And it came to pass, when king Hezekiah heard it, that he rent his clothes, and covered himself with sackcloth, and went into the house of the LORD.
- Lorsque le roi Ézéchias eut entendu cela, il déchira ses vêtements, se couvrit d'un sac, et alla dans la maison de l'Éternel. (Ⅱ) - καὶ ἐγένετο ἐν τω̨̃ ἀκου̃σαι τὸν βασιλέα Εζεκιαν ἔσχισεν τὰ ἱμάτια καὶ σάκκον περιεβάλετο καὶ ἀνέβη εἰς τὸν οἰ̃κον κυρίου (Ⅲ) - Et factum est, cum audisset rex Ezechias, scidit vestimenta sua, et obvolutus est sacco, et intravit in domum Domini. (Ⅳ) - 1 ׃37 ויהי כשמע המלך חזקיהו ויקרע את בגדיו ויתכס בשק ויבא בית יהוה (Ⅴ)

And he sent Eliakim, who was over the household, and Shebna the scribe, and the elders of the priests covered with sackcloth, unto Isaiah the prophet the son of Amoz.
- Il envoya Éliakim, chef de la maison du roi, Schebna, le secrétaire, et les plus anciens des sacrificateurs, couverts de sacs, vers Ésaïe, le prophète, fils d'Amots. (Ⅱ) - καὶ ἀπέστειλεν Ελιακιμ τὸν οἰκονόμον καὶ Σομναν τὸν γραμματέα καὶ τοὺς πρεσβυτέρους τω̃ν ἱερέων περιβεβλημένους σάκκους πρὸς Ησαιαν υἱὸν Αμως τὸν προφήτην (Ⅲ) - Et misit Eliacim, qui erat super domum, et Sobnam scribam, et seniores de sacerdotibus, opertos saccis, ad Isaiam, filium Amos, prophetam, (Ⅳ) - 2 ׃37 וישלח את אליקים אשר על הבית ואת שבנא הסופר ואת זקני הכהנים מתכסים בשקים אל ישעיהו בן אמוץ הנביא (Ⅴ)

And they said unto him, Thus saith Hezekiah, This day is a day of trouble, and of rebuke, and of blasphemy: for the children are come to the birth, and there is not strength to bring forth.
- Et ils lui dirent: Ainsi parle Ézéchias: Ce jour est un jour d'angoisse, de châtiment et d'opprobre; car les enfants sont près de sortir du sein maternel, et il n'y a point de force pour l'enfantement. (Ⅱ) - καὶ εἰ̃παν αὐτω̨̃ τάδε λέγει Εζεκιας ἡμέρα θλίψεως καὶ ὀνειδισμου̃ καὶ ἐλεγμου̃ καὶ ὀργη̃ς ἡ σήμερον ἡμέρα ὅτι ἥκει ἡ ὠδὶν τη̨̃ τικτούση̨ ἰσχὺν δὲ οὐκ ἔχει του̃ τεκει̃ν (Ⅲ) - et dixerunt ad eum : Hæc dicit Ezechias : Dies tribulationis, et correptionis, et blasphemiæ, dies hæc ; quia venerunt filii usque ad partum, et virtus non est pariendi. (Ⅳ) - 3 ׃37 ויאמרו אליו כה אמר חזקיהו יום צרה ותוכחה ונאצה היום הזה כי באו בנים עד משבר וכח אין ללדה (Ⅴ)

It may be the LORD thy God will hear the words of Rabshakeh, whom the king of Assyria his master hath sent to reproach the living God, and will reprove the words which the LORD thy God hath heard: wherefore lift up thy prayer for the remnant that is left.
- Peut-être l'Éternel, ton Dieu, a-t-il entendu les paroles de Rabschaké, que le roi d'Assyrie, son maître, a envoyé pour insulter le Dieu vivant, et peut-être l'Éternel, ton Dieu, exercera-t-il ses châtiments à cause des paroles qu'il a entendues. Fais donc monter une prière pour le reste qui subsiste encore. (Ⅱ) - εἰσακούσαι κύριος ὁ θεός σου τοὺς λόγους Ραψακου οὓς ἀπέστειλεν βασιλεὺς 'Ασσυρίων ὀνειδίζειν θεὸν ζω̃ντα καὶ ὀνειδίζειν λόγους οὓς ἤκουσεν κύριος ὁ θεός σου καὶ δεηθήση̨ πρὸς κύριον τὸν θεόν σου περὶ τω̃ν καταλελειμμένων τούτων (Ⅲ) - Si quomodo audiat Dominus Deus tuus verba Rabsacis, quem misit rex Assyriorum dominus suus ad blasphemandum Deum viventem et exprobrandum sermonibus quos audivit Dominus Deus tuus : leva ergo orationem pro reliquiis quæ repertæ sunt. (Ⅳ) - 4 ׃37 אולי ישמע יהוה אלהיך את דברי רב שקה אשר שלחו מלך אשור אדניו לחרף אלהים חי והוכיח בדברים אשר שמע יהוה אלהיך ונשאת תפלה בעד השארית הנמצאה (Ⅴ)

So the servants of king Hezekiah came to Isaiah.

And Isaiah said unto them, Thus shall ye say unto your master, Thus saith the LORD, Be not afraid of the words that thou hast heard, wherewith the servants of the king of Assyria have blasphemed me.
- Et Ésaïe leur dit: Voici ce que vous direz à votre maître: Ainsi parle l'Éternel: Ne t'effraie point des paroles que tu as entendues et par lesquelles m'ont outragé les serviteurs du roi d'Assyrie. (Ⅱ) - καὶ εἰ̃πεν αὐτοι̃ς Ησαιας οὕτως ἐρει̃τε πρὸς τὸν κύριον ὑμω̃ν τάδε λέγει κύριος μὴ φοβηθη̨̃ς ἀπὸ τω̃ν λόγων ὡ̃ν ἤκουσας οὓς ὠνείδισάν με οἱ πρέσβεις βασιλέως 'Ασσυρίων (Ⅲ) - Et dixit ad eos Isaias : Hæc dicetis domino vestro : Hæc dicit Dominus : Ne timeas a facie verborum quæ audisti, quibus blasphemaverunt pueri regis Assyriorum me. (Ⅳ) - 6 ׃37 ויאמר אליהם ישעיהו כה תאמרון אל אדניכם כה אמר יהוה אל תירא מפני הדברים אשר שמעת אשר גדפו נערי מלך אשור אותי (Ⅴ)

Behold, I will send a blast upon him, and he shall hear a rumour, and return to his own land; and I will cause him to fall by the sword in his own land.
- Je vais mettre en lui un esprit tel que, sur une nouvelle qu'il recevra, il retournera dans son pays; et je le ferai tomber par l'épée dans son pays. (Ⅱ) - ἰδοὺ ἐγὼ ἐμβαλω̃ εἰς αὐτὸν πνευ̃μα καὶ ἀκούσας ἀγγελίαν ἀποστραφήσεται εἰς τὴν χώραν αὐτου̃ καὶ πεσει̃ται μαχαίρα̨ ἐν τη̨̃ γη̨̃ αὐτου̃ (Ⅲ) - Ecce ego dabo ei spiritum, et audiet nuntium, et revertetur ad terram suam, et corruere eum faciam gladio in terra sua.\ (Ⅳ) - 7 ׃37 הנני נותן בו רוח ושמע שמועה ושב אל ארצו והפלתיו בחרב בארצו (Ⅴ)

So Rabshakeh returned, and found the king of Assyria warring against Libnah: for he had heard that he was departed from Lachish.
- Rabschaké, s'étant retiré, trouva le roi d'Assyrie qui attaquait Libna, car il avait appris son départ de Lakis. (Ⅱ) - καὶ ἀπέστρεψεν Ραψακης καὶ κατέλαβεν πολιορκου̃ντα τὸν βασιλέα Λομναν καὶ ἤκουσεν βασιλεὺς 'Ασσυρίων ὅτι (Ⅲ) - Reversus est autem Rabsaces, et invenit regem Assyriorum præliantem adversus Lobnam : audierat enim quia profectus esset de Lachis. (Ⅳ) - 8 ׃37 וישב רב שקה וימצא את מלך אשור נלחם על לבנה כי שמע כי נסע מלכיש (Ⅴ)

And he heard say concerning Tirhakah king of Ethiopia, He is come forth to make war with thee. And when he heard it, he sent messengers to Hezekiah, saying,
- Alors le roi d'Assyrie reçut une nouvelle au sujet de Tirhaka, roi d'Éthiopie; on lui dit: Il s'est mis en marche pour te faire la guerre. Dès qu'il eut entendu cela, il envoya des messagers à Ézéchias, en disant: (Ⅱ) - ἐξη̃λθεν Θαρακα βασιλεὺς Αἰθιόπων πολιορκη̃σαι αὐτόν καὶ ἀκούσας ἀπέστρεψεν καὶ ἀπέστειλεν ἀγγέλους πρὸς Εζεκιαν λέγων (Ⅲ) - Et audivit de Tharaca rege Æthiopiæ, dicentes : Egressus est ut pugnet contra te. Quod cum audisset, misit nuntios ad Ezechiam, dicens : (Ⅳ) - 9 ׃37 וישמע על תרהקה מלך כוש לאמר יצא להלחם אתך וישמע וישלח מלאכים אל חזקיהו לאמר (Ⅴ)

Thus shall ye speak to Hezekiah king of Judah, saying, Let not thy God, in whom thou trustest, deceive thee, saying, Jerusalem shall not be given into the hand of the king of Assyria.
- Vous parlerez ainsi à Ézéchias, roi de Juda: Que ton Dieu, auquel tu te confies, ne t'abuse point en disant: Jérusalem ne sera pas livrée entre les mains du roi d'Assyrie. (Ⅱ) - οὕτως ἐρει̃τε Εζεκια βασιλει̃ τη̃ς Ιουδαίας μή σε ἀπατάτω ὁ θεός σου ἐφ' ὡ̨̃ πεποιθὼς εἰ̃ ἐπ' αὐτω̨̃ λέγων οὐ μὴ παραδοθη̨̃ Ιερουσαλημ εἰς χει̃ρας βασιλέως 'Ασσυρίων (Ⅲ) - Hæc dicetis Ezechiæ regi Judæ, loquentes : Non te decipiat Deus tuus in quo tu confidis, dicens : Non dabitur Jerusalem in manu regis Assyriorum. (Ⅳ) - 10 ׃37 כה תאמרון אל חזקיהו מלך יהודה לאמר אל ישאך אלהיך אשר אתה בוטח בו לאמר לא תנתן ירושלם ביד מלך אשור (Ⅴ)

Behold, thou hast heard what the kings of Assyria have done to all lands by destroying them utterly; and shalt thou be delivered?
- Voici, tu as appris ce qu'ont fait les rois d'Assyrie à tous les pays, et comment ils les ont détruits; et toi, tu serais délivré! (Ⅱ) - ἢ οὐκ ἤκουσας ἃ ἐποίησαν βασιλει̃ς 'Ασσυρίων πα̃σαν τὴν γη̃ν ὡς ἀπώλεσαν (Ⅲ) - Ecce tu audisti omnia quæ fecerunt reges Assyriorum omnibus terris, quas subverterunt : et tu poteris liberari ? (Ⅳ) - 11 ׃37 הנה אתה שמעת אשר עשו מלכי אשור לכל הארצות להחרימם ואתה תנצל (Ⅴ)

Have the gods of the nations delivered them which my fathers have destroyed, as Gozan, and Haran, and Rezeph, and the children of Eden which were in Telassar?
- Les dieux des nations que mes pères ont détruites les ont-ils délivrées, Gozan, Charan, Retseph, et les fils d'Éden qui sont à Telassar? (Ⅱ) - μὴ ἐρρύσαντο αὐτοὺς οἱ θεοὶ τω̃ν ἐθνω̃ν οὓς οἱ πατέρες μου ἀπώλεσαν τήν τε Γωζαν καὶ Χαρραν καὶ Ραφες αἵ εἰσιν ἐν χώρα̨ Θεμαδ (Ⅲ) - Numquid eruerunt eos dii gentium quos subverterunt patres mei, Gozam, et Haram, et Reseph, et filios Eden qui erant in Thalassar ? (Ⅳ) - 12 ׃37 ההצילו אותם אלהי הגוים אשר השחיתו אבותי את גוזן ואת חרן ורצף ובני עדן אשר בתלשר (Ⅴ)

Where is the king of Hamath, and the king of Arphad, and the king of the city of Sepharvaim, Hena, and Ivah?
- Où sont le roi de Hamath, le roi d'Arpad, et le roi de la ville de Sepharvaïm, d'Héna et d'Ivva? (Ⅱ) - που̃ εἰσιν οἱ βασιλει̃ς Αιμαθ καὶ Αρφαθ καὶ πόλεως Σεπφαριμ Αναγ Ουγαυα (Ⅲ) - Ubi est rex Emath, et rex Arphad, et rex urbis Sepharvaim, Ana, et Ava ?\ (Ⅳ) - 13 ׃37 איה מלך חמת ומלך ארפד ומלך לעיר ספרוים הנע ועוה (Ⅴ)

And Hezekiah received the letter from the hand of the messengers, and read it: and Hezekiah went up unto the house of the LORD, and spread it before the LORD.
- Ézéchias prit la lettre de la main des messagers, et la lut. Puis il monta à la maison de l'Éternel, et la déploya devant l'Éternel, (Ⅱ) - καὶ ἔλαβεν Εζεκιας τὸ βιβλίον παρὰ τω̃ν ἀγγέλων καὶ ἤνοιξεν αὐτὸ ἐναντίον κυρίου (Ⅲ) - Et tulit Ezechias libros de manu nuntiorum, et legit eos, et ascendit in domum Domini, et expandit eos Ezechias coram Domino : (Ⅳ) - 14 ׃37 ויקח חזקיהו את הספרים מיד המלאכים ויקראהו ויעל בית יהוה ויפרשהו חזקיהו לפני יהוה (Ⅴ)

And Hezekiah prayed unto the LORD, saying,
- à qui il adressa cette prière: (Ⅱ) - καὶ προσεύξατο Εζεκιας πρὸς κύριον λέγων (Ⅲ) - et oravit Ezechias ad Dominum, dicens : (Ⅳ) - 15 ׃37 ויתפלל חזקיהו אל יהוה לאמר (Ⅴ)

O LORD of hosts, God of Israel, that dwellest between the cherubims, thou art the God, even thou alone, of all the kingdoms of the earth: thou hast made heaven and earth.
- Éternel des armées, Dieu d'Israël, assis sur les chérubins! C'est toi qui es le seul Dieu de tous les royaumes de la terre, c'est toi qui as fait les cieux et la terre. (Ⅱ) - κύριε σαβαωθ ὁ θεὸς Ισραηλ ὁ καθήμενος ἐπὶ τω̃ν χερουβιν σὺ θεὸς μόνος εἰ̃ πάσης βασιλείας τη̃ς οἰκουμένης σὺ ἐποίησας τὸν οὐρανὸν καὶ τὴν γη̃ν (Ⅲ) - Domine exercituum, Deus Israël, qui sedes super cherubim, tu es Deus solus omnium regnorum terræ : tu fecisti cælum et terram. (Ⅳ) - 16 ׃37 יהוה צבאות אלהי ישראל ישב הכרבים אתה הוא האלהים לבדך לכל ממלכות הארץ אתה עשית את השמים ואת הארץ (Ⅴ)

Incline thine ear, O LORD, and hear; open thine eyes, O LORD, and see: and hear all the words of Sennacherib, which hath sent to reproach the living God.
- Éternel, incline ton oreille, et écoute! Éternel, ouvre tes yeux, et regarde! Entends toutes les paroles que Sanchérib a envoyées pour insulter au Dieu vivant! (Ⅱ) - εἰσάκουσον κύριε εἴσβλεψον κύριε καὶ ἰδὲ τοὺς λόγους οὓς ἀπέστειλεν Σενναχηριμ ὀνειδίζειν θεὸν ζω̃ντα (Ⅲ) - Inclina, Domine, aurem tuam, et audi ; aperi, Domine, oculos tuos, et vide : et audi omnia verba Sennacherib, quæ misit ad blasphemandum Deum viventem. (Ⅳ) - 17 ׃37 הטה יהוה אזנך ושמע פקח יהוה עינך וראה ושמע את כל דברי סנחריב אשר שלח לחרף אלהים חי (Ⅴ)

Of a truth, LORD, the kings of Assyria have laid waste all the nations, and their countries,
- Il est vrai, ô Éternel! que les rois d'Assyrie ont ravagé tous les pays et leur propre pays, (Ⅱ) - ἐπ' ἀληθείας γὰρ ἠρήμωσαν βασιλει̃ς 'Ασσυρίων τὴν οἰκουμένην ὅλην καὶ τὴν χώραν αὐτω̃ν (Ⅲ) - Vere enim, Domine, desertas fecerunt reges Assyriorum terras, et regiones earum, (Ⅳ) - 18 ׃37 אמנם יהוה החריבו מלכי אשור את כל הארצות ואת ארצם (Ⅴ)

And have cast their gods into the fire: for they were no gods, but the work of men's hands, wood and stone: therefore they have destroyed them.
- et qu'ils ont jeté leurs dieux dans le feu; mais ce n'étaient point des dieux, c'étaient des ouvrages de mains d'homme, du bois et de la pierre; et ils les ont anéantis. (Ⅱ) - καὶ ἐνέβαλον τὰ εἴδωλα αὐτω̃ν εἰς τὸ πυ̃ρ οὐ γὰρ θεοὶ ἠ̃σαν ἀλλὰ ἔργα χειρω̃ν ἀνθρώπων ξύλα καὶ λίθοι καὶ ἀπώλεσαν αὐτούς (Ⅲ) - et dederunt deos earum igni : non enim erant dii, sed opera manuum hominum, lignum et lapis, et comminuerunt eos. (Ⅳ) - 19 ׃37 ונתן את אלהיהם באש כי לא אלהים המה כי אם מעשה ידי אדם עץ ואבן ויאבדום (Ⅴ)

Now therefore, O LORD our God, save us from his hand, that all the kingdoms of the earth may know that thou art the LORD, even thou only.
- Maintenant, Éternel, notre Dieu, délivre-nous de la main de Sanchérib, et que tous les royaumes de la terre sachent que toi seul es l'Éternel! (Ⅱ) - σὺ δέ κύριε ὁ θεὸς ἡμω̃ν σω̃σον ἡμα̃ς ἐκ χειρὸς αὐτω̃ν ἵνα γνω̨̃ πα̃σα βασιλεία τη̃ς γη̃ς ὅτι σὺ εἰ̃ ὁ θεὸς μόνος (Ⅲ) - Et nunc, Domine Deus noster, salva nos de manu ejus, et cognoscant omnia regna terræ quia tu es Dominus solus. (Ⅳ) - 20 ׃37 ועתה יהוה אלהינו הושיענו מידו[1] וידעו כל ממלכות הארץ כי אתה יהוה לבדך (Ⅴ)

Then Isaiah the son of Amoz sent unto Hezekiah, saying, Thus saith the LORD God of Israel, Whereas thou hast prayed to me against Sennacherib king of Assyria:
- Alors Ésaïe, fils d'Amots, envoya dire à Ézéchias: Ainsi parle l'Éternel, le Dieu d'Israël: J'ai entendu la prière que tu m'as adressée au sujet de Sanchérib, roi d'Assyrie. (Ⅱ) - καὶ ἀπεστάλη Ησαιας υἱὸς Αμως πρὸς Εζεκιαν καὶ εἰ̃πεν αὐτω̨̃ τάδε λέγει κύριος ὁ θεὸς Ισραηλ ἤκουσα ἃ προσηύξω πρός με περὶ Σενναχηριμ βασιλέως 'Ασσυρίων (Ⅲ) - Et misit Isaias, filius Amos, ad Ezechiam, dicens : Hæc dicit Dominus Deus Israël : Pro quibus rogasti me de Sennacherib, rege Assyriorum, (Ⅳ) - 21 ׃37 וישלח ישעיהו בן אמוץ אל חזקיהו לאמר כה אמר יהוה אלהי ישראל אשר התפללת אלי אל סנחריב מלך אשור (Ⅴ)

This is the word which the LORD hath spoken concerning him; The virgin, the daughter of Zion, hath despised thee, and laughed thee to scorn; the daughter of Jerusalem hath shaken her head at thee.
- Voici la parole que l'Éternel a prononcée contre lui: Elle te méprise, elle se moque de toi, La vierge, fille de Sion; Elle hoche la tête après toi, La fille de Jérusalem. (Ⅱ) - οὑ̃τος ὁ λόγος ὃν ἐλάλησεν περὶ αὐτου̃ ὁ θεός ἐφαύλισέν σε καὶ ἐμυκτήρισέν σε παρθένος θυγάτηρ Σιων ἐπὶ σοὶ κεφαλὴν ἐκίνησεν θυγάτηρ Ιερουσαλημ (Ⅲ) - hoc est verbum quod locutus est Dominus super eum : [Despexit te et subsannavit te,/ virgo filia Sion ;/ post te caput movit,/ filia Jerusalem./ (Ⅳ) - 22 ׃37 זה הדבר אשר דבר יהוה עליו בזה לך לעגה לך בתולת בת ציון אחריך ראש הניעה בת ירושלם (Ⅴ)

Whom hast thou reproached and blasphemed? and against whom hast thou exalted thy voice, and lifted up thine eyes on high? even against the Holy One of Israel.
- Qui as-tu insulté et outragé? Contre qui as-tu élevé la voix? Tu as porté tes yeux en haut Sur le Saint d'Israël. (Ⅱ) - τίνα ὠνείδισας καὶ παρώξυνας ἢ πρὸς τίνα ὕψωσας τὴν φωνήν σου καὶ οὐκ ἠ̃ρας εἰς ὕψος τοὺς ὀφθαλμούς σου εἰς τὸν ἅγιον του̃ Ισραηλ (Ⅲ) - Cui exprobrasti ? et quem blasphemasti ?/ et super quem exaltasti vocem,/ et levasti altitudinem oculorum tuorum ?/ ad Sanctum Israël./ (Ⅳ) - 23 ׃37 את מי חרפת וגדפת ועל מי הרימותה קול ותשא מרום עיניך אל קדוש ישראל (Ⅴ)

By thy servants hast thou reproached the Lord, and hast said, By the multitude of my chariots am I come up to the height of the mountains, to the sides of Lebanon; and I will cut down the tall cedars thereof, and the choice fir trees thereof: and I will enter into the height of his border, and the forest of his Carmel.

I have digged, and drunk water; and with the sole of my feet have I dried up all the rivers of the besieged places.
- J'ai ouvert des sources, et j'en ai bu les eaux, Et je tarirai avec la plante de mes pieds Tous les fleuves de l'Égypte. (Ⅱ) - καὶ ἔθηκα γέφυραν καὶ ἠρήμωσα ὕδατα καὶ πα̃σαν συναγωγὴν ὕδατος (Ⅲ) - Ego fodi, et bibi aquam,/ et exsiccavi vestigio pedis mei/ omnes rivos aggerum./ (Ⅳ) - 25 ׃37 אני קרתי ושתיתי מים ואחרב בכף פעמי כל יארי מצור (Ⅴ)

Hast thou not heard long ago, how I have done it; and of ancient times, that I have formed it? now have I brought it to pass, that thou shouldest be to lay waste defenced cities into ruinous heaps.
- N'as-tu pas appris que j'ai préparé ces choses de loin, Et que je les ai résolues dès les temps anciens? Maintenant j'ai permis qu'elles s'accomplissent, Et que tu réduisisses des villes fortes en monceaux de ruines. (Ⅱ) - οὐ ταυ̃τα ἤκουσας πάλαι ἃ ἐγὼ ἐποίησα ἐξ ἀρχαίων ἡμερω̃ν συνέταξα νυ̃ν δὲ ἐπέδειξα ἐξερημω̃σαι ἔθνη ἐν ὀχυροι̃ς καὶ ἐνοικου̃ντας ἐν πόλεσιν ὀχυραι̃ς (Ⅲ) - Numquid non audisti quæ olim fecerim ei ?/ Ex diebus antiquis ego plasmavi illud ;/ et nunc adduxi,/ et factum est in eradicationem collium compugnantium,/ et civitatum munitarum./ (Ⅳ) - 26 ׃37 הלוא שמעת למרחוק אותה עשיתי מימי קדם ויצרתיה עתה הבאתיה ותהי להשאות גלים נצים ערים בצרות (Ⅴ)

Therefore their inhabitants were of small power, they were dismayed and confounded: they were as the grass of the field, and as the green herb, as the grass on the housetops, and as corn blasted before it be grown up.
- Leurs habitants sont impuissants, Épouvantés et confus; Ils sont comme l'herbe des champs et la tendre verdure, Comme le gazon des toits Et le blé qui sèche avant la formation de sa tige. (Ⅱ) - ἀνη̃κα τὰς χει̃ρας καὶ ἐξηράνθησαν καὶ ἐγένοντο ὡς χόρτος ξηρὸς ἐπὶ δωμάτων καὶ ὡς ἄγρωστις (Ⅲ) - Habitatores earum breviata manu/ contremuerunt, et confusi sunt./ Facti sunt sicut fœnum agri,/ et gramen pascuæ,/ et herba tectorum,/ quæ exaruit antequam maturesceret./ (Ⅳ) - 27 ׃37 וישביהן קצרי יד חתו ובשו היו עשב שדה וירק דשא חציר גגות ושדמה לפני קמה (Ⅴ)

But I know thy abode, and thy going out, and thy coming in, and thy rage against me.
- Mais je sais quand tu t'assieds, quand tu sors et quand tu entres, Et quand tu es furieux contre moi. (Ⅱ) - νυ̃ν δὲ τὴν ἀνάπαυσίν σου καὶ τὴν ἔξοδόν σου καὶ τὴν εἴσοδόν σου ἐγὼ ἐπίσταμαι (Ⅲ) - Habitationem tuam, et egressum tuum,/ et introitum tuum cognovi,/ et insaniam tuam contra me./ (Ⅳ) - 28 ׃37 ושבתך וצאתך ובואך ידעתי ואת התרגזך אלי (Ⅴ)

Because thy rage against me, and thy tumult, is come up into mine ears, therefore will I put my hook in thy nose, and my bridle in thy lips, and I will turn thee back by the way by which thou camest.
- Parce que tu es furieux contre moi, Et que ton arrogance est montée à mes oreilles, Je mettrai ma boucle à tes narines et mon mors entre tes lèvres, Et je te ferai retourner par le chemin par lequel tu es venu. (Ⅱ) - ὁ δὲ θυμός σου ὃν ἐθυμώθης καὶ ἡ πικρία σου ἀνέβη πρός με καὶ ἐμβαλω̃ φιμὸν εἰς τὴν ῥι̃νά σου καὶ χαλινὸν εἰς τὰ χείλη σου καὶ ἀποστρέψω σε τη̨̃ ὁδω̨̃ ἡ̨̃ ἠ̃λθες ἐν αὐτη̨̃ (Ⅲ) - Cum fureres adversum me,/ superbia tua ascendit in aures meas./ Ponam ergo circulum in naribus tuis,/ et frenum in labiis tuis,/ et reducam te in viam/ per quem venisti.]\ (Ⅳ) - 29 ׃37 יען התרגזך אלי ושאננך עלה באזני ושמתי חחי באפך ומתגי בשפתיך והשיבתיך בדרך אשר באת בה (Ⅴ)

And this shall be a sign unto thee, Ye shall eat this year such as groweth of itself; and the second year that which springeth of the same: and in the third year sow ye, and reap, and plant vineyards, and eat the fruit thereof.
- Que ceci soit un signe pour toi: On a mangé une année le produit du grain tombé, et une seconde année ce qui croît de soi-même; mais la troisième année, vous sèmerez, vous moissonnerez, vous planterez des vignes, et vous en mangerez le fruit. (Ⅱ) - του̃το δέ σοι τὸ σημει̃ον φάγε του̃τον τὸν ἐνιαυτὸν ἃ ἔσπαρκας τω̨̃ δὲ ἐνιαυτω̨̃ τω̨̃ δευτέρω̨ τὸ κατάλειμμα τω̨̃ δὲ τρίτω̨ σπείραντες ἀμήσατε καὶ φυτεύσατε ἀμπελω̃νας καὶ φάγεσθε τὸν καρπὸν αὐτω̃ν (Ⅲ) - Tibi autem hoc erit signum : comede hoc anno quæ sponte nascuntur, et in anno secundo pomis vescere ; in anno autem tertio seminate et metite, et plantate vineas, et comedite fructum earum. (Ⅳ) - 30 ׃37 וזה לך האות אכול השנה ספיח ובשנה השנית שחיס ובשנה השלישית זרעו וקצרו ונטעו כרמים *ואכול **ואכלו פרים (Ⅴ)

And the remnant that is escaped of the house of Judah shall again take root downward, and bear fruit upward:
- Ce qui aura été sauvé de la maison de Juda, ce qui sera resté poussera encore des racines par-dessous, et portera du fruit par-dessus. (Ⅱ) - καὶ ἔσονται οἱ καταλελειμμένοι ἐν τη̨̃ Ιουδαία̨ φυήσουσιν ῥίζαν κάτω καὶ ποιήσουσιν σπέρμα ἄνω (Ⅲ) - Et mittet id quod salvatum fuerit de domo Juda, et quod reliquum est, radicem deorsum, et faciet fructum sursum : (Ⅳ) - 31 ׃37 ויספה פליטת בית יהודה הנשארה שרש למטה ועשה פרי למעלה (Ⅴ)

For out of Jerusalem shall go forth a remnant, and they that escape out of mount Zion: the zeal of the LORD of hosts shall do this.
- Car de Jérusalem il sortira un reste, et de la montagne de Sion des réchappés. Voilà ce que fera le zèle de l'Éternel des armées. (Ⅱ) - ὅτι ἐξ Ιερουσαλημ ἐξελεύσονται οἱ καταλελειμμένοι καὶ οἱ σω̨ζόμενοι ἐξ ὄρους Σιων ὁ ζη̃λος κυρίου σαβαωθ ποιήσει ταυ̃τα (Ⅲ) - quia de Jerusalem exibunt reliquiæ, et salvatio de monte Sion : zelus Domini exercituum faciet istud. (Ⅳ) - 32 ׃37 כי מירושלם תצא שארית ופליטה מהר ציון קנאת יהוה צבאות תעשה זאת ס (Ⅴ)

Therefore thus saith the LORD concerning the king of Assyria, He shall not come into this city, nor shoot an arrow there, nor come before it with shields, nor cast a bank against it.
- C'est pourquoi ainsi parle l'Éternel sur le roi d'Assyrie: Il n'entrera point dans cette ville, Il n'y lancera point de traits, Il ne lui présentera point de boucliers, Et il n'élèvera point de retranchements contre elle. (Ⅱ) - διὰ του̃το οὕτως λέγει κύριος ἐπὶ βασιλέα 'Ασσυρίων οὐ μὴ εἰσέλθη̨ εἰς τὴν πόλιν ταύτην οὐδὲ μὴ βάλη̨ ἐπ' αὐτὴν βέλος οὐδὲ μὴ ἐπιβάλη̨ ἐπ' αὐτὴν θυρεὸν οὐδὲ μὴ κυκλώση̨ ἐπ' αὐτὴν χάρακα (Ⅲ) - Propterea hæc dicit Dominus de rege Assyriorum : [Non intrabit civitatem hanc,/ et non jaciet ibi sagittam,/ et non occupabit eam clypeus,/ et non mittet in circuitu ejus aggerem./ (Ⅳ) - 33 ׃37 לכן כה אמר יהוה אל מלך אשור לא יבוא אל העיר הזאת ולא יורה שם חץ ולא יקדמנה מגן ולא ישפך עליה[1] סללה (Ⅴ)

By the way that he came, by the same shall he return, and shall not come into this city, saith the LORD.
- Il s'en retournera par le chemin par lequel il est venu, Et il n'entrera point dans cette ville, dit l'Éternel. (Ⅱ) - ἀλλὰ τη̨̃ ὁδω̨̃ ἡ̨̃ ἠ̃λθεν ἐν αὐτη̨̃ ἀποστραφήσεται τάδε λέγει κύριος (Ⅲ) - In via qua venit, per eam revertetur,/ et civitatem hanc non ingredietur, dicit Dominus./ (Ⅳ) - 34 ׃37 בדרך אשר בא בה ישוב ואל העיר הזאת לא יבוא נאם יהוה (Ⅴ)

For I will defend this city to save it for mine own sake, and for my servant David's sake.
- Je protégerai cette ville pour la sauver, A cause de moi, et à cause de David, mon serviteur. (Ⅱ) - ὑπερασπιω̃ ὑπὲρ τη̃ς πόλεως ταύτης του̃ σω̃σαι αὐτὴν δι' ἐμὲ καὶ διὰ Δαυιδ τὸν παι̃δά μου (Ⅲ) - Et protegam civitatem istam, ut salvem eam/ propter me, et propter David, servum meum.] (Ⅳ) - 35 ׃37 וגנותי על העיר הזאת להושיעה למעני ולמען דוד עבדי ס (Ⅴ)

Then the angel of the LORD went forth, and smote in the camp of the Assyrians a hundred and fourscore and five thousand: and when they arose early in the morning, behold, they were all dead corpses.
- L'ange de l'Éternel sortit, et frappa dans le camp des Assyriens cent quatre-vingt-cinq mille hommes. Et quand on se leva le matin, voici, c'étaient tous des corps morts. (Ⅱ) - καὶ ἐξη̃λθεν ἄγγελος κυρίου καὶ ἀνει̃λεν ἐκ τη̃ς παρεμβολη̃ς τω̃ν 'Ασσυρίων ἑκατὸν ὀγδοήκοντα πέντε χιλιάδας καὶ ἐξαναστάντες τὸ πρωὶ εὑ̃ρον πάντα τὰ σώματα νεκρά (Ⅲ) - Egressus est autem angelus Domini, et percussit in castris Assyriorum centum octoginta quinque millia. Et surrexerunt mane, et ecce omnes cadavera mortuorum. (Ⅳ) - 36 ׃37 ויצא מלאך יהוה ויכה במחנה אשור מאה ושמנים וחמשה אלף וישכימו בבקר והנה כלם פגרים מתים (Ⅴ)

So Sennacherib king of Assyria departed, and went and returned, and dwelt at Nineveh.
- Alors Sanchérib, roi d'Assyrie, leva son camp, partit et s'en retourna; et il resta à Ninive. (Ⅱ) - καὶ ἀποστραφεὶς ἀπη̃λθεν βασιλεὺς 'Ασσυρίων καὶ ὤ̨κησεν ἐν Νινευη (Ⅲ) - Et egressus est, et abiit, et reversus est Sennacherib, rex Assyriorum, et habitavit in Ninive. (Ⅳ) - 37 ׃37 ויסע וילך וישב סנחריב מלך אשור וישב בנינוה (Ⅴ)

And it came to pass, as he was worshipping in the house of Nisroch his god, that Adrammelech and Sharezer his sons smote him with the sword; and they escaped into the land of Armenia: and Esarhaddon his son reigned in his stead.
- Or, comme il était prosterné dans la maison de Nisroc, son dieu, Adrammélec et Scharetser, ses fils, le frappèrent par l'épée, et s'enfuirent au pays d'Ararat. Et Ésar Haddon, son fils, régna à sa place. (Ⅱ) - καὶ ἐν τω̨̃ αὐτὸν προσκυνει̃ν ἐν τω̨̃ οἴκω̨ Νασαραχ τὸν παταχρον αὐτου̃ Αδραμελεχ καὶ Σαρασαρ οἱ υἱοὶ αὐτου̃ ἐπάταξαν αὐτὸν μαχαίραις αὐτοὶ δὲ διεσώθησαν εἰς 'Αρμενίαν καὶ ἐβασίλευσεν Ασορδαν ὁ υἱὸς αὐτου̃ ἀντ' αὐτου̃ (Ⅲ) - Et factum est, cum adoraret in templo Nesroch deum suum, Adramelech et Sarasar, filii ejus, percusserunt eum gladio, fugeruntque in terram Ararat ; et regnavit Asarhaddon, filius ejus, pro eo. (Ⅳ) - 38 ׃37 ויהי הוא משתחוה בית נסרך אלהיו ואדרמלך ושראצר בניו הכהו בחרב והמה נמלטו ארץ אררט וימלך אסר חדן בנו תחתיו ס (Ⅴ)
