Il frappa tous les premiers-nés en Égypte, Les prémices de la force sous les tentes de Cham.
- And smote all the firstborn in Egypt; the chief of their strength in the tabernacles of Ham: (Ⅱ) - καὶ ἐπάταξεν πα̃ν πρωτότοκον ἐν Αἰγύπτω̨ ἀπαρχὴν τω̃ν πόνων αὐτω̃ν ἐν τοι̃ς σκηνώμασι Χαμ (Ⅲ) - et percussit omne primogenitum in terra Ægypti ;/ primitias omnis laboris eorum in tabernaculis Cham :/ (Ⅳ) - 51 ׃78 ויך כל בכור במצרים ראשית אונים באהלי חם (Ⅴ)

Il fit partir son peuple comme des brebis, Il les conduisit comme un troupeau dans le désert.
- But made his own people to go forth like sheep, and guided them in the wilderness like a flock. (Ⅱ) - καὶ ἀπη̃ρεν ὡς πρόβατα τὸν λαὸν αὐτου̃ καὶ ἀνήγαγεν αὐτοὺς ὡς ποίμνιον ἐν ἐρήμω̨ (Ⅲ) - et abstulit sicut oves populum suum,/ et perduxit eos tamquam gregem in deserto :/ (Ⅳ) - 52 ׃78 ויסע כצאן עמו וינהגם כעדר במדבר (Ⅴ)

Il les dirigea sûrement, pour qu'ils fussent sans crainte, Et la mer couvrit leurs ennemis.
- And he led them on safely, so that they feared not: but the sea overwhelmed their enemies. (Ⅱ) - καὶ ὡδήγησεν αὐτοὺς ἐν ἐλπίδι καὶ οὐκ ἐδειλίασαν καὶ τοὺς ἐχθροὺς αὐτω̃ν ἐκάλυψεν θάλασσα (Ⅲ) - et deduxit eos in spe, et non timuerunt,/ et inimicos eorum operuit mare./ (Ⅳ) - 53 ׃78 וינחם לבטח ולא פחדו ואת אויביהם כסה הים (Ⅴ)

Il les amena vers sa frontière sainte, Vers cette montagne que sa droite a acquise.
- And he brought them to the border of his sanctuary, even to this mountain, which his right hand had purchased. (Ⅱ) - καὶ εἰσήγαγεν αὐτοὺς εἰς ὅριον ἁγιάσματος αὐτου̃ ὄρος του̃το ὃ ἐκτήσατο ἡ δεξιὰ αὐτου̃ (Ⅲ) - Et induxit eos in montem sanctificationis suæ,/ montem quem acquisivit dextera ejus ;/ et ejecit a facie eorum gentes,/ et sorte divisit eis terram in funiculo distributionis ;/ (Ⅳ) - 54 ׃78 ויביאם אל גבול קדשו הר זה קנתה ימינו (Ⅴ)

Il chassa devant eux les nations, Leur distribua le pays en héritage, Et fit habiter dans leurs tentes les tribus d'Israël.
- He cast out the heathen also before them, and divided them an inheritance by line, and made the tribes of Israel to dwell in their tents. (Ⅱ) - καὶ ἐξέβαλεν ἀπὸ προσώπου αὐτω̃ν ἔθνη καὶ ἐκληροδότησεν αὐτοὺς ἐν σχοινίω̨ κληροδοσίας καὶ κατεσκήνωσεν ἐν τοι̃ς σκηνώμασιν αὐτω̃ν τὰς φυλὰς του̃ Ισραηλ (Ⅲ) - et habitare fecit in tabernaculis eorum tribus Israël./ (Ⅳ) - 55 ׃78 ויגרש מפניהם גוים ויפילם בחבל נחלה וישכן באהליהם שבטי ישראל (Ⅴ)

Mais ils tentèrent le Dieu Très Haut et se révoltèrent contre lui, Et ils n'observèrent point ses ordonnances.
- Yet they tempted and provoked the most high God, and kept not his testimonies: (Ⅱ) - καὶ ἐπείρασαν καὶ παρεπίκραναν τὸν θεὸν τὸν ὕψιστον καὶ τὰ μαρτύρια αὐτου̃ οὐκ ἐφυλάξαντο (Ⅲ) - Et tentaverunt, et exacerbaverunt Deum excelsum,/ et testimonia ejus non custodierunt./ (Ⅳ) - 56 ׃78 וינסו וימרו את אלהים עליון ועדותיו לא שמרו (Ⅴ)

Ils s'éloignèrent et furent infidèles, comme leurs pères, Ils tournèrent, comme un arc trompeur.
- But turned back, and dealt unfaithfully like their fathers: they were turned aside like a deceitful bow. (Ⅱ) - καὶ ἀπέστρεψαν καὶ ἠσυνθέτησαν καθὼς καὶ οἱ πατέρες αὐτω̃ν καὶ μετεστράφησαν εἰς τόξον στρεβλὸν (Ⅲ) - Et averterunt se, et non servaverunt pactum :/ quemadmodum patres eorum, conversi sunt in arcum pravum./ (Ⅳ) - 57 ׃78 ויסגו ויבגדו כאבותם נהפכו כקשת רמיה (Ⅴ)

Ils l'irritèrent par leurs hauts lieux, Et ils excitèrent sa jalousie par leurs idoles.
- For they provoked him to anger with their high places, and moved him to jealousy with their graven images. (Ⅱ) - καὶ παρώργισαν αὐτὸν ἐν τοι̃ς βουνοι̃ς αὐτω̃ν καὶ ἐν τοι̃ς γλυπτοι̃ς αὐτω̃ν παρεζήλωσαν αὐτόν (Ⅲ) - In iram concitaverunt eum in collibus suis,/ et in sculptilibus suis ad æmulationem eum provocaverunt./ (Ⅳ) - 58 ׃78 ויכעיסוהו בבמותם ובפסיליהם יקניאוהו (Ⅴ)

Dieu entendit, et il fut irrité; Il repoussa fortement Israël.
- When God heard this, he was wroth, and greatly abhorred Israel: (Ⅱ) - ἤκουσεν ὁ θεὸς καὶ ὑπερει̃δεν καὶ ἐξουδένωσεν σφόδρα τὸν Ισραηλ (Ⅲ) - Audivit Deus, et sprevit,/ et ad nihilum redegit valde Israël./ (Ⅳ) - 59 ׃78 שמע אלהים ויתעבר וימאס מאד בישראל (Ⅴ)

Il abandonna la demeure de Silo, La tente où il habitait parmi les hommes;
- So that he forsook the tabernacle of Shiloh, the tent which he placed among men; (Ⅱ) - καὶ ἀπώσατο τὴν σκηνὴν Σηλωμ σκήνωμα αὐτου̃ οὑ̃ κατεσκήνωσεν ἐν ἀνθρώποις (Ⅲ) - Et repulit tabernaculum Silo,/ tabernaculum suum, ubi habitavit in hominibus./ (Ⅳ) - 60 ׃78 ויטש משכן שלו אהל שכן באדם (Ⅴ)

Il livra sa gloire à la captivité, Et sa majesté entre les mains de l'ennemi.
- And delivered his strength into captivity, and his glory into the enemy's hand. (Ⅱ) - καὶ παρέδωκεν εἰς αἰχμαλωσίαν τὴν ἰσχὺν αὐτω̃ν καὶ τὴν καλλονὴν αὐτω̃ν εἰς χει̃ρας ἐχθρου̃ (Ⅲ) - Et tradidit in captivitatem virtutem eorum,/ et pulchritudinem eorum in manus inimici./ (Ⅳ) - 61 ׃78 ויתן לשבי עזו ותפארתו ביד צר (Ⅴ)

Il mit son peuple à la merci du glaive, Et il s'indigna contre son héritage.
- He gave his people over also unto the sword; and was wroth with his inheritance. (Ⅱ) - καὶ συνέκλεισεν εἰς ῥομφαίαν τὸν λαὸν αὐτου̃ καὶ τὴν κληρονομίαν αὐτου̃ ὑπερει̃δεν (Ⅲ) - Et conclusit in gladio populum suum,/ et hæreditatem suam sprevit./ (Ⅳ) - 62 ׃78 ויסגר לחרב עמו ובנחלתו התעבר (Ⅴ)

Le feu dévora ses jeunes hommes, Et ses vierges ne furent pas célébrées;
- The fire consumed their young men; and their maidens were not given to marriage. (Ⅱ) - τοὺς νεανίσκους αὐτω̃ν κατέφαγεν πυ̃ρ καὶ αἱ παρθένοι αὐτω̃ν οὐκ ἐπενθήθησαν (Ⅲ) - Juvenes eorum comedit ignis,/ et virgines eorum non sunt lamentatæ./ (Ⅳ) - 63 ׃78 בחוריו אכלה אש ובתולתיו לא הוללו (Ⅴ)

Ses sacrificateurs tombèrent par l'épée, Et ses veuves ne pleurèrent pas.
- Their priests fell by the sword; and their widows made no lamentation. (Ⅱ) - οἱ ἱερει̃ς αὐτω̃ν ἐν ῥομφαία̨ ἔπεσαν καὶ αἱ χη̃ραι αὐτω̃ν οὐ κλαυσθήσονται (Ⅲ) - Sacerdotes eorum in gladio ceciderunt,/ et viduæ eorum non plorabantur./ (Ⅳ) - 64 ׃78 כהניו בחרב נפלו ואלמנתיו לא תבכינה (Ⅴ)

Le Seigneur s'éveilla comme celui qui a dormi, Comme un héros qu'a subjugué le vin.
- Then the LORD awaked as one out of sleep, and like a mighty man that shouteth by reason of wine. (Ⅱ) - καὶ ἐξηγέρθη ὡς ὁ ὑπνω̃ν κύριος ὡς δυνατὸς κεκραιπαληκὼς ἐξ οἴνου (Ⅲ) - Et excitatus est tamquam dormiens Dominus,/ tamquam potens crapulatus a vino./ (Ⅳ) - 65 ׃78 ויקץ כישן אדני כגבור מתרונן מיין (Ⅴ)

Il frappa ses adversaires en fuite, Il les couvrit d'un opprobre éternel.
- And he smote his enemies in the hinder parts: he put them to a perpetual reproach. (Ⅱ) - καὶ ἐπάταξεν τοὺς ἐχθροὺς αὐτου̃ εἰς τὰ ὀπίσω ὄνειδος αἰώνιον ἔδωκεν αὐτοι̃ς (Ⅲ) - Et percussit inimicos suos in posteriora ;/ opprobrium sempiternum dedit illis./ (Ⅳ) - 66 ׃78 ויך צריו אחור חרפת עולם נתן למו (Ⅴ)

Cependant il rejeta la tente de Joseph, Et il ne choisit point la tribu d'Éphraïm;
- Moreover he refused the tabernacle of Joseph, and chose not the tribe of Ephraim: (Ⅱ) - καὶ ἀπώσατο τὸ σκήνωμα Ιωσηφ καὶ τὴν φυλὴν Εφραιμ οὐκ ἐξελέξατο (Ⅲ) - Et repulit tabernaculum Joseph,/ et tribum Ephraim non elegit :/ (Ⅳ) - 67 ׃78 וימאס באהל יוסף ובשבט אפרים לא בחר (Ⅴ)

Il préféra la tribu de Juda, La montagne de Sion qu'il aimait.
- But chose the tribe of Judah, the mount Zion which he loved. (Ⅱ) - καὶ ἐξελέξατο τὴν φυλὴν Ιουδα τὸ ὄρος τὸ Σιων ὃ ἠγάπησεν (Ⅲ) - sed elegit tribum Juda,/ montem Sion, quem dilexit./ (Ⅳ) - 68 ׃78 ויבחר את שבט יהודה את הר ציון אשר אהב (Ⅴ)

Et il bâtit son sanctuaire comme les lieux élevés, Comme la terre qu'il a fondée pour toujours.
- And he built his sanctuary like high palaces, like the earth which he hath established for ever. (Ⅱ) - καὶ ὠ̨κοδόμησεν ὡς μονοκερώτων τὸ ἁγίασμα αὐτου̃ ἐν τη̨̃ γη̨̃ ἐθεμελίωσεν αὐτὴν εἰς τὸν αἰω̃να (Ⅲ) - Et ædificavit sicut unicornium sanctificium suum,/ in terra quam fundavit in sæcula./ (Ⅳ) - 69 ׃78 ויבן כמו רמים מקדשו כארץ יסדה לעולם (Ⅴ)

Il choisit David, son serviteur, Et il le tira des bergeries;
- He chose David also his servant, and took him from the sheepfolds: (Ⅱ) - καὶ ἐξελέξατο Δαυιδ τὸν δου̃λον αὐτου̃ καὶ ἀνέλαβεν αὐτὸν ἐκ τω̃ν ποιμνίων τω̃ν προβάτων (Ⅲ) - Et elegit David, servum suum,/ et sustulit eum de gregibus ovium ;/ de post fœtantes accepit eum :/ (Ⅳ) - 70 ׃78 ויבחר בדוד עבדו ויקחהו ממכלאת צאן (Ⅴ)

Il le prit derrière les brebis qui allaitent, Pour lui faire paître Jacob, son peuple, Et Israël, son héritage.
- From following the ewes great with young he brought him to feed Jacob his people, and Israel his inheritance. (Ⅱ) - ἐξόπισθεν τω̃ν λοχευομένων ἔλαβεν αὐτὸν ποιμαίνειν Ιακωβ τὸν λαὸν αὐτου̃ καὶ Ισραηλ τὴν κληρονομίαν αὐτου̃ (Ⅲ) - pascere Jacob servum suum,/ et Israël hæreditatem suam./ (Ⅳ) - 71 ׃78 מאחר עלות הביאו לרעות ביעקב עמו ובישראל נחלתו (Ⅴ)

Et David les dirigea avec un coeur intègre, Et les conduisit avec des mains intelligentes.
- So he fed them according to the integrity of his heart; and guided them by the skilfulness of his hands. (Ⅱ) - καὶ ἐποίμανεν αὐτοὺς ἐν τη̨̃ ἀκακία̨ τη̃ς καρδίας αὐτου̃ καὶ ἐν ται̃ς συνέσεσι τω̃ν χειρω̃ν αὐτου̃ ὡδήγησεν αὐτούς (Ⅲ) - Et pavit eos in innocentia cordis sui,/ et in intellectibus manuum suarum deduxit eos.] (Ⅳ) - 72 ׃78 וירעם כתם לבבו ובתבונות כפיו ינחם (Ⅴ)
