6. 1  
And the ark of the LORD was in the country of the Philistines seven months.
- L'arche de l'Éternel fut sept mois dans le pays des Philistins. (Ⅱ)
- καὶ ἠ̃ν ἡ κιβωτὸς ἐν ἀγρω̨̃ τω̃ν ἀλλοφύλων ἑπτὰ μη̃νας καὶ ἐξέζεσεν ἡ γη̃ αὐτω̃ν μύας (Ⅲ)
- Fuit ergo arca Domini in regione Philisthinorum septem mensibus. (Ⅳ)
- ‫ 1  ׃6   ויהי ארון יהוה בשדה פלשתים שבעה חדשים ‬ (Ⅴ)
6. 2  
And the Philistines called for the priests and the diviners, saying, What shall we do to the ark of the LORD? tell us wherewith we shall send it to his place.
- Et les Philistins appelèrent les prêtres et les devins, et ils dirent: Que ferons-nous de l'arche de l'Éternel? Faites-nous connaître de quelle manière nous devons la renvoyer en son lieu. (Ⅱ)
- καὶ καλου̃σιν ἀλλόφυλοι τοὺς ἱερει̃ς καὶ τοὺς μάντεις καὶ τοὺς ἐπαοιδοὺς αὐτω̃ν λέγοντες τί ποιήσωμεν τη̨̃ κιβωτω̨̃ κυρίου γνωρίσατε ἡμι̃ν ἐν τίνι ἀποστελου̃μεν αὐτὴν εἰς τὸν τόπον αὐτη̃ς (Ⅲ)
- Et vocaverunt Philisthiim sacerdotes et divinos, dicentes : Quid faciemus de arca Domini ? indicate nobis quomodo remittamus eam in locum suum. Qui dixerunt : (Ⅳ)
- ‫ 2  ׃6   ויקראו פלשתים לכהנים ולקסמים לאמר מה נעשה לארון יהוה הודענו במה נשלחנו למקומו ‬ (Ⅴ)
6. 3  
And they said, If ye send away the ark of the God of Israel, send it not empty; but in any wise return him a trespass offering: then ye shall be healed, and it shall be known to you why his hand is not removed from you.
- Ils répondirent: Si vous renvoyez l'arche du Dieu d'Israël, ne la renvoyez point à vide, mais faites à Dieu un sacrifice de culpabilité; alors vous guérirez, et vous saurez pourquoi sa main ne s'est pas retirée de dessus vous. (Ⅱ)
- καὶ εἰ̃παν εἰ ἐξαπεστέλλετε ὑμει̃ς τὴν κιβωτὸν διαθήκης κυρίου θεου̃ Ισραηλ μὴ δὴ ἐξαποστείλητε αὐτὴν κενήν ἀλλὰ ἀποδιδόντες ἀπόδοτε αὐτη̨̃ τη̃ς βασάνου καὶ τότε ἰαθήσεσθε καὶ ἐξιλασθήσεται ὑμι̃ν μὴ οὐκ ἀποστη̨̃ ἡ χεὶρ αὐτου̃ ἀφ' ὑμω̃ν (Ⅲ)
- Si remittitis arcam Dei Israël, nolite dimittere eam vacuam, sed quod debetis, reddite ei pro peccato, et tunc curabimini : et scietis quare non recedat manus ejus a vobis. (Ⅳ)
- ‫ 3  ׃6   ויאמרו אם משלחים את ארון אלהי ישראל אל תשלחו אתו ריקם כי השב תשיבו לו אשם אז תרפאו ונודע לכם למה לא תסור ידו מכם ‬ (Ⅴ)
6. 4  
Then said they, What shall be the trespass offering which we shall return to him? They answered, Five golden emerods, and five golden mice, according to the number of the lords of the Philistines: for one plague was on you all, and on your lords.
- Les Philistins dirent: Quelle offrande lui ferons-nous? Ils répondirent: Cinq tumeurs d'or et cinq souris d'or, d'après le nombre des princes des Philistins, car une même plaie a été sur vous tous et sur vos princes. (Ⅱ)
- καὶ λέγουσιν τί τὸ τη̃ς βασάνου ἀποδώσομεν αὐτη̨̃ καὶ εἰ̃παν κατ' ἀριθμὸν τω̃ν σατραπω̃ν τω̃ν ἀλλοφύλων πέντε ἕδρας χρυσα̃ς ὅτι πται̃σμα ἓν ὑμι̃ν καὶ τοι̃ς ἄρχουσιν ὑμω̃ν καὶ τω̨̃ λαω̨̃ (Ⅲ)
- Qui dixerunt : Quid est quod pro delicto reddere debeamus ei ? Responderuntque illi : (Ⅳ)
- ‫ 4  ׃6   ויאמרו מה האשם אשר נשיב לו ויאמרו מספר סרני פלשתים חמשה *עפלי **טחרי זהב וחמשה עכברי זהב כי מגפה אחת לכלם ולסרניכם ‬ (Ⅴ)
6. 5  
Wherefore ye shall make images of your emerods, and images of your mice that mar the land; and ye shall give glory unto the God of Israel: peradventure he will lighten his hand from off you, and from off your gods, and from off your land.
- Faites des figures de vos tumeurs et des figures de vos souris qui ravagent le pays, et donnez gloire au Dieu d'Israël: peut-être cessera-t-il d'appesantir sa main sur vous, sur vos dieux, et sur votre pays. (Ⅱ)
- καὶ μυ̃ς χρυσου̃ς ὁμοίωμα τω̃ν μυω̃ν ὑμω̃ν τω̃ν διαφθειρόντων τὴν γη̃ν καὶ δώσετε τω̨̃ κυρίω̨ δόξαν ὅπως κουφίση̨ τὴν χει̃ρα αὐτου̃ ἀφ' ὑμω̃ν καὶ ἀπὸ τω̃ν θεω̃ν ὑμω̃ν καὶ ἀπὸ τη̃ς γη̃ς ὑμω̃ν (Ⅲ)
- Juxta numerum provinciarum Philisthinorum quinque anos aureos facietis, et quinque mures aureos : quia plaga una fuit omnibus vobis, et satrapis vestris. Facietisque similitudines anorum vestrorum, et similitudines murium, qui demoliti sunt terram : et dabitis Deo Israël gloriam, si forte relevet manum suam a vobis, et a diis vestris, et a terra vestra. (Ⅳ)
- ‫ 5  ׃6   ועשיתם צלמי *עפליכם **טחריכם וצלמי עכבריכם המשחיתם את הארץ ונתתם לאלהי ישראל כבוד אולי יקל את ידו מעליכם ומעל אלהיכם ומעל ארצכם ‬ (Ⅴ)
6. 6  
Wherefore then do ye harden your hearts, as the Egyptians and Pharaoh hardened their hearts? when he had wrought wonderfully among them, did they not let the people go, and they departed?
- Pourquoi endurciriez-vous votre coeur, comme les Égyptiens et Pharaon ont endurci leur coeur? N'exerça-t-il pas ses châtiments sur eux, et ne laissèrent-ils pas alors partir les enfants d'Israël? (Ⅱ)
- καὶ ἵνα τί βαρύνετε τὰς καρδίας ὑμω̃ν ὡς ἐβάρυνεν Αἴγυπτος καὶ Φαραω τὴν καρδίαν αὐτω̃ν οὐχὶ ὅτε ἐνέπαιξεν αὐτοι̃ς ἐξαπέστειλαν αὐτούς καὶ ἀπη̃λθον (Ⅲ)
- Quare aggravatis corda vestra, sicut aggravavit Ægyptus et Pharao cor suum ? nonne postquam percussus est, tunc dimisit eos, et abierunt ? (Ⅳ)
- ‫ 6  ׃6   ולמה תכבדו את לבבכם כאשר כבדו מצרים ופרעה את לבם הלוא כאשר התעלל בהם וישלחום וילכו ‬ (Ⅴ)
6. 7  
Now therefore make a new cart, and take two milch kine, on which there hath come no yoke, and tie the kine to the cart, and bring their calves home from them:
- Maintenant, faites un char tout neuf, et prenez deux vaches qui allaitent et qui n'aient point porté le joug; attelez les vaches au char, et ramenez à la maison leurs petits qui sont derrière elles. (Ⅱ)
- καὶ νυ̃ν λάβετε καὶ ποιήσατε ἅμαξαν καινὴν καὶ δύο βόας πρωτοτοκούσας ἄνευ τω̃ν τέκνων καὶ ζεύξατε τὰς βόας ἐν τη̨̃ ἁμάξη̨ καὶ ἀπαγάγετε τὰ τέκνα ἀπὸ ὄπισθεν αὐτω̃ν εἰς οἰ̃κον (Ⅲ)
- Nunc ergo arripite et facite plaustrum novum unum : et duas vaccas fœtas, quibus non est impositum jugum, jungite in plaustro, et recludite vitulos earum domi. (Ⅳ)
- ‫ 7  ׃6   ועתה קחו ועשו עגלה חדשה אחת ושתי פרות עלות אשר לא עלה עליהם על ואסרתם את הפרות בעגלה והשיבתם בניהם מאחריהם הביתה ‬ (Ⅴ)
6. 8  
And take the ark of the LORD, and lay it upon the cart; and put the jewels of gold, which ye return him for a trespass offering, in a coffer by the side thereof; and send it away, that it may go.
- Vous prendrez l'arche de l'Éternel, et vous la mettrez sur le char; vous placerez à côté d'elle, dans un coffre, les objets d'or que vous donnez à l'Éternel en offrande pour le péché; puis vous la renverrez, et elle partira. (Ⅱ)
- καὶ λήμψεσθε τὴν κιβωτὸν καὶ θήσετε αὐτὴν ἐπὶ τὴν ἅμαξαν καὶ τὰ σκεύη τὰ χρυσα̃ ἀποδώσετε αὐτη̨̃ τη̃ς βασάνου καὶ θήσετε ἐν θέματι βερσεχθαν ἐκ μέρους αὐτη̃ς καὶ ἐξαποστελει̃τε αὐτὴν καὶ ἀπελάσατε αὐτήν καὶ ἀπελεύσεται (Ⅲ)
- Tolletisque arcam Domini, et ponetis in plaustro, et vasa aurea quæ exsolvistis ei pro delicto, ponetis in capsellam ad latus ejus : et dimittite eam ut vadat. (Ⅳ)
- ‫ 8  ׃6   ולקחתם את ארון יהוה ונתתם אתו אל העגלה ואת כלי הזהב אשר השבתם לו אשם תשימו בארגז מצדו ושלחתם אתו והלך ‬ (Ⅴ)
6. 9  
And see, if it goeth up by the way of his own coast to Bethshemesh, then he hath done us this great evil: but if not, then we shall know that it is not his hand that smote us: it was a chance that happened to us.
- Suivez-la du regard: si elle monte par le chemin de sa frontière vers Beth Schémesch, c'est l'Éternel qui nous a fait ce grand mal; sinon, nous saurons que ce n'est pas sa main qui nous a frappés, mais que cela nous est arrivé par hasard. (Ⅱ)
- καὶ ὄψεσθε εἰ εἰς ὁδὸν ὁρίων αὐτη̃ς πορεύσεται κατὰ Βαιθσαμυς αὐτὸς πεποίηκεν ἡμι̃ν τὴν κακίαν ταύτην τὴν μεγάλην καὶ ἐὰν μή καὶ γνωσόμεθα ὅτι οὐ χεὶρ αὐτου̃ ἡ̃πται ἡμω̃ν ἀλλὰ σύμπτωμα του̃το γέγονεν ἡμι̃ν (Ⅲ)
- Et aspicietis : et si quidem per viam finium suorum ascenderit contra Bethsames, ipse fecit nobis hoc malum grande : sin autem, minime : sciemus quia nequaquam manus ejus tetigit nos, sed casu accidit.\ (Ⅳ)
- ‫ 9  ׃6   וראיתם אם דרך גבולו יעלה בית שמש הוא עשה לנו את הרעה הגדולה הזאת ואם לא וידענו כי לא ידו נגעה בנו מקרה הוא היה לנו ‬ (Ⅴ)
6. 10  
And the men did so; and took two milch kine, and tied them to the cart, and shut up their calves at home:
- Ces gens firent ainsi. Ils prirent deux vaches qui allaitaient et les attelèrent au char, et ils enfermèrent les petits dans la maison. (Ⅱ)
- καὶ ἐποίησαν οἱ ἀλλόφυλοι οὕτως καὶ ἔλαβον δύο βόας πρωτοτοκούσας καὶ ἔζευξαν αὐτὰς ἐν τη̨̃ ἁμάξη̨ καὶ τὰ τέκνα αὐτω̃ν ἀπεκώλυσαν εἰς οἰ̃κον (Ⅲ)
- Fecerunt ergo illi hoc modo : et tollentes duas vaccas quæ lactabant vitulos, junxerunt ad plaustrum, vitulosque earum concluserunt domi. (Ⅳ)
- ‫ 10 ׃6   ויעשו האנשים כן ויקחו שתי פרות עלות ויאסרום בעגלה ואת בניהם כלו בבית ‬ (Ⅴ)
6. 11  
And they laid the ark of the LORD upon the cart, and the coffer with the mice of gold and the images of their emerods.
- Ils mirent sur le char l'arche de l'Éternel, et le coffre avec les souris d'or et les figures de leurs tumeurs. (Ⅱ)
- καὶ ἔθεντο τὴν κιβωτὸν ἐπὶ τὴν ἅμαξαν καὶ τὸ θέμα εργαβ καὶ τοὺς μυ̃ς τοὺς χρυσου̃ς (Ⅲ)
- Et posuerunt arcam Dei super plaustrum, et capsellam quæ habebat mures aureos et similitudines anorum. (Ⅳ)
- ‫ 11 ׃6   וישמו את ארון יהוה אל העגלה ואת הארגז ואת עכברי הזהב ואת צלמי טחריהם ‬ (Ⅴ)
6. 12  
And the kine took the straight way to the way of Bethshemesh, and went along the highway, lowing as they went, and turned not aside to the right hand or to the left; and the lords of the Philistines went after them unto the border of Bethshemesh.
- Les vaches prirent directement le chemin de Beth Schémesch; elles suivirent toujours la même route en mugissant, et elles ne se détournèrent, ni à droite ni à gauche. Les princes des Philistins allèrent derrière elles jusqu'à la frontière de Beth Schémesch. (Ⅱ)
- καὶ κατεύθυναν αἱ βόες ἐν τη̨̃ ὁδω̨̃ εἰς ὁδὸν Βαιθσαμυς ἐν τρίβω̨ ἑνὶ ἐπορεύοντο καὶ ἐκοπίων καὶ οὐ μεθίσταντο δεξιὰ οὐδὲ ἀριστερά καὶ οἱ σατράπαι τω̃ν ἀλλοφύλων ἐπορεύοντο ὀπίσω αὐτη̃ς ἕως ὁρίων Βαιθσαμυς (Ⅲ)
- Ibant autem in directum vaccæ per viam quæ ducit Bethsames, et itinere uno gradiebantur, pergentes et mugientes : et non declinabant neque ad dextram neque ad sinistram : sed et satrapæ Philisthiim sequebantur usque ad terminos Bethsames. (Ⅳ)
- ‫ 12 ׃6   וישרנה‪[1]‬ הפרות בדרך על דרך בית שמש במסלה אחת הלכו הלך וגעו ולא סרו ימין ושמאול וסרני פלשתים הלכים אחריהם עד גבול בית שמש ‬ (Ⅴ)
6. 13  
And they of Bethshemesh were reaping their wheat harvest in the valley: and they lifted up their eyes, and saw the ark, and rejoiced to see it.
- Les habitants de Beth Schémesch moissonnaient les blés dans la vallée; ils levèrent les yeux, aperçurent l'arche, et se réjouirent en la voyant. (Ⅱ)
- καὶ οἱ ἐν Βαιθσαμυς ἐθέριζον θερισμὸν πυρω̃ν ἐν κοιλάδι καὶ ἠ̃ραν ὀφθαλμοὺς αὐτω̃ν καὶ εἰ̃δον κιβωτὸν κυρίου καὶ ηὐφράνθησαν εἰς ἀπάντησιν αὐτη̃ς (Ⅲ)
- Porro Bethsamitæ metebant triticum in valle : et elevantes oculos suos, viderunt arcam, et gavisi sunt cum vidissent. (Ⅳ)
- ‫ 13 ׃6   ובית שמש קצרים קציר חטים בעמק וישאו את עיניהם ויראו את הארון וישמחו לראות ‬ (Ⅴ)
6. 14  
And the cart came into the field of Joshua, a Bethshemite, and stood there, where there was a great stone: and they clave the wood of the cart, and offered the kine a burnt offering unto the LORD.
- Le char arriva dans le champ de Josué de Beth Schémesch, et s'y arrêta. Il y avait là une grande pierre. On fendit le bois du char, et l'on offrit les vaches en holocauste à l'Éternel. (Ⅱ)
- καὶ ἡ ἅμαξα εἰση̃λθεν εἰς ἀγρὸν Ωσηε τὸν ἐν Βαιθσαμυς καὶ ἔστησαν ἐκει̃ παρ' αὐτη̨̃ λίθον μέγαν καὶ σχίζουσιν τὰ ξύλα τη̃ς ἁμάξης καὶ τὰς βόας ἀνήνεγκαν εἰς ὁλοκαύτωσιν τω̨̃ κυρίω̨ (Ⅲ)
- Et plaustrum venit in agrum Josue Bethsamitæ, et stetit ibi. Erat autem ibi lapis magnus, et conciderunt ligna plaustri, vaccasque imposuerunt super ea holocaustum Domino. (Ⅳ)
- ‫ 14 ׃6   והעגלה באה אל שדה יהושע בית השמשי ותעמד שם ושם אבן גדולה ויבקעו את עצי העגלה ואת הפרות העלו עלה ליהוה ס‬ (Ⅴ)
6. 15  
And the Levites took down the ark of the LORD, and the coffer that was with it, wherein the jewels of gold were, and put them on the great stone: and the men of Bethshemesh offered burnt offerings and sacrificed sacrifices the same day unto the LORD.
- Les Lévites descendirent l'arche de l'Éternel, et le coffre qui était à côté d'elle et qui contenait les objets d'or; et ils posèrent le tout sur la grande pierre. Les gens de Beth Schémesch offrirent en ce jour des holocaustes et des sacrifices à l'Éternel. (Ⅱ)
- καὶ οἱ Λευι̃ται ἀνήνεγκαν τὴν κιβωτὸν του̃ κυρίου καὶ τὸ θέμα εργαβ μετ' αὐτη̃ς καὶ τὰ ἐπ' αὐτη̃ς σκεύη τὰ χρυσα̃ καὶ ἔθεντο ἐπὶ του̃ λίθου του̃ μεγάλου καὶ οἱ ἄνδρες Βαιθσαμυς ἀνήνεγκαν ὁλοκαυτώσεις καὶ θυσίας ἐν τη̨̃ ἡμέρα̨ ἐκείνη̨ τω̨̃ κυρίω̨ (Ⅲ)
- Levitæ autem deposuerunt arcam Dei, et capsellam quæ erat juxta eam, in qua erant vasa aurea, et posuerunt super lapidem grandem. Viri autem Bethsamitæ obtulerunt holocausta, et immolaverunt victimas in die illa Domino. (Ⅳ)
- ‫ 15 ׃6   והלוים הורידו את ארון יהוה ואת הארגז אשר אתו אשר בו כלי זהב וישמו אל האבן הגדולה ואנשי בית שמש העלו עלות ויזבחו זבחים ביום ההוא ליהוה ‬ (Ⅴ)
6. 16  
And when the five lords of the Philistines had seen it, they returned to Ekron the same day.
- Les cinq princes des Philistins, après avoir vu cela, retournèrent à Ékron le même jour. (Ⅱ)
- καὶ οἱ πέντε σατράπαι τω̃ν ἀλλοφύλων ἑώρων καὶ ἀνέστρεψαν εἰς 'Ασκαλω̃να τη̨̃ ἡμέρα̨ ἐκείνη̨ (Ⅲ)
- Et quinque satrapæ Philisthinorum viderunt, et reversi sunt in Accaron in die illa. (Ⅳ)
- ‫ 16 ׃6   וחמשה סרני פלשתים ראו וישבו עקרון ביום ההוא ס‬ (Ⅴ)
6. 17  
And these are the golden emerods which the Philistines returned for a trespass offering unto the LORD; for Ashdod one, for Gaza one, for Askelon one, for Gath one, for Ekron one;
- Voici les tumeurs d'or que les Philistins donnèrent à l'Éternel en offrande pour le péché: une pour Asdod, une pour Gaza, une pour Askalon, une pour Gath, une pour Ékron. (Ⅱ)
- καὶ αὑ̃ται αἱ ἕδραι αἱ χρυσαι̃ ἃς ἀπέδωκαν οἱ ἀλλόφυλοι τη̃ς βασάνου τω̨̃ κυρίω̨ τη̃ς 'Αζώτου μίαν τη̃ς Γάζης μίαν τη̃ς 'Ασκαλω̃νος μίαν τη̃ς Γεθ μίαν τη̃ς Ακκαρων μίαν (Ⅲ)
- Hi sunt autem ani aurei quos reddiderunt Philisthiim pro delicto, Domino : Azotus unum, Gaza unum, Ascalon unum, Geth unum, Accaron unum : (Ⅳ)
- ‫ 17 ׃6   ואלה טחרי הזהב אשר השיבו פלשתים אשם ליהוה לאשדוד אחד‪[c]‬ לעזה אחד לאשקלון אחד לגת אחד לעקרון אחד ס‬ (Ⅴ)
6. 18  
And the golden mice, according to the number of all the cities of the Philistines belonging to the five lords, both of fenced cities, and of country villages, even unto the great stone of Abel, whereon they set down the ark of the LORD: which stone remaineth unto this day in the field of Joshua, the Bethshemite.
- Il y avait aussi des souris d'or selon le nombre de toutes les villes des Philistins, appartenant aux cinq chefs, tant des villes fortifiées que des villages sans murailles. C'est ce qu'atteste la grande pierre sur laquelle on déposa l'arche de l'Éternel, et qui est encore aujourd'hui dans le champ de Josué de Beth Schémesch. (Ⅱ)
- καὶ μυ̃ς οἱ χρυσοι̃ κατ' ἀριθμὸν πασω̃ν πόλεων τω̃ν ἀλλοφύλων τω̃ν πέντε σατραπω̃ν ἐκ πόλεως ἐστερεωμένης καὶ ἕως κώμης του̃ Φερεζαίου καὶ ἕως λίθου του̃ μεγάλου οὑ̃ ἐπέθηκαν ἐπ' αὐτου̃ τὴν κιβωτὸν διαθήκης κυρίου του̃ ἐν ἀγρω̨̃ Ωσηε του̃ Βαιθσαμυσίτου (Ⅲ)
- et mures aureos secundum numerum urbium Philisthiim, quinque provinciarum, ab urbe murata usque ad villam quæ erat absque muro, et usque ad Abelmagnum, super quem posuerunt arcam Domini, quæ erat usque in illum diem in agro Josue Bethsamitis.\ (Ⅳ)
- ‫ 18 ׃6   ועכברי הזהב מספר כל ערי פלשתים לחמשת הסרנים מעיר מבצר ועד כפר הפרזי ועד אבל הגדולה אשר הניחו עליה את ארון יהוה עד היום הזה בשדה יהושע בית השמשי ‬ (Ⅴ)
6. 19  
And he smote the men of Bethshemesh, because they had looked into the ark of the LORD, even he smote of the people fifty thousand and threescore and ten men: and the people lamented, because the LORD had smitten many of the people with a great slaughter.
- L'Éternel frappa les gens de Beth Schémesch, lorsqu'ils regardèrent l'arche de l'Éternel; il frappa [cinquante mille] soixante-dix hommes parmi le peuple. Et le peuple fut dans la désolation, parce que l'Éternel l'avait frappé d'une grande plaie. (Ⅱ)
- καὶ οὐκ ἠσμένισαν οἱ υἱοὶ Ιεχονιου ἐν τοι̃ς ἀνδράσιν Βαιθσαμυς ὅτι εἰ̃δαν κιβωτὸν κυρίου καὶ ἐπάταξεν ἐν αὐτοι̃ς ἑβδομήκοντα ἄνδρας καὶ πεντήκοντα χιλιάδας ἀνδρω̃ν καὶ ἐπένθησεν ὁ λαός ὅτι ἐπάταξεν κύριος ἐν τω̨̃ λαω̨̃ πληγὴν μεγάλην σφόδρα (Ⅲ)
- Percussit autem de viris Bethsamitibus, eo quod vidissent arcam Domini : et percussit de populo septuaginta viros, et quinquaginta millia plebis. Luxitque populus, eo quod Dominus percussisset plebem plaga magna. (Ⅳ)
- ‫ 19 ׃6   ויך באנשי בית שמש כי ראו בארון יהוה ויך בעם שבעים איש חמשים אלף איש ויתאבלו העם כי הכה יהוה בעם מכה גדולה‪[1]‬ ‬ (Ⅴ)

And the men of Bethshemesh said, Who is able to stand before this holy LORD God? and to whom shall he go up from us?
- Les gens de Beth Schémesch dirent: Qui peut subsister en présence de l'Éternel, de ce Dieu saint? Et vers qui l'arche doit-elle monter, en s'éloignant de nous? (Ⅱ)
- καὶ εἰ̃παν οἱ ἄνδρες οἱ ἐκ Βαιθσαμυς τίς δυνήσεται διελθει̃ν ἐνώπιον κυρίου του̃ ἁγίου τούτου καὶ πρὸς τίνα ἀναβήσεται κιβωτὸς κυρίου ἀφ' ἡμω̃ν (Ⅲ)
- Et dixerunt viri Bethsamitæ : Quis poterit stare in conspectu Domini Dei sancti hujus ? et ad quem ascendet a nobis ? (Ⅳ)
- ‫ 20 ׃6   ויאמרו אנשי בית שמש מי יוכל לעמד לפני יהוה האלהים הקדוש הזה ואל מי יעלה מעלינו ס‬ (Ⅴ)
6. 21  
And they sent messengers to the inhabitants of Kirjathjearim, saying, The Philistines have brought again the ark of the LORD; come ye down, and fetch it up to you.
- Ils envoyèrent des messagers aux habitants de Kirjath Jearim, pour leur dire: Les Philistins ont ramené l'arche de l'Éternel; descendez, et faites-la monter vers vous. (Ⅱ)
- καὶ ἀποστέλλουσιν ἀγγέλους πρὸς τοὺς κατοικου̃ντας Καριαθιαριμ λέγοντες ἀπεστρόφασιν ἀλλόφυλοι τὴν κιβωτὸν κυρίου κατάβητε καὶ ἀναγάγετε αὐτὴν πρὸς ἑαυτούς (Ⅲ)
- Miseruntque nuntios ad habitatores Cariathiarim, dicentes : Reduxerunt Philisthiim arcam Domini : descendite, et reducite eam ad vos. (Ⅳ)
- ‫ 21 ׃6   וישלחו מלאכים אל יושבי קרית יערים לאמר השבו פלשתים את ארון יהוה רדו העלו אתו אליכם ‬ (Ⅴ)
