And Israel took his journey with all that he had, and came to Beersheba, and offered sacrifices unto the God of his father Isaac.
- Israël partit, avec tout ce qui lui appartenait. Il arriva à Beer Schéba, et il offrit des sacrifices au Dieu de son père Isaac. And God spake unto Israel in the visions of the night, and said, Jacob, Jacob. And he said, Here am I.

And he said, I am God, the God of thy father: fear not to go down into Egypt; for I will there make of thee a great nation:
- Et Dieu dit: Je suis le Dieu, le Dieu de ton père. Ne crains point de descendre en Égypte, car là je te ferai devenir une grande nation. (Ⅱ) - λέγων ἐγώ εἰμι ὁ θεὸς τω̃ν πατέρων σου μὴ φοβου̃ καταβη̃ναι εἰς Αἴγυπτον εἰς γὰρ ἔθνος μέγα ποιήσω σε ἐκει̃ (Ⅲ) - Ait illi Deus : Ego sum fortissimus Deus patris tui : noli timere, descende in Ægyptum, quia in gentem magnam faciam te ibi. I will go down with thee into Egypt; and I will also surely bring thee up again: and Joseph shall put his hand upon thine eyes.
- Moi-même je descendrai avec toi en Égypte, et moi-même je t'en ferai remonter; et Joseph te fermera les yeux. And Jacob rose up from Beersheba: and the sons of Israel carried Jacob their father, and their little ones, and their wives, in the wagons which Pharaoh had sent to carry him.

And they took their cattle, and their goods, which they had gotten in the land of Canaan, and came into Egypt, Jacob, and all his seed with him:
- Ils prirent aussi leurs troupeaux et les biens qu'ils avaient acquis dans le pays de Canaan. Et Jacob se rendit en Égypte, avec toute sa famille. His sons, and his sons' sons with him, his daughters, and his sons' daughters, and all his seed brought he with him into Egypt.

And these are the names of the children of Israel, which came into Egypt, Jacob and his sons: Reuben, Jacob's firstborn.

And the sons of Judah; Er, and Onan, and Shelah, and Pharez, and Zarah: but Er and Onan died in the land of Canaan. And the sons of Pharez were Hezron and Hamul.

These be the sons of Leah, which she bare unto Jacob in Padanaram, with his daughter Dinah: all the souls of his sons and his daughters were thirty and three.

These are the sons of Bilhah, which Laban gave unto Rachel his daughter, and she bare these unto Jacob: all the souls were seven.

All the souls that came with Jacob into Egypt, which came out of his loins, besides Jacob's sons' wives, all the souls were threescore and six;

And the sons of Joseph, which were born him in Egypt, were two souls: all the souls of the house of Jacob, which came into Egypt, were threescore and ten.

And he sent Judah before him unto Joseph, to direct his face unto Goshen; and they came into the land of Goshen.

And Joseph made ready his chariot, and went up to meet Israel his father, to Goshen, and presented himself unto him; and he fell on his neck, and wept on his neck a good while.

(Ⅱ) - ζεύξας δὲ Ιωσηφ τὰ ἅρματα αὐτου̃ ἀνέβη εἰς συνάντησιν Ισραηλ τω̨̃ πατρὶ αὐτου̃ καθ' 'Ηρώων πόλιν καὶ ὀφθεὶς αὐτω̨̃ ἐπέπεσεν ἐπὶ τὸν τράχηλον αὐτου̃ καὶ ἔκλαυσεν κλαυθμω̨̃ πλείονι (Ⅲ) - Quo cum pervenisset, juncto Joseph curro suo, ascendit obviam patri suo ad eumdem locum : vidensque eum, irruit super collum ejus, et inter amplexus flevit. (Ⅳ) - 29 ׃46 ויאסר יוסף מרכבתו ויעל לקראת ישראל אביו גשנה וירא אליו ויפל על צואריו ויבך על צואריו עוד (Ⅴ)

And Israel said unto Joseph, Now let me die, since I have seen thy face, because thou art yet alive.
- Israël dit à Joseph: Que je meure maintenant, puisque j'ai vu ton visage et que tu vis encore! (Ⅱ) - καὶ εἰ̃πεν Ισραηλ πρὸς Ιωσηφ ἀποθανου̃μαι ἀπὸ του̃ νυ̃ν ἐπεὶ ἑώρακα τὸ πρόσωπόν σου ἔτι γὰρ σὺ ζη̨̃ς (Ⅲ) - Dixitque pater ad Joseph : Jam lætus moriar, quia vidi faciem tuam, et superstitem te relinquo. (Ⅳ) - 30 ׃46 ויאמר ישראל אל יוסף אמותה הפעם אחרי ראותי את פניך כי עודך חי (Ⅴ)

And Joseph said unto his brethren, and unto his father's house, I will go up, and show Pharaoh, and say unto him, My brethren, and my father's house, which were in the land of Canaan, are come unto me;
- Joseph dit à ses frères et à la famille de son père: Je vais avertir Pharaon, et je lui dirai: Mes frères et la famille de mon père, qui étaient au pays de Canaan, sont arrivés auprès de moi. (Ⅱ) - εἰ̃πεν δὲ Ιωσηφ πρὸς τοὺς ἀδελφοὺς αὐτου̃ ἀναβὰς ἀπαγγελω̃ τω̨̃ Φαραω καὶ ἐρω̃ αὐτω̨̃ οἱ ἀδελφοί μου καὶ ὁ οἰ̃κος του̃ πατρός μου οἳ ἠ̃σαν ἐν γη̨̃ Χανααν ἥκασιν πρός με (Ⅲ) - At ille locutus est ad fratres suos, et ad omnem domum patris sui : Ascendam, et nuntiabo Pharaoni, dicamque ei : Fratres mei, et domus patris mei, qui erant in terra Chanaan, venerunt ad me : (Ⅳ) - 31 ׃46 ויאמר יוסף אל אחיו ואל בית אביו אעלה ואגידה לפרעה ואמרה אליו אחי ובית אבי אשר בארץ כנען באו אלי (Ⅴ)

And the men are shepherds, for their trade hath been to feed cattle; and they have brought their flocks, and their herds, and all that they have.
- Ces hommes sont bergers, car ils élèvent des troupeaux; ils ont amené leurs brebis et leurs boeufs, et tout ce qui leur appartient. (Ⅱ) - οἱ δὲ ἄνδρες εἰσὶν ποιμένες ἄνδρες γὰρ κτηνοτρόφοι ἠ̃σαν καὶ τὰ κτήνη καὶ τοὺς βόας καὶ πάντα τὰ αὐτω̃ν ἀγειόχασιν (Ⅲ) - et sunt viri pastores ovium, curamque habent alendorum gregum : pecora sua, et armenta, et omnia quæ habere potuerunt, adduxerunt secum. (Ⅳ) - 32 ׃46 והאנשים רעי צאן כי אנשי מקנה היו וצאנם ובקרם וכל אשר להם הביאו (Ⅴ)

And it shall come to pass, when Pharaoh shall call you, and shall say, What is your occupation?
- Et quand Pharaon vous appellera, et dira: (Ⅱ) - ἐὰν οὐ̃ν καλέση̨ ὑμα̃ς Φαραω καὶ εἴπη̨ ὑμι̃ν τί τὸ ἔργον ὑμω̃ν ἐστιν (Ⅲ) - Cumque vocaverit vos, et dixerit : Quod est opus vestrum ? (Ⅳ) - 33 ׃46 והיה כי יקרא לכם פרעה ואמר מה מעשיכם (Ⅴ)

That ye shall say, Thy servants' trade hath been about cattle from our youth even until now, both we, and also our fathers: that ye may dwell in the land of Goshen; for every shepherd is an abomination unto the Egyptians.
- Quelle est votre occupation? vous répondrez: Tes serviteurs ont élevé des troupeaux, depuis notre jeunesse jusqu'à présent, nous et nos pères. De cette manière, vous habiterez dans le pays de Gosen, car tous les bergers sont en abomination aux Égyptiens. (Ⅱ) - ἐρει̃τε ἄνδρες κτηνοτρόφοι ἐσμὲν οἱ παι̃δές σου ἐκ παιδὸς ἕως του̃ νυ̃ν καὶ ἡμει̃ς καὶ οἱ πατέρες ἡμω̃ν ἵνα κατοικήσητε ἐν γη̨̃ Γεσεμ 'Αραβία̨ βδέλυγμα γάρ ἐστιν Αἰγυπτίοις πα̃ς ποιμὴν προβάτων (Ⅲ) - respondebitis : Viri pastores sumus servi tui, ab infantia nostra usque in præsens, et nos et patres nostri. Hæc autem dicetis, ut habitare possitis in terra Gessen : quia detestantur Ægyptii omnes pastores ovium. (Ⅳ) - 34 ׃46 ואמרתם אנשי מקנה היו עבדיך מנעורינו ועד עתה גם אנחנו גם אבתינו בעבור תשבו בארץ גשן כי תועבת מצרים כל רעה צאן (Ⅴ)
