Yet now hear, O Jacob my servant; and Israel, whom I have chosen:
- Écoute maintenant, ô Jacob, mon serviteur! O Israël, que j'ai choisi! (Ⅱ) - νυ̃ν δὲ ἄκουσον παι̃ς μου Ιακωβ καὶ Ισραηλ ὃν ἐξελεξάμην (Ⅲ) - Et nunc audi, Jacob, serve meus,/ et Israël, quem elegi./ (Ⅳ) - 1 ׃44 ועתה שמע יעקב עבדי וישראל בחרתי בו (Ⅴ)

Thus saith the LORD that made thee, and formed thee from the womb, which will help thee; Fear not, O Jacob, my servant; and thou, Jesurun, whom I have chosen.
- Ainsi parle l'Éternel, qui t'a fait, Et qui t'a formé dès ta naissance, Celui qui est ton soutien: Ne crains rien, mon serviteur Jacob, Mon Israël, que j'ai choisi. For I will pour water upon him that is thirsty, and floods upon the dry ground: I will pour my spirit upon thy seed, and my blessing upon thine offspring:
- Car je répandrai des eaux sur le sol altéré, Et des ruisseaux sur la terre desséchée; Je répandrai mon esprit sur ta race, Et ma bénédiction sur tes rejetons. (Ⅱ) - ὅτι ἐγὼ δώσω ὕδωρ ἐν δίψει τοι̃ς πορευομένοις ἐν ἀνύδρω̨ ἐπιθήσω τὸ πνευ̃μά μου ἐπὶ τὸ σπέρμα σου καὶ τὰς εὐλογίας μου ἐπὶ τὰ τέκνα σου (Ⅲ) - Effundam enim aquas super sitientem,/ et fluenta super aridam ;/ effundam spiritum meum super semen tuum,/ et benedictionem meam super stirpem tuam :/ (Ⅳ) - 3 ׃44 כי אצק מים על צמא ונזלים על יבשה אצק רוחי על זרעך וברכתי על צאצאיך (Ⅴ)

And they shall spring up as among the grass, as willows by the water courses.
- Ils pousseront comme au milieu de l'herbe, Comme les saules près des courants d'eau. (Ⅱ) - καὶ ἀνατελου̃σιν ὡσεὶ χόρτος ἀνὰ μέσον ὕδατος καὶ ὡς ἰτέα ἐπὶ παραρρέον ὕδωρ (Ⅲ) - et germinabunt inter herbas,/ quasi salices juxta præterfluentes aquas./ (Ⅳ) - 4 ׃44 וצמחו בבין חציר כערבים על יבלי מים (Ⅴ)

One shall say, I am the LORD's; and another shall call himself by the name of Jacob; and another shall subscribe with his hand unto the LORD, and surname himself by the name of Israel.
- Celui-ci dira: Je suis à l'Éternel; Celui-là se réclamera du nom de Jacob; Cet autre écrira de sa main: à l'Éternel! Et prononcera avec amour le nom d'Israël. Thus saith the LORD the King of Israel, and his redeemer the LORD of hosts; I am the first, and I am the last; and beside me there is no God.
- Ainsi parle l'Éternel, roi d'Israël et son rédempteur, L'Éternel des armées: Je suis le premier et je suis le dernier, Et hors moi il n'y a point de Dieu. And who, as I, shall call, and shall declare it, and set it in order for me, since I appointed the ancient people? and the things that are coming, and shall come, let them shew unto them.
- Qui a, comme moi, fait des prédictions (Qu'il le déclare et me le prouve!), Depuis que j'ai fondé le peuple ancien? Qu'ils annoncent l'avenir et ce qui doit arriver! (Ⅱ) - τίς ὥσπερ ἐγώ στήτω καλεσάτω καὶ ἑτοιμασάτω μοι ἀφ' οὑ̃ ἐποίησα ἄνθρωπον εἰς τὸν αἰω̃να καὶ τὰ ἐπερχόμενα πρὸ του̃ ἐλθει̃ν ἀναγγειλάτωσαν ὑμι̃ν (Ⅲ) - Quis similis mei ? vocet,/ et annuntiet : et ordinem exponat mihi,/ ex quo constitui populum antiquum ;/ ventura et quæ futura sunt annuntient eis./ (Ⅳ) - 7 ׃44 ומי כמוני יקרא ויגידה ויערכה לי משומי עם עולם ואתיות ואשר תבאנה יגידו למו (Ⅴ)

Fear ye not, neither be afraid: have not I told thee from that time, and have declared it? ye are even my witnesses. Is there a God beside me? yea, there is no God; I know not any.
- N'ayez pas peur, et ne tremblez pas; Ne te l'ai-je pas dès longtemps annoncé et déclaré? Vous êtes mes témoins: Y a-t-il un autre Dieu que moi? Il n'y a pas d'autre rocher, je n'en connais point. (Ⅱ) - μὴ παρακαλύπτεσθε οὐκ ἀπ' ἀρχη̃ς ἠνωτίσασθε καὶ ἀπήγγειλα ὑμι̃ν μάρτυρες ὑμει̃ς ἐστε εἰ ἔστιν θεὸς πλὴν ἐμου̃ καὶ οὐκ ἠ̃σαν τότε (Ⅲ) - Nolite timere, neque conturbemini :/ ex tunc audire te feci,/ et annuntiavi ; vos estis testes mei./ Numquid est Deus absque me,/ et formator quem ego non noverim ?/ (Ⅳ) - 8 ׃44 אל תפחדו ואל תרהו הלא מאז השמעתיך והגדתי ואתם עדי היש אלוה מבלעדי ואין צור בל ידעתי (Ⅴ)

They that make a graven image are all of them vanity; and their delectable things shall not profit; and they are their own witnesses; they see not, nor know; that they may be ashamed.
- Ceux qui fabriquent des idoles ne sont tous que vanité, Et leurs plus belles oeuvres ne servent à rien; Elles le témoignent elles-mêmes: Elles n'ont ni la vue, ni l'intelligence, Afin qu'ils soient dans la confusion. (Ⅱ) - οἱ πλάσσοντες καὶ γλύφοντες πάντες μάταιοι οἱ ποιου̃ντες τὰ καταθύμια αὐτω̃ν ἃ οὐκ ὠφελήσει αὐτούς ἀλλὰ αἰσχυνθήσονται (Ⅲ) - Plastæ idoli omnes nihil sunt,/ et amantissima eorum non proderunt eis./ Ipsi sunt testes eorum, quia non vident,/ neque intelligunt, ut confundantur./ (Ⅳ) - 9 ׃44 יצרי פסל כלם תהו וחמודיהם בל יועילו ועדיהם המה[4] בל יראו ובל ידעו למען יבשו (Ⅴ)

Who hath formed a god, or molten a graven image that is profitable for nothing?
- Qui est-ce qui fabrique un dieu, ou fond une idole, Pour n'en retirer aucune utilité? (Ⅱ) - πάντες οἱ πλάσσοντες θεὸν καὶ γλύφοντες ἀνωφελη̃ (Ⅲ) - Quis formavit deum,/ et sculptile conflavit ad nihil utile ?/ (Ⅳ) - 10 ׃44 מי יצר אל ופסל נסך לבלתי הועיל (Ⅴ)

Behold, all his fellows shall be ashamed: and the workmen, they are of men: let them all be gathered together, let them stand up; yet they shall fear, and they shall be ashamed together.
- Voici, tous ceux qui y travaillent seront confondus, Et les ouvriers ne sont que des hommes; Qu'ils se réunissent tous, qu'ils se présentent, Et tous ensemble ils seront tremblants et couverts de honte. (Ⅱ) - καὶ πάντες ὅθεν ἐγένοντο ἐξηράνθησαν καὶ κωφοὶ ἀπὸ ἀνθρώπων συναχθήτωσαν πάντες καὶ στήτωσαν ἅμα ἐντραπήτωσαν καὶ αἰσχυνθήτωσαν ἅμα (Ⅲ) - Ecce omnes participes ejus confundentur,/ fabri enim sunt ex hominibus ;/ convenient omnes, stabunt/ et pavebunt, et confundentur simul./ (Ⅳ) - 11 ׃44 הן כל חבריו יבשו וחרשים המה מאדם יתקבצו כלם יעמדו יפחדו יבשו יחד (Ⅴ)

The smith with the tongs both worketh in the coals, and fashioneth it with hammers, and worketh it with the strength of his arms: yea, he is hungry, and his strength faileth: he drinketh no water, and is faint.
- Le forgeron fait une hache, Il travaille avec le charbon, Et il la façonne à coups de marteau; Il la forge d'un bras vigoureux; Mais a-t-il faim, le voilà sans force; Ne boit-il pas d'eau, le voilà épuisé. (Ⅱ) - ὅτι ὤξυνεν τέκτων σίδηρον σκεπάρνω̨ εἰργάσατο αὐτὸ καὶ ἐν τερέτρω̨ ἔτρησεν αὐτό εἰργάσατο αὐτὸ ἐν τω̨̃ βραχίονι τη̃ς ἰσχύος αὐτου̃ καὶ πεινάσει καὶ ἀσθενήσει καὶ οὐ μὴ πίη̨ ὕδωρ ἐκλεξάμενος (Ⅲ) - Faber ferrarius lima operatus est,/ in prunis et in malleis formavit illud,/ et operatus est in brachio fortitudinis suæ ;/ esuriet et deficiet,/ non bibet aquam et lassescet./ (Ⅳ) - 12 ׃44 חרש ברזל מעצד ופעל בפחם ובמקבות יצרהו ויפעלהו בזרוע כחו גם רעב ואין כח לא שתה מים וייעף (Ⅴ)

The carpenter stretcheth out his rule; he marketh it out with a line; he fitteth it with planes, and he marketh it out with the compass, and maketh it after the figure of a man, according to the beauty of a man; that it may remain in the house.
- Le charpentier étend le cordeau, Fait un tracé au crayon, Façonne le bois avec un couteau, Et marque ses dimensions avec le compas; Et il produit une figure d'homme, Une belle forme humaine, Pour qu'elle habite dans une maison. (Ⅱ) - τέκτων ξύλον ἔστησεν αὐτὸ ἐν μέτρω̨ καὶ ἐν κόλλη̨ ἐρρύθμισεν αὐτό ἐποίησεν αὐτὸ ὡς μορφὴν ἀνδρὸς καὶ ὡς ὡραιότητα ἀνθρώπου στη̃σαι αὐτὸ ἐν οἴκω̨ (Ⅲ) - Artifex lignarius extendit normam,/ formavit illud in runcina,/ fecit illud in angularibus,/ et in circino tornavit illud,/ et fecit imaginem viri/ quasi speciosum hominem/ habitantem in domo ;/ (Ⅳ) - 13 ׃44 חרש עצים נטה קו יתארהו בשרד יעשהו במקצעות ובמחוגה יתארהו ויעשהו כתבנית איש כתפארת אדם לשבת בית (Ⅴ)

He heweth him down cedars, and taketh the cypress and the oak, which he strengtheneth for himself among the trees of the forest: he planteth an ash, and the rain doth nourish it.
- Il se coupe des cèdres, Il prend des rouvres et des chênes, Et fait un choix parmi les arbres de la forêt; Il plante des pins, Et la pluie les fait croître. (Ⅱ) - ὃ ἔκοψεν ξύλον ἐκ του̃ δρυμου̃ ὃ ἐφύτευσεν κύριος καὶ ὑετὸς ἐμήκυνεν (Ⅲ) - succidit cedros,/ tulit ilicem, et quercum,/ quæ steterat inter ligna saltus ;/ plantavit pinum, quam pluvia nutrivit :/ (Ⅳ) - 14 ׃44 לכרת לו ארזים ויקח תרזה ואלון ויאמץ לו בעצי יער נטע ארן[6] וגשם יגדל (Ⅴ)

Then shall it be for a man to burn: for he will take thereof, and warm himself; yea, he kindleth it, and baketh bread; yea, he maketh a god, and worshippeth it; he maketh it a graven image, and falleth down thereto.
- Ces arbres servent à l'homme pour brûler, Il en prend et il se chauffe. Il y met aussi le feu pour cuire du pain; Et il en fait également un dieu, qu'il adore, Il en fait une idole, devant laquelle il se prosterne. (Ⅱ) - ἵνα ἠ̨̃ ἀνθρώποις εἰς καυ̃σιν καὶ λαβὼν ἀπ' αὐτου̃ ἐθερμάνθη καὶ καύσαντες ἔπεψαν ἄρτους ἐπ' αὐτω̃ν τὸ δὲ λοιπὸν εἰργάσαντο εἰς θεούς καὶ προσκυνου̃σιν αὐτούς (Ⅲ) - et facta est hominibus in focum ;/ sumpsit ex eis, et calefactus est ;/ et succendit et coxit panes ;/ de reliquo autem operatus est deum et adoravit ;/ fecit sculptile, et curvatus est ante illud./ (Ⅳ) - 15 ׃44 והיה לאדם לבער ויקח מהם ויחם אף ישיק ואפה לחם אף יפעל אל וישתחו עשהו פסל ויסגד למו (Ⅴ)

He burneth part thereof in the fire; with part thereof he eateth flesh; he roasteth roast, and is satisfied: yea, he warmeth himself, and saith, Aha, I am warm, I have seen the fire:
- Il brûle au feu la moitié de son bois, Avec cette moitié il cuit de la viande, Il apprête un rôti, et se rassasie; Il se chauffe aussi, et dit: Ha! Ha! Je me chauffe, je vois la flamme! (Ⅱ) - οὑ̃ τὸ ἥμισυ αὐτου̃ κατέκαυσαν ἐν πυρὶ καὶ καύσαντες ἔπεψαν ἄρτους ἐπ' αὐτω̃ν καὶ ἐπ' αὐτου̃ κρέας ὀπτήσας ἔφαγεν καὶ ἐνεπλήσθη καὶ θερμανθεὶς εἰ̃πεν ἡδύ μοι ὅτι ἐθερμάνθην καὶ εἰ̃δον πυ̃ρ (Ⅲ) - Medium ejus combussit igni,/ et de medio ejus carnes comedit ;/ coxit pulmentum, et saturatus est,/ et calefactus est, et dixit : Vah !/ calefactus sum, vidi focum ;/ (Ⅳ) - 16 ׃44 חציו שרף במו אש על חציו בשר יאכל יצלה צלי וישבע אף יחם ויאמר האח חמותי ראיתי אור (Ⅴ)

And the residue thereof he maketh a god, even his graven image: he falleth down unto it, and worshippeth it, and prayeth unto it, and saith, Deliver me; for thou art my god.
- Et avec le reste il fait un dieu, son idole, Il se prosterne devant elle, il l'adore, il l'invoque, Et s'écrie: Sauve-moi! Car tu es mon dieu! (Ⅱ) - τὸ δὲ λοιπὸν ἐποίησεν εἰς θεὸν γλυπτὸν καὶ προσκυνει̃ αὐτω̨̃ καὶ προσεύχεται λέγων ἐξελου̃ με ὅτι θεός μου εἰ̃ σύ (Ⅲ) - reliquum autem ejus deum fecit et sculptile sibi ;/ curvatur ante illud, et adorat illud,/ et obsecrat, dicens :/ Libera me, quia deus meus es tu !/ (Ⅳ) - 17 ׃44 ושאריתו לאל עשה לפסלו *יסגוד **יסגד לו וישתחו ויתפלל אליו ויאמר הצילני כי אלי אתה (Ⅴ)

They have not known nor understood: for he hath shut their eyes, that they cannot see; and their hearts, that they cannot understand.
- Ils n'ont ni intelligence, ni entendement, Car on leur a fermé les yeux pour qu'ils ne voient point, Et le coeur pour qu'ils ne comprennent point. (Ⅱ) - οὐκ ἔγνωσαν φρονη̃σαι ὅτι ἀπημαυρώθησαν του̃ βλέπειν τοι̃ς ὀφθαλμοι̃ς αὐτω̃ν καὶ του̃ νοη̃σαι τη̨̃ καρδία̨ αὐτω̃ν (Ⅲ) - Nescierunt, neque intellexerunt ;/ obliti enim sunt ne videant oculi eorum,/ et ne intelligant corde suo./ (Ⅳ) - 18 ׃44 לא ידעו ולא יבינו כי טח מראות עיניהם מהשכיל לבתם (Ⅴ)

And none considereth in his heart, neither is there knowledge nor understanding to say, I have burned part of it in the fire; yea, also I have baked bread upon the coals thereof; I have roasted flesh, and eaten it: and shall I make the residue thereof an abomination? shall I fall down to the stock of a tree?
- Il ne rentre pas en lui-même, Et il n'a ni l'intelligence, ni le bon sens de dire: J'en ai brûlé une moitié au feu, J'ai cuit du pain sur les charbons, J'ai rôti de la viande et je l'ai mangée; Et avec le reste je ferais une abomination! Je me prosternerais devant un morceau de bois! (Ⅱ) - καὶ οὐκ ἐλογίσατο τη̨̃ καρδία̨ αὐτου̃ οὐδὲ ἀνελογίσατο ἐν τη̨̃ ψυχη̨̃ αὐτου̃ οὐδὲ ἔγνω τη̨̃ φρονήσει ὅτι τὸ ἥμισυ αὐτου̃ κατέκαυσεν ἐν πυρὶ καὶ ἔπεψεν ἐπὶ τω̃ν ἀνθράκων αὐτου̃ ἄρτους καὶ ὀπτήσας κρέας ἔφαγεν καὶ τὸ λοιπὸν αὐτου̃ εἰς βδέλυγμα ἐποίησεν καὶ προσκυνου̃σιν αὐτω̨̃ (Ⅲ) - Non recogitant in mente sua,/ neque cognoscunt, neque sentiunt, ut dicant :/ Medietatem ejus combussi igni,/ et coxi super carbones ejus panes ;/ coxi carnes et comedi,/ et de reliquo ejus idolum faciam ?/ ante truncum ligni procidam ?/ (Ⅳ) - 19 ׃44 ולא ישיב אל לבו ולא דעת ולא תבונה לאמר חציו שרפתי במו אש ואף אפיתי על גחליו לחם אצלה בשר ואכל ויתרו לתועבה אעשה לבול עץ אסגוד (Ⅴ)

He feedeth on ashes: a deceived heart hath turned him aside, that he cannot deliver his soul, nor say, Is there not a lie in my right hand?
- Il se repaît de cendres, Son coeur abusé l'égare, Et il ne sauvera point son âme, et ne dira point: N'est-ce pas du mensonge que j'ai dans ma main? (Ⅱ) - γνω̃τε ὅτι σποδὸς ἡ καρδία αὐτω̃ν καὶ πλανω̃νται καὶ οὐδεὶς δύναται ἐξελέσθαι τὴν ψυχὴν αὐτου̃ ἴδετε οὐκ ἐρει̃τε ὅτι ψευ̃δος ἐν τη̨̃ δεξια̨̃ μου (Ⅲ) - Pars ejus cinis est ;/ cor insipiens adoravit illud,/ et non liberabit animam suam :/ neque dicet : Forte mendacium est in dextera mea./ (Ⅳ) - 20 ׃44 רעה אפר לב הותל הטהו ולא יציל את נפשו ולא יאמר הלוא שקר בימיני ס (Ⅴ)

Remember these, O Jacob and Israel; for thou art my servant: I have formed thee; thou art my servant: O Israel, thou shalt not be forgotten of me.
- Souviens-toi de ces choses, ô Jacob! O Israël! car tu es mon serviteur; Je t'ai formé, tu es mon serviteur; Israël, je ne t'oublierai pas. (Ⅱ) - μνήσθητι ταυ̃τα Ιακωβ καὶ Ισραηλ ὅτι παι̃ς μου εἰ̃ σύ ἔπλασά σε παι̃δά μου καὶ σύ Ισραηλ μὴ ἐπιλανθάνου μου (Ⅲ) - Memento horum Jacob,/ et Israël, quoniam servus meus es tu./ Formavi te ; servus meus es tu,/ Israël, ne obliviscaris mei./ (Ⅳ) - 21 ׃44 זכר אלה יעקב וישראל כי עבדי אתה יצרתיך עבד לי אתה ישראל לא תנשני (Ⅴ)

I have blotted out, as a thick cloud, thy transgressions, and, as a cloud, thy sins: return unto me; for I have redeemed thee.
- J'efface tes transgressions comme un nuage, Et tes péchés comme une nuée; Reviens à moi, Car je t'ai racheté. (Ⅱ) - ἰδοὺ γὰρ ἀπήλειψα ὡς νεφέλην τὰς ἀνομίας σου καὶ ὡς γνόφον τὰς ἁμαρτίας σου ἐπιστράφητι πρός με καὶ λυτρώσομαί σε (Ⅲ) - Delevi ut nubem iniquitates tuas,/ et quasi nebulam peccata tua :/ revertere ad me, quoniam redemi te./ (Ⅳ) - 22 ׃44 מחיתי כעב פשעיך וכענן חטאותיך שובה אלי כי גאלתיך (Ⅴ)

Sing, O ye heavens; for the LORD hath done it: shout, ye lower parts of the earth: break forth into singing, ye mountains, O forest, and every tree therein: for the LORD hath redeemed Jacob, and glorified himself in Israel.
- Cieux, réjouissez-vous! car l'Éternel a agi; Profondeurs de la terre, retentissez d'allégresse! Montagnes, éclatez en cris de joie! Vous aussi, forêts, avec tous vos arbres! Car l'Éternel a racheté Jacob, Il a manifesté sa gloire en Israël. Thus saith the LORD, thy redeemer, and he that formed thee from the womb, I am the LORD that maketh all things; that stretcheth forth the heavens alone; that spreadeth abroad the earth by myself;
- Ainsi parle l'Éternel, ton rédempteur, Celui qui t'a formé dès ta naissance: Moi, l'Éternel, j'ai fait toutes choses, Seul j'ai déployé les cieux, Seul j'ai étendu la terre. That frustrateth the tokens of the liars, and maketh diviners mad; that turneth wise men backward, and maketh their knowledge foolish;
- J'anéantis les signes des prophètes de mensonge, Et je proclame insensés les devins; Je fais reculer les sages, Et je tourne leur science en folie. (Ⅱ) - διασκεδάσει σημει̃α ἐγγαστριμύθων καὶ μαντείας ἀπὸ καρδίας ἀποστρέφων φρονίμους εἰς τὰ ὀπίσω καὶ τὴν βουλὴν αὐτω̃ν μωρεύων (Ⅲ) - irrita faciens signa divinorum,/ et ariolos in furorem vertens ;/ convertens sapientes retrorsum,/ et scientiam eorum stultam faciens ;/ (Ⅳ) - 25 ׃44 מפר אתות בדים וקסמים יהולל משיב חכמים אחור ודעתם ישכל (Ⅴ)

That confirmeth the word of his servant, and performeth the counsel of his messengers; that saith to Jerusalem, Thou shalt be inhabited; and to the cities of Judah, Ye shall be built, and I will raise up the decayed places thereof:
- Je confirme la parole de mon serviteur, Et j'accomplis ce que prédisent mes envoyés; Je dis de Jérusalem: Elle sera habitée, Et des villes de Juda: Elles seront rebâties; Et je relèverai leurs ruines. That saith of Cyrus, He is my shepherd, and shall perform all my pleasure: even saying to Jerusalem, Thou shalt be built; and to the temple, Thy foundation shall be laid.
- Je dis de Cyrus: Il est mon berger, Et il accomplira toute ma volonté; Il dira de Jérusalem: Qu'elle soit rebâtie! Et du temple: Qu'il soit fondé!
