And the Philistines took the ark of God, and brought it from Ebenezer unto Ashdod.

(Ⅱ) - καὶ ἀλλόφυλοι ἔλαβον τὴν κιβωτὸν του̃ θεου̃ καὶ εἰσήνεγκαν αὐτὴν ἐξ Αβεννεζερ εἰς 'Άζωτον (Ⅲ) - Philisthiim autem tulerunt arcam Dei, et asportaverunt eam a lapide Adjutorii in Azotum. (Ⅳ) - 1 ׃5 ופלשתים לקחו את ארון האלהים ויבאהו מאבן העזר אשדודה (Ⅴ)

When the Philistines took the ark of God, they brought it into the house of Dagon, and set it by Dagon.
- Après s'être emparés de l'arche de Dieu, les Philistins la firent entrer dans la maison de Dagon et la placèrent à côté de Dagon. (Ⅱ) - καὶ ἔλαβον ἀλλόφυλοι τὴν κιβωτὸν κυρίου καὶ εἰσήνεγκαν αὐτὴν εἰς οἰ̃κον Δαγων καὶ παρέστησαν αὐτὴν παρὰ Δαγων (Ⅲ) - Tuleruntque Philisthiim arcam Dei, et intulerunt eam in templum Dagon, et statuerunt eam juxta Dagon. (Ⅳ) - 2 ׃5 ויקחו פלשתים את ארון האלהים ויביאו אתו בית דגון ויציגו אתו אצל דגון (Ⅴ)

And when they of Ashdod arose early on the morrow, behold, Dagon was fallen upon his face to the earth before the ark of the LORD. And they took Dagon, and set him in his place again.
- Le lendemain, les Asdodiens, qui s'étaient levés de bon matin, trouvèrent Dagon étendu la face contre terre, devant l'arche de l'Éternel. Ils prirent Dagon, et le remirent à sa place. (Ⅱ) - καὶ ὤρθρισαν οἱ 'Αζώτιοι καὶ εἰση̃λθον εἰς οἰ̃κον Δαγων καὶ εἰ̃δον καὶ ἰδοὺ Δαγων πεπτωκὼς ἐπὶ πρόσωπον αὐτου̃ ἐνώπιον κιβωτου̃ του̃ θεου̃ καὶ ἤγειραν τὸν Δαγων καὶ κατέστησαν εἰς τὸν τόπον αὐτου̃ καὶ ἐβαρύνθη χεὶρ κυρίου ἐπὶ τοὺς 'Αζωτίους καὶ ἐβασάνισεν αὐτοὺς καὶ ἐπάταξεν αὐτοὺς εἰς τὰς ἕδρας αὐτω̃ν τὴν 'Άζωτον καὶ τὰ ὅρια αὐτη̃ς (Ⅲ) - Cumque surrexissent diluculo Azotii altera die, ecce Dagon jacebat pronus in terra ante arcam Domini : et tulerunt Dagon, et restituerunt eum in locum suum. (Ⅳ) - 3 ׃5 וישכמו אשדודים ממחרת והנה דגון נפל לפניו ארצה לפני ארון יהוה ויקחו את דגון וישבו אתו למקומו (Ⅴ)

And when they arose early on the morrow morning, behold, Dagon was fallen upon his face to the ground before the ark of the LORD; and the head of Dagon and both the palms of his hands were cut off upon the threshold; only the stump of Dagon was left to him.
- Le lendemain encore, s'étant levés de bon matin, ils trouvèrent Dagon étendu la face contre terre, devant l'arche de l'Éternel; la tête de Dagon et ses deux mains étaient abattues sur le seuil, et il ne lui restait que le tronc. (Ⅱ) - καὶ ἐγένετο ὅτε ὤρθρισαν τὸ πρωί καὶ ἰδοὺ Δαγων πεπτωκὼς ἐπὶ πρόσωπον αὐτου̃ ἐνώπιον κιβωτου̃ διαθήκης κυρίου καὶ ἡ κεφαλὴ Δαγων καὶ ἀμφότερα τὰ ἴχνη χειρω̃ν αὐτου̃ ἀφη̨ρημένα ἐπὶ τὰ ἐμπρόσθια αμαφεθ ἕκαστον καὶ ἀμφότεροι οἱ καρποὶ τω̃ν χειρω̃ν αὐτου̃ πεπτωκότες ἐπὶ τὸ πρόθυρον πλὴν ἡ ῥάχις Δαγων ὑπελείφθη (Ⅲ) - Rursumque mane die altera consurgentes, invenerunt Dagon jacentem super faciem suam in terra coram arca Domini : caput autem Dagon, et duæ palmæ manuum ejus abscissæ erant super limen : (Ⅳ) - 4 ׃5 וישכמו בבקר ממחרת והנה דגון נפל לפניו ארצה לפני ארון יהוה וראש דגון ושתי כפות ידיו כרתות אל המפתן רק דגון נשאר עליו (Ⅴ)

Therefore neither the priests of Dagon, nor any that come into Dagon's house, tread on the threshold of Dagon in Ashdod unto this day.
- C'est pourquoi jusqu'à ce jour, les prêtres de Dagon et tous ceux qui entrent dans la maison de Dagon à Asdod ne marchent point sur le seuil. (Ⅱ) - διὰ του̃το οὐκ ἐπιβαίνουσιν οἱ ἱερει̃ς Δαγων καὶ πα̃ς ὁ εἰσπορευόμενος εἰς οἰ̃κον Δαγων ἐπὶ βαθμὸν οἴκου Δαγων ἐν 'Αζώτω̨ ἕως τη̃ς ἡμέρας ταύτης ὅτι ὑπερβαίνοντες ὑπερβαίνουσιν (Ⅲ) - porro Dagon solus truncus remanserat in loco suo. Propter hanc causam non calcant sacerdotes Dagon, et omnes qui ingrediuntur templum ejus, super limen Dagon in Azoto, usque in hodiernum diem. (Ⅳ) - 5 ׃5 על כן לא ידרכו כהני דגון וכל הבאים בית דגון על מפתן דגון באשדוד עד היום הזה ס (Ⅴ)

But the hand of the LORD was heavy upon them of Ashdod, and he destroyed them, and smote them with emerods, even Ashdod and the coasts thereof.
- La main de l'Éternel s'appesantit sur les Asdodiens, et il mit la désolation parmi eux; il les frappa d'hémorroïdes à Asdod et dans son territoire. (Ⅱ) - καὶ ἐβαρύνθη χεὶρ κυρίου ἐπὶ 'Άζωτον καὶ ἐπήγαγεν αὐτοι̃ς καὶ ἐξέζεσεν αὐτοι̃ς εἰς τὰς ναυ̃ς καὶ μέσον τη̃ς χώρας αὐτη̃ς ἀνεφύησαν μύες καὶ ἐγένετο σύγχυσις θανάτου μεγάλη ἐν τη̨̃ πόλει (Ⅲ) - Aggravata est autem manus Domini super Azotios, et demolitus est eos : et percussit in secretiori parte natium Azotum, et fines ejus. Et ebullierunt villæ et agri in medio regionis illius, et nati sunt mures et facta est confusio mortis magnæ in civitate. (Ⅳ) - 6 ׃5 ותכבד יד יהוה אל האשדודים וישמם ויך אתם *בעפלים **בטחרים[a] את אשדוד ואת גבוליה (Ⅴ)

And when the men of Ashdod saw that it was so, they said, The ark of the God of Israel shall not abide with us: for his hand is sore upon us, and upon Dagon our god.
- Voyant qu'il en était ainsi, les gens d'Asdod dirent: L'arche du Dieu d'Israël ne restera pas chez nous, car il appesantit sa main sur nous et sur Dagon, notre dieu. (Ⅱ) - καὶ εἰ̃δον οἱ ἄνδρες 'Αζώτου ὅτι οὕτως καὶ λέγουσιν ὅτι οὐ καθήσεται κιβωτὸς του̃ θεου̃ Ισραηλ μεθ' ἡμω̃ν ὅτι σκληρὰ χεὶρ αὐτου̃ ἐφ' ἡμα̃ς καὶ ἐπὶ Δαγων θεὸν ἡμω̃ν (Ⅲ) - Videntes autem viri Azotii hujuscemodi plagam, dixerunt : Non maneat arca Dei Israël apud nos : quoniam dura est manus ejus super nos, et super Dagon deum nostrum. (Ⅳ) - 7 ׃5 ויראו אנשי אשדוד כי כן ואמרו לא ישב ארון אלהי ישראל עמנו כי קשתה ידו עלינו ועל דגון אלהינו (Ⅴ)

They sent therefore and gathered all the lords of the Philistines unto them, and said, What shall we do with the ark of the God of Israel? And they answered, Let the ark of the God of Israel be carried about unto Gath. And they carried the ark of the God of Israel about thither.
- Et ils firent chercher et assemblèrent auprès d'eux tous les princes des Philistins, et ils dirent: Que ferons-nous de l'arche du Dieu d'Israël? Les princes répondirent: Que l'on transporte à Gath l'arche du Dieu d'Israël. Et l'on y transporta l'arche du Dieu d'Israël. (Ⅱ) - καὶ ἀποστέλλουσιν καὶ συνάγουσιν τοὺς σατράπας τω̃ν ἀλλοφύλων πρὸς αὐτοὺς καὶ λέγουσιν τί ποιήσωμεν κιβωτω̨̃ θεου̃ Ισραηλ καὶ λέγουσιν οἱ Γεθθαι̃οι μετελθέτω κιβωτὸς του̃ θεου̃ πρὸς ἡμα̃ς καὶ μετη̃λθεν κιβωτὸς του̃ θεου̃ εἰς Γεθθα (Ⅲ) - Et mittentes congregaverunt omnes satrapas Philisthinorum ad se, et dixerunt : Quid faciemus de arca Dei Israël ? Responderuntque Gethæi : Circumducatur arca Dei Israël. Et circumduxerunt arcam Dei Israël. (Ⅳ) - 8 ׃5 וישלחו ויאספו את כל סרני פלשתים אליהם ויאמרו מה נעשה לארון אלהי ישראל ויאמרו גת יסב ארון אלהי ישראל ויסבו את ארון אלהי ישראל ס (Ⅴ)

And it was so, that, after they had carried it about, the hand of the LORD was against the city with a very great destruction: and he smote the men of the city, both small and great, and they had emerods in their secret parts.
- Mais après qu'elle eut été transportée, la main de l'Éternel fut sur la ville, et il y eut une très grande consternation; il frappa les gens de la ville depuis le petit jusqu'au grand, et ils eurent une éruption d'hémorroïdes. (Ⅱ) - καὶ ἐγενήθη μετὰ τὸ μετελθει̃ν αὐτὴν καὶ γίνεται χεὶρ κυρίου ἐν τη̨̃ πόλει τάραχος μέγας σφόδρα καὶ ἐπάταξεν τοὺς ἄνδρας τη̃ς πόλεως ἀπὸ μικρου̃ ἕως μεγάλου καὶ ἐπάταξεν αὐτοὺς εἰς τὰς ἕδρας αὐτω̃ν καὶ ἐποίησαν ἑαυτοι̃ς οἱ Γεθθαι̃οι ἕδρας (Ⅲ) - Illis autem circumducentibus eam, fiebat manus Domini per singulas civitates interfectionis magnæ nimis : et percutiebat viros uniuscujusque urbis, a parvo usque ad majorem, et computrescebant prominentes extales eorum. Inieruntque Gethæi consilium, et fecerunt sibi sedes pelliceas. (Ⅳ) - 9 ׃5 ויהי אחרי הסבו אתו ותהי יד יהוה בעיר מהומה גדולה מאד ויך את אנשי העיר מקטן ועד גדול וישתרו להם *עפלים **טחרים (Ⅴ)

Therefore they sent the ark of God to Ekron. And it came to pass, as the ark of God came to Ekron, that the Ekronites cried out, saying, They have brought about the ark of the God of Israel to us, to slay us and our people.
- Alors ils envoyèrent l'arche de Dieu à Ékron. Lorsque l'arche de Dieu entra dans Ékron, les Ékroniens poussèrent des cris, en disant: On a transporté chez nous l'arche du Dieu d'Israël, pour nous faire mourir, nous et notre peuple! (Ⅱ) - καὶ ἐξαποστέλλουσιν τὴν κιβωτὸν του̃ θεου̃ εἰς 'Ασκαλω̃να καὶ ἐγενήθη ὡς εἰση̃λθεν κιβωτὸς θεου̃ εἰς 'Ασκαλω̃να καὶ ἐβόησαν οἱ 'Ασκαλωνι̃ται λέγοντες τί ἀπεστρέψατε πρὸς ἡμα̃ς τὴν κιβωτὸν του̃ θεου̃ Ισραηλ θανατω̃σαι ἡμα̃ς καὶ τὸν λαὸν ἡμω̃ν (Ⅲ) - Miserunt ergo arcam Dei in Accaron. Cumque venisset arca Dei in Accaron, exclamaverunt Accaronitæ, dicentes : Adduxerunt ad nos arcam Dei Israël ut interficiat nos et populum nostrum. (Ⅳ) - 10 ׃5 וישלחו את ארון האלהים עקרון ויהי כבוא ארון האלהים עקרון ויזעקו העקרנים לאמר הסבו אלי את ארון אלהי ישראל להמיתני ואת עמי (Ⅴ)

So they sent and gathered together all the lords of the Philistines, and said, Send away the ark of the God of Israel, and let it go again to his own place, that it slay us not, and our people: for there was a deadly destruction throughout all the city; the hand of God was very heavy there.
- Et ils firent chercher et assemblèrent tous les princes des Philistins, et ils dirent: Renvoyez l'arche du Dieu d'Israël; qu'elle retourne en son lieu, et qu'elle ne nous fasse pas mourir, nous et notre peuple. Car il y avait dans toute la ville une terreur mortelle; la main de Dieu s'y appesantissait fortement. (Ⅱ) - καὶ ἐξαποστέλλουσιν καὶ συνάγουσιν τοὺς σατράπας τω̃ν ἀλλοφύλων καὶ εἰ̃πον ἐξαποστείλατε τὴν κιβωτὸν του̃ θεου̃ Ισραηλ καὶ καθισάτω εἰς τὸν τόπον αὐτη̃ς καὶ οὐ μὴ θανατώση̨ ἡμα̃ς καὶ τὸν λαὸν ἡμω̃ν ὅτι ἐγενήθη σύγχυσις θανάτου ἐν ὅλη̨ τη̨̃ πόλει βαρει̃α σφόδρα ὡς εἰση̃λθεν κιβωτὸς θεου̃ Ισραηλ ἐκει̃ (Ⅲ) - Miserunt itaque et congregaverunt omnes satrapas Philisthinorum : qui dixerunt : Dimittite arcam Dei Israël, et revertatur in locum suum, et non interficiat nos cum populo nostro. (Ⅳ) - 11 ׃5 וישלחו ויאספו את כל סרני פלשתים ויאמרו שלחו את ארון אלהי ישראל וישב למקמו ולא ימית אתי ואת עמי כי היתה מהומת מות בכל העיר כבדה מאד יד האלהים שם (Ⅴ)

And the men that died not were smitten with the emerods: and the cry of the city went up to heaven.
- Les gens qui ne mouraient pas étaient frappés d'hémorroïdes, et les cris de la ville montaient jusqu'au ciel. (Ⅱ) - καὶ οἱ ζω̃ντες καὶ οὐκ ἀποθανόντες ἐπλήγησαν εἰς τὰς ἕδρας καὶ ἀνέβη ἡ κραυγὴ τη̃ς πόλεως εἰς τὸν οὐρανόν (Ⅲ) - Fiebat enim pavor mortis in singulis urbibus, et gravissima valde manus Dei. Viri quoque qui mortui non fuerant, percutiebantur in secretiori parte natium : et ascendebat ululatus uniuscujusque civitatis in cælum. (Ⅳ) - 12 ׃5 והאנשים אשר לא מתו הכו *בעפלים **בטחרים[a] ותעל שועת העיר השמים (Ⅴ)
