Puer autem Samuel proficiebat atque crescebat, et placebat tam Domino quam hominibus.\ (Ⅳ) - 26 ׃2 והנער שמואל הלך וגדל וטוב גם עם יהוה וגם עם אנשים ס (Ⅴ)

And there came a man of God unto Eli, and said unto him, Thus saith the LORD, Did I plainly appear unto the house of thy father, when they were in Egypt in Pharaoh's house?
- Un homme de Dieu vint auprès d'Éli, et lui dit: Ainsi parle l'Éternel: Ne me suis-je pas révélé à la maison de ton père, lorsqu'ils étaient en Égypte dans la maison de Pharaon? (Ⅱ) - καὶ ἠ̃λθεν ἄνθρωπος θεου̃ πρὸς Ηλι καὶ εἰ̃πεν τάδε λέγει κύριος ἀποκαλυφθεὶς ἀπεκαλύφθην πρὸς οἰ̃κον πατρός σου ὄντων αὐτω̃ν ἐν γη̨̃ Αἰγύπτω̨ δούλων τω̨̃ οἴκω̨ Φαραω (Ⅲ) - Venit autem vir Dei ad Heli, et ait ad eum : Hæc dicit Dominus : Numquid non aperte revelatus sum domui patris tui, cum essent in Ægypto in domo Pharaonis ? (Ⅳ) - 27 ׃2 ויבא איש אלהים אל עלי ויאמר אליו כה אמר יהוה הנגלה נגליתי אל בית אביך בהיותם במצרים לבית פרעה (Ⅴ)

And did I choose him out of all the tribes of Israel to be my priest, to offer upon mine altar, to burn incense, to wear an ephod before me? and did I give unto the house of thy father all the offerings made by fire of the children of Israel?
- Je l'ai choisie parmi toutes les tribus d'Israël pour être à mon service dans le sacerdoce, pour monter à mon autel, pour brûler le parfum, pour porter l'éphod devant moi, et j'ai donné à la maison de ton père tous les sacrifices consumés par le feu et offerts par les enfants d'Israël. (Ⅱ) - καὶ ἐξελεξάμην τὸν οἰ̃κον του̃ πατρός σου ἐκ πάντων τω̃ν σκήπτρων Ισραηλ ἐμοὶ ἱερατεύειν καὶ ἀναβαίνειν ἐπὶ θυσιαστήριόν μου καὶ θυμια̃ν θυμίαμα καὶ αἴρειν εφουδ καὶ ἔδωκα τω̨̃ οἴκω̨ του̃ πατρός σου τὰ πάντα του̃ πυρὸς υἱω̃ν Ισραηλ εἰς βρω̃σιν (Ⅲ) - Et elegi eum ex omnibus tribubus Israël mihi in sacerdotem, ut ascenderet ad altare meum, et adoleret mihi incensum, et portaret ephod coram me : et dedi domui patris tui omnia de sacrificiis filiorum Israël. (Ⅳ) - 28 ׃2 ובחר אתו מכל שבטי ישראל לי לכהן לעלות על מזבחי להקטיר קטרת לשאת אפוד לפני ואתנה לבית אביך את כל אשי בני ישראל (Ⅴ)

Wherefore kick ye at my sacrifice and at mine offering, which I have commanded in my habitation; and honorest thy sons above me, to make yourselves fat with the chiefest of all the offerings of Israel my people?
- Pourquoi foulez-vous aux pieds mes sacrifices et mes offrandes, que j'ai ordonné de faire dans ma demeure? Et d'où vient que tu honores tes fils plus que moi, afin de vous engraisser des prémices de toutes les offrandes d'Israël, mon peuple? (Ⅱ) - καὶ ἵνα τί ἐπέβλεψας ἐπὶ τὸ θυμίαμά μου καὶ εἰς τὴν θυσίαν μου ἀναιδει̃ ὀφθαλμω̨̃ καὶ ἐδόξασας τοὺς υἱούς σου ὑπὲρ ἐμὲ ἐνευλογει̃σθαι ἀπαρχη̃ς πάσης θυσίας Ισραηλ ἔμπροσθέν μου (Ⅲ) - Quare calce abjecistis victimam meam, et munera mea quæ præcepi ut offerrentur in templo : et magis honorasti filios tuos quam me, ut comederetis primitias omnis sacrificii Israël populi mei ? (Ⅳ) - 29 ׃2 למה תבעטו בזבחי ובמנחתי אשר צויתי מעון ותכבד את בניך ממני להבריאכם מראשית כל מנחת ישראל לעמי (Ⅴ)

Wherefore the LORD God of Israel saith, I said indeed that thy house, and the house of thy father, should walk before me for ever: but now the LORD saith, Be it far from me; for them that honor me I will honor, and they that despise me shall be lightly esteemed.
- C'est pourquoi voici ce que dit l'Éternel, le Dieu d'Israël: J'avais déclaré que ta maison et la maison de ton père marcheraient devant moi à perpétuité. Et maintenant, dit l'Éternel, loin de moi! Car j'honorerai celui qui m'honore, mais ceux qui me méprisent seront méprisés. (Ⅱ) - διὰ του̃το τάδε εἰ̃πεν κύριος ὁ θεὸς Ισραηλ εἰ̃πα ὁ οἰ̃κός σου καὶ ὁ οἰ̃κος του̃ πατρός σου διελεύσεται ἐνώπιόν μου ἕως αἰω̃νος καὶ νυ̃ν φησιν κύριος μηδαμω̃ς ἐμοί ὅτι ἀλλ' ἢ τοὺς δοξάζοντάς με δοξάσω καὶ ὁ ἐξουθενω̃ν με ἀτιμωθήσεται (Ⅲ) - Propterea ait Dominus Deus Israël : Loquens locutus sum, ut domus tua, et domus patris tui, ministraret in conspectu meo usque in sempiternum. Nunc autem dicit Dominus : Absit hoc a me : sed quicumque glorificaverit me, glorificabo eum : qui autem contemnunt me, erunt ignobiles. (Ⅳ) - 30 ׃2 לכן נאם יהוה אלהי ישראל אמור אמרתי ביתך ובית אביך יתהלכו לפני עד עולם ועתה נאם יהוה חלילה לי כי מכבדי אכבד ובזי יקלו (Ⅴ)

Behold, the days come, that I will cut off thine arm, and the arm of thy father's house, that there shall not be an old man in thine house.
- Voici, le temps arrive où je retrancherai ton bras et le bras de la maison de ton père, en sorte qu'il n'y aura plus de vieillard dans ta maison. (Ⅱ) - ἰδοὺ ἡμέραι ἔρχονται καὶ ἐξολεθρεύσω τὸ σπέρμα σου καὶ τὸ σπέρμα οἴκου πατρός σου (Ⅲ) - Ecce dies veniunt, et præcidam brachium tuum, et brachium domus patris tui, ut non sit senex in domo tua. (Ⅳ) - 31 ׃2 הנה ימים באים וגדעתי את זרעך ואת זרע בית אביך מהיות זקן בביתך (Ⅴ)

And thou shalt see an enemy in my habitation, in all the wealth which God shall give Israel: and there shall not be an old man in thine house for ever.
- Tu verras un adversaire dans ma demeure, tandis qu'Israël sera comblé de biens par l'Éternel; et il n'y aura plus jamais de vieillard dans ta maison. (Ⅱ) - καὶ οὐκ ἔσται σου πρεσβύτης ἐν οἴκω̨ μου πάσας τὰς ἡμέρας (Ⅲ) - Et videbis æmulum tuum in templo, in universis prosperis Israël : et non erit senex in domo tua omnibus diebus. (Ⅳ) - 32 ׃2 והבטת צר מעון בכל אשר ייטיב את ישראל ולא יהיה זקן בביתך כל הימים (Ⅴ)

And the man of thine, whom I shall not cut off from mine altar, shall be to consume thine eyes, and to grieve thine heart: and all the increase of thine house shall die in the flower of their age.
- Je laisserai subsister auprès de mon autel l'un des tiens, afin de consumer tes yeux et d'attrister ton âme; mais tous ceux de ta maison mourront dans la force de l'âge. (Ⅱ) - καὶ ἄνδρα οὐκ ἐξολεθρεύσω σοι ἀπὸ του̃ θυσιαστηρίου μου ἐκλιπει̃ν τοὺς ὀφθαλμοὺς αὐτου̃ καὶ καταρρει̃ν τὴν ψυχὴν αὐτου̃ καὶ πα̃ς περισσεύων οἴκου σου πεσου̃νται ἐν ῥομφαία̨ ἀνδρω̃ν (Ⅲ) - Verumtamen non auferam penitus virum ex te ab altari meo : sed ut deficiant oculi tui, et tabescat anima tua : et pars magna domus tuæ morietur cum ad virilem ætatem venerit. (Ⅳ) - 33 ׃2 ואיש לא אכרית לך מעם מזבחי לכלות את עיניך ולאדיב את נפשך וכל מרבית ביתך ימותו אנשים (Ⅴ)

And this shall be a sign unto thee, that shall come upon thy two sons, on Hophni and Phinehas; in one day they shall die both of them.
- Et tu auras pour signe ce qui arrivera à tes deux fils, Hophni et Phinées; ils mourront tous les deux le même jour. (Ⅱ) - καὶ του̃τό σοι τὸ σημει̃ον ὃ ἥξει ἐπὶ τοὺς δύο υἱούς σου τούτους Οφνι καὶ Φινεες ἐν ἡμέρα̨ μια̨̃ ἀποθανου̃νται ἀμφότεροι (Ⅲ) - Hoc autem erit tibi signum, quod venturum est duobus filiis tuis, Ophni et Phinees : in die uno morientur ambo. (Ⅳ) - 34 ׃2 וזה לך האות אשר יבא אל שני בניך אל חפני ופינחס ביום אחד ימותו שניהם (Ⅴ)

And I will raise me up a faithful priest, that shall do according to that which is in mine heart and in my mind: and I will build him a sure house; and he shall walk before mine anointed for ever.
- Je m'établirai un sacrificateur fidèle, qui agira selon mon coeur et selon mon âme; je lui bâtirai une maison stable, et il marchera toujours devant mon oint. (Ⅱ) - καὶ ἀναστήσω ἐμαυτω̨̃ ἱερέα πιστόν ὃς πάντα τὰ ἐν τη̨̃ καρδία̨ μου καὶ τὰ ἐν τη̨̃ ψυχη̨̃ μου ποιήσει καὶ οἰκοδομήσω αὐτω̨̃ οἰ̃κον πιστόν καὶ διελεύσεται ἐνώπιον χριστου̃ μου πάσας τὰς ἡμέρας (Ⅲ) - Et suscitabo mihi sacerdotem fidelem, qui juxta cor meum et animam meam faciet : et ædificabo ei domum fidelem, et ambulabit coram christo meo cunctis diebus. (Ⅳ) - 35 ׃2 והקימתי לי כהן נאמן כאשר בלבבי ובנפשי יעשה ובניתי לו בית נאמן והתהלך[v] לפני משיחי כל הימים (Ⅴ)

And it shall come to pass, that every one that is left in thine house shall come and crouch to him for a piece of silver and a morsel of bread, and shall say, Put me, I pray thee, into one of the priests' offices, that I may eat a piece of bread.
- Et quiconque restera de ta maison viendra se prosterner devant lui pour avoir une pièce d'argent et un morceau de pain, et dira: Attache-moi, je te prie, à l'une des fonctions du sacerdoce, afin que j'aie un morceau de pain à manger. (Ⅱ) - καὶ ἔσται ὁ περισσεύων ἐν οἴκω̨ σου ἥξει προσκυνει̃ν αὐτω̨̃ ὀβολου̃ ἀργυρίου λέγων παράρριψόν με ἐπὶ μίαν τω̃ν ἱερατειω̃ν σου φαγει̃ν ἄρτον (Ⅲ) - Futurum est autem, ut quicumque remanserit in domo tua, veniat ut oretur pro eo, et offerat nummum argenteum, et tortam panis, dicatque : Dimitte me, obsecro, ad unam partem sacerdotalem, ut comedam buccellam panis. (Ⅳ) - 36 ׃2 והיה כל הנותר בביתך יבוא להשתחות לו לאגורת כסף וככר לחם ואמר ספחני נא אל אחת הכהנות לאכל פת לחם ס (Ⅴ)
