And David said in his heart, I shall now perish one day by the hand of Saul: there is nothing better for me than that I should speedily escape into the land of the Philistines; and Saul shall despair of me, to seek me any more in any coast of Israel: so shall I escape out of his hand.
- David dit en lui-même: je périrai un jour par la main de Saül; il n'y a rien de mieux pour moi que de me réfugier au pays des Philistins, afin que Saül renonce à me chercher encore dans tout le territoire d'Israël; ainsi j'échapperai à sa main. (Ⅱ) - καὶ εἰ̃πεν Δαυιδ ἐν τη̨̃ καρδία̨ αὐτου̃ λέγων νυ̃ν προστεθήσομαι ἐν ἡμέρα̨ μια̨̃ εἰς χει̃ρας Σαουλ καὶ οὐκ ἔστιν μοι ἀγαθόν ἐὰν μὴ σωθω̃ εἰς γη̃ν ἀλλοφύλων καὶ ἀνη̨̃ Σαουλ του̃ ζητει̃ν με εἰς πα̃ν ὅριον Ισραηλ καὶ σωθήσομαι ἐκ χειρὸς αὐτου̃ (Ⅲ) - Et ait David in corde suo : Aliquando incidam una die in manus Saul : nonne melius est ut fugiam, et salver in terra Philisthinorum, ut desperet Saul, cessetque me quærere in cunctis finibus Israël ? fugiam ergo manus ejus. (Ⅳ) - 1 ׃27 ויאמר דוד אל לבו עתה אספה יום אחד ביד שאול אין לי טוב כי המלט אמלט אל ארץ פלשתים ונואש ממני שאול לבקשני עוד בכל גבול ישראל ונמלטתי מידו (Ⅴ)

And David arose, and he passed over with the six hundred men that were with him unto Achish, the son of Maoch, king of Gath.
- Et David se leva, lui et les six cents hommes qui étaient avec lui, et ils passèrent chez Akisch, fils de Maoc, roi de Gath. (Ⅱ) - καὶ ἀνέστη Δαυιδ καὶ οἱ τετρακόσιοι ἄνδρες μετ' αὐτου̃ καὶ ἐπορεύθη πρὸς Αγχους υἱὸν Αμμαχ βασιλέα Γεθ (Ⅲ) - Et surrexit David, et abiit ipse, et sexcenti viri cum eo, ad Achis filium Maoch regem Geth. (Ⅳ) - 2 ׃27 ויקם דוד ויעבר הוא ושש מאות איש אשר עמו אל אכיש בן מעוך מלך גת (Ⅴ)

And David dwelt with Achish at Gath, he and his men, every man with his household, even David with his two wives, Ahinoam the Jezreelitess, and Abigail the Carmelitess, Nabal's wife.
- David et ses gens restèrent à Gath auprès d'Akisch; ils avaient chacun leur famille, et David avait ses deux femmes, Achinoam de Jizreel, et Abigaïl de Carmel, femme de Nabal. (Ⅱ) - καὶ ἐκάθισεν Δαυιδ μετὰ Αγχους ἐν Γεθ αὐτὸς καὶ οἱ ἄνδρες αὐτου̃ ἕκαστος καὶ ὁ οἰ̃κος αὐτου̃ καὶ Δαυιδ καὶ ἀμφότεραι αἱ γυναι̃κες αὐτου̃ Αχινααμ ἡ Ιεζραηλι̃τις καὶ Αβιγαια ἡ γυνὴ Ναβαλ του̃ Καρμηλίου (Ⅲ) - Et habitavit David cum Achis in Geth, ipse et viri ejus : vir et domus ejus : et David, et duæ uxores ejus, Achinoam Jezrahelitis, et Abigail uxor Nabal Carmeli. (Ⅳ) - 3 ׃27 וישב דוד עם אכיש בגת הוא ואנשיו איש וביתו דוד ושתי נשיו אחינעם היזרעאלית ואביגיל אשת נבל הכרמלית (Ⅴ)

And it was told Saul that David was fled to Gath: and he sought no more again for him.
- Saül, informé que David s'était enfui à Gath, cessa de le chercher. (Ⅱ) - καὶ ἀνηγγέλη τω̨̃ Σαουλ ὅτι πέφευγεν Δαυιδ εἰς Γεθ καὶ οὐ προσέθετο ἔτι ζητει̃ν αὐτόν (Ⅲ) - Et nuntiatum est Sauli quod fugisset David in Geth, et non addidit ultra quærere eum. (Ⅳ) - 4 ׃27 ויגד לשאול כי ברח דוד גת ולא *יוסף **יסף עוד לבקשו ס (Ⅴ)

And David said unto Achish, If I have now found grace in thine eyes, let them give me a place in some town in the country, that I may dwell there: for why should thy servant dwell in the royal city with thee?
- David dit à Akisch: Si j'ai trouvé grâce à tes yeux, qu'on me donne dans l'une des villes du pays un lieu où je puisse demeurer; car pourquoi ton serviteur habiterait-il avec toi dans la ville royale? (Ⅱ) - καὶ εἰ̃πεν Δαυιδ πρὸς Αγχους εἰ δὴ εὕρηκεν ὁ δου̃λός σου χάριν ἐν ὀφθαλμοι̃ς σου δότωσαν δή μοι τόπον ἐν μια̨̃ τω̃ν πόλεων τω̃ν κατ' ἀγρὸν καὶ καθήσομαι ἐκει̃ καὶ ἵνα τί κάθηται ὁ δου̃λός σου ἐν πόλει βασιλευομένη̨ μετὰ σου̃ (Ⅲ) - Dixit autem David ad Achis : Si inveni gratiam in oculis tuis, detur mihi locus in una urbium regionis hujus, ut habitem ibi : cur enim manet servus tuus in civitate regis tecum ? (Ⅳ) - 5 ׃27 ויאמר דוד אל אכיש אם נא מצאתי חן בעיניך יתנו לי מקום באחת ערי השדה ואשבה שם ולמה ישב עבדך בעיר הממלכה עמך (Ⅴ)

Then Achish gave him Ziklag that day: wherefore Ziklag pertaineth unto the kings of Judah unto this day.
- Et ce même jour Akisch lui donna Tsiklag. C'est pourquoi Tsiklag a appartenu aux rois de Juda jusqu'à ce jour. (Ⅱ) - καὶ ἔδωκεν αὐτω̨̃ ἐν τη̨̃ ἡμέρα̨ ἐκείνη̨ τὴν Σεκελακ διὰ του̃το ἐγενήθη Σεκελακ τω̨̃ βασιλει̃ τη̃ς Ιουδαίας ἕως τη̃ς ἡμέρας ταύτης (Ⅲ) - Dedit itaque ei Achis in die illa Siceleg : propter quam causam facta est Siceleg regum Juda usque in diem hanc. (Ⅳ) - 6 ׃27 ויתן לו אכיש ביום ההוא את צקלג לכן היתה צקלג למלכי יהודה עד היום הזה פ (Ⅴ)

And the time that David dwelt in the country of the Philistines was a full year and four months.
- Le temps que David demeura dans le pays des Philistins fut d'un an et quatre mois. (Ⅱ) - καὶ ἐγενήθη ὁ ἀριθμὸς τω̃ν ἡμερω̃ν ὡ̃ν ἐκάθισεν Δαυιδ ἐν ἀγρω̨̃ τω̃ν ἀλλοφύλων τέσσαρας μη̃νας (Ⅲ) - Fuit autem numerus dierum quibus habitavit David in regione Philisthinorum, quatuor mensium.\ (Ⅳ) - 7 ׃27 ויהי מספר הימים אשר ישב דוד בשדה פלשתים ימים וארבעה חדשים (Ⅴ)

And David and his men went up, and invaded the Geshurites, and the Gezrites, and the Amalekites: for those nations were of old the inhabitants of the land, as thou goest to Shur, even unto the land of Egypt.
- David et ses gens montaient et faisaient des incursions chez les Gueschuriens, les Guirziens et les Amalécites; car ces nations habitaient dès les temps anciens la contrée, du côté de Schur et jusqu'au pays d'Égypte. (Ⅱ) - καὶ ἀνέβαινεν Δαυιδ καὶ οἱ ἄνδρες αὐτου̃ καὶ ἐπετίθεντο ἐπὶ πάντα τὸν Γεσιρι καὶ ἐπὶ τὸν Αμαληκίτην καὶ ἰδοὺ ἡ γη̃ κατω̨κει̃το ἀπὸ ἀνηκόντων ἡ ἀπὸ Γελαμψουρ τετειχισμένων καὶ ἕως γη̃ς Αἰγύπτου (Ⅲ) - Et ascendit David et viri ejus, et agebant prædas de Gessuri, et de Gerzi, et de Amalecitis : hi enim pagi habitabantur in terra antiquitus, euntibus Sur usque ad terram Ægypti. (Ⅳ) - 8 ׃27 ויעל דוד ואנשיו ויפשטו אל הגשורי *והגרזי **והגזרי והעמלקי כי הנה ישבות הארץ אשר מעולם בואך שורה ועד ארץ מצרים (Ⅴ)

And David smote the land, and left neither man nor woman alive, and took away the sheep, and the oxen, and the asses, and the camels, and the apparel, and returned, and came to Achish.
- David ravageait cette contrée; il ne laissait en vie ni homme ni femme, et il enlevait les brebis, les boeufs, les ânes, les chameaux, les vêtements, puis s'en retournait et allait chez Akisch. (Ⅱ) - καὶ ἔτυπτε τὴν γη̃ν καὶ οὐκ ἐζωογόνει ἄνδρα καὶ γυναι̃κα καὶ ἐλάμβανεν ποίμνια καὶ βουκόλια καὶ ὄνους καὶ καμήλους καὶ ἱματισμόν καὶ ἀνέστρεψαν καὶ ἤρχοντο πρὸς Αγχους (Ⅲ) - Et percutiebat David omnem terram, nec relinquebat viventem virum et mulierem : tollensque oves, et boves, et asinos, et camelos, et vestes, revertebatur, et veniebat ad Achis. (Ⅳ) - 9 ׃27 והכה דוד את הארץ ולא יחיה איש ואשה ולקח צאן ובקר וחמרים וגמלים ובגדים וישב ויבא אל אכיש (Ⅴ)

And Achish said, Whither have ye made a road to day? And David said, Against the south of Judah, and against the south of the Jerahmeelites, and against the south of the Kenites.
- Akisch disait: Où avez-vous fait aujourd'hui vos courses? Et David répondait: Vers le midi de Juda, vers le midi des Jerachmeélites et vers le midi des Kéniens. (Ⅱ) - καὶ εἰ̃πεν Αγχους πρὸς Δαυιδ ἐπὶ τίνα ἐπέθεσθε σήμερον καὶ εἰ̃πεν Δαυιδ πρὸς Αγχους κατὰ νότον τη̃ς Ιουδαίας καὶ κατὰ νότον Ιεσμεγα καὶ κατὰ νότον του̃ Κενεζι (Ⅲ) - Dicebat autem ei Achis : In quem irruisti hodie ? Respondebat David : Contra meridiem Judæ, et contra meridiem Jerameel, et contra meridiem Ceni. (Ⅳ) - 10 ׃27 ויאמר אכיש אל פשטתם היום ויאמר דוד על נגב יהודה ועל נגב הירחמאלי ואל נגב הקיני (Ⅴ)

And David saved neither man nor woman alive, to bring tidings to Gath, saying, Lest they should tell on us, saying, So did David, and so will be his manner all the while he dwelleth in the country of the Philistines.
- David ne laissait en vie ni homme ni femme, pour les amener à Gath; car, pensait-il, ils pourraient parler contre nous et dire: Ainsi a fait David. Et ce fut là sa manière d'agir tout le temps qu'il demeura dans le pays des Philistins. (Ⅱ) - καὶ ἄνδρα καὶ γυναι̃κα οὐκ ἐζωογόνησεν του̃ εἰσαγαγει̃ν εἰς Γεθ λέγων μὴ ἀναγγείλωσιν εἰς Γεθ καθ' ἡμω̃ν λέγοντες τάδε Δαυιδ ποιει̃ καὶ τόδε τὸ δικαίωμα αὐτου̃ πάσας τὰς ἡμέρας ἃς ἐκάθητο Δαυιδ ἐν ἀγρω̨̃ τω̃ν ἀλλοφύλων (Ⅲ) - Virum et mulierem non vivificabat David, nec adducebat in Geth, dicens : Ne forte loquantur adversum nos : Hæc fecit David : et hoc erat decretum illi omnibus diebus quibus habitavit in regione Philisthinorum. (Ⅳ) - 11 ׃27 ואיש ואשה לא יחיה דוד להביא גת לאמר פן יגדו עלינו לאמר כה עשה דוד וכה משפטו כל הימים אשר ישב בשדה פלשתים (Ⅴ)

And Achish believed David, saying, He hath made his people Israel utterly to abhor him; therefore he shall be my servant for ever.
- Akisch se fiait à David, et il disait: Il se rend odieux à Israël, son peuple, et il sera mon serviteur à jamais. (Ⅱ) - καὶ ἐπιστεύθη Δαυιδ ἐν τω̨̃ Αγχους σφόδρα λέγων ἤ̨σχυνται αἰσχυνόμενος ἐν τω̨̃ λαω̨̃ αὐτου̃ ἐν Ισραηλ καὶ ἔσται μοι δου̃λος εἰς τὸν αἰω̃να (Ⅲ) - Credidit ergo Achis David, dicens : Multa mala operatus est contra populum suum Israël : erit igitur mihi servus sempiternus. (Ⅳ) - 12 ׃27 ויאמן אכיש בדוד לאמר הבאש הבאיש בעמו בישראל והיה לי לעבד עולם פ (Ⅴ)
