Now will I sing to my wellbeloved a song of my beloved touching his vineyard. My wellbeloved hath a vineyard in a very fruitful hill:
- Je chanterai à mon bien-aimé Le cantique de mon bien-aimé sur sa vigne. Mon bien-aimé avait une vigne, Sur un coteau fertile. And he fenced it, and gathered out the stones thereof, and planted it with the choicest vine, and built a tower in the midst of it, and also made a winepress therein: and he looked that it should bring forth grapes, and it brought forth wild grapes.
- Il en remua le sol, ôta les pierres, et y mit un plant délicieux; Il bâtit une tour au milieu d'elle, Et il y creusa aussi une cuve. Puis il espéra qu'elle produirait de bons raisins, Mais elle en a produit de mauvais. (Ⅱ) - καὶ φραγμὸν περιέθηκα καὶ ἐχαράκωσα καὶ ἐφύτευσα ἄμπελον σωρηχ καὶ ὠ̨κοδόμησα πύργον ἐν μέσω̨ αὐτου̃ καὶ προλήνιον ὤρυξα ἐν αὐτω̨̃ καὶ ἔμεινα του̃ ποιη̃σαι σταφυλήν ἐποίησεν δὲ ἀκάνθας (Ⅲ) - Et sepivit eam, et lapides elegit ex illa,/ et plantavit eam electam ;/ et ædificavit turrim in medio ejus,/ et torcular exstruxit in ea ;/ et exspectavit ut faceret uvas,/ et fecit labruscas./ (Ⅳ) - 2 ׃5 ויעזקהו ויסקלהו ויטעהו שרק ויבן מגדל בתוכו וגם יקב חצב בו ויקו לעשות ענבים ויעש באשים (Ⅴ)

And now, O inhabitants of Jerusalem, and men of Judah, judge, I pray you, betwixt me and my vineyard.
- Maintenant donc, habitants de Jérusalem et hommes de Juda, Soyez juges entre moi et ma vigne! (Ⅱ) - καὶ νυ̃ν ἄνθρωπος του̃ Ιουδα καὶ οἱ ἐνοικου̃ντες ἐν Ιερουσαλημ κρίνατε ἐν ἐμοὶ καὶ ἀνὰ μέσον του̃ ἀμπελω̃νός μου (Ⅲ) - Nunc ergo, habitatores Jerusalem/ et viri Juda,/ judicate inter me/ et vineam meam./ (Ⅳ) - 3 ׃5 ועתה יושב ירושלם ואיש יהודה שפטו נא ביני ובין כרמי (Ⅴ)

What could have been done more to my vineyard, that I have not done in it? wherefore, when I looked that it should bring forth grapes, brought it forth wild grapes?
- Qu'y avait-il encore à faire à ma vigne, Que je n'aie pas fait pour elle? Pourquoi, quand j'ai espéré qu'elle produirait de bons raisins, En a-t-elle produit de mauvais? (Ⅱ) - τί ποιήσω ἔτι τω̨̃ ἀμπελω̃νί μου καὶ οὐκ ἐποίησα αὐτω̨̃ διότι ἔμεινα του̃ ποιη̃σαι σταφυλήν ἐποίησεν δὲ ἀκάνθας (Ⅲ) - Quid est quod debui ultra facere vineæ meæ,/ et non feci ei ?/ an quod exspectavi ut faceret uvas,/ et fecit labruscas ?/ (Ⅳ) - 4 ׃5 מה לעשות עוד לכרמי ולא עשיתי בו מדוע קויתי לעשות ענבים ויעש באשים (Ⅴ)

And now go to; I will tell you what I will do to my vineyard: I will take away the hedge thereof, and it shall be eaten up; and break down the wall thereof, and it shall be trodden down:
- Je vous dirai maintenant Ce que je vais faire à ma vigne. J'en arracherai la haie, pour qu'elle soit broutée; J'en abattrai la clôture, pour qu'elle soit foulée aux pieds. (Ⅱ) - νυ̃ν δὲ ἀναγγελω̃ ὑμι̃ν τί ποιήσω τω̨̃ ἀμπελω̃νί μου ἀφελω̃ τὸν φραγμὸν αὐτου̃ καὶ ἔσται εἰς διαρπαγήν καὶ καθελω̃ τὸν τοι̃χον αὐτου̃ καὶ ἔσται εἰς καταπάτημα (Ⅲ) - Et nunc ostendam vobis/ quid ego faciam vineæ meæ :/ auferam sepem ejus,/ et erit in direptionem ;/ diruam maceriam ejus,/ et erit in conculcationem./ (Ⅳ) - 5 ׃5 ועתה אודיעה נא אתכם את אשר אני עשה לכרמי הסר משוכתו והיה לבער פרץ גדרו והיה למרמס (Ⅴ)

And I will lay it waste: it shall not be pruned, nor digged; but there shall come up briers and thorns: I will also command the clouds that they rain no rain upon it.
- Je la réduirai en ruine; elle ne sera plus taillée, ni cultivée; Les ronces et les épines y croîtront; Et je donnerai mes ordres aux nuées, Afin qu'elles ne laissent plus tomber la pluie sur elle. (Ⅱ) - καὶ ἀνήσω τὸν ἀμπελω̃νά μου καὶ οὐ μὴ τμηθη̨̃ οὐδὲ μὴ σκαφη̨̃ καὶ ἀναβήσεται εἰς αὐτὸν ὡς εἰς χέρσον ἄκανθα καὶ ται̃ς νεφέλαις ἐντελου̃μαι του̃ μὴ βρέξαι εἰς αὐτὸν ὑετόν (Ⅲ) - Et ponam eam desertam ;/ non putabitur et non fodietur :/ et ascendent vepres et spinæ,/ et nubibus mandabo/ ne pluant super eam imbrem./ (Ⅳ) - 6 ׃5 ואשיתהו בתה לא יזמר ולא יעדר ועלה שמיר ושית ועל העבים אצוה מהמטיר עליו מטר (Ⅴ)

For the vineyard of the LORD of hosts is the house of Israel, and the men of Judah his pleasant plant: and he looked for judgment, but behold oppression; for righteousness, but behold a cry.
- La vigne de l'Éternel des armées, c'est la maison d'Israël, Et les hommes de Juda, c'est le plant qu'il chérissait. Il avait espéré de la droiture, et voici du sang versé! De la justice, et voici des cris de détresse! (Ⅱ) - ὁ γὰρ ἀμπελὼν κυρίου σαβαωθ οἰ̃κος του̃ Ισραηλ ἐστίν καὶ ἄνθρωπος του̃ Ιουδα νεόφυτον ἠγαπημένον ἔμεινα του̃ ποιη̃σαι κρίσιν ἐποίησεν δὲ ἀνομίαν καὶ οὐ δικαιοσύνην ἀλλὰ κραυγήν (Ⅲ) - Vinea enim Domini exercituum/ domus Israël est ;/ et vir Juda/ germen ejus delectabile :/ et exspectavi ut faceret judicium,/ et ecce iniquitas ;/ et justitiam, et ecce clamor.]\ (Ⅳ) - 7 ׃5 כי כרם יהוה צבאות בית ישראל ואיש יהודה נטע שעשועיו ויקו למשפט והנה משפח לצדקה והנה צעקה ס (Ⅴ)

Woe unto them that join house to house, that lay field to field, till there be no place, that they may be placed alone in the midst of the earth!
- Malheur à ceux qui ajoutent maison à maison, Et qui joignent champ à champ, Jusqu'à ce qu'il n'y ait plus d'espace, Et qu'ils habitent seuls au milieu du pays! (Ⅱ) - οὐαὶ οἱ συνάπτοντες οἰκίαν πρὸς οἰκίαν καὶ ἀγρὸν πρὸς ἀγρὸν ἐγγίζοντες ἵνα του̃ πλησίον ἀφέλωνταί τι μὴ οἰκήσετε μόνοι ἐπὶ τη̃ς γη̃ς (Ⅲ) - Væ qui conjungitis domum ad domum,/ et agrum agro copulatis/ usque ad terminum loci !/ Numquid habitabitis vos soli/ in medio terræ ?/ (Ⅳ) - 8 ׃5 הוי מגיעי בית בבית שדה בשדה יקריבו עד אפס מקום והושבתם לבדכם בקרב הארץ (Ⅴ)

In mine ears said the LORD of hosts, Of a truth many houses shall be desolate, even great and fair, without inhabitant.
- Voici ce que m'a révélé l'Éternel des armées: Certainement, ces maisons nombreuses seront dévastées, Ces grandes et belles maisons n'auront plus d'habitants. (Ⅱ) - ἠκούσθη γὰρ εἰς τὰ ὠ̃τα κυρίου σαβαωθ ταυ̃τα ἐὰν γὰρ γένωνται οἰκίαι πολλαί εἰς ἔρημον ἔσονται μεγάλαι καὶ καλαί καὶ οὐκ ἔσονται οἱ ἐνοικου̃ντες ἐν αὐται̃ς (Ⅲ) - In auribus meis sunt hæc,/ dicit Dominus exercituum ;/ nisi domus multæ desertæ fuerint,/ grandes et pulchræ, absque habitatore./ (Ⅳ) - 9 ׃5 באזני יהוה צבאות אם לא בתים רבים לשמה יהיו גדלים וטובים מאין יושב (Ⅴ)

Yea, ten acres of vineyard shall yield one bath, and the seed of an homer shall yield an ephah.
- Même dix arpents de vigne ne produiront qu'un bath, Et un homer de semence ne produira qu'un épha. (Ⅱ) - οὑ̃ γὰρ ἐργω̃νται δέκα ζεύγη βοω̃ν ποιήσει κεράμιον ἕν καὶ ὁ σπείρων ἀρτάβας ἓξ ποιήσει μέτρα τρία (Ⅲ) - Decem enim jugera vinearum facient lagunculam unam,/ et triginta modii sementis facient modios tres./ (Ⅳ) - 10 ׃5 כי עשרת צמדי כרם יעשו בת אחת וזרע חמר יעשה איפה פ (Ⅴ)

Woe unto them that rise up early in the morning, that they may follow strong drink; that continue until night, till wine inflame them!
- Malheur à ceux qui de bon matin Courent après les boissons enivrantes, Et qui bien avant dans la nuit Sont échauffés par le vin! (Ⅱ) - οὐαὶ οἱ ἐγειρόμενοι τὸ πρωὶ καὶ τὸ σικερα διώκοντες οἱ μένοντες τὸ ὀψέ ὁ γὰρ οἰ̃νος αὐτοὺς συγκαύσει (Ⅲ) - Væ qui consurgitis mane/ ad ebrietatem sectandam,/ et potandum usque ad vesperam,/ ut vino æstuetis !/ (Ⅳ) - 11 ׃5 הוי משכימי בבקר שכר ירדפו מאחרי בנשף יין ידליקם (Ⅴ)

And the harp, and the viol, the tabret, and pipe, and wine, are in their feasts: but they regard not the work of the LORD, neither consider the operation of his hands.
- La harpe et le luth, le tambourin, la flûte et le vin, animent leurs festins; Mais ils ne prennent point garde à l'oeuvre de l'Éternel, Et ils ne voient point le travail de ses mains. (Ⅱ) - μετὰ γὰρ κιθάρας καὶ ψαλτηρίου καὶ τυμπάνων καὶ αὐλω̃ν τὸν οἰ̃νον πίνουσιν τὰ δὲ ἔργα κυρίου οὐκ ἐμβλέπουσιν καὶ τὰ ἔργα τω̃ν χειρω̃ν αὐτου̃ οὐ κατανοου̃σιν (Ⅲ) - Cithara, et lyra, et tympanum,/ et tibia, et vinum in conviviis vestris ;/ et opus Domini non respicitis,/ nec opera manuum ejus consideratis./ (Ⅳ) - 12 ׃5 והיה כנור ונבל תף וחליל ויין משתיהם ואת פעל יהוה לא יביטו ומעשה ידיו לא ראו (Ⅴ)

Therefore my people are gone into captivity, because they have no knowledge: and their honourable men are famished, and their multitude dried up with thirst.
- C'est pourquoi mon peuple sera soudain emmené captif; Sa noblesse mourra de faim, Et sa multitude sera desséchée par la soif. (Ⅱ) - τοίνυν αἰχμάλωτος ὁ λαός μου ἐγενήθη διὰ τὸ μὴ εἰδέναι αὐτοὺς τὸν κύριον καὶ πλη̃θος ἐγενήθη νεκρω̃ν διὰ λιμὸν καὶ δίψαν ὕδατος (Ⅲ) - Propterea captivus ductus est populus meus,/ quia non habuit scientiam,/ et nobiles ejus interierunt fame,/ et multitudo ejus siti exaruit./ (Ⅳ) - 13 ׃5 לכן גלה עמי מבלי דעת וכבודו מתי רעב והמונו צחה צמא (Ⅴ)

Therefore hell hath enlarged herself, and opened her mouth without measure: and their glory, and their multitude, and their pomp, and he that rejoiceth, shall descend into it.
- C'est pourquoi le séjour de morts ouvre sa bouche, Élargit sa gueule outre mesure; Alors descendent la magnificence et la richesse de Sion, Et sa foule bruyante et joyeuse. (Ⅱ) - καὶ ἐπλάτυνεν ὁ ἅ̨δης τὴν ψυχὴν αὐτου̃ καὶ διήνοιξεν τὸ στόμα αὐτου̃ του̃ μὴ διαλιπει̃ν καὶ καταβήσονται οἱ ἔνδοξοι καὶ οἱ μεγάλοι καὶ οἱ πλούσιοι καὶ οἱ λοιμοὶ αὐτη̃ς (Ⅲ) - Propterea dilatavit infernus animam suam,/ et aperuit os suum absque ullo termino ;/ et descendent fortes ejus,/ et populus ejus, et sublimes gloriosique ejus, ad eum./ (Ⅳ) - 14 ׃5 לכן הרחיבה שאול נפשה ופערה פיה לבלי חק וירד הדרה והמונה ושאונה ועלז בה (Ⅴ)

And the mean man shall be brought down, and the mighty man shall be humbled, and the eyes of the lofty shall be humbled:
- Les petits seront abattus, les grands seront humiliés, Et les regards des hautains seront abaissés. (Ⅱ) - καὶ ταπεινωθήσεται ἄνθρωπος καὶ ἀτιμασθήσεται ἀνήρ καὶ οἱ ὀφθαλμοὶ οἱ μετέωροι ταπεινωθήσονται (Ⅲ) - Et incurvabitur homo, et humiliabitur vir,/ et oculi sublimium deprimentur./ (Ⅳ) - 15 ׃5 וישח אדם וישפל איש ועיני גבהים תשפלנה (Ⅴ)

But the LORD of hosts shall be exalted in judgment, and God that is holy shall be sanctified in righteousness.
- L'Éternel des armées sera élevé par le jugement, Et le Dieu saint sera sanctifié par la justice. (Ⅱ) - καὶ ὑψωθήσεται κύριος σαβαωθ ἐν κρίματι καὶ ὁ θεὸς ὁ ἅγιος δοξασθήσεται ἐν δικαιοσύνη̨ (Ⅲ) - Et exaltabitur Dominus exercituum in judicio ;/ et Deus sanctus sanctificabitur in justitia./ (Ⅳ) - 16 ׃5 ויגבה[1] יהוה צבאות במשפט והאל הקדוש נקדש בצדקה (Ⅴ)

Then shall the lambs feed after their manner, and the waste places of the fat ones shall strangers eat.
- Des brebis paîtront comme sur leur pâturage, Et des étrangers dévoreront les possessions ruinées des riches. (Ⅱ) - καὶ βοσκηθήσονται οἱ διηρπασμένοι ὡς ταυ̃ροι καὶ τὰς ἐρήμους τω̃ν ἀπειλημμένων ἄρνες φάγονται (Ⅲ) - Et pascentur agni juxta ordinem suum,/ et deserta in ubertatem versa advenæ comedent.]\ (Ⅳ) - 17 ׃5 ורעו כבשים כדברם וחרבות מחים גרים יאכלו (Ⅴ)

Woe unto them that draw iniquity with cords of vanity, and sin as it were with a cart rope:
- Malheur à ceux qui tirent l'iniquité avec les cordes du vice, Et le péché comme avec les traits d'un char, (Ⅱ) - οὐαὶ οἱ ἐπισπώμενοι τὰς ἁμαρτίας ὡς σχοινίω̨ μακρω̨̃ καὶ ὡς ζυγου̃ ἱμάντι δαμάλεως τὰς ἀνομίας (Ⅲ) - Væ qui trahitis iniquitatem/ in funiculis vanitatis,/ et quasi vinculum plaustri peccatum !/ (Ⅳ) - 18 ׃5 הוי משכי העון בחבלי השוא וכעבות העגלה חטאה (Ⅴ)

That say, Let him make speed, and hasten his work, that we may see it: and let the counsel of the Holy One of Israel draw nigh and come, that we may know it!
- Et qui disent: Qu'il hâte, qu'il accélère son oeuvre, Afin que nous la voyions! Que le décret du Saint d'Israël arrive et s'exécute, Afin que nous le connaissions! (Ⅱ) - οἱ λέγοντες τὸ τάχος ἐγγισάτω ἃ ποιήσει ἵνα ἴδωμεν καὶ ἐλθάτω ἡ βουλὴ του̃ ἁγίου Ισραηλ ἵνα γνω̃μεν (Ⅲ) - qui dicitis : Festinet,/ et cito veniat opus ejus, ut videamus ;/ et appropiet, et veniat/ consilium sancti Israël,/ et sciemus illud !/ (Ⅳ) - 19 ׃5 האמרים ימהר יחישה מעשהו למען נראה ותקרב ותבואה עצת קדוש ישראל ונדעה ס (Ⅴ)

Woe unto them that call evil good, and good evil; that put darkness for light, and light for darkness; that put bitter for sweet, and sweet for bitter!
- Malheur à ceux qui appellent le mal bien, et le bien mal, Qui changent les ténèbres en lumière, et la lumière en ténèbres, Qui changent l'amertume en douceur, et la douceur en amertume! (Ⅱ) - οὐαὶ οἱ λέγοντες τὸ πονηρὸν καλὸν καὶ τὸ καλὸν πονηρόν οἱ τιθέντες τὸ σκότος φω̃ς καὶ τὸ φω̃ς σκότος οἱ τιθέντες τὸ πικρὸν γλυκὺ καὶ τὸ γλυκὺ πικρόν (Ⅲ) - Væ qui dicitis malum bonum,/ et bonum malum ;/ ponentes tenebras lucem,/ et lucem tenebras ;/ ponentes amarum in dulce,/ et dulce in amarum !/ (Ⅳ) - 20 ׃5 הוי האמרים לרע טוב ולטוב רע שמים חשך לאור ואור לחשך שמים מר למתוק ומתוק למר ס (Ⅴ)

Woe unto them that are wise in their own eyes, and prudent in their own sight!
- Malheur à ceux qui sont sages à leurs yeux, Et qui se croient intelligents! (Ⅱ) - οὐαὶ οἱ συνετοὶ ἐν ἑαυτοι̃ς καὶ ἐνώπιον ἑαυτω̃ν ἐπιστήμονες (Ⅲ) - Væ qui sapientes estis in oculis vestris,/ et coram vobismetipsis prudentes./ (Ⅳ) - 21 ׃5 הוי חכמים בעיניהם ונגד פניהם נבנים (Ⅴ)

Woe unto them that are mighty to drink wine, and men of strength to mingle strong drink:
- Malheur à ceux qui ont de la bravoure pour boire du vin, Et de la vaillance pour mêler des liqueurs fortes; (Ⅱ) - οὐαὶ οἱ ἰσχύοντες ὑμω̃ν οἱ τὸν οἰ̃νον πίνοντες καὶ οἱ δυνάσται οἱ κεραννύντες τὸ σικερα (Ⅲ) - Væ qui potentes estis ad bibendum vinum,/ et viri fortes ad miscendam ebrietatem !/ (Ⅳ) - 22 ׃5 הוי גבורים לשתות יין ואנשי חיל למסך שכר (Ⅴ)

Which justify the wicked for reward, and take away the righteousness of the righteous from him!
- Qui justifient le coupable pour un présent, Et enlèvent aux innocents leurs droits! (Ⅱ) - οἱ δικαιου̃ντες τὸν ἀσεβη̃ ἕνεκεν δώρων καὶ τὸ δίκαιον του̃ δικαίου αἴροντες (Ⅲ) - qui justificatis impium pro muneribus,/ et justitiam justi aufertis ab eo !/ (Ⅳ) - 23 ׃5 מצדיקי רשע עקב שחד וצדקת צדיקים יסירו ממנו ס (Ⅴ)

Therefore as the fire devoureth the stubble, and the flame consumeth the chaff, so their root shall be as rottenness, and their blossom shall go up as dust: because they have cast away the law of the LORD of hosts, and despised the word of the Holy One of Israel.
- C'est pourquoi, comme une langue de feu dévore le chaume, Et comme la flamme consume l'herbe sèche, Ainsi leur racine sera comme de la pourriture, Et leur fleur se dissipera comme de la poussière; Car ils ont dédaigné la loi de l'Éternel des armées, Et ils ont méprisé la parole du Saint d'Israël. (Ⅱ) - διὰ του̃το ὃν τρόπον καυθήσεται καλάμη ὑπὸ ἄνθρακος πυρὸς καὶ συγκαυθήσεται ὑπὸ φλογὸς ἀνειμένης ἡ ῥίζα αὐτω̃ν ὡς χνου̃ς ἔσται καὶ τὸ ἄνθος αὐτω̃ν ὡς κονιορτὸς ἀναβήσεται οὐ γὰρ ἠθέλησαν τὸν νόμον κυρίου σαβαωθ ἀλλὰ τὸ λόγιον του̃ ἁγίου Ισραηλ παρώξυναν (Ⅲ) - Propter hoc, sicut devorat stipulam lingua ignis,/ et calor flammæ exurit,/ sic radix eorum quasi favilla erit,/ et germen eorum ut pulvis ascendet ;/ abjecerunt enim legem Domini exercituum,/ et eloquium sancti Israël blasphemaverunt./ (Ⅳ) - 24 ׃5 לכן כאכל קש לשון אש וחשש להבה ירפה שרשם כמק יהיה ופרחם כאבק יעלה כי מאסו את תורת יהוה צבאות ואת אמרת קדוש ישראל נאצו (Ⅴ)

Therefore is the anger of the LORD kindled against his people, and he hath stretched forth his hand against them, and hath smitten them: and the hills did tremble, and their carcases were torn in the midst of the streets. For all this his anger is not turned away, but his hand is stretched out still.
- C'est pourquoi la colère de l'Éternel s'enflamme contre son peuple, Il étend sa main sur lui, et il le frappe; Les montagnes s'ébranlent; Et les cadavres sont comme des balayures au milieu des rues. Malgré tout cela, sa colère ne s'apaise point, Et sa main est encore étendue. (Ⅱ) - καὶ ἐθυμώθη ὀργη̨̃ κύριος σαβαωθ ἐπὶ τὸν λαὸν αὐτου̃ καὶ ἐπέβαλεν τὴν χει̃ρα αὐτου̃ ἐπ' αὐτοὺς καὶ ἐπάταξεν αὐτούς καὶ παρωξύνθη τὰ ὄρη καὶ ἐγενήθη τὰ θνησιμαι̃α αὐτω̃ν ὡς κοπρία ἐν μέσω̨ ὁδου̃ καὶ ἐν πα̃σι τούτοις οὐκ ἀπεστράφη ὁ θυμός ἀλλ' ἔτι ἡ χεὶρ ὑψηλή (Ⅲ) - Ideo iratus est furor Domini in populum suum,/ et extendit manum suam super eum, et percussit eum :/ et conturbati sunt montes,/ et facta sunt morticina eorum quasi stercus in medio platearum./ In his omnibus non est adversus furor ejus,/ sed adhuc manus ejus extenta./ (Ⅳ) - 25 ׃5 על כן חרה אף יהוה בעמו ויט ידו עליו ויכהו וירגזו ההרים ותהי נבלתם כסוחה בקרב חוצות בכל זאת לא שב אפו ועוד ידו נטויה (Ⅴ)

And he will lift up an ensign to the nations from far, and will hiss unto them from the end of the earth: and, behold, they shall come with speed swiftly:
- Il élève une bannière pour les peuples lointains, Et il en siffle un des extrémités de la terre: Et voici, il arrive avec promptitude et légèreté. (Ⅱ) - τοιγαρου̃ν ἀρει̃ σύσσημον ἐν τοι̃ς ἔθνεσιν τοι̃ς μακρὰν καὶ συριει̃ αὐτοι̃ς ἀπ' ἄκρου τη̃ς γη̃ς καὶ ἰδοὺ ταχὺ κούφως ἔρχονται (Ⅲ) - Et elevabit signum in nationibus procul,/ et sibilabit ad eum de finibus terræ :/ et ecce festinus velociter veniet./ (Ⅳ) - 26 ׃5 ונשא נס לגוים מרחוק ושרק לו מקצה הארץ והנה מהרה קל יבוא (Ⅴ)

None shall be weary nor stumble among them; none shall slumber nor sleep; neither shall the girdle of their loins be loosed, nor the latchet of their shoes be broken:
- Nul n'est fatigué, nul ne chancelle de lassitude, Personne ne sommeille, ni ne dort; Aucun n'a la ceinture de ses reins détachée, Ni la courroie de ses souliers rompue. (Ⅱ) - οὐ πεινάσουσιν οὐδὲ κοπιάσουσιν οὐδὲ νυστάξουσιν οὐδὲ κοιμηθήσονται οὐδὲ λύσουσιν τὰς ζώνας αὐτω̃ν ἀπὸ τη̃ς ὀσφύος αὐτω̃ν οὐδὲ μὴ ῥαγω̃σιν οἱ ἱμάντες τω̃ν ὑποδημάτων αὐτω̃ν (Ⅲ) - Non est deficiens neque laborans in eo ;/ non dormitabit, neque dormiet ;/ neque solvetur cingulum renum ejus,/ nec rumpetur corrigia calceamenti ejus./ (Ⅳ) - 27 ׃5 אין עיף ואין כושל בו לא ינום ולא יישן ולא נפתח אזור חלציו ולא נתק שרוך נעליו (Ⅴ)

Whose arrows are sharp, and all their bows bent, their horses' hoofs shall be counted like flint, and their wheels like a whirlwind:
- Ses flèches sont aiguës, Et tous ses arcs tendus; Les sabots de ses chevaux ressemblent à des cailloux, Et les roues de ses chars à un tourbillon. (Ⅱ) - ὡ̃ν τὰ βέλη ὀξει̃ά ἐστιν καὶ τὰ τόξα αὐτω̃ν ἐντεταμένα οἱ πόδες τω̃ν ἵππων αὐτω̃ν ὡς στερεὰ πέτρα ἐλογίσθησαν οἱ τροχοὶ τω̃ν ἁρμάτων αὐτω̃ν ὡς καταιγίς (Ⅲ) - Sagittæ ejus acutæ, et omnes arcus ejus extenti./ Ungulæ equorum ejus ut silex,/ et rotæ ejus quasi impetus tempestatis./ (Ⅳ) - 28 ׃5 אשר חציו שנונים וכל קשתתיו דרכות פרסות סוסיו כצר נחשבו וגלגליו כסופה (Ⅴ)

Their roaring shall be like a lion, they shall roar like young lions: yea, they shall roar, and lay hold of the prey, and shall carry it away safe, and none shall deliver it.
- Son rugissement est comme celui d'une lionne; Il rugit comme des lionceaux, il gronde, et saisit la proie, Il l'emporte, et personne ne vient au secours. (Ⅱ) - ὁρμω̃σιν ὡς λέοντες καὶ παρέστηκαν ὡς σκύμνος λέοντος καὶ ἐπιλήμψεται καὶ βοήσει ὡς θηρίου καὶ ἐκβαλει̃ καὶ οὐκ ἔσται ὁ ῥυόμενος αὐτούς (Ⅲ) - Rugitus ejus ut leonis ;/ rugiet ut catuli leonum :/ et frendet, et tenebit prædam,/ et amplexabitur, et non erit qui eruat./ (Ⅳ) - 29 ׃5 שאגה לו כלביא *ושאג **ישאג ככפירים וינהם ויאחז טרף ויפליט ואין מציל (Ⅴ)

And in that day they shall roar against them like the roaring of the sea: and if one look unto the land, behold darkness and sorrow, and the light is darkened in the heavens thereof.
- En ce jour, il y aura près de lui un mugissement, Comme celui d'une tempête sur mer; En regardant la terre, on ne verra que ténèbres, Avec des alternatives d'angoisse et d'espérance; Au ciel, l'obscurité régnera. (Ⅱ) - καὶ βοήσει δι' αὐτοὺς ἐν τη̨̃ ἡμέρα̨ ἐκείνη̨ ὡς φωνὴ θαλάσσης κυμαινούσης καὶ ἐμβλέψονται εἰς τὴν γη̃ν καὶ ἰδοὺ σκότος σκληρὸν ἐν τη̨̃ ἀπορία̨ αὐτω̃ν (Ⅲ) - Et sonabit super eum in die illa sicut sonitus maris :/ aspiciemus in terram,/ et ecce tenebræ tribulationis,/ et lux obtenebrata est in caligine ejus.] (Ⅳ) - 30 ׃5 וינהם עליו ביום ההוא כנהמת ים ונבט לארץ והנה חשך צר ואור חשך בעריפיה פ (Ⅴ)
