After these things the word of the LORD came unto Abram in a vision, saying, Fear not, Abram: I am thy shield, and thy exceeding great reward.
- Après ces événements, la parole de l'Éternel fut adressée à Abram dans une vision, et il dit: Abram, ne crains point; je suis ton bouclier, et ta récompense sera très grande. (Ⅱ) - μετὰ δὲ τὰ ῥήματα ταυ̃τα ἐγενήθη ῥη̃μα κυρίου πρὸς Αβραμ ἐν ὁράματι λέγων μὴ φοβου̃ Αβραμ ἐγὼ ὑπερασπίζω σου ὁ μισθός σου πολὺς ἔσται σφόδρα (Ⅲ) - His itaque transactis, factus est sermo Domini ad Abram per visionem dicens : Noli timere, Abram : ego protector tuus sum, et merces tua magna nimis. (Ⅳ) - 1 ׃15 אחר הדברים האלה היה דבר יהוה אל אברם במחזה לאמר אל תירא אברם אנכי מגן לך שכרך הרבה מאד (Ⅴ)

And Abram said, LORD God, what wilt thou give me, seeing I go childless, and the steward of my house is this Eliezer of Damascus?
- Abram répondit: Seigneur Éternel, que me donneras-tu? Je m'en vais sans enfants; et l'héritier de ma maison, c'est Éliézer de Damas. (Ⅱ) - λέγει δὲ Αβραμ δέσποτα τί μοι δώσεις ἐγὼ δὲ ἀπολύομαι ἄτεκνος ὁ δὲ υἱὸς Μασεκ τη̃ς οἰκογενου̃ς μου οὑ̃τος Δαμασκὸς Ελιεζερ (Ⅲ) - Dixitque Abram : Domine Deus, quid dabis mihi ? ego vadam absque liberis, et filius procuratoris domus meæ iste Damascus Eliezer. (Ⅳ) - 2 ׃15 ויאמר אברם אדני יהוה מה תתן לי ואנכי הולך ערירי ובן משק ביתי הוא דמשק אליעזר (Ⅴ)

And Abram said, Behold, to me thou hast given no seed: and, lo, one born in my house is mine heir.
- Et Abram dit: Voici, tu ne m'as pas donné de postérité, et celui qui est né dans ma maison sera mon héritier. (Ⅱ) - καὶ εἰ̃πεν Αβραμ ἐπειδὴ ἐμοὶ οὐκ ἔδωκας σπέρμα ὁ δὲ οἰκογενής μου κληρονομήσει με (Ⅲ) - Addiditque Abram : Mihi autem non dedisti semen, et ecce vernaculus meus, hæres meus erit. (Ⅳ) - 3 ׃15 ויאמר אברם הן לי לא נתתה זרע והנה בן ביתי יורש אתי (Ⅴ)

And, behold, the word of the LORD came unto him, saying, This shall not be thine heir; but he that shall come forth out of thine own bowels shall be thine heir.
- Alors la parole de l'Éternel lui fut adressée ainsi: Ce n'est pas lui qui sera ton héritier, mais c'est celui qui sortira de tes entrailles qui sera ton héritier. (Ⅱ) - καὶ εὐθὺς φωνὴ κυρίου ἐγένετο πρὸς αὐτὸν λέγων οὐ κληρονομήσει σε οὑ̃τος ἀλλ' ὃς ἐξελεύσεται ἐκ σου̃ οὑ̃τος κληρονομήσει σε (Ⅲ) - Statimque sermo Domini factus est ad eum, dicens : Non erit hic hæres tuus, sed qui egredietur de utero tuo, ipsum habebis hæredem. (Ⅳ) - 4 ׃15 והנה דבר יהוה אליו לאמר לא יירשך זה כי אם אשר יצא ממעיך הוא יירשך (Ⅴ)

And he brought him forth abroad, and said, Look now toward heaven, and tell the stars, if thou be able to number them: and he said unto him, So shall thy seed be.
- Et après l'avoir conduit dehors, il dit: Regarde vers le ciel, et compte les étoiles, si tu peux les compter. Et il lui dit: Telle sera ta postérité. (Ⅱ) - ἐξήγαγεν δὲ αὐτὸν ἔξω καὶ εἰ̃πεν αὐτω̨̃ ἀνάβλεψον δὴ εἰς τὸν οὐρανὸν καὶ ἀρίθμησον τοὺς ἀστέρας εἰ δυνήση̨ ἐξαριθμη̃σαι αὐτούς καὶ εἰ̃πεν οὕτως ἔσται τὸ σπέρμα σου (Ⅲ) - Eduxitque eum foras, et ait illi : Suspice cælum, et numera stellas, si potes. Et dixit ei : Sic erit semen tuum. (Ⅳ) - 5 ׃15 ויוצא אתו החוצה ויאמר הבט נא השמימה וספר הכוכבים אם תוכל לספר אתם ויאמר לו כה יהיה זרעך (Ⅴ)

And he believed in the LORD; and he counted it to him for righteousness.
- Abram eut confiance en l'Éternel, qui le lui imputa à justice. (Ⅱ) - καὶ ἐπίστευσεν Αβραμ τω̨̃ θεω̨̃ καὶ ἐλογίσθη αὐτω̨̃ εἰς δικαιοσύνην (Ⅲ) - Credidit Abram Deo, et reputatum est illi ad justitiam. (Ⅳ) - 6 ׃15 והאמן ביהוה ויחשבה לו צדקה (Ⅴ)

And he said unto him, I am the LORD that brought thee out of Ur of the Chaldees, to give thee this land to inherit it.
- L'Éternel lui dit encore: Je suis l'Éternel, qui t'ai fait sortir d'Ur en Chaldée, pour te donner en possession ce pays. (Ⅱ) - εἰ̃πεν δὲ πρὸς αὐτόν ἐγὼ ὁ θεὸς ὁ ἐξαγαγών σε ἐκ χώρας Χαλδαίων ὥστε δου̃ναί σοι τὴν γη̃ν ταύτην κληρονομη̃σαι (Ⅲ) - Dixitque ad eum : Ego Dominus qui eduxi te de Ur Chaldæorum ut darem tibi terram istam, et possideres eam. (Ⅳ) - 7 ׃15 ויאמר אליו אני יהוה אשר הוצאתיך מאור כשדים לתת לך את הארץ הזאת לרשתה (Ⅴ)

And he said, LORD God, whereby shall I know that I shall inherit it?
- Abram répondit: Seigneur Éternel, à quoi connaîtrai-je que je le posséderai? (Ⅱ) - εἰ̃πεν δέ δέσποτα κύριε κατὰ τί γνώσομαι ὅτι κληρονομήσω αὐτήν (Ⅲ) - At ille ait : Domine Deus, unde scire possum quod possessurus sim eam ? (Ⅳ) - 8 ׃15 ויאמר אדני יהוה במה אדע כי אירשנה (Ⅴ)

And he said unto him, Take me an heifer of three years old, and a she goat of three years old, and a ram of three years old, and a turtledove, and a young pigeon.
- Et l'Éternel lui dit: Prends une génisse de trois ans, une chèvre de trois ans, un bélier de trois ans, une tourterelle et une jeune colombe. (Ⅱ) - εἰ̃πεν δὲ αὐτω̨̃ λαβέ μοι δάμαλιν τριετίζουσαν καὶ αἰ̃γα τριετίζουσαν καὶ κριὸν τριετίζοντα καὶ τρυγόνα καὶ περιστεράν (Ⅲ) - Et respondens Dominus : Sume, inquit, mihi vaccam triennem, et capram trimam, et arietem annorum trium, turturem quoque et columbam. (Ⅳ) - 9 ׃15 ויאמר אליו קחה לי עגלה משלשת ועז משלשת ואיל משלש ותר וגוזל (Ⅴ)

And he took unto him all these, and divided them in the midst, and laid each piece one against another: but the birds divided he not.
- Abram prit tous ces animaux, les coupa par le milieu, et mit chaque morceau l'un vis-à-vis de l'autre; mais il ne partagea point les oiseaux. (Ⅱ) - ἔλαβεν δὲ αὐτω̨̃ πάντα ταυ̃τα καὶ διει̃λεν αὐτὰ μέσα καὶ ἔθηκεν αὐτὰ ἀντιπρόσωπα ἀλλήλοις τὰ δὲ ὄρνεα οὐ διει̃λεν (Ⅲ) - Qui tollens universa hæc, divisit ea per medium, et utrasque partes contra se altrinsecus posuit ; aves autem non divisit. (Ⅳ) - 10 ׃15 ויקח לו את כל אלה ויבתר אתם בתוך ויתן איש בתרו לקראת רעהו ואת הצפר[1] לא בתר (Ⅴ)

And when the fowls came down upon the carcasses, Abram drove them away.
- Les oiseaux de proie s'abattirent sur les cadavres; et Abram les chassa. (Ⅱ) - κατέβη δὲ ὄρνεα ἐπὶ τὰ σώματα τὰ διχοτομήματα αὐτω̃ν καὶ συνεκάθισεν αὐτοι̃ς Αβραμ (Ⅲ) - Descenderuntque volucres super cadavera, et abigebat eas Abram. (Ⅳ) - 11 ׃15 וירד העיט על הפגרים וישב אתם אברם (Ⅴ)

And when the sun was going down, a deep sleep fell upon Abram; and, lo, an horror of great darkness fell upon him.
- Au coucher du soleil, un profond sommeil tomba sur Abram; et voici, une frayeur et une grande obscurité vinrent l'assaillir. (Ⅱ) - περὶ δὲ ἡλίου δυσμὰς ἔκστασις ἐπέπεσεν τω̨̃ Αβραμ καὶ ἰδοὺ φόβος σκοτεινὸς μέγας ἐπιπίπτει αὐτω̨̃ (Ⅲ) - Cumque sol occumberet, sopor irruit super Abram, et horror magnus et tenebrosus invasit eum. (Ⅳ) - 12 ׃15 ויהי השמש לבוא ותרדמה נפלה על אברם והנה אימה חשכה גדלה נפלת עליו (Ⅴ)

And he said unto Abram, Know of a surety that thy seed shall be a stranger in a land that is not theirs, and shall serve them; and they shall afflict them four hundred years;
- Et l'Éternel dit à Abram: Sache que tes descendants seront étrangers dans un pays qui ne sera point à eux; ils y seront asservis, et on les opprimera pendant quatre cents ans. (Ⅱ) - καὶ ἐρρέθη πρὸς Αβραμ γινώσκων γνώση̨ ὅτι πάροικον ἔσται τὸ σπέρμα σου ἐν γη̨̃ οὐκ ἰδία̨ καὶ δουλώσουσιν αὐτοὺς καὶ κακώσουσιν αὐτοὺς καὶ ταπεινώσουσιν αὐτοὺς τετρακόσια ἔτη (Ⅲ) - Dictumque est ad eum : Scito prænoscens quod peregrinum futurum sit semen tuum in terra non sua, et subjicient eos servituti, et affligent quadringentis annis. (Ⅳ) - 13 ׃15 ויאמר לאברם ידע תדע כי גר יהיה זרעך בארץ לא להם ועבדום וענו אתם ארבע מאות שנה (Ⅴ)

And also that nation, whom they shall serve, will I judge: and afterward shall they come out with great substance.
- Mais je jugerai la nation à laquelle ils seront asservis, et ils sortiront ensuite avec de grandes richesses. (Ⅱ) - τὸ δὲ ἔθνος ὡ̨̃ ἐὰν δουλεύσωσιν κρινω̃ ἐγώ μετὰ δὲ ταυ̃τα ἐξελεύσονται ὡ̃δε μετὰ ἀποσκευη̃ς πολλη̃ς (Ⅲ) - Verumtamen gentem, cui servituri sunt, ego judicabo : et post hæc egredientur cum magna substantia. (Ⅳ) - 14 ׃15 וגם את הגוי אשר יעבדו דן אנכי ואחרי כן יצאו ברכש גדול (Ⅴ)

15
And thou shalt go to thy fathers in peace; thou shalt be buried in a good old age.
- Toi, tu iras en paix vers tes pères, tu seras enterré après une heureuse vieillesse. (Ⅱ) - σὺ δὲ ἀπελεύση̨ πρὸς τοὺς πατέρας σου μετ' εἰρήνης ταφεὶς ἐν γήρει καλω̨̃ (Ⅲ) - Tu autem ibis ad patres tuos in pace, sepultus in senectute bona. (Ⅳ) - 15 ׃15 ואתה תבוא אל אבתיך בשלום תקבר בשיבה טובה (Ⅴ)

16
But in the fourth generation they shall come hither again: for the iniquity of the Amorites is not yet full.
- A la quatrième génération, ils reviendront ici; car l'iniquité des Amoréens n'est pas encore à son comble. (Ⅱ) - τετάρτη δὲ γενεὰ ἀποστραφήσονται ὡ̃δε οὔπω γὰρ ἀναπεπλήρωνται αἱ ἁμαρτίαι τω̃ν Αμορραίων ἕως του̃ νυ̃ν (Ⅲ) - Generatione autem quarta revertentur huc : necdum enim completæ sunt iniquitates Amorrhæorum usque ad præsens tempus. (Ⅳ) - 16 ׃15 ודור רביעי ישובו הנה כי לא שלם עון האמרי עד הנה (Ⅴ)

And it came to pass, that, when the sun went down, and it was dark, behold a smoking furnace, and a burning lamp that passed between those pieces.
- Quand le soleil fut couché, il y eut une obscurité profonde; et voici, ce fut une fournaise fumante, et des flammes passèrent entre les animaux partagés. (Ⅱ) - ἐπεὶ δὲ ἐγίνετο ὁ ἥλιος πρὸς δυσμαι̃ς φλὸξ ἐγένετο καὶ ἰδοὺ κλίβανος καπνιζόμενος καὶ λαμπάδες πυρός αἳ διη̃λθον ἀνὰ μέσον τω̃ν διχοτομημάτων τούτων (Ⅲ) - Cum ergo occubuisset sol, facta est caligo tenebrosa, et apparuit clibanus fumans, et lampas ignis transiens inter divisiones illas. (Ⅳ) - 17 ׃15 ויהי השמש באה ועלטה היה והנה תנור עשן ולפיד אש אשר עבר בין הגזרים האלה (Ⅴ)

In the same day the LORD made a covenant with Abram, saying, Unto thy seed have I given this land, from the river of Egypt unto the great river, the river Euphrates:
- En ce jour-là, l'Éternel fit alliance avec Abram, et dit: Je donne ce pays à ta postérité, depuis le fleuve d'Égypte jusqu'au grand fleuve, au fleuve d'Euphrate, (Ⅱ) - ἐν τη̨̃ ἡμέρα̨ ἐκείνη̨ διέθετο κύριος τω̨̃ Αβραμ διαθήκην λέγων τω̨̃ σπέρματί σου δώσω τὴν γη̃ν ταύτην ἀπὸ του̃ ποταμου̃ Αἰγύπτου ἕως του̃ ποταμου̃ του̃ μεγάλου ποταμου̃ Εὐφράτου (Ⅲ) - In illo die pepigit Dominus fœdus cum Abram, dicens : Semini tuo dabo terram hanc a fluvio Ægypti usque ad fluvium magnum Euphraten, (Ⅳ) - 18 ׃15 ביום ההוא כרת יהוה את אברם ברית לאמר לזרעך נתתי את הארץ הזאת מנהר מצרים עד הנהר הגדל נהר פרת (Ⅴ)

The Kenites, and the Kenizzites, and the Kadmonites,
- le pays des Kéniens, des Keniziens, des Kadmoniens, (Ⅱ) - τοὺς Καιναίους καὶ τοὺς Κενεζαίους καὶ τοὺς Κεδμωναίους (Ⅲ) - Cinæos, et Cenezæos, Cedmonæos, (Ⅳ) - 19 ׃15 את הקיני ואת הקנזי ואת הקדמני (Ⅴ)

And the Hittites, and the Perizzites, and the Rephaim,
- des Héthiens, des Phéréziens, des Rephaïm, (Ⅱ) - καὶ τοὺς Χετταίους καὶ τοὺς Φερεζαίους καὶ τοὺς Ραφαϊν (Ⅲ) - et Hethæos, et Pherezæos, Raphaim quoque, (Ⅳ) - 20 ׃15 ואת החתי ואת הפרזי ואת הרפאים (Ⅴ)

And the Amorites, and the Canaanites, and the Girgashites, and the Jebusites.
- des Amoréens, des Cananéens, des Guirgasiens et des Jébusiens. (Ⅱ) - καὶ τοὺς Αμορραίους καὶ τοὺς Χαναναίους καὶ τοὺς Ευαίους καὶ τοὺς Γεργεσαίους καὶ τοὺς Ιεβουσαίους (Ⅲ) - et Amorrhæos, et Chananæos, et Gergesæos, et Jebusæos. (Ⅳ) - 21 ׃15 ואת האמרי ואת הכנעני ואת הגרגשי ואת היבוסי ס (Ⅴ)
