Then they told David, saying, Behold, the Philistines fight against Keilah, and they rob the threshingfloors.
- On vint dire à David: Voici, les Philistins ont attaqué Keïla, et ils pillent les aires. (Ⅱ) - καὶ ἀπηγγέλη τω̨̃ Δαυιδ λέγοντες ἰδοὺ οἱ ἀλλόφυλοι πολεμου̃σιν ἐν τη̨̃ Κεϊλα καὶ αὐτοὶ διαρπάζουσιν καταπατου̃σιν τοὺς ἅλω (Ⅲ) - Et annuntiaverunt David, dicentes : Ecce Philisthiim oppugnant Ceilam et diripiunt areas. (Ⅳ) - 1 ׃23 ויגדו לדוד לאמר הנה פלשתים נלחמים בקעילה והמה שסים את הגרנות (Ⅴ)

Therefore David inquired of the LORD, saying, Shall I go and smite these Philistines? And the LORD said unto David, Go, and smite the Philistines, and save Keilah.
- David consulta l'Éternel, en disant: Irai-je, et battrai-je ces Philistins? Et l'Éternel lui répondit: Va, tu battras les Philistins, et tu délivreras Keïla. (Ⅱ) - καὶ ἐπηρώτησεν Δαυιδ διὰ του̃ κυρίου λέγων εἰ πορευθω̃ καὶ πατάξω τοὺς ἀλλοφύλους τούτους καὶ εἰ̃πεν κύριος πορεύου καὶ πατάξεις ἐν τοι̃ς ἀλλοφύλοις τούτοις καὶ σώσεις τὴν Κεϊλα (Ⅲ) - Consuluit ergo David Dominum, dicens : Num vadam, et percutiam Philisthæos istos ? And David's men said unto him, Behold, we be afraid here in Judah: how much more then if we come to Keilah against the armies of the Philistines?
- Mais les gens de David lui dirent: Voici, nous ne sommes pas sans crainte ici même en Juda; que sera-ce si nous allons à Keïla contre les troupes des Philistins? (Ⅱ) - καὶ εἰ̃παν οἱ ἄνδρες του̃ Δαυιδ πρὸς αὐτόν ἰδοὺ ἡμει̃ς ἐνταυ̃θα ἐν τη̨̃ Ιουδαία̨ φοβούμεθα καὶ πω̃ς ἔσται ἐὰν πορευθω̃μεν εἰς Κεϊλα εἰς τὰ σκυ̃λα τω̃ν ἀλλοφύλων εἰσπορευσόμεθα (Ⅲ) - Et dixerunt viri qui erant cum David ad eum : Ecce nos hic in Judæa consistentes timemus : quanto magis si ierimus in Ceilam adversum agmina Philisthinorum ? Then David inquired of the LORD yet again. And the LORD answered him and said, Arise, go down to Keilah; for I will deliver the Philistines into thine hand.
- David consulta encore l'Éternel. Et l'Éternel lui répondit: Lève-toi, descends à Keïla, car je livre les Philistins entre tes mains. (Ⅱ) - καὶ προσέθετο Δαυιδ ἐρωτη̃σαι ἔτι διὰ του̃ κυρίου καὶ ἀπεκρίθη αὐτω̨̃ κύριος καὶ εἰ̃πεν πρὸς αὐτόν ἀνάστηθι καὶ κατάβηθι εἰς Κεϊλα ὅτι ἐγὼ παραδίδωμι τοὺς ἀλλοφύλους εἰς χει̃ράς σου (Ⅲ) - Rursum ergo David consuluit Dominum. Qui respondens, ait ei : Surge, et vade in Ceilam : ego enim tradam Philisthæos in manu tua. (Ⅳ) - 4 ׃23 ויוסף עוד דוד לשאל ביהוה סויענהו יהוה ויאמר קום רד קעילה כי אני נתן את פלשתים בידך (Ⅴ)

So David and his men went to Keilah, and fought with the Philistines, and brought away their cattle, and smote them with a great slaughter. So David saved the inhabitants of Keilah.
- David alla donc avec ses gens à Keïla, et il se battit contre les Philistins; il emmena leur bétail, et leur fit éprouver une grande défaite. Ainsi David délivra les habitants de Keïla. (Ⅱ) - καὶ ἐπορεύθη Δαυιδ καὶ οἱ ἄνδρες οἱ μετ' αὐτου̃ εἰς Κεϊλα καὶ ἐπολέμησεν ἐν τοι̃ς ἀλλοφύλοις καὶ ἔφυγον ἐκ προσώπου αὐτου̃ καὶ ἀπήγαγεν τὰ κτήνη αὐτω̃ν καὶ ἐπάταξεν ἐν αὐτοι̃ς πληγὴν μεγάλην καὶ ἔσωσεν Δαυιδ τοὺς κατοικου̃ντας Κεϊλα (Ⅲ) - Abiit ergo David et viri ejus in Ceilam, et pugnavit adversum Philisthæos : et abegit jumenta eorum, et percussit eos plaga magna : et salvavit David habitatores Ceilæ. And it came to pass, when Abiathar the son of Ahimelech fled to David to Keilah, that he came down with an ephod in his hand.
- Lorsque Abiathar, fils d'Achimélec, s'enfuit vers David à Keïla, il descendit ayant en main l'éphod. (Ⅱ) - καὶ ἐγένετο ἐν τω̨̃ φυγει̃ν Αβιαθαρ υἱὸν Αβιμελεχ πρὸς Δαυιδ καὶ αὐτὸς μετὰ Δαυιδ εἰς Κεϊλα κατέβη ἔχων εφουδ ἐν τη̨̃ χειρὶ αὐτου̃ (Ⅲ) - Porro eo tempore quo fugiebat Abiathar filius Achimelech ad David in Ceilam, ephod secum habens descenderat.\ (Ⅳ) - 6 ׃23 ויהי בברח אביתר בן אחימלך אל דוד קעילה אפוד ירד בידו (Ⅴ)

And it was told Saul that David was come to Keilah. And Saul said, God hath delivered him into mine hand; for he is shut in, by entering into a town that hath gates and bars.
- Saül fut informé de l'arrivée de David à Keïla, et il dit: Dieu le livre entre mes mains, car il est venu s'enfermer dans une ville qui a des portes et des barres. (Ⅱ) - καὶ ἀπηγγέλη τω̨̃ Σαουλ ὅτι ἥκει Δαυιδ εἰς Κεϊλα καὶ εἰ̃πεν Σαουλ πέπρακεν αὐτὸν ὁ θεὸς εἰς χει̃ράς μου ὅτι ἀποκέκλεισται εἰσελθὼν εἰς πόλιν θυρω̃ν καὶ μοχλω̃ν (Ⅲ) - Nuntiatum est autem Sauli quod venisset David in Ceilam : et ait Saul : Tradidit eum Deus in manus meas, conclususque est introgressus urbem, in qua portæ et seræ sunt. (Ⅳ) - 7 ׃23 ויגד לשאול כי בא דוד קעילה ויאמר שאול נכר אתו אלהים בידי כי נסגר לבוא בעיר דלתים ובריח (Ⅴ)

And Saul called all the people together to war, to go down to Keilah, to besiege David and his men.
- Et Saül convoqua tout le peuple à la guerre, afin de descendre à Keïla et d'assiéger David et ses gens. (Ⅱ) - καὶ παρήγγειλεν Σαουλ παντὶ τω̨̃ λαω̨̃ εἰς πόλεμον καταβαίνειν εἰς Κεϊλα συνέχειν τὸν Δαυιδ καὶ τοὺς ἄνδρας αὐτου̃ (Ⅲ) - Et præcepit Saul omni populo ut ad pugnam descenderet in Ceilam, et obsideret David et viros ejus. (Ⅳ) - 8 ׃23 וישמע שאול את כל העם למלחמה לרדת קעילה לצור אל דוד ואל אנשיו (Ⅴ)

And David knew that Saul secretly practiced mischief against him; and he said to Abiathar the priest, Bring hither the ephod.
- David, ayant eu connaissance du mauvais dessein que Saül projetait contre lui, dit au sacrificateur Abiathar: Apporte l'éphod! (Ⅱ) - καὶ ἔγνω Δαυιδ ὅτι οὐ παρασιωπα̨̃ Σαουλ περὶ αὐτου̃ τὴν κακίαν καὶ εἰ̃πεν Δαυιδ πρὸς Αβιαθαρ τὸν ἱερέα προσάγαγε τὸ εφουδ κυρίου (Ⅲ) - Quod cum David rescisset quia præpararet ei Saul clam malum, dixit ad Abiathar sacerdotem : Applica ephod. (Ⅳ) - 9 ׃23 וידע דוד כי עליו שאול מחריש הרעה ויאמר אל אביתר הכהן הגישה האפוד ס (Ⅴ)

Then said David, O LORD God of Israel, thy servant hath certainly heard that Saul seeketh to come to Keilah, to destroy the city for my sake.
- Et David dit: Éternel, Dieu d'Israël, ton serviteur apprend que Saül veut venir à Keïla pour détruire la ville à cause de moi. (Ⅱ) - καὶ εἰ̃πεν Δαυιδ κύριε ὁ θεὸς Ισραηλ ἀκούων ἀκήκοεν ὁ δου̃λός σου ὅτι ζητει̃ Σαουλ ἐλθει̃ν ἐπὶ Κεϊλα διαφθει̃ραι τὴν πόλιν δι' ἐμέ (Ⅲ) - Et ait David : Domine Deus Israël, audivit famam servus tuus, quod disponat Saul venire in Ceilam, ut evertat urbem propter me : (Ⅳ) - 10 ׃23 ויאמר דוד יהוה אלהי ישראל שמע שמע עבדך כי מבקש שאול לבוא אל קעילה לשחת לעיר בעבורי (Ⅴ)

Will the men of Keilah deliver me up into his hand? will Saul come down, as thy servant hath heard? O LORD God of Israel, I beseech thee, tell thy servant. And the LORD said, He will come down.
- Les habitants de Keïla me livreront-ils entre ses mains? Saül descendra-t-il, comme ton serviteur l'a appris? Éternel, Dieu d'Israël, daigne le révéler à ton serviteur! Et l'Éternel répondit: Il descendra. (Ⅱ) - εἰ ἀποκλεισθήσεται καὶ νυ̃ν εἰ καταβήσεται Σαουλ καθὼς ἤκουσεν ὁ δου̃λός σου κύριε ὁ θεὸς Ισραηλ ἀπάγγειλον τω̨̃ δούλω̨ σου καὶ εἰ̃πεν κύριος ἀποκλεισθήσεται (Ⅲ) - si tradent me viri Ceilæ in manus ejus ? et si descendet Saul, sicut audivit servus tuus ? Domine Deus Israël, indica servo tuo. Et ait Dominus : Descendet. (Ⅳ) - 11 ׃23 היסגרני בעלי קעילה בידו הירד שאול כאשר שמע עבדך יהוה אלהי ישראל הגד נא לעבדך סויאמר יהוה ירד (Ⅴ)

Then said David, Will the men of Keilah deliver me and my men into the hand of Saul? And the LORD said, They will deliver thee up.
- David dit encore: Les habitants de Keïla me livreront-ils, moi et mes gens, entre les mains de Saül? Et l'Éternel répondit: Ils te livreront. (Ⅱ) - Dixitque David : Si tradent me viri Ceilæ, et viros qui sunt mecum, in manus Saul ? Et dixit Dominus : Tradent. (Ⅳ) - 12 ׃23 ויאמר דוד היסגרו בעלי קעילה אתי ואת אנשי ביד שאול ויאמר יהוה יסגירו ס (Ⅴ)

Then David and his men, which were about six hundred, arose and departed out of Keilah, and went whithersoever they could go. And it was told Saul that David was escaped from Keilah; and he forbare to go forth.
- Alors David se leva avec ses gens au nombre d'environ six cents hommes; ils sortirent de Keïla, et s'en allèrent où ils purent. Saül, informé que David s'était sauvé de Keïla, suspendit sa marche. (Ⅱ) - καὶ ἀνέστη Δαυιδ καὶ οἱ ἄνδρες οἱ μετ' αὐτου̃ ὡς τετρακόσιοι καὶ ἐξη̃λθον ἐκ Κεϊλα καὶ ἐπορεύοντο οὑ̃ ἐὰν ἐπορεύθησαν καὶ τω̨̃ Σαουλ ἀπηγγέλη ὅτι διασέσωται Δαυιδ ἐκ Κεϊλα καὶ ἀνη̃κεν του̃ ἐξελθει̃ν (Ⅲ) - Surrexit ergo David et viri ejus quasi sexcenti, et egressi de Ceila, huc atque illuc vagabantur incerti : nuntiatumque est Sauli quod fugisset David de Ceila, et salvatus esset : quam ob rem dissimulavit exire. (Ⅳ) - 13 ׃23 ויקם דוד ואנשיו כשש מאות איש ויצאו מקעלה ויתהלכו באשר יתהלכו ולשאול הגד כי נמלט דוד מקעילה ויחדל לצאת (Ⅴ)

And David abode in the wilderness in strong holds, and remained in a mountain in the wilderness of Ziph. And Saul sought him every day, but God delivered him not into his hand.
- David demeura au désert, dans des lieux forts, et il resta sur la montagne du désert de Ziph. Saül le cherchait toujours, mais Dieu ne le livra pas entre ses mains. (Ⅱ) - καὶ ἐκάθισεν Δαυιδ ἐν τη̨̃ ἐρήμω̨ ἐν Μασερεμ ἐν τοι̃ς στενοι̃ς καὶ ἐκάθητο ἐν τη̨̃ ἐρήμω̨ ἐν τω̨̃ ὄρει Ζιφ ἐν τη̨̃ γη̨̃ τη̨̃ αὐχμώδει καὶ ἐζήτει αὐτὸν Σαουλ πάσας τὰς ἡμέρας καὶ οὐ παρέδωκεν αὐτὸν κύριος εἰς τὰς χει̃ρας αὐτου̃ (Ⅲ) - Morabatur autem David in deserto in locis firmissimis, mansitque in monte solitudinis Ziph, in monte opaco : quærebat eum tamen Saul cunctis diebus, et non tradidit eum Deus in manus ejus. (Ⅳ) - 14 ׃23 וישב דוד במדבר במצדות וישב בהר במדבר זיף ויבקשהו שאול כל הימים ולא נתנו אלהים בידו (Ⅴ)

And David saw that Saul was come out to seek his life: and David was in the wilderness of Ziph in a wood.
- David, voyant Saül en marche pour attenter à sa vie, se tint au désert de Ziph, dans la forêt. (Ⅱ) - καὶ εἰ̃δεν Δαυιδ ὅτι ἐξέρχεται Σαουλ του̃ ζητει̃ν τὸν Δαυιδ καὶ Δαυιδ ἐν τω̨̃ ὄρει τω̨̃ αὐχμώδει ἐν τη̨̃ Καινη̨̃ Ζιφ (Ⅲ) - Et vidit David quod egressus esset Saul ut quæreret animam ejus. Porro David erat in deserto Ziph in silva. (Ⅳ) - 15 ׃23 וירא דוד[1] כי יצא שאול לבקש את נפשו ודוד במדבר זיף בחרשה ס (Ⅴ)

And Jonathan Saul's son arose, and went to David into the wood, and strengthened his hand in God.
- Ce fut alors que Jonathan, fils de Saül, se leva et alla vers David dans la forêt. Il fortifia sa confiance en Dieu, (Ⅱ) - καὶ ἀνέστη Ιωναθαν υἱὸς Σαουλ καὶ ἐπορεύθη πρὸς Δαυιδ εἰς Καινὴν καὶ ἐκραταίωσεν τὰς χει̃ρας αὐτου̃ ἐν κυρίω̨ (Ⅲ) - Et surrexit Jonathas filius Saul, et abiit ad David in silvam, et confortavit manus ejus in Deo : dixitque ei : (Ⅳ) - 16 ׃23 ויקם יהונתן בן שאול וילך אל דוד חרשה ויחזק את ידו באלהים (Ⅴ)

And he said unto him, Fear not: for the hand of Saul my father shall not find thee; and thou shalt be king over Israel, and I shall be next unto thee; and that also Saul my father knoweth.
- et lui dit: Ne crains rien, car la main de Saül, mon père, ne t'atteindra pas. Tu régneras sur Israël, et moi je serai au second rang près de toi; Saül, mon père, le sait bien aussi. (Ⅱ) - καὶ εἰ̃πεν πρὸς αὐτόν μὴ φοβου̃ ὅτι οὐ μὴ εὕρη̨ σε ἡ χεὶρ Σαουλ του̃ πατρός μου καὶ σὺ βασιλεύσεις ἐπὶ Ισραηλ καὶ ἐγὼ ἔσομαί σοι εἰς δεύτερον καὶ Σαουλ ὁ πατήρ μου οἰ̃δεν οὕτως (Ⅲ) - Ne timeas : neque enim inveniet te manus Saul patris mei, et tu regnabis super Israël, et ego ero tibi secundus : sed et Saul pater meus scit hoc. (Ⅳ) - 17 ׃23 ויאמר אליו אל תירא כי לא תמצאך יד שאול אבי ואתה תמלך על ישראל ואנכי אהיה לך למשנה וגם שאול אבי ידע כן (Ⅴ)

And they two made a covenant before the LORD: and David abode in the wood, and Jonathan went to his house.
- Ils firent tous deux alliance devant l'Éternel; et David resta dans la forêt, et Jonathan s'en alla chez lui. (Ⅱ) - καὶ διέθεντο ἀμφότεροι διαθήκην ἐνώπιον κυρίου καὶ ἐκάθητο Δαυιδ ἐν Καινη̨̃ καὶ Ιωναθαν ἀπη̃λθεν εἰς οἰ̃κον αὐτου̃ (Ⅲ) - Percussit ergo uterque fœdus coram Domino : mansitque David in silva, Jonathas autem reversus est in domum suam.\ (Ⅳ) - 18 ׃23 ויכרתו שניהם ברית לפני יהוה וישב דוד בחרשה ויהונתן הלך לביתו ס (Ⅴ)

Then came up the Ziphites to Saul to Gibeah, saying, Doth not David hide himself with us in strong holds in the wood, in the hill of Hachilah, which is on the south of Jeshimon?
- Les Ziphiens montèrent auprès de Saül à Guibea, et dirent: David n'est-il pas caché parmi nous dans des lieux forts, dans la forêt, sur la colline de Hakila, qui est au midi du désert? (Ⅱ) - καὶ ἀνέβησαν οἱ Ζιφαι̃οι ἐκ τη̃ς αὐχμώδους πρὸς Σαουλ ἐπὶ τὸν βουνὸν λέγοντες οὐκ ἰδοὺ Δαυιδ κέκρυπται παρ' ἡμι̃ν ἐν Μεσσαρα ἐν τοι̃ς στενοι̃ς ἐν τη̨̃ Καινη̨̃ ἐν τω̨̃ βουνω̨̃ του̃ Εχελα του̃ ἐκ δεξιω̃ν του̃ Ιεσσαιμουν (Ⅲ) - Ascenderunt autem Ziphæi ad Saul in Gabaa, dicentes : Nonne ecce David latitat apud nos in locis tutissimis silvæ, in colle Hachila, quæ est ad dexteram deserti ? (Ⅳ) - 19 ׃23 ויעלו זפים אל שאול הגבעתה לאמר הלוא דוד מסתתר עמנו במצדות בחרשה בגבעת החכילה אשר מימין הישימון (Ⅴ)

Now therefore, O king, come down according to all the desire of thy soul to come down; and our part shall be to deliver him into the king's hand.
- Descends donc, ô roi, puisque c'est là tout le désir de ton âme; et à nous de le livrer entre les mains du roi. (Ⅱ) - καὶ νυ̃ν πα̃ν τὸ πρὸς ψυχὴν του̃ βασιλέως εἰς κατάβασιν καταβαινέτω πρὸς ἡμα̃ς κεκλείκασιν αὐτὸν εἰς τὰς χει̃ρας του̃ βασιλέως (Ⅲ) - Nunc ergo, sicut desideravit anima tua ut descenderes, descende : nostrum autem erit ut tradamus eum in manus regis. (Ⅳ) - 20 ׃23 ועתה לכל אות נפשך המלך לרדת רד ולנו הסגירו ביד המלך (Ⅴ)

And Saul said, Blessed be ye of the LORD; for ye have compassion on me.
- Saül dit: Que l'Éternel vous bénisse de ce que vous avez pitié de moi! (Ⅱ) - καὶ εἰ̃πεν αὐτοι̃ς Σαουλ εὐλογημένοι ὑμει̃ς τω̨̃ κυρίω̨ ὅτι ἐπονέσατε περὶ ἐμου̃ (Ⅲ) - Dixitque Saul : Benedicti vos a Domino, quia doluistis vicem meam. (Ⅳ) - 21 ׃23 ויאמר שאול ברוכים אתם ליהוה כי חמלתם עלי (Ⅴ)

Go, I pray you, prepare yet, and know and see his place where his haunt is, and who hath seen him there: for it is told me that he dealeth very subtilly.
- Allez, je vous prie, prenez encore des informations pour savoir et découvrir dans quel lieu il a dirigé ses pas et qui l'y a vu, car il est, m'a-t-on dit, fort rusé. (Ⅱ) - πορεύθητε δὴ καὶ ἑτοιμάσατε ἔτι καὶ γνω̃τε τὸν τόπον αὐτου̃ οὑ̃ ἔσται ὁ ποὺς αὐτου̃ ἐν τάχει ἐκει̃ οὑ̃ εἴπατε μήποτε πανουργεύσηται (Ⅲ) - Abite ergo, oro, et diligentius præparate, et curiosius agite, et considerate locum ubi sit pes ejus, vel quis viderit eum ibi : recogitat enim de me, quod callide insidier ei. (Ⅳ) - 22 ׃23 לכו נא הכינו עוד ודעו וראו את מקומו אשר תהיה רגלו מי ראהו שם כי אמר אלי ערום יערם הוא (Ⅴ)

See therefore, and take knowledge of all the lurking places where he hideth himself, and come ye again to me with the certainty, and I will go with you: and it shall come to pass, if he be in the land, that I will search him out throughout all the thousands of Judah.
- Examinez et reconnaissez tous les lieux où il se cache, puis revenez vers moi avec quelque chose de certain, et je partirai avec vous. S'il est dans le pays, je le chercherai parmi tous les milliers de Juda. (Ⅱ) - καὶ ἴδετε καὶ γνω̃τε καὶ πορευσόμεθα μεθ' ὑμω̃ν καὶ ἔσται εἰ ἔστιν ἐπὶ τη̃ς γη̃ς καὶ ἐξερευνήσω αὐτὸν ἐν πάσαις χιλιάσιν Ιουδα (Ⅲ) - Considerate, et videte omnia latibula ejus in quibus absconditur : et revertimini ad me ad rem certam, ut vadam vobiscum. Quod si etiam in terram se abstruserit, perscrutabor eum in cunctis millibus Juda.\ (Ⅳ) - 23 ׃23 וראו ודעו מכל המחבאים אשר יתחבא שם ושבתם אלי אל נכון והלכתי אתכם והיה אם ישנו בארץ וחפשתי אתו בכל אלפי יהודה (Ⅴ)

And they arose, and went to Ziph before Saul: but David and his men were in the wilderness of Maon, in the plain on the south of Jeshimon.

(Ⅱ) - καὶ ἀνέστησαν οἱ Ζιφαι̃οι καὶ ἐπορεύθησαν ἔμπροσθεν Σαουλ καὶ Δαυιδ καὶ οἱ ἄνδρες αὐτου̃ ἐν τη̨̃ ἐρήμω̨ τη̨̃ Μααν καθ' ἑσπέραν ἐκ δεξιω̃ν του̃ Ιεσσαιμουν (Ⅲ) - At illi surgentes abierunt in Ziph ante Saul : David autem et viri ejus erant in deserto Maon, in campestribus ad dexteram Jesimon. Saul also and his men went to seek him. And they told David; wherefore he came down into a rock, and abode in the wilderness of Maon. And when Saul heard that, he pursued after David in the wilderness of Maon.
- Saül partit avec ses gens à la recherche de David. Et l'on en informa David, qui descendit le rocher et resta dans le désert de Maon. Saül, l'ayant appris, poursuivit David au désert de Maon. (Ⅱ) - καὶ ἐπορεύθη Σαουλ καὶ οἱ ἄνδρες αὐτου̃ ζητει̃ν αὐτόν καὶ ἀπήγγειλαν τω̨̃ Δαυιδ καὶ κατέβη εἰς τὴν πέτραν τὴν ἐν τη̨̃ ἐρήμω̨ Μααν καὶ ἤκουσεν Σαουλ καὶ κατεδίωξεν ὀπίσω Δαυιδ εἰς τὴν ἔρημον Μααν (Ⅲ) - Ivit ergo Saul et socii ejus ad quærendum eum. Et nuntiatum est David : statimque descendit ad petram, et versabatur in deserto Maon : quod cum audisset Saul, persecutus est David in deserto Maon. (Ⅳ) - 25 ׃23 וילך שאול ואנשיו לבקש ויגדו לדוד וירד הסלע וישב במדבר מעון וישמע שאול וירדף אחרי דוד מדבר מעון (Ⅴ)

And Saul went on this side of the mountain, and David and his men on that side of the mountain: and David made haste to get away for fear of Saul; for Saul and his men compassed David and his men round about to take them.
- Saül marchait d'un côté de la montagne, et David avec ses gens de l'autre côté de la montagne. David fuyait précipitamment pour échapper à Saül. Mais déjà Saül et ses gens entouraient David et les siens pour s'emparer d'eux, (Ⅱ) - καὶ πορεύονται Σαουλ καὶ οἱ ἄνδρες αὐτου̃ ἐκ μέρους του̃ ὄρους τούτου καὶ ἠ̃ν Δαυιδ καὶ οἱ ἄνδρες αὐτου̃ ἐκ μέρους του̃ ὄρους τούτου καὶ ἠ̃ν Δαυιδ σκεπαζόμενος πορεύεσθαι ἀπὸ προσώπου Σαουλ καὶ Σαουλ καὶ οἱ ἄνδρες αὐτου̃ παρενέβαλον ἐπὶ Δαυιδ καὶ τοὺς ἄνδρας αὐτου̃ συλλαβει̃ν αὐτούς (Ⅲ) - Et ibat Saul ad latus montis ex parte una : David autem et viri ejus erant in latere montis ex parte altera. Porro David desperabat se posse evadere a facie Saul : itaque Saul et viri ejus in modum coronæ cingebant David et viros ejus, ut caperent eos. (Ⅳ) - 26 ׃23 וילך שאול מצד ההר מזה ודוד ואנשיו מצד ההר מזה ויהי דוד נחפז ללכת מפני שאול ושאול ואנשיו עטרים אל דוד ואל אנשיו לתפשם (Ⅴ)

But there came a messenger unto Saul, saying, Haste thee, and come; for the Philistines have invaded the land.
- lorsqu'un messager vint dire à Saül: Hâte-toi de venir, car les Philistins ont fait invasion dans le pays. (Ⅱ) - καὶ ἄγγελος πρὸς Σαουλ ἠ̃λθεν λέγων σπευ̃δε καὶ δευ̃ρο ὅτι ἐπέθεντο οἱ ἀλλόφυλοι ἐπὶ τὴν γη̃ν (Ⅲ) - Et nuntius venit ad Saul, dicens : Festina, et veni, quoniam infuderunt se Philisthiim super terram. (Ⅳ) - 27 ׃23 ומלאך בא אל שאול לאמר מהרה ולכה כי פשטו פלשתים על הארץ (Ⅴ)

Wherefore Saul returned from pursuing after David, and went against the Philistines: therefore they called that place Selahammahlekoth.
- Saül cessa de poursuivre David, et il s'en retourna pour aller à la rencontre des Philistins. C'est pourquoi l'on appela ce lieu Séla Hammachlekoth. (Ⅱ) - καὶ ἀνέστρεψεν Σαουλ μὴ καταδιώκειν ὀπίσω Δαυιδ καὶ ἐπορεύθη εἰς συνάντησιν τω̃ν ἀλλοφύλων διὰ του̃το ἐπεκλήθη ὁ τόπος ἐκει̃νος Πέτρα ἡ μερισθει̃σα (Ⅲ) - Reversus est ergo Saul desistens persequi David, et perrexit in occursum Philisthinorum : propter hoc vocaverunt locum illum, Petram dividentem. (Ⅳ) - 28 ׃23 וישב שאול מרדף אחרי דוד וילך לקראת פלשתים על כן קראו למקום ההוא סלע המחלקות (Ⅴ)

And David went up from thence, and dwelt in strong holds at Engedi.
- De là David monta vers les lieux forts d'En Guédi, où il demeura. (Ⅱ) - Ascendit ergo David inde : et habitavit in locis tutissimis Engaddi. (Ⅳ) - 1 ׃24 ויעל דוד משם וישב במצדות עין גדי (Ⅴ)
