And it came to pass in those days, that the Philistines gathered their armies together for warfare, to fight with Israel. And Achish said unto David, Know thou assuredly, that thou shalt go out with me to battle, thou and thy men.
- En ce temps-là, les Philistins rassemblèrent leurs troupes et formèrent une armée, pour faire la guerre à Israël. Akisch dit à David: Tu sais que tu viendras avec moi à l'armée, toi et tes gens. (Ⅱ) - καὶ ἐγενήθη ἐν ται̃ς ἡμέραις ἐκείναις καὶ συναθροίζονται ἀλλόφυλοι ἐν ται̃ς παρεμβολαι̃ς αὐτω̃ν ἐξελθει̃ν πολεμει̃ν μετὰ Ισραηλ καὶ εἰ̃πεν Αγχους πρὸς Δαυιδ γινώσκων γνώσει ὅτι μετ' ἐμου̃ ἐξελεύσει εἰς πόλεμον σὺ καὶ οἱ ἄνδρες σου (Ⅲ) - Factum est autem in diebus illis, congregaverunt Philisthiim agmina sua, ut præpararentur ad bellum contra Israël : dixitque Achis ad David : Sciens nunc scito quoniam mecum egredieris in castris, tu et viri tui. (Ⅳ) - 1 ׃28 ויהי בימים ההם ויקבצו פלשתים את מחניהם לצבא להלחם בישראל ויאמר אכיש אל דוד ידע תדע כי אתי תצא במחנה אתה ואנשיך (Ⅴ)

And David said to Achish, Surely thou shalt know what thy servant can do. And Achish said to David, Therefore will I make thee keeper of mine head for ever.
- David répondit à Akisch: Tu verras bien ce que ton serviteur fera. Et Akisch dit à David: Aussi je te donnerai pour toujours la garde de ma personne. (Ⅱ) - καὶ εἰ̃πεν Δαυιδ πρὸς Αγχους οὕτω νυ̃ν γνώσει ἃ ποιήσει ὁ δου̃λός σου καὶ εἰ̃πεν Αγχους πρὸς Δαυιδ οὕτως ἀρχισωματοφύλακα θήσομαί σε πάσας τὰς ἡμέρας (Ⅲ) - Dixitque David ad Achis : Nunc scies quæ facturus est servus tuus. Et ait Achis ad David : Et ego custodem capitis mei ponam te cunctis diebus. (Ⅳ) - 2 ׃28 ויאמר דוד אל אכיש לכן אתה תדע את אשר יעשה עבדך ויאמר אכיש אל דוד לכן שמר לראשי אשימך כל הימים פ (Ⅴ)

Now Samuel was dead, and all Israel had lamented him, and buried him in Ramah, even in his own city. And Saul had put away those that had familiar spirits, and the wizards, out of the land.
- Samuel était mort; tout Israël l'avait pleuré, et on l'avait enterré à Rama, dans sa ville. Saül avait ôté du pays ceux qui évoquaient les morts et ceux qui prédisaient l'avenir. (Ⅱ) - καὶ Σαμουηλ ἀπέθανεν καὶ ἐκόψαντο αὐτὸν πα̃ς Ισραηλ καὶ θάπτουσιν αὐτὸν ἐν Αρμαθαιμ ἐν πόλει αὐτου̃ καὶ Σαουλ περιει̃λεν τοὺς ἐγγαστριμύθους καὶ τοὺς γνώστας ἀπὸ τη̃ς γη̃ς (Ⅲ) - Samuel autem mortuus est, planxitque eum omnis Israël, et sepelierunt eum in Ramatha urbe sua. Et Saul abstulit magos et hariolos de terra. (Ⅳ) - 3 ׃28 ושמואל מת ויספדו לו כל ישראל ויקברהו ברמה ובעירו ושאול הסיר האבות ואת הידענים מהארץ (Ⅴ)

And the Philistines gathered themselves together, and came and pitched in Shunem: and Saul gathered all Israel together, and they pitched in Gilboa.
- Les Philistins se rassemblèrent, et vinrent camper à Sunem; Saül rassembla tout Israël, et ils campèrent à Guilboa. (Ⅱ) - καὶ συναθροίζονται οἱ ἀλλόφυλοι καὶ ἔρχονται καὶ παρεμβάλλουσιν εἰς Σωμαν καὶ συναθροίζει Σαουλ πάντα ἄνδρα Ισραηλ καὶ παρεμβάλλουσιν εἰς Γελβουε (Ⅲ) - Congregatique sunt Philisthiim, et venerunt, et castrametati sunt in Sunam : congregavit autem et Saul universum Israël, et venit in Gelboë. (Ⅳ) - 4 ׃28 ויקבצו פלשתים ויבאו ויחנו בשונם ויקבץ שאול את כל ישראל ויחנו בגלבע (Ⅴ)

And when Saul saw the host of the Philistines, he was afraid, and his heart greatly trembled.
- A la vue du camp des Philistins, Saül fut saisi de crainte, et un violent tremblement s'empara de son coeur. (Ⅱ) - καὶ εἰ̃δεν Σαουλ τὴν παρεμβολὴν τω̃ν ἀλλοφύλων καὶ ἐφοβήθη καὶ ἐξέστη ἡ καρδία αὐτου̃ σφόδρα (Ⅲ) - Et vidit Saul castra Philisthiim, et timuit, et expavit cor ejus nimis.\ (Ⅳ) - 5 ׃28 וירא שאול את מחנה פלשתים וירא ויחרד לבו מאד (Ⅴ)

And when Saul inquired of the LORD, the LORD answered him not, neither by dreams, nor by Urim, nor by prophets.
- Saül consulta l'Éternel; et l'Éternel ne lui répondit point, ni par des songes, ni par l'urim, ni par les prophètes. (Ⅱ) - καὶ ἐπηρώτησεν Σαουλ διὰ κυρίου καὶ οὐκ ἀπεκρίθη αὐτω̨̃ κύριος ἐν τοι̃ς ἐνυπνίοις καὶ ἐν τοι̃ς δήλοις καὶ ἐν τοι̃ς προφήταις (Ⅲ) - Consuluitque Dominum, et non respondit ei neque per somnia, neque per sacerdotes, neque per prophetas. (Ⅳ) - 6 ׃28 וישאל שאול ביהוה ולא ענהו יהוה גם בחלמות גם באורים גם בנביאם (Ⅴ)

Then said Saul unto his servants, Seek me a woman that hath a familiar spirit, that I may go to her, and inquire of her. And his servants said to him, Behold, there is a woman that hath a familiar spirit at Endor.
- Et Saül dit à ses serviteurs: Cherchez-moi une femme qui évoque les morts, et j'irai la consulter. Ses serviteurs lui dirent: Voici, à En Dor il y a une femme qui évoque les morts. (Ⅱ) - καὶ εἰ̃πεν Σαουλ τοι̃ς παισὶν αὐτου̃ ζητήσατέ μοι γυναι̃κα ἐγγαστρίμυθον καὶ πορεύσομαι πρὸς αὐτὴν καὶ ζητήσω ἐν αὐτη̨̃ καὶ εἰ̃παν οἱ παι̃δες αὐτου̃ πρὸς αὐτόν ἰδοὺ γυνὴ ἐγγαστρίμυθος ἐν Αενδωρ (Ⅲ) - Dixitque Saul servis suis : Quærite mihi mulierem habentem pythonem, et vadam ad eam, et sciscitabor per illam. Et dixerunt servi ejus ad eum : Est mulier pythonem habens in Endor. (Ⅳ) - 7 ׃28 ויאמר שאול לעבדיו בקשו לי אשת בעלת אוב ואלכה אליה ואדרשה בה ויאמרו עבדיו אליו הנה אשת בעלת אוב בעין דור (Ⅴ)

And Saul disguised himself, and put on other raiment, and he went, and two men with him, and they came to the woman by night: and he said, I pray thee, divine unto me by the familiar spirit, and bring me him up, whom I shall name unto thee.
- Alors Saül se déguisa et prit d'autres vêtements, et il partit avec deux hommes. Ils arrivèrent de nuit chez la femme. Saül lui dit: Prédis-moi l'avenir en évoquant un mort, et fais-moi monter celui que je te dirai. (Ⅱ) - καὶ συνεκαλύψατο Σαουλ καὶ περιεβάλετο ἱμάτια ἕτερα καὶ πορεύεται αὐτὸς καὶ δύο ἄνδρες μετ' αὐτου̃ καὶ ἔρχονται πρὸς τὴν γυναι̃κα νυκτὸς καὶ εἰ̃πεν αὐτη̨̃ μάντευσαι δή μοι ἐν τω̨̃ ἐγγαστριμύθω̨ καὶ ἀνάγαγέ μοι ὃν ἐὰν εἴπω σοι (Ⅲ) - Mutavit ergo habitum suum, vestitusque est aliis vestimentis, et abiit ipse, et duo viri cum eo : veneruntque ad mulierem nocte, et ait illi : Divina mihi in pythone, et suscita mihi quem dixero tibi. (Ⅳ) - 8 ׃28 ויתחפש שאול וילבש בגדים אחרים וילך הוא ושני אנשים עמו ויבאו אל האשה לילה ויאמר *קסומי **קסמי נא[y] לי באוב והעלי לי את אשר אמר אליך (Ⅴ)

And the woman said unto him, Behold, thou knowest what Saul hath done, how he hath cut off those that have familiar spirits, and the wizards, out of the land: wherefore then layest thou a snare for my life, to cause me to die?
- La femme lui répondit: Voici, tu sais ce que Saül a fait, comment il a retranché du pays ceux qui évoquent les morts et ceux qui prédisent l'avenir; pourquoi donc tends-tu un piège à ma vie pour me faire mourir? (Ⅱ) - καὶ εἰ̃πεν ἡ γυνὴ πρὸς αὐτόν ἰδοὺ δὴ σὺ οἰ̃δας ὅσα ἐποίησεν Σαουλ ὡς ἐξωλέθρευσεν τοὺς ἐγγαστριμύθους καὶ τοὺς γνώστας ἀπὸ τη̃ς γη̃ς καὶ ἵνα τί σὺ παγιδεύεις τὴν ψυχήν μου θανατω̃σαι αὐτήν (Ⅲ) - Et ait mulier ad eum : Ecce, tu nosti quanta fecerit Saul, et quomodo eraserit magos et hariolos de terra : quare ergo insidiaris animæ meæ, ut occidar ? (Ⅳ) - 9 ׃28 ותאמר האשה אליו הנה אתה ידעת את אשר עשה שאול אשר הכרית את האבות ואת הידעני מן הארץ ולמה אתה מתנקש בנפשי להמיתני (Ⅴ)

And Saul sware to her by the LORD, saying, As the LORD liveth, there shall no punishment happen to thee for this thing.
- Saül lui jura par l'Éternel, en disant: L'Éternel est vivant! il ne t'arrivera point de mal pour cela. (Ⅱ) - καὶ ὤμοσεν αὐτη̨̃ Σαουλ λέγων ζη̨̃ κύριος εἰ ἀπαντήσεταί σοι ἀδικία ἐν τω̨̃ λόγω̨ τούτω̨ (Ⅲ) - Et juravit ei Saul in Domino, dicens : Vivit Dominus, quia non eveniet tibi quidquam mali propter hanc rem. (Ⅳ) - 10 ׃28 וישבע לה שאול ביהוה לאמר חי יהוה אם יקרך עון בדבר הזה (Ⅴ)

Then said the woman, Whom shall I bring up unto thee? And he said, Bring me up Samuel.
- La femme dit: Qui veux-tu que je te fasse monter? Et il répondit: Fais moi monter Samuel. (Ⅱ) - καὶ εἰ̃πεν ἡ γυνή τίνα ἀναγάγω σοι καὶ εἰ̃πεν τὸν Σαμουηλ ἀνάγαγέ μοι (Ⅲ) - Dixitque ei mulier : Quem suscitabo tibi ? Qui ait : Samuelem mihi suscita. (Ⅳ) - 11 ׃28 ותאמר האשה את מי אעלה לך ויאמר את שמואל העלי לי (Ⅴ)

And when the woman saw Samuel, she cried with a loud voice: and the woman spake to Saul, saying, Why hast thou deceived me? for thou art Saul.
- Lorsque la femme vit Samuel, elle poussa un grand cri, et elle dit à Saül: Pourquoi m'as-tu trompée? Tu es Saül! (Ⅱ) - καὶ εἰ̃δεν ἡ γυνὴ τὸν Σαμουηλ καὶ ἀνεβόησεν φωνη̨̃ μεγάλη̨ καὶ εἰ̃πεν ἡ γυνὴ πρὸς Σαουλ ἵνα τί παρελογίσω με καὶ σὺ εἰ̃ Σαουλ (Ⅲ) - Cum autem vidisset mulier Samuelem, exclamavit voce magna, et dixit ad Saul : Quare imposuisti mihi ? tu es enim Saul. (Ⅳ) - 12 ׃28 ותרא האשה את שמואל ותזעק בקול גדול ותאמר האשה אל שאול לאמר למה רמיתני ואתה שאול (Ⅴ)

And the king said unto her, Be not afraid: for what sawest thou? And the woman said unto Saul, I saw gods ascending out of the earth.
- Le roi lui dit: Ne crains rien; mais que vois-tu? La femme dit à Saül: je vois un dieu qui monte de la terre. (Ⅱ) - καὶ εἰ̃πεν αὐτη̨̃ ὁ βασιλεύς μὴ φοβου̃ εἰπὸν τίνα ἑόρακας καὶ εἰ̃πεν αὐτω̨̃ Θεοὺς ἑόρακα ἀναβαίνοντας ἐκ τη̃ς γη̃ς (Ⅲ) - Dixitque ei rex : Noli timere : quid vidisti ? Et ait mulier ad Saul : Deos vidi ascendentes de terra. (Ⅳ) - 13 ׃28 ויאמר לה המלך אל תיראי כי מה ראית ותאמר האשה אל שאול אלהים ראיתי עלים מן הארץ (Ⅴ)

And he said unto her, What form is he of? And she said, An old man cometh up; and he is covered with a mantle. And Saul perceived that it was Samuel, and he stooped with his face to the ground, and bowed himself.
- Il lui dit: Quelle figure a-t-il? Et elle répondit: C'est un vieillard qui monte et il est enveloppé d'un manteau. Saül comprit que c'était Samuel, et il s'inclina le visage contre terre et se prosterna. (Ⅱ) - καὶ εἰ̃πεν αὐτη̨̃ τί ἔγνως καὶ εἰ̃πεν αὐτω̨̃ ἄνδρα ὄρθιον ἀναβαίνοντα ἐκ τη̃ς γη̃ς καὶ οὑ̃τος διπλοΐδα ἀναβεβλημένος καὶ ἔγνω Σαουλ ὅτι Σαμουηλ οὑ̃τος καὶ ἔκυψεν ἐπὶ πρόσωπον αὐτου̃ ἐπὶ τὴν γη̃ν καὶ προσεκύνησεν αὐτω̨̃ (Ⅲ) - Dixitque ei : Qualis est forma ejus ? Quæ ait : Vir senex ascendit, et ipse amictus est pallio. Et intellexit Saul quod Samuel esset, et inclinavit se super faciem suam in terra, et adoravit. (Ⅳ) - 14 ׃28 ויאמר לה מה תארו ותאמר איש זקן עלה והוא עטה מעיל וידע שאול כי שמואל הוא ויקד אפים ארצה וישתחו ס (Ⅴ)

And Samuel said to Saul, Why hast thou disquieted me, to bring me up? And Saul answered, I am sore distressed; for the Philistines make war against me, and God is departed from me, and answereth me no more, neither by prophets, nor by dreams: therefore I have called thee, that thou mayest make known unto me what I shall do.
- Samuel dit à Saül: Pourquoi m'as-tu troublé, en me faisant monter? Saül répondit: Je suis dans une grande détresse: les Philistins me font la guerre, et Dieu s'est retiré de moi; il ne m'a répondu ni par les prophètes ni par des songes. Et je t'ai appelé pour que tu me fasses connaître ce que je dois faire. (Ⅱ) - καὶ εἰ̃πεν Σαμουηλ ἵνα τί παρηνώχλησάς μοι ἀναβη̃ναί με καὶ εἰ̃πεν Σαουλ θλίβομαι σφόδρα καὶ οἱ ἀλλόφυλοι πολεμου̃σιν ἐν ἐμοί καὶ ὁ θεὸς ἀφέστηκεν ἀπ' ἐμου̃ καὶ οὐκ ἐπακήκοέν μοι ἔτι καὶ ἐν χειρὶ τω̃ν προφητω̃ν καὶ ἐν τοι̃ς ἐνυπνίοις καὶ νυ̃ν κέκληκά σε γνωρίσαι μοι τί ποιήσω (Ⅲ) - Dixit autem Samuel ad Saul : Quare inquietasti me ut suscitarer ? Et ait Saul : Coarctor nimis : siquidem Philisthiim pugnant adversum me, et Deus recessit a me, et exaudire me noluit neque in manu prophetarum, neque per somnia : vocavi ergo te, ut ostenderes mihi quid faciam. (Ⅳ) - 15 ׃28 ויאמר שמואל אל שאול למה הרגזתני להעלות אתי ויאמר שאול צר לי מאד ופלשתים נלחמים בי ואלהים סר מעלי ולא ענני עוד גם ביד הנביאם גם בחלמות ואקראה לך להודיעני מה אעשה ס (Ⅴ)

Then said Samuel, Wherefore then dost thou ask of me, seeing the LORD is departed from thee, and is become thine enemy?
- Samuel dit: Pourquoi donc me consultes-tu, puisque l'Éternel s'est retiré de toi et qu'il est devenu ton ennemi? (Ⅱ) - καὶ εἰ̃πεν Σαμουηλ ἵνα τί ἐπερωτα̨̃ς με καὶ κύριος ἀφέστηκεν ἀπὸ σου̃ καὶ γέγονεν μετὰ του̃ πλησίον σου (Ⅲ) - Et ait Samuel : Quid interrogas me, cum Dominus recesserit a te, et transierit ad æmulum tuum ? (Ⅳ) - 16 ׃28 ויאמר שמואל ולמה תשאלני ויהוה סר מעליך ויהי ערך (Ⅴ)

And the LORD hath done to him, as he spake by me: for the LORD hath rent the kingdom out of thine hand, and given it to thy neighbor, even to David:
- L'Éternel te traite comme je te l'avais annoncé de sa part; l'Éternel a déchiré la royauté d'entre tes mains, et l'a donnée à un autre, à David. (Ⅱ) - καὶ πεποίηκεν κύριός σοι καθὼς ἐλάλησεν ἐν χειρί μου καὶ διαρρήξει κύριος τὴν βασιλείαν σου ἐκ χειρός σου καὶ δώσει αὐτὴν τω̨̃ πλησίον σου τω̨̃ Δαυιδ (Ⅲ) - Faciet enim tibi Dominus sicut locutus est in manu mea, et scindet regnum tuum de manu tua et dabit illud proximo tuo David : (Ⅳ) - 17 ׃28 ויעש יהוה לו כאשר דבר בידי ויקרע יהוה את הממלכה מידך ויתנה לרעך לדוד (Ⅴ)

Because thou obeyedst not the voice of the LORD, nor executedst his fierce wrath upon Amalek, therefore hath the LORD done this thing unto thee this day.
- Tu n'as point obéi à la voix de l'Éternel, et tu n'as point fait sentir à Amalek l'ardeur de sa colère: voilà pourquoi l'Éternel te traite aujourd'hui de cette manière. (Ⅱ) - διότι οὐκ ἤκουσας φωνη̃ς κυρίου καὶ οὐκ ἐποίησας θυμὸν ὀργη̃ς αὐτου̃ ἐν Αμαληκ διὰ του̃το τὸ ῥη̃μα ἐποίησεν κύριός σοι τη̨̃ ἡμέρα̨ ταύτη̨ (Ⅲ) - quia non obedisti voci Domini, neque fecisti iram furoris ejus in Amalec : idcirco quod pateris, fecit tibi Dominus hodie. (Ⅳ) - 18 ׃28 כאשר לא שמעת בקול יהוה ולא עשית חרון אפו בעמלק על כן הדבר הזה עשה לך יהוה היום הזה (Ⅴ)

Moreover the LORD will also deliver Israel with thee into the hand of the Philistines: and to morrow shalt thou and thy sons be with me: the LORD also shall deliver the host of Israel into the hand of the Philistines.
- Et même l'Éternel livrera Israël avec toi entre les mains des Philistins. Demain, toi et tes fils, vous serez avec moi, et l'Éternel livrera le camp d'Israël entre les mains des Philistins. (Ⅱ) - καὶ παραδώσει κύριος τὸν Ισραηλ μετὰ σου̃ εἰς χει̃ρας ἀλλοφύλων καὶ αὔριον σὺ καὶ οἱ υἱοί σου μετὰ σου̃ πεσου̃νται καὶ τὴν παρεμβολὴν Ισραηλ δώσει κύριος εἰς χει̃ρας ἀλλοφύλων (Ⅲ) - Et dabit Dominus etiam Israël tecum in manus Philisthiim : cras autem tu et filii tui mecum eritis : sed et castra Israël tradet Dominus in manus Philisthiim. (Ⅳ) - 19 ׃28 ויתן יהוה גם את ישראל עמך ביד פלשתים ומחר אתה ובניך עמי גם את מחנה ישראל יתן יהוה ביד פלשתים (Ⅴ)

Then Saul fell straightway all along on the earth, and was sore afraid, because of the words of Samuel: and there was no strength in him; for he had eaten no bread all the day, nor all the night.
- Aussitôt Saül tomba à terre de toute sa hauteur, et les paroles de Samuel le remplirent d'effroi; de plus, il manquait de force, car il n'avait pris aucune nourriture de tout le jour et de toute la nuit. (Ⅱ) - καὶ ἔσπευσεν Σαουλ καὶ ἔπεσεν ἑστηκὼς ἐπὶ τὴν γη̃ν καὶ ἐφοβήθη σφόδρα ἀπὸ τω̃ν λόγων Σαμουηλ καὶ ἰσχὺς ἐν αὐτω̨̃ οὐκ ἠ̃ν ἔτι οὐ γὰρ ἔφαγεν ἄρτον ὅλην τὴν ἡμέραν καὶ ὅλην τὴν νύκτα ἐκείνην (Ⅲ) - Statimque Saul cecidit porrectus in terram : extimuerat enim verba Samuelis, et robur non erat in eo, quia non comederat panem tota die illa. (Ⅳ) - 20 ׃28 וימהר שאול ויפל מלא קומתו ארצה וירא מאד מדברי שמואל גם כח לא היה בו כי לא אכל לחם כל היום וכל הלילה (Ⅴ)

And the woman came unto Saul, and saw that he was sore troubled, and said unto him, Behold, thine handmaid hath obeyed thy voice, and I have put my life in my hand, and have hearkened unto thy words which thou spakest unto me.
- La femme vint auprès de Saül, et, le voyant très effrayé, elle lui dit: Voici, ta servante a écouté ta voix; j'ai exposé ma vie, en obéissant aux paroles que tu m'as dites. (Ⅱ) - καὶ εἰση̃λθεν ἡ γυνὴ πρὸς Σαουλ καὶ εἰ̃δεν ὅτι ἔσπευσεν σφόδρα καὶ εἰ̃πεν πρὸς αὐτόν ἰδοὺ δὴ ἤκουσεν ἡ δούλη σου τη̃ς φωνη̃ς σου καὶ ἐθέμην τὴν ψυχήν μου ἐν τη̨̃ χειρί μου καὶ ἤκουσα τοὺς λόγους οὓς ἐλάλησάς μοι (Ⅲ) - Ingressa est itaque mulier illa ad Saul (conturbatus enim erat valde), dixitque ad eum : Ecce obedivit ancilla tua voci tuæ, et posui animam meam in manu mea : et audivi sermones tuos, quos locutus es ad me. (Ⅳ) - 21 ׃28 ותבוא האשה אל שאול ותרא כי נבהל מאד ותאמר אליו הנה שמעה שפחתך בקולך ואשים נפשי בכפי ואשמע את דבריך אשר דברת אלי (Ⅴ)

Now therefore, I pray thee, hearken thou also unto the voice of thine handmaid, and let me set a morsel of bread before thee; and eat, that thou mayest have strength, when thou goest on thy way.
- Écoute maintenant, toi aussi, la voix de ta servante, et laisse-moi t'offrir un morceau de pain, afin que tu manges pour avoir la force de te mettre en route. (Ⅱ) - καὶ νυ̃ν ἄκουσον δὴ φωνη̃ς τη̃ς δούλης σου καὶ παραθήσω ἐνώπιόν σου ψωμὸν ἄρτου καὶ φάγε καὶ ἔσται ἐν σοὶ ἰσχύς ὅτι πορεύση̨ ἐν ὁδω̨̃ (Ⅲ) - Nunc igitur audi et tu vocem ancillæ tuæ, et ponam coram te buccellam panis, ut comedens convalescas, et possis iter agere. (Ⅳ) - 22 ׃28 ועתה שמע נא גם אתה בקול שפחתך ואשמה לפניך פת לחם ואכול ויהי בך כח כי תלך בדרך (Ⅴ)

But he refused, and said, I will not eat. But his servants, together with the woman, compelled him; and he hearkened unto their voice. So he arose from the earth, and sat upon the bed.
- Mais il refusa, et dit: Je ne mangerai point. Ses serviteurs et la femme aussi le pressèrent, et il se rendit à leurs instances. Il se leva de terre, et s'assit sur le lit. (Ⅱ) - καὶ οὐκ ἐβουλήθη φαγει̃ν καὶ παρεβιάζοντο αὐτὸν οἱ παι̃δες αὐτου̃ καὶ ἡ γυνή καὶ ἤκουσεν τη̃ς φωνη̃ς αὐτω̃ν καὶ ἀνέστη ἀπὸ τη̃ς γη̃ς καὶ ἐκάθισεν ἐπὶ τὸν δίφρον (Ⅲ) - Qui renuit, et ait : Non comedam. Coëgerunt autem eum servi sui et mulier, et tandem audita voce eorum surrexit de terra, et sedit super lectum. (Ⅳ) - 23 ׃28 וימאן ויאמר לא אכל ויפרצו בו עבדיו וגם האשה וישמע לקלם ויקם מהארץ וישב אל המטה (Ⅴ)

And the woman had a fat calf in the house; and she hasted, and killed it, and took flour, and kneaded it, and did bake unleavened bread thereof:
- La femme avait chez elle un veau gras, qu'elle se hâta de tuer; et elle prit de la farine, la pétrit, et en cuisit des pains sans levain. (Ⅱ) - καὶ τη̨̃ γυναικὶ ἠ̃ν δάμαλις νομὰς ἐν τη̨̃ οἰκία̨ καὶ ἔσπευσεν καὶ ἔθυσεν αὐτὴν καὶ ἔλαβεν ἄλευρα καὶ ἐφύρασεν καὶ ἔπεψεν ἄζυμα (Ⅲ) - Mulier autem illa habebat vitulum pascualem in domo, et festinavit, et occidit eum : tollensque farinam, miscuit eam, et coxit azyma, (Ⅳ) - 24 ׃28 ולאשה עגל מרבק בבית ותמהר ותזבחהו ותקח קמח ותלש ותפהו מצות (Ⅴ)

And she brought it before Saul, and before his servants; and they did eat. Then they rose up, and went away that night.
- Elle les mit devant Saül et devant ses serviteurs. Et ils mangèrent. Puis, s'étant levés, ils partirent la nuit même. (Ⅱ) - καὶ προσήγαγεν ἐνώπιον Σαουλ καὶ ἐνώπιον τω̃ν παίδων αὐτου̃ καὶ ἔφαγον καὶ ἀνέστησαν καὶ ἀπη̃λθον τὴν νύκτα ἐκείνην (Ⅲ) - et posuit ante Saul et ante servos ejus. Qui cum comedissent, surrexerunt, et ambulaverunt per totam noctem illam. (Ⅳ) - 25 ׃28 ותגש לפני שאול ולפני עבדיו ויאכלו ויקמו וילכו בלילה ההוא פ (Ⅴ)
